PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 5.1.1
When the lights come up for the opening match, once more Romero Contreras is in the ring...staring down Skip Sheffield! Sheffield looks fired up and ready to go, while Romero looks noticeably nervous for the first time!
Romero's biggest saving grace against the powerhouse Sheffield is that he's simply too big to properly get in the Over The Shoulder Boulder Holder...and cutting off the finisher gave Romero the extra leverage he needed to drop Sheffield with the Kool-Aid Krunch!
Romero Contreras pinned Skip Sheffield with the Kool-Aid Krunch in 0:08:27. Rating: ** 3/4
The crowd was HOT for the opener between the two big men!
Zack Ryder was up next, to continue his issue with the "One Man Rock Band" Heath Slater! Heath stormed the ring and was all over Ryder from the opener! Something about Ryder is just getting under the skin of Slater and it showed...first from the ferocity of his attacks, and then from the mistakes he kept making while trying to unleash his aggressions! In the end, those mistakes were too much, and Ryder caught Slater with the Zack Attack for the win!
Zack Ryder pinned Heath Slater with the Zack Attack in 0:08:35. Rating: *** 1/4
Ryder laughed at Slater post-match, and told him that as long as Slater kept showing up, Ryder would keep beating him!
William Regal came to the ring with Michael Tarver and demanded a rematch with the "bloody Junk Yard Dog"! Regal said everyone in the building knew JYD was dead to rights last week, and he wanted to finish the job this week! Kitty told him no, that Junk Yard Dog would NOT be defending the title tonight, but Regal cut her off! He said he knew that was coming...so that's why tonight, he is giving Michael Tarver the task of knocking the Junk Yard Dog out, and softening him up...because JYD will HAVE to give Regal another shot eventually!
The Hard Liners and Buzz Sawyer came out for a six man match...when Sting was introduced first for the opposing team! As Sting stepped through the curtain, Sawyer NAILED him with his steel chain! Sawyer attacked him brutally, then fed him to Slater and Murdoch, who drove him into the ringpost! Jim Duggan and Terry Taylor hit the ring, backing them off!
The referees came out and checked on Sting, but he was bleeding badly and very much hurt. Sawyer asked Sting why he was running away, then laughed maniacally! Murdoch and Slater told Duggan and Taylor to get in the ring and fight! Duggan nearly charged the ring...but Taylor stopped him from running into a three on one! As Sawyer and the Hard Liners mocked Duggan and Taylor...Dr. Death Steve Williams came through the curtain and said he'd take Sting's spot tonight!! The crowd erupted and Slater, Murdoch and Sawyer seemed unsure about that...but they didn't have any choice as the three men hit the ring and went to war with Sawyer and the Hard Liners!
This thing was a brawl from the word go! Slater and Murdoch tried to double team Taylor, but he was always quick to make sure Duggan or Doc were nearby! Sawyer got schooled in a straight up brawl with Dr. Death...but Duggan proved to be the weak link as Sawyer, from the apron, caught him in the kidneys with his chain!! This softened him up so Murdoch could lock on an abdominal stretch and make Duggan submit!
The Hard Liners (Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater) and Buzz Sawyer defeated Steve Williams, Terry Taylor and Jim Duggan when Murdoch made Duggan submit to an abdominal stretch in 0:12:54. Rating: ** 1/4
Skandar Akbar, Friday and Kamala came to the ring...to face Perry Saturn once more!
Saturn seemed refocused after his loss in the No Holds Barred match...but Kamala went nuts, even attacking the referee!
Perry Saturn defeated Kamala by disqualification in 0:03:07. Rating: -* 1/4
Right after nailing the referee, Kamala turned around into a wicked superkick by Saturn! The big man dropped!
Saturn, Dr. Death, Junk Yard Dog, Jim Duggan, Terry Taylor, Sean Morely, Heath Slater, Romero Contreras and The Greatest American Bolo were all present for intermission. As it wound down, Kitty announced that Sting had demanded a match with Buzz Sawyer next week, and it had been granted!
The Greatest American Bolo came to the ring in a referee's shirt...and "All Action" Anthony Jackson followed! Jackson asked Bolo for his kendo stick, but Bolo shook his head and turned his back! Sean Morely hit the ring next, ready to roll!
Jackson went right to work on Morley, but Bolo was quick to get in the middle of any funny business. Morley powered Jackson down and hit the Big Splash, but got ticked at Bolo when he felt like the count was too slow! Morley was getting visibly frustrated and perhaps focused too much on his masked referee and not enough on his opponent...allowing Jackson to hit a huge spear and then the Vanilla Drop for the pin!
Match with Special Referee The Greatest American Bolo: Anthony Jackson pinned Sean Morley with the Vanilla Drop in 0:07:43. Rating: ** 3/4
Bolo did raise Jackson's hand...but when Jackson then tried to raise Bolo's hand, Bolo yanked his arm down and walked away!
Michael Tarver was out for the main event, squaring off with the PWI Heavyweight Champion! This was far from a technical exhibition, with Tarver unloading with some brutal punches to JYD...but JYD knows how to take a punch! He fired back himself, rocking Tarver with huge headbutts...and the brawl spilled to the floor, where Junk Yard Dog overwhelmed Tarver and left him laying! Tarver couldn't even get back into the ring, so JYD had to roll back in and take the countout win!
Junk Yard Dog defeated Michael Tarver by countout in 0:05:41. Rating: -3/4*
As Junk Yard Dog celebrated, William Regal stood in the entryway, giving a polite clap!
Card rating: 3/4*

3.1.1: - I'm liking this Contreras guy. A guy that wants matches to be shorter but can go the distance. Interesting. - Poor Bolo. Is it wrong that Bolo sounds like a brand of dog food? - I like the fact that Regal is going after JYD. The thought of a match between the two, not so much. - Kamala!!! Good decision to add him to the roster. You can't go wrong with Air Kamala. I'm still trying to get into the fed, but you are doing a good job so far. I'm thinking the first supercard will help me with that. Bolo IS a dog food...but it's also a tie, a tank, slang for both a drunk and a Bolsheviek...it's a ton of crazy things...=P

- Okay, Anthony Jackson's promo finally made me a fan. I was cracking up, especially the fact he threw Junkyard Dog in there out of nowhere. Great stuff. - Are you booking this circuit? Cause that was a weird way to job out Taylor and Duggan. - I've never seen a circuit take the house show report style. It's interesting. - Sting teaming with Duggan and Taylor against the Hardliners and Sawyer is money. - I like the reference to Regal's TV Title reign. Anyways, every card my interest grows so good job on that. Looking forward to the next card. I am booking it, but a lot of times I just tell TNM who wins, not how or when. So Duggan and Taylor getting killed like that was surprising. Especially when it lets half the roster go 10 minutes against Romero. Romero hates going 10 minutes in real life...=)

I was a huge WWF fan, but really have never got that in to modern WWE. But watching TNA and the WWE, I agree with Tommy that WWE is 1000x better. As for why I took on a retro WCW circuit, it was where I really picked up watching wrestling every week. And I loved '92-'94, but I thought it would be odd trying a WWF '93 fed when there was already a great one out there. BTW, Tommy, stop writing cards so fast. It's hard to reply that quickly. Which is probably why I watch CHIKARA

PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 6.1.1
When the lights come up, it's Romero Contreras staring down "Wildcat" Chris Harris! Harris charges, but Romero fends him off! Harris likes to be fighting much smaller guys than this, and Romero is fine with anything! He puts Harris away after choking him out!
Romero Contreras pinned Chris Harris after a choke lift in 0:03:18. Rating: ** 3/4
Romero gives out a "WHOO!" or two just for fun!
Zack Ryder is out next, aggravating the crowd as he makes his way to the ring! Sean Morley, looking cheesed, heads out with tag partner Heath Slater by his side. Ryder mocks Slater as he heads to the ring, telling Slater that he's just a wannabe who will NEVER be as cool as he is!
Ryder and Morley went back and forth, with Ryder mocking Slater every time he got the upper hand. Morley got fired up, but as he went for a back suplex, Ryder twisted in the air and pinned him with a cross body block!
Zack Ryder pinned Sean Morley after a cross-body block in 0:03:08. Rating: ***
Ryder rolled out of the ring laughing, calling Slater and Morley both losers!
Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield came out next, doing battle with Jim Duggan and Terry Taylor! Duggan was willing to stand toe to toe with either man, and both teams spend a lot of time training together so this one was tight.
In the end, it was Sheffield hitting the Over The Shoulder Boulder Holder on Duggan, putting him out!
Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield defeated Jim Duggan and Terry Taylor when Sheffield pinned Duggan with the Over the Shoulder Boulder Holder in 0:07:15. Rating: * 1/2
The Hard Liners hit the ring, and went after Taylor! Duggan recovered and went after them on the floor...when they turned on him and Murdoch managed to get him up and spike him on the concrete with the Gourdbuster! He did it again!! Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase hit the ring, but the damage was done! A bloody Duggan had to be carried out! Murdoch told Doc and DiBiase that this was just a preview of what awaited them tonight!
"Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer was up next...waiting for the man they call Sting! Sting was seeking revenge for the pearl harbor on him from last week, and he was eager to get it against Sawyer! They fought in and out of the ring, and Sawyer seemed surprised that Sting could keep up with him in a straight up fight! Sting locked on the Scorpion Deathlock...and Sawyer tried to fight it! He held on until he passed out! Sting stood tall!
Sting made Buzz Sawyer submit to the Scorpion Deathlock in 0:06:00. Rating: ****
Sting stayed out at ringside for intermission, joined by Romero, Steve Williams, Ted DiBiase, Heath Slater, The Greatest American Bolo and Sean Morley. The fans kept asking Doc and DiBiase to get revenge for Duggan tonight! As intermission wound down, Buzz Sawyer stormed out and screamed at Sting that he never gave up, and he WOULD never give up! The referees got between them, but Sawyer said this was far, FAR from finished!
William Regal came to the ring, and got the mic! He said that Junk Yard Dog proved nothing with his victory over Michael Tarver last week, and that he is still clearly the only man in the company deserving of a title match!
The Greatest American Bolo was out next, here to take on Regal! Bolo is a brawler, while Regal can fight or wrestle, and he schooled the masked man right here! Bolo got the crowd behind him, but that didn't help when Regal knocked his block off with the Knee Trembler, Bolo in the center of the ring, though he had a handful of tights!
William Regal pinned The Greatest American Bolo with the Knee Trembler in 0:07:48. Rating: * 3/4
Regal demanded a rematch with the Junk Yard Dog, then began pounding Bolo! The crowd chanted "J-Y-D", but it was Sting that hit the ring! Regal thought better of it as Sting checked on Bolo.
The Hard Liners came out to a chorus of boos...and they reveled in it! Murdoch showed off the fact that he still had Jim Duggan's blood on his hands! Dr. Death Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase, fighting on behalf of their friend, stormed the ring!
There was no wrestling involved here, just a pure street fight! The referee showed a lot of latitude for all four men...until America's Most Wanted came out!! Chris Harris yanked Ted DiBiase out of the ring, and drove him into a ringpost!
Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase defeated The Hard Liners (Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater) when DiBiase defeated Murdoch by disqualification in 0:07:35. Rating: ** 1/2 [Chris Harris interfered against Ted DiBiase.]
By the time Doc saw what was going on, James Storm was laying in wait and smashed him with a beer bottle!! The tag team champions were left laying!

Poor Bolo, Regal tearing in to him is something I'd pay to see. I like Morley, I hope you do something with him in the future. I'm still enjoying the heck out of the Hard Liners and Sawyer . Hey, are you doing a card a month or is it one a week?

Hey, are you doing a card a month or is it one a week? Once a week, definitely. Honestly, I would probably pay to wrestle Regal...=P Hard Liners and Sawyer is just a well matched combination. Dick Slater and Buzz Sawyer were partners for a while in Mid-South back in the day, which is how they wound up together. Morley was a guy that just got kinda tossed on the roster, but an interesting opportunity for him kinda fell into my lap...

PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 7.1.1
The show opened with Romero Contreras and "Dirty" Dick Slater in the ring! However, before the match could even get started, a bandaged up Jim Duggan hit the ring with a 2x4 and smashed Slater! The crowd went nuts as Duggan just beat Slater silly!!
Romero pulled Duggan back, and Duggan seemed really woozy...he's clearly not fully healed, and that may have overdone it. Duggan made his way to the back, as the referee helped Slater from the ring!
Romero tossed a few "WHOOs" at the crowd to get them fired up...and backed into Kamala, who was making his way out for his match!
Romero and Kamala had a staredown, until Romero rared back to take a shot! Kamala flinched...then moved forward! Akbar told Friday to control Kamala, then told Romero that if he didn't watch it, Kamala would end him!
As Romero left, Perry Saturn came to the ring to a good reception! Two weeks earlier, these two faced off and the referee caught the worst of it...so Saturn and Kamala were here to settle the issue!
They brawled away, but Saturn used his superior speed to keep Kamala off balance! Friday and Akbar kept interfering...so Romero came back to the ring!! He chased Akbar around the ring, distracting Kamala, who took a swipe through the ropes at Romero!
Even with Romero at ringside, Akbar managed to trip up Saturn, and Kamala blasted him with a thrust kick! He went for Air Africa...but Romero BLASTED him with a steel chair!!
Kamala defeated Perry Saturn by disqualification in 0:06:33. Rating: * [Romero Contreras interfered against Kamala.] [Friday and General Skandar Akbar interfered against Perry Saturn.]
Romero ditched the chair and WHOOed again as Kamala slumped to the mat!
In the next bought, "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch made his way to the ring! His partner had already sustained a beating, but he showed up just the same...to face Jim Duggan!
Duggan was on fire, but his health was clearly in question as he lost balance early on! Duggan staggered and Murdoch took over! He blasted ol' Hacksaw with the Gourdbuster and scored the pin!
Dick Murdoch pinned Jim Duggan with the Gourdbuster in 0:02:31. Rating: 1/2*
After the match, he threw Duggan to the floor...and hit the Gourdbuster! And again! He managed to drop Duggan a third time before the referees got ahold of him! The referees had to hold the faces back at the entrance so Duggan could be loaded onto a stretcher!
Murdoch laughed at the damage that he had done!
Anthony Jackson came out next, and revealed that he was SUPPOSED to take on The Red Rooster tonight, but that couldn't happen because he had apparently left the arena with Jim Dummy after Dick Murdoch or Dick Slater or Dick Cheney or whoever it was dropped Jim Dummy on his head so hard it straightened his eyeballs out. So Jackson said that he was just gonna sit here all night and tell us stories!
He started talking about one night when he got a phone book, a midget and a barbell...when Sean Morley hit the ring!
Morley said that he didn't know if he trusted Bolo as a referee or not, but he wanted another crack at Jackson, right here tonight! Jackson said he would think about...then kicked Morley between the legs!
The referee rang the bell as Jackson pummeled Sean Morley! Morley fought back up and rocked Anthony Jackson with some high impact moves...but got knees when he went for the Big Splash! Jackson speared Morley and hit the Vanilla Drop, but Morley kicked out!
Later on, Jackson hit a scoop slam and stuck both feet on the ropes...and Morley couldn't get free! Jackson stole the pin!
Anthony Jackson pinned Sean Morley after a bodyslam in 0:10:18. Rating: ** (Terry Taylor no-showed.)
Jackson danced around the ring in celebration!
The mood shifted when William Regal came to the ring with Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield! The fans do not like these guys one bit! Regal gave his men some advice...as Sting, The Greatest American Bolo and The Junk Yard Dog hit the ring!
Regal initially refused to get into the ring with JYD, making him do battle with Sheffield first! In fact, it was only when Michael Tarver took Bolo down did Regal tag in! At one point, the fans were stunned when a hyper Bolo laid into the MUCH larger Skip Sheffield, refusing to let up until he had been beaten down in the corner! "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer walked to the ring with his chains dangling from his neck, but Sting told JYD to ignore him!
Later on, as Sting and Tarver were fighting on the floor, Sawyer tried to get involved and Sting nailed him! As they fought back into the ring, Sting locked on the Scorpion Death Lock...when Sawyer stormed the ring and attacked!
Sting, The Greatest American Bolo and Junk Yard Dog defeated Michael Tarver, Skip Sheffield and William Regal when Sting defeated Tarver by disqualification in 0:17:39. Rating: 3/4* [Buzz Sawyer interfered against Sting.]
Sawyer beat the crap out of Sting, while Regal, Tarver and Sheffield worked over JYD and Bolo!
Intermission wasn't a big affair, with Duggan and Taylor gone, Sting, JYD and Bolo beaten down and Morley still in a very bad mood.
However, Kitty did announce that next week, Kamala would challenge The Junk Yard Dog for the PWI Heavyweight Title...while William Regal would face Sting in a #1 Contender's Match!
Come the semi main event, Heath Slater hit the ring to finally get some retribution on Zack Ryder, who has been in this guy's head for weeks now.
Every time Slater would come close to pulling it off, Ryder would counter back! Soon, Ryder took over and blasted Slater with the Zack Attack, pinning him once more!
Zack Ryder pinned Heath Slater with the Zack Attack in 0:08:39. Rating: ** 1/2
Ryder fell over laughing at Slater, after thwarting him yet AGAIN! Slater was LIVID.
America's Most Wanted came to the ring, very cocky after their attack on the Tag Team Champions last week. As Harris and Storm stood on the corners celebrating...Ted DiBiase and Steve Williams stormed the ring!! They DESTROYED Harris and Storm while the referee was stunned! AMW didn't even get their coats off when DiBiase hammered Harris to the floor, the bell rang and Doc BLASTED Storm with a huge suplex!
Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase defeated America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) when S. Williams pinned J. Storm after a waistlock suplex in 0:00:27. Rating: * (Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase retained the PWI Tag Team Titles.)
DiBiase stood over Storm with an evil glare and yelled "Sorry about your damn luck!"
Doc and DiBiase celebrated while the audience cheered them on!
Card rating: * 1/2

PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 8.1.1
The show opens with that Romero Contreras-Dick Slater match that we DIDN'T get last week thanks to Jim Duggan's temper!
Slater held his own in the ring against Romero, but Contreras again used his size advantage to his favor! As Romero went for the Kool-Aid Krunch...KAMALA made his way out of the back, with Skandar Akbar and Friday! Romero dumped Slater and started jawing at Kamala, which nearly cost him on a shanghai assault!
Kamala tried to enter the ring, but Romero threw Slater into Kamala, then caught the stunned Slater with a huge powerbomb for the pin!
Romero Contreras pinned Dick Slater after a powerbomb in 0:14:27. Rating: ** 1/4 [Kamala interfered against Romero Contreras.]
Slater rolled out of the ring, and Kamala tried to get in to go after Romero, but Akbar and Friday pulled him off!
All-Action Anthony Jackson made his way to the ring, getting booed heavily by the fans! Jackson entered the ring and told the fans that he didn't come here to fight. He found out that he was schedule to face The Greatest Bolo, and he told Bolo to come to the ring right now!
The Greatest American Bolo and Sensei Bolo came to the ring, seeming perhaps a bit uncertain about Jackson. Jackson asked GAB if he remembered all the good times they had, like making fun of Rico, that time they showed up in dresses, and yeah, when Bolo let Jackson pin him in a Fatal Four-Way...and all 538 times they beat up Romero Contreras!
Jackson told GAB that they should reunite, right here tonight! The crowd booed and Sensei kept shaking his head "NO", but Jackson said that "Sushi Bolo" could come along too, no problem!
GAB looked at Sensei, and slapped Jackson! The crowd popped, but Jackson NAILED GAB with a huge knee to the gut, getting this match started!
Jackson dominated GAB at the onset, while Sensei kept trying to rally the crowd behind him! Bolo did blast the eyes of Jackson and that gave him the upper hand for a bit...but when he made the mistake of letting up, Jackson nailed him with the spear! Jackson landed the Vanilla Drop and but GAB away!
Anthony Jackson pinned The Greatest American Bolo with the Vanilla Drop in 0:02:51. Rating: * 3/4
After the match, Jackson helped GAB up! He told GAB there were no hard feelings...and that they should still team up! In fact, Jackson said, he's going to get them a tag team match set up for next week!
America's Most Wanted, fresh off of their humiliating mugging at the hands of Dr. Death and Ted DiBiase, came to the ring! They were followed by Skip Sheffield and Michael Tarver! Heath Slater and Sean Morley were out next, followed by Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase in this non-title match!
AMW shied away from Doc and DiBiase, but Sheffield was eager to lock up with Doctor Death. The two hosses collided, with neither one maintaining the upper hand! Slater made a blind tag in on Doc, and took over on Sheffield! Harris and Storm were much more eager to get involved there, but through a series of tags, it wound up being DiBiase and Sheffield in the ring, and DiBiase caught Sheffield with a back elbow that knocked him loopy enough for a pin!
Four Corners Match: Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase defeated America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris), Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield and Heath Slater and Sean Morley when DiBiase defeated Sheffield via pinfall in 0:05:38. Rating: ** 1/4
Doc and DiBiase stood tall over three PWI teams!
Kamala came to the ring with General Skandar Akbar and Friday! Junk Yard Dog made his way out to defend the gold!
Akbar got involved early on, and Friday joined in...but Romero Contreras was quick to come out! He was here to even the odds, even distracting the referee after Akbar blasted JYD in the throat with his riding crop and Kamala tried to pin him!
JYD managed to fight back now that the odds were even...and he crushed Kamala with the Thump!
Junk Yard Dog pinned Kamala with the Thump Powerslam in 0:13:52. Rating: -** 3/4 (Junk Yard Dog retained the PWI Heavyweight Title.) [Romero Contreras interfered against Kamala.] [General Skandar Akbar and Friday interfered against Junk Yard Dog.]
JYD and Romero celebrated post match! Sting, Doc and DiBiase, Morley and Heath Slater joined them at intermission, where it was announced that next week, Doc and DiBiase would be facing The Hard Liners in a non-title match!
Back from intermission, "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch made his way out! He seemed awful confident, given the absence of Jim Duggan. His opponent...for the first time in PWI..."Gentleman" Chris Adams!! Adams got a nice reception as he took to the ring to face off with Murdoch!
Adams was on fire and Murdoch seemed to be off his game! Whenever Murdoch would start to brawl, Adams would toss in a little judo!
Dick Slater made his way out to get involved...but Terry Taylor came up from behind him and unloaded! In the ring, Adams hit Murdoch with a big gutwrench suplex for the win!
Chris Adams pinned Dick Murdoch after a gutwrench suplex in 0:07:41. Rating: ****
Adams and Taylor celebrated while Murdoch licked his wounds on the floor with his partner!
Time for the main event...a Number One Contender's Match!
William Regal made his way out...followed by Sting!
The two men went at it in well contested bout, Sting looking for the Scorpion and using his power to overwhelm Regal, while Regal brawled anytime Sting got in close and used his vicious offense to take the popular hero down.
Each man knew how important this match was, and when Regal blasted Sting with the Knee Trembler, it looked to be over...but Sting kicked out! Regal, incensed, tore into Sting and went for it again, but Sting swept his leg and locked on the Scorpion Death Lock!!
Regal managed to hold on and grab the ropes, forcing a break! Sting hit two Stinger Splashes, and went for a third, when Regal moved...but Sting caught the top rope before hitting the turnbuckle...and he nailed Regal with a clothesline!
"Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer came out of the back, sneaking up on the ring!
Sensing victory, Sting went up top, but Buzz Sawyer ran up...so Sting dove to the floor onto him! Sting started back into the ring, but as he was climbing through the ropes, Sawyer held onto his ankle! Regal recovered and NAILED Sting with the Knee Trembler, and knocked the man clean out! Regal made the cover and got the three!
Number-One-Contenders-Match: William Regal pinned Sting with the Knee Trembler in 0:18:52. Rating: **** [Buzz Sawyer interfered against Sting.]
Regal immediately told them to cut the music, and demanded that the Junk Yard Dog give him his rematch right here next week!!

7.1.1:
- Contreras vs Slater would have been interesting. Stupid Duggan.
- Saturn and Contreras vs Kamala and ...Akbar?
- Sheesh, the way Duggan had it tonight you'd think he was leaving PWI.
- Kicking Venis in the crotch....hurts most men, nearly kills him probably.
- Seriously? A bodyslam?
- 18 minutes and only a 3/4*? Yee-ouch.
- Now that's a squash. I guess it sent the fans home happy, but wow. That really sucks for AMW.

8.1.1: - Yay, we actually get Slater vs Contreras. - Who is going to finally beat Romero? - Ahh...I was hoping Bolo and Jackson would run rampant on the PWI and kick Contreras' ass for the 539th time! - Sweet, Bolo and Jackson will still team up. Somehow I don't think this ends well for Jackson next week. - Williams and DiBiase really need to let some wrestlers go longer than 6 minutes. - Interesting addition with Adams. - Poor Sting. He almost had it. Looking forward to JYD-Regal, but I doubt that one has a clean ending.

Yeah, Duggan gave notice after the fifth card, and I couldn't remember if TNM actually says "you have one card left" or not...which is why he got beat down twice.
Chris Adams was hired to fill in Duggan's spot (as both men teamed with Terry Taylor in Mid-South/UWF).
Also, re: the six man match going 18 minutes and not doing great. This is something so many indy workers I know don't get: Sometimes less is way, WAY more.

PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 9.1.1
The show opens with the lights coming up and Zack Ryder in the ring with Romero Contreras! The heat from the crowd was NUCLEAR! The LOVE Romero and they HATE Ryder with a passion!
Ryder hung in with Romero, nearly putting him away a couple of times, but Romero was just too big and too strong! He manhandled the smaller, arrogant man...when Kamala came to the ring with Akbar! Akbar distracted the referee as Kamala blasted Romero with a huge chop! Romero staggered...and then fumed as he left the ring and chased Kamala to the back!
The referee had no choice but to count Romero out!!
Zack Ryder defeated Romero Contreras by countout in 0:15:07. Rating: ** 3/4 [Kamala interfered against Romero Contreras.]
The crowd was furious as Romero's streak ended...but Romero was somewhere in the back, giving chase to Kamala!
America's Most Wanted, stinging from some recent embarrassments, came to the ring. Their opponents tonight? Heath Slater and Sean Morley!
Harris and Storm are a well oiled machine, and can hang with anyone not named Ted DiBiase and Steve Williams. Morley and Slater are both talented, no doubt, but not quite as fluid as AMW and Morley ate a huge elbow from Storm that allowed AMW to get the win, thanks in no small part to the handful of tights held by Storm!
America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) defeated Heath Slater and Sean Morley when J. Storm pinned S. Morley after an elbowsmash in 0:11:17. Rating: **
America's Most Wanted celebrated their much needed victory over Morley and Slater while Morley complained that he had the tights!
"Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer stalked to the ring...followed by Perry Saturn!
These two men went balls to the wall right at the onset...when Sting stepped out of the back! The crowd went nuts but Sawyer didn't seem to notice...until he hit the Powerslam on Saturn! Sting unleashed a huge howl and Sawyer sat up! Sting slowly began advancing to the ring while Sawyer kept yelling for him to get in the ring...and Saturn hit a huge tiger suplex for three!
Perry Saturn pinned Buzz Sawyer after a tiger suplex in 0:04:58. Rating: **** [Sting interfered against Buzz Sawyer.]
Sawyer was FURIOUS! Sting smiled and then hit the ring! He nailed Sawyer and locked him in the Scorpion Death Lock! Sting kept yelling "You give up now?! Huh? You give?!?! C'mon!!"
Referees finally got Sting to release the hold, though it should be noted that Sawyer never did beg for mercy.
Anthony Jackson came out first for the next match, but The Greatest American Bolo was announced...and was nowhere to be found! Jackson paced the ring, not talking...when Chris Adams and Terry Taylor came to the ring.
Every time the referee started to call for the bell, Jackson cut him off and told him to wait, that "Bolo will be here". Jackson kept finding excuses to stall, demanding weapons checks from Taylor and Adams, and then even claiming to have foreign objects himself when he really didn't!
FINALLY, he told the referee to hold on, that he needed a couple of minutes to see what was up, and ran to the back. After a bit he came back and said that Bolo MUST be having car trouble or something, so he found a new partner tonight...Michael Tarver!
Jackson started off with Adams and he and Tarver looked like they might work together okay after a couple of quick tags. As the match went on, though, Jackson clearly wasn't feeling it, disappointed at the lack of Bolo, and so he left the ring area! Tarver nailed Adams with a huge shot and went for the tag, but there was no Jackson! Tarver went to the ropes and screamed at Jackson, who just blew him off and left the ring area!
Tarver stomped his feet and yelled...before turning around into a Superkick by Adams! That was all she wrote!
Chris Adams and Terry Taylor defeated Anthony Jackson and Michael Tarver when Adams pinned Tarver with the Superkick in 0:05:04. Rating: * 3/4 (The Greatest American Bolo no-showed.)
Tarver was knocked nearly unconscious by Adams, who celebrated with Taylor!
Come intermission, it was Adams, Taylor, Sting, Romero, Saturn, Slater, Morley, Junk Yard Dog, Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase! Morley was telling people that he had asked for, and received, a rematch for him and Slater against America's Most Wanted next week! Also, as intermission was ending, Kitty announced that Michael Tarver had demanded a match with Anthony Jackson next week...and it had been granted!
After intermission...Dick Slater and Dick Murdoch made their way to the ring! Their opponents, in a non-title match: the PWI Tag Team Champions Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase!
Doc and DiBiase were out for blood after the attacks on Jim Duggan! The match started as a full on donnybrook with all four men going at it! Doc and DiBiase cleaned house, though, and the proper tag match got under way!
The fans were then treated to THE finest exhibition of tag team wrestling ever seen in Pro Wrestling Immortal's young existence...two hated, hated men doing battle with two beloved stars...no strange gimmicks, just four tough as nails, hardasses beating each other senseless with everything under the sun!
In a feat that is NOT easy to do, the two teams kept the fans on the edges of their seats for over half an hour, brawling in the ring, double teaming, kicking out of finishers, you name it. Blood flowed freely from all four men...and not even the arrival of America's Most Wanted has dampened the view of this match in the eyes of most.
Chris Harris and James Storm hit the ring while Ted DiBiase and Dick Slater were fighting in the ring and Doc was battling Murdoch on the floor! DiBiase went for the Figure Four on Slater, but Chris Harris jumped up on the apron! DiBiase paused, giving Slater time to kick him off into Harris...who caught DiBiase's throat and guillotined him!!
Slater quickly took advantage...blasting DiBiase with a wicked Piledriver!! Slater covered DiBiase and The Hard Liners made a very, VERY strong case for a tag title shot!
The Hard Liners (Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater) defeated Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase when Slater pinned DiBiase with the Piledriver in 0:40:30. Rating: ***** [Chris Harris interfered against Steve Williams.]
Slater bailed out of the ring as Doc slid back in...but the damage was done! Not only did the Hard Liners take Doc and DiBiase to the limit, they pushed 'em well past the limit thanks to AMW!
Now it was time for the main event...and William Regal came to the ring! He was followed by PWI Heavyweight Champion The Junk Yard Dog!
These two had an impossible task before them, trying to follow the instant classic that preceded them. I'm not going to lie and say they lived up to the previous bout, but Regal has managed to capture the fans' imagination in the worst way and they were eager to see him take his beating!
The turning point came late in the match when they were fighting on the floor and Regal reversed a whip into the ringpost! He placed JYD against the post and hit the Knee Trembler against it! That would have been enough to end any normal man, but Junk Yard Dog fought on...but when he attempted the Thump Powerslam and collapsed to his knees, it was Regal to capitalize with a second Knee Trembler, this time in the middle of the ring! Regal hooked both legs and held on for dear life as Mike 2 counted...and awarded Regal the match and the title!!
William Regal pinned Junk Yard Dog with the Knee Trembler in 0:13:12. Rating: 3/4* (William Regal won the PWI Heavyweight Title.)
The crowd erupted into a chorus of violent boos as Regal, a very self-satisfied smile on his face, raised the PWI Heavyweight title high in the air as he stood over the Junk Yard Dog!
Card rating: ** 1/2

- Cheap way to end Romero's unbeaten streak. - So AMW aren't jobbers? - One thing I can say about this circuit, anybody can beat anybody it seems. I figured Sawyer would buzz (hehe) right through Saturn. Even with Sting's interference. - Nice way to make him look tough, however, after the match by not giving it up. - Bolo's no-show worked nicely in to the angle with Jackson and him. - 5 stars!!! WHOO!!! Nice! I, however, don't believe it was non title since it didn't have "Non-Title Match:" posted above the results. Looking forward to these two teams meeting up for the straps and hopefully the Hard Liners take the titles. - Regal takes the strap! Sweet. He does have quite a few challengers so it's probably a good thing. JYD, Sting, and the assortment of DiBiase, Williams, Taylor, and Adams. - Good card. I'm enjoying it, can't wait for it to get a few months down the road and see where everybody is at.

Despite the fact that I've given him nothing to do except fight Kamala over and over, Saturn's gotten over with the fans. - Yeah...the Bolo no-show was surprisingly awesome for the storyline. - Dude, it was non-title...=) And on the back of that match, there WILL be a title match. - Regal's victory puts us in the home stretch of the first booking cycle...all building to a head at the 13th card.

PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 10.1.1
When the show opens, Romero Contreras is in the ring...with Kamala! These two men waste no time in going after each other!! Akbar and Friday don't even have a chance to get close as Romero and Kamala go toe to toe!
The fight spills out of the ring, and never makes it back in!
Romero Contreras and Kamala battled to a double countout in 0:06:15. Rating: -3/4*
Nothing is settled as Romero and Kamala keep brawling! Kamala finally makes a break for it, and Romero chases him to the back!
America's Most Wanted are up next...facing Heath Slater and Sean Morley! AMW attacks before the match, with Storm blasting Morley with a beer bottle while the referee is trying to pull Harris and Slater apart! Storm sets Morley up...and hits an airplane toss for the win!
America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) defeated Heath Slater and Sean Morley when J. Storm pinned S. Morley after an airplane spin toss in 0:00:48. Rating: *
The crowd did not like that one bit! Storm and Harris leave the ring, happy with their cheap win!
To the surprise of the fans, Junk Yard Dog was out next...followed by William Regal! Junk Yard Dog gets his rematch...right now!
JYD had a loser focus tonight, a focus that if he'd had a week ago, he might still be champion! Regal spent more time on the defensive than anything, and even when he DID take over, JYD fought him off with minimal effort!
Regal, sensing this was not going well, bailed out of the ring, grabbed his title and took off!
Junk Yard Dog defeated William Regal by countout in 0:11:51. Rating: 1/2* (William Regal retained the PWI Heavyweight Title.)
Junk Yard Dog was furious at being robbed of his chance to regain the title!
Zack Ryder came to the ring, nearly having fans throwing garbage at him! He was pleased with himself...when Sting made his way out!
Ryder scoffed at Sting, then regretted it as Sting proved impervious to most of his offense! Ryder tried to get away, but Sting was on him swiftly, and even got him in the Scorpion on the floor!! The referee convinced Sting to break the hold, but Ryder seemed hurt!
That injury left him open to Sting locked on an abdominal stretch and making Ryder give up!
Sting made Zack Ryder submit to an abdominal stretch in 0:05:26. Rating: *** 1/2
Sting celebrated...when Buzz Sawyer attacked him! Sting fought him off and went for the Scorpion on him, but Sawyer wiggled away!
Intermission was thankfully uneventful...no challenges, no fights, so on.
Michael Tarver came to the ring for the semi-main event...and he told Anthony Jackson to come out RIGHT NOW. Jackson came to the ring, and Tarver said he was going to knock Jackson out for abandoning him last week! Jackson started to respond, when Tarver hit a cheap shot!
Tarver hammered Jackson...but Jackson fought back...until Skip Sheffield hit the ring!
Anthony Jackson defeated Michael Tarver by disqualification in 0:01:42. Rating: 3/4* [Skip Sheffield interfered against Anthony Jackson.]
Sheffield and Tarver began beating Jackson down...but The Greatest American Bolo hit the ring with his kendo stick! Tarver and Sheffield decided not to chance it with the kendo! Jackson asked for help up...but Bolo just walked away!
Main event time! "Captain Redneck" Dick Murdoch and "Mr. Unpredictable" Dick Slater vs "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and "I Don't Need A Nickname" Ted DiBiase!
This match was not the epic affair of last week, but it also remained surprisingly free of outside interference as well! At one point, DiBiase went for the loaded glove, but underestimated the referee, who caught it before he could hit Murdoch with it!
That may have actually been enough to throw the champs off of their game, but they sure seemed to recover...until Slater hit Steve Williams with a sunset flip and managed to hold him for the three count!!
The Hard Liners (Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater) defeated Steve Williams and Ted DiBiase when Slater pinned S. Williams after a sunset flip in 0:15:42. Rating: ** 1/2 (The Hard Liners won the PWI Tag Team Titles.)
Murdoch and Slater did it! They won the PWI Tag Team Titles from Ted DiBiase and Steve Williams!!
Card rating: * 3/4

- Romero is hitting non-win streak. I know you didn't mean for it to be a big part of his character, but with you posting cards so fast it was hard to not notice that he was winning every match. - Well, since the match was short I liked the fact you used the beer bottle. I am not a huge fan of anybody getting pinned in under a minute unless there is some type of foreign object or interference. - JYD was apparently a little hungover for his last match with Regal. Total whipping of Regal here. I'm guessing that headlines your supercard. Should be interesting to see where you go from there, but I think Regal retaining is probably a good idea. - Abdominal stretch? Really? Poor Ryder. - I'm really digging the Bolo-Jackson stuff. I don't know where it will lead, but it's by far my favorite angle you have going. Which is surprising since I really didn't like either character up until a couple of weeks ago. - Hard Liners take the gold! Yes! - Champions don't last long here, do they? Can't wait to see what type of card you have lined up for the 13th card.

I mean, I LOVE that guy!

PRO WRESTLING IMMORTAL The Legend Begins... 11.1.1
The fans were treated to quite the shock when the show opened this night...there was no Romero Contreras! In fact, Kamala was in the ring with Johnny Swinger! Kamala rushed to attack Swinger, beating him down!
As Kamala dominated Swinger, Romero Contreras stormed the ring! Romero laid into Kamala, bringing an abrupt end to the bout!
Kamala defeated Johnny Swinger by disqualification in 0:04:23. Rating: * [Friday interfered against Johnny Swinger.] [Romero Contreras interfered against Kamala.]
Romero sent Kamala spilling through the ropes! Akbar and Friday pulled Kamala back while Swinger recovered in the ring! Swinger grabbed Romero's arm...and got caught with the Kool-Aid Krunch!
The crowd cheered for Romero, who offered a WHOO! at Kamala!
William Regal was out next for a non-title match...taking on one Perry Saturn!
Saturn and Regal locked horns in a very nice little bout...Saturn needing a win here in order to be considered for serious contention for the Heavyweight title! Regal was fully aware of that, but Regal is arguably at the top of his game...and he lulled Saturn into a wicked Knee Trembler that dashed his hopes!
William Regal pinned Perry Saturn with the Knee Trembler in 0:11:49. Rating: *** 1/4
Regal celebrated as if he knew the outcome had never been in doubt.
Skip Sheffield was out next, accompanied by Michael Tarver! The massive Sheffield looked eager to maim, kill and destroy his opponent...The Greatest American Bolo. Sensei Bolo kept warning Tarver to stay back, but he was also quick to give up ground anytime he got close.
Bolo has had a surprising amount of success against Sheffield, despite the size difference...and that held true tonight! Something about the vicious little Bolo seems to throw Sheffield off, and he spent more time on defense than it seemed like he should have!
However, Michael Tarver got involved despite the protests of Sensei, and when Sensei tried to get involved, Tarver was quick to neutralize him...this distracted the referee...and gave Bolo time to get his kendo stick! Sheffield made the mistake of taking his eyes off of Bolo...and ate a kendo between the eyes!! Bolo covered the stunned Sheffield, and that was all she wrote!
The Greatest American Bolo pinned Skip Sheffield after hitting him with a foreign object in 0:04:27. Rating: * 1/2 [Michael Tarver interfered against The Greatest American Bolo.]
Tarver stormed the ring and began beating on Bolo, even hitting his Tarver's Lightning slam! Tarver started to grab the kendo...when Anthony Jackson hit the ring and speared him! Jackson hoisted Sheffield up, and tossed him through the ropes at Tarver!
Jackson offered Bolo his hand...while Bolo stared up at him! Jackson said "C'mon, Bolo!" and offered it once more...and Bolo took his hand! Jackson helped Bolo up, slapped him on the shoulder, and left the ring!
The next bout was a battle of the dogs..."Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer vs Junk Yard Dog! Nothing pretty about this match as Sawyer and JYD laid into each other! Even though each man has much deeper issues with other wrestlers, namely Sting and William Regal, there was a clear dislike between these two. Neither man could hit his powerslam, but JYD did wind up knocking Sawyer loopy with a big headbutt, and that gave him the opening to put him away!
Junk Yard Dog pinned Buzz Sawyer after a headbutt in 0:11:30. Rating: *
JYD paid for it in sheer brutality, but he came away the winner!
At intermission, it was announced that next week The Greatest American Bolo and Anthony Jackson would team up against Michael Tarver and Skip Sheffield...Sting would face Buzz Sawyer...Chris Adams & Terry Taylor would face America's Most Wanted in a #1 Contender's Match and The Hard Liners would have to give Steve Williams & Ted DiBiase a rematch for the tag team titles!
Zack Ryder came to the ring and the crowd went crazy booing him! Sean Morley made his way out next, with Heath Slater in tow! Ryder mocked both men, asking Slater if he's ever going to give it up!
As the match began, Ryder just kept taunting and taunting Slater, until he snapped and attacked him!!
Zack Ryder defeated Sean Morley by disqualification in 0:02:27. Rating: * 3/4 [Heath Slater interfered against Zack Ryder.]
Morley, annoyed at losing the bout by DQ, pulled Slater off of Ryder...who just laughed at Morley and Slater, calling them a couple of losers!
Main event time! The Hard Liners in a non-title match against Chris Adams and Terry Taylor! The popular duo of Adams and Taylor were a stark contrast the hard-nosed brawling of Murdoch and DiBiase, but Adams and Taylor hung in pretty well.
The Hard Liners focused on Adams' leg and Taylor's arm, looking to neutralize the Superkick and the Five-Arm, but Adams and Taylor are far from one trick ponies!
In the ring, Taylor rolled up Slater and bridged...but in the process, his shoulders were on the mat too! The referee counted both men down!
Chris Adams and Terry Taylor and The Hard Liners (Dick Murdoch and Dick Slater) battled to a double pin in 0:08:42. Rating: **
There was some confusion post-match as to just who had won...but The Hard Liners decided not to let that bother them as they jumped Taylor and Adams and sent them to the floor, standing tall in the middle of the ring!
Card rating: * 3/4
