Yeah, Ron Ritchie isn't quite living up to his potential.
It always interests me when the Destroyer drops the belt. He just doesn't feel the same without the title.
I like Lyon as the champ, but I'm wondering where the Destroyer goes after this if he drops out of the title picture for a bit.
Looking forward to the tag team tournament on December 3rd. I kind of hope Valiant and Roenick don't walk out with the straps because I'd like to see Valiant feud with Lyon.

RCW Women's Championship Match Tawney England defeated Jeannie Rahib by pinfall with a schoolgirl roll-up at 8:44 [Tawney England retains the RCW Women's Title] **Corrie England provided a timely bit of interference to help her sister retain the title. Special Tag Team Match The Roughnecks: Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs defeated the Cuban Assassin & The Iranian Assassin by pinfall when Rodgers pinned the Iranian after a piledriver at 11:16 **This marked the return of the former RCW tag champions the Roughnecks to RCW. They came in the same way they left, as fan favorites. The Bounty Hunter defeated the Bonecrusher by pinfall after the Lariat at 10:03 **A bloody fist fight that easily could have resulted in a no-contest if the ref hadn't granted both men a lot of leniancy. Extra Special Tag Team Match Big John Studd & Ron Richie defeated The Mighty Igor & Rufus R. Jones by pinfall when Studd pinned Jones after a heartpunch at 13:34 Keith & Bruce Hart defeated Mike Valiant & Clarke Roenick by submission when Keith submitted Valiant in the figure-four leglock at 7:02 **This was the first pairing of Valiant and triumverate partner Roenick who will be trying to win the tag belts that Lyon & Valiant had to forfeit due to Lyon becoming the Heavyweight champ. It wasn't a very good premiere for the duo. NWA Canadian Heavyweight Title Match Angelo Mosca defeated Buddy Lane by pinfall at 6:35 [Angleo Mosca retains the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Title] NWA United States Title Match Greg Valentine and Bulldog Bob Brown battled to a double countout at 13:57 [Greg Valentine retained the NWA United States Title] **This match marked the first time this prestigious belt was defended in RCW, and served to highlight the growing operations of RCW and the growing relationship between the NWA and RCW. MAIN EVENT - STEEL CAGE MATCH RCW Heavyweight Title Match Chris Lyon defeated The Destroyer by pinfall after an atomic drop into the steel cage at 17:09 [Chris Lyon retains the RCW Heavyweight Title] **A significant win for Lyon against the former champion, and in relatively clean fashion as well.

I love the history you've built up with this circuit. I remember reading some of these years ago. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the format, but I do love historical circuits and getting a history built up. Plus, you have some stars that do stand out. Question for you. I remember you saying you're still running cards for this circuit now. How long was it before you started doing the cards on TNM? Also, where are you now in terms of TNM time? Are you up to the present day or in another year? Keep doing what you're doing. I'm slowly coming around on a lot of this, and am reading regardless.

I switch to running on TNM very soon. I believe it is March 1983. The cards become more detailed. I am currently just doing some pretty abbreviated cards pen and paper. Once/if I ever catch up I will do more detailed cards again. I have uninterrupted champion/title lists, rosters, big cards...but lots of holes to fill in. My current champions are Heavyweight > Uriah (created) TV > Jody Christmas (got the name from TEW) Tag > Thaddeus Coleman & Ricky Foley (real people, football players, created into wrestlers) Women > Grindhouse Barbie (undeserving champ; you can put her into you tube and see who this is, and then tell me that you wouldn't pay to boo her) Great Lakes was one of my favorite cards to read, the mix of indy and mainstream wrestlers was similar to the feeling I was going for in my mix of created and real wrestlers. thanks for reading.

[glow=red,2,300]3rd Anniversary Show[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]December 11, 1982 River City Wrestling #87 Winnipeg Arena, Winnipeg, MB[/glow] RCW Women's Title Match Jeannie Rahib defeated Tawney England by submission with the Indian Deathlock at 12:14 [Jeannie Rahib wins the RCW Women's Title] **Originally Tawney got the 1, 2, 3, after some nice interference help by Corrie England. However, when Tanya Tataryn came out and complained to the ref, who then consulted with the announcers who confirmed the interference, he ordered the match to re-start, and banned Corrie from her manager position. Needless to say, in the straight up match Jeannie came out ahead. **Music was used for the first time in RCW histroy as well, as Tawney came out to "No One Like You" by the Scorpions to get the crowd pumped up. Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final The Cuban & Iranian Assassin defeated Keith & Bruce Hart by pinfall when the Cuban pinned Keith following a belly-to-belly suplex from a bearhug position which he had been applying for about two minutes. 14:03 Tag Team Tournament Semi-Final The Roughnecks: Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs defeated Mike Valiant & Clarke Roenick by submission when Riggs pulled out a Texas brainbuster submisison on Valiant who delighted the fans by squealing under the pressure. 9:00 RCW Television Title Match: Bunkhouse Brawl: The Bounty Hunter defeated Bulldog Bob Brown by 10 count at 12:27 [Bounty Hunter wins the RCW Television Title] **A very short title reign for Brown indeed. Special Appearance: Big John Studd defeated the Bonecrusher by pinfall following the heart punch at 6:34 **Bonecrusher was removed via stretcher with EMS attendents following the devastating heart punch. NWA Canadian Heavyweight Title Match Rufus R. Jones defeated Angelo Mosca by disqualification at 8:38 [Angelo Mosca retains the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Title] NWA United States Heavyweight Title Match Greg Valentine defeated Buddy Lane by submission with the figure-four leglock at 17:45 [Greg Valentine retains the NWA United States Title] **Originally this match was advertised as being Valentine v Bob Brown, and the Bunkhouse Brawl was to be Bounty Hunter against Kerry Brown. This late change and the dropping of the TV title by Bob Brown to the Bounty Hunter sent a clear signal that Bob Brown was done with the RCW. SEMI-MAIN EVENT Tag Team Tournament Final For the vacant RCW Tag Team Titles The Roughnecks: Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs defeated the Cuban Assassin & The Iranian Assassin by pinfall when Rodgers pinned the Cuban following a stuffed piledriver at 15:54 [The Roughnecks win the RCW Tag Team Titles] MAIN EVENT - STEEL CAGE MATCH RCW Heavyweight Title Match Chris Lyon defeated The Destroyer by pinfall following a release German suplex which bounced the Destroyer off the cage wall at 22:47 [Chris Lyon retains the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Post-match Lyon got on the mic and replying to all the boos he received told the fans off, and that if he had followed them he would be watching the Destroyer still be the champion, protected by the promoters. Instead he stands there, bloodied but triumphant. He then calls out his triumverate team mates Mike Valiant and Clarke Roenick, who were unsuccesful tonight in winning the RCW tag titles. While he waits he says he also wouldn't be standing here the champion without their help, and he wants to share the moment of glory with them. However as the two walk down the aisle, they stop half way, and then actually get cheered as they turn their back on Lyon and walk away. notes; The past 3 years cards have been pretty accurate from the actual cards run by our live action fed, as well as pen and paper feds. The next couple months will still feature only abbreviated results as the make-up of the roster changes quite a bit. Officially, the RCW is increasing its ties with the NWA as well as the Maple Leaf Booking office and Stu Hart's Stampede as well. The reality of the situation back then was that although Verne Gagne's AWA was set up to appear as independent from the NWA power structure, to get around anti-trust problems, the fact was that the AWA and the WWWF were still protected under the same umbrealla as the NWA member feds from competition in their area. In other words there is no way that the NWA would have helped out a rogue fed like RCW compete with Gagne back in 1983. However, at the time I didn't know that. Going forward I will be making brand new cards using the TNM simulator. I have many partial feds, short lived, overlapping, that were run with pen and paper. I will try and keep as much of the spirit of those feds alive over the next few years results in the mix of wrestlers, who got pushed, the champions etc. I will be continuing as well with using some created wrestlers, often replacing real world wrestlers who I don't have TNM exports for, and who I don't have enough info to make an export for, with a created wrestler instead. I'm very much looking forward to the new format which should begin with the March 1983 cards.

A very good third anniversary card. Only thing I wasn't really huge on was Lyons winning, but he is a dominant champion. The Destroyer needs to move on to something else for awhile. Lyons has been beating his ass for weeks now.
Looking forward to seeing the new format and where you go from here with the roster turnover.

update; This past weekend in American Pro Wrestling, Asp Evergreen & Eddie Chavez have won the tag team straps from Thaddeus Coleman & Ricky Foley. Evergreen and Chavez have been through a lot together having joined Mid-American Pro Wrestling near the same time as rookies, and earning their way up the ladder one rung at a time. They won the tag titles for the first time on June 25th 2005 beating Sean Waltman & Justin Credible. They would then lose those titles on Sep 12th, before regaining them on Dec 17th at the 26th Anniversary show from Sean Waltman & Chyna. That feud would go on to have a deeper meaning for the dynamic duo of American Pro Wrestling. They would go on to swap the titles again with Trevor Murdoch & Dustin Rhodes in 2006, and with the Natural Born Thrillers (O'Haire & Jindrack) in 2007, making them 4 time tag champions. However, it would be Asp's infatuation with Chyna, and their eventual marriage that caused a rift between the long time friends to open a gap big enough to swallow their history whole. A divorce, a short feud, and a Heavyweight title run for Eddie Chavez later, and finally Asp and Eddie would get back together as a team. This weekend marked the 5th championship reign for the tag team of Eddie Chavez and Asp Evergreen, only one short of six time champions The Spinebusters (Bryan Caruthers & Jerry Orth).

Match of the Year 1980: Jan 5th RCW #1 Finals for the New River City Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. The Destroyer defeated Mike Valiant when he countered a piledriver with a sunset flip then arched back and made the pinfall holding Valiants legs. 28:27 [The Destroyer wins the RCW Heavyweight Championship]
1981: March 28th: RCW #29 CAGE MATCH RCW Heavyweight Title Match Chris Lyons (ch) v The Mummy (/w Shiek Fal-Had) -Lyons was a house on fire for most of this match, until Fal-Had passed the Mummy a nail file that he stuck into his bandages, and then used on Lyons whenever the opportunity presented itself. The biggest opportunity came when the Destroyer came down to ringside to complain to the referee, and then when Shiek Fal-Had got into his face he dropped the manager with a right hand. All of this action however distracted the ref and allowed The Mummy to savage Lyons with the nail file as well as bites. Lyons' face was a bloodied mess. The Mummy put on the Arabian Spike nervehold and Lyons' was out in seconds. The Mummy wins via submission at 16:16. [The Mummy won the RCW Heavyweight Championship]
1982: Oct 24th: RCW #80 RCW Heavyweight Title Match Chris Lyon defeated The Destroyer by pinfall with a bridging pin at 32:46 [Chris Lyon wins the RCW Heavyweight Title] **This was the official title shot won by Lyon in the October battle royal. These two men have always put on a good match over the past 3 years in RCW and this was perhaps their best outing. Lyon did his best to cheat but the match remained one on one throughout. Lyon ended up getting the champ in the Boston crab on successive occasions, with the Destroyer spending long, damaging amounts of time in the move. Finally with the champ almost passed out, Lyon turned him over, bridged himself backward and pinned the champ.

Miller by pinfall after a front faceslam at 8:39 Kenny Ho defeated Dean Jarrett by pinfall after an illegal karate chop to the throat at 11:02 RCW Women's Title Match Lumberjack Match - featuring local female bodybuilders as lumberjacks Jeannie Rahib defeated Tawney England by pinfall after a hairplane spin at 7:35 [Jeannie Rahib retains the RCW Women's Title] **Corrie England tried to rush the ring but got caught by a couple of the lumberjacks who then escorted her away from ringside. RCW Television Title Match Bounty Hunter defeated Kerry Brown by pinfall after a lariat at 3:56 [Bounty Hunter retained the RCW Television Title] **Kerry came out before the match to demand his father's rematch at Bounty Hunter. Bounty Hunter gladly accepted and preceded to take apart the younger Brown. Brent Beck & Bonecrusher defeated Clarke Roenick & Mike Valiant by disqualification when Chris Lyon got caught interfering at 12:44 **Roenick had words with Lyon which resulted in a pushing match. Valiant tried to calm them down but when they kept pushing Valiant just threw up his hands and left. Roenick and Lyon then got into a real slugfest until officials interceded to restore order. RCW Tag Team Titles The Roughnecks: Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs defeated The Cuban & Iranian Assassin by submission when Riggs made the Iranian submit to the Texas Brainbuster at 10:30 [Roughnecks retain the RCW Tag Team Titles] MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Championship Match Chris Lyon defeated Buddy Lane by submission when Lane passed out while in the Boston crab at 24:40 [Chris Lyon retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Lane gave Lyon everything he could handle in this excellent match. [glow=red,2,300]February 19, 1983 River City Wrestling #89 Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB[/glow] Opening Match: Buddy Lane defeated Quinn Cyr by pinfall after a flying dropkick at 4:34 Women' Challenge Match: Corrie England defeated Lumberjack Lisa by pinfall after a side Russian legsweep at 6:13 **Corrie had challenged the Lumberjack from the January show who had physically stopped her from interfering on her sister's behalf. Lisa is a local bodybuilder and got in her fair share of punishment but Corrie wore her down with submission holds before putting her away fairly easy. Premiere: The Canadian Kodiaks (Bear & Claw) battled to a double countout brawl with the Cuban & Iranian Assassins at 11:30 **The Kodiaks appear after a recent stint in Mid-South wrestling. They are big, burly looking dudes. Chris Lyon defeated Clarke Roenick by pinfall following an elbowdrop from the top rope at 16:05 [Chris Lyon retained the RCW Heavyweight Title] **Former Triumverate mates went at it for the title, with the other Triumverate member Valiant as referee. It was a case of the RCW matchmakers letting the villians fight it out amongst themselves. Valiant was extremely leniant letting a lot of actions go that could have been called a DQ. However, he also called it right down the middle and didn't let either man try to seriously harm each other. In the end Lyon just had too much stamina for the bigger but winded Roenick. Following the 3 count Valiant quickly left the ringside area, then Lyon scooped up his belt and also left alone. Roenick was left in the ring alone, for the last time in an RCW ring after 3 years with the company.

I feel sorry for all of those people that showed up on December 3rd when the tag tournament wasn't until a week later. Poor fans.
I'm really surprised that the Destroyer hasn't regained his title yet. I'm kind of enjoying the new title scene with the Destroyer out of it though. I wonder if this will be the Destroyer's slow decline out of the fed?
Lyon as champion is working well. I am sad to see Roenick go, I always liked him.

So what was going on in the world in March 1983???
Billie Jean by Michael Jackson was the top song throughout the month of March. Other songs doing well that month included, Come on Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Let’s Dance by David Bowie, and She Blinded Me With Science by Thomas Dolby.
Tootsie, Gandhi, 48 Hours, and even E.T were still going strong at the box office despite already having been long released. Newer movies released in March included Fracis Ford Coppola’s “The Outsiders” from the book by S.E. Hinton. Spring Break was forgettable but topped the box office in its first week of release. Other forgettable releases included High Road to China, 10 to Midnight, Trenchcoat, Vigilante, Joysticks, and My Tutor.
On the small screen the final days of March saw the release of the TV mini-series “The Thorn Birds” which drew big ratings, a 41 rating and 59 share average.
In sports, March saw the birth of the much anticipated USFL (United States Football League). On March 20th the New Jersey versus Tampa Bay game in Giants Stadium draws the biggest crowd of the season 53,270.
In the news;
March 8th -- President Reagan calls the USSR the "focus of evil in the modern world" in a speech to an evangelical group in Orlando, FL.
March 23rd-- In a nationally televised speech, President Reagan proposes the Strategic Defense Initiative, a space-based defense system. Some scientists doubt the system's feasibility, and political opponents derisively label it "Star Wars."
March 28th Fred Jipp, who married 104 women in 28 countries over 30 years, is sent to a Phoenix prison for 28 years after being convicted of bigamy and fraud.
March 31 -- President Reagan refuses to approve the sale of F-16 fighter planes to Israel until it has withdrawn its troops from Lebanon.
Sony, Phillips, and Polygram launched the compact disc system, calling them unscratchable.

In-ring Interview: Ron Strong is with the victorious Adrian Adonis in the ring: Strong] Excellent first appearance Adrian.. Adonis] Shut up loser. That punk was from right here in Winnipig.. Strong] Winnipeg.. Adonis] Whatever. Nobody in New York City has even heard of this godforsaken city, so I'm not really sure why I'm even bothering here. Strong] I'm beginning to wonder myself. Surely you've heard of the Winnipeg Jets? Adonis] What is that some sort of fairy dance troupe? I really don't have time for your cheap plugs of your hometown buddy. I'm here to win some gold...quickly.
The interview is rudely interrupted by none other then former NWA United States Heavyweight Champion Greg Valentine who comes down to the ring. Adonis looks pissed off but is not yielding any room. Valentine throws up his hands to try and calm Adonis down. The fans are booing Valentine. Valentine] Listen Adrian, I know what your saying about being in this wasteland. Quite frankly I'm just here to capture the gold too, the belt being held right now by a nobody named... Valentine reaches into his pocket and takes out a scrap of paper. Valentine] Chris Lyon. And that's exactly how I will leave him, lying flat on his back, knocked out. Adonis] Okay look buddy. I respect you as a man who has held gold before, but this time on the mic, and this time here in RCW belongs to me. Adrian Adonis. Not you. So if you don't mind? Valentine] Well look here Mr. Adonis. At least you got a match tonight against that guy, I'm scheduled to fight some midget from Alberta J.D. Miller. The guy wants to be a cowboy, but he's only tall enough to ride a hobby horse. So, they're keeping me back...you too I know...to protect that local, paper champ, Lyon. So, I'll tell you what, I'm asking you man, as one champ to another, forgive my intrusion. Adonis looks skeptical and still a bit pissed off. Finally he throws up his hands and before he leaves says, Adonis] Fine. This time only. I think I've made my statement here tonight. Valentine] Now then, I've torn up RCW when I have wrestled here, and now I am signed up for a regular shot. So it should only be a matter of days before I hold the gold belt, unless the promoters hold me back, which they already are. So let this be the first and only warning I'm going to issue. I'm not playing around here kids. If you try to fight me, if you try to get in my way, I will hurt you. It may not be fair and square, but I will hurt you, and you will not get in my way again. Period. Strong] Well there you have it folks, not one, but two new incredible wrestling stars have joined the rank and file of River City Wrestling. Chris Lyon's tenure as RCW champion may be short indeed.

Backstage Interview: Mike Stone is backstage interviewing RCW Television champion Bounty Hunter. Stone] We just saw Buddy Lane beat Kenny Ho and earn a shot at your TV title. Are you concerned in the least about his challenge? Bounty Hunter] Hell yeah I'm concerned Stone. Lane might beat me for this title, I'm very concerned. I'm also very concerned that I might get struck by lightning on my way home. That has about as much chance of happening as Buddy Lane winning this belt from me. The boy is a punk kid, not old enough to shave. I've been up and down the highways, the original highwayman, kicking butt everywhere I go. Some little girl like Buddy Lane is not going to take away my belt, and neither are these Johnny come lately's like Valentine and Adonis. Does that answer your question Stone? Bounty Hunter walks away not waiting for Stone to respond, bumping the camera on his way out.

Post-Match: Greg Valentine re-applies the figure-four leglock on J.D. Miller. He ignores the protests of referee Mort Feinstein, as well as the 5 count being applied. Finally Miller screams in pain and then appers to pass out. Valentine releases the hold, roughly, and menaces the ref just as other RCW officials make it to the ring to try and restore order. Valentine goes to the announce table, grabs the microphone and stands on the table. Valentine] CHRIS LYON...I'm calling you out!! The fans boo Valentine, and wait, but nothing happens. Valentine] I knew you were yellow Lyon. Well eventually your going to have to show your ugly face around here and when you do... The fans actually cheer as Mike Valiant makes his way down the entranceway towards the announce table. Valiant steps onto the table and quickly pushes Valentine off drawing a cheer from the crowd. The crowd doesn't necessarily like Mike Valiant, the former triumverate team member of Chris Lyon's, but they enjoyed seeing Valentine land on his backside. Valentine though recovers, and as Valiant is reaching for a mic he pulls him off the table feet first. Valiant takes a nasty fall and Valentine is all over him peppering him with shots to the head. He then locks on the figure-four and it takes several RCW staff members to get him to break the hold. In the meantime they are removing J.D. Miller by stretcher from the ring, apparently with a broken leg. Valentine points at Miller and then screams at Valiant that he will be next if he gets in the way again.

[glow=red,2,300]March 19, 1983 River City Wrestling #91 Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB[/glow]
Announcers: Ron Strong & Mike Stone Ron Strong] Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another edition of River City Wrestling on CKY TV channel 5. Last week we saw the dynamic debut of one Adrian Adonis, but even he was upstaged by the havoc caused by the sadistic Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. Mike Stone] Well Ron, there's an old saying, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Johnny Valentine was one of not only the greatest wrestlers of all-time but also one of the meanest and merciless. River City Wrestling welcome to your part in the great Valentine legacy. Ron Strong] And tonight we have Greg Valentine in action again facing off against...oh this can't be right..Monte Black? Mike Stone] [laughing] Valentine warned them, he really did. Man he is going to be pissed off, I wouldn't want to be in Black's shoes, or rather his legs tonight! Ron Strong] Also, we have the RCW Television title on the line, and another premiere, the Junkyard Dog.

Post-Match: Like last week, after having his arm raised Valentine put the figure-four back on his opponent. This time RCW officials were quicker to the ring and managed to force Valentine to make the break before he could do too much damage to Black. However, Valentine then went after referee Mort Feinstein, knocking him to the ground and slapping the figure-four on him. Within seconds the referee was passed out, and RCW officials were dragging Valentine off the official. Valentine walked to the back jawing at fans as he went.
Backstage Interview: Ron Strong is in the backstage area alongside Mike Valiant. Strong] What caused you to come out and confront Greg Valentine last week? Valiant] You know what Strong...I don't know. I've always been a bit hot tempered and when I hear him running his mouth off about Chris Lyon and RCW...well...I might not be the most loved guy around here but I have my pride...pride in myself, and pride in this company. Strong] And how come Chris Lyon did not come out and defend his name himself? Valiant] Damn it Strong you're going to have to ask him yourself. I haven't seen him around much lately, and quite frankly that's fine by me. He abandoned me, our tag team, and put himself first. That ended our partnership...maybe not our friendship..but at least our partnership. Strong] Tonight you have first shot at the Junkyard Dog, and people have been pushing this match as possibly a top contender showdown, although the likes of the Destroyer, Valentine and Adonis might have something to say about that. Valiant] [pauses] Oh, was that a question? I didn't hear a question in that, so let me respond that I haven't seen the Destroyer around these parts either....even less then Chris Lyon has been around as of late. As for Valentine and Adonis, well I'm here and waiting. They are going to have to beat someone a bit more formible then Chris Pepper, Monte Black, or J.D Miller to get a title shot in RCW.

[glow=red,2,300]March 26, 1983 River City Wrestling #92 Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB[/glow]
Announcers: Ron Strong & Mike Stone Strong] Tonight’s main event will feature Mike Valiant putting his #1 contendership for the Heavyweight title on the line against Greg “the Hammer” Valentine in an effort to shut him up.
Stone] Well that’s what some people are choosing to believe, but others think that RCW champion Chris Lyon is trading on his friendship with Valiant to get him to take on Valentine so that Lyon can continue to duck him.
Strong] Either way it’s a tough call for fans who are put in the awkward position of watching two men fight it out, and probably wishing that both men go down to defeat. It’s a case of the devil you know against the devil you don’t.
Stone] And don’t forget we also have the Milkman, the Snake, Jake Milliman in action tonight! *Yawns*

In-ring interview; Mike Stone is in the ring to interview Mike Valiant
Stone] Welcome Mr. Valiant. You know I used to have a lot of respect for you. Unlike some people, including a friend of yours Chris Lyon, you sir had never pandered to the fans since coming to RCW. You have done it your way all the time, keeping the goal of being the champion at the forefront of your mind, and the way you conduct yourself. So, it comes as a bit of a surprise that after last week’s victory over Junkyard Dog, making you the #1 contender, and an automatic shot at RCW champion Chris Lyon, you would give that all up to take on Greg Valentine instead. Why? Are you running interference for your friend the champ so he can continue to hide from the Hammer?
Valiant] Well I’m glad I had your respect Stone, ‘cause you never had mine, losing all your matches you bum. I am the #1 contender, and when I beat Valentine tonight I will still be the #1 contender, and then I will take my shot next week against Lyon. To tell the absolute truth of the matter, I haven’t even spoken to Lyon in a couple of weeks, and have never spoken to him about Valentine. The reason I want to take on Valentine now, and to take him out, is simple. After the way he took me down off the announce table a couple weeks back and laid a licking on me, well I haven’t been able to concentrate on anything but revenge for the past couple of weeks. I’m not even sure how I managed to beat JYD, it must be that he is a over rated bum like you Stone. Eventually I will have to face Valentine anyway, so I might as well take him out today, get my revenge, and then worry about the title next week. And yes Stone, its all about the gold, and I will have the gold by the end of next week. Take it to the bank.
Stone] Are you not afraid of the figure-four..or as some are putting it after Valentine’s recent campaign of terror..the misfigure-four. This may be the last time we see you walking upright!
Valiant] No man here in RCW scares me. It’s just a move. It takes a long time to set-up and you have the advantage of leverage being on your back. I have practiced for that move tonight, and I don’t plan to being in that disadvantaged position long enough to get in that move.
Stone] Well I guess we’ll see about that…many a better established wrestler then you has fallen to that move. That’s tonight’s main event so fans stay tuned.

Special Challenge by the Canadian Kodiaks (Bear & Claw)
The big men enter the ring, followed by referee George Gadasky, and while Bear warms up and stretches out his arms and chest, his partner Claw reiterates their challenge. No one in RCW can break out of the Bear’s bearhug, and that includes the Bonecrusher who also uses the move as a finisher.
The challenge does not go unmet as Bonecrusher makes his way down to the ring. But before he can reach the ring we see a young, enthusiastic, if not undersized J.D. Miller run past Bonecrusher and into the ring. He takes the mic and says he wants to be the first challenger to make a name for himself. Bonecrusher has a smile on his face and waits outside the ring.
Bear shrugs as if to say “why not”, and applies the bearhug to Miller in the middle of the ring. Miller tries his best for a few seconds to break out of it by putting his hands between his body and Bear’s arms to no avail. After that he flails away with fists to the back of the head of Bear, but his fists soon lose all veracity. He is now limp and Bear shakes him around the ring before dumping him to the canvas as Bonecrusher steps into the ring to stop him.
Claw tries to step in the middle and Bonecrusher rocks him back to the corner with a forearm smash, and then tells him to stay put. He then allows Bear to apply the bearhug. He tries the same tactics as Miller, first trying to break the hands apart or get an arm between Bear’s arms and his own ribs. When this fails he tries fists which also don’t seem to work, although the effects are much more solid then they were with Miller. It appears as if Bonecrusher is pretty much gone limp. The ‘crusher though suddenly perks up and attempts to headbutt Bear. But he is only 5’8 while Bear goes about 6’4 so his head can only nail Bear in the chest. However, it rocks the Canadian Kodiak, so he follows it up with a second and a third headbutt to the chest. This backs Bear to just in front of the ropes. Referee Gadasky indicates that if Bear is backed into the ropes a break will be called for and Bonecrusher will have won the challenge. But before he can try another headbutt Claw comes from behind and drills a fist into the kidney area of Bonecrusher. Both Kodiaks now go to work on Bonecrusher with kicks and punches as he lay on the mat.
This continues for a minute until the RCW tag team champions, Stan Rodgers and Russel Riggs (the Roughnecks) hit the ring and go right after the Kodiaks. The four men battle inside and outside the ring with the Kodiaks finally being the first team to bail out.
They are calling for a stretcher and the medic on hand seems very concerned about Bonecrusher’s ribs and lungs.

Mike Valiant with a big upset of sorts to remain the #1 contender. Next week he will get his title shot against former triumverate team member and friend Chris Lyon, who we have not seen for the past month in RCW. That should be an interesting match indeed.

I'm liking the fact that there are more details now in the circuit. It helps make things interesting. One thing I would recommend is to drop the TNM match logs. If you could write a sentence or two to briefly describe what happened in the match, I think it will help in the long run.
Mike Valiant is my new favorite guy you have here. I am really excited to see how his match with Lyon goes. I also like how well you've captured the early '80s feel. Good stuff.
And I love the Kodiak challenge on this card. It was really, really well done. I caught myself cheering for both JD Miller and Bonecrusher.

I agree with Josh. The TNM logs make it a difficult read on here. But ultimately, it's what you're comfortable doing. The Kodiak Challenge was indeed awesome. I've always liked that angle - can you break this hold? It's great heel stuff. Don't see Valiant winning the title. Not yet anyway. It's gonna need to be a longer build than this, especially given how you book.

I agree with you guys. I was just cutting and pasting from my past results trying to catch up as fast as I could. Might be kind of fun to take the approach you guys suggest. This one hour format is pretty abbreviated and if I remember right it lasts only about a year until I go to two hours and replaced then TNM output with match descriptions. I guess I was also just trying to show or "prove" that I did run these on TNM since this is a TNM forum, and some people might not remember me from the John Manard - Xavier Flair days )
Thanks again for the feedback guys.

April 1983
At the box office... while Spring Break kept the #1 position at the box office for a second straight week, Monty Python’s Meaning of Life premiered at #6…and Screwballs premiered at #15. Tootsie then made a comeback and regained the #1 spot at the box office the following week despite it being the 17th week of release…the following weekend though would see two new movies at the top of the box office with Lone Wolf McQuade starring Chuck Norris edging out Flashdance at #1…those two movies would swap spots the next weekend…and on the final weekend in April Flashdance well on its way to being a mini cultural phenomenom, would hold off new movie releases Something Wicked This Way Comes, Valley Girl, and The Hunger to retain the # 1 position…still going strong were Tootsie at #3 in its 20th week of release, Gandhi at #7 in its 21st week, and E.T. at #12 in its 47th week,.

However, the league and its owners, as well as St. Louis mayor Vincent Schoemel Jr. moved to block the sale. The owners didn’t want a team to move to a smaller Canadian city, and they were unhappy with the $11.5 million price tag, even though it was what Ralston-Purina was willing to accept. In the end the move would be blocked, the Blues would stay in St. Louis, and for the first time an NHL franchise would not participate in the amateur draft as St. Louis opted out in protest of the NHL voting to block the sale. [glow=red,2,300]April 2, 1983 River City Wrestling #93 Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB[/glow] We are welcomed by the hosts Ron Strong & Mike Stone. Tonight's big main event will be Chris Lyon defending his RCW Heavyweight title against his friend, or perhaps former friend, Mike Valiant. Opening Bout: Junkyard Dog, 313 lbs, Charlotte, North Carolina v Kenny Ho,(/w Shiek Fal-Had) 203 lbs., Vancouver, BC Referee George Gadasky is very lenient early with Ho who risked DQ cheating to try and stay in this match, a follow up to last telecast's tag team match. Ho takes the match outside so Fal-Had can get some licks in, but JYD anticipates it and lays a beating on Fal-Had. He then brawls with Ho outside the ring, and back inside nails with with a solid shoulderbreaker to take control of the match. Ho tries to battle back but JYD is too big and strong and just shakes off the attacks. Ho goes for his illegal karate chop to the throat but JYD blocks it, and then moves out of the way of a standing dropkick attempt. He nails Ho with two consecutive kneeling headbutts and then nails the thump powerslam finisher.
Junkyard Dog pinned Kenny Ho with the Thump Powerslam in 0:06:18.
"Girl, it’s been a long time that we’ve been apart Much too long for a man who needs love I miss you since I’ve been away Babe, it wasn’t easy to leave you alone It’s getting harder each time that I go If I had the choice, I would stay"
"There’s no one like you I can’t wait for the nights with you I imagine the things we do I just wanna be loved by you"
Tawney & Corrie England make their way down to the ring where Ron Strong waits to interview them. Tawney has the RCW Women's title belt around her waist. Both sisters are wearing skin tight designer Jordache jeans, and sporting a "Scorpions" and "Judas Priest" 3/4 sleeve baseball style concert shirt respectively. Tawney answers the crowd's taunts by shaking her ass and after licking a finger she places it on her butt. Strong] All class as always I see... Tawney] *wraps a seductive arm around Strong* Strong...just like your name...how would you like a screw? Strong] Pardon me? Tawney] I'm just a lonely gal on the road, surrounded by all these strong men, and so I was just hoping you might want a good screw? Strong] Well maybe later I guess...OUCH..what the heck was that? Strong looks down at his hand which is bleeding. Strong] You pushed a screw into my hand..what the heck were you thinking? Tawney] I was trying to make a point Ron. First of all, it hurts to get screwed...and secondly sometimes people lie and decieve. When RCW brought in the women's title I thought, great, we have finally made it. Then they get this new TV deal and we don't get any spots for a month? I feel lied to and screwed over. How about you Corrie? Corrie] We all feel that way Tawney. So if it takes wearing tight jeans and talking dirty to get on TV then that is what we are going to do. Tawney] Next week I finally get the chance to get back into the ring and will face my old adversary Jeannie Rahib. Jeannie, this beating you over and over again is getting old and tiresome. I need some new blood to face, and either it has to come to here in RCW, or I need to leave for greener pastures. So RCW make up your mind. Corrie] She's right, and if she goes, I go too. The fans start to chant "Go Away..Go away". Tawney] That's it. Someone is going to go away all right, but it isnt' going to be me. It's going to be that fat hipped Rahib that you all like so much. There isn't enough room in this town for both of us..and I mean that literally. Next week not only will this belt be on the line, but if she accepts the challenge, it will also be a loser leaves town match. Corrie] *takes Strong's bleeding hand and gently wraps a bandana around where it is bleeding* I guess Alice Cooper was wrong Ron, it appears that men bleed too.
Bout #2 RCW Television Title Match Return Bout - No Countout, No Disqualification
The Bounty Hunter (champion), 275 lbs., El Paso, Texas v Buddy Lane, 225 lbs., Winnipeg, Manitoba
It looks like a mistake early on when Lane tries to fight fire with fire and duke it out with the bigger champion, but he manages to make his point and then take it to the ground where he gets a series of leg locks on the champ. They trade the advantage back and forth a couple times in a fairly high paced bout. Hunter goes for a Western Lariat but in the spirit of the rules Lane rakes Hunter's face. Lane puts Hunter in a wasitock, rides him to the buckle, then monkey flips him across the ring. Lane then tosses the champ out of the ring, but when he goes for a baseball slide Hunter moves out of the way. The champ is relentless now outside the ring with a vicious elbowsmash, fireman's carry into a slam, then throws him into the ringsteps then the ringpost. A bulldog and another fireman's carry slam is made possible because of the no countout clause. Finally the champ rolls Lane back into the ring puts him on the top buckle and finishes him off.
The Bounty Hunter pinned Buddy Lane after a top-rope German Suplex in 0:12:05.
[The Bounty Hunter retained the RCW Television Championship.]
In-ring Interview: The fans go crazy when 2-time former RCW Heavyweight Champion, The Destroyer walks to the ring where Ron Strong awaits to interview him. The Destroyer acknowledges the crowd with some waves and a small bow. Strong] Well it seems that they remember you still. Where have you been? Destroyer] I needed some time off to recover, its been a tough 12 months and I'm not as young as I used to be. Strong] What brings you back now? Destroyer] The fans brought me back. I could have used another month off but when I see Greg Valentine running around *the fans boo* doing as he sees fit, when I see Chris Lyon hiding the RCW title from competition *again the fans boo*, and when I see no white knights to stand up and keep things honest around here..well, it's good to be back. Strong] What's your first order of business? Destroyer] Next week I have a tune up match against the Iranian Assassin. I know this is Canada, but as an American let's just say that I have not forgotten what Iran did to the American hostages. It's payback time and Assassin you have some receipts coming your way. After that, well I think its time to return the River City gold to some lustre. I intend to take back my belt and shine it up real good for all to see. Strong] I know that I am not alone when I say welcome back, and good luck to you sir. Destroyer] Thank you very much Ron, and all the best to my great fans here in River City.
Bout #3: Kerry Brown & J.D. Miller, combined weight of 430 lbs. v The Canadian Kodiaks (Bear & Claw), combined weight of 628 lbs.
Glorified squash match, here is the end. J.D. Miller uses a European uppercut on Bear. J.D. Miller tags out to Kerry Brown. J.D. Miller enters the ring to make it two-on-one. J.D. Miller nails Bear with a clothesline. Kerry Brown locks Bear in a sleeperhold. Bear is struggling to reach the ropes. Bear is valiantly trying to break the hold. Bear breaks the hold after 9 seconds. J.D. Miller leaves the ring. Kerry Brown hits a short clothesline on Bear. There are lots of chants for Kerry Brown. Kerry Brown goes for a forearm to the back, but Bear side-steps and Kerry Brown only hits air. Bear executes the Bearhug on Kerry Brown. Kerry Brown is valiantly trying to break the hold. Kerry Brown is inching his way towards the ropes. Kerry Brown is writhing in pain. George Gadasky checks Kerry Brown's arm. He lifts it... it falls. He lifts it... it falls. He lifts it... it falls. George Gadasky stops the match after 13 seconds. The Canadian Kodiaks defeated J.D. Miller and Kerry Brown when Bear made Brown submit to the Bearhug in 0:05:11.
Post-Match: Mike Stone enters the ring to interview the Canadian Kodiaks. The big pair say they are done with wrestling Winnipeg's bums. They want the champs the Roughnecks and they intend to tear off their limbs.
MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Championship Match Chris Lyon (champion), 236 lbs., Winnipeg, Manitoba v Mike Valiant, 234 lbs., New York City, New York
The fans cheers don't seem to make Valiant think he has to play by the rules as he goes right after Lyon with punches and an eye gouge. However when he takes the match outside the champ fires back takes the match over sending Valiant head first into the guardrail. The match has a fast paced tempo with the advantage changing back and forth quickly, no restholds, and often spilling outside the ring. The match is then edited for time on television. Valiant has control but tries to rest with a side headlock and Valiant takes control with a pumphandle slam. But this advantage does not last long either as the two men appear to be evenly matched and to know each other too well. Outside the ring Valiant whips Lyon into the guardrail, kicks him in the gut, throws him into the guardrail again, and then nails him with a running double axhandle to the back before rolling him back inside the ring, confident of his control over the match. Greg Valentine comes down to ringside to watch. Valiant goes for an elbow from the top rope but Lyon rolls out of the ring. Lyon then follows up by smashing Valiant's head off the canvas again. Lyon nails Valiant with a pumphandle slam, but when he goes for the pin Valentine enters the ring and breaks up the pin attempt.
Chris Lyon defeated Mike Valiant by disqualification in 0:16:53. [Chris Lyon retained the RCW Heavyweight Championship.] [match edited for time, approximately 10 minutes shown]
Post-Match: A 3 way brawl errupted with Valentine, Valiant, and Lyon all going at it. Lyon soon snuck out of the ring though, grabbed his belt and headed for the hills, leaving the two challengers duking it out in the ring. However, as Lyon walked away he was confronted by The Destroyer who stared him down before allowing him to pass. Back inside the ring Valiant finally threw Valentine out of the ring to end the skirmish.

This format is much better. Easier to read, easier to follow. Really liked this card. Good to see the Destroyer back, and this four way feud for the Heavyweight Title is a great program up top. The England sisters interview was great. Seriously, seriously well done. By the way, I remember this circuit from that old forum, worry not.

[glow=red,2,300]April 9, 1983 River City Wrestling #94 Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB[/glow]
We are welcomed by the hosts Ron Strong & Mike Stone. First we are told that Junkyard Dog sustained some ligament damage to his left knee last week and will most likely be out until early to mid May. They then remind us that last week’s show ended when the main event match for the RCW Heavyweight title between Chris Lyon and Mike Valiant ended with Greg Valentine interfering to ruin the match. Therefore the promoter of RCW Marty Goldstein has set up a special main event tag team match for tonight which will see Lyon & Valiant team up against Valentine and Adrian Adonis!
“No One Like You” by the Scorpions serenades the England sisters, Tawney & Corrie down to the ring for the opening bout. This was made from the challenge last week. Corrie tries to stay down at ringside but is sent to the back by referee George Gadasky.
Opening Bout: RCW Women’s Championship Match Loser Leaves Town Match Tawney England (champion), Winnipeg, Manitoba V Jeannie Rahib, Toronto, Ontario
Despite being the hometown gal, Tawney’s vicious turn last year has left her as the villain in this match. The fans boo her unmercifully, and chant “You’re a Boot, You’re a boot” at her throughout the bout. It’s a nasty back and forth catfight, in and out of the ring. Rahib gets her Indian deathlock submission finisher on England but its too close to the ropes and the champ manages to get a break. England comes back and takes Rahib down with a hairplane spin and then a flying dropkick right to the face of the kneeling Rahib. The pin attempt however only yielded a 2 count. The action spilled outside the ring, and Tawney managed to send Rahib head first into the guardrail. She then went back into the ring and distracted the ref while Corrie England reappeared from the back and nailed Jeannie in the back of the leg with a chair before disappearing again to the back. Tawney went to work with a series of kicks and stomps, before locking on a figure-four which quickly made Rahib submit.
Tawney England made Jeannie Rahib submit to the figure-four leglock at 8:03 [Tawney England retains the RCW Women’s Championship] **Jeannie Rahib is now forced to leave RCW.
Bout #2 RCW Tag Team Title Match
The Roughnecks: Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs (champions), combined weight of 555 lbs. v. Canadian Kodiaks: Bear & Claw, combined weight of 628 lbs.
The challengers make the Roughnecks look like Lou Thesz by comparison. However, the kick, punch, stomp, rake, attack by the Kodiaks yields an early advantage and finds Rodgers in trouble in the opening minutes. The match is then left in progress, and edited for time. Riggs and Rodgers are on the comeback trail and use some leeway from the ref to doubleteam Bear. Riggs knocks Claw off the ring apron, before nailing Bear with a kick to the head on his way out of the ring. Rodgers the legal man follows up with a full nelson faceslam. However, instead of going for the win the match spills outside where it turns into a four man brawl. Although the champs got the better of the brawl Claw stopped Rodgers from reentering the ring at the last second to get the 10 count.
The verdict: A DOUBLE COUNTOUT !
The Canadian Kodiaks and The Roughnecks battled to a double countout in 0:10:40 [The Roughnecks retained the RCW Tag Team Championships.] **Approximately 5 minutes shown on television
Backstage interview: Ron Strong is backstage with a worried looking promoter Marty Goldstein, who keeps smacking a rolled up piece of paper into his hand. Goldstein calls for Chris Lyon to join the interview.
Goldstein] Chris I’m afraid I have some bad news for you.
Lyon] Well spit it out geek, the champion doesn’t have all day you know. I have to prepare for tonight’s main event against two of the greatest wrestlers in the world, Adrian Adonis and Greg Valentine. And I haven’t even seen my partner Mike Valiant yet. Goldstein] Well I’m afraid that’s the bad news. You see I just received word that Valiant was ambushed in the backstage area when he arrived earlier tonight, and has been taken to the hospital to recover. You are going to need a new partner for tonight’s main event, or go it alone.
Lyon] Who was responsible for this Goldstein? Who? Don’t make me beat it out of you!
Goldstein] We have no idea, we’re looking into it. What you should be doing is worrying about finding a partner for tonight.
Lyon] Don’t tell me my business buck-o. I WILL have a partner tonight and we will beat Valentine and Adonis. And Mike Valiant, when you are watching this tape later, know one thing. If I find out that you left me hi and dry on purpose, or deceived me in any way, I will cripple you. You will spend the rest of your days sitting in a wheelchair, drooling over orange jello.
Bout #3 The Destroyer, 252 lbs., parts unknown V The Iranian Assassin, 255 lbs., Tehran, Iran
Destroyer starts with a slow methodical attack that has made him a champion, but shows a bit more emotion then usual pumping his fists to get the crowd going. The Iranian can only get an advantage by racking the eyes of the Destroyer, a move somewhat negated by the mask. After a short sequence out of the ring back inside both men go down with a double clothesline. Destroyer is first on his feet and back in control of the match taking the Assassin down with flying headscissors, followed by a backdrop, kneedrop, dropkick, and Samoan Drop (now that's a lot of drops). After only getting a two count he goes for a leglock instead but the Iranian Assassin gets to the ropes. The Destroyer however will not be denied tonight and he continues the attack with another Samoan drop, and his opponent only survives by taking a powder out of the ring. The Assassin takes as much time as he can, thinks about walking away, and then tries to sneak back into the ring and attack Destroyer from behind. The masked former champ though catches his opponent with a clothesline. When he goes for a waistlock suplex however, the Iranian rakes his eyes, then nails a double axhandle, follows up with a piledriver, gets a 1, 2 KICKOUT! The Iranian goes for a grapevine but the Destroyer counters with a small package, 1, 2, kickout, Destroyer goes immediately to a double leg takedown into a victory roll, 1, 2, 3 !!
The Destroyer pinned The Iranian Assassin after a Victory Roll in 0:05:53.
Post-Match Interview: Following the match The Destroyer is interviewed by Ron Strong. Strong compliments the former champion on one of his usual methods of operation, snatching victory from the jaws of certain defeat. The masked idol of RCW just humbly thanks his fans for their support, and dedicates the victory to the hostages and families of the Iranian embassy hostage crisis. The Destroyer then refers to tonight’s main event as a rogue’s gallery, and says he does not care what happens. However, he throws an open challenge out to any of them to step into the ring with him, a real technician.
Main Event Special Tag Team Match
Kenny Ho & Chris Lyon (/w Shiek Fal-Had), combined weight of 439 lbs. v. Adrian Adonis & Greg Valentine, combined weight of 488 lbs.
Chris Lyon's selection of Kenny Ho for his corner may have been more to get the services of the devious Shiek Fal-Had then his actual partner Ho. Valentine immediately goes to work on Ho, and has the Asian star in big trouble. He tags out to Adonis and after a brief double team Adonis continues the beatings. Lyon stands on the ring apron stoic and quiet. Finally Ho manages to tag in the reluctant looking champion. Lyon's short flury ends however when he is double teamed, double vertical suplex, with Ho in no shape yet to offer resistance. The match degenerates into a constant series of interferences however Lyon is unable to get a tag out to Ho and is getting very worn down. We cut away from the action, and the match is edited for time. Lyon is on the comeback trail and hits Adonis with a backbreaker, goes for the Boston crab finisher but Adonis kicks him off. Adonis tags out and he and Valentine do a quick double team with a double back suplex. Lyon had missed an opportunity to tag out and now looks like he will pay the price. Valentine punishes Lyon but when the champ makes a comeback started by Valentine rushing into the corner only to eat an elbow from Lyon, Adrian Adonis comes in and tosses Lyon out of the ring. Kenny Ho comes around to help his partner but Adonis and Valentine double team him because Lyon is still out of it, then they double team the Shiek (and get a nice ovation for their actions). Back inside Valentine does manage to tag in Ho, but Valentine goes right to work on Ho as well. Soon he has the figure-four leglock on and the only way it is broken is when the ref turns his back to the Shiek to ask Ho if he submits, and the Shiek reaches into the ring and pulls Ho to the ropes for a break. Ho goes for a Japanese armdrag takedown but his legs give out from under him. Valentine nails a gutwrench suplex, get a 1, 2, kickout. finish; Greg Valentine hits Kenny Ho with a back suplex. Adrian Adonis enters the ring to make it two-on-one. Chris Lyon jumps off the ring apron and watches from the arena floor. Greg Valentine and Adrian Adonis whip Kenny Ho into the ropes. They hit Kenny Ho with a double elbowsmash. Adrian Adonis leaves the ring. Greg Valentine whips Kenny Ho into the ropes. Greg Valentine takes Kenny Ho down with a chop. [glow=red,2,300]April 16, 1983 River City Wrestling #95 Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB[/glow] We are welcomed by the hosts Ron Strong & Mike Stone.
It is announced that Mike Valiant actually identified Greg Valentine and Adrian Adonis as the ones who attacked him backstage last week and knocked him out of the main event. Marty Goldstein is said to be looking into those allegations.
Tonight's opening bout will feature Bonecrusher trying to get a little revenge against Canadian Kodiak Claw, after being suckered from behind during a special bearhug challenge.
Opening Bout: Bonecrusher, 240 lbs., Reno, Nevada V Claw, 308 lbs., Wilds of the Yukon
Claw controls early using his big height and weight differential to wear down 'crusher with the ol' standing headlock of doom. Bonecrusher made a couple of comebacks but they didn't last long against his bigger opponent. However, the tag champ Roughnecks came down to ringside, and this little distraction proved be be enough to help Bonecrusher rally. Claw though once again asserted his dominance and nailed a belly to belly suplex and then continued to pound on his opponent. However, Bonecrusher blocked a punch and went on the offensive. Three consecutive hiptosses to disorientate Claw and then he locked on his own version of the bear hug and forced Claw to submit as 'crusher may be only 240 lbs, but he's ripped and earned his moniker honestly.
Bonecrusher made Claw submit to the Bearhug in 0:06:57.
Post-Match: Bear hits the ring to help out his partner nailing Bonecrusher from behind. However, the tag team champs the Roughnecks were only seconds behind, and 3-on-2 they forced the Canadian Kodiaks out of the ring. Backstage interview; Ron Strong holds a microphone for RCW matchmaker Marty Goldstein. Goldstein] As a result of the recent turmoil in the heavyweight ranks I've been forced to make some difficult decisions regarding title shots and contenders. First off, Mike Valiant defeated Greg Valentine but was unable to participate in last week's big main event tag team match due to being attacked by Valentine and Adonis. Greg Valentine and Adrian Adonis did win that match, helping Valentine's claim to be the #1 contender. We also have the return of the RCW legend The Destroyer. Surely he ranks consideration for a title shot as well. So, this is the decision I have made. Tonight's main event will feature Chris Lyon defending his RCW Heavyweight title in a return match against Mike Valiant. If anyone interferes in this match they will face a one month suspension, and not be eligible for any title shots in RCW for a year. Whomever comes out of that main event for the title will have a new #1 contender to face. Next week we will feature a bout between The Destroyer and Greg Valentine to determine just who will be that #1 contender.
Tonight's second bout is a return bout from a few weeks back which saw Jake Milliman do the unthinkable and take the Cuban Assassin to a 20-minute time limit draw. Bout #2 Jake Milliman, 240 lbs, Nashville, TN V Cuban Assassin, 231 lbs., Havana, Cuba
Jake is feeling confident and goes right to work on the Assassin even nailing a back suplex. But the Cuban manages to reverse the momentum fairly quickly. Jake though battles back and goes to work on the Cuban. But when he tries for another back suplex the Cuban anticipates the move and turns in mid-air landing on Jake for the 1, 2, Kickout. The Cuban nails a double axhandle chop followed by a piledriver for the 1, 2, 3.
The winner is The Cuban Assassin.
The Cuban Assassin pinned Jake Milliman after a piledriver in 0:02:16.
In-ring interview: "No One Like You" plays and the England sisters, Tawney and Corrie make their way down to the ring where Mike Stone is waiting to interview them. Tawney is carrying the RCW Women's title over her shoulder. Mike Stone] Ladies, congratulations on your victory last week, and thanks to you we will not be forced to watch the jello hips of Jeannie Rahib ever again in RCW. Corrie] Exactly Mike, you and all these fans owe us a big favor. I mean look at us, we're hot...damn hot, Mike...not like that fat Jeannie. The fans begin to chant "Boot, boot, boot" Tawney] Do you hear that Corrie? You know what I'm sick of this. Yes its true, under you I have found greater success, and without you, and frankly without cheating I wouldn't have this gold belt. She tosses the belt to the ground But at least I'd be able to look in the mirror again, and be able to stand in a ring and not be called a boot!! The fans cheer Tawney's defiance. Corrie looks shocked, and pissed off, as does Stone. Tawney though takes the mic and addresses the crowd. Tawney] I am so very sorry for what I have done, the way I have acted as of late, and for disappointing you fans. From now on I will do the honorable thing.. Corrie snatches the mic from Tawney's hand and pushes her away. Tawney stumbles backward into the turnbuckle. Corrie] Now just hold on a second, sister. You are not done until I tell you, you are done. Your right that without my help you wouldn't have that belt, and I can tell you who would have it, ME. I'm tired of being in your shadow big sister, and frankly I think it's time that I liberate that belt from you anyway. Tawney] Bring it on boot. But before you do that I would like to send a message out to Jeannie Rahib that you should show up next week. And together me and you will take on Corrie and a partner of her choice. Corrie] No way, she lost a loser leaves town match, so her big butt is gone. Tawney] Well I understand that, I can see you are chicken. Corrie] Don't push me.. Tawney] Boot. Chicken. Boot little sister. Corrie] Fine. I'll get me a partner and we'll meet you two next week, but if we win then the little loser leaves town stipulations stick. Tawney] You're on! The girls leave the ring apart from each other, Tawney stopping to high five the crowd while Corrie storms off sulking.
Bout #3 RCW Television Title Match The Bounty Hunter, (champion) 275 lbs., El Paso, Texas V Keith Hart, 214 lbs., Calgary, Alberta
The Bounty Hunter may be a hated villian but he does seem willing to take on all comers for his belt. Keith Hart tries a stick and move attack using his speed advantage to duck away from a clothesline attempt and attack the knee of the champ. Next he takes the champ down with neck scissors and then turns his attention just above the knee by attacking the thigh with some solid kicks. The attacks seem to work as the big man is hobbling around the ring on a bad wheel. Next Hart tosses the champ out of the ring forcing him to land hard, and then have to beat the count back into the ring. Hart nails a Dragon suplex and gets the 1, 2, SHOULDER UP! Hart continues his full out assault with a somersault splash, elbowsmash, and flying fistdrop. Another Dragon suplex, and again its a 2 count and the shoulder comes up. Hart again tosses the champ to the floor to cause more damage to the bad wheel, but this looks like a mistake. Hunter seems to gather himself and once back inside the ring he reverses a whip into the ropes and then nails Hart with a shoulderblock. Hunter looks to have control back, but when he goes for a simple bodyslam, he hesitates under the weight, his knee buckling, and Hart manages to wrap his legs around the champ's head and take him down with flying headscissors. Hart goes to work with a low tech attack of kicks and punches and then punctuates it with a bulldog. Hart whips a dazed Hunter off the ropes but the champ ducks away from a clothesline and comes off the far ropes with a spear on the challenger. Both men take a few seconds to recover and Hart is up first and goes for a Somersault slam, but the champ counters with a crucifix! He goes for the pin and gets a 2 count. The champ pulls Hart up by the hair and nails him with the Western Lariat finisher, and this time there is no question about it, 1, 2, 3!
The Bounty Hunter pinned Keith Hart with the Western Lariat in 0:05:19. [The Bounty Hunter retained the RCW Television Championship.]
Backstage Interview; The Canadian Kodiaks, Bear & Claw are interviewed by Ron Strong. They say that tonight's loss to The Bonecrusher was a result of bad luck and bad officiating. That's why they prefer tag teaming, because with two of them they don't have to have their fortunes tied to fate. They still insist they are the #1 contender for the tag titles and demand a title shot next week against the Roughnecks.
MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Title Match Chris Lyon, (champion) 236 lbs., Winnipeg, Manitoba v Mike Valiant, 234 lbs., New York City, New York
Lyon has the strap and two pounds on Valiant, but the challenger has about 2 inches in height and a couple years experience advantage on his former friend. The two men stand toe to toe to start the festivities and trade haymakers. Lyon sneaks in a kick to the "lower" gut and gets in an early piledriver and a near fall to exert his claim to the belt. He follows up with a finesse move of a side cradle but again only gets a 2 count. The crowd was absolutely electric in the early going for this match. Valiant did not disapoint them as he became the default fan favorite, and mounted an attack on the champ including a shoulderblock, vertical suplex, and a diving elbowsmash but could not finish off the champ. Chris Lyon made several short comebacks but Valiant seemed to tap into his anger and kept coming at the champ. He tried for several submission finishers including a cross armbar but the champ kept finding ways to weasel out. Lyon had one attempt to put his Boston crab finisher on Valinat but was kicked off. Several minutes later though after a short flury he was able to lock it in and even though Valiant finally fought his way out of the hold after a minute, the whole tone of the match had obviously changed. But not for long as Valiant once again pushed back against the champ and looked like he would not be denied on this day. A couple near falls after a small package and again after a diving elbowsmash had the fans on their feet in anticipation. Lyon though battled back and took Valiant down with a high knee, and then put the Boston crab finisher on again. It was too close to the ropes though and Valiant reached them after a few seconds. The challenger stormed back with a vertical suplex, double axhandle chop, and another vertical suplex. He sent Lyon to the ropes but the champ nailed him with a flying knee, driving him to the mat. When Valiant got to his feet Lyon nailed him with a flying dropkick and covered for 1, 2, kickout. Lyon whipped Valiant to the ropes and a criss-cross sequence ensued with Lyon missing an elbow attempt, and Valiant missing with a legdrop. Lyon then scooped up the challenger and nailed him with a slingshot suplex which generally, and in this case it proved to be true, is followed up with a Boston crab. Valiant tried, well, valiantly to get to the ropes but could not manage it, and eventually had to cry uncle.
The winner is Chris Lyon. Chris Lyon made Mike Valiant submit to a Boston crab in 0:18:25. [Chris Lyon retained the RCW Heavyweight Championship.] Chris Lyon celebrates with his RCW Heavyweight title. That's it for another edition of River City Wrestling. Next week's show will feature a #1 contenders match between the Destroyer and Greg Valentine.

I'm getting into the sister angle. It's usually pretty hard for me to become interested in a women's angle in a men's circuit, but you have done a good job so far with it.
The match between the Destroyer and Valentine should be a good one. I have to think that the Destroyer goes over, but I also don't think he's regaining the gold quite yet. I'm not sure what the booking will be for all of this, and that is a good thing.
Sad to see Valiant lose, but Lyon-Destroyer is a money match.
Looking forward to where all of this goes.
Oh, and I agree with Ryan, this format is a lot better and easier to read. Good stuff!
