LWA's Debut Show:
Saturday, May 25, 2013
Thank you to all the fans who came out to the show last night! If you were unable to attend, here’s a rundown of the night’s events...
LWA Owner Brandon Allen came out just before the show began and thanked the crowd for coming to the show. He went on to say that like all the fans, he had begun getting tired of what wrestling had become. Allen promised the fans that LWA would bring wrestling back to what it used to be, not what wrestling had become...
The Dangerous Elements (Blizzard & Thunder) defeated “The Natural” Kevin Blade & “Cowboy” Ace King when Thunder beat King with the Weather Anomaly (Total Elimination) in 19:21.
Match rating: ** ¼
What a way to kick off LWA with the showcasing of this hot, young masked team of The Dangerous Elements. King & Blade tried their best to “weather the elements” so to speak, but Blizzard & Thunder’s speed were just too much to handle. After the loss, Blade would get on the mic, blaming the entire loss on Mr. King. He then challenged The Dangerous Elements to a rematch for next show, promising to find a partner “1000 times better” than King.
“The Grand Gaming Machine” Harris Lewis defeated Cliff Quinn by countout in 11:06.
Match rating: ** ½
We were all introduced in this match to “The Upper Class”, consisting of Cliff Quinn, and his backup Xander Riley, hailing from California. Quinn began a speech about how refined his partner and he were, and that everyone in Louisville were nothing but trash. But as Quinn went into how people from Louisville could better themselves, out came Lewis, gamer extraordinaire! Quinn would try and ground the gamer, but Lewis was all over the place like a game of “Pong”. Quinn’s ultimate downfall would actually be his partner Xander Riley. Lewis knocked Quinn off the apron into Riley, followed by a spectacular dive to the floor. After a “meeting of the minds” for the upperclassmen, Lewis would get back in the ring for the countout victory.
Victor Torres defeated “Big Daddy” Shawn Parker by DQ in 15:05 when Shawn Parker used an illegal low blow on Torres.
Match rating: * ¾
An unknown man in a suit came out as this match began, apparently scouting potential talent. He might not have been too impressed with how Parker blatantly cost himself this match. Just as Torres was going to potentially finish off “Big Daddy”, Parker low blowed Torres with a forearm, giving Torres the DQ victory.
Xander Riley defeated Max Nitro with the Greetings From Cali (Greetings From Asbury Park) in 11:28.
Match rating: *** ½
Cliff Quinn before this match guaranteed that The Upper Class would redeem themselves from their loss earlier on in the night. This match was definitely two bulls meeting head on, matching power move for power move. The surprising thing that came from this match was that Quinn did not have to get involved in the least. Riley would slip from a Nitro powerslam to finish him off with Greetings From Cali. Quinn should feel fortunate to have this big man watching his back.
“The Standard Bearer” Tommy Golden defeated Taylor Cassidy by submission with the Gold Chain (Texas Cloverleaf) in 18:53.
Match rating: **
Heartthrob Taylor Cassidy might have had the fans behind him, but Tommy Golden had his manager Jessica Mercer in his corner, and of course she wasn’t just handing out moral support. Anytime she could get involved, she did. Mercer was always one step ahead of the ref. Just as it looked that her man just might be beaten, Mercer would get on the apron, distracting Cassidy. Right as Cassidy turned back around, Golden took him down and locked in the Gold Chain, forcing Cassidy to submit.
“Playboy” Justin Prince defeated “The Jukebox Hero” Jimmy Marshall by DQ in 12:49.
Match rating: ** ½
Justin Prince was only concerned about picking up chicks, while Marshall just wanted to rock out with the fans using his trusty guitar. These two men showed off their high flying, acrobatic ability, which the unknown man in the suit from earlier on in the night had to take notice of. He once again was out scouting talent. Marshall was a little too willing to just do what the fans wanted, and in the end it cost him dearly. Marshall was disqualified after setting up his guitar in the corner, then sending Prince head first into it. Marshall didn’t care though, heck he gave “Playboy” a whack with the guitar after the bell to a chorus of cheers.
Main Event:
Duke Justice and The Dark Scorpion were both counted out at 10:27.
Match rating: ** ¼
This main event, although not quite having the conclusion we would have liked, was a brawl from the start. These two fought from the ring, around the ringside area, and all the way up the aisleway before being counted out. At that point nothing mattered to these two except getting to throw blows at one another. Not even security could separate them as they went to the backstage area to close out the show.
LWA will be back in action on Saturday night, July 20th, 2013 with Independence Bash!
Overall card rating: ** ¼

Interesting. Kind of reminds me of something really in between ROH and chikara in the style

Good first show. I like the character introductions as part of your write-ups. It's a very small squabble, but to me, the font seems a little big. Keep it up! I'll be checking this out.

LWA Independence Bash:
Saturday, July 20, 2013
LWA fans, Independence Bash is in the books, and for those unable to attend, here’s what went down:
“Big Daddy” Shawn Parker & “The Natural” Kevin Blade defeated The Dangerous Elements (Blizzard & Thunder) when Parker beat Blizzard with the Big Daddy Driver (Death Valley Driver) in 18:35.
Match rating: ** ¾
Kevin Blade promised a mystery partner who could help him defeat The Dangerous Elements, and he actually delivered. Shawn Parker would step up to offer his services and actually fared much better than Kevin Blade & previous partner, Ace King. It went back and forth for the most part, but the addition of Shawn Parker was able to match Blizzard & Thunder’s speed. Toward the end of the match though, the unknown man in the black suit from last show once again made his presence felt. He would grab Blizzard’s leg as Blizzard was going into the ropes, causing a momentary distraction, allowing Parker to hit his Big Daddy Driver for the victory.
After the match, the man in the suit joined Blade & Parker in the ring and introduced himself as Mr. Williamson. He offered his managerial services to Blade & Parker, which they readily accepted. Tag teams better beware of this new duo...
“Playboy” Justin Prince defeated Victor Torres with the Night On The Town (snap swinging neckbreaker to a opponent hung on the ropes) in 13:15.
Match rating: ** ¾
Torres really had to fight to stay in this match, as any time he would try and mount an offense, Prince would eventually shut it down. Torres did try and go for some move as Prince was on one knee, but got chopblocked as he came in to strike. That’s when Prince set up Torres for the Night on the Town for the one, two, three...
“The Grand Gaming Machine” Harris Lewis defeated “Cowboy” Ace King with the Final Level (Zack Attack) in 16:29.
Match rating: ***
This was a far cry from a typical game of Call of Duty for Lewis, and Ace King certainly was no “noob”. King treated Lewis like a sack of potatoes while he dominated this match, but just when King thought he might get a shut out against the gamer, Lewis fought back. King attempted to hit his Flush Draw double-arm DDT, but Lewis spun from it, kneed King in the gut, followed by the Final Level. Game...Lewis...
The Upper Class (Cliff Quinn & Xander Riley) defeated “The Jukebox Hero” Jimmy Marshall & Taylor Cassidy when Quinn beat Marshall with the Class Warfare (Riley tosses the opponent from a powerslam position to Quinn who catches them with a Flatliner) in 16:09.
Match rating: ** ¾
Last show saw Cliff Quinn & Xander Riley in one on one competition, but this time The Upper Class got to exhibit their tag team skills. The main strategy appeared however to be Quinn tagging out to Riley anytime things got too dicey for him to handle. Riley kept Cassidy grounded for quite a bit, unable to tag out. But Marshall was eventually reached and he came in with full force, taking down both Quinn & Riley. But the numbers game became too much even for the fun loving rocker and he succumb to the Class Warfare.
Max Nitro defeated “The Standard Bearer” Tommy Golden by submission with the Max Throttle (Full nelson) in 16:23.
Match rating: ** ¾
Tommy Golden attempted to use his knowledge of technical wrestling to take down Nitro and possibly submit him, but Nitro’s power quieted any notions of that strategy bearing fruit. But then there was Jessica Mercer, she’d distract the ref to help Golden get an underhanded advantage, or she’d just distract Nitro himself. But Mercer would pay the price for all those attempts. When getting on apron at one point to distract Nitro again, he planted a wet one on her! Golden didn’t take too kindly to this and charged head on, but Nitro easily slipped behind him and locked in the Max Throttle to defeat the technical expert.
The Dark Scorpion defeated Duke Justice with the Fatal Sting (Heart punch) in 17:08.
Match rating: *
If anybody thought things would be different from their last encounter, they would have been absolutely...dead wrong. Dark Scorpion and Justice went after each other with everything they had, with Justice hitting mutiple kinds of slams. But things took a turn for the worst for Justice when he landed his Serving of Justice (sitout Boss Man Slam) on Dark Scorpion. The ref was too close to Scorpion’s legs and got blasted in the head, knocking him out cold. While Justice attempted to revive the referee, Scorpion had enough time to retrieve powder from his trunks. He blinded Justice, and took advantage of Justice’s blindness to land the Fatal Sting to finally give this growing feud its first definitive conclusion.
LWA returns to action on Saturday, September 14th! Keep an eye out for future matches to be announced!
Overall card rating: ** ½

Effective immediately, LWA has severed ties with Taylor Cassidy & The Dark Scorpion. We wish them well in their future endeavors...
(Ok, so two notable incidents occurred after Independence Bash was run. Taylor Cassidy began asking for bigger payoffs for shows and Dark Scorpion had a backstage fight. If I had to guess, it was probably a fight with Duke Justice seeing how their match quality rating was terrible. So I fired both of them. Kinda sucks because I wanted to book a No DQ match with Scorpion and Justice to finally finish the feud. Maybe one day if Justice is gone from the company I'll bring back Scorpion.)

I agree with Wicked that you are doing a good job bringing fantasy wrestlers to life. I think it's important to have more gimmicky characters than normal when doing fantasy circuits, without necessarily resorting to dentists, race car drivers and ants. I think you hit the sweet spot very well. The fonts were a lot better at the second show. larger than normal, but I think it works well. The backstage incidents are a great addition to any Wrestling sim. It sucks when these things happen, but it brings out a little more realism. I just had one of my biggest stars yell at a kid at a comic con... I'm not so sure I would have fired Dark Scorpion right away, but I would have definitely had him job to Justice on his way out Good to have you on board!

Well rey, the way i saw it, i really thought about it like maybe Scorpion would have been so upset with Justice, he would have refused to continue to work for LWA as long as Justice was still used. Yeah it sounds childish, but wrestlers have done childish things before. This is more like a small indy fed where guys aren't under contract necessarily

This just came in straight from LWA Owner Brandon Allen concerning the next event on September 14th, take a look:
Greetings LWA fans, now we have been in operation for just a few months. You fans have been able to see our roster, start to develop a connection. Wrestlers have begun establishing friendships and alliances. But it's now time to throw all of that out of the window. It's about time to lay all the chips on the table. A few months ago I had championship belts ordered to be made, and I have now received them. So it's time to crown champions, we will on September 14th begin a process to crown a Junior Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion. Here are the participants:
Junior Heavyweight Cliff Quinn of The Upper Class "Big Daddy" Shawn Parker "Playboy" Justin Prince The Dangerous Elements of Blizzard & Thunder Victor Torres "The Grand Gaming Machine" Harris Lewis
Heavyweight "Cowboy" Ace King "The Standard Bearer" Tommy Golden "The Natural" Kevin Blade Xander Riley of The Upper Class Duke Justice "The Jukebox Hero" Jimmy Marshall Max Nitro
Now as you can see, we only have 7 wrestlers for each division, not exactly enough for a tournament. But I have a solution. We will have two matches on September 14th for each division, a Three-Way Elimination Match and a Four-Way Elimination Match. Here are the matches for each division as follows:
"Big Daddy" Shawn Parker vs. Blizzard vs. Thunder Cliff Quinn vs. Justin Prince vs. Victor Torres vs. Harris Lewis
Tommy Golden vs. Xander Riley vs. Max Nitro Ace King vs. Kevin Blade vs Jimmy Marshall vs Duke Justice
Now moving on to November, where we will crown our first ever champions, to keep LWA always being exciting, the finals for these championships won't be just some regular match. The two finalists for the Junior Heavyweight Championship...will have to climb a ladder to retrieve that championship belt! And the Heavyweights will have to pin or submit their not once...but twice in a 2 out of 3 falls match!
Thank you very much LWA fans, hope to see you in September...
Sincerely, LWA Owner Brandon Allen

Anybody got a particular wrestler they want to become champion? Mine would be Harris Lewis for the Juniors and Jimmy Marshall for the Heavyweights. Doesn't mean it will happen necessarily as I let the sim decide who wins or loses...

I can imagine Harris Lewis' promos would be hilariously over-the-top geeky. The right indy crowd might eat it up, although a WWE-esk crowd would probably shat all over it.
Harris need a feud with Carlito. "You're some kind of giant nerd?" "I'm a gamer." "Geeks aren't cool." *blasts him in the face with an computer keyboard* "Who's your daddy now, bitch?"

Harris Lewis for Jr. Heavyweight Champ for sure...
Not sure about the heavyweights.

LWA Road to the Gold:
Saturday, September 14, 2013
LWA fans, the Road to the Gold has completed its first leg, and if you missed it, here’s how the road looks thus far...
Max Nitro won an elimination match in 20:42 to advance to the 2 out of 3 Falls Match in November.
- Xander Riley eliminated Tommy Golden at 12:57 with a schoolboy.
- Max Nitro eliminated Xander Riley at 20:42 with the Max Throttle.
What did Tommy Golden and Xander Riley have in common with Max Nitro? Over the previous two shows, Max Nitro had faced them both. Only one could beat him, but together Golden and Riley thought Nitro could be eliminated quickly as long as they worked with each other. However Riley saw an opportunity during a Golden assault to surprise and eliminate Tommy Golden, much to Jessica Mercer’s dismay. Now it was only Riley and Nitro, who Riley defeated on the debut show. It was another power battle, but this time when Riley went for Greetings From Cali, Nitro slipped out and locked in the Full Throttle. This time Max Nitro would submit Riley and advance to November.
Nathan Murphy defeated Wesley Stevens with the Wave Crash (top-rope Senton splash) in 14:11.
Cliff Quinn came back out after Wesley Stevens entrance, not happy that Xander Riley failed to advance. But he had good news, at least according to Quinn. There was a new member in The Upper Class, and he would be Stevens opponent tonight...Nathan Murphy. Murphy and Stevens certainly did impress in their debuts for LWA. But while Quinn had the referee distracted, Xander Riley would reappear, hitting Stevens with a big boot. Murphy was able to capitalize, landing with the Wave Crash for the 1-2-3.
Thunder won an elimination match in 24:13 to advance to the Ladder Match in November.
- Blizzard eliminated Shawn Parker at 11:51 with a backslide.
- Thunder eliminated Blizzard at 24:13 with the Lightning Bolt (top-rope double stomp) .
“Big Daddy” was turned into a fish in a barrel for the Dangerous Elements, with both focusing their attack solely on him. Mr. Williamson was made a non-factor as one Element would keep an eye on him during the others attack, so their would be no interference here. After Parker’s elimination, we would actually have the battle of Elements. It was a fierce battle too, arm drags, moves off the ropes, each Element showing off their individual skills. In the end though, Blizzard was just in the right position for Thunder to land his Lightning Bolt to advance to the Ladder Match in November.
After the match, fans feared the Dangerous Elements might split up over jealousy or anger, but to the fans relief Blizzard shook Thunder’s hand, then raised it.
“The Grand Gaming Machine” Harris Lewis won an elimination match in 29:35 to advance to the Ladder Match in November.
- Cliff Quinn eliminated Justin Prince at 13:29 with the Refinement (The 13th Step).
- Victor Torres eliminated Cliff Quinn at 21:55 with a La Magistral.
- Harris Lewis eliminated Victor Torres at 29:35 with a sunset flip.
There would be no alliances here, as villain fought villain, hero fought hero. All for the chance to become the first-ever LWA Junior Heavyweight Champion. After Quinn eliminated Prince, he made one fatal mistake, he basically caused Lewis and Torres to focus solely on him by angering them. After Quinn was gone, there was no anger, only a handshake and agreeing to “let the best man win”. That best man would be gamer Harris Lewis.
“Cowboy” Ace King won an elimination match in 29:04 to advance to the 2 out of 3 Falls Match in November.
- Duke Justice eliminated Jimmy Marshall at 11:15 with the Serving Of Justice.
- Ace King eliminated Kevin Blade at 22:21 with the Flush Draw.
- Ace King eliminated Duke Justice at 29:04 with the Flush Draw.
When this match was announced, no one would have ever thought things would turn out the way they did. This was truly a match where Ace King validated himself as a major player in LWA. The fans especially cheered when he eliminated Kevin Blade, who became irate after realizing what had happened. The fans were torn between King and Duke Justice, but King would duck from the Serving of Justice, hit the Flush Draw and score the pinfall to advance to November. King’s cheering section roared when their new hero won, that’s when Max Nitro came out and he and King had a staredown to end the show.
LWA returns to action November 23rd with the Crowning of Champions!
Match Card:
2 out of 3 Falls Match to crown the first-ever LWA Heavyweight Champion
”Cowboy” Ace King vs Max Nitro
Ladder Match to crown first-ever LWA Junior Heavyweight Champion
”The Grand Gaming Machine” Harris Lewis vs Thunder of The Dangerous Elements

(Yeah, so forgot about this little occurrence where Golden basically disagreed with the direction of the company. So another one is gone from LWA. But not to worry, tomorrow I post the final 2013 show.)

Backstage occurrences are not being kind to you. Well I do have the Incident Rate at 7, because I saw in the manual to set it between 2 - 10. So 7 seemed like a good balance. But wow, it's almost every month lol

Yeah 7 is super high. I usually leave mine on 2. I get events a few times a year, which seems more realistic to me.

You can just go to "circuit options" over on the right side of the main menu and change it.

Ok, what would you suggest for No Show, and Injury Rate? I might go ahead and drop this circuit since I wasn't planning on going with it for long anyway...
And what would anyone suggest for a roster size for a major circuit?
|
|
|
Post by Carlzilla on Mar 24, 2016 16:23:42 GMT -5
I usually keep them at 2 or 3.
A major circuit roster size should probably contain between 40-60 wrestlers depending on how much TV time they have.

Hey everybody, gonna restart this fed by having a wikidot site exclusively for LWA. I'm gonna reboot with the same debut card (just with toned down circuit settings, thanks Carlzilla). I'm gonna run a few cards before I really set anything up...
