[glow=red,2,300]September 12, 1981 River City Wrestling #38 Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg, Manitoba[/glow]
Last warm-up show before RCW hits the big time with a show at the Winnipeg Arena on September 26th.
Opening Bout: Kenny Ho defeated Chrisscat by submission with the stomach claw at 9:31 Special Challenge Match: (Lady v Midget) Jeannie Rahib & Billy the Kid battled to a double countout at 6:45 **Billy the Kid came out prior to the match and challenged the "unofficial" RCW Women's champion to a match as there doesn't seem to be any worthy women, it was up to him, a man, to put her in her place. Rahib accepted the challenge but was only on-site to sign autographs tonight and didn't have her wrestling gear on. She had to fight wearing an extremely tight pair of designer jeans. Not much of a match, mostly a hair pulling, slap filled fight that spilled out of the ring. Premiere Appearance: Bonecrusher defeated Russel Riggs by submission to the bearhug at 3:55. **Newcomer Bonecrusher is a short (5'7) muscular, and thick man (240 lbs.) and apparently has an incredible squueze as he quickly submitted the former RCW tag team champion. After the match Stan Rodgers looked to take a run at Bonecrusher but decided that discretion was the better part of valor. Special Match: Clarke "Stampede" Roenick defeated Stan Rodgers by countout at 7:02 **Roenick controlled most of this match and finally Rodgers just let himself get counted out. RCW Tag Team Title Match Royal Kiwis (Kelly Hobin & Keith McIvor) (champions) v Les Voyageurs (Jacques LaToque & Luc Lagimodiere) Les Voyageurs defeated the Kiwis by disqualificiation at 14:40. **This was a pretty even match, but finally it looked like the Kiwis had control and were ready to finish it off. Lagimodiere made sure he "accidently" bumped into the ref which allowed LaToque to retrieve a chair and nail Hobin. When he tried to do the same to McIvor the Kiwi wrestled the chair away and then waffled both Voyageurs. Of course the ref awoke to see McIvor standing with the chair and called for the DQ. [Royal Kiwis retain the RCW Tag Team Titles] MAIN EVENT Handi-Cap Match The Destroyer v Mike Valiant & Chris Lyon Destroyer started strong and dominated first Valiant and then Lyon. However the villians soon took over with the inevitable cheating and doubleteaming. This brought Clarke Roenick down to the ring to try and stand in the corner of the Destroyer. The ref though wouldn't allow it and argued with Roenick before banishing him to the back. In the meantime this allowed Valiant and Lyon free reign and they punished the Destroyer with double team moves. The Destroyer kicked out of several pin attempts and seemed to be gathering momentum as the villians grew frustrated. Roenick returned to ringside, this time hiding from the ref by crouching alongside the ring apron. When the time was right he interfered - but instead of helping the Destroyer he used his arms to hold down the Destroyer's legs on a pin attempt, and allowed Lyon and Valiant to pick up the win. [Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant defeated the Destroyer at 17:47 when Lyon pinned the Destroyer thanks to outside interference by Clarke Roenick] After the match Roenick joined Lyon & Valiant in the ring, and the 3 stood together, united, hand shakes all around.
[glow=red,2,300]September 26, 1981 River City Wrestling #39 Winnipeg Arena, Winnipeg, Manitoba[/glow] Opening Bout: Shiek Fal-Had pinned Danny Potenza after a low blow undetected by the referee at 3:12 **FAl-Had made his in-ring premiere and cheated his way past young Potenza Tag Team Action: The Roughecks defeated Kenny Jay & Chris Pepper by pinfall when Rodgers pinned Jay after a powerslam at 5:54. **The Roughnecks absolutely dominated the veteran tandem of Jay & Pepper. Midget Action: Billy the Kid defeated Tiny Thumb by pinfall after a bulldog at 6:01 **Billy the Kid used the ropes for leverage on the pin. This brought out Jeannie Rahib to protest, only for her to be attacked by BtK. Tiny Thumb though came to Rahib's aid. Women's Action: Jeannie Rahib defeated Ultra Venus by disqualification at 8:08 due to outside interference. **Billy the Kid came from the back and attacked Rahib with a bullwhip. Tiny Thumb tried to come to her resuce again but he was taken down by Ultra Venus and the villians embarrased the fan favorites with tandem spankings. Return of Timmy Rich: Bonecrusher defeated Timmy Rich by submission with the bearhug at 9:00. **Yes Rich still had the Tennessee Jr. Heavyweight bogus title but Bonecrusher was over the weight so could not "win" it. After the match Rich told the fans he would never come back to this two-bit town (which garnered cheers). RCW Tag Team Title Match Royal Kiwis (Kelly Hobin & Keith McIvor) defeated Les Voyageurs (Jacques LaToque & Luc Lagimodiere) by pinfall when Hobin pinned LaToque after a piledriver at 18:30 **Hard fought and even match but the champions prevailed cleanly. [Royal Kiwis retain the RCW Tag Team Titles] Special Appearances: Moose Morowski defeated Bulldog Bob Brown by pinfall at 9:36 **Morowski, a former villian, returned to the favor of the fans by taking on the big mouthed Brown and besting him for the fans. Extra Special Tag Team Match: Mike Valiant & Chris Lyon batted Kelly Kiniski & Ron Ritchie to a 25:00 draw. **even match but Valiant and Lyon battled the last 5 minutes to stay alive. Lyon was a blood mess by the end of the bout. MAIN EVENT RCW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH The Destroyer (champion) v Clarke Roenick **Valiant and Lyon were in no shape after their tag match to try and help out their new teammate Roenick. Destroyer wanted revenge but made a couple of crucial mistakes in the early going being too aggressive. Roenick controlled most of the middle of the match but was unable to put the champion away. The Destroyer rallied back and finished off Roenick with a German Suplex at 21:10 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title]
[glow=red,2,300]September 27, 1981 River City Wrestling #40 Keystone Center, Brandon, MB[/glow] **RCW historic card, our first road trip !! Opening Bout: Eric Lee defeated Ashley Shade by pinfall after an illegal karate chop to the throat at 8:05. Special Match: Shiek Fal-Had cheated his way to victory by pinfall over Danny Potenza thanks to the use of a pair of brass knux at 10:55 Mixed Tag Match (Women & Midgets): Tiny Thumb & Jeannie Rahib defeated Billy the Kid & Ultra Venus by pinfall when Thumb pinned Kid after Rahib bodyslammed Thumb onto Kid at 9:07 Special Appearance: Timmy Rich defeated Chrisscat by pinfall after a flying bulldog from the top rope at 7:35 Keith McIvor defeated Jacques LaToque by pinfall with a powerslam at 15:51 Luc Lagimodiere defeated Kelly Hobin by pinfall with a sideslam at 6:20. MAIN EVENT 6-Man Tag Team Match 2 out of 3 Falls The Destroyer / Kelly Kiniski / Ron Ritchie v Chris Lyon / Mike Valiant / Clarke Roenick **The three men in the new triumverate (Lyon, Maverick, and Roenick) had a bit of a squabble before the match over who was billed in what spot on advertising flyers and as announced. This allowed the fan favorites to get the jump on them. **Kiniski pinned Maverick to take the 1st fall at 4:47 **Lyon made Ritchie submit to the Boston Crab to take the 2nd fall at 11:40 **Destroyer pinned Roenick after a flying crucifix to take the 3rd and deciding fall at 18:28.

[glow=red,2,300]October 10, 1981 River City Wrestling #41 Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg, Manitoba[/glow] Opening Bout: Chrisscat defeated Tom Stone by pinfall after a flying crossbody block at 4:29 Premiere: The Outsiders: Johnny Rivale & Curtis Simpson defeated Nacho Buerrera & Puppy Dog Pelequin by pinfall when Rivale pinned Pelequin after a drop toe hold into the turnbuckle at 6:32 **Newest team to arrive in RCW. Rivale is a smallish, street tough brawler with a quick wit and bad mouth, while Simpson is a simpler type with average size. They have a "greaser" image from the S.E. Hinton styled novels, but are villians. Tag Team Action: Shiek Fal-Had and Brent Beck defeated Danny Potenza & Ashley Shade by submission when Beck submitted Shade with the Canadian backbreaker at 8:34. **Beck was unveiled as Fal-Had's latest protege after it has become apparent that former RCW champion The Mummy has left the territory. Special Match: Bonecrusher defeated Kenny Ho by disqualification due to outside interference at 6:52 **Bonecrusher controlled Ho for most of this match, quite a feat considering Ho's impressive record so far in RCW. He had the match won with the bearhug submisson until Eric Lee came from the back and attacked Bonecrusher to create the DQ. Special Appearance: Moose Morowski & Rick Presonka battled to a double countout at 10:15. RCW Tag Team Title Match No Disqualification - No Countout The Royal Kiwis (Kelly Hobin & Keith McIvor) defeated Les Voyageurs (Jacques LaToque & Luc Lagimodiere) by pinfall when McIvor pinned LaToque after a running slam into the turnbuckles, followed by a powerslam at 16:41 **All four men wore the proverbial crimson mask when this match was finished. An excellent blow-off to the feud. [The Royal Kiwis retain the RCW Tag Team Titles] MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Title No-one allowed at ringside; outside interference will cause a suspension Mike Valiant defeated The Destroyer by disqualification when the champion lost all control and began to assault the challenger with a variety of ringside items including a steel chair at 22:42. [The Destroyer retained the RCW Heavyweight Title]
notes; Yes we had a team called The Outsiders decades before Hall & Nash. Ours were based on the book. Johnny Rivale was sort of like a Ponyboy or Johnny, while Curtis was a bigger guy like Two-bit. Mike Valiant frustrated Destroyer so much he "lost it" and attacked him with chairs etc. This is quite the accomplishment for Valiant as Destroyer is a pretty laid back dude.
[glow=red,2,300]October 24, 1981 River City Wrestling #42 Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg, Manitoba[/glow] Opening Bout: Danny Potenza (/w Tony Condello) defeated Brent Beck (/w Shiek Fal-Had) by pinfall after a flying forearm uppercut at 7:31. **Potenza brought out some surprise back-up with local legend Tony Condello and his manager's license working to negate the Shiek's attempts to interfere. Handi-Cap Match: Bonecrusher defeated Kenny Ho & Eric Lee by submission when Bonecrusher submitted Lee with the bearhug at 6:05. **Ho did his best to avoid being in the ring with Bonecrusher. Special Challenge Match: The Outsiders (Johnny Rivale & Curtis Simpson) defeated The Roughnecks (Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs) by disqualification when Rodgers refused to break a chokehold he had on Rivale at 12:38 **Before the match the Outsiders came out and declared themselves the #1 challengers for the Royal Kiwis tag titles, and demanded a match next card. They challenged any team to dispute that; a challenge which was taken up by the Roughnecks who were actually cheered by the crowd. Rivale did such a good job of getting under the skin though of Rodgers he caused the DQ. Women's Action: Jeannie Rahib defeated Tawney England by pinfall with a victory roll at 5:48. **England is a newcomer to RCW, and a raw rookie, who is long on looks but still short on wrestling repetoire. Both women stuck to the rules and ended the outing with a handshake. England was enthusiastically received by the crowd, which may have had something to do with the way she filled out her spandex wrestling outfit. 16-Man "Over The Top" Battle Royal Winner Gets RCW Title Shot Next Card Order of Elimination (1st man eliminated is 16th place); 16: Kenny Ho (eliminated himself to avoid Bonecrusher) 0:18 15. Eric Lee (elim by Bonecrusher) 1:10 14. Ashley Shade (elim. by Lyon) 2:01 13. Curtis Simpson (elim. by Riggs) 3:46 12. Russel Riggs (elim. by Bonecrusher) 3:53 11. Danny Potenza (elim. by Beck & Fal-Had) 5:50 10. Chrisscat (elim. by Roenick) 6:03 9. Chris Lyon (elim. by Rodgers & Bonecrusher) 7:32 8. & 7. Brent Beck & Tony Condello (elim. each other) 7:49 6. Chris Pepper (elim. by Johnny Rivale) 9:18 5. Johnny Rivale (elim. by Stan Rodgers) 11:09 4. Clarke Roenick (elim. by Bonecrusher, Rodgers, & Shiek) 14:20 3 & 2. Bonecrusher & Stan Rodgers (elim. each other) 17:43 1. Shiek Fal-Had (Winner at 17:43) MAIN EVENT CAGE MATCH RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer (champion) v Mike Valiant The Destroyer defeated Mike Valiant by submission when Valiant passed out in the bow and arrow submission at 15:53 **Destroyer left Valiant a bloody mess after this contest. **Destroyer has now defeated two out of three triumverate members (Roenick and Valiant) and has only Chris Lyon left to go. However, next card he will have to defend against the unpredictable Shiek Fal-Had.
notes; Danny Potenza was an Italian guy on my soccer team. His Dad was the coach, so I brought in Tony Condello a real life local indy promoter as his manager. It ignores the fact that we probably would have been his competition! I treated the Condello-Potenza relationship like a father-son bond. Kenny Ho apparently wants nothing to do with the short but muscular Bonecrusher! He avoided him in the handi-cap match and threw himself out of the battle royale to avoid him. Playing up the sneaky Asian stereotype here...then again it was wrestling in the 80's. Tawney England was based on a friend of mine (name changed slightly) who I had a major crush on ;D She had a body to die for, but her face was somewhat featured like an alligator...with braces. Nice girl though with a nasty sister (who will join RCW later). Shiek Fal-Had was shamelessly based on Shiek Adnan El-Kaissie. He managed to win the battle royale by avoiding people and had the good fortune of having the last 2 Stan Rodgers and Bonecrusher eliminate each other to give the Shiek the win. Destroyer versus Triumverate is winding down to the big clash between the Destroyer and Chris Lyon..former friends.

Quarter-Finals Tournament for new RCW Television Title

Qtr Final Match #3: Bonecrusher defeated Rick Presonka by submission with the bearhug at 4:04
Qtr Final Match #4: Kenny Ho defeated Kenny Jay by pinfall after a karate chop to the throat at 9:30
RCW Tag Team Title Defense The Royal Kiwis (Kelly Hobin & Keith McIvor) defeated The Outsiders (Johnny Rivale & Curtis Simpson) by pinfall when Hobin pinned Rivale after a piledriver at 12:02 [Royal Kiwis retain the RCW Tag Team Titles]
MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer (champion) defeated Shiek Fal-Had by pinfall when Shiek's shoulders were counted while in the figure-four leglock at 14:36. **Brent Beck came down to ringside to try and turn the tables in the Shiek’s favor but gained nothing more then a temporary respite for his manager, as he was sent to the back because he is not a manager himself. [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title]
[glow=red,2,300]November 21, 1981 River City Wrestling #44 Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg, Manitoba[/glow] Opening Bout: Klondike Bill defeated Eric Lee by pinfall after the double axhandle smash at 10:03 **Good premiere for fan favorite newcomer, Klondike Bill, a big man with a Northern lumberjack gimmick.

Semi-Finals: RCW Television Title Clarke Roenick defeated Danny Potenza by pinfall after a powerslam at 5:34
Semi-Finals: RCW Television Title Bonecrusher defeated Kenny Ho by pinfall after a powerslam at 3:00 **Bonecrusher seemed to want to answer the convincing victory of Roenick's with a convincing victory of his own. He finally got his hands on Ho, one-on-one, and crushed him. He forego the usual bearhug submission and finished using Roenick's finishing move of a powerslam.
MAIN EVENT Special Tag Team Match RCW Heavyweight Champion The Destroyer and a mystery partner to face Mike Valiant & Chris Lyon
The Destroyer & Dean Jarrett battled Mike Valiant & Chris Lyon to a 30-minute time limit draw.
**The fans were shocked when former villian Jarrett was unveiled at Destroyer’s partner. Already turned on by Clarke Roenick you had to wonder whether Destroyer could trust Jarrett. However, Jarrett’s uncle, Moose Morowski, has been wrestling as a fan favorite so maybe the whole family has turned things around. Jarrett held true to his word and fought tooth and nail alongside the RCW champ throughout the long, grueling match. At the end of it both Jarrett and Lyon were bloodied quite badly. No winner could be declared.

Special Tag Team Matchup Les Voyageurs (Jacques LaToque & Luc Lagimodiere) defeated Moose Morowski & Dean Jarrett by pinfall when LaToque pinned Jarrett after a stuffed piledriver at 14:48
RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer (champion) defeated Chris Lyon by disqualification when Lyon used a chair on Destroyer at 17:30
MAIN EVENT Special Appearances Tag Team Match Junkyard Dog & Rufus R. Jones defeated Greg Valentine & Big John Studd by pinfall when Jones pinned Valentine after a falling headbutt at 15:31 **Studd proudly wore the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Title. He and Valentine controlled most of this match but the fan favorites made a successful comeback in the last couple of minutes. Studd passed Valentine a foreign object and then distracted the referee. However, The Destroyer (Studd’s opponent at the 2nd anniversary show tomorrow) came down to the ring and wrestled the brass knuckles away from Valentine. Jones then bodyslammed, elbowed, and head butted Valentine for the win with JYD preventing the save by Studd.

2nd Anniversary Show
[glow=red,2,300]December 12, 1981 River City Wrestling #46 Winnipeg Arena, Winnipeg MB[/glow] Opening Bout: Tag Team Midget Action: Tiny Thumb & Lone Eagle defeated Little Tokoyo & Billy the Kid by pinfall when Thumb pinned Tokoyo at 8:31 Special Appearance: Kelly Kiniski defeated Shiek Fal-Had by countout at 7:09 **Fal-Had was losing the match, landed awkwardly on his ankle outside the ring and feigned an ankle injury to get counted out. [Chris Markoff was an advertised no-show] NWA World Women's Title Defense: Fabulous Moolah (champion) defeated Jeannie Rahib by pinfall at 7:14 after a German suplex, and a hand full of trunks. **Rahib, the RCW rookie sensation acquitted herself quite well against the wiley veteran Moolah but was cheated out of the opportunity to win the match. Tag Team Action: Les Voyageurs (Jacques LaToque & Luc Lagimodiere) defeated Dean Jarrett & Moose Morowski by pinfall when LaToque pinned Jarrett after a double team piledriver at 11:50 Special Appearance: Kenny Ho defeated Rufus R. Jones by pinfall after an illegal karate chop to the throat at 6:58 Match for the Vacant RCW Television Title Championship Tournament Final Clarke Roenick defeated Bonecrusher by disqualification at 10:28 when Bonecrusher was caught using a metal chair. **With the referee down Roenick used the chair for a shot on Bonecrusher outside the ring. Roenick then went back inside the ring to revive the ref. Bonecrusher came from behind and waffled Roenick with the chair. However, the referee had been able to see the Bonecrusher chair shot and DQ'd him, awarding the title to Roenick. RCW Tag Team Title Match The Royal Kiwis (Kelly Hobin & Keith McIvor) defeated Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant by pinfall when McIvor pinned Lyon after a powerslam at 12:43. **A good match-up which saw teamwork prevail over two of the biggest individual stars in RCW Lyon & Valiant. Title versus Title NWA Canadian Heavyweight Title v RCW Heavyweight Title Big John Studd (NWA) v The Destroyer (RCW) Destroyer's usual tactics of grounding his opponent via hiptosses, crucifixes, or cross bodys, and then working in a submission hold was thrwarted by the massive size of Studd. For his part though the Canadian champ's attack consisted mostly of punches, kicks, and bodyslams. Destroyer blocked two attempts at the heartpunch finish. The match spilled to the floor where at first Studd dominated with his power, but Destroyer countered by grabbing Studd by the waistband and pulling him forward into the ringpost. Destroyer attempted to re-enter the ring but Studd managed to stick up a big hand and hold onto Destroyer's ankle long enough to assure the double countout. [Double Countout at 15:59] MAIN EVENT Dog Collar Chain Match The feud from Mid-Atlantic spills over to River City Junkyard Dog defeated Greg Valentine by touching all four corner turnbuckles in a dog collar chain match at 18:02 **JYD thrilled the fans by picking up the victory in a bloody encounter. The fans gave both men a standing ovation after the match for their excellent work.
notes; That's all for the second year of River City Wrestling. Some progress has been made; some bigger name wrestlers, guest appearances, more cards, running bigger venues, and a road trip to Brandon. Look for even more expansion in 1983 as the AWA starts to become a victim to the WWF's own expansion plans.

1981: March 28th: RCW #29 CAGE MATCH RCW Heavyweight Title Match Chris Lyons (ch) v The Mummy (/w Shiek Fal-Had) -Lyons was a house on fire for most of this match, until Fal-Had passed the Mummy a nail file that he stuck into his bandages, and then used on Lyons whenever the opportunity presented itself. The biggest opportunity came when the Destroyer came down to ringside to complain to the referee, and then when Shiek Fal-Had got into his face he dropped the manager with a right hand. All of this action however distracted the ref and allowed The Mummy to savage Lyons with the nail file as well as bites. Lyons' face was a bloodied mess. The Mummy put on the Arabian Spike nervehold and Lyons' was out in seconds. The Mummy wins via submission at 16:16. [The Mummy won the RCW Heavyweight Championship]

Where did Klondike Bill go? He debuts and then disappears! I was all for cheering on the lumberjack.
The JYD-Valentine matches sound like something I would have been really into.
This is one of the few feds I've been able to read with a mix of real wrestlers and fantasy. So far it's working. I also like how it's getting a little bit more in depth. The details are what keeps me reading.

He never amounted to much though, just a curtain jerker. My favorite TNM feds have always been the ones that mix fantasy and real wrestlers. I always use both but the ratios do change greatly as it progresses. thanks for reading!

Televison Taping for broadcast on CJAE Ch 11 on January 21 & 28 Jeannie Rahib defeated Tawney England by pinfall when England’s shoulders were pinned to the mat while in an Indian deathlock at 9:03
**Following the match Tawney and Jeannie were in the ring together being interviewed. From the back came a newcomer to RCW. A well built girl to rival Tawney in the looks department, she was introduced as Corrie England. She said she was here in RCW to wrestle and would be a lot more aggressive then her sister Tawney, who she accused of being a lapdog for Rahib. Heated words were exchanged between the 3 ladies but nothing more came from it**
Klondike Bill defeated Puppy Dog Pelequin by pinfall after a flying double axhandle smash at 3:41
**Video and interview footage is shown of southern superstars Stanley Lane & Bryan St. John, one of the world’s highest rated tag teams who will be coming to RCW and to the Winnipeg Arena to take on RCW Tag champions the Royal Kiwis**
Shiek Fal-Had defeated Danny Younger by pinfall after a kneedrop from the 2nd turnbuckle at 2:55
**Taped interview with Rufus R Jones who is returning to RCW to meet Shiek Fal-Had at the Winnipeg Arena**
RCW Tag Team Title Match Royal Kiwis and the Outsiders battled to a double countout at 11:07. [Kiwis retained the RCW Tag Team titles]
********************
Buddy Lane defeated Rick Presonka by submission with a step over drop toe hold at 4:01
**Video tape and interview package is shown of female wrestlers Anne Fargo and Pepper LaBianca who are coming to Winnipeg to face Jeannie Rahib & Tawney England at the Arena**
Kenny Ho & Eric Lee defeated Chrisscat & Ashley Shade by submission when Ho submitted Shade with the Asiatic spike at 5:19
**After the match a visibly upset Chrisscat waxed nostalgic about the days when he, as part of the KISS Army was at the top of RCW. Now he is at the bottom. He says he does not mean to offend Ashley Shade but he promises the fans that he is going to get himself a new tag team partner. The new team will premiere at the Winnipeg Arena against the very tandem he lost to tonight, Ho & Lee**
RCW Television Title Match Coal Miners Glove Match (suspended on a pole) Bonecrusher defeated Clarke Roenick by pinfall after hitting him with the coal miner’s glove at 8:50 [Bonecrusher retained the RCW Television Title] **After the match Roenick was joined in the ring by his allies Chris Lyon and Mike Valiant. They said they were done trying to take the title from the “cheater” Bonecrusher. They said they had something else in mind though for the TV champion, something worse, but wouldn’t elaborate**
Main Event Six Man Tag Team Match Chris Lyon/Mike Valiant/Clarke Roenick defeated The Destroyer/Dean Jarrett/Moose Morowski by pinfall when Lyon pinned Jarrett after a dropkick from the top turnbuckle at 10:17
notes; Running TV tapings and trying to get the booking straight was not my favorite thing I ever did. Double duty for Clarke Roenick was just silly. Having non-title matches on TV because I didn;t want to air a title match with the wrong champ after a change had been made. Very convoluted, not a big fan of this approach.

Non-title Match Bonecrusher and Mike Valiant batted to a double disqualification at 12:42

Special Appearance: Rufus R Jones defeated Shiek Fal-Had by pinfall following the feight train shoulderblock at 8:39
MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Title Match **Respect Match** The Destroyer defeated Moose Morowski by pinfall when he rolled him up following a flying crucifix at 15:52 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title]
notes; RCW ran the Winnipeg Arena again, by bringing in some name wrestlers from other territories. Probably lost a couple grand running this card. I thought Bryan St. John was going to be a bigger star in wrestling then he ended up being. Both he and Stan Lane would pop up a few more times in RCW as the years progress. I was a fan of Stan Lane's work. I have no idea what a "respect" match is or what I meant by this note on the booking sheet. My best guess is that both men were fan favorites so it was a clean bout with handshakes before and after. Strange. Clarke Roenick was never meant to be the first TV champion. I think that was some sort of mistake (or maybe we ran it with dice unbooked). Very odd circumstance with him being awarded the belt after a DQ and then losing it to Bonecrusher who was the intended receipient from the start. Very busy January for RCW as they start 1982 with a bang. The top songs in January 1982 were Physical - Olivia Newton John Waiting For A Girl Like You - Foreigner I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) - Hall & Oates The top movies were Sharky's Machine Taps Absence of Malice and, long running On Golden Pond and Raiders of the Lost Ark were still kicking around near the top of the box office

RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer defeated Mike Valiant by countout at 7:06 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title]
******************************************
Clarke Roenick defeated Moose Morowski by pinfall after a flying clothesline at 8:46 **After the match the triumverate of Lyon, Valiant, and Roenick came to the ring for an interview. They declared it a successful night as Lyon defeated Jarett, and Roenick defeated Morowski. The only blemish was a countout loss to the Destroyer which they claimed was because of a bias official.
Buddy Lane defeated Kenny Ho by pinfall after a snap suplex at 6:22
The Outsiders defeated Danny Younger & Danny Potenza by submission when Rivale made Younger submit to the sleeperhold at 4:41.
MAIN EVENT RCW Television Title Match Bonecrusher and Brent Beck (/w Shiek Fal-Had) was declared a no-contest at 5:49 [Bonecrusher retains the RCW Television Title] **Bonecrusher was in no real danger of losing this match when suddenly a newcomer to the RCW stormed the ring and attacked the television champion. He beat the Bonecrusher down and then grabbed a microphone. He announced that he was the Bounty Hunter and that he had come to collect the bounty on Bonecrusher’s head.

MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer (champion) defeated Chris Lyon by pinfall when he rolled him up out of a flying crucifix at 25:34 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title] **These two men put on a great show and really brought the house down. Destroyer had to overcome attempted outside interference by both Mike Valiant and Clarke Roenick, with both men being sent to the back after being caught by the referee. After the match with the fans cheering both men, the Destroyer inexplicably offered his hand to Lyon for a handshake. Lyon seemed to think about and then waved Destroyer off. Lyon feigned like he was leaving the ring, waited for Destroyer to turn his back and then tried to attack the champ from behind. Destroyer though must have been playing possum as he turned around at the right moment and caught Lyon with a clothesline. He then followed up with a flying dropkick, and then clotheslined him right out of the ring. Valiant and Roenick returned and the 2 men charged the ring, but Jarrett and Morowski were right behind them, and the fan favorites cleaned house sending the triumverate away without any spoils.
[glow=red,2,300]February 20, 1982 River City Wrestling #53 Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg, MB[/glow] TV Taping for broadcast on CJAE Ch 11 on Feb 20 & March 4 The Bounty Hunter defeated Danny Potenza by pinfall after a lariat at 2:06 **Bounty Hunter said that he wasn’t done with the Bonecrusher yet. He says he will take away the ‘crusher’s title, hand it over to his employer, cripple the ‘crusher, and then collect his big fat paycheque.
Chrisscat & Paul Superstar defeated Tom & Mike Stone by pinfall when Chrisscat pinned Mike Stone after a flying cross body press at 8:30
Moose Morowski defeated Jacques LaToque by pinfall after a splash in the corner at 5:08
Mike Valiant & Chris Lyon defeated The Destroyer & Dean Jarrett by submission when Lyon submitted Jarrett with the Boston Crab at 14:45 **After the match Moose Morowski (Jarett’s Uncle) came to the ring. He tore into Jarrett verbally for submitting tonight, and the last two outings as well. He says none of his relatives is a quitter. Destroyer tried to calm the scene down but Morowski kept badgering Jarrett who seemed hurt by the words. Suddenly the triumverate hit the ring, and Lyon, Valiant, and Roenick went to work on the other threee men. Morowski knocked Valiant backwards with a big axhandle chop, but instead of pursuing the fight, he climbed out of the ring and left. The remaining two men, Destroyer and Jarrett were no match for the 3 tough Triumverate members who gave them a bad beat down until RCW officials could intercede.
Jeannie Rahib & Tawney England defeated Corrie England & Ultra Venus by pinfall when Tawney pinned Venus with a victory roll at 6:12 **During the match Tawney tagged out rather then face her sister who was acting more over the top then normal. After the match Corrie grabbed a mic and told Tawney and Jeannie that she had taken it easy on them and next time she wasn’t going to hold anything back. And next time she wouldn’t have a crappy partner; and with that she turned around and clotheslined her own partner, the masked and silent Ultra Venus. Corrie gave her a few stomps before leaving the ring.
Clarke Roenick defeated Ashley Shade by pinfall after a shoulderbreaker at 2:34
RCW Tag Team Title Match Royal Kiwis defeated The Outsiders by countout when Johnny Rivale couldn’t get back in the ring after being dropkicked out by both Kiwis at 10:16 [Royal Kiwis retain the RCW Tag Team Titles]

The men continued their wild brawl for several minutes after the match while officials tried to break it up.

TV Taping for broadcast on CJAE Ch 11 on Mar 11 & 18 Chrisscat & Paul Superstar defeated The Outsiders by pinfall when Chrisscat pinned Curtis Simpson after a flying cross body block at 6:17
Corrie England defeated Ultra Venus by countout when Venus missed a dive through the ropes and wrecked herself on the floor at 5:20 **After the match Corrie was interviewed and challenged her sister to a match. But instead of Tawney it was Jeannie Rahib who came down to the ring saying she wasn’t done with Corrie England yet and challenged her to a match instead.
Klondike Bill & Buddy Lane defeated Kenny Ho & Eric Lee by submission when Lane forced Lee to submit to the Indian deathlock at 8:58 **post match, Bill & Buddy were interviewed and made it quite clear that this tag team was not a permanent thing, that they both had singles aspirations that include the RCW Heavyweight title currently held by the Destroyer.
Television Title Match Bunkhouse Brawl Bounty Hunter defeated Bonecrusher by pinfall after hitting him over the head with a cowbell at 10:21 [Bounty Hunter wins the RCW Television Title] **Clarke Roenick came down to the ring and while the ref was distracted by the Bounty Hunter, Roenick nailed Bonecrusher with a steel chair shot that set up the victory.
Jacques LaToque defeated Danny Potenza by pinfall after a slingshot into the turnbuckle and then a roll-up at 4:26
**Moose Morowski called out his nephew Dean Jarrett and told him that maybe he had been too harsh on him. He told him to redeem himself tonight and take the RCW title from his friend the Destroyer. The champ came out and accepted the match, saying that Dean Jarrett had proved himself a trustworthy friend the last couple of months.
RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer defeated Dean Jarrett by pinfall after a gutwrench suplex at 9:46 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title] **After the match the Destroyer and Jarrett shook hands, but Morowski came out and called his nephew a loser. He then called Winnipeg a city of losers and said he was off to Vancouver after his title shot at the St. James Civic Center so he would be taking the worthless RCW title along with him; and offered his nephew one last chance to go with him. Jarrett refused and appeared to be hurt by his uncle’s sharp criticism. Morowski said he would just have to take the inferior RCW Title back to B.C..
Corrie Enlgand defeated Jeannie Rahib after hitting her with a loaded fist (roll of coins) unknown to the referee at 5:37 **After the match Tawney came out to complain and even dug the coins out of the trunks of Corrie. The referee refused to reverse his decision though, and Corrie took the opportunity to ambush her sister from behind.

Chrisscat & Paul Superstar defeated Jake Milliman & Monte Black by pinfall when Superstar pinned Milliman with a splash from the top turnbuckle at 3:54
RCW Television Title Match Bounty Hunter defeated Bonecrusher by pinfall after a lariat at 12:04 [Bounty Hunter retains the RCW Television title] **Bounty Hunter got outside interference help once again by Clarke Roenick
**After the match the Bounty Hunter stayed in the ring and demanded that the man who put out the contract on Bonecrusher come out to pay him. Clarke Roenick came out and admitted to hiring the Bounty Hunter. He tried to grab the title from the hired man but he wouldn’t let go until the money was paid. Roenick tried to talk him down saying that he had only succeeded due to the outside interference provided by himself. Having heard enough the Hunter suggested that he would return the title to Bonecrusher if he didn’t get paid. Hunter grabbed Roenick around the neck but before he could do any real damage Roenick’s partners in the triumverate Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant rushed to his aid hitting Bounty Hunter from behind. They dragged Roenick out with them, leaving the title belt.
Main Event RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer defeated Brent Beck (/w Shiek Fal-Had) by pinfall after a crucifix into a roll-up at 7:55 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title]
notes; The order of the matches is set so the first 4 matches are shown 1 week on TV, and the next 4 matches the week following, which is why the matches increase in importance, then decrease, then increase again. Buddy Lane starting to get a well deserved push. Black Demon, Monte Black, Jake Milliman...a lot of the AWA jobbers are starting to show up on RCW TV. Tawney England v Corrie England, sister versus sister is some nasty catfight action. Just when the Royal Kiwis were starting to look pretty dominating as the tag champs, they lose their titles out of the blue to Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant ~ a Super-Team, at least by RCW standards. The Bounty Hunter angle was set-up from the start and was probably the biggest angle RCW has run to date.

Klondike Bill is getting some air time which is a good time. Too bad he seems to be stuck in the curtain jerker role.
The whole angle with the Bounty Hunter, Bonecrusher, and Roenick is pretty interesting. Not sure where you will go from here. Hunter and Bonecrusher teaming up would seem to be the logical conclusion, but I don't know how Bonecrusher will feel about that.
Morowski's angle with his nephew Dean Jarrett is gold.
Good stuff.

TV Taping for broadcast on CJAE Ch 11 on April 8 & 15 Dean Jarrett defeated Black Crusader by submission with the figure-four leglock at 3:17 RCW TV Title Match Buddy Lane defeated Bounty Hunter by countout at 6:28 [Bounty Hunter retained the RCW TV Title] **Lane had previously won the right to be the #1 contender. Since then Bounty Hunter has won the TV title, and had a falling out with Clarke Roenick and the Triumverate who had originally hired him. While the fans were heavily behind Lane in this match they also cheered BH to a lesser degree. During the match Clarke Roenick came down to the ring, and when the opportunity presented itself he held onto the leg of BH to prevent him from getting back into the ring and breaking the count. Shiek Fal-Had & Brent Beck defeated Danny Younger & Puppy Dog Pelequin by pinfall when Fal-Had pinned Pelequin after an atomic drop into the corner followed by a running clothesline at 4:41. RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer defeated Bulldog Bob Brown by disqualification at 9:35. Midget women for the first time ever in RCW. Interesting, the Bounty Hunter match was non-title. If I remember right the rationale was that it was not a televised card, so the TV title should not be on the line. Destroyer beat Bulldog Bob Brown again, but hasn't got a clean 1-2-3 on him yet.

MAIN EVENT Indian Death Match – Ring Filled With Indian Mud, Baked Hot under the spotlights Can only win via a 10 count on your downed opponent
The Sheik defeated Tiger Jeet Singh in his own match after choking him out with the edge of a steel chair at 15:43
notes; RCW runs the Winnipeg Arena again with a loaded card. Canadian legend Gene Kiniski teamed in a winning effort with his son. Abdullah the Butcher v Toru Tanaka was inspired by a Wrestling Review article I read back in the day about a "Hammer v Tongs" blood fest between the two. Likewise the Sheik v Singh match was inspired by a story in one of the mags about an Indian Death Match. Because the AWA late 70's early 80's really did not have these sort of bloodfests these articles always intrigued me. But in reality a lot of these wrestlers/matches were pretty boring with gore replacing "work rate".

[glow=red,2,300]May 2, 1982 River City Wrestling #62 Chalmers Community Club, Winnipeg MB[/glow]
For broadcast on CJAE Ch 11 on May 6 & 13 Danny Younger defeated Brent Beck by disqualfication when Shiek Fal-Had was caught interfering on behalf of Beck at 4:55 **After the big upset Beck and Fal-Had got into an angry pushing match. It resulted in Beck delivering a devastating shoulderbreaker to the Shiek and leaving him lying in the ring, much to the pleasure of the crowd.
Dean Jarrett defeated Rick Presonka by submission with the sleeperhold at 9:34
RCW Tag Team Title Match Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant defeated Chrisscat & Paul Superstar by pinfall when Lyon pinned Chrisscat after a German suplex (and thanks to Valiant holding down ‘cat’s legs from outside the ring to prevent a kick out) at 11:05 [Chris Lyon & Mike Valiant retain the RCW Tag Team Titles]
RCW Television Title Match Bounty Hunter defeated Buddy Lane by pinfall after a lariat at 8:02 [The Bounty Hunter retains the RCW Television Title]
*******************************
Bonecrusher defeated Eric Lee by submission to the bearhug at 5:40
The Outsiders (Johnny Rivale & Curtis Simpson) defeated Ashley Shade & Kenny Jay by pinfall when Simpson pinned Jay after a flying shoulderblock at 6:41
Special Stipulations: If Tawney wins then Corrie must leave the RCW; if Corrie wins then she becomes Tawney’s official manager Corrie England defeated Tawny England after a superplex off the top turnbuckle at 6:58 **Tawney has no choice but to leave with her sister Corrie
MAIN EVENT RCW Heavyweight Title Match The Destroyer defeated Kenny Ho (/w Shiek Fal-Had) by submission with the bow-and-arrow submission at 13:30 [The Destroyer retains the RCW Heavyweight Title] **It didn’t take Shiek Fal-Had long to rebound from his breakup with Brent Beck. Knowing that Kenny Ho had a title shot tonight he immediately offered Ho a briefcase full of cash to sign with him, which Ho accepted prior to the match. However, it was to no avail as the champion is a juggernaut that is turning away all challengers.
notes; The night after the big card at the Arena, RCW returns to Chalmers CC to tape two weeks of public access TV. Destroyer looks unstoppable again. Bounty Hunter turned away Buddy Lane in a face v face match. Tawney England always wore skin tight jeans and tops, and had the body to show it. Now with Corrie in charge she may be forced to wear even more revealing clothes ~ yes I wrote this stuff when I was a young teenage boy. ;D
