NAWA Glory 7/31/2008:
Amanda Sinclair makes her way out. We see footage from the last episode of Glory, where Sinclair waffled Mia Stylish with a Singapore cane, breaking her nose and shattering her orbital socket. Sinclair gets on the microphone, and says the fans might want to hear an explanation. And she’ll give them one.
Mia Stylish and Amanda Sinclair trained in wrestling school together. The only difference was Sinclair belonged there because she was more gifted than Mia Stylish as an athlete. Stylish on the other hand, was there because she was the little sister of Miles Stylish. She was the kid sister trying to emulate her older brother to prove a point.
They trained and one day, Amanda Sinclair suffered an injury. An injury which caused her training to stop, and the injury which allowed Mia Stylish to get in the back door and get a prime time spot when the NAWA decided to build a women’s division, which was a spot which Amanda Sinclair should have had.
Sinclair tried to do things the easy way. She put a bounty on Mia Stylish’s head and several women attempted to collect it. Stylish kept fighting. She beat Flash, she beat Hamada, last week she beat both Kong and Hamada in a Triple Threat Match. Last week, she shattered Stylish’s face just like Stylish shattered her hopes and dreams by injuring her in training.
The NAWA Owner says this is her company, she bought it out, and she has the full support of the Board of Directors. Next week, she’s going to invite Mia Stylish to return to NAWA Glory and hand over the NAWA Women’s Championship and admit she isn’t worthy, she purposely injured Sinclair to prevent her from being the standard bearer of women in sports, and a role model to little girls around the world. The fans boo and Sinclair tells them, she has their money, so they can say what they want, and it doesn’t really matter. She tells the fans to enjoy the show and tonight’s main event featuring Kevin Steen against Miles Stylish.
Christian and Tyler Black, two of the competitors in the Race to the Top Ladder Match, team up to meet two more competitors in the match, in Teddy Hart and Nigel McGuinness. Christian is cut off from Black for most of the match. He manages to catch McGuinness with the spear. Tope suicida delivered by Christian which wipes him out. Hart sets up Black. Black drops down for an attempted suplex. Black shoves Hart into the corner and turnbuckle power bomb sets up a superkick. Black heads up top and hits the Phoenix Splash to pin Hart. Tyler Black and Christian defeated Teddy Hart and Christian when Black pinned Hart with the Phoenix Splash in 13:55
Tyler Black gains some measure of revenge over Teddy Hart by scoring the win. These four men join Sederick Skyhawk and Jimmy Jacobs in the Race to the Top Ladder Match. The winner receives an NAWA World Title shot any time of their choosing during Season 8 of the New Age Wrestling Alliance.
Amanda Sinclair is in the middle of a heated discussion with Gail Kim and Sarah Stock. They chose to align themselves with Mia Stylish, instead of playing ball. Tonight, she has a six woman tag team match scheduled, with Gail Kim, Sarah Stock, and Mia Stylish against Alissa Flash, Sara Del Rey, and Hamada. Well, now it’s handicap match after Sinclair shattered Mia’s face. Unless those two can find a partner. Sinclair says whoever is stupid enough to team up with them, will suffer the same treatment Mia said. She has nothing against Stock and Kim, she loves them as performers. In the end, they have to be get with the system.
Harry Harris cuts a promo, talking about Bryan Danielson. Danielson beat him two months about. Harris said Danielson might have beaten him once, but he can’t beat him two times out of three, like Harris can and will. Danielson wants to disrespect Harris and jump the gun. At WrestleClash VII, Harris will put Danielson down and show to the world why he is the best.
Gail Kim and Sarah Stock are about ready to go two on three with Hamada, Alissa Flash, and Sara Del Rey. The fans are surprised to hear the music of Awesome Kong who comes out and stands in the corner of Kim and Stock. The other two women are surprised, and nervous, wondering if this is some kind of trick. Stock and Kim try and fight the battle without Kong’s help. Kim is trapped in the corner and bludgeoned by the heels. Attempted hot tag made. Kim tags in Kong instead of Stock and Kong enters the ring and obliterates Del Rey and Flash. Hamada is dove onto off of the ring apron with a Thesz Press from Stock. Kong nails Flash with the Awesome Bomb and pins her to score the win. Awesome Kong, Gail Kim, and Sarah Stock defeated Alissa Flash, Sara Del Rey, and Hamada when Kong pinned Flash with the Awesome Bomb in 11:09.
Kong gets on the microphone and tells Sinclair to “just try.” As for Hamada, she’ll see her really soon, and she’ll get her receipt for the chair shot last week. A woman of few words and her actions speak louder.
Kevin Steen talks backstage about how he’ll finally get Austin Starr in the ring for the Television Title without a time limit in one month’s time at WrestleClash VII. He is counting down the days. Tonight, he steps into the ring with Miles Stylish here on Glory. Steen puts over Stylish as one of the top competitors in the world, and a man who Steen came to this company to face, one of them anyway. Steen warns Stylish not to look past him to Samoa Joe because he might end up flat on the mat and looking up at the lights for the count of three. Steen is ready to fight, showing some fury and aggression.
The other two competitors in the Race to the Top Ladder Match face off. Sederick Skyhawk takes on the NAWA Cruiserweight Champion Jimmy Jacobs. Jacobs is the more popular of the two to the fans by a country mile. He is caught off guard. Skyhawk uses his devious tactics and larger size to bully Jacobs to the canvas. Jacobs fights out of the corner and pulls out a standing Sliced Bread #2. Sonjay Dutt tries to intervene. Lacey comes after him with a low blow to stop him. Jacobs heads up top and springboard senton backsplash! Abyss stalks Lacey at ringside. Jacobs hits a bullet dive to Abyss, causing him to careen into the guardrail! Abyss slumps against the guardrail. Jacobs enters the ring and gets kneed and DDTed. Skyhawk heads up the top rope and Falling Star gets the pin. Sederick Skyhawk pinned Jimmy Jacobs with the Falling Star in 10:05(** ¾)
Skyhawk goes into the Race to the Top Ladder Match with the win tonight on Glory. Lacey managed to neutralize Dutt’s normal interference. Abyss proved to be the dominating factor. And speaking of Abyss, he goes one on one with the man he put on the shelf last month in Kurt Angle.
Miles Stylish cuts a promo. He puts over Kevin Steen as not just another big man, but a true athlete. Don’t let his size fool you, he’s capable of some amazing things. Stylish has been watching tape over the past week to prepare his strategy to take down Steen. Steen is good, and Stylish is better. Stylish switches to Samoa Joe. The clock ticks down, more days are off the calendar. Joe’s broken a record with the title reign. On August 31st, 2008, the record is up.
The interviewer asks Miles Stylish if he had any updates about his sister. Stylish says he didn’t want to bring this up. Mia’s fine, she’s a big girl ,she knows what she’s getting herself into. The interviewer further presses him about Sinclair, and what he’s said. Miles says “Mandy has always been a self-centered, entitled, bitch. I learned this years ago before I dropped her like a bad habit. And if you heard the real story about what happened that day she got injured, you’d realize it was karma.” Stylish walks off, saying he has no time for backstage gossip, he has a match later tonight.
The Briscoe Brothers prepare for their match against the Kings of Wrestling against the duo of Jack Evans and Petey Williams. Mark is caught in the bad part of town until the hot tag is made to Jay. Jack Evans is launched over the buckles. Spiked Jay Driller ends Petey’s night. The Briscoe Brothers defeated Jack Evans and Petey Williams in 5:55(** ½)
The Kings of Wrestling walk down the ramp and jaw-jack with the Briscoe Brothers. August 31st, these two teams will face off with the NAWA World Tag Team Championship on the line.
Bryan Danielson is standing by backstage. He heard Harris’s words earlier and they are very interesting. So interesting, Danielson offers Harris a chance to put his money where his mouth is. Let’s make the match at WrestleClash VII Best Two Out of Three Falls, and see who the better man is. Harris is right, any one can win one match in a row, but beating an opponent twice in the same night, is something. Danielson will ever rise to the top or prove Harris right and collapse to the bottom. Next week, Danielson steps into the ring with an individual who he has problems before in the past, one of the competitors in the Race to the Top Ladder Match, in Sederick Skyhawk. Danielson is ready to go.
The main event features the number one contender to the NAWA World Champion Miles Stylish taking on the number one contender for the NAWA Television Kevin Steen tonight on Glory. Mia Stylish comes out to the ring, wearing a nose guard from the injury she suffered from the Singapore Cane shot two weeks ago. Sinclair says Stylish should just hand it over. Stylish says she shouldn’t. For the past six months, Sinclair acted like there was nothing wrong, setting her up for a fall. Stylish says Sinclair always tried to show her up in training, and the last time gave her the injury. Sinclair freaks out and says this wasn’t her fault. She demands Stylish hand over the NAWA Women’s Championship Belt, or Sinclair will bring out Flash, Hamada, and Del Rey, and they will drag the belt out of Stylish’s battered hands.
We cut backstage to Awesome Kong pounding away at Hamada and shoving her back into the wall. Del Rey and Flash are both down after Kong blew them over. Kong and Hamada exchange punches and strikes.

Nana says there’s no problem and it’s a pleasure doing business with her.
Samoa Joe is standing by backstage where he’s asked about a match with Mia Stylish next week and what he thinks about the fact he has to face a woman. Joe grabs the microphone from the backstage interviewer and practically snarls about how it doesn’t matter who he faces. He doesn’t see a woman when he steps into the ring next week. He just sees another athlete, another professional wrestling. Joe said he would defend this belt against anyone, man or woman, and in the end, they both end up the same. They both enter Samoa Joe’s ring and will get ripped apart. Tonight, Mia Stylish is going to learn the valuable lesson. The number one contender for the NAWA World Championship Miles Stylish comes out at the top of the show. He demands Amanda Sinclair come out here, and face him. It’s time for both of them to clear the air. Stylish says if Sinclair doesn’t come out, this show doesn’t go on, no matches are going to take place. Stylish grabs a steel chair and enters the ring, before sitting down to the ring. Stylish says if Sinclair has a problem with him, a vendetta against him, she can deal with it straight to his face.
After the first commercial break, security is in the ring. Miles Stylish refuses to leave. Amanda Sinclair is out and says it’s fine, telling security to leave the ring. Sinclair says she wants to make the best main event for this company tonight, and the top female professional wrestler in this company against the top male professional wrestler is the biggest match. Stylish is the one who doesn’t think his sister has a chance to beat Samoa Joe, and Sinclair calls him a sexist pig.
Stylish tells Sinclair this isn’t about breaking down the gender barrier or anything like it. He knows what it’s all about. It’s about Sinclair getting back at Stylish for something that’s happened a long time ago. Stylish says tonight he’s coming out to the ring, and ending the match before it even begins. Sinclair tells Stylish he won’t be able to interfere because he has a match right now. Stylish is the number one contender for the NAWA World Title, and he’s often said he’s twice as good as any competitor. However, Sinclair wants to put this to the test. Is he really twice as good as any competitor?

Harry Harris has a few words for Bryan Danielson. Two out of three falls, Harris is going to prove Danielson’s one win was a fluke. He’s not going to only prove it’s a fluke, but he’s going to beat Danielson two straight falls. Danielson doesn’t belong here and he should step aside to allow the real stars to prosper. Another is going to join Miles.
The NAWA Cruiserweight Champion Jimmy Jacobs faces off against the NAWA International Champion Nigel McGuinness. Both men play a game of who can top who in the cheating levels. McGuinness almost gets pinned when Jacobs pulls out a crushing senton. A second one is avoided and McGuinness pounds away at Jacob’s shoulder. Jacobs counters a power bomb with a headscissors and hits a spear for a two count! Jacobs heads up top, but McGuinness catches him with a knee and pulls out a Divorce Court, before hooking on a modified Cattle Mutilation. Jacobs squirms and has no choice other than to tap out. Nigel McGuinness defeated Jimmy Jacobs with the Cattle Mutilation in 10:55
These two men join Sederick Skyhawk, Christian, Tyler Black, and Teddy Hart in the Race to the Top Ladder Match.
Next week, Kurt Angle and Miles Stylish team up to take on Samoa Joe and Abyss in a blockbuster match. Will Joe be the NAWA World Champion? We’ll find out when he takes on Mia Stylish in the main event.
Amanda Sinclair comes out to the ring and says she wants a front row seat to one of the biggest, most ground-breaking matches in wrestling history. She doesn’t want any cheap finish, so this will be a no disqualification, no time limit, and no countout match. The announcers speculate on whether this favors Mia Stylish or not. On the one hand, it gives her more leverage to use. But, Samoa Joe has this same leverage and he doesn’t have any restrictions either.
