DDP: "Buff Bagwell, World Heavyweight Champion. Congratulations Buff! Enjoy it you will always remember your first time. It was a hell of a match wasn't it. We beath the crap out of each other but imagine what a match we could have one on one."
Sean Stasiak interrupts the interview.
SS: "Oh so we are talking rematches already. Well I owe you a receipt from last night. Besides, WCW deserves a champion they can be proud off, like Buff the Stuff or the Mecca of Manhood, not some dirty punk like you. So what do you say, are you man enough to face me tonight."

Match observations:
Shane Helms had to be helped to the back by his teammates after being slammed into the concrete by Kwee Wee.
Team Canada challenged the Natural Born Thrillers to a rematch, claiming that the Tag Team Champions could not beat them in the middle of the ring.
Bagwell didn't seem to take too kindly to Diamond Dallas Page's challenge, or maybe there is some alliance between him and Shawn Stasiak, either way, he couldn't keep Page from victory tonight.

Results of Nitro 6/4/2001:
Christopher Daniels pinned Yang after a waistlock suplex in 0:04:42. Rating: *** 1/4
Interview: Introducing ADONIS
WCW Heavyweight Champion Buff Bagwell enters the ring flanked by Reno, Johnny the Bull, and Shawn Stasiak. BB: "What you see in the ring right here, are four examples of a modern Adonis. Wrestlers today don't have the looks, they don't have the flash, they don't have the style. They look like bums that stumbled in off the streets. And the King of the Bums is Dirty Dallas Punk. A guy like that should never be a champion, should never have his picture on a poster. These men here, I have handpicked to lead the new WCW with me. Soon we will have all their belts."
The rest of ADONIS take turns praising Buff, until the Natural Born Thrillers interrupt.
Sean O'Haire: "Stop, I can't take much more of this. Johnny, Shawn, Reno, the Thrillers were supposed to be the new face of WCW, but now you are throwing yourself in with this knucklehead. The closest you will get to gold is polishing Bagwell's belt.
Chuck Palumbo: "You want to do Bagwell's dirty work, well we just talked to DDP, so how about tonight you three stooges meet us and Page, men to men."
Shawn Stasiak: "Fine, we will take you on. We will show you what real men are made of."
Kaz Hayashi pinned Mike Sanders with the Flying Senton in 0:07:28. Rating: ** 3/4 [Leia Meow interfered against Mike Sanders.]
Mike Awesome pinned Hugh Morrus with the Awesome Bomb in 0:09:04. Rating: *** 1/4
AJ Styles defeated Shannon Moore by countout in 0:01:00. Rating: * 1/2
Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo defeated Jason Jett and Lash LeRoux when Romeo pinned LeRoux after a backslide in 0:13:48. Rating: *** 1/2 (Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo retained the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship.)
ADONIS (Johnny the Bull, Reno and Shawn Stasiak) defeated The Natural Born Thrillers (Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire) and Diamond Dallas Page when Johnny the Bull pinned C. Palumbo with the Fuhgetaboutit in 0:12:36. Rating: ** 1/2
Card rating: ** 3/4
Match observations:
It looks like Buff Bagwell picked his team well. Although DDP has been pushing for a title shot, his teams have come up short 2 weeks in a row.
The cruiserweight division has some new blood, AJ styles picked up another win and Christopher Daniels debuted tonight. Both the Tag and Singles champions in the division have been looking strong, can these new wrestlers threaten the status quo?
This just in, Buff Bagwell will make his mandatory 30-day defense next week against Billy Kidman.

Buff Bagwell pinned Billy Kidman with the Buff Blockbuster in 0:09:25. Rating: *** 3/4 (Buff Bagwell retained the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.)
Card rating: *** 3/4
Match observations:
Some great action tonight, particularly the cruiserweight title match. The crowd thought Kaz Hayashi had the title won tonight when he hit the flying senton, but somehow Shane Helms kicked out and went on the win the match.
Based on his win in last week’s main event, Johnny the Bull has been granted a shot at the WCW tag team titles next week with the partner of his choice, Jerry Lawler tried to get him to reveal his partner during an interview, but Johnny was tightlipped. Guess we will have to wait next week to find out who he picked.
Tonight, it was announced that WCW will leave the Las Vegas area for their next PPV, the Great American Bash, originating from the Baltimore Arena on July 14th. Buff Bagwell will have his next title defense, opponent to be announced. Tickets on sale now!!

Card rating: ** 3/4
Match observations:
What a main event, although Johnny the Bull partnered with Reno in the past, he chose Stasiak for this title match. It proved to be a wise choice as the Mecca of Manhood got the pinfall. That makes 3 out of 4 members of ADONIS holding gold. Diamond Dallas Page has been campaigning hard for the title shot at The Great American Bash. He made a strong case tonight pinning Reno. Page is so far unbeaten in singles competition; it would be hard for the WCW executive committee to say no.
Speaking of the Committee, they have extended the Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions deadline for defending the title up until the Great American Bash, where they will face Jamie Noble and Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Match observations:
The WCW executive committee has announced DDP vs Buff Bagwell for The Great American Bash.
Lance Storm stole a win tonight. Kidman has his top contender's match won with the Kid Krusher, but Major Gunns's distraction prevented the 3 count.
Kanyon's interference on the other hand backfired, the foreign object he tried to pass to Mike Awesome ended up in Booker T's hands, but why did he interfere in the first place?

Interview: Who's betta than Kanyon?
Crowd: "Everybody!!!"
Kanyon: "Oh really, well I can name a few people who aren't better than me. Hugh Morris, Jamie Noble, and Kaz Hayashi. That's right, I am 3 and 0 since the Big Bang, but have I gotten a title a title shot? No!! So, I took matters in to my own hands. Booker T won't overlook me now. So, if you are man enough Booker T, bring your title to the Bash, so I can prove to all these rubes, that NO ONE is better than Kanyon."
Kwee Wee pinned Lash LeRoux with the Fruit Loop in 0:07:27. Rating: ** 3/4

The Natural Born Thrillers (Chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire), Diamond Dallas Page and Hugh Morrus defeated ADONIS (Buff Bagwell, Johnny the Bull, Reno and Shawn Stasiak) when O'Haire pinned Johnny the Bull with the Seanton Bomb in 0:08:22. Rating: ** 1/2
Card rating: ** 3/4
Match observations:
Our Cruiserweight 6 man ended prematurely when Evan Karagias knock himself out cold with a tope, that's why they are called high risk moves. He will have a second chance at the Great American bash when 3 Count meets Jung Dragons and AJ Styles Squares off one on one with Christopher Daniels.
Both Jamie Noble and Chavo Guerro dropped singles matches to the champions, it doesn’t look good for their upcoming title shot.
Sean O'Haire earned himself and Chuck Palumbo a rematch for the Tag Team Titles, that match has been signed for the Bash. Also signed is Booker T vs Kanyon

Diamond Dallas Page and Hugh Morrus defeated ADONIS (Buff Bagwell and Reno) when Page pinned Reno with the Diamond Cutter in 0:19:37. Rating: ****
Card rating: *** 1/2
Match observations:
The go-home show for the Great American Bash had 2 surprise re-debuts. First Konnan was nearly victorious in a hard-fought match against Mike Sanders. K-dawg had just locked in the Tequila Sunrise when the bell rang. After the match Konnan took the microphone and told Sanders to meet him Sunday to finish what they started.
Second, KroniK returned and picked up a win. When Jerry Lawler interviewed them after the match, they warned everyone that KroniK was back to break necks and cash checks.
Although Page didn’t pin Bagwell, he picked up a much-needed win tonight going into his title match.

O'Haire slams the door in the King's face.

Diamond Dallas Page pinned Buff Bagwell after a powerslam in 0:11:14. Rating: ** 1/2 (Diamond Dallas Page won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.)
Card rating: ***
Match observations:
What a night, 4 out of the 5 championships changed hands tonight. With that, the CW Tag Champions are the only remaining pre-Big Bang champions and they looked unstoppable tonight. Some new teams may have to form if they are to be seriously challenged.
In other cruiserweight action, technical wizard Lance Strom showed why he is such a threat in this division by reversing Shane Helms Frankensteiner attempt into a Tiger Driver for the win.
We are still not sure what happened to Chuck Palumbo, but Sean O'Haire pulled out quite the shocker, bringing Johnny the Bull's former partner to fill in the vacancy. However, the match was not without controversy, as Nick Patrick counted the pinfall despite neither man being legal.
Even more controversial was the US title match. Booker T had Kanyon pinned in the center of the ring with the Book End, but Billy Silverman was out cold. Kanyon took advantage of the situation by wrapping up Booker T just in time for Silverman to count the one two three.
There was no controversy in the main event, Buff Bagwell and Diamond Dallas Page had a wild brawl outside of the ring, it almost looked like we might have had a disappointing Double Count out, but the 2 brought it back in the ring where moments later, Page pinned Bagwell to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

Interview: Buff addresses the crowd after his win
"Get fat boy outta the ring. He ain't got the look, he's a disgrace, he shouldn't be allowed to compete with the best in the world. Now that that is out of the way, Page don't think one night is all it takes to be the face of the company, ADONIS is coming to get its belts back. Now, some people say that Buff is selfish, that he is just using the rest of ADONIS, well that ain't true. You see, my boy Reno got the W last night, so I am going give him first crack at you Page. Next week bring your A game and your belt to the main event."
""Now about our Tag Team belts, how is it that the idiots in the front office not only let Sean O'Haire switch partners at the last minute. but they assign a referee that can't keep track of who the legal men are. Now you can bet that you will be hearing from my lawyer WCW."

Match observations:
Billy Kidman earned himself a title shot against Lance storm with his quick win tonight.
As much as I hate to admit it, Buff Bagwell does have a point about last night's Tag Team Title Match. The WCW executive committee just might grant ADONIS their rematch.
Join us next week as DDP makes his first title defense against Reno, Johnny the Bull faces his former tag team partner Big Vito in singles competition, and Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo defend their titles against Yung Dragons.

Shane helms looks to rebound quickly from his loss at the Great American Bash and climb back up the cruiserweight ranks.
Sean O'Haire's partners seemed to be cursed, first Chuck Palumbo disappears, then Big Vito injures himself in his first singles match. The championship committee will have to make a decision regarding the Tag Team Titles.
Page proved he is more than a one move wrestler. He had Reno's Snake Eyes maneuver well scouted, so he was able to escape and roll up Reno for the win.

Match observations:
If you are wondering why Bryan Clark is wrestling in singles competition, there was a backstage incident with his partner; Brian Adams is no longer employed by World Championship Wrestling.
The hottest free agent tag team, America’s Most Wanted, just signed with WCW. More on them later.
Wow, Kidman busted out his old finisher, the Shooting Star Press, and took everyone by surprise, his opponent most of all. Lance Storm may be getting another championship opportunity sooner than he thinks, more on that later.
The WCW Executive Committee has decided to vacate the World Tag Team Championships. Starting next week, there will be a six team round robin tournament on Nitro. The top two scoring teams will go on to face each other for the titles at our next PPV, Fall Brawl.
The teams participating are: Team Canada Air Raid America’s Most Wanted Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo Sean Stasiak and Johnny the Bull Jamie Noble and Chavo Guerro Jr
Also next week, Booker T gets his rematch for the US title.

Match observations:
After the first day of the WCW Title Tournament we have 2 cruiserweight teams in the front running. Skipper and Romeo's win wasn't a shock, but to see the former champions loose to Guerrero and Noble was quite a shock. Top that off with 2 of the favorites drawing in the opening round and we have the makings of quite an interesting tournament.
It doesn't look like Kanyon had any intention of giving Booker T a fair rematch. The Wall blatantly attacked Booker T as soon as the action moved to outside the ring.
