I recently bought the enhancement talent generator, it's a great bit of software but I was wondering if possibly I could get a feature added. The ability to create actual talent and not just enhancement talent. Similar to the Random Wrestler Generator that was made for the game. I know this addon was created aimed for enhancement talent but any chance of getting a check box or something added where you can choose if it's enhancement talent or not and allowing the software to actually creating a full character .. basically not enhancement talent since I know the Random Wrestler Generator crashes so frequently it's a pain..
Not sure if I described that the best way... instead of having enhancement talent have it create talent with the full profile filled out as in setup moves, finishers etc
Hope you know what I mean.
Thanks Ken

This is a very good idea BUT I would want to do this right, not right-ish.
We need to answer the following questions: - How do we handle finisher names? The plugin could pick a move, put its name in as the finisher and set up the counters such that it would work. You would have to adjust the finisher's name, though, if you want to call it something unique. - It probably wouldn't make much sense to automatically assign some characters managers. So this part would remain in the user's hands. - I'm not sure how to deal with dives. We're 30 years past the hard-and-fast rule "only high-flyers and light wrestlers do dives". Do we assign nobody dives? Everybody dives? Only those with styles X, Y, and Z?
I'm a big fan of the "6 Ps" ;-)

Well thanks for understanding my some what garbled mess lol
Finisher names - I would say just use the generic name that's in the game and let the user change it if they feel the need since some may just use it as merely a template but see a certain name and immediately get ideas but they already have 99% of the template infront of them
I agree it would only be used for wrestlers and if the user wants to make the person a manager then it's up to the user.
I would assign everyone dives... because lets face it we can't just say a certain style because even someone as big as Undertaker dives.. If possible I would say do it weight related anyone over 400lbs doesn't dive cause I don't think anyone that big does dive but I could be wrong as I'm not familiar with every wrestler/promotion.

Regarding dives -- maybe assign a random number of dives between 0-?? (I forget what the maximum is) weighted toward zero, if that's possible.

Five dives max. What do you mean by "weighted towards zero"?

For instance, let's say you set the random number generator between 1 and 10. The distribution of number of dives could be something like 0-0-0-0-1-1-2-3-4-5.

Ah, gotcha. That's what I thought you meant but I had to ask. A non-uniform distribution.

The dives would presumably also be dependent on the wrestler's size. A guy under 200 lbs is probably doing a bunch of dives. A guy over 300 lbs probably isn't doing any.
As far as finishers, a little playing around with the Enhancement Talent Generator I find finishers can often be invented by the user without any help from the program. For example, I got a guy named Rocky [last name is irrelevant]. Give him the Rock Bottom or the Rockslide or the Rock Drop (for the latter two just pick a move that sounds right). Another guy got the last name Key so I gave him the Key Lock (as in the MMA move).

Yesterday the Enhancement Talent Generator gave me a guy named Seymour Battle from Embarrass, WI. "Seymour Battle" is a clever name in the vein of Justin Credible, but I gotta say a more obvious name and gimmick came to me because of his hometown. I don't have a sophomoric sense of humor, but I do love puns. Thus I now have a wrestler named Seymour Butts from EmbarrASS, WI whose finisher is the Butt Drop (Banzai Drop) and his gimmick is he's a fat guy who has trouble keeping his pants up.

Thanks for a great laugh :-D
And yes, I agree re: the number of dives and the associated weights. What I think I'll do is leave it up to the user to configure how they want it.

See I said anyone over 400lbs wouldn't dive going back to my point of Undertake is in the 300lbs section and he does do dives... Assuming we're talking about the samething for what a dive is considered.
I'm sure very few do dives at that weight though..
Also thanks for the laugh with Seymour Battle, that was a good one.

You and Josh are on opposite ends of the same argument here... which is why I, as the developer, will need to support both ways of looking at it because I guarantee you this one will split right down the middle :-)

It honestly doesn't matter to me if guys bigger than 300lbs do dives. Since it's a rare thing.. I honestly don't think I could even name 5 other wrestlers over 300lbs that did them... Hell I don't think I could name 3 others that did them.

Just add an editable conditional that each user can set up.
Assign dives if X, Y, Z style || weight < 240lbs && style != Q
Fairly easy, though a bit tedious, and it allows for maximum user control.

Yup, that's a good and flexible way to do it.
I had been thinking of using a two-gate process: - specifying the qualifying styles and - have percentage points for 0-5 dives
Example: You could check high-flyer and technician as the style gate.
Then you'd see a matrix of eight rows and six columns, with the rows being the weight classes and the columns being the number of dives from 0 to 5.
Each item would contain a percentage. As an example you could assign a 6 percent chance for somebody in weight class 5 to be assigned two dives.
I'd preload this matrix with normally-distributed percentages that would shift more and more towards 0 the higher the weight class.
There is a chance this would confuse some folks, though. Perhaps it's too much detail.

It's on the "to do" list.
As you may have seen, I've shipped a new Build of both TNM 7 SE and TNM TE since then, both with substantial changes/new features.
