I was about to ask how old you were to refer to wrestling "back in your day" but then I saw your profile lists you as 47. I think that easily makes you the oldest person I know of to be a TNMer. Most of us grew up on the Monday Night Wars.

I grew up on Bill Watts' Mid-South/UWF, myself.

My first memories was Birmingham, Alabama and Boutwell Auditorium on Monday nights. I think that Nick Gulas's promotion was a part of the old AWA, when Verne Gagne was champion. The local promoter was a man named Roy Epstien who owned Epstien Jewelers. My father, before he got into law enforcement, drove a taxi, and had to pick up some of the wrestlers from the airport. I remember a match where Dr. Ken Ramey, who was the manager for the Interns, fought against "Gentleman" Saul Weingeroff, who was the manager of the Spoilers. Dr. Ken came out dressed in a green outfit and mask, and called himself The Green Hornet (which was a popular show in the 60s). That match was a hoot.
