Torres over Banuelos: boring jab-fest
Ellenberger over Rocha: Surprised this went to split decision. Shocked one of the judges gave all 3 rounds to Rocha. Felt Ellenberger won this clearly. Better match.
Jones over Bader: liked these guys' aggression and the fighting over different submission holds. Never seen someone sink a guillotine choke from that angle before. Dunno why nobody seems to use a guillotine choke as a wrestling finisher.
I forget if it was Ellenberger-Rocha or Jones-Bader, but at one point the fighters were on the mat with one basically sitting on the chest of the other trying to wrap his legs and arms into some kind of submission hold. I exclaimed "He's going for a nudo!" then had to explain to my friends what a nudo is. (Lucha libre term for any convoluted submission that ties up the victim's arms and legs. Nudo is Spanish for knot.)
Griffin over Franklin: Griffin's stamina didn't look great as he seemed worn out for Round 3, but he showed little ring rust owning Franklin pretty good in Rounds 1 and 2.
Silva over Belfort: Silva sporting the Rashad Evans goatee. Looked like another Silva dance fest at first. Then Belfort counterattacked and got aggressive, putting Silva in some trouble and everyone went "THANK YOU!" Then Silva kicked Belfort in the face which Belfort didn't seem to see coming at all and that was it.
I think Belfort had a good strategy of letting Silva do his circle-n-dance routine while not engaging, which lured Silva into a false sense of security that this guy was going to be another chump opponent. Then he caught Silva and capitalized. If he doesn't somehow completely miss seeing that front kick I think Belfort had a chance.
