Monday Night Anarchy
March 21, 2011
Quicken Loans Arena - Cleveland, Ohio
Attendance: 12,340 (64%)
“Headstrong” blares through the arena as Josh Daniels and Scott Michaels welcome everyone to Cleveland; just six days before the first-ever Wrestleocolypse pay-per-view event. It’s announced that David Hart Smith will face Rob Terry, with their partners in their respective corners; and a battle royal to determine the six participants in Sunday night’s “Golden Opportunity” match.
PETER BRADSHAW made his way to the ring to address the events that took place last week, during the non-title match between Mr. Anderson and Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle. Bradshaw says that with just six days to go before the Triple Threat Match for the Heavyweight Title, he wanted to put all three participants in the ring at the same time. Bradshaw announces that tonight’s main event would be a tag team match between the team of Alex Shelley and Kurt Angle, against Randy Orton and a partner of his choosing. The crowd goes crazy as JD and SM speculate as to who on the HWL roster trusts Orton enough to team with him tonight…
Natalya vs. Sarita
Natalya came out strong tonight, in the “rubber match” of the series between these two Vixens, wearing Sarita down enough to keep her from using any high-risk moves. Natalya went for the cover after connecting with another vicious right hand - the same move that defeated Sarita at Best of the Best - but Sarita was able to kick out of the move before the three-count. Natalya then whipped Sarita into the ropes, but was taken off guard as Sarita got a near-fall with a Sunset flip. Angry about getting embarrassed, Natalya sent Sarita through the ropes, where she continued her assault, even locking on the Sharpshooter on the concrete floor! Natalya rolled into the ring, awaiting the countout, only to be stunned by Sarita rolling back into the ring. Quickly Natalya covered her, and put her legs on the ropes for leverage, as the referee counted the pinfall. After the match, Natalya quickly rolled out of the ring - to a chorus of boos - as Sarita held her back in pain, on the canvas.
Natalya defeated Sarita by pinfall in 0:08:32.

Cody Rhodes is seen walking through the backstage area, where he is confronted by CM Punk. Punk says that he was surprised to see Rhodes be the one who stepped up to answer his challenge; but that it’s good that Rhodes is finally taking the steps necessary to back up his claims of proving that he didn’t need Ted DiBiase around to be successful. Punk says that things are going to be very interesting, Sunday night, and that he wishes Rhodes all the luck in the world. Punk walks away - headed towards the ring - as Rhodes look on…
Kaval vs. CM Punk
Kaval made his in-ring debut tonight, after being a part of the 15-man battle royal at Best of the Best, stepping into the ring with a determined CM Punk. Surprising, though, Kaval was able to hold his own against Punk, as the two men battle inside and outside the ring, looking for momentum. Punk seemed to take control after the match went outside the ring, and he whipped Kaval head-first into the ring post. Back in the ring, and after hitting a Northern Lights suplex, Punk connected with the “Go To Sleep” for the 1-2-3.
CM Punk pinned Kaval with the G.T.S. in 0:06:04.

Coming back from the break, EVAN BOURNE comes down to the ring, getting a great reaction from the crowd. He acknowledges the crowd’s cheering, and says that he appreciates them being behind him since Day One; and that, without the fans, he wouldn’t have continued coming out here, night after night, trying to get himself to where he is now. He says that he feels that his time is right now… to challenger for the X-Division Title. Bourne then issues a challenge to Adam Cole for Sunday night, at Wreslteocolypse. He asks Cole to join him in the ring, so that the match could be accepted man to man, as the crowd got louder with anticipation. Bourne waited in the ring for a few minutes, before ADAM COLE and KYLE O’REILLY jumped out from the behind the barricade, attacking Bourne from behind! They continued their assault on Bourne, as HWL officials rushed down to break it up. Before leaving the ring, Cole grabbed the microphone and told Bourne that he could consider his challenge accepted; and that he’ll see Bourne Sunday night. The crowd booed as Cole and O’Reilly were taken backstage; and the camera focused on Bourne as Anarchy went to commercials.
David Hart Smith (w/Tyson Kidd & Natalya) vs. Rob Terry (w/Skip Sheffield)
Both men brought a little bit of backup with them to the ring tonight, hoping to even the score before their Tag Team Title rematch at Wrestleocolypse. Rob Terry came out strong in the beginning, paying no mind to Tyson Kidd or Natalya, standing at ringside. Terry had the slight advantage in the power match-up, but it was quickly clear that the power moves would not be enough to take down Smith, due to the constant interference by both Kidd and Natalya. As the match found it’s way outside the ring, all four men eventually got involved, brawling with one another as the referee began to count them out. Before the 10-count, both men found their way back into the ring, but Skip Sheffield wasted no time in evening the odds, throwing “The Freak” the ring bell. Terry used the bell, and went for the cover, but was only able to get a two-count, before Kidd placed Smith’s foot on the rope. Having their partners at ringside made this match more evenly matched then originally thought, and the crowd was ecstatic as the referee called for the bell after the time limit had expired. After the match, Kidd and Sheffield entered the ring, and all four men began brawling once again. Kidd and Terry made their way outside the ring, and continued to brawl up the ramp, as Sheffield and Smith stayed in the ring. Sheffield easily over-powered Smith, and connected with a backpack stunner in the center of the ring. Sheffield stood over Smith as the crowd cheered wildly. Anarchy went to commercials as Sheffield left the ring…
Rob Terry and David Hart Smith battled to a draw in 0:20:00.

PETER BRADSHAW comes down to the ring, again, as Anarchy returns. He announces that, this Sunday at Wrestleocolypse, the “Golden Opportunity” match will take place; and six men will have the chance to earn a Heavyweight Title shot at any time for up to six-months. Bradshaw says that, right now, everyone will find out who those six men are going to be. Bradshaw announces that a battle royal will take place, and the final six remaining men will move on to Sunday night, and participate in the “Golden Opportunity” Match. Bradshaw then leaves the ring and heads over to the broadcast table, where he joins JD and SM on commentary.
“Golden Opportunity” Qualification
Nine men stepped into the ring tonight, knowing that three of them would be left off of the biggest event in the HWL’s short history. They all did what they could to make sure they were the last one standing, but for Yoshi Tatsu, Kaz, and Mr. Anderson - who was sabotaged by Kurt Angle - it just wasn’t their night. After a couple more quick eliminations, the came down to the final four of: Matt Morgan, Eddie Edwards, D’Angelo Dinero and Abyss. Edwards and Abyss quickly eliminated both Morgan and Dinero, leaving just themselves to battle it out for the right to call themselves the winner. For almost 15 minutes, Edwards showed that he was not afraid to go toe-to-toe with “The Monster”, giving Abyss all he could handle. The end of the match saw Abyss try to throw Edwards over the top rope, only to have Edwards hold on and bring himself back in. As Edwards turned around, Abyss met him with a vicious clothesline that sent Edwards tumbling over the top rope, and down to the concrete. The bell rang as Abyss was announced the winner. The crowd booed “The Monster” as he stood in the center of the ring, staring at Peter Bradshaw. Anarchy went to commercials as the two of them continued to look at one another.
Abyss won a nine-man battle royal:
X O’Reilly threw out Yoshi Tatsu after a flying armbar in 0:01:05.
X Anderson threw out Kaz in 0:06:00.
X Dinero threw out Anderson in 0:06:03.
X O’Reilly threw out Styles in 0:08:00.
X M. Morgan threw out O’Reilly after a body slam in 0:09:11.
X E. Edwards threw out M. Morgan in 0:12:10.
X Abyss threw out Dinero after a belly-to-back suplex in 0:15:14.
X Abyss threw out E. Edwards in 0:027:31.

[Kurt Angle interfered against Mr. Anderson.]
Randy Orton/?? Vs. Alex Shelley/© Kurt Angle
The crowd was shocked to see COLT CABANA come out as Randy Orton’s partner tonight. Cabana had just finished a stint in the PCW, and was making his debut in the HWL. No one was as shocked as CM PUNK, who mid-way through the match, made his way to the stage, where he watched in shock as his friend teamed with “The Viper”. Cabana and Orton teamed well together, as did Shelley and Angle, essentially giving neither team an advantage. Cabana wore down Shelley by working on his lower back; even hitting a top-rope Frankensteiner, but only getting two-count. Cabana then locked on the Texas Cloverleaf, in the center of the ring; but after struggling - and not tapping out - Shelley was able to make his way to the ropes, to break up the hold. Secluded across the ring from Angle, Shelley became victim to the Colt .45, but before Cabana could make the cover, Punk began walking down the ramp, with his hands in the air. Cabana took his attention away from Shelley - and Orton jumped down from the apron - and confronted Punk at the bottom of the ramp. As Punk and Orton began to share words, Cabana turned around as Shelley connected with the Sliced Bread #2, and picked up the 1-2-3! After the match, Orton turned around in shock as Shelley and Angle celebrated inside the ring. Punk turned and left the scene as Anarchy went off the air.
Alex Shelley & Kurt Angle defeated Randy Orton & Colt Cabana when A. Shelley pinned Cabana with the Sliced Bread #2 in 0:17:05.
