NAWA Glory 02/10/07
The events that took place on last week’s show involving the NAWA World Champion Teddy Hart being beaten down by Sederick Skyhawk Productions has been replayed. Also, Miles Stylish destroyed the Gambler.
Tonight, Harry Harris and Samoa Joe form a reluctant alliance to take on Ron Killings and Abyss. Plus Bryan Danielson and The Gambler take on their respective Blinded by Fury opponents in Nigel McGuinness and Miles Stylish. The Cruiser Cup Tournament continues with two first round matches with the semi-finals taking place this Sunday Night. Plus the events involving the Briscoe Brothers and the Motor City Machine Guns on their night of the town will be replayed.
The NAWA World Champion Teddy Hart walked out. He talked about how last week, he experienced a creepy Deja-Vu feeling when he had been beaten down by Sederick Skyhawk and his cronies. Three years ago, he was in that position but on the other end of the beatdown. We see from 2004 Teddy Hart and his team mates in the Hart Foundation, Next Generation beat down the then NAWA World Champion Ron Waterman. Hart says a lot has changed since then. Ron Waterman is no longer around, he’s a fan favorite, and the NAWA World Champion. And the one who experiences the gang beatdowns as opposed to giving them out.
Hart says this Sunday at Blinded by Fury, he will keep the title and shifts focus to his NAWA World Championship match against Harry Harris on March 23rd 2007 at Reality Check. This brings out Sederick Skyhawk Productions. Candace yells that he’s not giving the number one contender the proper respect and attention. Two weeks ago, Sederick Skyhawk beat two men in the same time and last week, he left the Gambler laying. Shawn Stasiak pipes up saying that two weeks ago he beat Christopher Daniels and caused him to be banished for ninety days, but a look from Tomko shuts him up.
Hart snickers, saying that at the height of his evil, he never had a woman as his mouthpiece, which causes Skyhawk to snatch the microphone. Skyhawk yells that Teddy Hart is underestimating him. He ended the longest NAWA Television Title reign in the company history in Samoa Joe’s. He should have won the Luck in the Draw Match. He beat both Miles Stylish and the Gambler in the same night two weeks ago. Hart nods and says that Skyhawk has some victories under his belt. Some day, he could be the NAWA World Champion but the day is not this Sunday.
Skyhawk argues that Hart took dozens of title shots before he hit the big one. Skyhawk needs only one. The NAWA Owner Larry Sweeney makes his way out and says that both men look about ready to have it out. Therefore, he’s going to give us Blinded by Fury, three days early when Sederick Skyhawk faces Teddy Hart for the championship. Candace accepts, saying that Skyhawk will get the belt three days early. Sweeney says it’s good she agrees, but it’s not the NAWA World Championship that’s on the line, but the NAWA Television Championship. Since Skyhawk won’t defend the title this Sunday, it’s only fair. Both Candace and Skyhawk yell and scream but Sweeney has spoken. So they decide to yell at Shawn Stasiak, placing the blame on him.

Rating: *
Jerry Lynn gets on the microphone and says it’s a disgrace that he can’t get on the card, despite being the second highest champion. Lynn says he doesn’t have a match this Sunday, so he throws out a challenge to any former World Champion, no matter what the company. Lynn wants competition and he has an open contract for Blinded by Fury.

Dan Marion interviews Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe talks about his match with Abyss this Sunday and says that he’ll prove who the most dominant man is in the company. Marion asks about his tag team match tonight. Joe says not to beat around the bush, he has to team up with Harry Harris against Ron Killings and Abyss. Joe points out that twice in the past couple of months, Harry Harris got the better of him, thanks to Larry Sweeney once and thanks to Abyss. Joe says that Harris is his partner tonight, but if Harris steps out of line, he’ll destroy him.
Harry Harris pops up, saying that Joe shouldn’t be making threats about the man that is watching his back. Harris says that he took advantage of a situation just like any other professional wrestler would. He reminds Joe that Larry Sweeney and his goons spent the better part of 2006 trying to end his career. Harris says he’ll look Samoa Joe in the eye and says that he’ll not stab him in the back tonight. But can he say the same about Samoa Joe? Harris suggests Joe is being paranoid to rationalize the fact that Harris beat Joe at StarClash 06. Joe grits his teeth and Harris tells Joe he’ll see him in the ring.
The announcers speculate if Joe and Harry Harris can co-exist along enough to take on Abyss and Ron Killings. We’ll find out later tonight.

Sara Del Rey vs. Lorlei Lee.
Del Rey destroys Lee as Awesome Kong scouts her from the ramp. Del Rey taunts the NAWA Women’s Champion with an extended beatdown and hits the Royal Butterfly to score the pin.
Sara Del Rey pinned Lorelei Lee with the Royal Butterfly in 0:04:08.

Ron Killings stood backstage and stretched on some crates. He has a few words for Harry Harris. Last week Killings says he could feel the golden boy of the NAWA crack under his grip his guillotine choke. He knows that Samoa Joe is talking about some kind of master plan but Killings says the only plan is the one that he’s going to put a hurting on Harry Harris. Harris cheated him several times out of sure wins but Harris will hurt him. Tonight both Abyss and Ron Killings will lay a beating. Killings says that Harris might not make it to this Sunday but he won’t make it to the NAWA World Championship Match. No Disqualification Match this Sunday between Ron killings and Harry Harris but tonight Killings and Abyss against Joe and Harris.

Jigsaw vs. Low-Ki(w/the NAWA Cruiserweight Champion Homicide) in the first round of the Cruiser Cup Tournament
Jigsaw representing the CHIKARA promotion is in action against the NAWA’s own Low Ki. Low Ki destroyed Jigsaw with a series of violent strikes, as Homicide watches with glee. We could have the NAWA World Tag Team Champions meet for the NAWA Cruiserweight Title should Low Ki win the tournament. Jigsaw makes a comeback with a series of high flying moves, but Homicide gets a better look. That allows Low-Ki to dump Jigsaw right on his head and hit the flying double foot stomp right for the pin.
Low Ki pinned Jigsaw after a springboard double foot stomp in 0:09:42.
Rating: ** ¾
Low Ki will face the winner of tournament match later tonight and Kid Kash will face Tyler Black. Then the winner of those two matches will meet in the finals this Sunday. Then the winner of that will challenge Homicide for the NAWA Cruiserweight Title.
BACKSTAGE.
Dan Marion earns his money tonight as he interviews Miles Stylish and Nigel McGuinness. Stylish refuses to talk about the Gambler who he will face one more time at Blinded by Fury, instead he focuses on how he should be the NAWA World Champion. He also smacks Marion down when he mentions Kurt Angle. Nigel is willing to talk about Bryan Danielson however. McGuinness calls Danielson a slippery little wanker who got one by him last week. This Sunday, it will be the rubber match as they are 1-1. At Blinded by Fury, things will be different. McGuinness says that he was bread to become the NAWA World Champion and Stylish interrupts him, saying that he’s going to be the NAWA World Champion. Nigel manages to suggest that they join forces tonight and worry about who gets the title shot. Stylish looks agreeable and says may the better man win should it come down to that. Hype for that huge tag team match later tonight.

Josie vs. the NAWA Women’s Champion Awesome Kong(w/Larry Sweeney)
Sweeney checks his watch and Kong knocks out Josie with two stiff spinning back fists before she scores the pin with a foot on the chest of her knocked out opponent.
Awesome Kong pinned Josie after a spinning back fist in 0:00:21.
Rating: 3/4*
Sara Del Rey walks out and Kong points to Josie, before she gives her a version of the Royal Butterfly. Turnabout is fair play as Del Rey puts to Kong and puts to the championship, before she points to her waist. Kong just laughs at her as these two sadistic women who will face off for the NAWA Women’s Championship in three days time at Blinded by Fury.
We now have footage of the Briscoe Brothers and the Motor City Machine Guns at a bar. The Motor City Machine Guns are out of their element against all of the rednecks in the bar. Jay Briscoe offers them a drink to break the ice. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley take the drinks and they get rather blitzed after a few. Mark comments that’s not one of their fancy little mixed drinks, that’s some real Hillbilly Liquor. The Briscoes taunt the Guns and Sabin and Shelley start making slurs about Rednecks, which spurs a bar fight. Sabin and Shelley get the worst, as the Briscoe Brothers walk off with a bunch of women, leaving the Guns at the mercy of the Rednecks in the bar.
We fade out as Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley watch the footage and say they’re going to go to Sweeny right now and get the Briscoes suspended for Assault and Battery.
[COMMERCIAL]
Sabin and Shelley are in the office yelling at Larry Sweeney, who seems rather disinterested in their complaints given he has to be down into the ring for a few minutes to manage Ron killings and Abyss. Sweeney says he’s not suspending the Briscoes. Instead, he’s going to make a match between the Briscoe Brothers and the Motor City Machine Guns this Sunday. Shelley suggests that the winners get an NAWA World Tag Team Title Shot against the Rottweilers. Sweeney nods at the suggestion, but the NAWA Owner says that they have to win three other matches in addition to the Blinded by Fury Match.
Because, this Sunday, we will have the first match of a BEST OF SEVEN SERIES BETWEEN THE BRISCOE BROTHERS AND THE MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS FOR THE NUMBER ONE CONTENDERSHIP FOR THE NAWA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP!
Sabin promises to sweep the series and get those Rednecks away from the belts. Sweeney chuckled and declared that whatever is left of the winning team should be slim pickings for his men, Low Ki and Homicide, the Rottweilers.
Samoa Joe and Harry Harris vs. Ron Killings and Abyss(w/Larry Sweeney)
Joe and Harris make utterly stiff tags, slapping each other’s palms red in the early portions of this match. Eventually Samoa Joe gets trapped right in the center of the ring and beaten down. Joe refuses to make the tag, despite getting beaten down for about five or six minutes straight. Eventually Joe makes his own comeback, but Harris tags himself in and runs wild on Killings and Abyss. The brawl breaks down in the ring, as Joe joins the fight. The referee loses control of the situation, despite several warnings, so he decides to throw the entire bout out and rule it a no contest.
Ron Killings and Abyss and Samoa Joe and Harry Harris battled to a
double countout in 0:13:59.
Rating: ** ½
Samoa Joe and Abyss brawl on the ramp. Harris is beating on Killings but Killings has that loaded white glove again. Shot to the throat and a knock out punch, before Killings hits an Axe Kick. Killings grabs Harris and locks on the Guillotine Choke. Once again, the surgically repaired neck of Harry Harris has been cracked and snapped in a fury. Killings has an intense look on his face.
Back on the ramp, Abyss and Samoa Joe continue to brawl with each other. Security has been divided, but Joe takes a running start and SPEARS ABYSS RIGHT OFF OF THE STAGE!
An explosion could be heard as both monsters crash right through an electrical circuit board area. The lights go out in the arena as everything goes completely dark.
We see paramedics come out with flashlights and search lights come on, as Abyss rises up from the depths, and clutches his ribs. That monster has gotten to his feet and Joe tries but can’t. Samoa Joe has collapsed right at the feet of the monster known as Abyss. Abyss raises his fist in triumph.
We’re going to try and get more power back on as we’ll be back.
[COMMERCIAL]
We see a replay of what happened moments ago. During the break, Samoa Joe had to be helped to the back for medical attention. Abyss remained on his feet and walked out underneath his own power. Samoa Joe who destroyed everyone in his path for two years might have met a dangerous mass in Larry Sweeney’s monster, the man known as Abyss.
We are in the back, as Samoa Joe has his ribs taped and his burns treated. Dan Marion asks Joe for a comment and Joe snarls that he’ll be at the Pay Per View. Abyss is not a monster, he’s a man and Joe is the Samoan Submission Machine, so he’ll choke Abyss out. The man who has only tasted defeat once in the New Age Wrestling Alliance and defeated everyone under the sun.
El Generico vs. Curry Man in the Cruiser Cup Tournament Quarter Final Round Match.
Generico from PWG and Curry Man from Dragon Gate shake hands in the final quarterfinal match before they wrestle with each other. This bout is high impact, intense, technical wrestling action. One of the highlights is a sensational dive to the floor by Curry Man where he wipes El Generico out on the ramp. Generico moves out of the way of a moonsault and nails a huge Yakuza Kick. Brainbustah is avoided. Curry Man goes for the Spicy Drop but Generico flips onto his feet and hits a huge Brainbustah for the pin.
El Generico pinned Curry Man with the Brainbustah in 0:09:37.
Rating: *** ¼
Generico is back on his feet and both men shake hands. Kid Kash against Tyler Black and Low Ki against El Generico. The winners of those two matches face off against each other later in the same night for a shot at the NAWA Cruiserweight Title.
BACKSTAGE:
Shawn Stasiak sits in the VIP room, as he mutters that he sees something familiar about Curry Man. Candace walks in to inform Stasiak that she got him a match this Sunday, against the friend of Christopher Daniels, one AJ Styles. She reminds Stasiak that he has to win a match by pinfall or submission on Pay Per View in order for his star power to rise. Tomko arrives with Kid Kash and Candace says that he was sponsored to bring the NAWA Cruiserweight Title to Sederick Skyhawk Productions. He has two matches this Sunday but Kash says he’s up for it. He vows to smack around those snotty little young punks and show them what real Cruiserweight action is about.
Sederick Skyhawk arrives at that moment. He has been gone since the opening promo. Candace asks if he’s going to ride out the time limit or get himself disqualified. Skyhawk shakes his head. He says that Teddy Hart disrespected him out here earlier tonight. He’s going to beat Teddy Hart to keep his title tonight and this Sunday, he’s going to beat Teddy Hart once again, to become the NAWA World Champion. Skyhawk says he wants to prove one point to everyone. He can stand on his own and that’s why he wants the other members of Sederick Skyhawk Productions to stay away from ringside.
Candace asks if he’s sure and Skyhawk nods. Skyhawk tells Stasiak that tonight he’s going to lead by example and he should take notes. Stasiak gets up but his knee knocks the serving table over, causing a pitcher to splash onto Candace. She shrieks in anger. Skyhawk walks off saying that he has to focus for his championship match. Candace browbeats Stasiak and goes off to change her soaked outfit. Stasiak turns around and Tomko puts a finger to his lips, before he walks around and peers in through the door crack. Kid Kash looks at the situation and shakes his head, before he walks off, muttering at least the money’s good.

Bryan Danielson and The Gambler vs. Miles Stylish and Nigel McGuinness
Danielson and the Gambler work well together despite their different styles to the appeal of the crowd. The Gambler is caught in no man’s land and beaten down. He nearly makes it to the corner once and tag in but the referee was distracted. This allows Stylish and McGuinness to lay more of a beating on the Gambler. McGuinness goes for a charge in the corner but Gambler ducks and belly to back. Tag made to Bryan Danielson, who runs wild with an impressive comeback. Danielson hits a huge Samoan Drop on Stylish and a missile dropkick but he can’t quite put him away. Dragon Suplex is attempted but McGuinness catches Danielson with a lariat to the side of the head. Stylish has Danielson and Las Vegas Trauma gets the pin, as McGuinness boots the Gambler right in the face.
Nigel McGuinness and Miles Stylish defeated The Gambler and Bryan Danielson
when Stylish pinned Danielson with the Las Vegas Trauma in 0:11:03.
Rating: *** ¾
Stylish gets the win and grabs the microphone. He says another win in his record books as he heads off to fight his opponent this Sunday. Stylish refuses to address the Gambler by name throughout the entire spiel, focusing on the NAWA World Championship but the Gambler interrupts him, saying that last week Stylish gave him a beating. Yet he didn’t finish it. Stylish cuts off the Gambler, saying there’s a huge problem with him over the years. Time and time again, the Gambler keeps coming back to annoy Miles Stylish. They’ve done this song and dance before.
The Gambler took things the one step too far this time around. The Gambler was inept and cost Stylish the Luck of the Draw Match and his rightful shot at the NAWA World Title. Then he cost him another chance at the title when he foolishly dove out of the ring instead of breaking up a pin. Stylish looks at the Gambler and wonders what the hell will it take to get into his head that he needs to stop playing main eventer. He says everyone might talk about how the Gambler improved over the past five years and Stylish will give him just a tiny bit of credit. He has improved.
But…Stylish declares, this is the last time the Gambler will ever stumble in Stylish’s path. The beating he gave him last week was a glorified taster. Stylish looks positively manic as the fans boo him. Stylish says he has many people on his list. Teddy Hart, Harry Harris, and Kurt Angle, but the Gambler jumped right to the top of his priorities. The Gambler got the attention of the single greatest wrestler walking the face of the earth. Stylish will be the NAWA World Champion once again but to do that, he has to not only defeat the Gambler but utterly destroy him. This Sunday, Stylish tells the Gambler to get it through his head. He won’t be walking out of that match with the victory. He won’t be walking out period.
Stylish drops the microphone and the Gambler just stares him down. Stylish walks away, without even acknowledging him any further. The announcers hype the Gambler against Miles Stylish match for Blinded by Fury, years of bad blood between these two men.
We cut to Kurt Angle who is sitting in the gym. He talks about how at Luck of the Draw he came within an inch of winning the NAWA World Championship. Teddy Hart gave him the closest match he could and on another night, Angle would be the victor. Angle hints that he will be at Blinded by Fury this Sunday and says that he still has his sights set on the richest prize in professional wrestling, the NAWA World Championship.
[COMMERCIAL]
A short replay of the events earlier tonight between Teddy Hart and Sederick Skyhawk. The announcers hype up the match. Tonight he has a chance to complete the cycle and become the second man to hold all of the gold after Christopher Daniels.
NAWA World Television Championship Match

The announcers put over how important the NAWA Television Championship is with the World Champion gunning for it tonight. Several nearfalls on the NAWA Television Champion as the time limit runs down. Skyhawk manages to hit a desperation low blow and a jack-knife cradle but only a two count. Hart flips Skyhawk and Sharpshooter but Skyhawk reaches the ropes. Skyhawk snaps the neck across the top rope but is caught with a superplex. Hart floats over for a two and nine tenths count. Hart goes to the outside but comes up short on a Shooting Star Press. Skyhawk shoots in with an Oklahoma Side roll for the pin!

Hart has been laid out in the ring and Skyhawk demands a microphone. He says that he hopes the NAWA World Champion knows who his next challenger is by now. If he doesn’t, he’ll know after this. Skyhawk grabs Hart and a sadistic Curb Stomp lays waste to the champion. Skyhawk talks about how he won’t be an afterthought, he’ll be the only thought, as he’s walking out with the NAWA World Championship.

Sabin promises to sweep the series and get those Rednecks away from the belts. Sweeney chuckled and declared that whatever is left of the winning team should be slim pickings for his men, Low Ki and Homicide, the Rottweilers.

Shawn Stasiak sits in the VIP room, as he mutters that he sees something familiar about Curry Man.

Stylish gets the win and grabs the microphone. He says another win in his record books as he heads off to fight his opponent this Sunday.
