Not a bad PPV, but nowhere near a Great one, either.
First couple of matches were basically blow offs (IE: We couldn't get everyone we wanted, so we kinda mis-mashed things together, and everyone knew the outcome before the opening bell.)
Of the non-TNA Regulars (At the moment) Kid Kash, Too Cold Scorpio, Little Guido, Tony Luke, (Not-nearly-as-)Big Sal E., and Sabu all put on good showings. (Does Brother Runt count as a non-TNA guy?)
CW Anderson seemed like he called it in.
PJ polaco, OTOH, seemed like he was auditioning and REALLY trying to impress.
Al Snow has put on a few pounds, but did a good job. The intro dance with Head just isn't the same without The Prodigy V_V
Balls and Axle were, well, Balls (Kahonnes :-P) and Axle.
Gangstas were a nice touch, though New Jack didn't try diving off the roof or anything. Mildly shocked there.
Gertner was, as always, magic on the mic.
Raven and Dreamer.....
Neither guy is anywhere NEAR their primes, and between being out of shape, this match could have and probably SHOULD have been total crap.
Instead, they put on a good, old fashioned, REGULAR ECW MATCH. Complete with run-ins, and violence upon the ref.
Van Dam was supposed to have a match with Jerry Lynn, but he hurt his back, so Sabu was used instead (Guessing he was originally Sandman's opponent, since Sandman didn't actually have a match on the show)
Sabu and Van Dam put on a Cole-quality match (Vintage!). Fonzy did, in fact, call it Straight Down The Middle (as a manager)... Including handing them both water for a water break mid-match :-P
Basically, this show felt like a modern-ized ECW "Super" Event from circa 1996-1998. No where near a REAL PPV like Wresltemania or Starcade, but not terrible.
Oh, and the fans were quite... Vocal. Taz even asked Tenay "Are you SURE we're not in South Philly?" at one point.
On a related note: A buddy of mine (who's idea it was to go see the PPV at Dana's or whatever the bar is called these days) SWORE that since it was to be Sabu vs RVD, Paul E would come out to accompany Sabu (with RVD having Fonzy in his corner). Or, at the very least, he'd pop up at the end of the show during the inevitable Farewell Party.
He believed it so much, I won $20 off of him ;-> (We DID get the Farewell Party, but no Paul E.)
