Continuing a discussion from the Help thread that belongs here...
So, I have now watched this week's show and last week's Dark and am continuing to enjoy the product. Interesting to see Luchasaurus being inserted into an angle with The Inner Circle -- I'd say it was too soon, but there aren't a lot of other options with The Elite seemingly all hobbling and/or drifting apart in some way. I enjoyed the main event greatly, and I have come to the conclusion that Darby Allin's Coffin Drop is the most visually effective finisher going right now. He still needs work, but like everyone else in the fed, he's coming along. Also, re: Kenny Omega: is that how he always is in his promos? Because he's weird, but in a good way. Might be a bit too goofy for a true main eventer, but then that's what everyone used to say about Jericho. Still, I liked it.
Now, for the quibbles. First, speaking of Jericho...I thought the whole skit with Jericho and Scorpio Sky was a bit too ridiculous. I got the point, but I think it went too far in making Jericho look stupid. Scorpio Sky held his own, which was cool, but it was such a letdown after last week's great Jericho-MJF bit. Second, I was surprised to see that they put Hikaru Shida over Dr. Britt Baker. I'm not sure I'd say it was a bad move, as Shida is obviously more polished than Baker and she seemed to be over with the crowd, but at some point they'll need to put one of their female contenders on the mic, and while Shida certainly tried a few weeks back, I kind of wish she hadn't. This is where a manager could really help matters (or at least have Michael Nakamura serve as a real translator rather than doing half-measures). Baker's promo video about her match with Bea Priestley was really good, but if her stint at the announce table is any indication she's better off sticking to scripted stuff for now as well anyway. Nyla Rose and Allie seem to at least be able to cut a promo, so getting them more involved would help, too. Third...Dark Order. Actually, I'm kind of neutral on their new direction, because at least they're doing something with them, but I have more than a bit of trepidation over how this will actually work. More importantly, I think they should have done that vignette before they offered to let Marko Stunt join last week, because it would have, you know, made sense. I know, as Oliver said, that they're still learning how to do TV, but that seems like it would be obvious to anyone whose logic circuits are engaged.
I know, I'm being Negative Nancy, and others have probably already brought this up (note: I do not read about wrestling anywhere anymore, and only watch a couple of YouTube channels on and off, so I don't know), but I still think they're getting a lot more right than they are wrong. Kudos.
