Dixie Carter says TNA will change forever » Reported by Roy Nemer of Wrestleview.com » On June 11, 2010 at 11:10 am
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TNA president Dixie Carter posted the following on her Twitter page:
"It's 6:30 am. Been up for hours. So excited I can't sleep. TNA's about to change forever. Can't wait to share it w/you, my staff, the talent"
Then this:
Carter makes more mention about TNA surprise » Reported by Adam Martin of Wrestleview.com » On June 12, 2010 at 3:14 am
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As reported on earlier, TNA President Dixie Carter has been teasing a surprise for this Sunday's Slammiversary PPV in what she has described as something that will "change TNA forever."
Carter has reportedly kept the news from key people within the company and made another mention via her official Twitter page adding, "Just got off phone with Spike prez Kevin Kay. He is all in and agrees this will change TNA on every level."
Prowrestling.net reports that Carter recently had a phone conversation with Paul Heyman, leading further speculation before the PPV tomorrow night in Orlando, Florida that will celebrate the eight year anniversary of TNA Wrestling.
Am I dreaming?

whatever changes are made it will do nothing to help their business or change their ratings past afew weeks before they go back to pulling worse ratings than either 1 hour wwe show.

I have to disagree. I think that Paul Heyman is a game changer for TNA. IF, if he is given full creative control, then TNA would pull better numbers, if just to see what Heyman would do with him driving the bus.

Aren't Russo, Hogan, and Bischoff in charge of everything, though?
If so, I can't see Dixie hiring a guy that.... Has had issues with at least one of those three in the past, and then putting him in charge of all three.
Some of the wrestlers would probably like it, though.

well her 'life changing surprise" won't happen at the ppv, but, there will be some sort of "nice surprise" tonight (*cough* Dreamer). however she has told talent that it is not that she sold the company or a new tv deal... and it will be happening over the next few weeks, not just one night.

Really? Do any casual fans actually care about Tommy Dreamer? In fact, do any hardcore fans still care about Dreamer? He barely won a match in WWE's ECW, he was the most over in 1995-1996, and he is a horrible wrestler now.
He'd a be a great road agent and help for the guys in the back (which I'm assuming is what he will be), but he really shouldn't even show face on the air. Hopefully this is a stepping stone to Heyman coming in, but even the whole Heyman thing has me expecting a total blow up.
I doubt Heyman lasts longer than a month. And I like Heyman.

If Russo and Hogan were fired and Heyman brought in it could be a great thing.
That said, I doubt it's Heyman. I expect it to be something stupid and disappointing.

Dixie Carter has said several times before Slammiversary that the "nice surprise" at the PPV isn't what she's talking about.
She's also said that it isn't Heyman.
Maybe they're bringing back the six sided ring...=P Ooooh! Maybe they're using Pint-Sized Brawlers to launch a full on midget division!

Maybe they plan on pushing non ex-WWE/WCW/ECW talent, and moving to more of a PG13 style of show, with a bit more fan-interaction!
No, no... That's not it...

Or maybe it has something to do with Shane McMahon making his TNA debut!

Shane shows up on a special Monday Impact that runs against Raw... then has the camera cut to Vince on Raw saying he just bought TNA

And Vince makes the announcment that Mike Tenay and Taz are now the new announcers on RAW, and a unification match is set between John Cena and RVD.

That's putting the TNA title awfully high.
How about a unification between RVD and Miz or Kofi Kingston?

and a unification match is set between John Cena and RVD. Been there, done that... But if it includes Edge spearing Cena through a table while wearing a helmet, I guess it'd still work.

Apparantly a bigger suprise is coming... (not that tommy dreamer was a huge surprise as he's been rumoured for months that he's going to TNA, I didn't care when the rumour started and I don't give a shit now) Even in the original ECW Dreamer was a glorified Jobber
From What I hear is that Dixie is planning on cutting back on the monthly PPVs in favour of a TV special format which will be akin to the old WWE or WCW style of having so many PPVs per year, but having TV specials (like SNME, and Clash of the Champions respectively) on months where there is no PPV.
That might actually work as I feel there are way too many PPVs right now, especially in mainstream wrestling
