Hi guys. So I first got TNM7 back in i'd say late 99 or 2000. Stuff happened and some years later that old CPU was gone and I'd gotten a new one and I'd say bought TNM7 again sometime in the mid 2000s. Well I'd bought everything, all the plugins etc. and I believe I have it all still in a folder but the truth is I am absolutely terrible with computers. The worst. I'm 33 but you'd think I was 133 I'm so bad. Everytime I'd try to use it it was not able to run on the more modern computers. I came to understand, I THINK, that it needed DosBox to run. So I tried to do that but again, Captain Clueless here I could not figure it out for the life of me. At one point I'd had a laptop a pretty modern one infact and TNM7 ran perfectly but that laptop is long gone. Feeling nostalgic recently I just went to TNM7.com and was overjoyed to see it was still up, its kinda like a security blanket, reminding me of much more innocent and much BETTER days, i feel the same about the site DDTDigest.com lol. I was stunned to see there was an update with DosBox included and I downloaded the trial a few minutes ago and it works fine. So thinking on my toes I go to the old folder with the purchased TNM7 and plugins etc. and I clicked the old TNM7 icon from the old purchased folder and dragged it on top of the DosBox icon and it was weird. It had said something about an illegal command, but somehow it seemed like it was about to run, the TNM7 box opened up and proceeded to say all the plugins were corrupt and if I wanted to delete them. So I knew I was in way over my head.
So the quick fix question is this, I would have no problem buying TNM7 again with all the plugins etc. if anyone could kindly explain this process to me because its been so long. The other main thing I'm worried about with this is I remember sometime in the later 2000s or so where there was an issue with getting keys/license what have you from Oliver himself, not sure if the TNM7 stuff was connected to an email he didnt use anymore or whatever it was, I think it took more than a month to hear from him. I see on these forums people talking about waiting for licenses for 2 weeks. I'm wondering if that is also an issue and if so then while I'd love to buy it again, maybe it would be more expedient if I could figure out how to get my old stuff working again?
I am grateful to anybody who read all this and may be willing to help me out one old TNM7'er to another. If anybody would be so kind, please email me at RemmySkye@gmail.com as its the fastest way to get in touch, but if youre not comfortable with that surely I'll get an email if you respond on this forum and we'll chat that way.
Thanks again guys. We're a dying breed here. lol.
