I've always wondered, what triggers the referee arm check sequence in relation to any given move. Is it simply anything with the submission move checkbox checked? Is it the presence of the 'word 'sleeper' or 'sleeperhold' in the move name? Is it something else altogether?
I'm asking because I don't recall it ever coming up during say... a camel clutch, which would have the 'submission move' checkbox checked but where it wouldn't make sense. On the other hand, I don't recall it ever coming up during a Koji Clutch either, where it would make sense.
Of course, I'm only just getting back into TNM after a long time away from it, so it could just be that my selective memory is coming into play here.

I would assume a wrestler can pass out in any submission hold, which triggers the arm check.

I would assume a wrestler can pass out in any submission hold, which triggers the arm check. Gotcha. Guess I've mostly just been lucky then, in that it doesn't seem to come up in situations that it wouldn't make sense.
