Thought this might be a fun idea for a thread. Where did you think a guy was totally derailed due to poor booking decisions or maybe a guy leaving early?
I think one of the easiest choices for this would be Larry Zbyszko leaving GCW. He could have easily been World Champion and a dominant one at that. He had that amazing feud with Backlund, but could never get the win over him. Would have been a great finish to the feud to have Z beat Backlund for the title.
Another one would be Ricky Steamboat. He was well on his way to a huge push as the top face of the company before he left GCW.
Sgt. Slaughter would have been the top heel in NWF and probably dethroned Hulk Hogan at Starrcade if he hadn't left NWF in the middle of his reign of terror.
The British Bulldogs could have easily dominated GCW's tag team scene for at least a year if they hadn't quit.

Oh, and I had planned on having Magnum TA get a World Title reign before he left. He wasn't in that spot when he quit, but the slow build was there. Very frustrating. Hopefully he gets that reign in the WWA.

Been digging the confines of my brain on this one, because you mentioned most of the ones that immediately came to mind. Then I thought of Magnum and rushed here, only to see you just mentioned him. Ugh.
Zbyszko is the worst one for me. I think he's probably out of a World Title reign now. He'd be the champ right now in GCW had he stuck around.
