Well someone might as well start this thread so I suppose it'll be me..
I decided to run my first tournament called Seeing 2020 Whose The Best ?
One thing I've noticed as I decided for the first tournament I would baically skip the matches and check the results at the end of it all.. After random matches it would boot me back to the tournament screen (tournament screen = the main screen with the list of the tournaments)
I also have a suggestion, which it maybe apart of the final product when I buy it. But how can one output the html ? Similar to TNM
Aside from that my first tournament was won by Doomsday... Although in most match wins it was a tie between Doomsday and Damian Saucedo I like what I see. I was very shocked to see Nico not do so well in the tournament.
But that's the only suggestions/comments I have for now. I'll have to play around with it a bunch more. Which I'm hoping to do today.

Hey Ken, Thanks a bunch for the quick feedback :-) When you ran your tournament, what did the dropdown box next to "Stop After" say? It only runs all the way through if "Finale" is selected. Otherwise it stops at the end of the number of rounds you select. I.e. if you're in a match in round 1 and "2 Rounds" were selected, it would take you back to the main section at the end of round 2. If you then selected "1 Round", it would stop again at the end of round 3 and so on. It will also take you back to the tournament list if you see the match engine on-screen and switch away to another program, unless you clicked the wheel icon in the main menu (General Settings) and checked the option "Don't End Running Match When Switching To Another Program". TE doesn't have an HTML gateway per se BUT you can copy any results list to the clipboard by double-clicking it. You will hear a quick beep to signify the data was copied to the clipboard. You can then use it in any program. If it turns out that people would like to keep the play-by-play and generate some sort of publishable output, I'll add this to a later update. One really shouldn't start changing things around a few days before release because that could lead to new bugs ruining the experience. Better to add new things in an organized way with a dedicated beta testing phase. In Round Robins and Swiss-Rules Tournaments, points are awarded for wins, losses and draws according to what you selected. The number of wins won't determine the winner.
Thanks again for your post!

Hey Oliver
Yeah your no doubt right for why it kicked me back, I figured the first time playing with it I would simply leave all options as default before I looked more deeply into things for the next few tournaments.
I personally would prefer the HTML gateway but that's just me, but I think my reasoning is when it comes to working with the website itself it's just easier for me to add and get things updated. But like I said that's no doubt just me as I don't think many users run on old html websites anymore for the promotions at hand. If anything I see them running on this board or a wordpress site so the copy/paste option would be perfect for them but I'm kinda old school like that.
As for changes I wouldn't expect you to change it this close to the release for that same reason (bugs)
For my surprise for the winner I had the option turned on "let push factor in for winner" where as for my next tournament I'll have that turned off since I've never paid much attention to it

Yes, I completely get what you're saying. It really depends on how people are going to use TE.
As you can probably tell already, it offers more of a casual-gaming experience. TNM 7 SE has a STEEP learning curve, and not everybody has the patience or wants to engage with a sim on that level these days.
A ton of things are hidden below the surface, and if you're even unsure of your options, hit the [F1] key at any time and you'll get taken to the relevant part of the documentation.
Are you familiar with the Tournament Template->Tournament->Tournament Session systematic? A few testers were surprised that they were able to re-run tournaments as often as they wish. In fact, doing so activates the "Leaderboard" where you see the best and worst performers over all sessions you have run for a particular tournament.
The main rankings are compiled over all sessions for all tournaments, so that's the difference between the two.
But yeah: the main thing to understand is that you can re-run the same tournament a hundred times if you want to. The results from each session will remain available if you click a tournament and then click the looking glass icon above the tournament list.

Nope I'm not familiar with the tournament template..
I know one option I thought about suggesting but wasn't quite sure if I wanted to because I know it would be a mixed reaction and I think most would side against it but I know prior to me buying TNM 7 when I goofed with TNM 6.5 the one thing I enjoyed doing which is no doubt the most useless thing in the world of wrestling but was running a tournament but involving a title belt so anytime the champion wrestled the belt was on the line but I know that option would no doubt be something that would get mixed reactions from as I don't think everyone would want to do that. But I know I tend to do things that at times you don't see in wrestling promotions for example like that tournament.
Completely understand about the steep learning curve in TNM 7 SE .. but it if it wasn't for TNM 7 SE I honestly don't think any of our efeds would exist anymore, I know mine has gone through a number of games: Zeus Pro, TNM 7 SE, AWE then back to TNM 7 SE
I will no doubt setup a second tournament shortly and play around with the options and setup a bit. I've never been one to set anything up too complicated so I'm sure it currently exceeds anything that I would imagine. I think the only other thing that I may attempt but I think this is just me pulling something outta my ass because in one way it would be kinda interesting but in another way I don't actually see me or anyone doing it but a TLC tournament.. however it would be different than the TLC PPV.. Start off with three tiers in the tournament.. Okay catching up with my own thoughts three wouldn't exactly work you'd have to do four.. lets lay this out to better understand it and see how it sounds on apper: Tier 1 - Tables - all matches in this are table matches Tier 2 - Ladders - all matches in this are ladder matches Tier 3 - Chairs - all matches in this are chair matches Tier 4 - Regular - just regular matches
In level 2 of the tournament (for example) tier 1 and 3 combine so that level would be Tables & Chair matches then the other part would be more ladder matches then the final level of the tournament would be TLC ... But that wouldn't work now that I see it written down it's got too many complex problems to do that.
Yeah that's a dumb idea, but i'll leave it in the post just incase it tweaks someones creative side and they want to try to play with it.
Onto my next tournament, a tag team one.. I've always had trouble with tag teams, not sure if they don't intrigue me.. But I like the fact that it randomly slaps tag teams together. Will truly be something to see teams gel together.. For now just basic tournaments... I think one of the future tournaments I'll have to take a page from XPW (and no doubt many Japanese promotions) and do Tournament Of Death.

I do recommend reading the first section of the documentation (should take no more than five minutes) so you understand the basic concepts behind TE.
The idea of a travelling title is interesting but I'm not sure if it's a good fit for TE as it is today. I'd probably keep this for where it makes more sense: circuits.
Personally I enjoy running Swiss-Rules Tournaments the most because they have: - an aura of unpredictability because you draw your first opponent randomly, - a huge strategic component because losing early will put you at a competitive disadvantage - by far the most complex tie-breaking which always give you a logical order of tied wrestlers but also one that looks at several different things to get to that point; I've had tournaments where the top 4 would have advanced, and the final match of the final round (which didn't involve anybody from the top 4) led to the #4 and #5 guy to switch despite not being in the match.
The latter is because the key tie-breaker in these tournaments is how well your opponents have done. A completely unrelated match can make or break you, just like in tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. I dig that :-)

I'll be sure to check it out... But going back to my original post, I find I'm still getting booted randomly... I think its the wrestlers that are doing it since I noticed when it has to do with certain wrestlers as most of my wrestlers were created using the Random Wrestler Generator that use to be on the TNM site.. I'm slowly looking at replacing them with ones based on real wrestlers or more fictional but the more fictional ones are dependent on when you finish the talent enhancement update that can generate all sorts of talent not just jobbers

Hmmm... that is really weird. I'd be happy to take a look at it and see if I can find a pattern and/or what is causing this.
If you can, please ZIP up your TNM TE folder and send it to support@tnm7.com via WeTransfer.com. Would that be possible?
Thanks!

Honestly I've had the problem in TNM 7 SE as well, I just didn't pay attention to it as much as it tends to hang during simming matches.. But I bet it has to do with the created wrestlers I have, something may not be right but I can see me changing up to wrestlers based on real wrestlers. But i'll send you the files to try and help fix the bug..
WeTransfer didn't seem to find the zip file so I tossed it on MediaFire and just sent the link

Sometimes TNM with have issues when one guy can't execute any moves on the other.

the move thing isn't a problem that's for sure. Max Height & Max Weight ?
I know one of the wrestlers that I have created that I know has been problematic has a max weight of 8 for his finisher, should I set it at 0 ? How would I set a max height ?

The main reason why you're getting kicked out is because four of your guys have been assigned dives that lie outside the number of dives in the dive database:
Durrant Simpson dive1=71 of 53
Eyk Menz dive2=57 of 53
Gregory Green dive1=63 of 53
Yoshito Iizuka dive4=72 of 53
How were these wrestlers created?

Random Wrestler Generator that you use to have on the TNM7 site. Which is why I've been itching for the new talent creation generator to get created with the update I asked. This isn't the first time I've had issues with the old RWG

That plugin was removed YEARS ago for that very reason. Your best bet is to delete these four wrestlers and to no longer use the Random Wrestler Generator.

Okay will do.
On that note any idea for when the update for the new talent enhancement program will be done

I don't wish to put a date out there. After TE is released, I need a break. Will tackle it as the first project back, whenever that is.

Alright no problem. Well I removed 90% of my created wrestlers and now using wrestlers based on real wrestlers just different names.
I have the message ontop of TNM7 saying "maximum moves exceeded by 85" I've been told I can ignore it unless it causes problems but that brings me to a question... Say for example I have AJ Styles whose finisher is Styles Clash.. But I renamed the finisher, does that mean I can delete Styles Clash or no ?

You can delete at move at any time BUT: the safest way to delete moves is via the Database Cleaner plugin because it will only suggest moves for deleting which aren't being used anywhere and are just sitting in your database.
So if the only place where the Styles Clash (generic move) was used was as the "similar to" move for AJ Styles and you gave him a different finisher, it will no longer be needed.

That's the only way I know how to delete moves... Okay I guess it's not because I know you can do it within the game itself but I generally use the Database Cleaner and after making lots of changes just let it load everything that can be cleaned and wipe it clean.

Yes, that makes sense.
Deleting directly from the ControlCenter has one advantage, too: you can delete moves that are in-use. You'll have to select a replacement move to use instead.
