How hard would it be to implement something like AEW is doing with the rankings? I'd love to have the option of keeping an "overall ranking" and then have the option at the beginning of my circuit year to reset rankings. This way when I have Jerry Lawler in my USWA circuit for 20 years and he's 145-12, i can still reset his yearly record and make for some new matchups, without forgetting the history of the circuit.

Well... it would mean a complete overhaul of how the rankings are stored, processed and calculated. This isn't just a quick change. Everywhere where the rankings are created, used or processed would then have to be duplicated: overall and current. That includes the main program and several plugins.
I'd be happy to put it on the wishlist in case there's ever another major version. But it's not the type of change you could expect from a maintenance release (Build).

Speaking of rankings.. How are they calculated? Is it based on the push of the defeated wrestler?
I admit I'd like a rating system based on the strength of opponent. Like a FIFA ranking. So if Wrestler A is just defeating jobbers, then it takes a longer time to move up the rankings. Compared to Wrestler B who defeats a couple of major stars and if now in top contention.

You get points for wins (more) and draws (fewer). Winning streaks can (depending on your settings) push you in the rankings. The amount of points you get for a win depend on the wrestlers/teams you faced (their stats vs yours) and how dominant your wins were.

Like, let's take a sampling of my ratings: Name | Wins | Loss | Draw | Streak | Lance Storm | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | Rick Martel | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | Horace | 2 | 0 | 0 | 2 | Chris Jericho | 4 | 2 | 1 | 1 | Jim Neidhart | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
If it's wins and streaks, why aren't Horace and Jericho at the stop instead of below Storm and Martel? I know it's a minor point and it starts sorting itself out after more cards, but it's always nagged at me.

The key is that the ratings are based on AVERAGE amount of points earned per match, plus a bonus for being a title holder (weighted by title importance).
If Horace had two unimpressive wins against low-level competition, the scenario you see is completely plausible. Also, countouts and DQs matter less than pins and submissions.
If I didn't average it by match, you'd see people who have had a shitload of matches in the promotion clog up the top of the ratings. It also pays into the old wrestling adage that the longer you've been in a promotion, the clearer your position is and the less upward/downward momentum you have.
If you've had 25 matches and those slotted you in the middle of the top 10, winning or losing one extra match won't move you much compared to somebody with very few matches.
