I know I've started and restarted like a zillion times, but Carlzilla's new AWE simulator has me really hyped to start something with lasting power. Im starting in 1963 because for all intents and purposes its the best time to start since its the beginning of the rise of the WWE. I hope that this is the last time I start a circuit only to have it die a quick death. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Starting Titles WWWF World Heavyweight Title The main singles title of the World Wide Wrestling Federation. It is one of three World Heavyweight Titles in existence. The AWA has one and of course the NWA has one.
WWWF United States Heavyweight Title Also a brand new singles in addition to the World Heavyweight Title. The WWWF has installed this as a secondary title. Possessing it means you are arguably the #1 Contender to the World Title. Seen as a stepping stone to the Main Event.
United States Tag Team Titles This belt was the first one in the history of the company, dating back to the Capitol Wrestling days, and has a long history in the Northeastern U.S.
Title History 1. Don Curtis (1) & Mark Lewin (1) July 1st, 1958 - September 4th, 1958 (65 Days) 2. Dr. Jerry Graham (1) & Eddie Graham (1) September 4th, 1958 - December 11th, 1958 (98 Days) 3. Don Curtis (2) & Mark Lewin (2) December 11th, 1958 - May 27th, 1959 (167 Days) 4. Dr. Jerry Graham (2) & Eddie Graham (2) May 27th, 1959 - August 1st, 1959 (66 Days) **VACATED when Eddie Graham leaves the WWWF** 5. Dr. Jerry Graham (3) & Johnny Valentine (1) November 14th, 1959 - March 1st, 1960 (108 Days) 6. Dr. Jerry Graham (4) & Eddie Graham (3) March 1st, 1960 - April 2nd, 1960 (32 Days) 7. Lou Bastien (1) & Red Bastien (1) April 2nd, 1960 - April 16th, 1960 (14 Days) 8. Dr. Jerry Graham (5) & Eddie Graham (4) April 16th, 1960 - April 23rd, 1960 (7 Days) 9. Lou Bastien (2) & Red Bastien (2) April 23rd, 1960 - July 21st, 1960 (89 Days) 10. Al Costello (1) & Roy Heffernan (1) July 21st, 1960 - August 8th, 1960 (18 Days) 11. Lou Bastien (3) & Red Bastien (3) August 8th, 1960 - August 24th, 1960 (16 Days) 12. Al Costello (2) & Roy Heffernan (2) August 24th, 1960 - November 19th, 1960 (87 Days) 13. Buddy Rogers (1) & Johnny Valentine (2) November 19th, 1960 - November 28th, 1960 (9 Days) 14. Al Costello (3) & Roy Heffernan (3) November 28th, 1960 - January 11th, 1962 (409 Days) 15. Bob Ellis (1) & Johnny Valentine (3) January 11th, 1962 - July 5th, 1962 (175 Days) 16. Buddy Rogers (2) & Johnny Barend (1) July 5th, 1962 - March 7th, 1963 (245 Days) 17. Brute Bernard (1) & Skull Murphy (1) March 7th, 1963 -
I'll Be Posting the Starting Roster as well as other promotions in existence and their major stars. Im not actually running cards for the other ones, but I have a method of conducting free agency amongst all the promotions and might feel compelled to start running cards for them once I get closer to modern day. But for now Ill simply be doing a broad sense of whats going on in the Wrestling Universe. Certain wrestlers who have ties to a certain promotion (Stu Hart & Stampede, Lou Thesz & the NWA, Verne Gagne & the AWA for example) have been given Lifetime contracts with their promotions. So I'll post a year in review for any NON WWWF promotions. I will post every card I run for the WWWF as well as an awards show at the end of each year, until I start Hall of Fame inductions.

The Following is a list of existing known Promotions for my starting point in 1963. I understand rosters aren't 100% accurate. To Be Honest, I didn't try to hard. I more or less randomized the Non WWWF rosters with obvious exceptions going to known wrestlers who had ties to certain organizations. Wrestlers with Lifetime deals will be marked with *** following their name. They will be off limits to me unless I have a working agreement in place. I also randomly assigned contract lengths to each wrestler ranging between 1 and 5 years unless they are a lifer. Each organization has their "Top Stars" Listed. "Local Talent" fills out their imaginary shows. I might feel compelled to take control and start running cards for some further down the road. I will also not be doing title histories as the W/WWF had a tendancy to ignore other promotions existence. If and when I do run others I will post loosely based histories on who was with them at the given time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

World Wide Wrestling Federation Roster Promoters: Vincent J. McMahon Sr. & Toots Mondt Madison Square Garden Booking Manager: James Dudley Bruno Sammartino - Arguably the most popular wrestler alive today. Hands down in the Northeast. The Italian-American population of NYC love this guy. He has all the tools to build your franchise around him. Buddy Rogers - Former NWA World Champ and multiple time US Tag Champ, he's the arrogant, braggadocious heel that crowds love to hate. He was one of the main cogs in the WWWF Withdrawal from the NWA. Lou Albano - Polar opposite of Bruno Sammartino. The fans despise him and he's not a great wrestler, but he's a master on the microphone and draws a tremendous amount of ill will from the WWWF Fan Base. The Golden Grahams -Dr. Jerry Graham and his brothers (Eddie & Luke) might be the most hated members of the roster both in the lockerroom and out. Jerry & Eddie have a wealth of experience as 4 time US Tag Champs. Pedro Morales - A Young and Up Coming star from Puerto Rico. He has a fiery temper and a short fuse, but he has the support of the crowds everywhere he goes. Antonino Rocca - Arguably the most popular wrestler in the Northeast until Sammartino's emergence. Rocca has been a star in Capitol Wrestling for the better part of a decade. The Canadian Wrecking Crew - An exciting team from North of the border, Chris & John Tolos, are looking to make a name for themselves here in the WWWF. Brute Bernard & Skull Murphy - Current United States Tag Team Champions and a couple of legit bad guys. They like causing pain to others and would probably trade the titles for the right to cripple someone. The Bastien Brothers - Lou & his younger brother Red Bastien are former 3 Time US Tag Team Champions, while Lou is on the downside of his career, Red is just entering his prime and they look to remain relevant in the WWWF. Don Curtis & Mark Lewin - 5 Years ago they were the inaugural US Tag Champs, Curtis the elder vet & Lewin a wild eyed rookie. Now 2 title reigns and 5 years later both men have a wealth of experience tagging with one another and they look to dethrone Skull & Brute in what has the makings of a violent and chaotic rivalry. Gorilla Monsoon - Not much is known about this monster from Manchuria other then he is near unbeatable. Big, Strong, and Athletically Gifted. Hasn't uttered a word, but sends his message with broken bones and crushed dreams. Arnold Skaaland - The "Golden Boy" is entering his prime and is looking to break out in what seems to be a crowded second tier of stars. Skaaland has some work to do to pass Rocca & Sammartino in terms of popularity, but he is determined to get to the top. Johnny Valentine - A top star not only in Capitol Wrestling, but around the country. Valentine has been wrestling for years anywhere you can find a ring. He's been both loved and loathed by crowds, but when he flips a switch he can be one of the most violent individuals in wrestling. "Chief" Jay Strongbow - A Proud Native American Warrior. He preaches both integrity and heart and has both in spades. The young fans are really enthralled with his colorful Native headdress and his Sleeper Hold. "Handsome" Johnny Barend - Aside from his good looks, great wrestling ability, and a lengthy US Tag Reign with Buddy Rogers. Barend is just an ordinary jerk. Miguel Perez - Antonino Rocca's running buddy. Perez is just a tier below Rocca in popularity and as he gains experience should prove to be just as gifted in the ring. Killer Kowalski - He's got a bad attitude and a bad temper. Kowalski will hurt you if you step in the ring with him. Rumor has it he killed a Grizzly Bear with his barehands. Truth or not, he is a scary individual. Baron Mikel Scicluna - Claims to be royalty from the Isle of Malta. Known for using foreign objects to his advantage there is no low road his Highness won't take.

Overall card rating: ** 1/2
News and Notes: The First Round went down without a hitch, the only thing resembling an upset was Arnold Skaaland beating Killer Kowalski. But any of the 8 men chosen to participate are a viable candidate to win it all. Bruno Sammartino and Eddie Graham put on a clinic in their first round match up and it was arguably the match of the night. Bruno would go on to repeat the feat as he battled Arnold Skaaland in the 2nd semifinal match as Buddy Rogers put down Jay Strongbow & Antonino Rocca to reach the finals.
Don Curtis & Mark Lewin have been clamoring to regain what they feel is their titles and tonight they did, upending Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard in what is seen as one of the better tag team matches in recent memory. Curtis, while being on the downside of his career, defines what it is to be a champion and Mark Lewin has really learned and grown from their fantastic 5 year run together.
Pedro Morales & Gorilla Monsoon picked up singles victories and the combination of Dr. Jerry & Luke Graham took home a tag victory. The unlikely pairing of Johnny Barend & Baron Mikel Scicluna was able to take down the much more seasoned duo of The Canadian Wrecking Crew in the Match of the Night and early Match of the Year Candidate.
The finals of the WWWF World Heavyweight Title Tournament had the jampacked Rio De Janerio crowd at a fever pitch as the arrogant and smug Buddy Rogers took on the ultra-popular Bruno Sammartino. In a back and forth battle the fresher of the two men would ultimately win out as Buddy Rogers got the figure four leglock on and forced Bruno Sammartino to pass out rather then tap out. Rogers had battled close to 12 fewer minutes in the opening rounds then Bruno had to get to the finals.
Join us May 25th at Madison Square Garden in our homebase of New York City, New York where the following matches are signed: United States Tag Team Titles Rematch - Don Curtis & Mark Lewin (c) vs Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard Buddy Rogers defends his newly won title against the man he beat in the finals, Bruno Sammartino and a Battle Royal for the WWWF United States Heavyweight Title featuring: Antonino Rocca, Arnold Skaaland, Gorilla Monsoon, The Golden Grahams, and More!

New and Notes:
~ Baron Mikel Scicluna continues to show that he is a very capable tag team wrestler, but rumor has it, he would rather be fighting singles matches. He'll get that chance next month as he goes 1 on 1 with Antonino Rocca!
~ The Rivalry between Don Curtis & Mark Lewin and Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard over the US Tag Titles hit a boiling point today as both teams threw the rulebook out the window. All four men brawled out into the aisle and had no regard for the 10 count and the ref had no choice but to throw this one out. The Champs move on to take on The Golden Grahams in nontitle action next month, but nothing has been resolved and you can be sure this isn't the last we've heard from Skull & The Brute.
~ Buddy Rogers and Bruno Sammartino went to a 25 Minute Time Limit Draw much to the disdain of fans who were clamoring to see Bruno take the belt. Rogers narrowly escapes with his title, but as he tells you he "was in control of this one the whole time and Bruno doesn't deserve another shot". Bruno was left seething that he didn't leave New York title in tow.
~ The Big News of the day, however, was the crowning of a new champion. Antonino Rocca walked into NYC with a game plan and a boat load of desire and fought for over an hour against 13 of the toughest men on the planet. The Final Four were Rocca, Gorilla Monsoon, Jay Strongbow, and the surprise of the battle royal Chris Tolos. Rocca would go on a tear eliminating all 3 men (albeit with some help from Tolos to get Gorilla) and stood in the center of the Wrestling Universe holding his belt high above his head as he became the WWWF United States Heavyweight Champion. Rocca shook Tolos' hand and then departed after high fiving and hugging the front row. The Fans really love this guy, but he has no time to rest on his laurels as he battles Baron Mikel Scicluna in a 2 out of 3 falls match for his newly won title!
~ Aside from Rocca/Scicluna we also have the following on tap: Don Curtis & Mark Lewin vs Eddie & Luke Graham in Non-Title action. Arnold Skaaland looks to slow down the momentum of Gorilla Monsoon. and just announced, Bruno Sammartino will battle Dr. Jerry Graham in a #1 Contenders Match!

WWWF House Show - 6/22/63 Manchester, New Hampshire Saturday, June 22, 1963 11195 / 19000
Johnny Valentine vs. Lou Bastien This match was cruising right along and Valentine looked to be in complete control until about 3 minutes into the fight Valentine exposed a turnbuckle to inflict more damage to the high flying Bastien Brother. Johnny V went to Irish whip Lou into the exposed pad only to have the move reversed. Valentine slammed into the exposed steel and went down in a heap. The referee threw the match out when Johnny Valentine couldn't continue. It was found that Valentine suffered a herniated disc and will miss 4 months of action.
Miguel Perez defeated Killer Kowalski with the Sunset Flip in 4:38. Match rating: ** ¼
Skull Murphy defeated Red Bastien with the Heart Punch in 19:38. Match rating: **
The Golden Grahams (Eddie Graham & Luke Graham) defeated Curtis & Lewin (Mark Lewin & Don Curtis) when Crazy Luke beat Curtis after Dr. Jerry Graham interfered on behalf of Luke Graham in 15:38. Match rating: *** Curtis & Lewin have been on a roll of late but they are focused in on their feud with Skull Murphy & Brute Bernard. And when you're not focused on a team as dangerous as The Golden Grahams, they'll make you pay. Skull & The Brute didn't make an appearance during this one but Dr. Jerry made sure his brothers had the numbers advantage anyway and this one became academic.
Brute Bernard defeated Jay Strongbow with the Backbreaker Rack in 12:38. Match rating: * ½
Gorilla Monsoon defeated Arnold Skaaland in 6:38 with an Airplane Spin. Match rating: ** ¾
Buddy Rogers, Johnny Barend, & Lou Albano defeated The Canadian Wrecking Crew (John Tolos & Chris Tolos) & Pedro Morales when Albano beat C. Tolos with the Piledriver in 10:38. Match rating: ****
2 out of 3 Falls Match: Antonino Rocca beat Baron Mikel Scicluna 2 falls to 1 in 31:36. *Rocca beat Scicluna with the Argentine Backbreaker in 8:12. *Scicluna beat Rocca with the The Fistdrop in 21:36. *Rocca beat Scicluna with the Argentine Backbreaker in 31:36. Match rating: * ¾ (Antonino Rocca retained the WWWF United States Heavyweight Title.)
#1 Contenders Match: Bruno Sammartino defeated Dr. Jerry Graham in 21:32 with the Sammartino Backbreaker. Match rating: ** ¼ Much like earlier tonight, The Grahams looked to press the numbers advantage, but they were thwarted by an angry pair of United States Tag Team Champions. Don Curtis & Mark Lewin came out and brawled around the arena with Eddie & Luke. After the chaos that ensued we actually had us a nice little wrestling match. The bout swung back and forth for the better part of 20 minutes. Graham made a fatal error though when he went for an ill advised dropkick and Bruno dodged it. Bruno scooped him up and moments later we had a submission with the deadly Sammartino Backbreaker. Buddy Rogers looked less then thrilled in the entrance ramp and pointed at his belt and said that no one was taking this from him.
Overall card rating: ** ¼
News and Notes: ~ Johnny Valentine's injury derailed the momentum Valentine was looking to build. Valentine will now miss the better part of 4 months. Doctor's have given him the ok to start light rehab work in 3 weeks. ~ Don Curtis & Mark Lewin were irate with the Grahams here tonight and have challenged all 3 men to get in the ring with them. Bruno Sammartino agreed that the Golden Grahams were a nuisance that had to get dealt with and agreed to postpone his title shot to take on the Dastardly brothers next month! Buddy Rogers will not get away scott-free however. Rogers will battle Arnold Skaaland in what is sure to be a mat classic. Then the following show on August 24th, Sammartino will collide with Rogers for the WWWF World Heavyweight Title!
