I decided to go ahead and try starting up this WWF circuit that I had planned on doing for awhile now. The starting period is early 1992, the day after the Royal Rumble. Prime Time Wrestling and Superstars were the big shows back then, and Prime Time had just started to use the discussion panel.
It was a pretty interesting way to get over certain angles where Vince McMahon would host the show and four guests would discuss and argue over what was currently going on in the WWF. I don't know how well this will read, but I liked writing it out. We'll see how it goes.
Just to not leave you entirely in the dust as I start up, here is the current roster:
Main Eventers: The Undertaker Ric Flair Sid Justice Hulk Hogan The Ultimate Warrior - inactive Randy Savage
Upper Mid Carders: Jake Roberts Mr. Perfect - inactive Roddy Piper Bret Hart
Mid Carders: Big Boss Man Marty Jannetty Tatanka –has not debuted Davey Boy Smith Jim Duggan Papa Shango – has not debuted Ted DiBiase IRS Rick Martel Shawn Michaels
Lower Mid Carders: Greg Valentine Kerry Von Erich Tito Santana Virgil The Barbarian Hercules Repo Man Skinner The Berzerker The Mountie Warlord
Openers: Koko B. Ware Jimmy Snuka Jim Powers Col. Mustafa Barry Horowitz Brooklyn Brawler
Tag Teams: The Legion of Doom (Hawk and Animal) The Bushwhackers (Butch and Luke) The New Foundation (Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart) The Beverly Brothers (Beau and Blake) The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) The Orient Express (Pat Tanaka and Kato) Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) Sgt. Slaughter and Jim Duggan
Managers: Sensational Sherri (Ted DiBiase) Paul Bearer (The Undertaker) Mr. Fuji (The Orient Express) Mr. Perfect (Ric Flair) The Genius (The Beverly Brothers) Jimmy Hart (The Nasty Boys, Natural Disasters) General Adnan (Col. Mustafa) Harvey Wippleman (Warlord)

WWF’s Royal Rumble Recap:
Ric Flair is the new WWF Heavyweight Champion! He defeated 29 other men in the over the top rope Royal Rumble to claim the prize. There was quite a bit of controversy near the end when Sid Justice tossed his friend, Hulk Hogan, over the top rope to be one of the final two men in the match. Hogan seemed to take issue with his supposed friend eliminating him as he got into an argument with Sid at ringside. This eventually led to Hogan grabbing a hold of Sid’s hand and, with Flair pushing from inside the ring, it caused Sid to fall over the top rope and to the floor. With that Flair became the WWF Champion, and Hogan and Sid continued to argue with one another.
Ric Flair, Mr. Perfect, and Bobby Heenan painted the town red after tonight’s show. They even included Rick Martel, Warlord, Harvey Wippleman, the Genius, and the Beverly Brothers in their little party. Ric Flair is now the man everybody will be targeting going into WrestleMania VIII, but tonight he just relaxed and let the champagne flow.
The Mountie’s Intercontinental Title reign will go down as the shortest in history. He defeated Bret Hart for the title just two days ago while Hart was suffering from the flu. Due to this, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper was chosen as a challenger for the IC Title at the Rumble. Piper did not waste his opportunity as he won his first WWF Title in history when he hooked on the Sleeper and the referee was forced to stop the match. Jimmy Hart was irate after the match, but there was nothing that could be done. Piper is the new IC Champion, but he does have a long line of challengers coming his way, especially former champions Bret Hart and the Mountie.
The Legion of Doom were able to successfully hold onto their WWF Tag Team Titles tonight, but it wasn’t an easy task. In fact, they lost the match to the Natural Disasters, but due to it being via countout the titles did not change hands. This went as another disappointment in Jimmy Hart’s night, but there is no doubt he will be petitioning for an immediate rematch for his two big stars.
The Beverly Brothers and the New Foundation also both were able achieve victory tonight in their own respective matches. The tag scene is definitely heating up, and the Legion of Doom needs to be on their toes if they plan on holding onto the straps for much longer.
Prime Time Wrestling will air tomorrow night on USA so be sure to tune in! Vince McMahon will be hosting the show along with a discussion panel of Bobby Heenan, Mr. Perfect, Gorilla Monsoon, and Reverend Slick!
Ric Flair won the 30 Man Royal Rumble to win the WWF Title. The Natural Disasters defeated the Legion of Doom via countout. The tag titles did not change hands. Roddy Piper defeated the Mountie to win the IC Title. The Beverly Brothers defeated the Bushwhackers. The New Foundation defeated the Orient Express.

Prime Time Wrestling Stamford, CT |Jan. 20 1992 Host: Vince McMahon Discussion Panel: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Mr. Perfect, Slick Commentators for Matches: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect, Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred HayesVince McMahon welcomed us to Prime Time Wrestling which is hosted in Titan Studios at Titan Towers. McMahon then announced that Ric Flair had won the Royal Rumble and became the WWF Champion last night. Bobby Heenan took over from there saying that he knew Ric Flair was the real World’s Champion this whole time, and that it was a shame it took him having to win the Royal Rumble for everybody else to realize it too. Mr. Perfect claimed the plan he had made was perfect, and as long as he was by Flair’s side, Flair would remain champion! Monsoon, McMahon, and Slick all seem disgusted by the fact that Ric Flair is the WWF Champion. Vince McMahon said that a man who was involved in the Rumble that was eliminated by Flair would be in action next, the “Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich! Kerry Von Erich pinned Robert Taylor with the Tornado Punch in 0:02:19. Rating: * ¾ Kerry had little problems with his opponent tonight. He also cut an insert promo during the match stating that while he did come up short in the Rumble, he was looking forward to accomplishing his goal of becoming WWF Champion. McMahon brought up who should be first in line to face Ric Flair for the WWF Title. Heenan and Perfect both appeared to agree that Flair deserved a long vacation after defeating 29 other men. Monsoon mentioned Hulk Hogan should be granted a true one on one encounter to get his WWF Title back , while Slick, on the other hand, thought that since Sid Justice was the next to last person in the Rumble that he should be first. McMahon also brought Randy Savage and the Undertaker into discussion. While the men continued to debate Flair’s first title defense, McMahon said that we were going back to the action where two men involved in the Royal Rumble would be facing one another. Neither man had much luck last night, but they would both be hoping to turn things around here. Repo Man made Greg Valentine submit to the Crowbar in 0:07:14. Rating: ** Virgil cut an insert promo during the match where he told the Repo Man that he doesn’t forgive and he doesn’t forget. He stated that he would get his retribution against Repo Man for costing him the Million Dollar Championship. Repo Man and Greg Valentine put on a nice back and forth encounter. Things looked like they might be going Valentine’s way when Repo Man snuck the tow rope into the ring and blasted the metal hook into the Greg Valentine’s knee while the referee was not looking. A few seconds later Repo Man was able to lock on the Crowbar to get the submission victory. Back in Titan Studios McMahon showed footage of the match between Ted DiBiase and Virgil at Survivor Series Showdown back in November of 1991. DiBiase was able to reclaim his Million Dollar Belt when Repo Man hit Virgil with the title. Heenan thought that Repo Man was just helping DiBiase repossess what was rightfully his in the first place. Monsoon stood up for Virgil since Virgil has pinned DiBiase cleanly in the middle of the ring at SummerSlam for the belt and it should still be the property of the former bodyguard. The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) defeated The Avery Brothers (Bob Avery and Brad Avery) when Sags pinned Bob Avery with the Trip to Nastyville in 0:03:26. Rating: * ¾ After the match the Nasty Boys gave both Bob and Brad Avery the Pit Stop where Sags rubbed their faces into Knobbs’ armpit much to the chagrin of commentator Sean Mooney. An advertisement aired for WrestleMania VIII on April 5th at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jake Roberts pinned Sean Spencer with the DDT in 0:02:35. Rating: ** Randy Savage cut an insert promo during the match. Savage said that eliminating Roberts from the Royal Rumble felt good, but it wasn’t enough. He vowed to make Roberts’ life a living hell for slapping Elizabeth. He said that he knew Roberts had the Undertaker on his side, but he would find somebody more than capable of handling the big man. McMahon talked about who Savage was referring to that would help him out. Slick didn’t think there was any man that could stand toe to toe with the Undertaker. Monsoon mentioned that Hogan had done so in the past, but he would surely be going after Ric Flair and the World Title. This led into a debate with Heenan about if Hogan should be given a World Title shot against Flair. Heenan was obviously opposed to this idea. Mr. Perfect took this discussion to the Intercontinental Title scene where he thought the Mountie should be first in line to face the new champion, Roddy Piper. Perfect thought it was extremely unfair that Piper was granted a title shot when the Mountie only had a couple of days to prepare. McMahon, in turn, said that Bret Hart should be the number one contender since he never received a rematch when he lost the title to the Mountie just a few days ago. This led into the introduction for the match between Bret Hart and Pat Tanaka. Bret Hart defeated Pat Tanaka when Pat Tanaka passed out in the Sharpshooter in 0:05:22. Rating: *** Bret Hart cut an insert promo where he congratulated Roddy Piper on his victory at the Royal Rumble. He did acknowledge that he wanted to face the Mountie to win back his IC Title, but since it is Piper now holding the strap that he’ll have to go after him. Bret said that he respected all that Piper has done for wrestling, but he has put the Rowdy one in his sights. Bret Hart had his hands full with Pat Tanaka and Mr. Fuji. Fuji tried to get himself involved in the later stages of the match, but Hart was able to counter that by nailing Fuji with a left hook to get him off of the ring apron. Tanaka then missed a charge into the corner leading into an elbow from the second turnbuckle. The Sharpshooter followed and Tanaka could not hold on long enough to get to the ropes. Ted DiBiase pinned Tito Santana after a roll up in 0:11:10. Rating: ** ¾ Ted DiBiase and “El Matador” Tito Santana took it to one another tonight. DiBiase had Sensational Sherri at ringside to cheer him on, and it really helped later on in the match. Santana, wearing his new green tights, looked like he might have the match in hand when he nailed the flying forearm that he is now calling the El Paso Del Muerte. At this time Sherri jumped up on the ring apron and caused a distraction. Santana would have none of it as he walked over and grabbed her by the hair. The referee tried to separate the two, and this gave DiBiase just long enough to come up from behind, roll up Santana, hook the tights, and secure the three count. After the match Santana argued with the referee, but DiBiase grabbed his Million Dollar Belt and Sherri and made his way to the back. The discussion panel went back to discussing the Royal Rumble. Vince McMahon asked if what Sid Justice did to Hulk Hogan was unethical? Heenan and Perfect scoffed at this, but Monsoon said that it really left a mark on Sid’s character. Monsoon said it was one thing to eliminate your friend in the Rumble, but to do it from behind was cowardly. Heenan argued back that it was every man for himself and that he’d push his own grandma out of the ring from behind if it meant winning the WWF Title. Slick seemed a little bit torn, but thought that Hogan would never have done that to Sid. Perfect laughed at Slick and told him that Hogan was the most selfish man he had ever seen, and he proved it by helping Flair eliminate Sid after he was already out of the match. This all led up to Vince McMahon taking us to Sid Justice in action. Sid Justice pinned Brooklyn Brawler with the Power Bomb in 0:01:54. Rating: * Sid Justice cut an insert promo where he reiterated that it was every man for himself at the Royal Rumble. He claims to have no regrets about throwing Hogan over the top rope and that he’d do it again in a heartbeat. Sid told Hogan that he cost him the WWF Title and he would get justice for those actions. A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired. Okerlund focused on the World Tag Team Titles that are still around the waists of the Legion of Doom. Okerlund said that Jimmy Hart has already put in his petition for a rematch for the Natural Disasters. Comments aired from the LOD where Hawk and Animal both said the next time they fought the Disasters they would take care of them for good. The Mountie made Jimmy James submit to the Carotid Control Technique in 0:02:11. Rating: ** After the Mountie was announced as the victor, he used his cattle prod to zap Jimmy James into unconsciousness. Back with the panel they restarted their discussion as to who should be the number one contender to “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s Intercontinental Title. Opinions still differed on if it should be Bret Hart or the Mountie first in line. Big Boss Man pinned Barry Horowitz with the Boss Man Slam in 0:04:10. Rating: ** 3/4 Big Boss Man had a slight bit more trouble than one would have expected from Barry Horowitz, but Boss Man was still able to walk away with a fairly easy victory. Vince McMahon mentioned that everybody needed to tune into WWF Superstars on Saturday for a big show. Fans would hear from Hulk Hogan about what exactly happened at the Royal Rumble and President Jack Tunney would have a big announcement about a special event in February. Vince also brought up that we are now on the road to WrestleMania VIII in Indiana, Indianapolis. He then sent it to the WWF Champion to close the show. Pre-recorded Comments aired from Ric Flair with Bobby Heenan and Mr. Perfect by his side. Flair said that he had promised he would win the Rumble and with Perfect and Heenan by his side there was never any doubt. Flair said he was always the REAL World’s Heavyweight Champion and now he had the belt to prove it. He took credit for single handedly defeating 29 other men to win the strap, and that guys like Hogan, Justice, and Savage were just small bumps in the road on his way to victory. He acknowledged he had already started to hear the rumors about who he would be facing first and who would go up against him at WrestleMania, but he said it didn’t matter. Flair said a new era was beginning tonight and it’s the era of “the Nature Boy!” WWF Notes:Superstars this coming Saturday is jam packed! Comments will air from Hulk Hogan, President Jack Tunney, and others. Tons of rumors are floating around about the special event Jack Tunney will announce and what matches will be on the card. We all know the buildup for WrestleMania has begun, and it is always an exciting time. Lots of names have been mentioned for the main event of WrestleMania including Hulk Hogan, Sid Justice, the Undertaker, Randy Savage, Roddy Piper, and more…If Ric Flair can hold onto the title until then he will not be lacking for challengers. The IC Title and the Tag Team Titles also have a long line of challengers. The Mountie and Bret Hart are at the forefront of the IC Title picture, but the Tag Title scene is a little bit cloudier. The Natural Disasters are obviously first in line after a countout victory over LOD at the Royal Rumble, but the New Foundation and the Beverly Brothers were also both victorious at the Rumble. The Nasty Boys are also jumping at the bit. Speaking of tag teams, Marty Jannetty is still recuperating from being thrown through the glass window in the Barber Shop a week or so ago. Jannetty wants to get his hands on his former partner, Shawn Michaels, but that seems like it could still be a ways away. A lot of the guys in the locker room were shocked when it occurred and still can’t believe Michaels would turn his back on Jannetty like that. Be sure to tune into Superstars this coming Saturday as things continue to escalate heading into WrestleMania VIII!

Gotta say, I dig this concept. I'm always a fan of narrative-driven circuits, and it looks like this one will be very narrative-driven, keeping the storylines at the forefront even though most of the weekly matches are squashes.
It's also a great point in history to start from -- one that doesn't seem to get a lot of love when the "what if?" discussions are making the rounds. What if the WWF didn't chicken out of doing the Ric Flair-Hulk Hogan dream match for the WWF Title at Wrestlemania 8? Assuming that's the direction you decide to go, the most interesting part for me will not be the actual build for Flair-Hogan, which kind of writes itself, but how the rest of the Wrestlemania card falls into place. Who do Sid Justice and Randy Savage face instead? If Savage continues his feud with Jake Roberts rather than moving on to Flair, where does the Undertaker fit in? And so on, and so forth.
I'll be interested to see where this goes.

Thanks for the comments, Garth.
This is a totally new format I'm using, but it's been pretty fun so far. I didn't know how it would work out for people reading, but hopefully it isn't too awkward and hard to follow.
Yeah, 1992 was when I really started to follow wrestling (up to this point I just rented PPVs from the small grocery store). I never understood why Flair and Hogan didn't meet up at WrestleMania. Not saying it's a definite that they will here either, but it seemed like a wasted opportunity. The same can be said with several other feuds that felt like they were thrown away at the last moment. But the Rumble in '92 was my favorite PPV for a long time so I thought it would be fun to start here.
Hope I can keep you reading!

The format is pretty interesting, and hopefully you can keep up with it. I've always found in my experience that it's tough doing a circuit that focuses on so many squashes because though I know why they were effective in real life, on paper the matches themselves are a boring read. I'm still debating how I want to do tv when it starts in GCW.
But for now, I enjoy this and am interested in what twists you put on the product.

You've done a great job of capturing or recapturing the feeling of the shows back then. The insert promos during the squash matches, the commentators etc. The HBK plate glass moment was one of the most important turning points in "modern" wrestling history. What an underated and exciting point in WWF history. However, it was shortly after this that the WWF really got into the doldrums until it broke out in 96. Hopefully your circuit will hold up better! Looking forward to more.

Thanks, Ryan. It's hard to do a realistic fed without the squashes, but you're right that it is hard to keep it interesting. Hopefully I can keep people reading, but I do have to say I've been enjoying writing it so far which is the most important thing. As for twists, there will be a few. You will see them especially as the weeks progress. Jack: Thanks for the comments! I've been rewatching some Prime Time from that era, and I really got into the format. Glad to see it's coming across on the page as recapturing that time period. The Rockers break-up could easily be considered the starting point of the New Generation. That along with Bret Hart defeating Ric Flair later on in the year for the title were huge turning points for the WWF. Hopefully I won't hit some of the boring aspects of the '90s, but I do like the occasional crappy gimmick.

I seriously can't believe I've never looked this up, but: What was the reason they kept out Jannetty out for so long? Was he legit hurt, or contract issues? If you think about it, that was an over the top heel turn for the time (at least the glass part, not so much the superkick.)

Marty Jannetty was released from the WWF in March 1992 without ever having returned to TV after Shawn Michaels betrayed him, presumably for the well-documented substance abuse problems that have gotten him fired so many, many times. He didn't get re-hired until the end of that year.

Superstars! Daytona Beach, FL | Jan. 25 1992 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect[/b] Vince McMahon welcomed everybody to this week’s edition of Superstars! Mr. Perfect doesn’t let McMahon speak very long before he starts raving about Ric Flair’s Royal Rumble victory. McMahon acknowledges that the WWF does have a new World’s Champion and his name is Ric Flair. This leads into a replay of Flair’s comments from the end of Prime Time Wrestling. McMahon also announced that the feature bout tonight would involve Shawn Michaels and Bushwhacker Butch. This will be Michaels’ first one on one match since throwing Marty Jannetty through the glass window at the Barber Shop. Perfect mentioned that President Jack Tunney has a major announcement about a WWF event in February. And they both discussed the most important aspect of today’s show where Hulk Hogan will comment on what happened at the Royal Rumble involving him and Sid Justice. Skinner pinned Mickey Jay with the Gatorbreaker in 0:02:02. Rating: * 1/4 (Rick Martel no-showed.) After the match Skinner spit a big wad of chewing tobacco onto Mickey Jay’s face. Vince McMahon sent it to President Tunney’s office where he was sitting behind a desk. Tunney announced that he had just finished negations with NBC to air a special edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event on February 29th, Leap Day! He promised a card that would be full of action and that he was already in negotiations for the headline match. He also mentioned that he understands that Ric Flair needs an opponent for WrestleMania VIII and that this match he is working on will have something to do with who Flair will face. He hoped that he would able to reveal some of the matches for this special night next week on Superstars. Mr. Perfect seemed a little upset when it was sent back to the announcer’s podium. He demanded he be told what Tunney had planned for Saturday Night’s Main Event and who would be involved in deciding Flair’s opponent at WrestleMania. McMahon said he had no idea, but he knew that Tunney would make a good decision. Perfect stated that Heenan and Flair would be furious when they heard the news. The New Foundation (Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart) defeated The Executioners (Executioner #1 and Executioner #2) when O. Hart pinned Executioner #1 with the Rocket Launcher in 0:03:22. Rating: ** 1/4 The New Foundation continued their winning ways with a victory here on Superstars. Owen Hart told the camera after the match that they were coming for the Tag Team Titles. The Funeral Parlor was next where Jake Roberts was the guest of Paul Bearer. Roberts told the crowd that he had never received such a thrill as when he slapped Elizabeth across her pretty face. He claimed the next time he may not be able to stop himself with just a slap, however, and a DDT might just be in order. Roberts then laughed it off and said that Savage and Elizabeth should trust that he could never do such a thing to a woman. Roberts discussed the alliance he had formed with the Undertaker and Paul Bearer to put Savage six feet under. He promised he would look in on Elizabeth after Savage is good and buried. IRS pinned DD Russell with the Write-Off in 0:02:06. Rating: ** An advertisement aired for WrestleMania VIII on April 5th at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. A promo for the newcomer Tatanka aired. Tatanka was outside in the wilderness where he spoke about how he draws power from the earth, the trees, and the water. Through this he would show just what his people are capable of in the ring. He then let out a war cry which echoed through the mountains. WWF Update! aired with “Mean” Gene Okerlund. Okerlund discussed the Rockers breakup that happened when Shawn Michaels threw Marty Jannetty through the glass window. Okerlund said that anybody that wants to send get well wishes to Jannetty can send them to Titan Towers. He mentioned that the man about to speak had something to say about Michaels’ actions. Tito Santana cut a promo on Shawn Michaels and the way he turned his back on Marty Jannetty. Santana claimed that he too was turned on by a close friend a long time ago. He mentioned Strike Force and Rick Martel walking out on him to be beaten down. He said he knew how it felt to be in Marty Jannetty’s shoes and it sickened him to hear Michaels bragging about it to the boys in the back. Santana promised that he would get revenge for Jannetty and dish out the punishment that Michaels deserved. Before the next match McMahon and Perfect discussed the breakup of the Rockers. Perfect sided with Shawn Michaels and that Marty Jannetty was just holding him back. McMahon seemed to think that Michaels had lost his mind to turn his back on his long time friend. Perfect brought up the point that they had never won the World Tag Team Titles and that Jannetty was to blame. This, of course, led into our next match where the number one contenders to those tag titles, the Natural Disasters, would be in action. The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) defeated The Avery Brothers (Bob Avery and Brad Avery) when Earthquake pinned Bob Avery with the Earthquake Vertical Splash in 0:01:56. Rating: * 3/4 The Natural Disasters with Jimmy Hart cut an insert promo during their match. Earthquake said that what they did to LOD at the Royal Rumble was just a small example of what they had in store for them the next time they met in the ring. Typhoon recognized the power of Hawk and Animal, but said that even their power cannot withstand the power of two Natural Disasters. Jimmy Hart promised LOD that he was already talking to Jack Tunney and they’d be back in the LOD’s faces soon. The match was an easy squash for the Disasters. They never let either of the Avery Brothers get in a bit of offense before they finished Bob Avery with a splash from Typhoon and the Earthquake Vertical Splash of Earthquake. Pre-recorded comments aired from the new Intercontinental Champion, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Piper commented on how great it felt to finally be a WWF Champion. He said he had worked his entire life to become champion and he would fight anybody that wants a crack at him. He knew that Bret Hart and the Mountie would be gunning for him, but the only way they would take his title from his cold, dead fingers. Vince McMahon thought the fact that Piper wanted to be a fighting champion was honorable. Mr. Perfect said that he would believe it when he sees it, but McMahon said that Piper had already agreed to a title defense on Prime Time Wrestling! “Rowdy” Roddy Piper versus the Barbarian for the Intercontinental Title has been signed for this Monday’s edition of Prime Time Wrestling! Perfect called Piper an idiot for agreeing to a title defense so early into his reign, especially against a brute like the Barbarian. Davey Boy Smith pinned Col. Mustafa with the Running Powerslam in 0:05:12. Rating: * ½ “The British Bulldog” really took it to Col. Mustafa in their bout. Mustafa used his experience to control the middle part of the match with some chinlocks and an abdominal stretch, but Davey Boy was eventually able to power out of these holds. A delayed suplex was followed up by the Running Powerslam, and Davey Boy got the three count. General Adnan tried to break up the pinfall, but he was just too slow getting into the ring. After the match Davey Boy Smith waved the UK flag as the crowd cheered him on. Hulk Hogan joined “Mean” Gene Okerlund up on the interview podium to discuss the Royal Rumble. Hogan said he’d been asked time and again about what happened at the Rumble, and his response is that it was every man for himself. Hogan claimed Sid took the cowardly way out by eliminating him from behind and so he got his payback by eliminating Sid. He said he was willing to let bygones be bygones and still be friends if Justice was man enough to look him in the eye after what he did at the Rumble. He proceeded to talk about the new champion, Ric Flair. Hogan told Tunney to sign the match that everybody wanted to see, Hogan versus Flair for the WWF Title! Hogan said he would whip Flair like the dog that he is and win back what is rightfully his, the WWF Title. He finished by asking Flair “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you, brother?!” Shawn Michaels pinned Bushwhacker Butch with the Teardrop Suplex in 0:05:23. Rating: ** Shawn Michaels, in his new black and white tights, showed his new attitude early on in the match. Michaels pushed Butch into the corner, but instead of letting him out with a clean break he nailed Butch with a barrage of punches. Not to mention that when the referee went to pull Michaels away Shawn poked a thumb into Butch’s eye. This would go on for several minutes as Shawn used every underhanded tactic in the books, including using the ropes for some extra leverage on a figure-four leglock. Butch did make a comeback much to the crowd’s delight, but telegraphed a backdrop which allowed Michaels to side-step him and execute a devastating variation of a back suplex that he calls the Teardrop Suplex. Butch had no way of kicking out of that. After the match Michaels continued to put the boots to Butch. Vince McMahon expressed his outrage at Michaels’ actions as the crowd really let Michaels have it with boos. Bushwhacker Luke made the save for his partner, but once he turned his back on Michaels he too was ambushed. Michaels nailed Luke with a superkick to put him down on the mat. Michaels started to pose a bit for the crowd until Tito Santana charged down to the ring! Michaels quickly bailed out of there as Santana checked on the fallen Bushwhackers. Santana threatened Shawn Michaels from the ring while Shawn just smiled back. Vince McMahon could not believe that this was the same Shawn Michaels that had once been a part of the Rockers. Perfect said it is just a matter of time before boys turn into men, and it looked like Michaels just turned the corner. McMahon told everybody to tune in to Prime Time Wrestling where Saturday Night’s Main Event would be discussed and the featured match will be “Rowdy” Roddy Piper defending his Intercontinental Title against The Barbarian. WWF Notes: There will be a special Saturday Night’s Main Event heading into WrestleMania VIII. On Saturday, February 29th the WWF will be on NBC! Make sure to keep the date open as President Tunney has said that on that night we will find out who will be facing Ric Flair for the WWF Title at WrestleMania! It looks like Hulk Hogan blames Sid Justice just as much as Justice blames Hogan for what happened at the Royal Rumble. Hopefully these two can work things out and continue on with their friendship. Jake Roberts and the Undertaker are quite possibly the scariest alliance in WWF history. “Macho Man” Randy Savage is in serious trouble when they all meet up with one another. Savage better have had somebody in mind when he said he would get somebody to deal with the Undertaker. Be sure to tune in to Prime Time Wrestling this coming Monday for more details on all the happenings of the WWF!

Organization I am familiar with, time period I am semi-familiar with, wrestlers I am mostly familiar with, and booker/writer who does good work? Promising.
Interested to see how the new format works out.
Funny that last year we had a bunch of WCW circuits and now we have a bunch of WWF ones. (Need to get around to picking up where I left off with WCW97.)

Yeah, I've always found WWF easier to write, and it is my favorite era (hence WCW being in 1992 as well).
Thanks for the comments, Liller, and I do look forward to seeing your WCW circuit resurrected.

Prime Time Wrestling Stamford, CT |Jan. 27 1992 Host: Vince McMahon Discussion Panel: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Mr. Perfect, Slick Commentators for Matches: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect, Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred HayesVince McMahon welcomed us all to this week’s edition of Prime Time Wrestling. He introduced the discussion panel of Monsoon, Heenan, Perfect, and Slick and then immediately went into the fact that President Tunney had announced that there will be a Saturday Night’s Main Event on February 29th. Monsoon talked about how on that show it will be decided who will go up against the World Champion, Ric Flair, at WrestleMania VIII. Heenan thought he should be on the committee that decides who is involved in this match. When Slick pressed Heenan as to who he thought should be in a number one contenders match, Heenan responded that he thought the Brooklyn Brawler should be given the shot since he had never had an opportunity to face the champion before. Monsoon, Slick, and McMahon all laughed off the idea while Perfect completely agreed with Heenan. McMahon made it clear that Tunney would be announcing the number one contenders match on this week’s episode of Superstars! Perfect brought up the idea that maybe it should be himself in the match. This led to Monsoon bringing up the fact that under Mr. Perfect’s current contract he would not be able to compete in a WWF ring while he continued to earn money as Flair’s executive consultant. Perfect shook it off and said he had forgotten about that little stipulation. McMahon tried to pry at Perfect, but Heenan would have none of it as he told McMahon to shut up. McMahon took it all in stride as he introduced the opening match for tonight’s show. Koko B. Ware pinned Kenny Kendall with the Ghostbuster in 0:03:15. Rating: * 1/2 An advertisement aired for WrestleMania VIII on April 5th at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Beverly Brothers (Beau Beverly and Blake Beverly) defeated Pete Sanchez and Jim Cooper when Blake pinned Cooper with the Shaker Heights Spike in 0:03:19. Rating: * 3/4 The Beverly Brothers and the Genius cut an insert promo during their match. The Genius said that he saw on Superstars! that the New Foundation seemed to think they were in line for a Tag Team Title shot. He made sure that Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart knew that they were an undeserving pair of punks. Blake said that the New Foundation would have to climb the ladder to get a shot at the tiles, and Beau stated that they were directly in their way. Vince McMahon asked the panel who they all thought should be next in line for a Tag Team Title shot against the Legion of Doom. Surprisingly enough, the entire panel agreed that it should be the Natural Disasters. Heenan and Perfect seemed to be the only two who actually thought the Disasters would win the straps, however. Slick thought that the LOD was just too strong, and Monsoon commented on how Hawk and Animal aren’t given enough credit for their intelligence in the ring. Heenan laughed hysterically at Monsoon as McMahon brought us to our next match. Greg Valentine defeated Mike Casey when Casey passed out in the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:02:47. Rating: ** WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired with Okerlund talking about the current feud that exists between Randy Savage and Jake Roberts that also involves the Undertaker. Clips were shown of Jake Roberts’ snake biting Randy Savage’s arm and also of Roberts slapping Elizabeth across the face. Another clip was then shown of Savage eliminating Roberts from the Royal Rumble. Okerlund said that Roberts had also formed an alliance with the Undertaker and Paul Bearer, but Randy Savage had promised to find someone to help him deal with the Undertaker. Okerlund sent it to some comments from the Undertaker and Paul Bearer. Paul Bearer spoke about how no man could stand up to the power of the Undertaker, and that he can feel Randy Savage’s soul becoming blacker and blacker as the days go by. He said that the Undertaker and Jake Roberts will pull Savage’s heart and soul through hell before the Undertaker ends his misery and buries him. The Undertaker told Savage that he would make sure that he rests in peace. Randy Savage pinned Terry Davis with the Flying Elbowdrop in 0:02:48. Rating: * ¼ Randy Savage, sans Elizabeth, had little trouble defeating his opponent here tonight, but after the match Savage took it one step further. Savage climbed back up to the top rope, and despite the referee’s warnings, Savage dropped another Flying Elbow onto the chest of Terry Davis. Savage then screamed into the camera that he was coming to get Jake Roberts. The discussion panel started talking about Randy Savage and his feud with Jake Roberts and the Undertaker. Heenan was pretty sure that Savage had gone insane and needed to be put into an asylum. Monsoon said he almost felt a little bit of pity for Roberts and the Undertaker once Savage got a hold of them because he knew that neither man would be able to walk out of the arena. Perfect questioned if Monsoon had ever seen the Undertaker in action, and that the more likely result was Savage lying unconscious and being put in a body bag. McMahon stated that President Tunney could only keep these men apart for so long and that a match would have to be signed sooner rather than later. McMahon brought us to a non-title match that would see LoD in action. Non-Title Match: The Legion of Doom (Hawk and Animal) defeated Ray Hammer and Barry Horowitz when Hawk pinned Horowitz with the Doomsday Device in 0:02:08. Rating: * ¾ The Legion of Doom cut an insert promo during their match. Animal said it didn’t matter how strong or what size the team they faced was, they were a two man wrecking machine. Hawk promised that they would throw Earthquake and Typhoon around like the trash they were. Animal said they worked for far too many years to give up their Tag Titles to a pipsqueak like Jimmy Hart. A promo aired for newcomer Tatanka. Tatanka promised to bring the power from his tribe into the WWF. He said that in the same vein of men like Wahoo McDaniel and Chief Jay Strongbow, he will run wild through the WWF and show the world what a true Native American is capable of! Vince McMahon mentioned that Tatanka would be making his in ring debut this weekend on Superstars! Perfect thought he was setting the bar a little too high if he thought he could compete at the same level as McDaniel or Strongbow. Slick said he had actually scouted Tatanka, and he was very impressed with what he was capable of in the ring. Monsoon noted that from his personal experience that a person from Native American descent can be very formidable in the ring. The discussion then moved on to Hulk Hogan’s comments from Superstars! where Hogan said he would be willing to let bygones be bygones. Monsoon and Slick both thought it was the commendable thing to do while Heenan said Justice would be forever known as a chump if he agreed to that. Perfect said that if it weren’t for Hogan that Sid Justice could be WWF Champion right now. Heenan quickly corrected Perfect in stating that if it wasn’t for Hogan AND Ric Flair that Justice might be champion. McMahon wondered again if because Sid was the last person eliminated in the Royal Rumble that it might be him getting the shot at Ric Flair at WrestleMania VIII? This led into Sid Justice being in action against Skinner in one of the feature bouts of the evening. Sid Justice pinned Skinner with the Power Bomb in 0:04:13. Rating: * ¾ Skinner ambushed Sid Justice as he was entering the ring. From there Skinner tried with all his might to keep control of the match, but Justice was just too strong. Eventually Justice just brushed off Skinner’s offense and slammed him with the mat with a choke slam. Several moves later and Skinner was dropped with the Power Bomb. Skinner had no chance of kicking out of that. After the match the crowd chanted “Sid!” while Justice walked around the ring putting his hand to his ear (ala Hulk Hogan). Another WWF Update! aired with “Mean” Gene Okerlund. Okerlund talked about Marty Jannetty. He revealed that Jannetty is now at home and is still nursing his wounds from the heinous attack by Shawn Michaels a few weeks back. He iterates that if you want to send any get well wishes that they can be sent to WWF studios. He also showed clips from the last episode of Superstars! where Shawn Michaels tried to put the Bushwhackers on the shelf. The clip also showed “El Matador” Tito Santana making the save and then Santana’s comments on how he promised to get revenge for Marty Jannetty. Okerlund revealed that on Superstars! this weekend Santana will team with the Bushwhackers to face Shawn Michaels and the Nasty Boys. Rick Martel made Louie Spiccoli submit to the Boston Crab in 0:02:50. Rating: * After the match Martel sprayed his bottle of “Arrogance” on the fallen body of Louie Spiccoli and mimed that Spiccoli stank. Virgil’s feud with the Repo Man was brought up by Vince McMahon. Heenan still sided with the Repo Man stating that Repo was just repossessing what rightfully belonged to Ted DiBiase. Monsoon threw a fit as he said Virgil was robbed of something he had worked so hard to obtain. Perfect told Monsoon that since Virgil had trained with Roddy Piper that he doubted he had worked very hard. McMahon said that Virgil would have his hands full in his match tonight as he would be going one on one with Mr. Fuji’s Kato. Virgil defeated Kato when Kato passed out in the Million Dollar Dream in 0:05:49. Rating: ** 3/4 Repo Man cut an insert promo where he told Virgil that he should learn that what’s his is his and what’s Virgil’s is his also. Repo told Virgil to watch his back because you never know when the Repo Man will come to collect something that’s not rightfully theirs. Mr. Fuji tried his best to lead his man to victory, but Virgil was a house of fire tonight. Every night Virgil goes out there looking like he has something to prove and tonight was no different. Kato controlled most of the match but he did miss a charge into the corner, and Virgil has perfected the Million Dollar Dream and once he locked it in as Kato staggered backwards there was no escape. Discussion moved to the Intercontinental Title and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. All five men talked about Piper wanting to be known as a fighting champion. McMahon mentioned that Piper would be defending his IC Title in the next match on Prime Time against the Barbarian. Perfect thought it was foolish of Piper to already be defending his title after he won it just a week ago at the Royal Rumble. Monsoon thought it was nice to finally see somebody want to defend his title as often as possible. Slick questioned why the Barbarian was getting the shot instead of the Mountie or Bret Hart? Heenan said that there were rumblings in the back that somebody else had his eye on the IC Title and he was willing to pay whatever the cost. McMahon had heard enough and sent it to the ring for Piper’s first IC Title defense. Roddy Piper defeated The Barbarian by disqualification in 0:07:36. Rating: 1/4* (Roddy Piper retained the WWF Intercontinental Title.) The Barbarian and Roddy Piper had a real slugfest here tonight with neither man giving an inch. After a few minutes it seemed like both men forgot they were fighting for the IC Title as they took turns just slugging it out. Things escalated too far when they both fell to the outside, and the Barbarian grabbed a chair from ringside. Barbarian proceeded to stab Piper in the gut with the chair before crashing it across his back. The referee had no choice but to call for the bell. The Barbarian continued his vicious attack by walloping Piper with the chair a few more times before he left him lying. The Barbarian appeared to not care that he lost his opportunity at the belt, but things became a little bit clearer as he walked back up the aisle and was met by the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase! DiBiase handed the Barbarian a wad of cash and laughed it up as Piper continued to roll around in pain. Back in the WWF studios Vince McMahon demanded to know what Heenan knew about this attack. “The Brain” simply said he had heard a few things and knew that DiBiase was wanting more championship gold than just the Million Dollar Belt. Slick called DiBiase’s antics heinous and despicable while Perfect thought that it was a great way to get Piper’s attention. Monsoon pondered where this would all lead with all these challengers for the IC Title around. McMahon announced that due to what happened with the Barbarian, Piper, and DiBiase that a tag team match had been signed for next week’s feature match. It will be Ted DiBiase teaming with the Barbarian to face “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Bret “the Hitman” Hart! McMahon also said that Ric Flair would be in action next week as he would defend his WWF Title against a man who won his match here tonight, Koko B. Ware! Heenan and Perfect both started to argue with McMahon as the show came to a close. WWF Notes: Be sure to tune into WWF Superstars! this weekend where we will find out who exactly how Jack Tunney will decide on the number one contender for the WWF Title. Shawn Michaels will be in action as he teams with the Nasty Boys to face the Bushwhackers and Tito Santana! Don’t forget that on February 29th there will be a special edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC! Jack Tunney has already said he will announce a major match for the show on this week’s Superstars! And next week on Prime Time Wrestling Ted DiBiase will team with the Barbarian to face Roddy Piper and Bret Hart! Ric Flair will also be defending his WWF Title against Koko B. Ware. This is definitely a show you do not want to miss!

I enjoy this very much.
DiBiase going for the IC Title is - pun intended - money.
Keep this up, friend bear.

I had no idea I'd made it up to 'friend bear' status. I thought I was still at 'friend koala'....this makes me a happy camper.
Thanks for the comments, Ryan.

Good stuff. I Skinner vs Sid Justice I literally just watched on you tube the other day randomly. Here is a question, do you have an export pack of all these jobbers? I'm always on the lookout.

Good stuff. I Skinner vs Sid Justice I literally just watched on you tube the other day randomly. Here is a question, do you have an export pack of all these jobbers? I'm always on the lookout. I think I've seen that match too. I was never a big Sid fan except for the early '90s in WCW and WWF. He scared the crap out of me when I was 8-9. The jobbers are pretty much a basic export with the names changed for various wrestlers. Some of the lower mid-card guys like Kato, Brooklyn Brawler, and such I have, but the other guys are all pretty straight forward. I just go through old results and pull out the names of jobbers of that era.

I like the sports show feel you get from various people commentating on matches, booking, etc. I kinda enjoyed your WCW circuit more, but I'll probably get into this one as well. The booker is still the same, excellent booking bear.

Repo Man was always a guilty pleasure of mine, and Skinner was kind of fun too. Steve Keirn was always a "good hand". Good tag team match set up for next week, and good job of making us think for a few seconds that Koko has a chance against Ric Flair. Enjoyable read.

Rey:
Yeah, the WCW was a lot more in depth than what I have going here. Hopefully that changes eventually. It does make me happy to know I've been upgraded to 'friendly booking bear' by you and Ryan.
Jack:
Yeah, I actually liked Repo Man too back in the day. He sure didn't get much of a push. Skinner was so-so, but I liked Keirn in Badd Attitude with Bobby Eaton in WCW (mid '90s).
Thanks for the comments! And Koko just might be the next champion of the world!

Superstars! Daytona Beach, FL | Feb. 1 1992 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Mr. PerfectVince McMahon welcomed everybody to today’s edition of Superstars! McMahon quickly ran down the lineup of today’s show including the feature match between Shawn Michaels and the Nasty Boys going up against the Bushwhackers and “El Matador” Tito Santana. Perfect said it was great to see Michaels finally coming into his own as a real competitor in the WWF. McMahon obviously disagreed with Perfect, but admitted that he couldn’t argue with results. Perfect also mentioned that later tonight President Jack Tunney would speak out from his office as to just who will go on to WrestleMania VIII to face Ric Flair for the WWF Title. Perfect talked about how unfair it was for Ric Flair to be forced into defending his title and having no say in the matter. Vince McMahon, however, knew that Tunney would make the right decision. With that Vince sent it to the ring for the opening match. The Orient Express (Kato and Pat Tanaka) defeated Kevin Katlin and Scott Colantonio when Kato pinned Katlin with the Kamikaze Plex in 0:03:05. Rating: ** Sgt. Slaughter and Jim Duggan cut an insert promo during the match. Slaughter said he was on the mission of his life and that was to win back the love of his country. He would do so by running everybody out of the WWF that didn’t love the USA. Slaughter told Mr. Fuji to either learn to love it or leave it. Duggan let out a loud “HOOO!!!” to end the promo. A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired where he discussed the current situation involving the Intercontinental Title. Clips were shown from Monday’s Prime Time Wrestling where it appeared that Ted DiBiase had paid the Barbarian off to deliver a beating to Roddy Piper. Okerlund then sent it to comments from “the Million Dollar Man” himself, Ted DiBiase along with “Sensational” Sherri. DiBiase claimed that he had lived his entire life by the motto that every man has a price. He proved that by buying off the Barbarian. He said that the Million Dollar Belt was going back up in his trophy case as he is retiring the belt as the one and only true champion that ever held the strap. He said he could now focus on putting each and every other WWF Title in his trophy case, starting with the IC Title. He told Roddy Piper that no expense is too great for championship gold even if the price is Roddy’s head. Sherri caressed DiBiase’s waist as “the Million Dollar Man” did his typical laugh. Okerlund said that Roddy Piper was furious after his match with the Barbarian, but there was another man that wasn’t overly happy about DiBiase’s actions. He then sent it to former Intercontinental Champion Bret “the Hitman” Hart. Bret Hart wanted to know what was going on in the WWF. He said that he lost the IC Title to the Mountie a few weeks back while suffering from the flu and after he was shocked with the cattle prod. Instead of getting his immediate rematch the shot was given to Roddy Piper, and now Ted DiBiase is getting involved. He blamed Jack Tunney for making things far more confusing than they needed to be. He claimed that the Intercontinental Title was rightfully his and he refuses to be forgotten. He said he didn’t care if it was Piper, the Mountie, or DiBiase that held the strap because he was the rightful champion. With that Okerlund sent it to the ring where Bret Hart would be in action. Bret Hart made Brooklyn Brawler submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:04:38. Rating: ** ¼ The Mountie cut an insert promo with Jimmy Hart during the match. Jimmy Hart went on a tirade about how the Mountie was cheated out of the Intercontinental Title at the Royal Rumble. Jimmy said that if Roddy Piper was the true fighting champion he claimed to be that he’d give the Mountie the rematch he deserved. The Mountie finished by saying that he always gets his man, and Roddy Piper was first on his list. Bret Hart defeated the Brooklyn Brawler fairly easily tonight. It is clear that he has the IC Title on his mind. He’ll get his chance to get near to the title on Monday when he teams with the champion, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, to face “the Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and the Barbarian. The Beverly Brothers (Beau Beverly and Blake Beverly) defeated Bob Morgan and Bob Smedley when Blake pinned Smedley with the Shaker Heights Spike in 0:02:51. Rating: ** The Beverly Brothers went a little too far in proving themselves here tonight. After they won their match here tonight they decided to continue the punishment of their opponents at the behest of the Genius. They drilled Bob Smedley with another Shaker Heights Spike, and looked to be going for the same against Bob Morgan when the New Foundation sprinted down the aisle! The crowd exploded as Jim Neidhart and Owen Hart cleared the ring of the villains. Owen checked up on the two men in the ring while Neidhart and the Beverly Brothers continued to jaw at one another. Kerry Von Erich pinned Terry Davis with the Tornado Punch in 0:02:29. Rating: ** (Davey Boy Smith no-showed.) “The Texas Tornado” had little trouble with his opponent tonight, but after the match the lights started to flicker. There was then an odd cackling heard throughout the arena. McMahon and Perfect both seemed a little off of their game on commentary as they wondered just what that was. Kerry Von Erich did not seem fazed by this occurrence as he celebrated in the ring to cheers from the fans. A collection of the promos for the debuting Tatanka aired next. A new promo ended the segment with Tatanka promising to bring honor to his tribe and that he will not return until he has earned the right of being called champion. Tatanka pinned Barry Horowitz with the End of the Trail in 0:03:43. Rating: ** Tatanka really impressed the crowd here tonight with a relatively easy victory over the always game Barry Horowitz. Tatanka used several overhead chops that really shook Horowitz. A flying tomahawk chop from the top looked like it finished Horowitz off, but Tatanka was not done as he picked Horowitz up and dropped him with the End of the Trail (Samoan Drop). Horowitz had no chance of kicking out of the pinfall attempt. Tatanka did a war dance around the ring after the bell was rung, and he was announced as the victor. Mr. Perfect begrudgingly admitted that Tatanka looks like he might be a force to be reckoned with. McMahon thought that we might have just seen the debut of a future World Champion. Perfect made sure that McMahon did not get too far ahead of himself as he said that was a pretty big leap to take after just one match. Another WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired. This time it was strictly focused on the WWF Title and the possible contenders for it at WrestleMania VIII. Okerlund ran down the recent history of the WWF Title where the Undertaker defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF Title with Ric Flair’s assistance at Survivor Series ’91. The Undertaker then was defeated by Hulk Hogan a few days later at Tuesday in Texas, once again when Ric Flair interfered. This time the interference backfired, and Flair cost the Undertaker the match. Okerlund then showed clips of Ric Flair winning the Royal Rumble to become the new WWF Champion by lastly eliminating Sid Justice with Hulk Hogan’s help. Okerlund said that it was now up to President Jack Tunney to decide just who would go on to WrestleMania VIII to face Ric Flair for the WWF Championship. With that Okerlund sent it to President Tunney in his office. Tunney was sitting behind his desk with a serious look on his face. Tunney announced that with all of the deserving talent on the WWF roster it was extremely difficult to announce a number one contender. He said that a lot of men deserved the shot to go on to WrestleMania and face Ric Flair for the title. In the end it came down to three men and those men were Sid Justice, the Undertaker, and Hulk Hogan. Tunney announced that at Saturday Night’s Main Event on February 29th there will be a tag team match where Ric Flair will team with the Undertaker to face Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice. The person who claims the pinfall or submission victory in that match will become the new number one contender and will face Ric Flair for the title at WrestleMania. He made it clear that if either man on the Flair/Undertaker team wins the match then it will be the Undertaker that gets the shot. If the Hogan/Justice team wins it will be determined by who is the man that got the pinfall or the submission. President Tunney said it was the only way to be fair as to who should get the shot. He said that this would be his final word on the matter. Mr. Perfect immediately thought it was horribly unfair for Ric Flair. He was going to be stuck in the ring with three men that want to take his title, and he will be risking injury just to get in the ring with those three monsters. McMahon thought that this was about the only decision that Tunney could have made, and he wondered if Perfect would be trying to help Flair be victorious on Saturday Night’s Main Event? Perfect responded that of course he would. McMahon then questioned Perfect if that meant he wanted Flair to have to face the Undertaker at WrestleMania? Perfect quickly became silent as he pondered this while McMahon sent it to the ring to witness the Undertaker in action. The Undertaker pinned Mickey Jay with the Tombstone in 0:01:23. Rating: ** The Undertaker had no problems with his opponent here tonight and afterwards stuffed him into a bodybag. The Undertaker then stomped the bag a few times for good measure. Paul Bearer spoke into the camera that the Undertaker wanted his title back. McMahon showed clips of Tito Santana coming to the Bushwhackers rescue and clearing the ring of Shawn Michaels last weekend on Superstars! McMahon called Michaels actions against the Bushwhackers reprehensible, but Perfect thought that if you are stupid enough to turn your back on someone then you deserve to get smacked in the face. McMahon said it figured that the Nasty Boys would agree to team with Michaels since they seem to agree with Michaels’ choices as of late. The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) and Shawn Michaels defeated The Bushwhackers (Bushwhacker Luke and Bushwhacker Butch) and Tito Santana when Michaels pinned Luke after a superkick in 0:08:42. Rating: ** ½ Shawn Michaels did his best to avoid Tito Santana for the entire match. Every time Santana tagged in, Michaels made sure to quickly tag out to Knobbs or Sags. Things eventually did break out into a large brawl which led to the Nasty Boys brawling outside with Santana and Butch. Michaels had made the blind tag seconds before leaving him alone in the ring with Luke. Luke was a bit pre-occupied however, as he had been able to grab Jimmy Hart from ringside and looked like he was going to hit him. The slight delay while he listened to the crowd cheering him on led to Michaels being able to drill him in the back of the head with a superkick. Luke fell like he’d been shot, and Michaels was able to hook the leg, put his feet on the ropes, and get the three count from an unknowing referee. Once Santana realized what had happened he was able to throw Sags into the guardrail and slide into the ring. Michaels hightailed it out of there before Santana could get his hands on him. Michaels played with his hair as he backed up the aisle with a big grin on his face. Santana continued to yell at him while Jimmy Hart collected his tag team and Butch checked on Luke. McMahon commented on how Michaels stole another one, but Perfect was quick to defend him stating there was nothing illegal about what he did in that match. McMahon made sure to mention that Ric Flair would be in action on Prime Time Wrestling as he’d be defending the WWF Title for the first time! With that the show came to a close. WWF Notes: Don’t forget that on February 29th there will be a special edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC! Jack Tunney has announced that in the feature match WWF Champion Ric Flair will team with the Undertaker to face Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice! The winner of the fall will go on to face Ric Flair for the WWF Title at WrestleMania VIII! And Monday on Prime Time Wrestling Ted DiBiase will team with the Barbarian to face Roddy Piper and Bret Hart! Ric Flair will also be defending his WWF Title against Koko B. Ware. This is definitely a show you do not want to miss! It has also been revealed that next week on Superstars! we will hear from all four competitors in the tag team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event! And the big news that has just been announced is that Hulk Hogan will be in action on next week’s Superstars! when he goes one on one with Hercules!

Nice read, but man that must be mind numbing to write up sometimes...ya gotta be in the mood to do it I would bet.
There was a time when Hulk-Hercules on free TV would have been quite a main event indeed.
Mr. Perfect is doing a great job as commentator, seems like a man ahead of his time.
So when Davey Boy no-showed...i assume Kerry Von Erich took his place, not the jobber? Was the light flickering angle generic or was it supposed to be for DBS, or was it for Von Erich all along. Don't expect you to tell me, just wondering aloud.
Saturday Night's Main event was always lots of fun, so looking forward to that!
