NAWA Glory 10/28/2010:
Tonight, Steve Corino and Kevin Steen meet in the main event, the former NAWA World Champion Samoa Joe is in action, and also we have Mickie James making her NAWA debut.
The brand new NAWA World Champion Harry Harris comes to the ring, drawing boos from the fans. Harris says Nigel McGuinness had a return match clause, but he signed it away to Harris, and gave him a chance to challenge for the NAWA World Title at any time of his choosing, and Harris chose the End of Days. There was no rule in this company to indicate there couldn’t be two championship matches in one night, and the champion has to agree to a rematch clause, or he’ll be stripped of the title, and given to the number one contender, which is the former champion Harry Harris.
Harris talks about how Miles Stylish made two records that night. The first is the first ever four time NAWA World Champion, and the second is the shortest reigning NAWA World Champion. Harris says it’s sweet vengeance, and he rolls the footage of Miles Stylish beating Harry Harris in a matter of seconds, after Harris had been wrecked by Samoa Joe, in the finals of the 2006 Unholy Alliances Tournament. Harris tells Stylish vengeance is always sweet, and four years, he’s been waiting for the opportunity to beat Stylish in similar fashion. Harris tells both Joe and Stylish can hash it out amongst themselves who gets a title shot, but now, Harris will leave them, as he’s not defending his belt in a dump of a city.
Teddy Hart scored the win over Sonjay Dutt, wrapping him up the Sharpshooter for the tap out at 8:44(***)
Hart gets on the microphone, demanding another match against Ricochet, and he will reign supreme as the NAWA Cruiserweight Champion one more time. Ricochet is still recovering from his injuries sustained by Hart’s post-match beating at the End of Days.
Mickie James scored the win over Madison Rayne, nailing her with a huge roundhouse kick and then the Mickie-DDT to pin her in her NAWA debut in 8:44(** ½)
Out comes Mia Stylish, who says she warned Mickie James not to step into her world, and challenge for her title. Mickie calls Stylish down to the ring, but Stylish declines, saying she’s right where she wants to be, right now. Things are hitting a boiling point between Mickie James and Mia Stylish.
The upcoming NAWA World Tag Team Title match is highlighted, with Paul London scoring the win over Chris Sabin with the 450 Splash. Brian Kendrick got involved, which set up Sabin for the pin in 10:00(***)
Some hype is made for the upcoming Motor City Machine Guns against Brian Kendrick and Paul London tag team match. We don’t have to wait long, that match takes place next week on Glory.
Kevin Steen cuts an intense promo, putting over the fact that he brought Steve Corino back out of this company, and he took him out. Steen puts himself over as a dangerous man, and says he’s after the NAWA World Title. Harris better keep both eyes open, or anyone else for that matter.
The All Night Express picked up a win over the Young Bucks, when Kenny King hit a double arm DDT on Nick Jackson after Matt Jackson had been knocked off of the ring apron. This is enough for the ANX to score the pin Glory in 10:22(*** ½)
King has a few words directed to Beer Money, hyping up they are on the hot streak of the century against Beer Money. Last week, Beer Money’s brutal post match attack cost them a championship match.
Speaking of tag teams, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team, will be coming to NAWA soon.
The Samoan Wrecking Machine known as Samoa Joe was as mad as a hornet after losing his NAWA World Title and Colt Cabana was the intended victim. Joe wrecks Cabana’s night and applies the Rear Naked Choke for the submission victory in 5:44(**)
Joe gets on the microphone, ranting and raving about Harry Harris, saying Harris better bring the NAWA World title Belt to Glory. It will be like WrestleClash VI all over ago, where Joe won his first NAWA World Title, and ended Harris’s last title reign. Joe will be the three time NAWA World Champion.
Main event featured Kevin Steen against Steve Corino. Corino, being a decorated former NAWA International Champion, took the fight to Steen, and got some nearfalls. Steen used his brutality to wreck Corino, but a frog splash is missed and Corino takes control. Cobra clutch is applied, but Steen fights out, and hits a huge pop up power bomb to obliterate Corino for the pin in 12:20(***)
After the match, Steen is not done, he beats on Corino and prepares to give him a chair shot, but out comes D’Angelo Dinero. Steen stops and backs off, to get a dropkick which causes him to drop the chair. Dinero is back, after being on the shelf for the past six weeks, and he’s attacking Steen. Dinero beats on Steen and sends him packing. Dinero yells for Steen to come and face him, he isn’t a big man when facing Dinero straight up. It looks like we know who jumped Dinero in the back all those weeks ago.
