Sam Sully pinned Daron Cline with the Mississippi Driver Driver in 0:08:15. Rating: 3/4*
We have a double debut match to open the show. Sam "Steamboat" Sully wears a sailor's cap and occasional blows a whistle that sounds like a steam whistle.

Vignette featuring Trump International. "Million Dollar" Stan Trump is in a board room. Seated at the table are Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe plus Bad Wolf Bridges and Iseli Kaelo. Trump rants about their failures at Great American Bash, especially the lawyers for failing to get him out of the War Games match. He would fire his current legal team, but there aren't any other lawyers in New York City crooked enough to work for him. Trump says Kaelo better do as he's told him, or he'll be shipped back his lonely little island just like Samoan Storm. Bridges better deliver as well, or it'll be back to the reservation for him. Now to figure out how to bring down The Jolly Green Giant...

Another double-debut match to kick off the show. Gamble is a risk-taking high-flyer. Oliver Nash is a big, young wrestler with a big mustache and big mullet whose wardrobe is obviously inspired by the 1970s tag team The Yukon Lumberjacks.
Backstage interview with "Dynamite" David Smith. He commends Cpl. Punishment's toughness. For his next challenger, Smith thinks Stroker Ace got a raw deal when Bulk Logan gave him a title shot only while Ace was injured. Now that Stroker is healthy, David offers him a TV Title shot tonight.

Bruiser Barton pinned Antwan Soto with the Calf Branding in 0:02:42. Rating: **

Ohio State Fair - Aug 13, 1985 (special house show) Columbus Fairgrounds, Columbus, OH
Jammin' Jimmy Blast came out on crutches to open the show. Blast gave a cheap heat face promo (Bengals, Browns, Buckeyes, etc) to hype up the crowd and reminisces about coming to the Ohio State Fair as a kid. He was looking forward to defending the US Title today in his home state, but his ankle injury prevents him from doing so. His goal is to get healthy for Fall Brawl. Since he can't wrestle, he will be serving as the ring announcer for the show.

Logan grabbed one of Jimmy Blast's crutches and smashed it over Samson's back, drawing the DQ. After Blast announced the result, he told Logan he should go back to California because Ohio doesn't want fake cheaters like him. Logan confronted Blast and teased taking the other crutch away. Samson made the save, got Logan back in the ring, and put him in the Body Vice. Logan screamed that he gave up, providing a symbolic victory for Samson to send the fans home happy.

WCWF News
Jimmy Blast's ankle injury is legitimate. It's a sprain, not a break, and it may heal enough that his US Title defense at Fall Brawl can take place as scheduled. If the injury proves more severe he will have to forfeit the title. Blast's injury so soon after Randy "The Ram" Robinson's back injury is especially unfortunate.
The Wrestling Classic, scheduled for November, was originally planned to feature a singles tournament like the non-televised King of the Ring. However, after further consideration it will be a tag team tournament. The King of the Ring event was considered successful and will take place again next year. It might even be elevated to PPV.
Greg Gamble, Sam "Steamboat" Sully, "Lumberjack" Oliver Nash, and Daron Cline are recently signed talent. They have been slotted into the lower card for now.
Marc Gentry and Irving Dixon are new Enhancement Talent.

WCWF News & Rumors
Lots of turmoil in WCWF! Part of it is a spate of injuries this summer to Randy "The Ram" Robinson, Jammin' Jimmy Blast, Sam "Steamboat" Sully, and now Bad Wolf Bridges, plus enhancement talent Rocky Hendrix and Ollie Johnson.
The other issue is contracts. Many wrestlers contractors have come up for renewal recently or will in the near future. Rumor has it there are some surprising decisions among those not re-signing. The WCWF roster may see a lot of changes before the end of the year.
Fall Brawl - Scheduled Card
Eddie Bearden & Porkchop Jones vs. The Ayatollah & Baron von Kaiser The Jolly Green Giant vs. "Million Dollar" Stan Trump Bruiser Barton vs. The Mighty Tor w/ Hanoi Xan WCWF World Tag Titles: The Supernauts (c) vs. The Orient Express w/ Hanoi Xan WCWF US Title: Jammin' Jimmy Blast* (c) vs. Rick Blood WCWF World Heavyweight Title: "Strongman" Rick Samson vs. Bulk Logan (c)
* If Blast is unable to wrestle due to his ankle injury he will relinquish the US Title
Two other matches will be held at Fall Brawl, but are not being announced in advance due to the uncertainty caused by injuries and contract negotiations.

Fall Brawl - September 1, 1985 Charlotte Coliseum, Charlotte, NC broadcast live on PPV
The announcers welcome us to the show and run down the card. Jimmy Blast is in the arena and says he will defend his US Title, despite his bad ankle.
HIGH ENERGY vs THE FABULOUS ONES
High Energy (Mark Gibson and Rob Dynamo) defeated The Fabulous Ones (Rick Vine and Chris Reese) when Gibson pinned Vine with the Headhunter in 0:10:11. Rating: ** 1/2
BRUISER BARTON vs THE MIGHTY TOR w/ HANOI XAN Tor has looked practically invincible since his debut after Wrestlemania, but that has involved a lot of quick smash matches where he no-sells everything then delivers a few devasting blows. Barton delivered some stronger hits that rocked Tor, then a huge lariat that finally brought him down. It was all downhill from there for Tor. The mighty have fallen.
Bruiser Barton pinned The Mighty Tor after a belly-to-belly suplex in 0:04:19. Rating: 1/4*
EDDIE BEARDEN & PORKCHOP JONES vs BARON VON KAISER & THE AYATOLLAH
Jones is the face-in-peril for a bit. When Bearden gets the hot tag, he runs wild and sends Kaiser out of the ring with a Ghetto Blaster. The Ayatollah takes a Ghetto Blaster too then Bearden hits him with the Bad Attitude (Fairy Tale Ending)...for the win!
Eddie Bearden and Porkchop Jones defeated Baron Von Kaiser and The Ayatollah when Bearden pinned Ayatollah with the Bad Attitude in 0:07:05. Rating: **
WCWF TV TITLE: B. A. BRAKKAS vs SOL SALAMANCA (c)
This match was made on short notice. John Murdoch is at ringside, but as a passive observer. Salamanca used his speed and agility, but eventually succumbed to Brakkas' raw power.
B.A. Brakkas pinned Sol Salamanca with the Bad Ass Slam in 0:08:18. Rating: * 3/4 (B.A. Brakkas won the WCWF TV Title.)
After the match, Brakkas and Salamanca shook hands then Sol left The A-Team to have the spotlight. In a post-match interview, Brakkas thanked Murdoch for doing such a good job teaching him to become a pro wrestler. "I've done some tough stuff in my life and learning this business has been one of the toughest. I pity the fool who doesn't respect it." Murdoch said he had nothing more to teach Brakkas and it's time for him to move on to other things. Big handshake and a manly hug. The crowd chanted "U-S-A!"
THE JOLLY GREEN GIANT vs "MILLION DOLLAR" STAN TRUMP
Trump came to the ring accompanied by his legal team and demanded a mic. "I said I'd be at Fall Brawl. I never said anything about wrestling! If you want a piece of me you can see my lawyers. And I'm doubling the bounty on The Jolly Green Giant to $20,000!"
THE JOLLY GREEN GIANT vs DEWEY, CHEATHAM, AND HOWE
This was a 3-on-1, but with tags required. The lawyers took turns trying to bring the giant down, to no avail. Finally they just all attacked him together, drawing the DQ.
Handicap-Match: The Jolly Green Giant defeated Dewey Cheatham and Howe (Benjamin Cheatham, George Dewey, and William Howe) when Jolly defeated Howe by disqualification in 0:09:09. Rating: -* 1/4
The combined efforts of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe literally brought The Jolly Green Giant to his knees, but no further. He summoned enough strength to fling the lawyers away. He knocked two of them out of the ring, then threw the third onto them. The crowd loved it.
WCWF UNITED STATES TITLE: JAMMIN' JIMMY BLAST (c) vs RICK BLOOD
"Crazy Train" played, but no Jimmy Blast. We got to the back to find out what has happened. Blast is limping around, being pummeled by an assailant who can't be seen clear. The attacker hits a facebuster on the floor, then topples some boxes onto Blast's bad leg. We finally get a good look at the attacker. MEAN MASSIMO IS BACK! Officials finally get Masimo out of there while medical personnel tend to Blast.
Back in the ring, Blood seems legitimately confused. The ring announcer and referee consult with each other. Commissioner Gonzalez comes to the ring. He says the match is off and the US Title is vacated. Blood wants the title awarded to him by forfeit, but the Commissioner refuses. Blood lays out an open challenge for anyone in the back to face him. The challenge is answered by Wolfie Brown in street clothes.
WOLFIE BROWN vs RICK BLOOD
Blood clearly used the strategy he had been planning to use against Jimmy Blast: attack the legs. Brown is healthy, but he's also hefty. He had no defense for Blood's technical prowess and got his legs worked over. Blood finished the match with one of Blast's signature moves, just to really rub salt in the wound.
Rick Blood defeated Wolfie Brown when Brown passed out in a figure-four leglock in 0:04:08. Rating: *** (Jimmy Blast no-showed.)
WCWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES: THE SUPERNAUTS (c) vs THE ORIENT EXPRESS w/ HANOI XAN
The Orient Express (Louis Dupre and Mehmet Suleiman) defeated The Supernauts (Dreadnaut and Huguenaut) when Dupre pinned Huguenaut after a side slam in 0:07:24. Rating: -3/4* (The Orient Express won the WCWF Tag Team Titles.)
WCWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: "STRONGMAN" RICK SAMSON vs BULK LOGAN
Logan wrestled his usual lazy heel offense, taking cheapshots whenever he could and running away whenever Samson overpowered him. The referee went down when Logan "accidentally" clotheslines Samson into him. Logan took Samson to Dick Kick City with a huge punt then delivered two Blockbusters. The referee revived in time to count the pin.
Bulk Logan pinned Rick Samson with the Blockbuster in 0:12:05. Rating: ** (Bulk Logan retained the WCWF World Heavyweight Title.)
Card rating: * 1/4

From The Dirt Sheets: Fall Brawl Fallout
Huguenaut quit WCWF for personal reasons. Dreadnaut's future is uncertain. (If The Supernauts are The Road Warriors, I guess Huguenaut is French Hawk.)
The Ayatollah was unhappy with being a tag wrestler after so many years in the main event and declined to re-sign.
Frank Nowinski decided to retire.
Chris Vine had been brought on a short-term contract from the Maple Leaf Wrestling acquisition, but management was happy with The Fabulous Ones and disappointed than Vine declined a long-term deal.
The Mighty Tor was never viewed as a long-term prospect, both due his gimmick and real age, but after months of being built up squashing jobbers he abruptly decided he'd had enough. He went out the way it was always intended, a monster who was finally slain, but the gimmick had been intended for a longer run.
John Murdoch declined to re-sign so it was a good time to end The A-Team.
Bobby Jackson and Lance Catamaran were stale with no pushes in their future so neither was offered a chance to renew their contracts.
Due to the tag teams lost during the recent roster turmoil and the US Title being vacated, booking plans have changed again for the upcoming Wrestling Classic PPV. The tournament is back to being singles, now for the vacant title instead of a cash prize.
WCWF has signed Scottish wrestler "Hammerhead" Harold Hume and black Canadian wrestler Moose Hartley. Hartley won a gold medal in wrestling at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Once things settled down after the big games, Hartley signed a deal with WCWF and started training to become a pro wrestler. He has had some matches in Stampede Wrestling where he has shown a lot of promise. WCWF would prefer he get more experience, but due to the roster turmoil management feels they can't wait.

Cpl. Punishment made Dudley Snyder submit to the Punishment Due in 0:01:38. Rating: **
The Awesome McKnight Brothers (Bruce McKnight and Ralph McKnight) defeated Irving Dixon and Marc Gentry when Bruce pinned Dixon with the Air Atlantic in 0:03:32. Rating: 1/4*
Solid debut by the cocky siblings, Bullet Bruce and Ravishing Ralph, with the former connecting on a diving headbutt for the win.
Greg Gamble pinned Mark Dunlap with the Big Gamble in 0:05:02. Rating: DUD
Frank Gresham interviews Bulk Logan, who has the WCWF World Heavyweight Title over his shoulder and seems annoyed to be there. Gresham asks about Fall Brawl and Logan brags about his victory over Rick Samson. Gresham calls Logan out for using illegal tactics to win. "What about it, brother? Yeah, I took Rick Samson to Dick Kick City! So what? I've cheated my way to the top, and I'm not ashamed of it. At the end of the day, it's all about winning, brother! So to all the little Bulkamaniacs out there, I just want to say this: if you want to be a winner, you need to learn to cheat. Because that's what it takes to be the best. And if you don't like it, brother, you can stick it!" Hogan struts off the interview set playing air guitar with the title belt.
Stroker Ace pinned Teddy Walls with the Ace Crusher in 0:02:06. Rating: 1/4*
Wally Richter pinned Vaughn Parsons with the Earthshaker in 0:01:20. Rating: -** 1/4
Rick Blood pinned Alvin Ayers after a double stomp in 0:02:23. Rating: DUD
Frank Gresham interviews Rick Blood after the match who says he made good on his promise that Jimmy Blast would not walk out of Fall Brawl as United States Champion. "Does that mean you were behind Mean Massimo's attack?" Blood denies it. "When I want to make someone bleed I do it myself." However, he does declare the US Title should be awarded to him via forfeit.
Eddie Bearden and Porkchop Jones defeated Antwan Soto and Daron Cline when Bearden pinned Soto with the Ghetto Blaster in 0:03:05. Rating: DUD
Interviewed after the match, Porkchop says they've driven The Ayatollah out of WCWF and want to know when they will get a title shot for that accomplishment. "You want a shot at the World Tag Titles?" Bearden says any title will do. Maybe The Wrestling Classic tournament for the US Title. "Hey Bulkster: maybe we should come for you...brother!"
B.A. Brakkas pinned Oliver Nash after a series of punches in 0:06:36. Rating: ** 1/2 (B.A. Brakkas retained the WCWF TV Title.)
WCWF Saturday Night #62 - Sep 14, 1985
Perry Strong made Antwan Soto submit to the Strong Hold in 0:04:19. Rating: ** 1/4
Strong makes his debut. He's a short and stocky, but tough.
Frank Gresham interviews Commisioner Pedro Gonzalez. The commissioner confirms that Jimmy Blast vacated the US Title at Fall Brawl due to injury. Since a tournament was already planned for The Wrestling Classic on November 7, the WCWF Board of Directors decided to make it an 8-man tournament for the vacant title. All former United States champions still under contract are invited to enter the tournament, including Blast, assuming he's medically cleared.
Mean Massimo interrupts to say that the title should be handed over to him because he took out the champion. Gonzalez retorts that, due to Massimo's actions at Fall Brawl, he is specifically excluded from the tournament, despite being a former champion! Massimo is irate and grabs Gonazlez by the tie. The commssioner warns Massimo to keep his hands off authority figures if he wants to remain employed. Massimo screams "You'll pay for this!" and storms off the interview set.
Gonzalez straightens his tie and takes a moment to compose himself while Gresham decries Mean Massimo as a "loose cannon." The commissioner says that since Mean Massimo denied Rick Blood from having a title shot at Fall Brawl, Blood gets Massimo's spot in the tournament. Assuming all other former champions enter the tournament, that leaves one open slot which will be awared in a manner to be announced later. As for Massimo: Jimmy Blast can face his assailant at Starcade in whatever kind of match Jimmy wants!
J.C. Magnum pinned Marc Gentry with the Magnum SK in 0:03:41. Rating: 1/2*
Wolfie Brown pinned Mark Dunlap with the Roundabout in 0:02:24. Rating: 1/4*
Chris Reese pinned Irving Dixon with the Bad Ending in 0:03:55. Rating: * 1/4
Pre-taped promo with Hanoi Xan and The Orient Express. They gloat about winning the World Tag Titles from The Supernauts at Fall Brawl.
The Detroit Connection (Joe Dean and Steve Hecker) defeated Dave Austin and Teddy Walls when Dean pinned Austin after the Motor City Moonsault in 0:01:08. Rating: **
Isileli Kaelo pinned Vaughn Parsons with the Kick of Fear in 0:01:04. Rating: DUD
The Tongan Terror came out alone, decimated enhancement talent, and left without a word or even letting the referee raise his hand in victory. The announcers wonder about Stan Trump's absence.
Big Love (Big Hoss McGraw and Rudolph Love) defeated Dudley Snyder and Alvin Ayers when Big Hoss made Snyder submit to a sleeperhold in 0:04:41. Rating: -3/4*

WCWF Saturday Night #63 - Sep 21, 1985
Moose Hartley pinned Daron Cline with the Skullcrusher in 0:04:58. Rating: **
Solid debut for the black Canadian Olympic wrestler who finished the match with a variant Northern Lights bomb.
Baron Von Kaiser pinned Alvin Ayers with the Kaiser Roll in 0:03:02. Rating: * 3/4
Sol Salamanca pinned Dave Austin with the Toluca Sunrise in 0:03:18. Rating: * 1/2
Stan Trump pinned Vaughn Parsons with the Million Dollar Knee in 0:02:03. Rating: -*
Million Dollar Stan gets his hand raised in victory, only to have his music cut off by "Big In Japan" by Alphaville. The Jolly Green Giant headed toward the ring and Trump immediately fled. Jolly got in the ring and got a microphone. He declared that Stan Trump can run, but he can't hide. The more Trump runs, the more everyone sees him for the coward that he is.
The announcers note the absence of Isileli Kaelo, who usually serves as Trump's bodyguard and who wrestled on last week's show without Trump in his corner. Are there problems in Trump International?
Rick Samson made Teddy Walls submit to the Body Vice in 0:01:36. Rating: **
In a post-match interview, Samson acknowledges disappointment about what happened at Fall Brawl, but knows that the referee's decision is final. He's going to focus on his shot at the US Title as part of the tournament at The Wrestling Classic.
High Energy (Mark Gibson and Rob Dynamo) defeated Antwan Soto and Mark Dunlap when Gibson pinned Soto after a power bomb in 0:05:29. Rating: -1/4*
Bonesaw McGraw pinned Dudley Snyder with the Bonesaw Elbow in 0:02:33. Rating: *
Bonesaw cuts a post-match promo: "I hear there's a United States Title tournament coming up and some of the other guys around here get a free ride right into it. Bonesaw hasn't gotten a lot of free rides in his life; he's had to do things the hard way. Oh yeah. But how many of those guys are ready to be the next champion? You know who is ready? Bonesaw is ready!"
The Southern Maulers (Texas Mauler and Missouri Mauler) and B.A. Brakkas defeated Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe (Benjamin Cheatham, George Dewey, and William Howe) when Brakkas defeated Dewey by countout in 0:11:34. Rating: 1/4*
The announcers noted that "Million Dollar" Stan Trump had fled the building after The Jolly Green Giant showed up earlier. Thus Trump's legal team was here on their own. They didn't fare very well in this, a fair matchup. They did finally get control of the match with heel shenanigans. Brakkas finally got the hot tag and cleared house on the three lawyers, who then walked out of the match.

Perry Strong defeated Teddy Walls when Teddy Walls passed out in the Strong Hold in 0:03:16. Rating: **
Frank Gresham interviewed WCWF World Heavyweight Champion Bulk Logan. Who will he defend his title against next? Logan tried to blow off the question so Gresham suggested another match with Rick Samson, whom Logan dismissed as a "loser." Jolly Green Giant? Logan mocks him for telling kids to eat their vegetables then adds that he's "stink and wart-infested." Eddie Bearden? Logan: People like him don't win championships, brother! Gresham: What do you mean "people like him"? Logan: You know what I mean. Eddie Bearden and Porkchop Jones show up on the interview set. Bearden: Say that again. To my face. 'Brother.' Logan begs off and heated words start getting exchanged. Then The Orient Express show up and attack Bearden and Porkchop. Logan joins in until B. A. Jolly called out "Million Dollar" Stan Trump.
Number-One-Contenders-Match: Brett Hale defeated Cpl. Punishment via disqualification in 0:07:10. Rating: 3/4* [Mean Massimo interfered against Cpl. Punishment.]
Winner gets a TV Title shot next week. It was a fairly even match until Mean Massimo made a surprise appearance, laying out Hale with a chairshot for an immediate DQ. Punishment was confused and approached Massimo wanting to know why he got involved in the match. After an exchange of heated words, Punishment got laid out with a chairshot too. Massimo followed that up by giving each man the Pasta Buster then stacking them up in the corner for a double Mean Machine. The damage done, Massimo departed before referees and other officials could intervene. Commissioner Gonazalez was among the officials and got in Massimo's way. Massimo gave the Commissioner a dirty look followed by an obscene gesture then side stepped him and continued on his way.
As Hale and Punishment are tended to, the announcers discuss Massimo's attack. Apparently his threat to the Commissioner from earlier in the month weren't mere words!
Wally Richter pinned B.A. Brakkas with the Earthshaker in 0:05:45. Rating: -* 1/4 (Wally Richter won the WCWF TV Title.) [Hanoi Xan interfered against B.A. Brakkas.]

Frank Gresham interviewed Brett Hale and Cpl. Punishment. Hale isn't happy with how their match ended. He'll make the most of it and promises Punishment first shot at the TV Title if he wins tonight. They shake hands. Hale adds that he and Punishment have something in common: they both have a strong love for America. Hale believes Punishment is a good person deep inside, but takes out his pain and frustration on others. "The Ayatollah is gone; let go of your guilt. Then maybe we could be friends instead of rivals." The Corporal says Hale is naive. Brett means well, but doesn't really understand Punishment, or what soldiers and marines go through. "You're never the same person again after boot camp."

Bad News (Eddie Bearden and Porkchop Jones) and The Jolly Green Giant defeated The Orient Express (Louis Dupre and Mehmet Suleiman) and Bulk Logan when Bearden pinned Suleiman after a backbreaker in 0:08:04. Rating: -* 3/4
The heel team was supposed to be Logan, Stan Trump, and Isileli Kaelo. However, Kaelo was nowhere to be found and Million Dollar Stan refused to be in a match against The Jolly Green Giant. The announcers note that Trump has never retracted his bounty against The Giant, but nobody has been brave and/or foolhardy enough to try to collect it lately. The Orient Express stepped into the match on short notice. Logan spent most of the match refusing to tag in. Nevertheless, this is gives Bad News a pinfall on the Express and should cement them as the next challengers for the tag titles.

For his own personal safety, Trump refuses to be at any wrestling event where Jolly is also present. Eddie Bearden shows up on the interview set and asks if Trump has heard about about Jolly wrestling on tonight's show. Trump turns pale and flees. Gresham points out Jolly is not here tonight. This served as an ongoing distraction for both teams. Bulk Logan took advantage, coming to ringside and pulling Eddie Bearden off the apron then throwing him back-first into the ringpost and taking him out of the match. As soon as the match was over, The Orient Express attacked High Energy while Jones checked on his partner. Bearden remained down a suspiciously long time and Jones signalled for help as the show went off the air.
Eddie Bearden suffered a back injury. He will be out for approximately 2 months.
WCWF Saturday Night #69 - aired Nov 2, 1985
The announcers open by recapping the conclusion of last week's show. Bad News not only lost a chance to face The Orient Express for the World Tag Titles at The Wrestling Classic PPV, but Eddie Bearden was injured so there's no chance he will be the one to get the shot at Bulk Logan's World Heavyweight Title on the PPV either. An annoucement is expected later tonight about the status of the title match.
The Orient Express (Louis Dupre and Mehmet Suleiman) and Jose Castro defeated Greg Gamble, Wolfie Brown, and Vaughn Parsons when Dupre pinned Parsons with the Eiffel Tower in 0:05:25. Rating: * 3/4 [Hanoi Xan interfered against Greg Gamble.] [Hanoi Xan interfered against Vaughn Parsons.]
Dupre won the match with a top-rope neckbreaker.
Interview: With a country twang in his voice, Raymond Buck talks about his TV Title match tonight. He's gonna win the championship for all the little Buckaroos watching at home.
Jimmy Blast pinned Antwan Soto with the Gourdbuster in 0:03:17. Rating: ***
Rick Blood attacked Blast after the match.
Isileli Kaelo pinned Dudley Snyder with the Kick of Fear in 0:01:08. Rating: 3/4*
Kaelo was accompanied to the ring by Hanoi Xan. After the match, Xan confirmed The Tongan Terror has joined The Syndicate.
Harold Hume pinned Mark Dunlap with the Claymore in 0:04:46. Rating: -**
Frank Gresham interviews Commissioner Pedro Gonzalez. He explains the WCWF Board of Directors is in a difficult position. Bulk Logan needs to defend the World Heavyweight Title and, with Eddie Bearden having made a reasonable challenge, they were going to force Logan to face him whether he wanted to or not. The Board and the fans certainly think Bearden is a worthy contender, even if Logan does not. There are several others who might be granted a title shot instead, but they are already booked in the US Title tournament. Gresham suggests the recently returned Alpha Bravo, but Gonazlez points out Logan beat Bravo at the World Cup of Wrestling earlier this year to unify the Canadian Heavyweight Title with the WCWF World Heavyweight Title. "Big In Japan" plays and The Jolly Green Giant walks onto the interview set. Jolly says he has never asked for a title shot because he was more concerned about entertaining children, both in the USA and Japan. However, he thinks Bulk Logan as champion sets a very bad example for children and wants to put an end to his title reign. Commissioner Gonazlez says that The Jolly Green Giant has never been pinned or submitted in more than a decade in WCWF so he's entitled to any open title shot he wants.
The Awesome McKnight Brothers (Bruce McKnight and Ralph McKnight) defeated Alvin Ayers and Grover Delgado when Ravishing Ralph pinned Delgado with the Sexy Slam in 0:04:31. Rating: * 1/4
The announcers talk excitedly about the huge world title match announcement. John Elliott declares it the biggest main event of the decade. Robbie Atkinson thinks Bulk Logan is getting screwed over by having such short notice about his opponent.
Sol Salamanca pinned Rudolph Love with the Toluca Sunrise in 0:15:33. Rating: 1/2*
Chris Reese pinned Marc Gentry with the Bad Ending in 0:03:18. Rating: * 1/4
Baron Von Kaiser pinned Irving Dixon with the Kaiser Roll in 0:02:28. Rating: **
Pre-taped promos from Blast, Salamanca, Reese, and Kaiser about the US Title tournament at the PPV.
Raymond Buck pinned Steve Hecker after the Buckshot in 0:06:16. Rating: 3/4* (Raymond Buck won the WCWF TV Title.)
Joe Dean was watching at ringside, but The Orient Express attacked him. Hecker was distracted by this and turned around right into a big slingshot clothesline for the pinfall. Frank Gresham interviews the new champion who says the fans "got more bang for their buck!"
News & Rumors
WCWF severed relations with enhancement talent Adam Dodson over unprofessional conduct in his match against Bruiser Barton.
Eddie Bearden was going to face Bulk Logan at The Wrestling Classic, but he is now out of action until the New Year. Bearden uffered a real back injury when Bulk Logan threw him into the ringpost in a planned spot. Some believe Logan may have caused the injury deliberately out of a real desire not to work with Bearden.
WCWF had to scramble to get Jolly ready, recording the interview segment after the rest of the show. Dirtsheets report Jolly was intended to challenge Bulk Logan for the title, but not until the January PPV. With few alternates, plans changed.
WCWF is said to be planning some kind of special match to main event for the January PPV.

New Wrestler Notes
A lot of new faces have debuted due to roster turnover, people quitting, and injuries.
Hiro Shima and Kendo Nagasaki are named after real wrestlers, although in this case Nagasaki is actually Japanese instead of a white guy under a mask.
"Hammerhead" Harold Hume is taken from the event flyers in the opening credits of "The Wrestler", with some Rowdy Roddy Piper in his personality.
Rob Dynamo, Bad Wolf Bridges, and Sam "Steamboat" Sully are also taken from the opening credits of "The Wrestler". Bridges is filling the niche of the Strongbows, Billy White Wolf, etc without attempting to be a direct analogy to any one of them.
Oliver Nash is basically this universe's Scott Hall, but with a gimmick akin to Big Josh or The Yukon Lumberjacks.
Raymond Buck takes some inspiration from The Young Bucks, but otherwise he's a creation of the Random Wrestler Generator. Daron Cline
The McKnight Brothers are exports are old internet exports someone else created long ago. Ralph has elements of Rick Rude and Bruce has some elements of Bob and Brad Armstrong, but neither is a direct analogy. In any case, the team is (supposedly) Canadian.
Greg Gamble, Daron Cline, and all the jobbers are Random Wrestler Generator creations.

[Tournament Quarterfinals]: Chris Reese pinned Rick Samson after a powerslam in 0:10:22. Rating: *** 3/4
[Tournament Quarterfinals]: Jimmy Blast pinned Rick Blood with the Gourdbuster in 0:11:32. Rating: **** 1/4
Blast and Blood were supposed to face off at Fall Brawl for the US Title until Mean Massimo prevented the match from happening. This was a grudge match as well as a chance at winning gold, and it alternated between technical proficiency and some brutal brawling.
[Tournament Semifinals]: Bruiser Barton pinned Sol Salamanca with the Calf Branding in 0:05:16. Rating: ** 3/4
Barton and Salamanca shook hands before the match.
[Tournament Semifinals]: Chris Reese pinned Jimmy Blast with the Bad Ending in 0:04:04. Rating: *** 1/4
Although Reese didn't have any easy match against Rick Samson in the opening round, Blast was clearly more worn down from his more intense fight with Rick Blood. Reese was able to literally overpower the man whose injury was the cause of this tournament.
The Orient Express (Louis Dupre and Mehmet Suleiman) defeated High Energy (Mark Gibson and Rob Dynamo) when Suleiman made Gibson submit to the Asiatic Spike in 0:12:23. Rating: * 1/2 (The Orient Express retained the WCWF Tag Team Titles.) [Hanoi Xan interfered against Mark Gibson.]
Frank Gresham interviews a very tired Jammin' Jimmy Blast. He expresses disappointment that he wasn't able to recapture the US Title tonight, but he can't deny Barton and Reese have proven they deserve to wrestle for the title. "To be the man, you've got to beat the man. And night, Chris Reese beat me."
[Tournament Finals]: No-Time-Limit-Match for the vacant WCWF United States Title: Bruiser Barton pinned Chris Reese after a running powerslam in 0:04:37. Rating: *** (Bruiser Barton won the WCWF United States Title.)
WCWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: THE JOLLY GREEN GIANT vs BULK LOGAN (c)
Logan stalls at ringside, working the crowd while Jolly patiently waits in the center of the ring. The champion finally enters, stalls on the lockup, and tries to cheat on it with a boot...which has no effect. Jolly throws Logan around until the champ bails. The Giant waits and Logan finally reenters. More stalling. Bulk runs into a bearhug, but gets out of it with a facerake. Logan manages to whip Jolly into the ropes and hit a big boot on the rebound...to no effect. Logan gets pummeled with clubbing blows then slammed repeatedly. The Choke Bomb is signaled as Logan begs for mercy...and is saved when Mean Massimo hits the ring with a steel chair and nails The Jolly Green Giant in the back with it.
The Jolly Green Giant defeated Bulk Logan by disqualification in 0:05:41. Rating: -** 1/2 (Bulk Logan retained the WCWF World Heavyweight Title.) [Mean Massimo interfered against The Jolly Green Giant.]
Jolly slowly turns around to face his assailant...right into a crushing blow to the head from the steel chair that topples the Giant! "That has to be the biggest chairshot in the history of professional wrestling!" declares John Elliott on commentary. The crowd goes silent with shock as The Jolly Green Giant topples to the mat like a redwood tree. Massimo holds up the chair so the crowd can see the massive dent in it and thunderous boos rain down.
Mean Massimo has little time to savor his "triumph" because Jammin' Jimmy Blast comes charging down to the ring. Mark Gibson and Rob Dynamo are following, though Gibson is moving slower after taking that Asiatic Spike earlier. Sol Salamanca is next. Massimo takes one look at the odds, drops the chair, and hightails it out the other side of the ring and off through the crowd. That's no easy as fans are grabbing and screaming at him. Someone even throws beer on him. Meanwhile, Bulk Logan has grabbed his title belt from ringside and makes a hasty departure, steering clear of everything. EMTs make their way to the ring and the closing shot of the PPV is The Jolly Green Giant motionless and bloody in the middle of the ring while many fans at ringside continue look on it shock.

WCWF Saturday Night #70 - aired Nov 9, 1985
The show opens with announcers John Elliott and Robbie Atkinson recapping the events of The Wrestling Classic. Elliott things the US Title tournament will go down as one of the greatest tournaments in WCWF history. However, the show had a very dark ending, with The Jolly Green Giant having his head based in by Mean Massimo for seemingly no reason. Fans are outraged and the locker room is in an uproar. Commissioner Gonzalez will address the situation momentarily.
We got to Frank Gresham on the interview set with Commissioner Pedro Gonzalez. However, the commissioner can say anything, Sol Salamanca interrupts and cuts an intense promo in a mix of English and Spanish before storming off. Gresham sums it up: there are a lot of people pissed off at Mean Massimo right now, but few are as pissed as Salamanca! Commissioner Gonzalez seems a bit ruffled so we go to the action for now.
Greg Gamble pinned Antwan Soto with the Big Gamble in 0:02:13. Rating: -1/4*
Back to Gresham and Gonzalez. The latter has never seen Sol Salamanca so upset. A lot of people are upset right now. The Jolly Green Giant was knocked unconscious and severely concussed. If a normal-sized man had been hit as hard as he was they would have a fractured skull. He advises Massimo to flee back to Sicily before a very angry giant finds him. In the meantime, WAR GAMES will take place at Starrcade. Everyone who wants a piece of Mean Massimo will be on one team. Massimo and anyone who is willing to stand by him after this will be on the other team. If that results in a 10-on-1 handicapped match Massimo too bad; Massimo brought this on himself.
Oliver Nash pinned Irving Dixon with the Northern Lights in 0:03:57. Rating: * 1/2
The Southern Maulers (Texas Mauler and Missouri Mauler) defeated Tory McCormick and Dave Austin when TX Mauler pinned McCormick after a lariat in 0:02:24. Rating: -1/2*
J.C. Magnum pinned Vaughn Parsons with the Magnum SK in 0:03:41. Rating: -* 1/2
Frank Gresham interviews Bulk Logan. The world champion denies having anything to do with the attack on The Jolly Green Giant, "but I would probably lie about it to your face even if I did, brother." He wants to know who will face him at Starrcade. Gresham doesn't know. Logan says he's beaten all the chumps around here and he should be allowed to skip the PPV to get an early start his winter vacation in Florida.
Atomikku Tokkyu (Hiro Shima and Kendo Nagasaki) defeated Grover Delgado and Dudley Snyder when Shima pinned Delgado with the Atomic Suplex in 0:01:14. Rating: 1/4*
After the match, Nagasaki attacked Delgado and Snyder with his signature kendo stick and chased them back to the locker room.
"Million Dollar" Stan Trump comes to the ring and demands a microphone. He gloats about how good it is to have gotten rid of that big, ugly, stinky, stupid oaf known as The Jolly Green Giant. Sol Salamanca comes out for his match, still fired up and tells Million Dollar Stan to get lost.
Sol Salamanca pinned Mark Dunlap with the Toluca Sunrise in 0:03:08. Rating: 1/4*
Handicap-Match: The Syndicate (Isileli Kaelo and Wally Richter) defeated Marc Gentry, Drew Farley, and Alvin Ayers when Kaelo pinned Farley with the Kick of Fear in 0:03:49. Rating: -1/2*
This was scheduled to be a six-man, but Hanoi Xan declared that his men could easily win despite the numerical odds against them. Of course, he remained at ringside in a managerial role so it was more like a 2.5-to-3 handicap.
B.A. Brakkas pinned Raymond Buck with the Bad Ass Slam in 0:08:50. Rating: -* 1/2 (B.A. Brakkas won the WCWF TV Title.)
Saturday Night's Main Event III - Nov 9, 1985 Hersheypark Arena, Hershey, PA (taped Nov 5)

Bruiser Barton pinned Bad Wolf Bridges with the Calf Branding in 0:05:06. Rating: ** 1/4 (Bruiser Barton retained the WCWF United States Title.)
Mean Massimo pinned Perry Strong with the Mean Machine in 0:06:15. Rating: **
Bonesaw McGraw pinned Moose Hartley with the Bonesaw Elbow in 0:08:03. Rating: ** 3/4
Card rating: **
WCWF Saturday Night #71 - aired Nov 16, 1985
Jose Castro made Bobby Jackson submit to the Castro Sleeper in 0:07:12. Rating: **
Frank Gresham interviewed Mean Massimo. He didn't take out The Jolly Green Giant to collect Trump's bounty. He did it to send a message. He's been sending the message since Fall Brawl: give him want he wants or he'll make everyone suffer. Massimo blames everything that happened on Commissioner Gonzalez. If the commissioner had simply given him the US Title then The Jolly Green Giant wouldn't have ended up in the hospital. He's not afraid of War Games. He will enjoy bringing the pain. He brought in someone else who feels the same way. Johnny "Bloody" Valentine joins the interview. Valentine reminisces about being one half of The Painbringers with Carl "The Crippler" Stevens. They ended people's careers! Now he's back for more. Massimo expects no trouble finding two more teammates.
Alpha Bravo pinned Irving Dixon with the Omega Glory in 0:03:26. Rating: -* 1/4
Backstage, Massimo and Valentine talked to Cpl. Punishment. Massimo he's a man that knows all about hurting people and they want him to join the team. Punishment sets his substantial jaw and stands there silent for an uncomfortably long time before finally speaking. He calls Massimo and Valentine a couple of sadists. Punishment seen and done things he'd rather forget. He's ordered men to do terrible things. But he did all that for what believed were good reasons. For the last four years he's been especially hard on the wrestlers of WCWF, but he never did anything as viscious as what Massimo did to The Jolly Green Giant. He refuses their offer and storms off the interview set after his last words: "You maggots disgust me." Massimo is visibly pissed.
The Awesome McKnight Brothers (Bruce McKnight and Ralph McKnight) defeated Drew Farley and Sam Sully when Ravishing Ralph pinned Sully after a pumphandle powerslam in 0:05:35. Rating: * 1/2
Backstage, Massimo and Valentine talk Bonesaw McGraw about joining them. "Bonesaw doesn't do this teamwork stuff. He marches to his own drum, ya dig? And I've got other things to attend to at Starrcade. Bigger fish, if you will, yeah. But I know couple-a guys from Memphis. Real sharp guys, yeah."
Rick Samson pinned Teddy Walls after a spinebuster slam in 0:04:40. Rating: **

Bonesaw McGraw pinned Marc Gentry with the Bonesaw Elbow in 0:02:20. Rating: 1/2*
Bonesaw McGraw cus a promo after his match. He says he's proven himself all over the world, from Memphis to Tokyo. He wants Bruiser Barton at Starrcade. "Bonesaw is ready...to become a champ-ion!"
High Energy (Mark Gibson and Rob Dynamo) and Jimmy Blast defeated Dewey Cheatham and Howe (Benjamin Cheatham, George Dewey and William Howe) when Blast pinned Dewey after a spinebuster slam in 0:10:20. Rating: ** 1/2
B.A. Brakkas defeated Chris Reese by disqualification in 0:04:31. Rating: ** 1/4 (B.A. Brakkas retained the WCWF TV Title.) [Raymond Buck interfered against B.A. Brakkas.]
Buck dropped Brakkas with the Buckshot (slingshot lariat). He went for the More Bang For Your Buck (somersault slam), but Reese interrupted - angry at Buck for costing him the title match. Buck planted Reese with the Carbon Footprint, but turned around into the Bad Ass Slam from a recovered Brakkas. The champ ended the show standing tall talking trash to the man who attacked him.

Rollins says they've spent years carving up the territories: Memphis, Texas, Georgia, Mid-Atlantic, Southpaw Regional Wrestling. They've sharpened their knives for the finest steaks and their skills against the toughest opponents. This week they got the catering order of their lives: WCWF Starrcade '85! Starrcade '85 Preview November 28 - live from The Omni, Atlanta, GA!
The Southern Maulers vs. A Returning Team The popular brawler duo will open the show against surprise opponents. It has been stated the mystery tag team has been in WCWF before. Rumored teams include The Moondogs, The Strongbows, Old School (David Runner and Eddie Fargo), and Samoan Storm. The latter is probably the most popular guess after they wrestled in the Battle of Seattle. Another wild rumor stemming from the Seattle show says it will be "return" of 1970s team The Yukon Lumberjacks, but with new members - presumably Oliver Nash and perhaps Ken Richardson donning the flannel.
Rick Samson vs. Alpha Bravo Another late addition to the card. Bravo has issued a challenge to Samson to find out which of them is the true strongman of WCWF.
Triangle Match For The WCWF TV Title: Raymond Buck vs. "The Natural" Chris Reese vs. B. A. Brakkas (c) Buck debuted recently, won a battle royal for a title shot, and made the most of it only to drop the belt to Brakkas. Reese received a title shot by virtue of coming in second in the US Title tournament at The Wrestling Classic, only to have Buck interfere in the match. None of these three is a technician or a flyer, but their vaguely similiar wrestling styles are contrasted by their very different personalities and backgrounds. Reese the the narcissistic bodybuilder from Florida, Buck the rough and tumble country boy, and Brakkas having overcome a tough inner-city upbringing to become a celebrity before becoming a wrestler.
WCWF United States Title: Bonesaw McGraw vs. Bruiser Barton (c) Not a lot of build here, but it is nevertheless a big match. McGraw has looked great since debuting this summer. His unique way of speaking has helped him stand out and his unpredictable behavior has probably rattled some of his opponents. Barton has also had a great year, winning the inaugural King of the Ring tournament then securing his second US Title at The Wrestling Classic. He is a tough, no non-sense Texan and definitely McGraw's toughest opponent yet.
WCWF World Tag Team Titles: British Steel vs. The Orient Express (c) Hanoi Xan guided Louis Dupre and Mehmet Suleiman to a solid reign as tag champions, won from the dominant Supernauts at Fall Brawl. Dreadnaut bounced back from that loss with a new partner. Dynamite aka David Smith had a tumultuous summer that saw him play hot potato with the TV Title. The two Brits have meshed well, but can these metalheads take home the gold?
WCWF World Heavyweight Title: A Mystery Opponent vs. Bulk Logan (c) Logan debuted as a mystery opponent at last year's Starrcade. He built of his previous stints in WCWF and Japan to win the world title at Wrestlemania, but his arrogant attitude, disinterest in being the face of the company, and his shameless cheating has made everyone - the fans, the other wrestlers, and management - despise him. He was supposed to defend against Eddie Bearden as the two have exchanged words, but Logan injured Bearden so that match has been tentatively postponed to January. The Bulkster thinks there's nobody left to challenge him. Commissioner Gonzalez has assured him a worthy challenger will face him on the PPV, but their identity is being withheld essentially as a punishment for Logan's bad behavior.
After Battle of Seattle, a rumor started that either Verne Greene will come out of retirement or he will be in the corner of his son, Greg, to face Bulk Logan, but either of those possibilities is doubtful.
War Games Jammin' Jimmy Blast, High Energy ("Maniac" Mark Gibson & Rob Dynamo), and Sol Salamanca vs. Mean Massimo, Johnny "Bloody" Valentine, and The Butchers ("Dastardly" Doug Rollins & "Frantic" Frank Richards)
Massimo has had one hell of a year. He won the TV Title then tried to sell it. He beat his mentor, the legendary Mario Mancini, at Wrestlemania. Massimo is haunted by the sense that he just doesn't quite have what it takes to be world champion. In recent months, Mancini has embraced his sadistic side while causing chaos. After failing to win the US Title from Jimmy Blast, Massimo forced Blast to forfeit the title due to injury. Denied entry in the resulting tournament, Massimo has attacked those competing for "his" championship, plus other seemingly-random wrestlers. His chairshot heard round the world at The Wrestling Classic put The Jolly Green Giant out of action. Not did the attack alienate the entire locker room, but it's even gotten him a few death threats. Extra security has been added to ensure fans don't assault Massimo at ringside. He is a man with no friends who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, and that makes him incredibly dangerous.
Massimo's teammates are allies of convenience. Johnny Valentine came back to WCWF after a stint in the NWA, eager to resume his own brand of sadism, which is more technical than Massimo's lights-out brawling style. The Butchers are basically mercenaries for this match and they seem to have their own brand of crazy.
The other team is a much more unified force. Blast and Salamanca are out to avenge The Jolly Green Giant, being two of his closest friends. As previously noted, Blast already had beef with Massimo over the attack at Fall Brawl. Gibson and Dynamo are less experienced and don't have the personal friendship with Jolly, but they're disgusted by Massimo like everyone else and ready to back up Blast, who is their friend. Salamanca also participated in the second ever War Games match, at this year's Great American Bash. Blast hasn't been in either previous War Games match, but he has been in some brutal cage matches and street fights, most recently against Jake Blackheart at Wrestlemania. Gibson and Dynamo have no past experience in anything except standard matches, and that could prove the team's weak point.
One sure bet for War Games: it's going to get bloody.

Starrcade '85 - Nov 28, 1985 The Omni, Atlanta, GA broadcast on closed-circuit television and pay-per-view
The announcers run down tonight's card and speculate about who will face Bulk Logan tonight for the World Heavyweight Title. In the meantime, we have footage of the night's other mystery men of the night arriving earlier at the arena. Two sports cars pull up and out step two familiar-looking well-dressed young men. Each man then opens their passenger door and helps out young lady in an fancy dress. We saw them briefly early this year, but now Hell on Wheels are back!
Hell on Wheels (Hal Racer and Luke Racer) defeated The Southern Maulers (Texas Mauler and Missouri Mauler) when Hot Hal pinned Missouri with the Spinout in 0:10:23. Rating: ** 3/4
No-Time-Limit-Triangle Match: Chris Reese defeated B.A. Brakkas and Raymond Buck: x Reese beat R-Buck via disqualification in 0:01:02 x Reese beat Brakkas via disqualification in 0:05:02 Rating: 1/2* (Chris Reese won the WCWF TV Title.)
What a disaster! Buck accidentally took out the referee when Reese moved out the way. A second referee came out and called for a DQ. An irate Buck soon returned and tried to take out Reese with the Buckshot, but Reese ducked and Brakkas got leveled instead. All three men continued to fight, knocking down several officials who tried to break things up. Reese won on a technicality.
British Steel (Dreadnaut and Dynamite) defeated The Orient Express (Louis Dupre and Mehmet Suleiman) when Dreadnaut pinned Suleiman after the Rule Britannia in 0:06:02. Rating: * 3/4 (British Steel won the WCWF Tag Team Titles.)
The Brits hit a big double leaping lariat to win the titles..
Rick Samson defeated Alpha Bravo by disqualification in 0:12:55. Rating: 1/2*
Arguably the two strongest men in WCWF battled back and forth, testing their might against each other, but with Bravo using the occasional underhanded tactic. When the fight spilled outside, a frustrated Bravo choked Samson with an electrical cable, getting himself disqualified.
Bonesaw McGraw pinned Bruiser Barton with the Bonesaw Elbow in 0:19:15. Rating: **** 1/4 (Bonesaw McGraw won the WCWF United States Title.)
Bulk Logan came out with the World Heavyweight Title and cuts an in-ring promo. Everybody's lips are sealed about who his opponent is tonight, but it doesn't matter. The Bulkster is the baddest dude and the smartest man with the biggest pythons. He's the greatest world champion ever, brother.
And then “Metal Health” by Quiet Riot plays, heralding the return of Randy "The Ram" Robinson! A terrified look comes across Logan's face. The announcers note that Logan won the title from Robinson at Wrestlemania, but this is their first rematch.
Randy Robinson pinned Bulk Logan with the Ram Jam in 0:05:35. Rating: -* (Randy Robinson won the WCWF World Heavyweight Title.)
Logan immediately tried to run away, but Robinson wouldn't let him.
War Games No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Match: Jimmy Blast, High Energy (Mark Gibson and Rob Dynamo), and Sol Salamanca defeated Mean Massimo, Johnny Valentine, and The Butchers (Doug Rollins and Frank Richards) when Blast made Dastardly Doug submit to a figure-four leglock in 0:22:14. Rating: *** 1/4
Blast and Massimo were the last two in and had to be restrained from fighting several times before they entered the cage. Everyone bled. Things looked bad for the faces when Valentine got Dynamo in a figure-four and Massimo started delivering multiple Mean Machines to his trapped opponent. Dynamo was saved by his tag partner, with Gibson fisherman superplexing Rollins onto Valentine to break up the hold. Rollins' feet barely cleared the cage roof. Richards subsequently knocked himself out by hitting his head on the ringpost when Salamanca dodged a Meat Skewer attempt. That gave Blast's team a temporary 4-on-3 advantage and they capitalized.
Card rating: * 3/4
