He says that he has made a number of mistakes in his life, in the business, and that’s why he’s given himself the name “The Fallen Angel”. But, the X-Division Title, is a bit of resolution for his past. Daniels says that once you find something that rights your wrongs, you want to hold onto it. When the video ends, Kurt Angle is seen backstage with Alisha Hicks, who asks for any final thoughts heading into tonight’s main event. He says it’s only right that he get this title shot; and that nothing will make him happier than walking out with the belt around his waist.
Also backstage, Ted Hanson is seen with Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton. Orton says that tonight is a night that has been repeated way too often over the past couple years. Monday Night Anarchy September 10, 2012 Scotia Bank Place – Ottawa, ON Attendance: 11,492 (60%)
A video package is played, showing highlights from Hostile Takeover last night. The video ends with Kurt Angle celebrating with the PCW Heavyweight Title to end the show.
“Headstrong” plays as the opening video package plays. Inside the arena, fireworks shoot from the stage, as Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to Ottawa, 24 hours after every title in the HWL changed hands at Hostile Takeover. It is announced that, due to the ending of their match last night, Brutus Magnus and John Cena will face each other tonight, in a No Disqualification Match! And, in non-title action, newly crowned champion Kurt Angle will face Eddie Edwards.
Kurt Angle’s music plays, garnering “You suck!” chants from the audience. Angle walks down to the ring with the title belt around his waist. He stands in the ring, soaking in the jeers, before grabbing a microphone. Angle says that it’s true that the people in Canada are just not as smart as the people in America. They boo someone who, just last night, proved that he’s the best athlete in the HWL; not to mention, someone who will go down as one of the United States’ all-time sports heroes! Angle says that the fans were probably hoping that Randy Orton would come out here and talk about how he was able to retain; but, instead, Angle is out to say that he put his career on the line for the chance to challenge for the title last night, and he walked out of Hostile Takeover as champ. He demands the crowd’s respect, saying they don’t have the balls to stand up and fight for what they want in life!
Chris Hero’s music plays he walks down to the ring. The announcers make note that the PCW Television Champion isn’t carrying his title tonight. Hero enters the ring and stands across the ring from Angle with a microphone of his own. Hero says he’s the last person Angle expected to see in the ring tonight, and that’s what makes this moment all the better. Hero gives credit to Angle for his accomplishments during the Olympics; but he says that Angle won his gold medals 16 years ago! People have gotten tired of hearing about them. Angle calls the crowd stupid, again, for cheering Hero. Hero tells Angle they’re not stupid, they just have good taste! Angles looks ready to fight, but Hero tells him to hold off because Hero has an idea. Hero asks what would be better to headline Downfall on October 14th, then “Olympic Hero vs. Superhero”. Hero tells Angle to think about it before dropping his microphone and leaving the ring. Angle stares at Hero as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
Ted DiBiase pinned Jesse Neal with the Dream Street in 6:46. Jesse Neal injured his left knee. He will be out for two weeks. Rating: * ½
A night after attacking Alex Riley with a chair at Hostile Takeover, Ted DiBiase took on Jesse Neal. During the match, it appeared that Neal landed awkwardly on his left knee, giving DiBiase the opening to hit the Dream Street for the victory. After the match, DiBiase focused on Neal’s injured knee before officials rushed to the ring and escorted DiBiase backstage. Neal was assisted to the back by the medical staff.
Commercial Break
Coming back from the break, Chris Hero is seen walking backstage, when he is confronted by Claudio Castagnoli. Claudio says that Hero might be biting off more than he can chew by thinking he can hang with Kurt Angle in the ring. Hero tells Claudio that it’s none of his concern who he can hang in the ring with. Claudio tells Hero that he doesn’t want Hero distracted in their match tonight before walking off.
Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon defeated Kazarian & Luke Gallows when Colon pinned Gallows after a flying dropkick in 12:16. Rating: ***
Cabana and Colon got back on the right foot, after failing to advance past the semi-final round in the Tag Team Title tournament, against the team of Kazarian and Gallows. The victory will help Cabana and Colon move up the Tag Team rankings, and could possibly put them in line for a future title shot.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, a video package is shown of Kaitlyn winning the Women’s Title at Hostile Takeover. After the video ends, Kaitlyn is introduced, joining the announcers at ringside.
Leva Bates pinned Nikki Bella after a piledriver in 6:33. Rating: -1/2*
After the match, Leva rolled out of the ring and confronted Kaitlyn at the announce table. Leva tells Kaitlyn she’s not capable of holding the Women’s Title, and that Leva will be getting “her” title back at Downfall. Leva turns and leaves ringside as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, X-Division Champion Kevin Steen walks down to the ring, greeted by a chorus of boos. Steen gets in the ring, placing the title over his shoulder and inciting the crowd to keep booing him. Steen laughs and says he doesn’t need the approval of people in Ottawa. Coming from Quebec, Steen says that it’s clear that Quebecers are much better than anyone from Ontario. Just like he proved, last night, that he was better than Christopher Daniels. Steen says that Daniels talked about righting his wrongs, and the X-Division Title being Daniels’ salvation. Steen says that he took away Daniels’ salvation, and put him through hell in order to do it. Steen tells Daniels to go find another “savior”, so that Steen can move onto other things. Steen says he wants to wipe his hands of Daniels, and keep moving forward as X-Division Champion. He says that winning the title doesn’t seem enough for most people to give Steen the respect he deserves. So, he’s going to take over the X Division, and make people respect him.
This brings out Alex Riley, who comes out to the stage, interrupting Steen. Riley says that there are a number of athletes in the X Division that could very well take the title away from Steen. Riley says they’re confident and ready; all they need is the chance to prove themselves. Steen tells Riley that he sounds like an infomercial for the guys who are wanting to do the same thing Riley is. Steen says he didn’t care what chance anyone else got; he was only worried about what chances he got. Riley tells Steen that he can pay respect to the rest of the roster, but he’s not out here to speak for them; he’s out to speak for himself. Riley calls himself the best thing going in the X Division currently, and says that he is out here to challenge Steen to an X-Division Title Match at Downfall. Steen asks Riley if he’s serious, before accepting the challenge. Anarchy goes to commercials as both men stare down each other across the arena.
Commercial Break
A recap of the opening segment, between Chris Hero and Kurt Angle is shown. It is announced that they will face each other, on October 14th, at Downfall.
The Indepedents (Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino) defeated The A-List Knockouts (Chris Hero & David Otunga) when S. Corino pinned D. Otunga after a backward kick in 14:32. Rating: *** ½
Last night, at Hostile Takeover, Castagnoli and Corino played a big part in The Knockouts not walking away with the Tag Team Titles. Because of their interference, Peter Bradshaw signed tonight’s match. Chris Hero, who earlier tonight secured his spot as challenger to the Heavyweight Title, found himself having to deal with another distraction outside the ring: Kurt Angle. Angle took Hero out of the match with a chair-shot outside the ring, and Otunga fell victim to the numbers game.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, a video package plays, showing highlights from last night’s match against Brutus Magnus and John Cena. It is repeated that tonight’s match will be held with no disqualifications.
No-DQ Match Brutus Magnus defeated John Cena via pinfall in 8:30. Rating: **** ¾
A night after John Cena used a steel chair to put an end to their match at Hostile Takeover, a steel chair would be the ultimate end for Cena. While outside the ring, Magnus cracked a chair of Cena’s head, opening up a gash on Cena’s head. The chair-shot led to Magnus pinning Cena and finally getting a pinfall victory after a lengthy feud.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, it is announced that after their confrontation earlier tonight, Kevin Steen and Alex Riley will both be in action next week on Anarchy.
Non-Title Match © Kurt Angle pinned Eddie Edwards after a belly-to-belly suplex in 8:32. Rating: ***
After the match, Angle celebrated his victory until Chris Hero appeared on-stage. Hero stood on the stage, staring at Angle and shaking his head. Anarchy goes off the air with the two men staring at each other from across the arena.

Monday Night Anarchy September 17, 2012 Sprint Center – Kansas City, MO Attendance: 10,711 (57%)
A video package plays, showing the confrontation between Chris Hero and Kurt Angle from the start of last week’s show. It also shows the stare-down between the two at the end of the show.
“Headstrong” plays as the opening video package is shown. Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels are at ringside, and announce that the Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston will be in action later tonight.
“Chris is Awesome” begins to play as Chris Hero makes his way down to the ring. Inside the ring, Hero grabs a microphone and says that he has been hearing from fans all over the world about his confrontation with Kurt Angle last week. Hero says he wouldn’t call it a confrontation, but more of an announcement. An announcement Chris Hero was not going to be content with tag team success. An announcement that he was striving for bigger and better things. He says there’s nothing bigger than the HWL Heavyweight Title. And the only problem with that, is that the title is currently in Kurt Angle’s possession. Hero also says that he’s been asked why there was no physical altercation between the two of them last week. To that, Hero tells the crowd that he’s not going to throw the first punch; but promises, come Downfall, he will throw the last one.
Kurt Angle’s music begins to play as the Heavyweight Champion makes his way to the ring. He gets into Hero’s face and says that Hero is getting a little too cocky, with nothing to show for it. Angle points to the title belt on his shoulder and says that it’s the only thing that matters. Angle tells Hero he is not ready to be on Angle’s level, before slapping Hero across the face! Hero takes a step back, holding his jaw, as Angle glowers at him. Hero loosens his neck before dropping Angle with a right hand! Angle scrambles back to the corner, looking stunned at Hero. Hero heads towards the corner, but Angle holds up his hand, before sliding under the bottom rope. Hero grabs the title belt and throws it at Angle, and says that the next time Angle thinks about putting his hands on him, he’ll never live it down. Angle slowly backs up the ramp as Hero’s music plays and Anarchy goes to commercials.
Rami Sebei pinned Ted DiBiase after a power bomb in 6:29. Rating: *** ¼
The one who calls himself “Priceless”, DiBiase came into this match with a pretty heated streak as of late. After attacking Alex Riley at Hostile Takeover, and then effectively putting Jesse Neal on the shelf with a leg injury, DiBiase set his sights on Rami Sebei. Seeing red and looking to inflict more damage on the HWL roster, DiBiase’s rage seemed to have blinded the third-generation star, as he quickly fell prey to Sebei’s lucha libre style. DiBiase was taken so off guard that, after breaking up a cobra clutch attempt before it could be latched on, Sebei connected with a power bomb for the victory.
Backstage, Mike Sydal is seen in the catering area, moving back and forth to the muffled echos of music coming from an oversized pair of headphones placed over his head. Adam Cole walks in and smacks the headphones off Sydal’s head. Sydal gets up and wants to know what Cole’s problem is. Cole says he’s looking his problem. Cole says he and Sydal have unfinished business, and now that Sydal’s little winning streak is over, it’s time they step in the ring again. Cole challenges Sydal to a match at Downfall. Sydal accepts the challenge and says he’ll leave Cole laying on the canvas, just like he did last night. Out of nowhere, Cole sends Sydal down with a right hand. And, as he walks away, Cole stomps on the headphones, shattering them to pieces. Anarchy goes to commercials.
Non-Title Match © Kaitlyn defeated Nikki Bella by disqualification in 5:18. Rating: -3/4* [Leva Bates interfered against Kaitlyn.]
It seems like the feud between Leva Bates and Kaitlyn is only going to intensify as we get closer to their title match at Downfall. Tonight, Leva took a stop further from her comments made to Kaitlyn last week, attacking the Women’s Champion as she went for a pinfall attempt on Nikki Bella. Leva let Kaitlyn know that she still isn’t worthy of holding the Women’s Title, before leaving the ring.
Alex Riley is shown walking through the backstage area, as the announcers talk about his upcoming match with PCW Heavyweight Champion Bobby Roode. As Riley heads towards the entryway, he is stopped by X-Division Champion Kevin Steen. Steen reminds Riley of what was said last week – that Riley considers himself the best thing going in the X-Division. Steen says that’s just not true because, if it was, he’d be holding the title belt, and he’s not. Steen says that Riley wanted a shot to prove himself, and tonight he’s got it. Steen says he wants to see if Riley has what it takes to take down the top game in “minor leagues”, before walking off as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Bobby Roode pinned Alex Riley with the Payoff in 7:26. Rating: ***
Eight days after coming up short in his debut at the Hostile Takeover event, Bobby Roode and Alex Riley had their rematch. It appeared that Kevin Steen’s pep talk beforehand struck a chord in the mind of Riley. He was unable overcome the PCW Heavyweight Champion this time around.
After the match, Alisha Hicks is backstage, trying to get a word from Leva Bates. When she finally gets Leva to stop, Alisha asks why Leva attacked Kaitlyn earlier tonight. Leva asks if Alisha heard what was said in the ring. Before Alisha can answer, Leva tells her that she attacked Kaitlyn as a reminder that Leva isn’t going anywhere until she gets back her title. She says that Nikki Bella should have never won that belt, and Kaitlyn is the one who will suffer for it.
A preview for tonight’s main event is shown, as Chris Hero will step into the ring against Steve Corino. Anarchy goes to commercials.
Returning from the break, John Cena’s music plays. The crowd joins in with their “You suck!” chants. Cena walks on-stage, a bandage covering his face from his match last week against Brutus Magnus. Cena ignores the chants and makes his way to the ring. Cena starts off by saying that last week, Magnus opened up a gash on Cena’s forehead that caused Cena to get eight staples. The crowd cheers. Cena says that he doesn’t give a damn what the crowd thinks. The only reason he’s out here tonight, is to let everyone in the back know that he’s sick and tired of losing! Cena says he’s pissed off and he’s putting everyone in the locker room on notice, unless some unlikely jackass wants to take him on. Cena says he knows he’s better than everyone else on the roster, and that he will prove it one way or another!
“Cult of Personality” hits and the crowd goes crazy! CM Punk walks onto the stage and the camera shows John Cena standing in the ring, shaking his head. Punk walks down the ramp and says he’s probably the last person Cena wants to see tonight. But, here he is; deal with it. Punk enters the ring and gets into Cena’s face. He says that, just like Cena, Punk’s looking for a match, too. Punk tells Cena that he has no sympathy a Cena losing every match he’s had since joining the HWL because, unlike Punk, they didn’t mean anything. Punk says that Cena is lying when he says he doesn’t care about what the fans think because he spent so many years pandering to them. Punk says Cena isn’t tired of losing; he’s tired of looking like an idiot! Punk tells Cena that, if he wants a match at Downfall bad enough, then he’s looking at the man he’ll face. Punk says that nothing would be more satisfying that putting Cena to sleep one more time. Punk leaves the ring, while his music plays, as Anarchy goes to commercials.
A preview for Downfall is shown, highlighting the matches that have currently been announced, including the CM Punk/John Cena match that was just made.
Non-Title Match © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon when Kofi pinned E. Colon after spinning headscissors in 9:10. Rating: ** ¾
Backstage, Alex Riley is seen in the locker room, sitting in a chair with his head down. Alisha Hicks comes forward and asks for a statement about tonight’s match. Riley shakes his head and says that Roode just got the better of him tonight. He says that if he’s going to have any hope of winning the X-Division Title, he needs to be at his best at all times. Riley makes it known that he’s done answering questions, as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Non-Title Match Martin Maldonado defeated © Kevin Steen by disqualification after Steen used the title belt in 10:10. Rating: ** ¾
After the match, Steen stands over the former champion’s body and screams that no one will get this belt as long as Steen’s champion! Steen leaves the ring to a chorus of boos as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Returning from the break, a preview for Anarchy next week asks what the fallout will be from the confrontation between CM Punk and John Cena. Also, Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle will be in action!
Chris Hero pinned Steve Corino with the Hero’s Welcome in 12:08. Rating: **** [Shane Hagadorn interfered against Chris Hero.]

Monday Night Anarchy - September 24, 2012 - Allstate Arena, Rosemont, IL Announcers: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 10,915
CM Punk starts off the show, getting a huge ovation from his hometown fans as he makes his way to the ring. Punk said that he had been waiting, biding his time for the right moment to come back from his self-imposed “break” and make his presence known, once again, in the HWL. He said last week was that moment. Punk thanks John Cena for making that moment possible because, “now, all of these people will get to see two of the biggest names in wrestling face each other inside this ring at Downfall.” Punk ran through the list of things that he had been doing in the HWL leading up to the time that Cena entered the company, saying that for nearly the past year, Punk had been a main event player. Punk said that now was his chance to prove that he will always been a main eventer. Suddenly, Cena entered the ring and attacked Punk from behind! After a small brawl, Cena took over and hit an FU in the center of the ring. Cena stood over Punk as the show went to commercials.
Martin Maldonado pinned Rami Sebei with the Gringo Killer in 10:05. Rating: ** ½
A ref bump towards the end of the match allowed Maldonado to use a steel chair, ending Sebei’s gaining momentum. A Gringo Killer as the referee was returning to his feed sealed the deal, and allowed Maldonado to pick up the victory.
Commercial Break
Returning back from the break, Adam Cole is seen sitting in Catering, in front of a plate of food. Mike Sydal walked in and laid a receipt next to Cole’s plate. “I think it’s only fair that you pay for what you broke,” Sydal told Cole. Cole shook his head, said he won’t pay for anything. Sydal, frustrated, pushed Cole’s plate to the floor. Cole stood up, heated, only to be met with a stiff smack across the face! Shocked and holding his face, Cole could only watch as Sydal walked out of the room.
ODB defeated Leva Bates by disqualification in 5:10. Rating: N/A [Brie Bella interfered against ODB.]
Just a couple weeks away from getting another shot at the Women’s Title, Leva Bates found herself in the ring with the newest member of the Vixen’s roster. ODB’s dominance – albeit in one match – was enough to put the rest of the division on guard, and it was certainly enough to warrant Brie Bella’s interference in the match, saving her friend anymore damage at the hands of the newcomer. The DQ victory keeps ODB’s winning streak alive, as she is undefeated since debuting.
Commercial Break
The Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston are backstage with Alisha Hicks, as we return from commercials. Alisha congratulates them on winning the Tag Team Titles and asks how it feels to have come out on top after the tournament. AJ says that all the tournament did was force two people who didn’t know each other from Adam to join forces for the same goal. He says that their teamwork and friendship only strengthened as they made their way to the finals. Kofi says that he wasn’t given a lot of opportunities since joining the HWL; but he’s grateful that AJ teamed with him to begin with, and says that he’s getting lessons from one of the better wrestlers in the industry every single day. AJ stays that winning the Tag Team Titles was only the beginning and that there’s still so much more that he and Kofi can accomplish.
The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus & Rob Terry) defeated The Independents (Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino) when Magnus pinned S. Corino after a Samoan Drop in 11:43. Rating: ** ¼
Castagnoli and Corino are coming off a huge victory at Hostile Takeover a couple weeks ago, earning the right to challenge for the Tag Team Titles next month at Downfall. However, their road to titles hit a bump as they were blindsided by the resurgent reuniting duo of Magnus and Terry. Clearly, Magus and Terry picked up huge momentum with the win tonight; for Castagnoli and Corino, they have to hope that tonight’s loss doesn’t derail them in their quest for gold.
Commercial Break
Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle makes his way out to the ring, carrying the belt over his shoulder. Angle says he’s not out to talk trash about Chris Hero, tonight because there’s something more important that needs to be addressed. Angle says he had seen concerning signs in the past but didn’t want to say anything before he was sure. Last week, he was sure. Angle claims that Hero might need to get treatment from a doctor. Angle says he’s worried that Hero might have an undisclosed concussion… because that would be the only reason why Hero would think he’s a superhero. Angle reminds the crowd that superheroes are fictional characters seen only in movies or comic books. Angle says he doesn’t believe in superheroes, and he questions Hero’s mental state, just weeks before they face off at Downfall. Angle says that Hero calls himself “The Knockout Kid”… and that’s all he is: a kid, thinking he can step into the ring with a real man. A man that won a Gold Medal with a broken neck! Angle promises to teach Hero a lesson about knowing when to take a chance… and when to keep his mouth shut… at Downfall.
Commercial Break
AJ Styles pinned John Cena after an enzirguiri in 10:05. Rating: *** ¼
After his attack on their hometown hero earlier in the show, the Chicago fans would not Cena forget where he was. “CM Punk” chants bellowed from the stands throughout this very entertaining match. Cena and Styles have been huge stars in the business for years, and tonight they squared off in one of the most iconic buildings in wrestling. However, with both men dealing with their respective issues, they left nothing on the table. After Cena hit the FU on Styles, Punk emerged from backstage and made his way to the ring. Styles fought back as Cena was clearly distracted at Punk’s presence – and the on-going chants from the crowd. Cena blocked a kick to the midsection, but Punk grabbed his foot. Cena glanced down at Punk and was quickly met with the enzurigiri that allowed Styles to make the pin.
Backstage, Alex Riley is seen on his way to the ring stage area. He stops as he comes across X-Division Champion Kevin Steen. Riley wants to know how content Steen is with winning his match last week by cheating. He asks Steen how he can call himself a champion. Steen can call himself a champion because the title over his shoulder says he is one. And, Steen says he won’t be content until he kicks Riley’s ass at Downfall. Steen walks away as we go to commercials.
Commercial Break
Alex Riley pinned Matt Morgan after a spinebuster slam in 8:24. Rating: * ¼
Riley’s momentum picked up a huge head of steam on his way to facing Kevin Steen at Downfall, with a clean victory over “The Blueprint”. It looks as is the champ’s mind games are not working the way he thought they would.
A preview for next week’s Anarchy is shown. It’s announced that Chris Hero will speak in response to Kurt Angle tonight… and CM Punk will be in action… next week, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Commercial Break
Non-Title Match Kurt Angle © made Colt Cabana submit to the Ankle Lock in 12:16. Rating: *** ½
Angle made his thoughts about the man challenging him for the Heavyweight Title at Downfall – Chris Hero – tonight, before competing in the main event. The crowd kept up their raucous cheers for another hometown favorite, as Colt Cabana had the task of taking down the champion. Fueled by the crowd cheering him on, Cabana gave Angle a much tougher opponent than was expected, which turned out to make this match quite enjoyable. But, in the end, Cabana found himself trapped in the Ankle Lock with no other option than to tap out.

Monday Night Anarchy – October 1, 2012 – Colonial Life Arena – Columbia, SC Announcers: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 7,068
Chris Hero starts off the show this week, coming out to the ring and addressing the comments made by Kurt Angle last week. Hero tells the crowd that there’s nothing wrong with his mental state. Hero says that he grew up in the era of superhero cartoons and going outside to pretend he’s Superman or Batman or whoever he wanted to be that day. Hero says that he grew up with the idea that he could be anything he wanted. For him, he wanted to be a professional wrestler. And now, in 13 days, he gets the chance to wrestle for the HWL Heavyweight Title. In 13 days, he gets to be that visual of ‘hope” for the kids of today. That, if you put your mind to it, and work hard, you can accomplish anything. Hero tells Angle that he respects what he did as an Olympian. But that he will never respect Angle trying to tell people what they can and can’t do.

Tyson Kidd pinned Edwin Colon after a swinging fisherman suplex in 16:52. Rating: ** ½
Tyson Kidd and Edwin Colon have gotten to know each other quite well over the past year, as they have done battle, in their respective tag teams, over the Tag Team titles. Tonight, they squared off one-on-one, in a very fast-paced match. It was a pretty even match until it was obvious that Colon couldn’t keep up with the speed of Kidd. So, in a move of desperation, Colon grabbed the referee while in the corner and Kidd knocked him out with a running dropkick! Another referee ran down to the ring, but Colon’s selfish tactics didn’t work, as Kidd was able to hit the swinging fisherman suplex for the victory.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, we see ODB entering Peter Bradshaw’s office. ODB demands a match with Brie Bella after she interfered last week. Bradshaw says he understands, but instead says that ODB and Kaitlyn will take on Brie Bella and Leva Bates next week!
Non-Title Match © Kaitlyn pinned Kelly Kelly with the Flatliner in 11:52. Rating: -1/2*
Kelly Kelly has tried to be a thorn in Kaitlyn’s side ever since they both debuted on the main roster. Tonight was no different as Kelly tried to derail the Women’s Champion’s momentum heading into Downfall. However, that turned out not to be the case as Kaitlyn hit the Flatliner to end the match.
Commercial Break
Eric Young and Shannon Moore battled to a double countout in 9:24. Rating: ** ¼
Eric Young made his in-ring debut tonight in a match that started out as a showcase of quick offense from both men, but eventually turned into an all-out brawl outside the ring. Both men used their surroundings to inflict damage on the other; and neither of them let up, even after the referee had counted both men out. After the bell rang, TED DIBIASE, JR ran down to ringside and blindsided Moore from behind! DiBiase and Young double-teamed Moore until JESSE NEAL ran down to the ring and fought off both men, protecting his tag team partner! Neal, returning from an injury suffered in a match with DiBiase a couple weeks ago, stands over his partner as DiBiase and Young retreat backstage.
Commercial Break
John Cena comes out to the ring and receives a roar of boos from the crowd. Cena says that the only reason anyone was backing CM Punk last week was because they were in his hometown. No one outside of Chicago gives a damn about CM Punk! He goes on to blame Punk for him not defeating AJ Styles last week. Cena says that he might not have a victory yet, but the only match that matters now is two weeks away. Cena says that he’ll expect Punk to go back into hiding after Cena proves that he’s the better man inside the ring.
Commercial Break
Backstage, we see Kofi Kingston and AJ Styles in the hallway. AJ wishes Kofi luck in his match before they slap hands and head in opposite directions. Styles enters their locker room and shuts the door. Moments later, CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI and STEVE CORINO enter the room. A scuffle is heard inside the room. After everything quiets, Castagnoli and Corino leave the room. The camera shows Styles laid out on the floor.
Brutus Magnus defeated Rami Sebei when R. Sebei passed out in an armbar submission in 13:52. Rating: *** ½ (Kofi Kingston no-showed.)
Apparently, word travels fast! Just before getting to the stage, Kingston was stopped and informed about the attack on his partner. Kingston refused to go out to the ring until he knew AJ was OK. Forced to make a decision, Peter Bradshaw sent Brutus Magnus out to the ring. Sebei wasn’t expecting a change in opponents, but nonetheless, put up a good fight. During the match, Sebei attempted a 450 Splash, but Magnus rolled away, and Sebei landed awkwardly on his shoulder. Magnus went after the shoulder and locked in an armbar, giving Sebei no option but to tap out.
Commercial Break
Alex Riley defeated Marin Maldonado by disqualification in 12:03. Rating: ** ½
Both men came into this match looking to continue their winning ways. It became obvious throughout the match that, no matter what he tried, Maldonado would not be able to put Riley away for the 1-2-3. So, instead, he resorted for getting himself DQ’ed and inflicting as much damage as he could. After the match, Maldonado beat Riley down in the ring, before walking away to a chorus of boos.
Commercial Break
A preview for next week’s Anarchy is shown. It is announced that, due to the events from earlier tonight, Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal will take on the team of Eric Young and Ted DiBiase.
Randy Orton and Chris Hero battled to a no-contest in 10:01. Rating: *** ¾ [Kurt Angle interfered against Chris Hero.]
Chris Hero was looking to gain a huge boost of momentum just 13 days away from his title shot against Kurt Angle. A victory over the former Champion would have given him that boost. However, the current Champion had different plans. After Orton tossed Hero outside the ring, Angle ran down to ringside and attacked Hero, throwing him into the steel ring steps! Orton exited the ring, and he and Angle got into a shoving match. After trying to break up the two, the referee had no other choice but to call this match a no-contest.
Card rating: ** ¾
Card Observations: After the events that ended the show, Peter Bradshaw has signed a non-title match for next week, pitting former champ Randy Orton against current champ Kurt Angle.

Angle says he’s been getting a lot of public hate since last week. People saying he had no right to interfere in last week’s main event. Angle says that, as the Heavyweight Champion, he can do whatever he damn well pleases. This brings out CHRIS HERO. Hero says that this is an example of Angle bullying his way into things and, for that reason, Angle should not be Heavyweight Champion. Hero promises to do everything he can on Sunday night to take that title away. Angle looks poised to hit Hero but gets interrupted as PETER BRADSHAW appears on-stage. Bradshaw reminds both men that their match will not be spoiled before Sunday night. He also reminds Angle that, tonight, he will be in the main event against Randy Orton.
Commercial Break
Adam Cole pinned Tyson Kidd after a Northern Lights suplex in 10:55. Rating: *** ¼
Matt Sydal was at ringside for this match, just six days from facing Adam Cole at Downfall. Cole was looking to pick up a much-needed victory heading into the PPV, and he got one hell of a match out of Tyson Kidd. The fans were fully engaged in this high-speed contest, which saw a number of near falls. Cole surprised Kidd with a quick Northern Lights suplex, and was seen pulling Kidd’s trunks while getting the pinfall. After the match, Cole left the ring and confronted Sydal at ringside. Cole told Sydal that he’d see him on Sunday night before walking away.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, a video shot earlier in the day is shown. It shows Women’s Champion Kaitlyn approaching ODB and thanking her for having her back tonight. ODB says that it’s nothing, and that Brie Bella will learn not to stick her nose in a bitch’s business.
ODB & Kaitlyn defeated Leva Bates & Brie Bella when Kaitlyn pinned B. Bella after a spear in 5:43. Rating: ¼*
It was obviously from the moment they arrived at the ring, that OBD and Kaitlyn were quite the intimidating force. ODB and Kaitlyn worked well as a team, whereas on the other side, it looked like Leva wanted Brie to do all the heavy lifting. Brie took the fall after a spear from Kaitlyn for the 1-2-3. After the match, Leva jumped off the apron, and Kaitlyn stood in the middle of the ring, raising her title in the air. In six days they meet with the title on the line!
Commercial Break
Eric Young & Ted DiBiase defeated Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal & Shannon Moore) when DiBiase pinned S. Moore with the Dream Street in 16:52. Rating: *** ½
Last week saw the return of Jesse Neal from an injury suffered at the hands of Ted DiBiase a month ago, as he came to the aid of his tag partner Shannon Moore. Tonight, they teamed up to take on DiBiase and Eric Young, who debuted last week. In a hard-hitting match, both teams gave everything they had. The crowd anticipated every time that DiBiase and Neal got in the ring, as it was announced that they will be facing each other this Sunday at Downfall. DiBiase came out on top tonight, hitting the Dream Street on Moore to pick up the victory.
Commercial Break
Shane Hagadorn lead Claudio Castagnoli and Steve Corino to the ring as we come back from the break. Hagadorn says that, last week, the actions of his men should have sent a message to every tag team in the back, especially the Tag Team Champions, AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston. Hagadorn says there’s power in numbers, and that leaving your partner alone – at any point – puts them at risk of winding up just like Styles and Kingston did last week. This brings out the Tag Team Champions, who come down to the ring. No words are exchanged, as all four men begin brawling in the ring! HWL officials rush down, attempting to break up the melee. PETER BRADSHAW once again comes out to the stage and announces that, tonight, the four men in the ring will face each other, but with one difference. The Independents will team up with Rami Sebei and the champions will team up with Brutus Magnus. A six-man tag match is next!
Commercial Break
AJ Styles, Kofi Kingston and Brutus Magnus defeated The Independents (Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino) and Rami Sebei when K. Kingston pinned C. Castagnoli after a flying legdrop in 9:04. Rating: *** ¾
The tension between these three men is clearly at a fever pitch! Peter Bradshaw had no option but to sign this match before someone got hurt tonight, and it doesn’t seem like anything has cooled down afterwards. There is still a lot of heat heading into Downfall in six days. Kingston shocked “Double C” with the flying legdrop, and Styles and Magnus cleared the ring as the referee made the three count. After the match, Hagadorn and his boys were irate, claiming that things were far from being over.
Commercial Break
X-Division Champion Kevin Steen walks through the backstage area, heading toward the ring, when he sees Alex Riley. Steen asks how it feels to have choked last week against Martin Maldonado, before laughing. Steen puts his hands up to this throat and pretends to be choking as he walks off. Riley is shown fuming as we go to ringside.
Non-Title Match Kevin Steen pinned Bobby Roode with the Package Piledriver in 8:21. Rating: *** ¼
Kevin Steen picks up a huge victory over the PCW Heavyweight Champion tonight; a win he needed heading into his match against Alex Riley this Sunday night.
Commercial Break
A final preview is shown for Downfall, as “Tempest” plays in the background.
Non-Title Match Randy Orton pinned Kurt Angle with the RKO in 14:11. Rating: *** ¾
Chris Hero was a ringside for tonight’s main event, which turned into a bloody brawl between two men who have a long history with each other. As both men made their way outside the ring, it looked like this match would end in a countout. But the match continued after they found their way back into the ring, blood spilling from both their faces. The end saw Angle attempt to put Orton in a sleeperhold, but The Viper struck with an RKO in the center of the ring for a shocking upset! After the match, Orton posed in the corners and shared a stare with Hero at the announce table.
Card Rating: *** ¼
Card Observations: As we wrap up the final Anarchy before Downfall, it was announced that Jesse Neal will get his chance at payback on Ted DiBiase, as they will now face each other in singles action this Sunday night!

HWL Downfall PPV – October 14, 2012 – Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV Announcers: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 6,990
“Tempest” by Deftones plays as a video package for the pay-per-view is shown. Pyros go off inside the arena as Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone Sin City. Seven big matches have been scheduled for tonight, and they send things to the ring for the first match of the night.
Adam Cole pinned Mike Sydal after a Yakuza kick in 0:43. Rating: *
A number of weeks ago, Sydal picked up what many would say was a fluke victory over Cole on Anarchy. Ever since that night, the former Heavyweight Champion has vowed to get his loss avenged. Tonight, Cole did just that, coming out and dominating Sydal, hitting the Yakuza kick to pick up that victory in less than a minute!
Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with Leva Bates and Brie Bella. She asks Leva whether the loss on Monday night changed how she feels heading into tonight’s match against Kaitlyn. Bates looks at Brie, who lowers her head, and says that no, she doesn’t feel any different. Kaitlyn didn’t pin her on Monday and she isn’t going to pin Leva tonight.
Women’s Title Match Kaitlyn defeated Leva Bates by count out in 7:31. Rating: -1/4* (Kaitlyn retained the Women’s Title.)
Ever since losing the title to Kaitlyn last month in a Triple Threat Match, Leva Bates has been on a mission to get the title back. With the help of Brie Bella, Leva had done everything she could to make Kaitlyn’s life miserable leading up to tonight. In the lead-up to tonight, Kaitlyn got some assistance from ODB, who teamed with Kaitlyn this past Monday night. However, ODB was not at ringside to counter the presence of Brie, but it would turn out that Kaitlyn was fine on her own. Leva came out swinging early, dominating the match. But, Kaitlyn was able to switch momentum after ducking a clothesline and sending Bates outside the ring. Kaitlyn rammed Bates’ shoulder into the ring post. She then hit a fireman’s carry, sending Bates down onto her injured shoulder! Kaitlyn rolled back into the ring and dared Brie to help Bates back into the ring. Brie struggled with the decision, and by the time she acted, the referee had counted Leva out!
A preview for the next pay-per-view, Wicked Games, is shown as “Temper Temper” by Bullet For My Valentine plays in the background. The HWL will invade the United Kingdom with a sixteen-man tournament to crown a new number one contender for the Heavyweight Title. Wicked Games will be Sunday, November 11th, LIVE from London, England!
A video package is shown highlighting the feud between Jesse Neal and Ted DiBiase, Jr.
Jesse Neal defeated Ted DiBiase, Jr. by disqualification in 23:31. Rating: ***
Jesse Neal returned two weeks ago after suffering an injury at the hands of DiBiase, Jr. Neal had claimed that the third-generation star was a sore loser after being unable to defeat Neal on the Anarchy in which the attack happened. Tonight, DiBiase, Jr. came out with a vicious streak, that Neal didn’t really have an answer for. However, Neal’s resiliency was enough to quickly frustrate DiBiase, Jr. as the match wore on. A number of near falls saw DiBiase, Jr. come inches from picking up the victory, but Neal was able to kick out each time. The end of the match saw DiBiase Jr. lock in a sleeper hold for nearly 45 seconds, but Neal was able to reach the ropes – much to the amazement of the crowd. Right after, DiBiase, Jr. connected with the Dream Street for what was to be a sure pinfall, only to have Neal kick out at two-and-a-half. Enraged, DiBiase, Jr. shoved the referee and attacked Neal. The referee quickly called for the DQ as HWL officials rushed to the ring, pulling the two men apart.
A highlight package is played, showing moments from the Tag Team Title tournament. Highlights from The Independents’ victory over Colt Cabana and Edwin Colon, in the Number One Contenders’ Match at Hostile Takeover is shown. After the package is done, Alisha Hicks is seen with Claudio Castagnoli, Steve Corino, and Shane Hagadorn. Hagadorn says that his men may not have won the tournament to become the champions, but they earned their right to be here tonight. Hagadorn reminds everyone that he once managed The A-List Knockouts; and that there’s a reason why he left them for greener pastures. He didn’t have confidence in Chris Hero or David Otunga. But, the men standing with him tonight, he has all the confidence in the world that they will walk out of Las Vegas carrying gold. Consider it… their lucky night.
Tag Team Title Match AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated The Independents (Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino) when Styles pinned Castagnoli with the Styles Clash in 17:44. Rating: **** (AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston retained the Tag Team Titles.)
Clearly a favorite for Match of the Night… these two teams put on one hell of a show for the Vegas crowd! Castagnoli and Corino pulled out all the tricks they could, including getting Hagadorn involved in the match. But, in the end, no underhand tricks were going to work, as Styls connected with the Styles Clash for a clean victory in the middle of the ring. A successful title defense for the champions, as they now await who’s next in line for a shot at their belts.
A preview for the next pay-per-view, Wicked Games, is shown as “Temper Temper” by Bullet For My Valentine plays in the background. The HWL will invade the United Kingdom with a sixteen-man tournament to crown a new number one contender for the Heavyweight Title. Wicked Games will be Sunday, November 11th, LIVE from London, England.
Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with Alex Riley, moments before his X-Division Title Match. Riley says that Kevin Steen thinks he can bully people around and get away with it because he’s the X-Division Champion. Riley says that, last week, Steen crossed a line and that tonight, with the idea that “anything goes”, he is going to do things to Steen that have never done before. Riley says that he wants the X-Division Title, but if he somehow doesn’t win it, Steen will always remember what happens in Vegas.
X-Division Title Match Kevin Steen pinned Alex Riley after a Flatliner in 12:20. Rating: ** ¾ (Kevin Steen retained the X-Division Title.)
In a match with the only rule being that pinfalls and submissions must take place inside the ring, both of these men left a trail of destruction at ringside. Early on in the match it looked as if it was going to be Riley’s night, as Steen missed a plancha from the apron, crashing down onto the concrete. Riley took control at that point, but was unable to put away the champion. As the match made it’s way back outside the ring, Steen evened things up with a vicious chair shot that dented the chair. For good measure, Steen whipped Riley hard into the ring post. Steen brought in a set of ring steps and sent Riley crashing down on them with the Backpack Piledriver in a sickening display. Somehow, out of sheer instinct, Riley kicked out. Steen then, mercifully hit a Flatliner for the 1-2-3.
A video package is shown of the War of Words between John Cena and CM Punk leading up tonight’s match. In comments made earlier in the evening, Cena repeated the idea that Punk was just waiting for the right time to come back and chose to do it against Cena, so everyone would forget that he couldn’t win back the Heavyweight Title. In Punk’s comments, he says that Cena is a narcissist, who clearly still thinks he can get away with whatever he wants because he was the biggest ass-kisser of the McMahon family. Punk reminds Cena that he hasn’t done a damn thing since coming to the HWL, and that won’t change after tonight.
John Cena pinned CM Punk with the F-U in 19:02. Rating: ****
Cena picked up a huge, much-needed victory tonight in a match that had the crowd standing on their feet. If the Tag Team Title Match wasn’t MOTN, then this one surely was. The Vegas crowd got to see two of the biggest stars of the past five years go at it for nearly 20 minutes, in what will surely go down as a classic match. Punk and Cena left everything they had inside the ring, and after an F-U from Cena, Punk was unable to kick out before the three-count. Both men lay on the canvas as the crowd chanted “This is awesome!”
A video package plays, highlighting the feud between Chris Hero and Kurt Angle. After the video, Alisha Hicks asks Chris Hero how he’s feeling heading into what could be the biggest match of his career. Hero says that he’s had a lot of big moments in his career but stepping into the ring with an Olympian for the Heavyweight Title is definitely in the Top Three. Hero says he’s here to prove to all kids that are just like he was growing up… wanting to be anything they could be. Hero says that, at some point, Angle was looked up to by young kids everywhere, as an example of what they could be. Now, he’s the greatest example of what not to be.
HWL Heavyweight Title Match Kurt Angle made Chris Hero submit to the Ankle Lock in 15:14. Rating: **** ½ (Kurt Angle retained the HWL Heavyweight Title.) [Randy Orton interfered against Kurt Angle.]
Chris Hero came into this match with the weight on his shoulders of having to dethrone the Olympic Gold Medalist to win the Heavyweight Title. But, once the bell rang, things quickly turned against the Champion, as RANDY ORTON made his way to ringside. Angle had to contend with Hero inside the ring, as well as Orton outside. Hero and Angle put on a great match, but whenever Hero got too close for comfort, Angle found a way to send him outside the ring. Orton would routinely help Hero to his feet, which quickly irritated Hero. Orton would also pick his spots to distract Angle, which quickly drew the ire of the referee. Late in the match, Orton was caught trying to interfere against Angle as Hero was getting to his feet outside the ring. The referee Demanded Orton to leave the ring, which he did begrudgingly. As Hero re-entered the ring, Angle hit a low blow behind the ref’s back, and put Hero in the Ankle Lock. Suffering two types of pain, Hero had no choice but to tap out, which garnered a round of boss from the Vegas crowd. After the match, Angle celebrated with the title as Orton watched on from the top of the stage.

Monday Night Anarchy – 10/15/12 – US Airways Center, Phoenix, AZ Announcers: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 5,158
A highlight package from Downfall plays. Josh Daniels welcomes everyone to Phoenix and is joined at ringside by Scott Michaels. Tonight starts the journey to the United Kingdom, as the first set of opening round matches for the Wicked Games Tournament will take place.
John Cena’s music hits as he comes out to a chorus of boos, and the fans chanting “John Cena sucks!” Cena walks down the ramp, entering the ring, and grabbing a microphone. He stands in the ring, letting the crowd continue their jeers. Finally, Cena tells everyone to shut their mouths. Cena says he has come out to the ring because last night was an important night for him. Last night, Cena put an end to a losing streak that had everyone in the HWL praying would continue. Cena reminds everyone that CM Punk was the man that fell victim last night. But this isn’t about the loser, it’s about the winner – John Cena. Cena says that last night’s victory put him at the top of the list for a Heavyweight Title shot. So, he is out here tonight, issuing a challenge to Kurt Angle.
Instead of Kurt Angle, Randy Orton appears on-stage. He walks down the ramp, getting a mixed reaction from the crowd. He enters the ring and grabs a microphone of his own before facing down Cena. Orton tells Cena that he’s getting ahead of himself. Orton congratulates Cena on beating CM Punk but says that it’s something Orton has already done. The only difference is, Orton beat Punk for the Heavyweight Title. Orton says that Cena can come out here and demand a title shot all night long, but the one thing that makes Orton the rightful challenger to Angle’s title is the fact that last right, inside this ring, Orton defeated Angle.
Before Cena can respond, Peter Bradshaw makes his way onto the stage, with a microphone in-hand. Bradshaw says that both men have compelling points, so it’s hard to say who has the biggest claim to the Number One Contender’s spot. Bradshaw says there’s really only one way to solve this problem. He signs a Number One Contender’s Match for tonight’s main event, between Randy Orton and John Cena!
Commercial Break
Shannon Moore pinned Adam Cole after a small package in 11:22. Rating: *** ¼
Last night, Adam Cole made a statement in a very dominating victory over Mike Sydal. Tonight, however, he stepped into the ring with tougher competition in “The Prince of Punk”. Cole’s eagerness to inflict pain backfired, and Moore found himself in control for most of the match. Cole did attempt a comeback, but Moore countered a clotheline attempt into a small package, surprising Cole with the victory. After the match, Moore celebrated on the turnbuckle as Cole got up to his feet. Cole attacked Moore from behind and threw him outside the ring. Cole continued his assault on Moore at ringside, eventually throwing Moore into the barricade. Cole stomped up the ramp as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
Backstage, Leva Bates and Brie Bella are seen entering the arena. Leva has athletic tape around her shoulder. Brie says that it was a shame how Kaitlyn won last night. She says she was sure that Leva would regain the title. Leva stops and looks at Brie. She asks Brie why she stood by and did nothing to help her back into the ring last night. Leva says that her shoulder hurts like hell, but that it doesn’t compare with the embarrassment she has to live with knowing she was counted out. Leva tells Brie that it’s her fault Leva isn’t champion tonight. Leva walks off, leaving Brie standing alone, as we go to the ring.
ODB defeated Nikki Bella by disqualification in 4:29. Rating: ¼*
ODB has taken the women’s division by storm since debuting a number of weeks ago. She came into this match undefeated and picked up a big victory – with Kaitlyn – over Leva Bates and Brie Bella last week. Tonight, she squared off with the former Women’s Champion, Nikki Bella. This match came to an abrupt end as BRIE BELLA came down to ringside, hitting ODB in the back as she was running into the ropes. Brie started talking trash as she backed up the ramp. But when ODB left the ring, Brie turned and ran toward the back, leaving her sister dumbfounded in the ring.
Commercial Break
Wicked Games Tournament – Round One Claudio Castagnoli pinned Colt Cabana after an airplane spin toss in 4:48. Rating: *** ¼
Claudio Castagnoli kicked off the 2012 Wicked Games Tournament with a very quick and dominating victory over Colt Cabana. “Double C” advances to the quarterfinals and awaits his opponent: either Brutus Magnus or CM Punk.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, Jesse Neal congratulates Shannon Moore on his victory earlier tonight. They shake hands before departing in opposite directions. As Neal turns a corner, TED DIBIASE blindsides him. DiBiase sends Neal into the concrete wall before hitting a number of stomps. DiBiase says he doesn’t care about winning or losing; he just wants to kick Neal’s ass. DiBiase walks away as Neal struggles for breath.
-Also backstage, Alisha Hicks congratulates Kevin Steen on retaining the X-Division Title last night. Steen says that Alisha is the only one today who has appreciated Steen’s efforts in the ring. He says that he’s been in the business for a number of years, and since Day One, has done things no one thought he could do. He says he knows what he’s doing inside the ring and no one can take that from him. Steen says that for so long everyone looked up to Shawn Michaels. They labeled him “Mr. WrestleMania” and “The Showstopper”. Steen says he’s better than Michaelsand call himself “Mr. Wrestling”. Steen says he’s the X-Division Champion, but after Wicked Games, he’s going to be the Number One Contender for the HWL Heavyweight Title. As Steen starts to walk off, he is stopped by CHRISTOPHER DANIELS, who says they have unfinished business that will be taken care of next week.
Commercial Break
Kazarian & Luke Gallows defeated Ted DiBiase & Eric Young when L. Gallows pinned T. DiBiase with the Gallows Pole in 29:42. Rating: *** ½
During the match, it was announced that the winners would receive a title match at Wicked Games. This match certainly did have the crowd on their feet, as this match went nearly half-an-hour. Kazarian and Luke Gallows really showed that they are worthy of more attention than they’ve gotten lately. Of course, it didn’t hurt their changes when JESSE NEAL appeared on-stage, with bandaged ribs, calling out DiBiase. The distraction allowed Gallows to hit the Gallows Pole for the victory.
Commercial Break

These two men made their cases for being Number One Contender known at the start of the show. Throughout the match, both men did everything they could to avoid the other’s finishing maneuver. Cena pushed off Orton during an RKO attempt; Orton countered an F-U into a DDT. Eventually both men found their way outside, where Cena rammed Orton into the ring post before hitting a suplex onto the concrete floor! Back inside the ring, with a shot at the title match at Wicked Games, Orton fought back and looked poised to hit the RKO, but Cena countered it with a backslide and, using his feet on the ropes, got the 1-2-3! After the match, Cena quickly rolled out the ring, saying “You can’t see me,” to Orton. The main event for Wicked Games has been set!

Monday Night Anarchy – October 22, 2012 – Pepsi Center, Denver, CO Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 14,406
-Highlights are shown from last week’s episode, including Claudio Castagnoli and CM Punk advancing in the Wicked Game tournament; Kazarian and Luke Gallows becoming Number One Contenders for the Tag Team Titles; and John Cena becoming Number One Contender for the HWL Heavyweight Title. Inside the arena, Josh Daniels welcomes everyone to Denver, three weeks away from Wicked Games in London, England! Tonight, two more First Round matches will take place.
-HWL Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle comes out to the ring address his challenger at Wicked Games, John Cena. Angle calls Cena a punk for how he won his match last week, stating that everyone could see he was using the ropes. Angle says that Cena should do the right thing and give up his title shot but knows he won’t because Cena is selfish. Angle says Cena doesn’t deserve a match against Angle. Suddenly, Cena’s music begins to play, drawing Angle’s attention to the ramp. Cena slides into the ring, from behind, and attacks Angle. Cena lands a few punches before lifting Angle up and hitting the F-U in the center of the ring. Cena exits the ring, leaving Angle laying on the canvas, as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
Edwin Colon defeated Shannon Moore by disqualification in 10:36. Rating: *** (Eric Young no-showed.)
Moore was coming off a big victory against Adam Cole last week, but was taken off his game when his scheduled opponent, Eric Young, failed to showed up tonight. Instead, Moore squared off against Edwin Colon, in what shoud have been an easy victory for Moore on paper. However, Colon showed that his abilities inside the ring are better than what his record may indicate. After failing to put Colon away with a crucifix, Moore shoved the referee which led to an immediate DQ. After the match, Moore went after Colon, but JESSE NEAL ran down to the ring and pulled his partner out of the ring. It was announced that Moore will get another shot to face Young, next week.
Commercial Break
-Backstage, ODB is seen with Alisha Hicks. ODB says that Brie Bella had no reason to show up at ringside last week during her match. She looks into the camera and tells Brie that if she has something to say, she can say it in the ring at Wicked Games, if Brie is woman enough to accept the challenge.
Non-Title Match © Kaitlyn defeated Nikki Bella by count out in 20:50. Rating: DUD
These two women are no stranger to each other, as it was Nikki Bella whom Kaitlyn defeated for the Women’s Title two months ago. This was a brutal match, that showcased both women’s ability to take – and give – punishment in and out of the ring. Nothing was off limits on ringside, but both women used whatever they could get their hands on. Ultimately, on one of the trips outside the ring, Kaitlyn connected with a spear, smacking Nikki’s head against the concrete. Kaitlyn rolled back into the ring as the referee counted Nikki out.

Wicked Games Tournament – First Round © Kevin Steen pinned Christopher Daniels with the Package Piledriver in 21:43. Rating: *****
This was an “instant classic” match! The crowd was on its feet throughout this rematch – if you could call it that – between Steen and Daniels, who met two months ago for the X-Division Title. Steen walked away the winner in that contest, but Daniels was determined to have a different outcome tonight. Daniels and Steen gave this match everything they had. Daniels looked like he had things in control for the early part of the match, but it became evident that he was running out of ideas after Steen kicked out of the Best Moonsault Ever for the third time! Steen would come up short on several pinfall attempts, including a Package Piledriver early in the match. But, taking advantage of Daniels’ draining resolve, Steen hit a second Package Piledriver for the 1-2-3. Steen would not wait and see who he would face in the Quarterfinals: Rami Sebei and Randy Orton.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Alisha Hicks asks AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston about facing Kazarian and Luke Gallows at Wicked Games. Styles says he tips his cap to Kazarian and Gallows for being in the right place at the right time. Styles praises their ability to show up when it meant the most, and now they have a shot at the Tag Team Titles. Before Kofi can speak, TED DIBIASE approaches and says that he and Eric Young more deserving of a title shot than Kazarian and Gallows. DiBiase says they will prove it in two weeks, challenging Styles and Kingston to a match. Kingston tells DiBiase that Young couldn’t even make it to the arena tonight. How can DiBiase be sure he would show up for their title match? Styles and Kingston walk off, leaving DIBiase speechless.
Commercial Break
Non-Title Match © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus & Rob Terry) when Kofi pinned R. Terry after a dropkick in 16:20. Rating: ** ¾
After being challenged by Ted DiBiase in a backstage interview, Styles and Kingston came with a point to prove, both to DiBiase and Eric Young, but also to their challengers at Wicked Games, Kazarian & Luke Gallows. Magnus and Terry have been a cohesive unit, even though they’ve gone through their own ups and downs over the years, and they gave the champions a competitive match-up. But, in the end, Kingston ended things after a stiff dropkick for the 1-2-3.
Commercial Break
-A preview for next week’s show is played, announcing that Jay Briscoe will take on Bobby Roode, and Eddie Edwards will face Matt Morgan in first round matches for the Wicked Games tournament.
Wicked Games Tournament – First Round Randy Orton pinned Rami Sebei after a flying forearm in 12:57. Rating: ** ¾
Randy Orton was determined to become number one contender last week, but was cheated out of that chance by John Cena, who used the ropes to help defeat “The Viper”. Orton used whatever aggravation he had from last week and took it out in a very stiff match against Rami Sebei tonight. Orton used a hard flying forearm to pick up the victory, and move one step closer to a Heavyweight Title Match. He will face X-Division Champion Kevin Steen in the quarterfinals in London.
Commercial Break
Non-Title Match © Kurt Angle pinned Steve Corino after a flying forearm in 27:44. Rating: *** ¾
Kurt Angle showed incredible fortitude in tonight’s main event. After being attacked by John Cena at the beginning of the night, questions arose of whether or not Angle could handle Steve Corino. Corino gave Angle everything he had in his arsenal, but Angle kept fighting back. Eventually, Angle was able to put Corino in the Ankle Lock but be grabbed the ropes to break the hold. The damage was down already by that point, and Angle connected with a flying forearm for the victory. After the match, JOHN CENA shows up on the stage and tells Angle he’s impressed with Angle’s win tonight. Cena says he’ll just have to kick Angle’s ass a little harder next week! The show goes off the air as Cena drops the mic and walks off stage, leaving Angle in the ring.

Monday Night Anarchy – October 29, 2012 – XL Center, Hartford, CT Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 8,405
-HWL Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle comes out to the ring and says that John Cena’s actions last night prove that he is a punk. Angle calls out Cena, saying that he can’t wait until Wicked Games, and wants a piece of Cena right now! Angle stands in the ring, waiting for Cena to appear, and the crowd begins to boo. Angle tells everyone that Cena is scared because he knows that Angle would kick his ass, just like he’s going to do at Wicked Games! Angle says that Peter Bradshaw better pay attention because Angle promises that, if he finds Cena backstage, Cena won’t make it to London. Angle leaves the ring and heads up the ramp as the show goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
-Returning from commercials, Kurt Angle is shown scouring the parking lot outside the arena. He walks around, calling Cena a coward. Cena jumps Angle from behind from between two vehicles. Cena whips Angle into a parked car; it’s alarm begins to blare! HWL officials quickly rush toward the scene and pull Cena off Angle. Cena bad-mouths Angle as the camera goes to ringside.
Shannon Moore and Eric Young battled to a double count out in 11:14. Rating: ** 1/2
These two met up a number of weeks ago during a tag team match with their partners Jesse Neal and Ted DiBiase, respectively. They were scheduled to face each other last week, but due to travel issues, Young was able to make it to the show. So, tonight, finally, they squared off. And, it seemed from the start, that something hung on between them from that tag team match. Both men found their way outside the ring, where they continued to brawl until the referee called for the bell, counting both men out! The referee quickly left the ring and separated the two, putting an end to things for the evening. Strong words were shared between them as Anarchy went to commercials.
Commercial Break
-Kurt Angle is seen getting tended to by the medical staff. They test him for a concussion and ask him a series of questions. Angle stands up and says this is ridiculous, that he’s done. He says he’s fine and walks out of the training room.
-Brie Bella is seen with Alisha Hicks. Brie asks Alisha in ODB is. Where did she come from? What did she do? Why does she think that Brie would be intimidated by anything she says or does? Brie says she’s a three-time Women’s Champion and will not be spoken to like some scared little girl. She says that she’ll do what she wants, when she wants, and if ODB thinks she can stop her, then Brie accepts the challenge for Wicked Games. Brie is asked about the confrontation between her and Leva Bates last week but walks away before answering the question.
Kelly Kelly pinned Leva Bates after a bulldog in 10:37. Rating: ¼*
Leva Bates came down to the ring, for the first time since joining forces, without Brie Bella. Two weeks ago, Bates and Brie had what some would call a “falling out”, when Leva blamed Brie for costing her a match against Women’s Champion Kaitlyn at Downfall. Leva was at a disadvantage of not having an outside influence at ringside, and quickly fell to a bulldog, allowing Kelly Kelly to pick up the victory.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Kurt Angle is seen walking through the hallway, heading back to his locker room. Angle can be seen wobbling slightly, as he approaches Peter Bradshaw. Bradshaw stops Angle and tells him that he is in no shape to be at the arena, whether he’s in action or not. Bradshaw tells Angle to pack up his things, go back to the hotel, and get some rest. They go their separate ways as the camera goes back to ringside.
Wicked Games Tournament – First Round Eddie Edwards pinned Matt Morgan after a facebuster in 12:59. Rating: ** ¾
Both men got a good ovation from the crowd, as they are both from the region. However, in a battle between strength and speed, speed won out tonight. Edwards kicked Morgan and then surprised him with a facebuster for the win. We will find out later tonight whether Edwards will face Bobby Roode or Jay Briscoe in London.
Commercial Break
-A video is played of comments made by Ted DiBiase, last week, saying that he and Eric Young should be Number One Contenders for the Tag Team Titles. When the video ends, Alisha Hicks asks Kazarian and Luke Gallows for a comment. They say that DiBiase and Young can make all the claims they want, but the fact remains that they lost to Kazarian and Gallows weeks ago. Just like them, DiBiase and Young would have to earn it.
Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon defeated Kazarian & Luke Gallows when Cabana pinned Gallows after a kneelift in 10:05. Rating: ** ½
Kazarian and Gallows have had a rough time as of late in their attempt to gain momentum heading into their Tag Team Title match at Wicked Games. A win over former champions Cabana and Colon would be a huge boost for their confidence, but things did not turn out the way they had hoped. TED DIBIASE and ERIC YOUNG came out to ringside, after hearing the comments that were made before the match, and distracted Kazarian and Gallows. The distraction allowed Gallows to lose focus, as Cabana connected with a kneelift for the victory. After the match, DiBiase and Young celebrated their actions as the show went to commercials.
Commercial Break
-Kurt Angle is seen carrying a bag over his shoulder and the Heavyweight Title over the other. Nothing is said as he steps outside. The announcers wish Angle a speedy recovery from whatever injuries he suffered tonight, as the door closes behind Angle.
-A preview for the final Anarchy before Wicked Games is shown The final two matches to determine who moves on to London will take place, as Steve Corino takes on Alex Riley, and Chris Hero faces Martin Maldonado.
Wicked Games Tournament – First Round Jay Briscoe defeated Bobby Roode by disqualification in 10:02. Rating: ** ½ [Cody Rhodes interfered against Jay Briscoe.]
Jay Brisoce made his single debut tonight, after not being in action since his brother, Mark, went down with an injury a number of weeks ago. It was certainly a high-pressure situation in which to make a debut, but Briscoe held his own against the former PCW Heavyweight Champion. But, just when it looked like Briscoe was going to put Roode away, CODY RHODES returned to the HWL, and attacked Briscoe, causing the referee to call for the DQ. After the match, Rhodes rolled out of the ring and stumbled up the ramp, laughing as Roode and the referee looked on in shock. Rhodes raised his arms in the air and made his way to the back as Anarchy went to commercials.
Commercial Break
John Cena defeated Chris Hero by disqualification in 11:51. Rating: *** ¼ [Kurt Angle interfered against John Cena.]
Earlier tonight, John Cena attacked Kurt Angle in the parking lot, causing the Heavyweight Champion to suffer concussion-like symptoms throughout the evening. Cena didn’t seem concerned with his actions as he stepped into the ring against Chris Hero in tonight’s event. He looked prepared to send another message to Angle as he hit the F-U on Hero. But, as he went for the pin, KURT ANGLE entered the ring and broke up the pin, attacking Cena. Cena tried to fight back, but Angle connected with an Angle Slam! Angle quickly locked on the Ankle Lock in the center of the ring. HWL officials rushed down and pulled Angle away, as Cena screamed in pain. Angle stood in the corner, surrounded by officials, as Anarchy went off the air.

Monday Night Anarchy – November 5, 2011 – Prudential Center, Newark, NJ Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 5,051
-John Cena’s music plays as he makes his way to the ring, receiving a roar of boos from the crowd. He enters the ring and grabs a microphone as the boos continue. Cena calls the crowd idiots to boo him while their golden boy, Kurt Angle, is nothing but a hypocrite. Cena asks what kind of man can come out here and claim integrity, only to blindside someone with their championship belt. Cena says he’s done talking, he’s done with the sneak attacks. Just like last week, Cena says he wants Kurt Angle – tonight!
This brings out Peter Bradshaw, for the second straight week, who says he’s sorry to disappoint. But, he says he thinks he has something that could make Cena, Angle, and the fans happy. Bradshaw says that Cena and Angle will be in the same ring tonight, but as part of respective teams. Tonight, Cena will team with Kazarian and Luke Gallows to take on Angle, AJ Styles, and Kofi Kingston in a six-man tag match!

After facing each other over the past couple weeks with no clear winner, Peter Bradshaw signed tonight’s match as a Best of Three Falls Match. Moore looked very impressive, and finally put an end to this on-going rivalry with a convincing 2-0 victory.
Commercial Break
-Women’s Champion Kaitlyn is seen walking through the backstage area, when Kelly Kelly confronts her. Kelly tells Kaitlyn that she’s coming for the Women’s Title this Sunday, and that she’s going to end Kaitlyn’s little “dream” of being champion. Kaitlyn smiles and says this Sunday will be no different than the last time they were in the ring together. Kaitlyn reminds Kelly that she was defeated on the way to Kaitlyn winning the Women’s Title. Kaitlyn walks away leaving Kelly fuming.
ODB defeated Melina by disqualification in 6:03. Rating: ¾* [Brie Bella interfered against ODB.]
Melina made her return to the HWL tonight, but it was overshadowed by the on-going situation between ODB and Brie Bella. Melina didn’t seem to have lost a step, after spending time in PCW, and she certainly held her own against the relative newcomer to the main roster. However, Brie attacked ODB as she was going for the pinfall, getting Melina DQ’d. After the match, Brie quickly fled the ring, as ODB gave chase. Anarchy goes to commercials as ODB stalked Brie up the ramp.
Commercial Break
-Alisha Hicks is seen with a wobbly Cody Rhodes and asks why he chose to attack Jay Briscoe last week. Rhodes, slurring his speech, says that he’s been gone for a long time, and that he wanted to make a mark upon his return. Rhodes props himself up against the wall to continue the interview. Hicks asks what his goal is, now that he’s come back to the HWL. Rhodes, still slurring, says that he wants the Heavyweight Title. But, for now, he wants a drink. Rhodes saunters down the hallway as we go back to ringside.
Wicked Games Tournament – Round One Alex Riley pinned Steve Corino after a back elbow in 10:13. Rating: ***
Alex Riley has been had a very successful run, as of late, and tonight was no different. Even with the numbers game against him, Riley was able to get the victory over Steve Corino with a back elbow that caught Corino flush in the nose! To make up for his lack of equality at ringside, Riley put his feet on the ropes, with the referee seeing, for leverage during the pinfall. With the win, Riley advances to the Quarterfinals of the Wicked Game tournament and will wait to see who he faces this Sunday night: Chris Hero and Martin Maldonado.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Kevin Steen is shown talking to Rami Sebei backstage. Steen is talking about how he’s going to beat Randy Orton on Sunday night, on his way to becoming the Wicked Games winner. The conversation is interrupted as Peter Bradshaw approaches the pair. Bradshaw reminds Steen of the 30-day clause for title defenses, and says that he has signed a match tonight, between Steen and Claudio Castagnoli for the X-Division Title. Bradshaw gives Steen two choices: defend the title or walk into London without a title. Bradshaw walks away as Steen fumes.
Wicked Games Tournament – Round One Chris Hero pinned Martin Maldonado with the Hero’s Welcome in 10:18. Rating: ***
Chris Hero stamped himself a ticket to London tonight, picking up the final spot in the Quarterfinal Round of the Wicked Games tournament. He will square off against Alex Riley in six days.
Commercial Break
-Alisha Hicks is with Kazarian and Luke Gallows as we return from commercials. They say tonight is going to be a unique match for them, teaming up with John Cena. Unique because they don’t agree with Cena’s tactics, but they are being forced, in a sense, to team with him. Nothing against Cena, they say, but the only thing they’re worried about is picking up a victory on their way to Wicked Games.
X-Division Title Match Kevin Steen pinned Claudio Castagnoli after the Discus Punch in 10:32. Rating: *** ¼ (Kevin Steen retained the X-Division Title.)
The self-proclaimed “Mr. Wrestling” continued to live up to that moniker tonight, as Steen came out on top after a brutal match between two men who have traveled the road together. Castagnoli had the advantage of Shane Hagadorn at ringside, but that turned out to not even be a factor in the match, as Steen continued flush with a Discus Punch that seemed to make Claudio’s knees buckle. Steen made the cover, and with the title defense, he picks up huge momentum heading into his match with Randy Orton this Sunday night.
Commercial Break
-A final preview for “Wicked Games” is shown. The event will take place this Sunday night, from London! Eight men will do battle for the chance to face the HWL Heavyweight Champion inside a steel cage at Caged Rage. Also, the Tag Team and Women’s Titles will be on the line.
Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Kofi Kingston defeated John Cena, Kazarian, and Luke Gallows when K. Angle pinned L. Gallows after an enzuigiri in 14:33. Rating: *** ½
The crowd was certainly hyped for this match, as it would be the last time to see Angle and Cena in the same ring until Wicked Games this Sunday night. With all the tension between these two men, this match was looking to be explosive, and the crowd let them know it whenever they were in the ring together. Add to the mix the two teams that will be facing off for the Tag Team Titles in six days, and this match had a lot of implications heading into the pay-per-view. Cena and Angle were in the ring, at the end of the match, and it was clear that the fans wanted to see Cena tap out. But, Cena caught a lot of boos as he surprisingly tagged Gallows into the ring. Caught off guard, Gallows was unprepared for a revved-up Angle, who took his aggression out on the bigger man. Angle connected with a stiff enzuigiri as Gallows was getting to his feet, allowing Angle to make the pinfall. After the match, Cena jumped off the apron and walked up the ramp, staring at Angle. Anarchy goes off the air with them looking at each other from across the arena.

HWL Wicked Games PPV – November 11, 2012 – The O2 Arena, London, UK Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 7,800
-“Temper, Temper” by Bullet For My Valentine plays as Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to London. Tonight will see 11 huge matches, including the Heavyweight Title Match between John Cena and Champion Kurt Angle, as well as who will earn their chance to face the winner of that match next month at Caged Rage. They send things to the ring for tonight’s opening contest.
Wicked Games Tournament – Quarterfinal Randy Orton pinned Kevin Steen with the RKO in 10:34. Rating: *** ½
What a way to open up the show! “The Viper” and “Mr. Wrestling” came out and set the bar pretty high for the rest of the men and women on tonight’s car. Orton has said from Day One that he was going to use this tournament as a way to prove that he is the ‘top guy’ in the HWL. All he needed is one more shot at the Heavyweight Title. In similar fashion, Steen has said that this tournament would help him get the respect he deserves for what he can do inside the ring. Tonight. Steen certainly held his own against the former Heavyweight Champion. But Orton’s tenacity won out, as he was able to connect with an RKO for the 1-2-3. With the victory, Orton now awaits the winner of the Alex Riely-Chris Hero match-up.
-Backstage, the camera shows JOHN CENA entering the arena. The crowd, watching the Titantron inside the arena, start to boo as the announcers talk about tonight being Cena’s biggest opportunity since joining the HWL roster.
-Also backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with ALEX RILEY. Alisha aske about Riley’s victory over Steve Corino in the first round, and how some people have called it an upset. Riley says that people are calling it an upset simply based on the fact that Corino was seeded higher. Riley said he knows he’s a better wrestler than Corino and proved it. Now, he’s going out there to prove that he’s better than the PCW’s Television Champion Chris Hero.
Wicked Games Tournament – Quarterfinal Chris Hero and Alex Riley battled to a double countout in 5:45. Rating: ***
Alex Riley seemed to have a chip on his shoulder after the comments made by Alisha Hicks during the previous interview segment. He aggressively went after “The Young Knockout Kid” after the bell, but Hero was able thwart Riley’s attempts. However, Riley was determined to keep coming after Hero, so Hero took things outside the ring. Ringside, Hero finally put a stop to Riley’s attempts, whipping him into the steel ring steps. Hero set Riley up for the Hero’s Welcome and hit it on the concrete floor. But as Hero was getting to his feet, the referee counted to ten, and both men were counted out! Therefore, neither man advanced, giving Randy Orton a bye and a free trip to the Finals later tonight!
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with ODB. Hicks aske ODB her thoughts heading into her math with Brie Bella tonight. ODB said that Brie has shown she is nothing more than an antagonizer. ODB called Brie selfish and said that the only reason things have gotten as far as they have is because Brie feels offended by ODB getting into her business. OBD said she doesn’t care how Brie feels, and that tonight, she’s going to make Brie hurt.
-Jay Briscoe is seen standing backstage, alone. He said that a lot of people questioned what he’d be able to do now that his brother is gone from the HWL. People thought that he wouldn’t be able to cut it in the ring without his tag team partner there to back him up. Jay said that he and Mark have spent their entire careers together and admitted that going forward is going to be a change. But he said he has already proven that he can get the job done when it matters. He promised that tonight was going to be no different.
Brie Bella defeated ODB by disqualification in 3:12. Rating: ½*
Earlier tonight, ODB said that she was going to make Brie Bella “hurt” after Brie started sticking her nose in ODB’s business. ODB had control early on, and looked to have things under control, when she took a break to raise her flask to the fans at ringside. But, Brie attacked her from behind, causing ODB to spill the contents of the flask. Angered, ODB turned and smashed the flask over Brie’s head, in view of the referee, who quickly called for the DQ.
-Alisha Hicks is seen with Eddie Edwards backstage. Alisha asks how Edwards feels being back in single’s action, even just for this tournament, after teaming up with Tyson Kidd earlier in the year. Edwards says that he is thankful for everything Kidd has done for him, and that they are still a team. He says that this tournament is his opportunity to show the HWL what he can do by himself, and his goal is to walk away with a shot at the Heavyweight Champion next month.
-In a stand-alone video, Claudio Castagnoli and Shane Hagadorn are shown. Hagadorn says that, whether people will talk about it or not, he and CM Punk have quite the history. They’ve known each other for a many years, and it’s an odd coincidence that they will face off tonight in the Wicked Games Tournament. Hagadorn says that CM Punk is itching to get back into the title picture. He says that there’s one man who has can stop him from getting there, and that’s Claudio Castagnoli.
Wicked Games Tournament – Quarterfinal Eddie Edwards defeated Jay Briscoe when J. Briscoe passed out in the Achilles Lock in 13:14. Rating: **** ¼
In a match that is surely going to be hard to top as this evening goes on, Eddie Edwards picked up a shocking upset over the third-ranked Briscoe. Edwards proved that no matter what it says on paper, if you get your opponent down on the ground and can take away their base, anything is possible! Edwards grabbed the nerve hold and would not let go until Briscoe tapped out, eliminating himself from the tournament. Edwards now awaits the winner of the Claudio Castagnoli/CM Punk match.
-Backstage, CM Punk is asked about the comments made by Shane Hagadorn moments ago. Punk says that he finds it flattering and comical that everyone else in this tournament is only focused on the match they’re getting ready to fight. Punk knows the challenges that await him throughout this tournament; and he’s not going to discredit anyone in it. But, his ultimate goal isn’t to just beat Claudio Castagnoli. It’s to walk out of here with a shot at whoever holds the Heavyweight Title at Caged Rage.
-Kelly Kelly is backstage with Ted Hanson. He asks about her title shot against Kaitlyn tonight. Kelly says that she’s been on the brink of championship gold for months now, which proves that she’s not the laughing stock everyone made her out to be when she started out in this business. She says she can taste how close she is to winning the Women’s Title… and how tonight will be her night to finally do so.
Wicked Games Tournament – Quarterfinal CM Punk pinned Claudio Castagnoli with the GTS in 12:08. Rating: *** ½
The final match of the quarterfinal round saw CM Punk take on not only Claudio Castagnoli, but the possibility of interference from Shane Hagadorn. Hagadorn did find a way to trip Punk as he was running into the ropes, which turned the tide in his client’s favor. Despite the assistance, Castagnoli couldn’t put Punk away. As Punk fought his way back into the match, Hagadorn jumped onto the apron, trying to distract Punk. However, Punk moved out of the way as Castagnoli came in with a big boot attempt, knocking Hagadorn off the apron! Castagnoli turned around and Punk connected with the GTS for the victory!
-Ted Hanson is backstage with Women’s Champion Kaitlyn. Hanson tells Kaitlyn that Kelly Kelly says tonight is “her time” as she tries to win the Women’s Title. Kaitlyn says that it’s currently her time because she has the title. Kaitlyn says she’s going to defend this title against everyone that crosses her path. And tonight, Kelly is the next person on that list.
-Highlights are shown from the earlier matches that were won by Eddie Edwards and CM Punk.
Women’s Title Match Kaitlyn and Kelly Kelly battled to a double countout in 11:23. Rating: ½* (Kaitlyn retained the Women’s Title.)
Things didn’t work out so well for Kelly Kelly tonight, as she found out it’s not quite her time yet. On the other hand, Kaitlyn was unable to actually defeat Kelly in this match, so it is still her time for right now, but for how much longer? Both women kept going at each other after the bell rang. HWL officials rushed down to ringside, breaking them apart, and the feeling in the building was that these two would face off again soon with the title on the line.
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with JOHN CENA. Alisha asks what’s going through Cena’s mind tonight as he gets ready to challenge Kurt Angle for the Heavyweight Title. Cena says that since Day One when he arrived in the HWL, he told everyone that whether they loved him or hated him, they couldn’t deny that one day he would be at the top of the company – just like he was when he was Vince McMahon’s “golden boy”. Tonight, he’s going to embarrass Kurt Angle in front of all these people in London, and walk out of the United Kingdom as the new HWL Heavyweight Champion.
-Also backstage, KURT ANGLE is shown entering the building from earlier today. The announcers say he looked focused and locked-in on what could be his toughest challenge as champion.
Wicked Games Tournament – Semifinal CM Punk pinned Eddie Edwards with the GST in 10:05. Rating: *** ½
After finding out earlier tonight that Randy Orton would be receiving a bye into the finals due to the double countout between Alex Riley and Chris Hero, but Punk and Edwards knew they would be working on short rest in their semifinal contest. Punk seemed determined, no matter how much rest he had gotten, to stay on track with his message from earlier in the evening. Punk hit the GTS for the victory and earned himself a match with “The Viper” in the finals.
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with Kazarian and Luke Gallows as they prepare to take on AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston for the Tag Team Titles. Kazarian says that they’ve had a lot of ups and downs on the road to getting to tonight. He said a lot of people don’t give him and Gallows a chance at winning the titles. But, for them, winning the titles is their top priority. If nothing else, they want to show Styles and Kingston – and the rest of the tag division – that they are not a team to overlook.
-Ted Hanson is seen backstage with Randy Orton, who received a bye in the last round of the Wicked Games Tournament. Orton says that the bye puts him in the best position possible to walk out of London with a guaranteed rematch against Kurt Angle for the Heavyweight Title at Caged Rage. Orton says that he and Punk have had quite the past – even within the last year – and that it would be a fitting end to tonight if Orton was able to RKO Punk for the victory.
Tag Team Title Match AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Kazarian & Luke Gallows by disqualification in 15:02. Rating: ** (AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston retained the Tag Team Titles.) [Eric Young interfered against AJ Styles.]
AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston have been tearing up the Tag Team division ever since winning their own tournament to crown new champions. They have faced all comers, and always taken every challenge seriously. Tonight was no different as they stepped into the ring with Kazarian and Luke Gallows. However, TED DIBIASE and ERIC YOUNG couldn’t allow a standard wrestling match to take place. Young pulled the ropes down, early on in the match, causing Styles to crash down onto the concrete. Young and DiBiase worked over Styles until Kofi ran around and save his teammate. For the rest of the match, DiBiase and Young watched from the ramp, as Styles and Kingston had to find a way to come back from a 2-on-1 deficit. It would turn out they wouldn’t need to. Kingston, through struggling through the match, was able to hit the Trouble in Paradise on Kazarian… Gallows made the save, breaking up the pin. This allowed Kazarian the advantage, and he connected with a leg lariat. Kingston kicked out at two, infuriating Kazarian. He tossed the referee out of the ring, which prompted a DQ once the referee was able to recover.
After the match, DiBiase and Young took their chance to slide into the ring and take out Gallows and Kazarian. This left them int the ring with Styles and Kingston, which brought the crowd to their feet in anticipation. DiBiase and Young smiled at the champions before leaving the ring.
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle. Angle says that he knows there are three men all vying for the title he has over his shoulder, and they’re all men he has fought before. He says that Randy Orton and CM Punk are going to tear each other apart for the chance to face him at Caged Rage. He can worry about them tomorrow. Tonight, the only person he’s worried about is the man he’s facing tonight: John Cena. Angle says Cena has a lot of prove, and hopes that, if he’s able to get it done, Cena does it the right way.
Heavyweight Title Match John Cena defeated Kurt Angle by pinfall in 21:49. Rating: **** ¼ (John Cena won the Heavyweight Title.)
The match that would set one half of the main event for Caged Rage got off to a fast start, as both men came out trying to make quick pinfalls to put the match away early. Things took on a much slower pace after Angle resorted to a low blow on Cena, taking control, and allowing Angle to control the match. However, giving up the ground game to the former Olympian, Cena held on. Out of desperation, Cena used Angle’s tights to send him through the ropes, crashing onto the concrete. Cena whipped Angle into the ring post and began working over his shoulder. Cena kept rolling in and out of the ring to break up the 10-count, but he did it one too many times, and Angle grabbed a chair and attempted swung it as Cena’s head. Cena ducked, however, and the chair cracked the referee in the head! Cena rushed outside and attacked Angle, but the two men started brawling. Cena returned the low blow from earlier and smashed Angle’s head into the announce table. Cena grabbed the title belt and hit Angle with it, opening up the champion’s forehead. Cena then picked up Angle and hi the F-U through the announce table! Cena dragged Angle out of the rubble and rolled him into the ring as the referee was slowly getting to his feet. Cena crawled under the bottom rope and covered Angle for the 1-2-3.
-A highlight package is shown of CM Punk and Randy Orton’s victories throughout the tournament.
Wicked Games Tournament – Finals CM Punk pinned Randy Orton with the GTS in 15:06. Randy Orton injured his right knee. He will be out for approximately four weeks. Rating: ****
The main event pitted two men who have become very familiar with each other over the last calendar year. Orton and Punk have had a number of battles, especially over the Heavyweight Title, so it’s only fitting that they were face off for the chance to challenge new champion John Cena next month at Caged Rage. Orton tried to put the match away early, connecting with an RKO out of nowhere. Punk kicked out, but it was obvious that it took “The Best in the World” off his game. Punk spent the next few minutes trying to clear the cobwebs and get back into the match, but Orton kept derailing Punk’s advances. Orton connected with a hanging DDT from the second rope but was only able to get a two-count. As Punk slowly got to his feet, Orton prepared for a “punt”, but as he ran in for it, Punk chop-blocked Orton’s leg. Orton buckled to the ground, allowing Punk to regain his composure. Punk tried to pull Orton to his feet, but Orton’s leg gave out. Punk picked Orton up and hit the GTS for the victory.
After the match, Punk left the ring, screaming “Best in the World!” as Orton was tended to by the referee and medical staff. The event went off the air with Punk celebrating on the stage.

Monday Night Anarchy – 11/12/12 – Manchester Arena, Manchester, UK Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 9,870
-A video is played, showing highlights from last night’s Wicked Games pay-per-view. We go inside the arena, where Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome us to Manchester, 24 hours after Wicked Games; and the stage is set for next month’s Caged Rage main event.
-John Cena’s music plays as he walks on-stage with the Heavyweight Title around his waist. He walks to the ring, largely ignoring the crowd, before entering and grabbing a microphone. Cena says that, from Day One, he told everyone that he would be at the top of the HWL – just like he was at the top for the McMahons all those years. He says the only difference is back then, he was doing it for the money. Now, he’s doing it to prove a point. He doesn’t need the money – he’s made enough to last him a lifetime. He came here to prove that he could get to the top without a billionaire’s backing or support from the thousands of people that filled arena seats every night. He says, whether or not the people in Manchester or around the world like it, the champ is here! Cena says he doesn’t care if people like him or not, but now that he has the Heavyweight Title, they should all start respecting him.
This brings out CM PUNK, who comes out to the stage, shaking his head. Punk asks Cena if he really just suggested that the fans of the HWL start respecting him. Punk says it’s cute that Cena thinks he can start demanding stuff just because he has the title around his waist. He says that Cena is delusional if he thinks anyone is going to respect him after the actions that took place last night. Punk says he wasn’t the only one that watched as Cena cracked that very title belt over the had of Kurt Angle with the referee down. Punk says if there’s anyone in this building that deserves respect tonight, it’s him. Going through three different opponents in a single night, earning a shot at Cena’s tainted title – and doing it all inside the ring – that deserves respect. But, Punk isn’t out here demanding respect. He’s out to tell Cena that he has something Punk got screwed out of. And, in a month’s time, Punk will beat the hell out of Cena – inside a steel cage – to get it back!
Commercial Break
Shannon Moore defeated Ted DiBiase via pinfall in 10:44. Rating: **
Shannon Moore continued his winning ways the night after Wicked Games, with an impressive victory over Ted DiBiase, to start things off in Manchester. DiBiase and his partner made their mark during the Tag Team Title Match last night, and it appeared that DiBiase’s mind was elsewhere tonight. This allowed Moore to hit a stiff kneelift that wobbled DiBiase. Moore rolled DiBiase into the ring and made the cover for the 1-2-3.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Alisha Hick is seen with ODB. ODB says that Brie Bella has done the two things that piss her off the most: Sticking her nose in ODB’s business, and last night, making her spill her drink. ODB challenges Brie to another match, next week on Anarchy.
Women’s Title Match Kelly Kelly pinned Kaitlyn with the K2 in 8:06. Rating: ¼* (Kelly Kelly won the Women’s Title.)
Twenty-four hours after being counted out in their title match at Wicked Games, Kelly Kelly and Kaitlyn met for their rematch tonight in Manchester. Kelly Kelly was looking for her time to start on Sunday night, but it appeared that her plans were just a day behind. After the match, Kaitlyn looked on in shock as Kelly celebrated her victory on the way up the ramp.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, a video is played of Ted DiBiase and Eric Young attacking AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston during the Tag Team Title Match last night. When the video ends, Alisha Hicks is seen with both men backstage. Alisha asks why DiBiase and Young chose to get involved in the title match last night. Young says that their actions last night were the first move towards their goal of becoming Tag Team Champions. The next move is right now, when they challenge Styles and Kingston to a Title Match at Caged Rage. DiBiase says if Styles and Kingston want to find them, they’re not hard to miss.
Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon defeated Brutus Magnus & Rob Terry when Cabana pinned R. Terry after the Ace Crusher in 8:05. Rating: ** ¼
Cabana and Colon picked up a victory over The British Invasion in front of their country-people tonight. The victory will definitely move Cabana and Colon up in the standings in the Tag Team Division.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, X-Division Champion Kevin Steen makes his way out to the ring. He says that, last week, he came out here and beat Claudio Castagnoli to defend his title. He says that last night’s loss to Randy Orton in the quarterfinals of the Wicked Games tournament. But, Steen says he’s still the better wrestler tonight because he has a championship title over his shoulder, and Orton couldn’t get the job done against CM Punk. Steen says he’s out here tonight to offer up an open challenge to anyone who thinks they can take the X-Division Title off of “Mr. Wrestling”.
Matt Morgan’s music plays as he makes his way down to the ring. Morgan stands and looks down at Steen before saying that he’s more than happy to take the belt away from him. Morgan says he would love a second reign with the belt. Steen says that the only reason he was able to win the belt last time was because he outweighed Chris Sabin by a good 75 pounds. Steen says if Morgan wants another shot at the belt, he’s not going to have as easy a time as he did back then. Morgan says he does want a shot, and will see Steen at Caged Rage. Morgan turns to leave the ring, but Steen smashes the title belt into the back of his head! Steen leaves the ring and walks up the ramp as the camera shows Morgan slowly getting to his feet.
Commercial Break
Delirious (w/Daizee Haze) pinned Cody Rhodes after the Discus Punch in 10:16. Rating: **
Last week a very sloppy Cody Rhodes returned to the HWL and attacked Jay Briscoe for no apparent reason. Tonight, Rhodes debuted in the ring, at what looked to be less than 100 percent. Somehow, he was able to remain in this match for around 10 minutes, but the onslaught by Delirious eventually caught up with him. The Discus Punch ended Rhodes’ night as Delirious picked up the 1-2-3.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Jay Briscoe is seen bringing Peter Bradshaw into the locker room. Briscoe tells Bradshaw that everyone just saw that there’s something clearly wrong with Cody Rhodes, and he wants to prove it. Briscoe grabs a bag and dumps it out, emptying beer cans onto the floor. He drops the bag and looks at Bradshaw. He tells Bradshaw to do what he wants with that and walks away, leaving Bradshaw in the locker room.
Chris Hero pinned Alex Riley after a Blockbuster in 9:04. Rating: ** ¼
Last night, these two men eliminated each other from the Wicked Games tournament after a double count-out Tonight, they were given another shot to see who would come out victorious. Hero gave up a slight weight advantage to Riley, but as he’s shown in the PCW, he is a very persistent athlete in the ring. Riley did all he could to keep Hero down, but even though Hero was unable to hit the Hero’s Welcome, a Blockbuster was all he needed to put away the match.
Commercial Break
-A preview for the upcoming pay-per-view, Caged Rage, is shown, with “The Pride” by Five Finger Death Punch playing in the background. Caged Rage will be held, live, from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on December 15th!
Kurt Angle made Jay Briscoe submit to the Ankle Lock in 14:35. Rating: ****
Twenty-four hours after losing the Heavyweight Title to John Cena, Kurt Angle came into tonight’s main event with a score to settle, even if it wasn’t with Cena himself. Angle was looking to make someone his victim tonight and that someone was Jay Briscoe. Briscoe has had his own issue as of late with the returning Cody Rhodes. But, tonight his focus was on Angle. Briscoe looked poised for an upset after he was finally able to connect with the J-Driller, only to have Angle kick out before three. During the match, CODY RHODES appeared on-stage, and sat on the stage in a folding chair, drinking something out of a dark thermos. Rhodes’s appearance distracted Briscoe, allowing Angle to hit the Angle Slam before locking in the Ankle Lock. Briscoe tapped out, giving Angle the victory.
After the match, Briscoe got to his feet, limping, and started calling out Rhodes. Rhodes tips his thermos to Briscoe and stands up, leaving the stage, as Anarchy goes off the air.

-A highlight package from last week’s show is seen. Then we go inside the arena, where Josh Daniels welcomes everyone to Helsinki for the first HWL event ever in Finland! He is joined at ringside by Scott Michaels.
-Jay Briscoe’s music plays as he makes his way down to the ring. Grabbing a microphone, Briscoe says that Cody Rhodes has come back to the HWL a changed man. Briscoe says it’s clear what is getting into Rhodes, but he has chosen to mess with the wrong guy. Briscoe demands that Rhodes come out to the ring, so he can expose him in front of the entire world!

Commercial Break
Triple Threat Match: David Otunga defeated Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal: X S. Moore beat J. Neal via pinfall in 6:39. X D. Otunga beat S. Moore with the Verdict in 10:24. Rating: ** ½
The fans in Helsinki were treated to a first tonight – an opening Triple Threat Match that pitted both members of Ink, Inc. and David Otunga. Shannon Moore and Jesse Neal were in the ring for quite a while to start the match, showcasing their skills in the ring. Questions arise as to whether or not this match will put a damper on their partnership or if tonight’s match was good-natured in intent. Otunga periodically tagged in to take the wind of their Moore’s and Neal’s sails, but when the time was right, Otunga tagged in a tired Neal. This allowed Moore to roll Neal up for the first pinfall. Otunga and Moore then battled it out for the next few minutes, but it was evident that Otunga was the fresher man. He was able to wear down Moore before hitting the Verdict to pick up the victory.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, CODY RHODES is seen staggering into the arena. He shakes his head and takes a deep breath as a crew member approaches and says that Mr. Bradshaw is looking for Cody. Cody smirks, thanks the crew member, and makes his way toward Bradshaw’s office. The announcers speculate as to what Bradshaw and Rhodes will be discussing.
ODB and Brie Bella battled to a no-contest in 5:30. Rating: ** ½
The ongoing situation between ODB and Brie Bella looks like it will continue on after this week’s match-up. At Wicked Games, Brie caused ODB to spill the contents of her flask all over herself and the ring. This resulted in ODB using the flask to attack Brie and getting herself DQ’d. Last week, ODB issued a challenge to Brie in the hopes of finishing things once and for all. But, instead of getting a decisive winner, the referee had no choice by to call for the bell after both women grabbed a handful of each other’s hair and refused to let go. Finally, the referee was able to separate the two, and they stood in the ring screaming at each other as Anarchy went to commercials.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, ERIC YOUNG makes his way out to the ring. Young has come out to get something off his chest, and to make an announcement that will change the landscape of the Caged Rage pay-per-view. First, Young calls out Ted DiBiase – who Young tells the crowd isn’t in the building and won’t be for the foreseeable future – for grabbing his ball and running home when they were just about to break through the glass ceiling they’ve been under. Young and DiBiase were scheduled to face AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston for the Tag Team Titles on December 16th – which will still happen – just a little differently. Young then announces that he has a new tag team partner before introducing MARTIN KIRBY! Kirby comes down to the ring and says that he has come to help Young do what DiBiase didn’t have the guts to: win the HWL Tag Team Titles.
The Independents (Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino (w/Shane Hagadorn) and Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon battled to a double countout in 15:58. Rating: ** ¾
Cabana & Colon were trying to put a nice little winning streak together tonight, after an impressive victory last week. However, The Independents – led by Shane Hagadorn – had other ideas. All four men battled throughout the ringside area in this match, and there were a number of double-teams on the part of Hagadorn’s men. But, the underhanded tactics didn’t seem to work, as Cabana and Colon were able to hold their ground. Unfortunately, due to the double countout, a clear winner was not decided.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Cody Rhodes is seen entering Peter Bradshaw’s office. Rhodes wants to know what’s going on, and Bradshaw offers him a seat. Bradshaw tells Rhodes about what was brought to his attention last week by Jay Briscoe. Bradshaw asks if the bag in the locker room was Cody’s or not. Rhodes says that Bradshaw’s a fool for believing the story of one man. He says that Briscoe obviously made it look like it was Rhodes’s bag. He says that it’s clear that Bradshaw believed him because here they are. Bradshaw offers Cody the chance to clear the air - all he has to do is let Bradshaw look through his bag. Rhodes slams his hands down on the table and tells Bradshaw that this is ridiculous. He says that his family’s name is a cornerstone of this business, and to have Bradshaw think he’d tarnish that name is offensive. Cody tells Bradshaw he should be ashamed of himself before standing up and storming out of the office.
Commercial Break
Matt Morgan defeated Alex Riley by DQ in 10:35. Rating: * ¾ [Kevin Steen interfered against Matt Morgan.]
Last week, Matt Morgan made a pretty big impact on Kevin Steen’s in-ring announcement. Morgan interrupted Steen’s claim to being better than the injured Randy Orton, only to say that he would be challenging for Steen’s X-Division Title at Caged Rage next month. Tonight, Morgan was in action, taking on Alex Riley – who was unsuccessful in his rematch against Chris Hero last week. Morgan connected with the Carbon Footprint outside the ring, causing Riley’s head to bounce off the concrete. It looked like Riley would be counted out until STEEN rushed down and helps Riley back under the ropes. Steen was a constant presence at ringside from that point, and when Morgan connected with a second Carbon Footprint, Steen broke up the pinfall by hitting Morgan in the back of the head with the X-Division Title belt! Steen left the ring, smiling, as Anarchy went to commercials.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Alisha Hicks is with Heavyweight Champion John Cena. Alisha asks Cena about his confrontation with CM Punk last week, and how things are shaping up heading into their title match at Caged Rage. Cena tells Alisha that Punk might be able to claim some sort of moral victory after last week, but his taking the high road doesn’t guarantee that he will walk out of the steel cage as champion. Cena says he proved he was willing to stop at nothing to win the belt. He questions whether Punk is willing to do the same.
Non-Title Match Kevin Steen pinned Delirious (w/Daizee Haze) after a superkick in 7:26. Rating: *** ¾
A smug Kevin Steen returned to the ring just after interfering in Matt Morgan’s match. He was met by a round of boos from the crowd, but that didn’t derail him inside the ring. Against the newcomer Delirious, Steen looked confident. Delirious held his own but was blindsided by a superkick from Steen that led to the champion’s victory.
Commercial Break

Monday Night Anarch – November 26, 2012 – BMO Harris Bradley Center – Milwaukee, WI Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 9,920
-The opening video package plays. Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to Milwaukee, just three weeks away from the Cage Raged pay-per-view.
-“Cult of Personality” plays as CM Punk makes his way to the ring. Punk says that John Cena, like always, is full of crap. He says that claiming to do everything possible to win the Heavyweight Title is one thing, but what Cena did just goes to show his true identity – something that everyone else in this business tried to hide. Punk says that what everyone is seeing from Cena is the real John Cena. The one who doesn’t care about the rules or anyone else, as long as it benefits himself in the end. Punk says he’s just as eager to do whatever it takes to win the Heavyweight Title and calls out Cena to prove it tonight!
This brings out Peter Bradshaw to a mixed response from the crowd. Bradshaw says he understands how Punk feels and that he would love to give the fans Cena-Punk tonight, but it’s just not possible. Bradshaw informs Punk that Cena is always booked for the main event – against AJ Styles – in a non-title match. Punk says that’s fine but promises that Cena will see him by the end of the night. Punk’s music plays as the two men stare at each other across the arena.

Triple Threat Match Rami Sebei won a Triple Threat Match in 9:15. X Magnus defeated Otunga by DQ in 4:42. X Sebei pinned Magnus after a Discus Punch in 9:15. Rating: ** ½
For the second week in a row, we start things off with a Triple Threat Match. Otunga walked away with the victory last week and was determined to do the same tonight, but after spending the early part of the match trying to put away Magnus, his frustrations got the better of him. Otunga put his hands on the referee, pushing him to the canvas, which resulting in a quick DQ. After that point, Sebei showed the crowd that even though he’d be out of the ring for a number of weeks now, he still had what it took to come out on top. Sebei connected with a Discus Punch, stunning Magnus long enough to pick up the victory.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Alisha Hicks is seen with Women’s Champion Kelly Kelly. Kelly seems to be in a bit of pain as she stands next to Alisha. Alisha asks how Kelly is feeling, and Kelly says that she had injured her back in England, but that she has been working on getting back into shape so she can defend her title at Caged Rage. Kelly says the only thing she doesn’t know is who her opponent will be on December 16th. ODB appears on-stage and tells Kelly that she really hopes her back heals because, when she’s done with Brie Bella next week, she will be coming for Kelly’s title. ODB pats Kelly on the back – making her grimace – and walks off as we go to the ring.
Nikki Bella defeated Melina by DQ in 8:11. Rating: ¾*
Pretty even match between two Vixens that have had a hard time picking up victories as of late. The returning Melina was looking to pick up her first win since returning to the HWL, but it looks like she’ll have to wait a little bit longer. Melina wound up getting herself DQ’d for not releasing Nikki’s hair before a five-count. After the match, Melina continued to attack Nikki until the referee forcibly dragged Melina away. Melina left the ring fuming as Anarchy went to commercials.

Kofi says that a team who hasn’t wrestled together, until tonight, are going to have a hard time being the team that takes their titles.
Martin Kirby & Eric Young defeated Kazarian & Luke Gallows when M. Kirby pinned Gallows after a reverse neckbreaker in 8:40. Rating: *** ¼
Martin Kirby made his in-ring debut tonight, teaming up with his new partner Eric Young to take on a team that has been struggling in weeks past. Kazarian and Gallows were looking to pick up their first victory in a while, but no one knew how well Kirby and Young would gel as a team heading into this match. To say they surprised a few people would be an understatement. Kirby and Young appeared to be in sync from the beginning, and this took Kazarian and Gallows off their game, leading to Kirby hitting Gallows with a reverse neckbreaker for the win.
Commercial Break
-Returning from commercials, Josh Daniels is seen in the center of the ring. He says that he has asked Peter Bradshaw for a few moments of tonight’s program to get the thoughts of a man who has been in the center of a very personal situation over the last few weeks. Daniels says that he believes the fans would like to hear directly from the person involved. He calls out CODY RHODES to join him in the ring. Rhodes’ music plays, but Cody does not come on-stage. Moments later JAY BRISCOE appears on-stage with a microphone. Briscoe says he has a video of something everyone should see. A video begins playing on the TitanTron, that shows, what appears to be, Cody Rhodes passed out in the driver’s seat of his car. The video ends and Briscoe asks what could have caused a man to fall asleep at the wheel of his car – in the parking lot of the arena – unless it was alcohol related. Briscoe says that he knows Rhodes’ secret and it will only be a matter of time before everyone else does, too.
Commercial Break
Colt Cabana pinned Steve Corino (w/Shane Hagadorn) with the Colt .45 in 11:12. Rating: *** ¾ (Shane Hagadon interfered against Colt Cabana.)
Colt Cabana picked up a much-needed victory here tonight, despite interference from Shane Hagadorn. Cabana looked to have the match won by countout after hitting the Colt .45 on the concrete, but Hagadorn rolled Corino back into the ring. When Cabana attempted a pinfall, Hagadorn placed Corino’s foot on the rope, further upsetting Cabana. For good measure, Cabana pulled Corino into the center of the ring and connect with a second Colt .45 for the victory.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, MATT MORGAN is seen walking through the backstage area in search of something or someone. As he turns a corner and looks into an empty room, KEVIN STEEN attacks him from behind with the X-Division Title! Steen continues to assault Morgan before holding the title in his face and telling Morgan that it’s as close as he’ll get to the belt because he’s not taking it from Steen. Steen stomps on Morgan for good measure before walking out of the room, the camera focusing on Morgan.
Jay Briscoe defeated Eddie Edwards by DQ in 8:18. Rating: ** ¾ [Cody Rhodes interfered against Jay Briscoe.]
Earlier tonight, Jay Briscoe showed a damning video of Cody Rhodes asleep in his car inside the arena’s parking garage. Rumors were swirling backstage as to what caused Rhodes to “pass out”. It’s possible that Rhodes found out about the video and made his way down to ringside during this match. After Briscoe connected with a hurracarana and went for the pinfall, Rhodes entered the ring and broke up the attempt by stomping on Briscoe’s back. After the match, Rhodes continued to attack Briscoe until referees ran down and pulled them apart. Anarchy went to commercials as Briscoe was checked on.
Commercial Break

Non-Title Match AJ Styles pinned © John Cena with the Styles Clash in 12:08. Rating: *** ¾
When Cena made his way to the ring tonight, he and Punk shared words while Cena mocking held up the title in Punk’s face. Once the match got started, it was clear that Punk’s presence at ringside was keeping Cena distracted from the task at-hand. Cena got the opening he needed after pulling the referee in front of Styles’ top-rope forearm. With the referee knocked to the canvas, Cena and Styles started to brawl inside the ring, resulting in Cena connecting with a low blow. Cena rushed outside the ring, grabbing the Heavyweight Title. Back in the ring, Cena looked poised to hit Styles with the belt, but Punk grabbed his foot. Cena swung the belt at Punk but missed, and when he turned around, Styles kicked him in the gut before hitting the Styles Clash in the center of the ring! The referee groggily crawled over and made the suspenseful three-count. After the match, Punk rolled into the ring as Cena laid on the canvas. Punk stood next to Cena and mocked his “You can’t see me” chant before leaving the ring. Anarchy went off the air with Punk standing on the ramp yelling that he was the Best in the World.

Monday Night Anarchy – December 3, 2012 – Target Center – Minneapolis, MN Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 6,968
-A video is shown recapping the events of last week’s main event, ending with CM Punk standing over Heavyweight Champion John Cena, taunting him, saying “You can’t see me”.
-Intro video is played. Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to cold and snowy Minneapolis, just 13 days away from Caged Rage. After the events of what happened last week, there is speculation on what John Cena will have to say tonight, when or if he arrives at the arena. They also announce that tonight CM Punk will face off against former Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle.
-Women’s Champion Kelly Kelly comes out to the ring dressed in street clothes, carrying the title belt over her shoulder. Kelly says that just a number of years ago, she came into this business looking to try something new. She says that for so long she was just a pretty face – a “dumb bimbo” if you would. So, to change that, she got into the ring and learned what it takes to be a professional wrestler. She admits that it was hard, and there were times when she wondered if she could quit; but she stuck with it, and because of that, she stands before everyone tonight as the HWL Women’s Champion. But, due to some unforeseen circumstances – a back injury that just doesn’t seem to be getting better – the doctor’s have told Kelly that, in order to make sure she can live life without a wheelchair, she has to make a change. So, Kelly announces that here, tonight, she is retiring from professional wrestling and vacating the Women’s Title. Kelly says she knows the next Vixen to hold that title is backstage tonight, and she wishes each and every one of them the best luck in attaining their goals in this business. She thanks the audience for their time and leaves the ring to a standing ovation from the crowd.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Kelly Kelly is seen handing the Women’s Title to Peter Bradshaw. Bradshaw hugs Kelly and wishes her the best of luck with recovery. Kelly walks off and is met by the other women on the roster. They all hug and wish Kelly luck. ODB walks up to Kelly and offers her hand. Kelly reluctantly shakes it while ODB says that it’s a shame Kelly’s leaving before they had a chance to face each other that Caged Rage. She wishes Kelly luck in life before Kelly walks away. ODB says that there’s nothing stopping her from becoming the next Women’s Champion.
Bobby Roode pinned Rami Sebei with the Payoff in 6:38. Rating: ** ¾
Roode picked up a much-needed victory over Rami Sebei tonight in a short opening match.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, a recap of Kelly Kelly’s announcement is shown.
ODB defeated Brie Bella by DQ in 9:07. Rating: * ¼
The on-going feud between ODB and Brie Bella continued tonight, on the very same night that the Women’s Title was vacated due to Kelly Kelly’s retirement. ODB had made it known that she had set her sights on Kelly for Caged Rage, but she would have to contend with one-half of the Bella Twins first. And, Brie – not one to like being overlooked – was ready for a fight tonight. Brie and ODB took their match outside the ring which almost resulted in both Vixens getting counted out. Later in the match, ODB took the advantage and, after laying Brie out with a Samoan Drop. She then took a drink from her flash and played to the crowd. By this time Brie had gotten back to her feet, and when ODB turned around, she was met with a low blow that dropped her to her knees. The referee quickly called for the DQ, but Brie wasn’t finished. She grabbed ODB’s flask and hit ODB across the face with it! With ODB laying on the canvas, Brie poured the contents of the flask onto ODB was screaming at her. The referee had to restrain Brie and escort her out of the ring as ODB slowly got to her feet with a small cut on her cheek.
Commercial Break
Non-Title Match © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Colt Cabana & Edwin Colon when Styles pinned Colon with the Styles Clash in 5:58. Rating: *** ½
After picking up a victory last week, Cabana and Colon earned a shot to do what nearly all the teams on the roster have been unable to do as of late: give Styles and Kingston a notch in the LOSS column. Tonight, was no different, as Styles and Kingston took what their opponents gave them but continued to show why they seem capable of holding onto the Tag Team Titles for quite some time. Styles picked up the victory after a Styles Clash on Colon. After the match, STEVE CORINO and CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI made their way down to ringside, taunting Cabana and Colon – the team who beat them last week. They attacked Cabana, who was standing on the apron, throwing him to the concrete floor. Inside the ring, they double-teamed Colon. Castagnoli attempted the Giant Swing, but quickly fell to the canvas, holding his knee. Corino landed a few quick stomps to Colon before assisting Castagnoli out of the ring. They made their way up the ramp to a roar of boos as Anarchy went to commercials.
Commercial Break
-John Cena’s music played as Anarchy returned, and the Heavyweight Champion made his way to the ring. Cena blamed his loss against AJ Styles last week on the interference of CM Punk. Cena said that Punk had no business getting involved in his match, and that if Punk wanted a piece of Cena, then he could come get some. Punk came out to the stage and told Cena that, though he’d like to “get some” of Cena, he would be main-eventing tonight against Kurt Angle. Cena wanted to know what kind of man Punk was for sticking his nose where it didn’t belong. Punk said he knew what kind of man he was – the kind that keeps men like Cena from cheating their way to the top. Punk questioned what type of man Cena was for trying to use the title as a weapon last week when he knew he couldn’t beat AJ Styles on his own. Cena said that he’s the type of man who gets things down at any cost. Punk said that’s great, but he’s the type of man who embarrasses men like Cena and promised to do exactly that at Caged Rage.
Commercial Break
Christopher Daniels defeated Steve Corino by DQ in 12:59. Rating: **** ¼ [Shane Hagadorn interfered against Christopher Daniels.]
Earlier in the evening, Corino had to help his partner Claudio Castagnoli backstage with an apparent leg injury. So, he came out tonight with Shane Hagadorn in his corner – naturally – ready to take on “The Fallen Angel”. A well-fought match that had the crowd on the edge of their seats was sadly given a disappointing end when Hagadorn grabbed Daniels’ leg, pulling him off of Corino during a pinfall attempt. The referee called for the bell, DQ’ing Corino. After the match, Daniels chased Hagadorn around the ring until he was met by a vicious clothesline from Corino to the concrete outside the ring. Corino and Hagadorn left ringside as Daniels was shown holding the back of his head.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Alisha Hicks is seen backstage with Matt Morgan. Morgan said that he expects Kevin Steen to be somewhere in the arena tonight, smiling because he was able to pull one over on Morgan last week. He said that Steen can think that he’s getting the better of Morgan all he wants, but the fact is, at Caged Rage there won’t be anywhere for Steen to run and hide. Morgan told Steen to keep playing his games and see who comes out on top when the time comes to face Morgan like a man.
Chris Hero pinned Alex Riley with the Hero’s Welcome in 8:19. Rating: *** ¼
These two men have become familiar with one enough, with this having been their third match-up since the Wicked Games pay=per-view. However, with all the time they’ve spent in the ring against one another, Chris Hero has managed to find a way to bring something new to each match. Riley, looking to get back on a winning streak the likes of his from earlier in the year, has had a rough time trying to get the best of “The Young Knockout Kid”. Tonight, was no different, as Hero seemed to have a counter for everything Riley threw at him. Hero finished things off with a Hero’s Welcome for the 1-2-3.
Commercial Break
CM Punk pinned Kurt Angle with the GTS in 13:11. Rating: ** ½
Gearing up for his contest in 13 days against John Cena at Caged Rage, CM Punk stepped into the ring with the man whom he beat for the Heavyweight Title just over a year ago. Even with the threat of retaliation from the current Champion in the back of his mind, Punk and Angle put on a very impressive match for tonight’s main event. Punk was able to counter an Ankle Lock into one of his own before Angle quickly grabbed the ropes to break it up. The end of the match saw Angle attempt an Angle Slam, only for Punk to slide off his back, duck a clotheslines and hoist Angle up for a quick – but successful – GTS for the 1-2-3.

Monday Night Anarchy – December 10, 2012 – Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, NC Announcers: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 16,100
-A video package is played, showing the ending of the CM Punk/Kurt Angle match from last week.
-Intro video is played. Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to the jam-packed Greensboro Coliseum, just six days away from the final pay-per-view of the year, Caged Rage. They announce that tonight, AJ Styles and CM Punk will square off in the main event.
-Randy Orton’s music blares through the arena as the crowd gives him a huge pop upon his return. Orton makes his way out the ring and soaks in the cheers for a moment. Orton says that he’s glad to be back and that he couldn’t wait to step foot in this ring again. For the last four weeks, he’s been rehabbing his knee and watching CM Punk take his place as the number one contender for the Heavyweight Title. Orton says that he had some bad luck during the Wicked Games tournament, and it all took place in the finals. He says he’s not here to come after Punk because he knows they’ll meet down the road at some point. Orton says he’s out here for someone else that can’t seem to stop running his mouth – Kevin Steen.
Orton says that Steen came out here the night after Wicked Games saying that, even though he lost to Orton in the first round, he came out better in the end because he still had a title around his waist and Orton was at home recovering. Orton says that Steen can think that all he wants, but until he holds the Heavyweight Title like Orton has on two occasions, Steen will never be better than he is. In fact, Orton says that he’s here tonight because he’s been cleared for action by his doctors and the HWL training staff. So, Orton issues a non-title match challenge to Kevin Steen for next week. Orton leaves the ring as Anarchy goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
Five-Man Battle Royal Cody Rhodes won a five-man battle royal: X M. Maldonado was eliminated in 6:04. X B. Roode was eliminated in 19:20. X A. Riley was eliminated in 22:54. X K. Kingston was eliminated in 28:43. Rating: ****
After picking up the win in last week’s Triple Threat Match, Bobby Roode found himself in a five-man battle royal with four other superstars looking to pick up a victory as well. Roode was responsible for the first elimination, tossing Maldonado over the top rope. But after that, it became the “Cody Rhodes Show”. Rhodes, who was not at last week’s show, came out and looked on the top of his game, eliminating Roode, Alex Riley and Kofi Kingston on his way to picking up the victory. After nearly 30 minutes inside the ring, Rhodes slumped into the corner as the crowd applauded his efforts.
Commercial Break
-Returning from the break, Alisha Hicks is seen with Peter Bradshaw, who says he has an announcement concerning the Women’s Title Match at Caged Rage. Bradshaw says that, this Sunday, there will be a Fatal Four Way Cage Match for the vacant Women’s Title. He names ODB, Brie Bella, Leva Bates, and Nikki Bella as the four women taking part in the match.
Nikki Bella defeated Melina by DQ in 1:27. Rating: * ½
Two weeks ago, these women stepped into the ring against each other and Nikki walked away victorious after Melina failed to release a hair pull by the referee’s five-count. This time around, Melina found herself not even waiting for the five-count and smacked the referee for reprimanding her. The referee called for the DQ as Melina left the ring in disgust.
Commercial Break
-Backstage, Jay Briscoe confronts Cody Rhodes, welcoming him back. Briscoe asks where Rhodes has been and says he must have slept off whatever Rhodes had because he looked good in the ring for once. A brawl ensues that is finally broken up by officials.
The A-List Knockouts (Chris Hero & David Otunga) defeated Martin Kirby & Eric Young when Hero pinned E. Young after a spinebuster in 7:46. Rating: **
Six days before they step into the steel cage and challenge for the Tag Team Titles, Kirby and Young found themselves across the ring from a team currently on one of the hottest winning streaks in the HWL. Hero and Otunga, of course, are former champions as well, and they were a strong test for the challengers. Maybe too strong of a challenge, as Hero was able to pin Young after spinebuster in the center of the ring. What will the loss do for the confidence of Kirby and Young remains to be seen, but the answer will be known this Sunday night.
Commercial Break
-AJ Styles comes out to the ring and says he has a chance to beat both men that will be in the main event at Caged Rage on Sunday night. Styles says he’s already beaten John Cena, and that tonight, he’ll beat CM Punk in the middle of the ring. This brings out John Cena, with the Heavyweight Title around his waist. Cena says that Styles and everyone in the arena knows that Cena would have won that match had it not been for Punk’s interference. Punk finally makes his way out to the ring and tells Cena that, once again, he would have won a match by taking the easy way out. Punk tells Styles that, had it not been for him, Cena would have cracked him in the skull with the Heavyweight Title. Punk tell Styles he’s welcome before saying that he’s already beaten Styles – a year ago – for the Heavyweight Title. He tells Cena to watch their match tonight, because he’ll see a preview of what’s going to happen inside the steel cage on Sunday night!
Commercial Break
Steve Corino (w/Shane Hagadorn) pinned Colt Cabana after a kick to the head in 12:51. Rating: *** ½
Two weeks ago, when these two men squared off, Cabana walked away with the victory. Tonight, Corino looked poised to avenge that loss by any means necessary. Both men spent a lot of time outside the ring in this contest, and for Corino, that allowed Shane Hagadorn to land a few dirty shots while Corino distracted the referee. Give Cabana credit because he tried to fight back against the odds, but a kick to the head stunned Cabana; and, for good measure, Hagadorn held Cabana’s feet so he could not kick out as the referee counted the pinfall.
Commercial Break
-Backstage, Matt Morgan tells Kevin Steen to not loss focus heading into Sunday because, if he does, he’ll be taking on a pissed-off “Viper” without the X-Division Title.
Jay Briscoe defeated Eddie Edwards by DQ in 10:29. Rating: *** ½ [Cody Rhodes interfered against Jay Briscoe.]
Just as in the previous match, Briscoe and Edwards squared off with one another two weeks ago, but this time the results was very much the same. After a confrontation backstage earlier in the evening, Cody Rhodes made his way to ringside, obviously upset by the comments made my Briscoe. And, just six days before they are scheduled to meet inside a steel cage, Rhodes blasted Briscoe with a forearm to the back of the head as Rhodes was trying to pin Edwards, giving Edwards the DQ. Visibly upset about having Rhodes cost him a match for the second time in three weeks, Edwards is the one who pulls Rhodes off of Briscoe and the two of them have words. Rhodes slides out of the ring and makes his way up the ramp as the show goes to commercials.
Commercial Break
CM Punk pinned AJ Styles after a swinging neckbreaker in 15:31. Rating: **** ¼
After a tense confrontation earlier in the evening that included John Cena, AJ Styles was put to the test, finding out of he could defeat both participants in Sunday’s Heavyweight Title Match before Caged Rage. He and Punk have some history together, including the match that made Punk Heavyweight Champion, just down the road in Charlotte just over a year ago. Styles held his own throughout the match, kicking out of two G.T.S’s. Late in the match, Cena appeared at ringside, distracting the referee and attempting to slide Styles the title belt. When Styles stood up, he was met with a stiff knee that wobbled him. Punk then connect with a swinging neckbreaker for the 1-2-3. After the match, Punk stood in the ring, taunting Cena by holding the title in the air, as the show went off the air.

HWL Caged Rage PPV - December 16, 2012 – Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, TN Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 16,400
-A video package opened up the show, highlighting the fact that all of tonight’s matches would be taking place inside a steel cage. When the video ended, a live shot inside the arena is shown, focusing on the ring which is enclosed by the cage, as Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcomed everyone to Nashville, the home of the HWL. They announced that eight huge matches will take place tonight, before sending thing to ringside.
Cage Match Tyson Kidd defeated Edwin Colon by escaping the cage in 14:38. Rating: *** ¼
The opening match tonight saw two men vying for a win, in the hopes of moving closer to an eventual X-Division Title shot. This match was very fast-paced, and both men left everything inside the cage. Colon looked to have things won early on after hitting a Backstabber, but Kidd was able to get his shoulder up before the three count. The tide turned in this match after Kidd backdropped Colon off the cage in a move that clearly took its toll on both men. However, Kidd was the first to his feet, and he connected with a vicious Discus Punch that send Colon to the canvas. Kidd took advantage of this and walked out the cage door for the victory.
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks asked Leva Bates about the stepping into the ring with a chance to win the Women’s Title for a second time. Bates said that she has been an afterthought lately but reminded Alisha that she beat Nikki Bella for that title over the summer. Now that Brie Bella – someone that Bates considers a friend – is in the match, it’s going to be interesting how things turn out after the final bell rings.
-A video package showed the retirement of Kelly Kelly and the subsequent vacating of the Women’s Title. The video ended with the announcement from Peter Bradshaw of the Fatal Four Way Cage Match set for tonight.
Fatal Four Way Cage Match for vacant Women’s Title Brie Bella defeated Leva Bates, ODB, and Nikki Bella: X Bates beat DOB via the Superhero Kick in 13:27. X N. Bella beat Bates after a roll-up in 23:40. X B. Bella beat N. Bella after escaping the cage in 24:41. Rating: ¼* (Brie Bella won the Women’s Title.)
A first for the Horizon Wrestling League, tonight saw the first-ever Fatal Four Way Cage Match; and for all the things – the Women’s Title. The Vixens of the HWL came into this match knowing what they were getting themselves into in a match with different rules. The first two eliminations would take place inside the cage – either through pinfall or submission. The final elimination would be by escaping the cage only. The fans were shocked to see the favorite heading into this match – ODB – become the first eliminated at the hands of Leva Bates. Bates held her own after the elimination, lasting another ten minutes before being caught off guard by Brie’s distraction that Nikki was able to roll her up for the second elimination. Finally, it came down to the Bella Twins locked inside the cage. However, the anticipation was smothered after Brie raked Nikki’s eyes and tossed her head-first into the steel cage, before walking through the door to become the new Women’s Champion.
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks was seen with Martin Kirby and Eric Young as they prepared for their match against AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston. Hicks asked the two how they felt about facing a team that, since joining together, have not lost a match; and have been Tag Team Champions going on nearly four months. Young said that everybody is wondering who will finally knock down Styles and Kingston. No one has been able to as of yet, but he said that tonight things are going to be different. Neither Kirby nor Young would need to pin the champions. All they would need to do is leave them so incapacitated that they could walk through the door and win the Titles. Kirby chimed in and said that not everything is as hard as people make it seem.
Cage Match for the HWL Tag Team Titles © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Martin Kirby & Eric Young when Styles pinned Young after a Pele Kick in 15:40. Rating: *** ¼ (AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston retained the HWL Tag Team Titles.)
Since debuting nearly two months ago, Eric Young has been on a mission to take the Tag Team Titles off of Styles and Kingston. At first, that plan involved Young and Ted DiBiase. Those plans changed and DiBiase was replaced by former PCW Tag Team Champion Kirby, whom Young felt was a better partner. But, a lot can be said for a team that has won every match they’ve been in since joining together, and that’s exactly what Styles and Kingston have done. Not since The Hart Dynasty has the HWL seen such a dominant run in the tag division. Tonight, inside the steel cage, Kirby and Young gave it everything they had, but in the end, it just wasn’t enough to dethrone the champions. Styles picked up the win for his team after hitting Young with the Pele Kick for the 1-2-3.
-Backstage, Steve Corino and Shane Hagadorn are seen backstage. Hagadorn said that he was amazed at how overlooked Corino had been lately. Hagadorn asked how someone with Corino’s talent could not be a focal point of the HWL. Hagadorn said that he’s glad Peter Bradshaw finally came to his senses and gave Corino at match tonight. He said that Brutus Magnus shouldn’t get too confident, because it’s obvious who will win this match.
Cage Match Steve Corino defeated Brutus Magnus when Magnus passed out in a sleeper hold in 2:36. Rating: ***
In a match that, to most, was shocking fast, Corino took full advantage of the “no disqualification” rule by, slipping a small rag out of his trunks while waiting for Magnus to get back to his feet. Soon after, Corino locked in the sleeper hold, placing the rag over Magnus’ mouth and nose. Quickly, Magnus was unconscious, and the referee had no choice by to call the match for Corino. After the match, Corino tossed the rag out of the ring as he exited the cage to a tremendous roar of boos.
-A video package played, highlighting the feud between Matt Morgan and Kevin Steen over the X-Division Title.
Cage Match for the HWL X-Division Title ©Kevin Steen pinned Matt Morgan after a small package in 17:52. Rating: *** ½ (Kevin Steen retained the X-Division Title.)
In what could be debated as the best match of the night, it was certainly the bloodiest. Steen and Morgan battled all over inside the steel structure, using everything they possibly could to open each other up. By the end of this brawl, both men wore crimson masks and the canvas was stained with their DNA. Neither men showed signs of wanting to exit the cage, instead wanting to beat their opponent inside the ring. Morgan hit the Carbon Footprint early on, but Steen was able to kick out. Steen, in return, attempted the backpack piledriver but was unable to lift Morgan up for it. This left the champion with little option. But, with no threat of being DQ’d, Steen lowered the bar. After stunning Morgan with a low blow, Steen ran Morgan into the steel cage, moving him closer to the corner where Steen had exposed a turnbuckle. Steen rammed Morgan’s head into the corner and then rolled “The Blueprint” up for the pin.
-Backstage, Delirious and Daizee Haze were seen with Alisha Hicks. Haze told Hicks that tonight Randy Orton would get welcomed back to the ring in a way he never imagined. She promised that Orton’s anticipated match against Kevin Steen would mean nothing after he lost to Delirious tonight. She laughed manically before she and Delirious left the scene.
Cage Match Randy Orton defeated Delirious (w/Daizee Haze) by escaping the cage in 17:29. Rating: *****
“The Viper” returned to the ring tonight and, it’s safe to say, had never looked better. In what could be called a “warm-up” match for Orton before he steps into the ring with X-Division Champion Kevin Steen, he and Delirious tore the roof off of the arena. Delirious looked poised to make good on the promise laid out by Daizee Haze before the match, nearly beating Orton on a number of occasions. But, Orton – who showed no signs of lingering injury from his time away – kept himself in this match. As is common during this event, both men used the cage to open up gashes on each other’s foreheads, resulting in both men bleeding profusely. Late in the match, when it looked like Delirious was on his final leg, Haze knocked down the official manning the cage door and managed to unlock the chain keeping it shut. Haze – who’s screams could be heard all over the arena – encouraged Delirious to crawl toward the door. Orton saw this and stomped on Haze’s hand on the cage before grabbing the steel and swinging it back onto the skull of Delirious! As Haze was dealing with her hand, inside the cage, Orton stalked Delirious before connecting with an RKO in the center of the ring. Orton and Haze both scrambled to the cage door, with Haze getting their first, holding it shut. However, Orton is much stronger, and he kicked the door open, knocking Haze to the concrete. Orton, with blood running down his face, walked down the ring steps and was announced the winner.
-A video package is played highlighting the on-going situation between Jay Briscoe and the returning Cody Rhodes.
Cage Match Jay Briscoe defeated Cody Rhodes by escaping the cage in 30:24. Rating: **** ¼ [Eddie Edwards interfered against Cody Rhodes.]
Cody Rhodes made a huge splash when he returned to the HWL, attacking Jay Briscoe during last month’s Wicked Games Tournament. But something seemed different about Rhodes upon his return. He wasn’t the same backstage and his abilities inside the ring were diminished. Briscoe, over this course of time was insinuating that Rhodes had some sort of alcohol problem – even going as far as to report it to Peter Bradshaw. However, heading into tonight, there was no evidence or proof that Briscoe’s claims were true. Tonight, Rhodes had his chance to get even with Briscoe for his allegations over the past month, and to get both a win in the books and a moral victory. These two men tore each other apart inside the steel cage, and neither man was willing to quit and giving the other the satisfaction of winning. But, late in the match, that task got a lot harder for Rhodes as EDDIE EDWARDS made his way to ringside. Inside the cage, Briscoe knocked Rhodes to the canvas, where Edwards quickly grabbed Rhodes leg, pulling it through the cage. Briscoe watched as Rhodes struggled to get his hands on Edwards before calmly walking through the door and touching the concrete. After the match, Edwards released Rhodes and left through the crowd as Briscoe walked up the ramp victorious.
-A video package is played, highlighting CM Punk’s journey through the Wicked Games Tournament last month and John Cena’s victory over Kurt Angle to win the Heavyweight Title.
Cage Match for the HWL Heavyweight Title CM Punk pinned John Cena with the GTS in 19:40. Rating: **** ½ (CM Punk won the HWL Heavyweight Title.)
Over their careers, John Cena and CM Punk have been known for their ability to use their verbal skills to incite hatred in their opponents. Cena had claimed that, since winning the Heavyweight Title, he had ascended to his rightful place within the HWL, and that the fans and other superstars should pay him the respect he deserved. Punk, making his returning close to the beginning of the Wicked Games Tournament, announced that there was only one man who could shut Cena up. And, after winning the right to face Cena, Punk said he was the one who deserved respect, citing Cena’s underhanded tactics to beat Kurt Angle for the title. Their month-long war of words finally came to a conclusion tonight, inside the 15-foot high steel cage, in which neither man showed intention of escaping as this match went on. For nearly 20 minutes, both Cena and Punk tried to stake their claim as the best wrestler in the HWL. After a brutal match, which included a number of finishing move attempts, Punk was able to stun Cena with the GTS for the pin. After the match, Punk was awarded the title belt, and he ascended the cage wall. Atop the wall, Punk celebrated his victory as the event went off the air.

Monday Night Anarchy – 12/17/12 – FedEx Forum, Memphis, TN Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 5,436
-A highlight video is shown from last night’s Caged Rage pay-per-view.
-The opening video is shown. We go inside the arena, where Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to Memphis, after a night that ended with CM Punk winning his second Heavyweight Title after beating John Cena. It’s announced that there will be two Number One Contender matches tonight in Memphis. One to determine the new challenger for the Women’s Title; the other for the Tag Team Titles.
-“Cult of Personality” plays as CM Punk makes his way down to the ring, wearing the Heavyweight Title around his waist. Punk gets a microphone and says that, once again, he stands in the ring as Heavyweight Champion. Punk gives credit to John Cena for a hard-fought match last night but says that having the title just solidifies that Punk is the Best in the World. Punk says that, just like 2012, he will be starting 2013 as the Heavyweight Champion; and he will continue to be a fighting champion.
This brings out Peter Bradshaw, who congratulates Punk on his victory last night. Bradshaw says that Punk has every right to call himself the Best in the World, but he knows of a locker-room full of people who want to take that mantle away from him. Bradshaw says that he tries to put the best competitors in the ring every week, so that the fans can go home happy. Bradshaw then announces that, in tonight’s main event, Punk face AJ Styles in a rematch from last week. Bradshaw wishes both Punk and Styles good luck before leaving the stage.
Commercial Break
Tyson Kidd defeated Mike Sydal by countout in 9:23. Rating: ** ¼
Tyson Kidd continued his winning ways tonight, with a countout victory over Mike Sydal. That makes two victories for Kidd in the last 24 hours. Will he be able to sustain this type of success and move up the ranks?
-Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with new Women’s Champion Brie Bella. Hicks asks who Brie would rather face, knowing that Leva Bates and ODB will challenge each other for a shot at Brie’s title at Brutality. Brie says that she has no hard feelings towards Leva; that they’ve gotten to know each other fairly well over the past couple months. Brie says she’d be delighted if Leva was able to win a shot. As for ODB… Brie calls her obnoxious and a horrible example of what a possible Women’s Champion should be. Brie says that, if ODB is successful, then Brie will have to beat her like she did last night.

Twenty-four hours after failing to win the Women’s Title at Caged Rage, in the first-ever Fatal Four Way Cage Match, ODB – who has been turning the division on its head since arriving in the HWL – and Leva Bates, a former champion herself, did battle to see who would be the next challenger to face Brie Bella at Brutality in January. Styles and Punk have had numerous battles over the years here in the HWL, and tonight was no different, even if the Heavyweight Title was not on the line. Both men tried to get an early victory after hitting their respective finishers outside the ring, but each time they found the strength to crawl back into the ring. Inside the ring, the fight went back and forth, with both men jockeying for the advantage. Again, they both hit their finishers, but were unable to put the other way each time. Eventually, Styles found himself in control of the match and connected with a flying forearm. Punk was able to get his foot on the rope, breaking up the pin, which visibly frustrated Styles. Styles and the referee got into an argument which ended with Styles pushing the official to the canvas. As Styles stood over the official, JOHN CENA ran into the ring and smashed the Heavyweight Title into Punk’s skull. Styles hit the Styles Clash on Punk before the referee counted a reluctant three, giving Styles the win.
After the match, Styles and Cena stared at each other from across the arena, as the referee tended to Punk. The announcers sign off for the night and Anarchy goes off the air.

Tyson Kidd defeated Adam Cole by DQ in 8:35. Rating: *** ¼
The former Heavyweight Champion, Adam Cole, has found himself in a downward spiral ever since he lost the title. Tonight, he was hoping to pick up a win against Kidd, who has been on a winning streak since the Caged Rage pay-per-view. Cole had a little trouble in the beginning, as Kidd’s speed was just enough to throw Cole off his game plan. Midway through the match, Cole took over, and started working on Kidd’s lower body, trying to take away his jumping ability. However, Kidd’s reserve kept him from tapping out, and in a fit of rage Cole threw Kidd outside the ring. As the referee began his 10-count, Cole grabbed a steel chair and cracked it over Kidd’s back, drawing the DQ. Ink, Inc. (Jesse Neal & Shannon Moore) defeated Eric Young & Martin Kirby by DQ in 3:50. Rating: **
A week after earning the chance to challenge for the Tag Team Titles – again – at Brutality, the makeshift team of Eric Young and Martin Kirby stepped into the ring with the unconventional duo of Neal and Moore. It didn’t take too long for things to make their way outside the ring, where Kirby whipped Moore into the steel ring steps. While Young attempted to distract the referee, Kirby grabbed a steel chair and was aiming to use it on Moore. But Neal was able to tackle Young, rolling both men outside the ring, allowing the referee’s attention to focus back on the legal men, just in time to see Kirby crack the chair over Moore’s back, and call for the DQ. On the other side of the ring, Young gets the upper hand on Neal and whips him into the guardrail. Kirby grabs a microphone and claims that the people of Salt Lake City aren’t good enough to watch them waste their time with the likes of Neal and Moore. He says that he and Young can’t get out of this dreaded city fast enough. The duo walks up the ramp to a chorus of boos… and are passed by CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI and STEVE CORINO at the behest of Shane Hagadorn. Castagnoli and Corino pick apart what’s left of Neal and Moore, leaving them motionless on the concrete floor. Hagadorn leaves the ring, followed by his two men, as the camera goes backstage.
*Backstage, Alisha Hicks welcomes back RANDY ORTON, who returned at Caged Rage last weekend. Orton thanks Alisha and says that what he did at Caged Rage should prove that being gone didn’t cause him to lose a step inside the ring, as he put on the best match of the night. But, he’s not here to talk about what happened at Caged Rage. Orton mentions the comments made by Kevin Steen after the Wicked Games pay-per-view, and vows to make Steen eat those words later tonight.
Commercial Break
*Returning from the break, DAVID OTUNGA confronts DELIRIOUS backstage about Daizee Haze’s interference in their match last week. Rami Sebei pinned Rob Terry with the Brainbustah in 6:09. Rating: ** ¼
Sebei came out tonight, with the deck stacked against him in the form of “The Freak” Rob Terry, in a match that was surely his to lose. However, the former X-Division Champion found a way to stun Terry and lift the big man off his feet long enough to hit the Brainbustah for a freak victory.
*Backstage, KEVIN STEEN tells Alisha Hicks that he isn’t impressed by what Randy Orton did at Caged Rage. He says the only thing that might impress him is if Orton is somehow able to pin him tonight, but Steen doesn’t see that happening.
Commercial Break
Non-Title Match Randy Orton defeated © Kevin Steen by DQ in 8:14. Rating: **** 1/4
The fans in Salt Lake City were treated to a match that has been nearly a month in the making, as Randy Orton and Kevin Steen finally stepped into the ring to go one-on-one. Orton looked to still be in top form as he shocked Steen with an RKO in the early moments of the match, but Steen was able to kick out, rolling to the outside to gain his composure. Back in the ring, Steen eventually took control of the match, but was unable to put “The Viper” away. So, instead, Steen started using cheap shots and chokes to wear down Orton. Orton didn’t take this very well, and tosses Steen through the ropes out of frustration. Steen feigned having enough of the match, grabbing his title belt and making for the ramp. However, Orton turned Steen around, only to get met with a belt shot to the face! The referee called for the DQ as Steen stood over Orton claiming that he couldn’t beat Steen. The referee escorts Steen up the ramp as the camera goes backstage.
*Backstage, KURT ANGLE confronts AJ STYLES before their main event match. Angle wants to remind Styles that, tonight, he isn’t facing a Heavyweight wrestling champion. He’s facing an Olympic Gold Medalist. Angle pats Styles on the shoulder and heads to the ring.
Commercial Break
Kurt Angle made AJ Styles submit to the Ankle Lock in 13:31. Rating: **** ¼
In tonight’s main even, two former Heavyweight Champions squared off, as AJ Styles was coming off a huge victory over current champ CM Punk last week; and Angle was looking at being a cog in the wheel that is the Heavyweight Title picture. Angle and Styles put on one hell of a match, that saw both men kick out of each other’s finishing maneuvers. Angle nearly got counted out towards the end of the match but was able to fight his way back. Angle hit an impressive moonsault, and even though it wasn’t enough to put Styles away, it did help set up the chance to put on the Ankle Lock in the center of the ring. After struggling for a few moments, and having no other option, Styles was forced to tap out, giving Angle the victory. After the match, Angle left the ring and celebrated his victory.

Monday Night Anarchy – 12/31/12 – Key Arena (Seattle, WA) Commentators: Josh Daniels & Scott Michaels Attendance: 10,926
Eddie Edwards and Jay Briscoe make their way down to the ring, as Anarchy comes on the air. Inside the ring, Briscoe gets on the microphone and says that they are out to make sure that 2012 ends on a positive note. He says he’s sure that Cody Rhodes thinks he got the better of Eddie last week, when he ripped up the evidence that would be sent to Mr. Bradshaw. However, they’re smarter than Rhodes, even when he claims to be sober. Briscoe says that they made copies of all the evidence they had and still plan on giving it to Bradshaw… but there’s one thing that Rhodes can do to make sure that doesn’t happen. Briscoe tells Rhodes that, if he wants the evidence to go away and for this whole thing to be over with, all he has to do is come out and quit. Briscoe calls out Rhodes to give them his answer.
After a few moments, Rhodes’ music plays, as he joins Edwards and Briscoe in the ring. Rhodes tells them that they are going too far, demanding that Rhodes end his career for what – to not have to face him in the ring? Briscoe reminds Rhodes that he couldn’t beat Briscoe, and everyone knows why. Briscoe calls Rhodes a danger to everyone in the locker and even to himself. Rhodes says that he’s not going to give into their threats and attacks Briscoe, but is soon pulled off by Edwards, who beats Rhodes down to the canvas. Edwards and Briscoe assault Rhodes before leaving him on the canvas. On the ramp, Briscoe says that since Rhodes won’t quit, it’s won’t be long until he gets fired.
Backstage, Alisha Hicks asks TYSON KIDD about the events that took place in his match against Adam Cole. Kidd says Cole has changed ever since he lost the Heavyweight Title, and just couldn’t handled be out-wrestled. He says, other than that, Cole is the only one who knows why he did what he did.

Commercial Break
Returning from the break, Alisha Hicks is with ADAM COLE and MIKE SYDAL. She asks Cole about the comments made by Tyson Kidd earlier tonight. Cole laughs and says that Kidd is quickly biting off more than he can chew. He says that Kidd claims to have out-wrestled Cole last week, but Cole asks which one of them has been Heavyweight Champion. He says that’s the thing: as a former Golden Opportunity winner and a former Heavyweight Champion, so much of what he does gets overlooked. And, because of that, he’s going to get respect even if it means beating it out of people.
Leva Bates pinned Melina after a roundhouse kick in 8:39. Rating: ½*
After a toss loss to new number-one contender, ODB, last week, Melina tried to get back on track but was blindsided by a roundhouse kick from Bates, who picked up her first victory in quite a while. After the match, Bates quickly left the ring to celebrate, as Melina looked on in shock.

Adam Cole was in a fit of rage tonight, looking for someone to take his aggression out on. Colt Cabana and Edwin Colon took the challenge, and came out on top, as Cole’s fiery mentality led to him biting off more than he could chew. This led to Cabana hitting the Colt .45 for the victory.
Commercial Break
As Anarchy returned, CM Punk’s music played, as the Heavyweight Champion made his way to the ring. “As of late,” Punk said, adjusting the title over his shoulder, “there’s been a lot of fighting going around surrounding me and my Heavyweight Title. Mainly between John Cena, AJ Styles, and my opponent tonight, Kurt Angle. Everyone here knows about the history between Styles and I. They know about the past I have with John Cena – and the fact that, at Caged Rage, I defeated Cena to regain what taken from me! At Brutality, Cena has invoked his rematch clause, and that’s fine with me. It gives me another chance to prove to Cena – and everyone else – once again that I am, in fact, the Best in the World!” (crowd cheers) “But that’s not really why I’m out here tonight. No, you see, I want to make things interesting. And, I believe in giving everyone a fair shot if they want to take it. So, tonight, I’m giving Kurt Angle the chance – and only one – to earn himself a shot in the main event at Brutality.” (crowd boos Angle) “All you have to do is beat me tonight, and you’ll make the match at Brutality a Triple Threat Match. Though, if you don’t beat me tonight, you’ll wind up watching me beat the hell out of John Cena from the locker room!” Punk dropped the microphone, and made his way up the ramp, as Anarchy went to commercials.
Commercial Break
Steve Corino pinned David Otunga after an enzuigiri in 9:14. Rating: **
Corino and Otunga put on a solid match tonight, but Corino received a huge advantage after DAIZEE HAZE made her way down to ringside. Her appearance distracted Otunga, who turned his focus on yelling at Haze to return to the back and allowed Corino to connect with the enzuigiri for the victory After the match, DELIRIOUS made his way through the crowd and jumped into the ring, attacking Otunga. As officials rushed down the ramp, Delirious and Haze hopped over the barricade and escaped through the crowd.
Backstage, John Cena stormed into Peter Bradshaw’s office, demanding that something be done about CM Punk’s offer to Kurt Angle. Cena told Bradshaw that he put his rematch clause in place for a one-on-one match against Punk… not to have Punk do whatever he pleases because he has the belt. Bradshaw told Cena that he understood his complaint but would allow the offer to stand. He told Cena that Angle would only be added to the match if he defeated Punk tonight.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, Shane Hagadorn is seen backstage with Claudio Castagnoli and Steve Corino. Hagadorn, again, sang the praises of his charges, and mentioned Corino’s victory over Otunga just moments ago. Hagadorn said that they’ll get their answers, next week, when Neal takes on Castagnoli. The three men left the scene as the camera went back to ringside.
John Cena pinned Delirious with the F-U in 10:54. Rating: *** ¾ [Daizee Haze interfered against John Cena.]
John Cena looked impressive in this match, must to the chagrin of the crowd in Seattle. Delirious, for his part, held his own in this match, kicking out of the F-U early on, and picking up a number of near falls throughout the match. It didn’t hurt that Delirious has Daizee Haze on the outside, as she assisted her man whenever possible. DAVID OTUNGA, who fell victim to Haze’s tactics earlier in the evening, came out to the ring towards the end of the match, stopping Haze from interjecting herself further. This allowed Cena to hit a second F-U on Delirious, this time for the 1-2-3.

Orton said that he would find a way to get his hands back on Steen and take the X-Division Title just for good measure.
Commercial Break
Non-Title Match CM Punk pinned Kurt Angle after a kneelift in 13:07. Rating: ** ¾
A lot was riding on the outcome of this match, and everyone in the arena – including John Cena – was anticipating what the outcome would be. Angle and Punk have had a long history together in the HWL and they proved that they knew each other better than most anyone inside the ring. Angle looked impressive, and it seemed he had a one-way ticket to the main event at Brutality, as he held Punk in the Ankle Lock for nearly a minute. Punk clawed his way to the ropes to break the hold and would be on a wobbly leg for the reminder of the match. Punk fought back into the match and, not being able to hold Angle’s weight for the GTS, connected with a kneelift to Angle’s chin for the 1-2-3.

He says he might not have beaten CM Punk last week, but he knows he’s still one of the best wrestlers in the HWL. Angle says that he’s accepted the fact that he won’t be challenging for a title on Sunday night, but he wants one more shot at Punk to prove that he can beat him. This brings out John Cena, who joins Angle in the ring. Cena tells Angle that he couldn’t beat Punk last week and really wonders why he’s out here again asking for a rematch. Cena says that he’s the person Punk needs to worry about because he’s coming for the title that should still be his at Brutality. CM Punk’s music then hits, as the Heavyweight Champion joins the two in the ring. Punk laughs at the notion that he’s worried about Cena, since Cena was the man he beat for the title. Punk looks at Cena and says, after he beats Angle tonight, he’s kicking Cena’s ass on Sunday.

After the loss last week, in which Adam Cole’s fiery temper got the better of him, this week it seemed to benefit him and Mike Sydal. While Sydal and Magnus looked on, Cole viciously used the ringside area to physically wear down the much larger Terry. This assault outside the ring allowed Cole to pick up the victory with a flying cross body press. After the match, Cole landed several stomps to Terry before escaping the ring as Magnus entered to save his partner.
Commercial Break
Returning from the break, Peter Bradshaw makes his way to the ring. He says that every time a claim is made that any of the HWL superstars may be putting themselves or others in jeopardy, he takes those claims very seriously. In light of the evidence that has been brought to him by Jay Briscoe and Eddie Edwards, Bradshaw says he has made a decision in the matter of Cody Rhodes and his alleged problem with alcohol. Bradshaw calls Rhodes to the ring, so he can give him his decision in person. However, instead, Briscoe and Edwards make their way to the ring. They tell Bradshaw that they want to see the look on Rhodes’ face when he gets fired. Rhodes’ music hits and he joins the three men in the ring. He says that Briscoe and Edward want him out of the company – and that’s fine. There are plenty of other places that would want him on their rosters. He tells Bradshaw that he doesn’t know what so-called evidence he has, but he’ll accept whatever Bradshaw decides to do. However, Rhodes asks Bradshaw one thing: to wait and make a decision until after Sunday night, so Rhodes can face Edwards at Brutality. Edwards starts to beg for Bradshaw to decline, but Bradshaw signs the match, telling Rhodes he has six days. After that, his decision is final.

Tonight, there will be eight huge matches, including what could be Cody Rhodes’ last match, just 24 hours before Peter Bradshaw hands down his decision on Anarchy. Also, the Caged Rage rematch between John Cena and CM Punk for the Heavyweight Title.
Number One Contenders Match Matt Morgan vs. Randy Orton The feud between Randy Orton and X-Division Champion Kevin Steen started way back in November. At the Wicked Games event, Orton defeated Steen in the quarterfinals, eventually losing to CM Punk in the finals and injuring his knee in the process. The injury kept Orton out of action for a month, and during that time, Steen was very vocal about being a champion whereas Orton had come up short. Upon his return to action after the Caged Rage event, Orton and Steen finally had their rematch which ended in Orton winning by DQ. Not happy with that outcome, Orton demanded a title match against Steen tonight but was told that he would have to earn it. The man standing across from him tonight, Matt Morgan, came up short against Steen at Caged Rage and was thrilled to get another possible shot at the title. Orton and Morgan put on a hell of a match, but it seemed as if Orton was overlooking Morgan, expecting to face Steen later tonight, and this led him to make a costly mistake. As he went for the RKO, Morgan caught Orton in the air and hit him with a back suplex. A running forearm smash took Orton by surprise just long enough for Morgan to get the 1-2-3.
Matt Morgan pinned Randy Orton after a forearm smash in 8:10. Rating: ** ¼
In a recorded video from earlier, Delirious and Daizee Haze are seen talking to each other with their backs turned to the camera. Delirious looks over his shoulder and jumps back, startled. He taps Haze on the shoulder, causing her to turn around look at the camera; a sadistic smile on her face. Haze says that David Otunga is going to get what he has worked so hard for tonight… and maybe a little surprise while he’s at it. She blows a kiss at the camera as she and Delirious walk off-screen.
David Otunga vs. Delirious (w/Daizee Haze) Nearly a month ago, these two men stepped into the ring against each other during the Anarchy after Caged Rage. In that match, Otunga fell victim to the numbers game, getting distracted by a chair shot from Haze. This took Otunga’s eyes off of Delirious, who used the chair to pick up the victory. During the ensuing war of words, Otunga promised to get back at Delirious and take back the victory that should have been his from the start. But, playing mind games is what Delirious and Haze excel at, and they made sure to get inside Otunga’s head, interfering in his matches on multiple occasions in the lead-up to tonight’s match. When the bell rang tonight, Otunga was intent on fulfilling his goal of avenging his loss due to unacceptable means; but he still had to worry about what this “surprise” was from Haze at ringside. Haze revealed that surprise when she jumped onto the ring apron and planted a kiss on Otunga’s lips! The distraction allowed Delirious to get back to his feet; but when he ran into the ropes, Otunga moved out of the way, and Delirious sent Haze crashed to the concrete at ringside! Otunga grabbed Delirious and hit The Verdict for the 1-2-3!
David Otunga pinned Delirious with The Verdict in 10:37. Rating: *** ½
Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with the Tag Team Champions AJ STYLES and KOFI KINGSTON. Alisha says the last time they tried to talk, on Monday night, Eric Young and Martin Kirby attacked them from behind. Styles tells Alisha that’s what scared men do. Men who aren’t confident in their abilities to fight for what they want. Kingston says that Young and Kirby resorted to sneak attacks, trying to soften them up for tonight, when really, they just made them stronger. Styles says that Young and Kirby wanted another shot to take the titles away from them. But after tonight, there won’t be a third.
Tag Team Title Match Eric Young & Martin Kirby vs. © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston Eric Young and Martin Kirby earned a second chance at the Tag Team Titles the night after Caged Rage, defeated Colt Cabana and Edwin Colon in a Number One Contenders Match. It was clear that Eric Young was going to stop at nothing until he secured the title belts for himself and whoever his partner was. After recruiting Kirby to take the place of the departing Ted DiBiase, Young set out on getting under the champs’ skin as much as possible. Though Styles and Kingston were not seen on television much between Caged Rage and last Monday night, Young and Kirby made the best of what little time the champions did have on-screen, attacking them backstage. But, as Styles and Kingston said before their match, it appeared to only make them stronger. Young and Kirby were hoping for a different outcome this time around but facing a tag team that hasn’t lost a match since joining forces, you need to bring you’re a-game. Tonight, Young and Kirby came up short again, as Young fell victim to a spinal tap as Styles made the cover.
[Tag Team Title Match]: AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Eric Young & Martin Kirby when Styles pinned E. Young after a spinal tap in 10:01. Rating: ** ½ (AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston retained the Tag Team Titles.)
In a pre-recorded video, ODB says that Brie Bella was able to run from her Monday night in their tag team match. But tonight, there is nowhere for her to hide when falls count anywhere.
Women’s Title Match ODB vs. © Brie Bella Brie Bella became the first-ever four-time Women’s Champion last month, when she survived a Fatal Four Way match at Caged Rage. The next night, on Anarchy, ODB earned her shot at Brie for tonight, defeating Leva Bates. From the start, Brie would routinely tell anyone who would listen that ODB didn’t belong in the same ring as her, and that no one in the Women’s Division could hold a candle to what she had been able to do in the ring. This led to some very harsh and personal things being said by both women, which quickly escalated into backstage attacks as the weeks progressed. This led to Peter Bradshaw signing a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the Women’s Title. A match like this would have been perfect for ODB’s style, but Brie Bella was surprisingly prepared for what the “One Dirty Bitch” threw at her. As both Vixens made their way outside the ring, ODB attempted to swing a steel chair at Brie, but the champ ducked and ODB’s shot clanked against the ring post. ODB dropped the chair and Brie capitalized, rocking her with a kneelift. Brie made the cover on the concrete floor as the referee counted to three.
[Women’s Title Match]: Brie Bella pinned ODB after a kneelift in 7:20. Rating: * ¼ (Brie Bella retained the Women’s Title.)
In a pre-recorded video, JESSE NEAL and SHANNON MOORE talk about how Shane Hagadorn keeps running his mouth about how good Claudio Castagnoli and Steve Corino are. They say they only thing they have going for them is Shane Hagadorn in their corner.
Ink, Inc. vs. The Independents (w/Shane Hagadorn) For the past few weeks, Shane Hagadorn had been singing the praises of his charges Claudio Castagnoli and Steve Corino. Three weeks ago, Castagnoli and Corino took aim at Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore, attacking them after their match on Anarchy. Feeling slighted by the sneak attack, Neal and Moore requested a match with the former indy superstars and were granted their chance to face the duo tonight in Buffalo. In their pre-match interview, Neal and Moore made it clear that they had to figure Hagadorn into the equation tonight. Their premonition was correct, as Hagadorn did interfere against Neal, allowing Corino to hit a powerslam for the 1-2-3.
Claudio Castagnoli & Steve Corino defeated Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal & Shannon Moore) when S. Corino pinned J. Neal after a powerslam in 8:04. Rating: ** ½ [Shane Hagadorn interfered against Jesse Neal.]
Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with Matt Morgan. Hicks asks Morgan about beating Randy Orton earlier in the evening and the chance to face Kevin Steen again for the X-Division Title. Morgan says that Randy Orton had every reason to want a shot at Steen for the comments that were made over the last month. But, when it came down to actually following through, Orton couldn’t get the job done. Tonight, Morgan says that he’s going to do what he couldn’t do last month and retake the X-Division Title.
X-Division Title Match Matt Morgan vs. © Kevin Steen Last month, Matt Morgan and Kevin Steen squared off inside a steel cage with the X-Division Title on the line. Steen walked away from that match still in possession of the title belt. However, after that night, Steen’s attention turned primarily to Randy Orton, whom he claimed to be at a higher standing than. In the ensuing weeks, Orton made it clear that he wanted to prove who was better in the ring – especially after defeating Steen in late December by DQ. However, to do so, Orton had to get past Morgan, on the orders of Peter Bradshaw. Orton was unsuccessful in his attempt, and Steen appeared to be unprepared to face Morgan, as these two did battle all over ringside, eventually resulting in a double countout. After the match, HWL officials rushed down to the ring and separated the two men as questions circulated about what would happen in the wake of this result.
[X-Division Title Match]: Matt Morgan and Kevin Steen battled to a double countout in 12:37. Rating: ** 1/4 (Kevin Steen retained the X-Division Title.)
Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with CODY RHODES. Rhodes says that there’s no denying how important tonight is for him. He has a lot to prove and really only one chance to do it. Rhodes said he didn’t get the job done against Jay Briscoe last month, and he has one shot against Eddie Edwards tonight. Rhodes says that he will be a man of his word and adhere to whatever punishment Peter Bradshaw hands down to him tomorrow night. But tonight, his main focus is being a man and taking care of business as best as he can.
Cody Rhodes vs. Eddie Edwards Two months ago, Cody Rhodes returned to the HWL after a summer feud with Kurt Angle. However, the former Heavyweight Champion was different. He had become erratic inside the ring and was some people were complaining about him possibly putting their careers in danger. After enduring a very personal feud with Jay Briscoe – in which Rhodes was not able to overcome, thanks to Eddie Edwards – his life became a living hell. Edwards corroborated Briscoe’s “evidence” of Rhodes’s suspected drinking problem, turning over that evidence to Peter Bradshaw in the weeks leading up to tonight’s event. Last Monday night, Rhodes requested one final match before Bradshaw handed down his decision and was given the chance to face Edwards. Knowing how important tonight’s match would be, Rhodes appeared more in-control of his actions inside the ring. But the longer the match went on, Rhodes’s ability to remain in control began to slip away. Edwards began to toy with Rhodes, attempting to make him look foolish inside the ring, but Rhodes had enough wherewithal to stay in the match. However, Rhodes was not able to overcome his personal demons and the onslaught by Edwards, eventually succumbing to a kneelift, as Edwards picked up the victory.
Eddie Edwards pinned Cody Rhodes after a kneelift in 18:25. Rating: **** ¼
Backstage, Alisha Hicks is seen with Heavyweight Champion CM PUNK. Alisha asks Punk about facing John Cena again for the Heavyweight Title again tonight. Punk says that this marks the third time he and Cena have faced each other with main event implications; and each time he as walked out victorious. Tonight, will be no different, and at the end of the night, he will stand in the ring as the best in the world like he always has.
Heavyweight Title Match John Cena vs. © CM Punk It had been quite the year for CM Punk in 2012. After coming into the year with the Heavyweight Championship, Punk lost the title at Wrestleocalypse and spent the better part of the year trying to get back into contention after a lengthy feud with Golden Opportunity winner Adam Cole. However, when John Cena debuted in the HWL towards the end of the summer, who was there to welcome him? The self-proclaimed “Best in the World”. After an impressive victory in their first outing, Punk continued to stay stranded at the bottom of the ladder while Cena managed to work his way into a title match against Kurt Angle at the Wicked Games event. On that night, Cena would become Heavyweight Champion and Punk would secure himself a title match – inside a steel cage – at Caged Rage, where the two men would meet for the second time. Once again, Punk emerged victorious, ending 2012 the same way he started it: with the title belt around his waist. Tonight, was the third match between these two men, and Cena’s change to retake the title he lost last month. Both men gave their all inside the ring tonight, and after trading finishing maneuvers, both men seemed to be running out of steam towards the end. Yet, Punk managed to send Cena into the corner and hit a running knee that left the former champion dazed. Running into the ropes, Punk connected with a forearm smash which gave him just enough to finish Cena off for a successful title defense.
[Heavyweight Title Match]: CM Punk pinned John Cena after a forearm smash in 15:09. Rating: ** ¾ (CM Punk retained the Heavyweight Title.)

Peter Bradshaw starts off the show by walking to the ring. Bradshaw says that came out tonight because he didn’t want to waste anyone’s time by delaying what needed to be done. He says that he has spent the last few days going over the evidence that was provide to him by Eddie Edwards and Jay Briscoe concerning the well-being of Cody Rhodes. He says that, despite some personal misgivings, the evidence is undeniable. He calls Cody to the ring, and Rhodes joins him in street clothes. Bradshaw says that, based on what was provided to him, he feels that it would be best to send Rhodes to a 60-day rehabilitation facility. Bradshaw tells Rhodes that, if he does not complete the 60 days, he will have no choice but to fire Rhodes. Bradshaw asks if Rhodes has anything to say to the crowd before leaving the ring. Rhodes takes a moment before telling the crowd that the way he’s handled himself since coming back is not the way a former champion should. Rhodes promises to do what he needs to do in order to come back and get back to where he belongs. Rhodes leaves the ring as the crowd chants his name.

Eric Young vs. Brutus Magnus Last night, Eric Young and Martin Kirby tried unsuccessfully to claim the Tag Team Titles from AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston. Tonight, he was back in singles action, a week after picking up a victory in a Triple Threat Match against Tyson Kidd and David Otunga. Young looked impressive against Magnus, thanks to using the ring post to his advantage outside the ring! Magnus worked his way back into the match, using a chokehold that nearly got him DQ’d. But it wasn’t enough to put Young away, who hit a Northern Lights Suplex for the victory.
Eric Young pinned Brutus Magnus after a Northern Lights suplex in 10:12. Rating: ** ½

Non-Title Match Melina vs. © Brie Bella Brie Bella came into tonight feeling very confident after a successful title defense against OBD last night at Brutality. Brie took what the stronger challenger had to give her but came out on top. Tonight, she stood across the ring from a former Women’s Champion, Melina, who has been struggling for any constant success as of late. Being a former champion though, Melina did give Brie a fight for most of the match. But, in the end, Brie connected with a knee lift that caught Melina on the chin, allowing the champion to make the cover. After the match, speculation ran rampant as to what “good news” Brie’s sister, Nikki, had to share.
[Non-Title Match]: Brie Bella pinned Melina after a kneelift in 9:32. Rating: ** ½

Backstage, The Independents and Shane Hagadorn are seen with Alisha Hicks. Hagadorn reminds everyone that Castagnoli and Corino have been on hot streaks as of late. Hagadorn then issues the challenge to AJ Styles and Kofi Kingston to put the titles on the line at Best of the Best.
Non-Title Match Mike Sydal & Adam Cole vs. © AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston Last night, Styles and Kingston kept their impressive winning streak going with another successful title defense against Eric Young and Martin Kirby. Tonight, they stepped into the ring with Sydal and Cole, who have been gaining themselves a not-so-favorable reputation as of late. For weeks now, Cole has said that he feels slighted by the competition inside the ring, believing he should be facing top-tier talent due to having been a former Heavyweight Champion. But against a three-time Heavyweight Champion, Cole’s motives did not change. As he and Styles were brawling outside the ring, Cole grabbed a steel chair and cracked it over Styles’ back! The referee quickly called for the bell, as Cole continued to swing the chair down onto AJ’s body. Satisfied, Cole tossed the chair to the ground and walked away, as Kofi checked on AJ.
[Non-Title Match]: AJ Styles & Kofi Kingston defeated Mike Sydal & Adam Cole when Styles defeated Cole by DQ in 9:25. Rating: *** 1/2

Kurt Angle’s music plays as he makes his way to the ring, getting a booed by the crowd. Angle says that he may not have been added to the Brutality main event last night and that’s fine. He sat in the back and watched John Cena lose again to CM Punk. Angle gives credit to Punk for his determination in getting the Heavyweight Title back over the course of last year. Angle says that Punk is still trying to prove to everyone that he is “The Best in the World” but promises that it’s harder than Punk knows. Angle says it’s fitting that the next pay-per-view is Best of the Best because he is clearly the best opponent for Punk. He says he doesn’t need to go through a battle royal to earn a shot at Wrestleocalypse because, after Best of the Best, he’ll be going there as champion!
Commercial Break
Tyson Kidd vs. Christopher Daniels Last Monday night, both Kidd and Daniels had losing efforts on Anarchy, so they were both looking to regain momentum with a victory tonight. Kidd was facing possibly his toughest challenge of the past month, whereas Daniels was trying to make a claim for being a challenger to the X-Division Title down the line. These former champions put on a very good match, but Daniels surprised Kidd with an enzuigiri for the 1-2-3.
Christopher Daniels pinned Tyson Kidd after an enzuigiri in 10:25. Rating: ** ¾

Returning from the break, Peter Bradshaw is seen with Alisha Hicks backstage. Bradshaw announces that due to the result of their match at Brutality, Matt Morgan and Kevin Steen will face off in a No-Countout Match for the X-Division Title, next week on Anarchy.
Matt Morgan vs. Steve Corino (w/Shane Hagadorn) After the announcement made by Peter Bradshaw prior to this match, the atmosphere was thick with tension, as Matt Morgan had added pressure placed on his shoulders to perform well. Just 24 hours ago, Morgan and Steen’s match ended in a double-countout, clearly leaving both men with a sense of unfinished business. But that business will taken care of in seven days. Tonight, Morgan had to deal with Steve Corino, who along with Claudio Castagnoli, was coming off an impressive victory last night at Brutality. Morgan may have been overlooking Corino, as he was shocked by his opponent’s strong start. However, when Morgan turned his focus onto the match at hand, he failed to take Shane Hagadorn into account at ringside. Hagadorn interfered, tripping Morgan, allowing Corino to take “The Blueprint” down with the Sliding Lariat for a huge victory.
Steve Corino pinned Matt Morgan with the Sliding Lariat in 8:22. Rating: *** ¼

Best of the Best Qualifying Match Claudio Castagnoli (w/Shane Hagadorn) vs. Shannon Moore vs. John Cena vs. Alex Riley vs. Eddie Edwards Tonight’s main event was the first of three qualifying matches to determine the entry order for the 15-man battle royal at Best of the Best. It was announced that the first four eliminations tonight would be the first four entries into the Battle Royal on February 10th. The winner would move on to a Triple Threat Elimination match to determine the final three spots. Things started off interestingly enough as Castagnoli and Moore continued their feud from last night. This time Moore got the upper hand, eliminating Castagnoli just over three minutes into the match. But his success was short-lived, as Cena quickly toss Moore over the top rope just seconds later. From then on, it was a three-way battle to see who would earn a spot in the final Triple Threat Match. Sensing they had a chance, Edwards – coming off a huge victory against Cody Rhodes last night – teamed up with Alex Riley in the hopes of wearing down Cena. Cena struggled to take on both men by himself, but things started to unravel soon for Edwards and Riley. Neither man was willing to let the other eliminate Cena, which turned into a shoving match. Cena took advantage of this and blindsided Edwards, tossing him over the top rope as Riley looked on. For the next 20 minutes, Riley and Cena fought tooth and nail for that spot in the Triple Threat Match. Cena eventually ducked a clothesline attempt, hitting the F-U before tossing Riley out of the ring. Cena crumpled to the canvas as the fans booed his victory.
[Best of the Best Qualifying Match]: John Cena won a 5-man Battle Royal: X S. Moore threw out Castagnoli in 3:23. X J. Cena threw out S. Moore in 3:41. X J. Cena threw out E. Edwards in 15:15. X J. Cena threw out A. Riley after the F-U in 35:24. Rating: *** ½
