Between Matt Striker and Mike Tenay, who is more annoying as far as bringing up the most trivial of facts? I say Striker has the edge, although Tenay has been known to put people to sleep.

...I can't really say - I haven't really watched any WWE programming in a long time, I don't think I've even heard Matt Striker commentate...

I tend to find it entertaining when both guys do that.
Heck, I wish Tenay would do it more. He was GREAT in WCW as the "fact guy"...he loses something as the play by play lead.

I don't think either are actually annoying.
I personally prefer Striker, to be honest. Not just vs Tenay, but compared to most announcers on TNA/WWE at this point.
The reason being is that 1) I like the facts. It makes it seem more like a sportscast to me. 2) (Contradiction alert) I like the fact that he's heelish. I miss the days of Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon going back and forth. 3) His little references that he tosses in (Referring to Tommy Dreamer as the Man in the Box, for example) that oldschool wrestling fans will catch, but aren't overly obvious. Sometimes it's just a culture reference, but still...
I also loved his commentary on Raw during the Draft when it was more than obvious that Lawler and Cole were legitimately annoyed with him, and he busted out a Razor Ramon imitation after Lawler asked "What are you doing? Still trying to be the bad guy?". It even made Lawler crack up on mic.
I do like Tenay, but he's just not Lead Announcer to me. Maybe I'm still stuck thinking of him as the second (third?) guy on Nitro, but he just doesn't seem like a JR or Gordon Solie or Gorilla Monsoon, or even Vince McMahon. (And no, I don't think Striker is lead announcer material... Not yet anyway. I'd LOVE to have had Styles and Striker covering a show)

Now why Joey Styles is not on any announce team is beyond me. Here is a guy who did a ppv by himself and made it work, yet he is not on TV. The shame of it all!

Simple: He's a Play by Play commentator, not a Story Teller.
Well... That and he's the head of WWE.com....

I've never heard Striker on commentary, but I enjoyed Tenay's facts back in WCW.

Although Michael Cole and Josh Matthews are amusing on NXT.

And that's the reaction he's trying to get from the average internet fan.

And that's the reaction he's trying to get from the average internet fan. But I had never even seen Bryan Danielson before NXT. And it had nothing to do with him not liking "the youngsters"...it was just him being annoying for the sake of being annoying. It was like X-Pac heat.

Tenay was much better when he had Scott Hudson on lead PbP and he was on color as Hudson was more of an old school Solie style announcer and would do a fine job at it when he was allowed to and not follow what the production truck would be telling him what to do.
As for Striker, he's a guy that's trying to be a lot like the old school NWA morning show co-hosts Jim Cornette and Paul E Dangerously as well as guys like Hennan... too bad they can't find a lead color guy that plays off Striker better, as he really needs his own Gorilla Monsoon.

I do like Todd Grisham, however he just seems so... Nervous. Almost like a deer in headlights at times. Same with Josh Mathews, really. It's like they're still shocked to be Play by Play guys on WWE TV. Then again, it took Cole how long before he looked comfortable calling matches?
Striker would have done well with JR.
Or, as I said earlier: Styles and Striker.

Striker would have done well with JR. I had the same thought. I think Striker and JR would have worked well together.

I finaly figured out who Striker reminds me of on mic: Paul E. Dangerously (Classic style, not Bookerman-Heyman), just not nearly as hyper.
I miss the Psycho Yuppy V_V

At least they don't call every move that's not a finisher "that move" like Michael Cole does.
"Ohhhhh, I think Batista just took down Randy Orton with that move"

Michael Cole and Tony Schiavone would make a fun announce team. "Oh whattamanuever" "Yes, he hit him with that move!"
