The brief start of this AEW discussion started: tnm316.proboards.com/thread/1366/favorite-wrestler-character-pushSo I thought I would continue it here I've always been a big fan of Lucha wrestling. I liked the costume Penta had this past Dynamite it was certainly Joker inspired. As for the tag teams, I always had trouble caring about tag team wrestling and forming my own tag teams in my circuit. I think it's because the idea of tag teams may get old because each tag team has the same song and dance if you will .. They kick ass then after a number of years they split the team then after a number of years from that they put the team back together.. After all lets face it wrestling has done that with: Dudley Boyz, Hardys, Rockers and Harlem Heat just to name a few. Sadly I have to agree with you in terms of Young Bucks, I also see them holding the gold for a while. I can't even say I hope to see "X" team in AEW because WWE seems to be hogging many of the developed teams in a sense.. For example Hardy Boys.. well we know Matt is with AEW but Jeff is still WWE Dudley Boyz - Bubba is floating around the independents last seen in ROH, D-Von retired and now helping out backstage with WWE I don't want to say that tag teams don't exist in the independents cause they do I think Impact is kinda tied up the tag titles they have since they are held by Violent By Design which unless you have another faction it's hard for a team of two to take the gold from the faction Quickly surfed to a few wrestling promotions (okay fine I did two.. Impact and ROH) and it's tough to say if ROH is actually creating tag teams or not since I've been away from wrestling for so long.. It's becoming a pain to get back into it as I don't have the channels so I have to get creative in order to watch things and with slow internet creative is painful Back to the discussion, AEW does have tag teams but they have to do something with them as looking at the rankings the #1 seeded team is 12-4 sadly I think it's just the young bucks wanting to not put the titles up. Since with them being management nobody is really going to argue.

It's funny, because when AEW debuted their tag division was supposed to be great, but it seems like all the great teams they brought in get lost in the shuffle. They gave a long reign to a team of two singles wrestlers (Omega and Page), and now the Bucks are monopolizing things, with only FTR getting a quickie reign in between. I'm not just talking about the Lucha Bros, but also Santana & Ortiz, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson, Jurassic Express, Best Friends and others that just drift around not doing much. Instead, the top ranked team is two bland blonde dudes who got thrown together a few months ago, who get put over the cooler and more interesting teams that also formed recently like Chaos Project and the Wingmen. People get on AEW for how they've mishandled their women's division, but I'm beginning to think that their tag division is being handled nearly as poorly. It's a good thing the actual matches are so entertaining for the most part and they've got so many people who rock the mic, because the booking still leaves a good deal to be desired.

So far while watching AEW I've enjoyed AEW Dark.. Sure it shows the talent they have taking on complete nobodies but sometimes it's interesting to see the nobodies getting completely owned.
As for the tag division, they do have talent in that section it's just being mismanaged as the three shows I've seen and the very few tag team wrestling I seen in AEW it does show they have talent but it's a matter of putting those belts up for grabs more and not just saving them for the PPV's
The womens division I haven't seen much as I said just a few episodes in, a few I find rather interesting I like Abadon the darker gimmick is interesting, I've only seen her in one match so I can't really judge her in ring ability at this time. I don't care for AEW's Womens Champion something about her I just dislike I haven't put my finger on it yet... As for the women in AEW would someone please turn of Vickie Guerreros mic for fuck sakes her voice cuts through everything someone needs to put a muzzle on that thing.

I also enjoy Dark the most out of all the AEW weekly shows. I think Excalibur and Taz have great chemistry as announcers, and I like the feeling it has of some of the old weekend shows WWF put on in the 80s where they gave all the main roster chances to show what they could do.
As far as the women's division goes, Abadon's OK. Her gimmick is cool, but she does have some learning to do in the ring. I did like the new finisher she used on last night's show -- much better than the one she was using before. As for not liking the champ, I assume you mean the new champ Britt Baker DMD? She's probably the best heel they've got in the division, and definitely the best on the mic IMO, but it may have been too soon to put her over Shida. The problem is that I'm not sure who else I'd have put the belt on at this point. I wish Thunder Rosa was under contract, because I'd have preferred to see her become champ. I also like Big Swole and Tay Conti quite a bit, but she needs to be built up more. Mostly, though, I wish they'd been able to hang onto Ryo Mizunami, because I absolutely loved her style.
And OH MY GOD YES PLEASE SHUT UP VICKIE GUERRERO! My wife and I used to really like Nyla Rose, but now when she comes out we have to turn off the show until Vickie is off screen.

As I said I'm just new at getting back into watching wrestling. Yes I do mean Britt Baker DMD I dislike her, I haven't exactly found out why I dislike her but something about her I dislike. As for Abadon I decided to look her up as I was curious about her and not much info is given but I found pics of her in and out of character and I gotta say if they ever wanted to turn her face by washing off that make up and changing her gear it would work.. She truly does have the look that can go either way.
According to AEW Rankings Thunder Rosa must be under contract since she's the top female under Britt Baker DMD
See I have an issue with Nyla Rose, I already know I'm going to get hated/dumped on for this but I'm going to air my issue since I don't know how to word this I'm sure someone will find it insensitive I thought this at first and it's been recently proven.. So she's billed as the first trans wrestler to win a title... That's my problem is the whole trans thing yes I know someone will lose it over me saying it like that. I don't know if I would call it an even playing field. But I get why AEW is pushing it especially in this day and age. I don't know how else to explain it other than just summing it up like that...
Okay lets try another way... This year in the olympics as they say "history will be made" as they will have the first trans weightlifter as the weightlifter transitioned when she was 35 and she's now 43, doing research on this weightlifter they have said that she has to lower her testosterones to a female level and have it at that level for 30 days prior to her event. Many weightlifters have came out and said it's unfair as she will pose a distinct advantage over everyone else as I'm sure factors exist that I don't know about. But I don't think she should compete with the women... It's kinda like Chyna competing with the women in WWE, yes I know Chyna isn't trans but you get the idea as she's easily much bigger than everyone else so she would compete against the men.. Even though she held the womens title once, she also held the IC title twice.. I don't know if that helps to explain my point without really crossing that line of "offensive"

I don't sit down and watch AEW full programs even though they run on TSN here, but I do watch some matches and highlights.
Proud of Kenny Omega from my hometown Winnipeg, but I saw him a couple times when he was really young wrestle in the bars and didn't think much of him LOL. I jobbed him out pretty good in my fed.
Darby Allin is pretty fascinating to watch, as are Luchasaurus, Orange Cassidy. But I dont watch enough to follow angles. But the women side is hopping with Jade Cargill, Serena Deeb, Tay Conti.
It seems to me that AEW brings in veterans to help push the youngsters up instead of hold them down.

Thunder Rosa isn't under contract, as she still has a contract with NWA, as does Serena Deeb. I believe that's why she hasn't gotten a run with the belt. About Nyla Rose, I can't get worked up over a scripted competition . As for transgender people competing in other sports, if the ruling body of that sport allows it I'm not going to argue, because I don't know enough about the medical science involved. Besides, if the other competitors don't care, why should I? Still, I'm not going to come down on you for what you said, since I do understand your points. I've gone back and forth on Omega over the past couple years. I started off not seeing what was so special, then watched more of his matches and was hooked. Now, though, I'm kind of tired of him as champ, but like the Bucks it looks like he's locked in for a while yet. On the other hand, I'm sorry but I have absolutely no freakin' clue what people see in Jade Cargill. Maybe it's (at least partially) the fact that all the announcers are fawning over her, but I really have no interest in watching her or listening to her. By the way, if you want more insight into what's going on in AEW, I recommend checking out their section on Cageside Seats. Lots of good stuff there.

jacklarkin - TSN shows AEW ? I honestly didn't think anyone did up here.. Not that I get TSN but it's good to know. dewelar - According to Thunder Rosa's wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunder_Rosa#All_Elite_Wrestling_(2020%E2%80%93present)) as well as the current rankings on the AEW site Thunder Rosa works for the company Not really going to say anything more about Nyla Rose, I'm sure many things go on behind the scenes that we are unaware of to perhaps make it equal I don't know and you don't know. I also have no comments on Omega I haven't seen him wrestle yet, but I hope he looses the Impact Championship, not that I'm a big fan of Moose but it's almost like Omega does a hit and run ordeal with the Good Brothers in which I can see them having an influence on the upcoming PPV. I also agree about Jade Cargill But watching the latest AEW and Impact it's given me a few ideas for people to sign in my circuit to build the female division. Not saying they are high ranked but it's more so the gimmicks that I like

Just because a wrestler works for a company doesn't mean they have a contract with that company. Both Rosa and Serena Deeb work for AEW despite being contracted to NWA, and I believe there are others.

It seems to me that AEW brings in veterans to help push the youngsters up instead of hold them down. Agreed, Christian comes in and instead of winning the battle royal for a title shot, loses to Jungle Boy so he gets the title shot.
