I can easily picture Flair going off against Earthquake in that opening promo. Surprised never Flair gave himself a heart attack with his intense promos. I also love Mr. Perfect's attitude, he doesn't admit that Hart fooled him at all. Nice to see you have found something for Warlord and Boss Man. The Full Nelson is pretty well built up now, I guess he will have his toughest challenge so far in Boss Man. Wow, what's happened to von Erich? This is voodoo I tell ya! Roberts/Taker vs Savage/Warrior is going to be one awesome match, and McMahon and Heenan are correct, the referee can't possibly contain them. Maybe a special referee is in order? Good win for Marty, but he needs more of those if he's to be a threat to Michaels. Harsh words for Justice.. almost reminds me of CM Punk's promo on RAW this week.. Hehe.. repossess.. clever Good defense by Piper, and the rivalry between him and Bret have slowly begun. Good show!

Good stuff all around. One has to wonder when Flair/Heenan/Perfect are going to implode. They seem to be hanging on by a thread as a cohesive unit. Earthquake bouncing the champ around may put even more tension on them. Papa Shango was one of my favorites growing up. When my friends and I would wrestle each other, I would always be him or Tatanka. Looking at it now, what a weird ass gimmick. And now Kerry Von Erich is in the mix. And Skinner having black goo running down his head is just payback for all the times he spit tobacco juice in people's faces. Bret/Piper is going to be fun.

Rebelins: I had no idea I had a Berzerker/Warlord fan reading. Good to know. Rey: Perfect and Flair have been two of my favorites to write so far. It surprises me since I haven't enjoyed them in past circuits. Ugh. I reread Sid's promo, and it does come across that way. It wasn't on purpose, but it might have come from by subconscious since I liked Punk's promo so much. I did have this planned before Punk's promo, however, so I can at least feel comfortable with that. Ryan: Papa Shango would have come around when I was 9-10, and he scared the crap out of me. Then he turned into a jobber, and I could sleep again at nights. Hopefully, the idea of Kerry Von Erich walking around like a voodoo zombie isn't enough to turn too many people off from this angle. Thanks for the comments, guys!

Superstars! Tampa, FL | March 14 1992 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect[/b] Vince McMahon welcomed everyone to this week’s edition of Superstars! Mr. Perfect looked like he was in a slightly better mood today than on Monday during Prime Time Wrestling. McMahon asked him why he seemed so chipper, which Perfect responded to by saying he was looking forward to watching Roddy Piper and Bret Hart get their heads bashed in by the Beverly Brothers. McMahon took exception, saying that Hart and Piper have all the tools to make a great tag team, but Perfect reminded McMahon they didn’t have the Genius on their side. Perfect stated that having a manager on your side is more than enough to tip the scales in your favor. McMahon asked if that would be the case on Prime Time Wrestling when Jimmy Hart is in the corner of Earthquake? Perfect acted flustered as McMahon sent it to the ring where Ted Dibiase would be in action. Ted DiBiase made Jim Powers submit to the Million Dollar Dream in 0:05:07. Rating: ** ¾ Ted DiBiase has been having his troubles with his entourage as of late, and today was no different. DiBiase seemed especially upset at one point when he whipped Jim Powers into the ropes. Sherri Martel was standing at ringside but was distracted, caressing the Barbarian’s chest. Powers came off the ropes and nailed DiBiase with a high crossbody, but it only got a two count. DiBiase immediately got back to his feet and yelled at them to pay attention, apparently upset they missed a good opportunity to trip Powers. DiBiase decided to stick to his own wrestling ability from then on, and he was able to get the victory with the Million Dollar Dream. DiBiase berated both the Barbarian and “Sensational” Sherri after the match. Rick Martel made Lee Thomas submit to the Boston Crab in 0:03:36. Rating: ** Rick Martel cut an insert promo during his match. He stated he would be watching the Intercontinental Title match between Roddy Piper and Bret Hart very closely. He said that every model needs a little gold in his life. If Rick Martel continues to wrestle like he did today, he is definitely going to be in line for an IC Title shot. Unfortunately, for him, that line is a long one. A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired. Okerlund talked about how impressive the rookie Tatanka has been since his debut. Okerlund said he heard daily about how great of an influence he has been for the Native American youth all around the country. He mentioned Tatanka’s recent trip to a middle school classroom on a reservation where he bestowed a handmade headdress to a young man of about twelve. A clip was shown of the event, and Tatanka gave a nice speech to the class about how proud he was of the history of his people. Big Boss Man pinned Lee Armstrong with the Boss Man Slam in 0:02:55. Rating: ** (Tito Santana no-showed.) Big Boss Man cut an insert promo during his match. He promised to make Warlord and Harvey Wippleman pay for their crimes on Prime Time Wrestling. He admitted to not always getting along with Greg Valentine, but there is a line you do not cross, and Warlord crossed it. Boss Man claimed that Warlord tried to end the career of Valentine, and due to that, he was in for some hard time with the Big Boss Man. Big Boss Man accomplished his goal of warming himself up for Monday’s tag team match. Perfect held to his belief that Boss Man was getting involved in a situation that was none of his business. McMahon said a man that stands for law and order cannot sit idly by while another man’s livelihood is on the line. McMahon thought it was disgusting Warlord wanted to prove how dangerous his Full Nelson is by putting Valentine back on the shelf. Perfect said he had been in the ring plenty of times with Greg Valentine, and he can handle himself. He didn’t need some Cobb County hick coming to his rescue. McMahon did not continue his argument with Perfect, instead deciding to show a clip of Bret Hart saving his brother, Owen, from an attack by the Beverly Brothers a few weeks ago on Superstars! McMahon said, because of this, the Genius claimed Bret ruined his strategy going into the big number one contenders match against the New Foundation. The Genius laid out a challenge to “the Hitman,” and Bret found quite the partner in “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Perfect thought it was a stupid idea to rely on a man you are going to have to fight soon. McMahon sent it to the ring where the champion and the challenger would be teaming up. The Beverly Brothers (Beau Beverly and Blake Beverly) defeated Bret Hart and Roddy Piper when Beau pinned B. Hart with the Shaker Heights Spike in 0:11:04. Rating: *** ½ Bret Hart and Roddy Piper showed surprisingly good teamwork in their match. They knew they were going to have to be on their game going up against a seasoned team like the Beverly Brothers. After an extended heat sequence on Piper, he made the hot tag to Bret Hart. Things looked like they were going to go their way when Bret whipped Blake into the ropes. Unfortunately for him, Piper was standing right there on the ring apron, still trying to collect himself. Blake collided with Piper, sending him soaring off the apron and into the guardrail. Bret Hart saw what happened and tried to check on Piper, but Blake and Beau regained control of the match. With nobody to tag, and going up against a team like the Beverlys, Bret Hart couldn’t take the punishment for very long before he fell to the Shaker Heights Spike. After the match, the Genius got into Bret Hart’s face, screaming that he cost him the World Tag Team Titles. Roddy Piper eventually regained his composure on the outside, grabbed a chair from ringside, and cleared the ring of the Beverly Brothers and the Genius. Bret Hart slowly got to his feet and went to shake Piper’s hand, but Piper would have none of it. Instead, he pushed Bret away and seemed to be accusing “the Hitman” of purposely trying to injure him. Bret Hart and Piper continued their argument for a few seconds before cooler heads prevailed. While Perfect lamented the fact that Piper missed an opportunity to nail Hart with the chair, McMahon made the announcement that President Tunney decided on the time and place for Bret Hart’s upcoming Intercontinental Title match against Piper. It will be at WrestleMania VIII in front of a sold out crowd at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana! The Mountie defeated Dale Wolfe when Minoru passed out in the Carotid Control Technique in 0:03:49. Rating: ** The Mountie made his return to action after suffering a defeat at the hands of Bret Hart on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The shock that Bret Hart gave him with his own cattle prod did not seem to change his personality whatsoever. He’s still as arrogant as ever and capable of dismantling an opponent as shown here. A pre-recorded interview with the New Foundation aired. Jim Neidhart warned the Natural Disasters not to get too focused on Ric Flair because they were coming for the gold. Owen Hart said they would be at the arena during Prime Time Wrestling and watching very closely. He knew that Earthquake and Typhoon were underestimating them, but he promised the New Foundation would make it the biggest mistake of their lives. Typhoon pinned Jimmy James with the Big Splash in 0:03:06. Rating: ** Earthquake cut an insert promo during his partner’s match. He told Ric Flair to shine the title up because it was coming home with him on Monday. Typhoon, the other half of the World Tag Team Champions, didn’t have any problems with his opponent today. The Big Splash shook the ring and nearly crushed his opponent’s ribs. After the match, Typhoon hit two more Big Splashes before telling the camera that this is what the New Foundation had to look forward to. An advertisement aired for WrestleMania VIII on April 5th at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Heavenly Bodies (Jimmy Del Ray and Tom Prichard) defeated Jim Cooper and Paul Simpson when J. Del Ray pinned Cooper with the Moonsault in 0:04:19. Rating: ** ½ The Heavenly Bodies continue to impress with their second victory in as many matches. Jim Cornette has really talked the Heavenly Bodies up as future Tag Team Champions, and if they can keep this up, he might just be right. Cornette celebrated with Del Ray and Prichard after the match. After a batch of commercials, IRS came to the ring, dragging a young kid alongside him with what looked like a Native American headdress. It quickly became clear that this was the same child that Tatanka had given a handmade headdress to at his recent trip to a middle school. IRS said he was sick and tired of Tatanka abusing tax legislation. He claimed Tatanka was using the money that should be going towards his taxes to pay for cheap pieces of trash like this headdress. IRS pulled out a pair of large scissors and said whatever Tatanka made, thirty percent of it belongs to the government. IRS then cut the headdress by about a third. He sent the kid crying from the ring with the remaining two thirds. IRS said he hoped that Tatanka would learn a lesson that it is not okay to cheat on your taxes just because you are a Native American. Tatanka had seen enough, apparently, as he burst down the aisle to get his hands on IRS, but Irwin R. Schyster escaped before any harm could come to him. Vince McMahon could not believe the actions of IRS, but Mr. Perfect thought IRS was being pretty lenient. If it were up to him, he would have Tatanka sent to prison for not paying his taxes. McMahon was flabbergasted as he said he was definite that Tatanka paid every tax that applied to him. Sgt. Slaughter defeated Pete Sanchez when Sanchez passed out in the Cobra Clutch in 0:03:20. Rating: ** Sgt Slaughter was accompanied to the ring by his tag team partner, Jim Duggan. It was a good thing because quite the bizarre event happened after the match. As Duggan and Slaughter were celebrating in the ring by waving the US flag around, two men of Asian descent stormed the ring. The two men got the upper hand on Team USA for a couple of seconds, but Slaughter and Duggan were able to regain control shortly thereafter. Slaughter was able to whip both men into a Duggan Three Point Stance. With both men that ambushed them laid out, Duggan and Slaughter saluted the United States flag. Vince McMahon said that Mr. Fuji probably needed to continue his search for a couple of men that could take on Team USA. Mr. Perfect thought it was horrible that McMahon would accuse Mr. Fuji of being behind this attack. McMahon said no other person would try and attack Team USA and disrespect the US like that except for Fuji. Hulk Hogan was interviewed by Sean Mooney up on the podium. Hogan said he heard Ric Flair’s comments from last week, and he had a bone to pick with him. He responded by saying he lives and dies professional wrestling. He told Flair that if it wasn’t for Hulkamania, Flair wouldn’t be on television two times a week, so he needed to get off his high horse about being some sort of wrestling god. He said that while Flair was wrestling for peanuts in some high school, he was wrestling Andre the Giant in front of 100,000 fans. Hogan said he might like making movies, but he loved being the WWF Champion, and there was no way he was going to let this opportunity slip by. He told Flair that when people think of wrestling, they think of Hulk Hogan, not Ric Flair, and that was a fact, brother. When asked about Sid Justice, Hogan said he understood Sid’s disappointment about not being able overcome the Hulkster’s destiny of going to WrestleMania. He hoped that Sid would realize that Hogan had done nothing wrong, and he looked forward to seeing him again and burying the hatchet. Hogan ended the segment by telling Flair he better not lose the title to Earthquake because he was really looking forward to tossing him from one side of the ring to the other in Indianapolis. A pre-recorded interview aired from Paul Bearer and the Undertaker. Bearer told the Ultimate Warrior if he wanted to get involved in their business then he was going to suffer dearly. Bearer told Warrior to listen closely next week on Superstars! because he is going to have a special challenge for the Warrior. Undertaker finished the promo by saying Warrior will rest in peace with all the other fallen warriors he has put to sleep. The Ultimate Warrior pinned Col. Mustafa with the Big Splash in 0:00:59. Rating: 1/4* The Ultimate Warrior’s return to the WWF ring was nothing short of spectacular. Col. Mustafa tried to cheap shot him as he entered the ring, but Warrior simply shook it off. A storm of clotheslines followed by the Big Splash was more than enough to quickly put this match away. General Adnan even tried to get involved after the match, but he was hoisted up and thrown onto Mustafa with a Gorilla Press. Warrior bounced off the ropes several times as the crowd roared for the former World Champion. McMahon could not believe how little rust Warrior showed in his return to action. Perfect said that it won’t be so easy for him when he has to go up against the Undertaker and Jake Roberts. McMahon thought Warrior might be able to do to them what he just did to Mustafa, but Perfect reiterated he was nuts if he thought that. McMahon reminded everyone to tune in to Prime Time Wrestling where Ric Flair will be defending his World Heavyweight Title against one half of the Tag Team Champions, Earthquake! McMahon was having the feeling that we might just see a new champion this Monday! Perfect claimed it would never happen, but McMahon was not so sure as the show came to a close. WWF Notes: This coming Monday on Prime Time Wrestling, we are going to have quite the showdown as Ric Flair defends his World Heavyweight Championship against the monster known as Earthquake. Earthquake is no stranger to championships as he is one half of the current World Tag Team Champions. Will Earthquake be able to add the most prestigious title to his collection? Also signed for the show, Big Boss Man is going to team up with Greg Valentine to face the makeshift tag team of Warlord and Hercules. Harvey Wippleman needed to find a partner for Warlord, and he found a good one. Make sure to tune in to see these matches and much more on Prime Time Wrestling! Next week on Superstars!, the Legion of Doom will go at it with the Beverly Brothers. The Undertaker and Paul Bearer have given word they will have a special challenge for the Ultimate Warrior. And in the feature bout, Tatanka has had enough after IRS’ antics today. He has demanded and been granted a one on one match with IRS! All of this and much more in next week’s jam-packed edition of Superstars! WrestleMania VIII (4/5/92):
World Heavyweight Title: Ric Flair© (w/Mr. Perfect) vs. Hulk Hogan
Intercontinental Title: Roddy Piper© vs. Bret Hart
Tag Team Grudge Match: Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior vs. The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) and Jake Roberts

Lot of fun stuff here. Classic heel move by IRS. Cutting 30% of a child's headdress? Just awesome douchebag stuff.
Good interview by Hogan, trying to justify his movie making.
I liked the tag team main event a lot. Glad the Beverly Brothers won as they should - they're the better team as a unit, and the riff between Hart and Piper gets driven further. Don't know if Hart will be spared the chair next time though.

DiBiase and Sherri may be on a collision course, but I'm not sure who should turn face. They both are such great natural heels. There are a lot of contenders to the IC title. Martel, Boss Man, Tatanka, etc. Keeps it fresh and exciting At this point in time I'm not sure I want Mr. Perfect back in the ring, he does such a good job in the discussion panel. Ooh.. tempers flaring between the challenger and the champion. It's a big win for the Beverly Brothers even though Bret and Piper are two singles wrestlers. Wow, making a child cry is so.. heelish. IRS just gained a couple of heat points with that segment. So who were the two asian guys? Jobbers? Was Col. Mustafa a jobber back in the days? Or more like a semi-jobber? Either way, 59 seconds is an impressive win for the Warrior. Superstars looks jam-packed for next week - three big matches! I think you've managed to build up the Flair vs Earthquake match in such a great way that I'm looking forward to it even though I know Flair will retain. Good show, looking forward to Superstars!

I pretty much ditto Ryan's comments. Was Col. Mustafa a jobber back in the days? Or more like a semi-jobber? Either way, 59 seconds is an impressive win for the Warrior. Until this circuit I didn't realize Mustafa & Adnan stuck around for so long after the Iraq angle.

Ryan: IRS fits the role of a douchebag heel pretty well. Plus, I enjoy any time I can make a child cry. Rey: Perfect is a tough one. I love writing him right now, but he will return to the ring eventually. Asian guys were just jobbers to show Fuji hadn't forgotten about them. Col. Mustafa was probably along the same lines as Jimmy Snuka and Koko B. Ware. Hardly ever won a match but was kept around for some reason. Superstars only has two big matches and a special challenge from the Undertaker. Unless you meant Prime Time Wrestling, which still only has two matches scheduled. One of these days I'm going to actually switch the World Title when it makes absolutely no sense. Haven't done it yet, but it will happen. 2-3 weeks before WrestleMania may not be the best time for this, however. Liller: I just watched a house show from the WWF in March of '92, and Mustafa jobbed to Tatanka on Tatanka's MSG debut. So he was at least around until then. I knew they were around in January of '92 because of the Rumble, but yeah, I was surprised too. I don't know how long I will keep him around. Thanks for the comments, guys!

Prime Time Wrestling Stamford, CT |March 16 1992 Host: Vince McMahon Discussion Panel: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Mr. Perfect Commentators for Matches: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect, Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred Hayes[/b] Prime Time Wrestling began with Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon yelling at Mr. Perfect about something. Perfect played it off like he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time, but Monsoon would not let it go. Bobby Heenan seemed a little confused by the whole ordeal, but eventually, he stood up for Perfect and told Monsoon that he didn’t know what he was talking about. McMahon let the viewing audience in on the whole ordeal. Earlier in the day, a camera caught Perfect in the backstage area nearby a fallen Jim Neidhart. McMahon sent it to the clip. The video clip opens up on Jim Neidhart laid out on his stomach, holding his head. A dented chair is on one side of Neidhart and a megaphone on the other. The camera does pick up Mr. Perfect sticking his head out a nearby room for a split second. Once he sees the camera, he disappears around the corner. Just then, Owen Hart showed up and immediately checked on Neidhart. He kept asking Neidhart who did this to him, but Neidhart came to enough to admit that he was not sure. Owen picked up the megaphone and told Neidhart he had a pretty good idea as the camera shut off. Back in the WWF studios, Monsoon wanted to know just what Perfect was up to. Perfect said he heard a noise in the hallway, saw Neidhart laying there, and that was all there was to it. Heenan said it was clear that Jimmy Hart had to be behind it since the megaphone was sitting right there. McMahon, on the other hand, thought there was no way Jimmy Hart would get himself involved in an ambush on Jim Neidhart just hours before his man, Earthquake, was going up against Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Title. Heenan replied that a lot of people thought Jimmy Hart was a couple eggs short of a basket. Monsoon continued to blame Perfect for what had happened, but McMahon had to cut him off and announce that the big World Title match was first up on Prime Time Wrestling. McMahon thought Perfect had gotten Ric Flair into this mess, and he would be the one to blame when Earthquake walked out with the World Heavyweight Championship. Ric Flair pinned Earthquake via pinfall in 0:15:48. Rating: *** 1/4 (Ric Flair retained the WWF Heavyweight Title.) You have to give credit to Ric Flair. He did not back down from Earthquake for one second of this match, well, except for the few times that he begged off from the barrage of offense from ‘quake. But Flair did keep getting back up after being bounced from one side of the ring to the other. Flair tried his best to follow his game plan, focusing in on the knee of Earthquake, but the Tag Team Champion was able to brush most of it off. Mr. Perfect, who was at ringside for the match, saw the World Title slipping away and tried to get involved. Typhoon had other plans, however, as he ran down the aisle and grabbed a hold of Perfect. He hooked Perfect’s arms behind him and forced him to watch as Earthquake dropped Flair with a thunderous powerslam. Things looked like they were about over for Flair when Earthquake jumped around the corpselike body of Flair, signaling the time had come for the Earthquake Splash. What the Natural Disasters and Jimmy Hart didn’t expect was for the New Foundation to run down the aisle, Jim Neidhart holding a chair. While Owen jumped on the ring apron and distracted the referee, Earthquake bounced off the ropes and right into a teeth rattling chairshot to the back of the head by Neidhart. Owen hopped off the ring apron as Typhoon released Perfect and chased after him. Earthquake fell to the mat unconscious, rolling over onto his back in the process. While the referee and Jimmy Hart tried to get control of Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart brawling with Typhoon on the outside, Mr. Perfect slid into the ring and pulled Flair on top of Earthquake. When the referee turned around, he saw Flair making the cover. A three count later and Flair had somehow retained his title. Back in the WWF studios, Gorilla Monsoon still believed that Mr. Perfect was behind the attack on Jim Neidhart. Heenan thought it was impressive the New Foundation stood up for themselves after they were attacked by Jimmy Hart and the Natural Disasters backstage. McMahon seemed to side with Monsoon, it was a little too coincidental that Perfect was at the scene where Neidhart had been hit with a chair, and now, the New Foundation cost Earthquake the World Heavyweight Title. Perfect said there was no proof, and his word should be taken as truth since has been proven to be an honest member of the WWF roster over the last few years. Monsoon nearly choked, asking him if he could possibly be serious about that claim. McMahon said that a few things were certain after this match, Ric Flair was still the World Champion, and the Natural Disasters were going to be furious with the New Foundation when all was said and done. In fact, after the match, Jimmy Hart petitioned President Tunney to sign the match the New Foundation had earned two weeks ago for WrestleMania. And so, it has been signed, the New Foundation will challenge the Natural Disasters for the World Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania VIII! Heenan did not want to be in Owen Hart’s or Jim Neidhart’s shoes after what just happened, but Monsoon chimed in again, saying that whatever happened to the New Foundation was on Mr. Perfect’s hands. Perfect, meanwhile, just shrugged and said them’s the breaks. Tatanka pinned Doug Somers with the End of the Trail in 0:03:21. Rating: ** Tatanka cut an insert promo during his match. Tatanka promised that IRS’ words and actions towards his ancestry would not go unpunished. He told IRS to prepare for battle this Saturday on Superstars! because that was what he was going to be in for. Tatanka looked like he had even more focus than normal, if that’s possible, as he hit all of his big moves leading up to the End of the Trail. Tatanka told the camera that IRS would pay for the disrespect he has shown to his people. Up on the podium, Marty Jannetty was interviewed by Sean Mooney. Jannetty said he had one thing on his mind the entire time he was in the hospital, and that was getting his hands on Shawn Michaels. Jannetty said he remembered almost nothing of the Barber Shop incident. People kept telling him that Shawn Michaels was responsible for him being in the hospital, but he refused to believe it. He said it wasn’t until he saw it on television with his own eyes that he fully believed Michaels had turned his back on him. Jannetty said he should have known all along that Michaels was not in it for the team, all the nights that he stayed out late, never wanting to talk about their upcoming matches, and only focusing in on the perks of being a professional wrestler. He said Michaels never once talked about aiming for the Tag Team Titles, he only talked about what he was going to do in his eventual singles career, winning the World Heavyweight Title, and becoming the next Ric Flair. Jannetty said Shawn saw a shortcut to fame by putting Jannetty on the shelf, but things did not go as planned because Jannetty was back in the WWF! At this time, Shawn Michaels stepped out of the entrance way with a microphone in hand. Jannetty looked like he was about to take off after Michaels, but Shawn told him to wait a minute. Shawn said if Jannetty took one step off that podium then Shawn would take off, and he would never agree to a match with Marty. Shawn told Marty that he was ruining everything by coming back to the WWF, just like he ruined the Rockers. Michaels said the Rockers were the most popular tag team in WWF history, but it never got them anywhere. All Jannetty could ever do was talk about their team goals, where they were going as a team, going overseas and dominating the tag team ranks. Michaels reminded Jannetty that despite all their success, they had to kick and scratch to get on the card at WrestleMania last year. They were never signed to any money matches, they were never given title shots, and they were just some sort of sideshow to get the girls to come to the arena. Michaels said that he was on his way to breaking out of that role and becoming the main eventer he had always been destined to be, but Jannetty coming back was ruining all that. All it did was remind people that Shawn Michaels used to be a part of the Rockers. Jannetty told Michaels if he really wanted to prove he was a future main eventer then to get in the ring with him right now. Jannetty did not care if he came out of the Rockers as a main eventer, but he did care about pounding Michaels into a pulp. Michaels told Jannetty that he was beyond wrestling in impromptu matches to get the crowd all riled up. But if Jannetty really wanted to get his hands on Michaels then he was going to have to earn it, because while Jannetty was taking a vacation, Shawn was in the ring every week showcasing just what he is capable of. Michaels told Jannetty that if he won his match next week on Prime Time Wrestling that he would agree to face Marty Jannetty on the biggest show of them all, WrestleMania! Jannetty ordered Michaels to tell him who his opponent would be, but Michaels simply pointed from afar that Marty should look behind him. Jannetty turned around into the cattle prod held by the Mountie! The Mountie shocked Jannetty which sent Marty collapsing to the floor in pain. The Mountie gave him another shock before getting in Marty’s face and talking trash to him. Shawn had a huge smile on his face as officials stormed the podium to get the Mountie off of Marty. Team USA (Jim Duggan and Sgt. Slaughter) defeated Eric Collins and Mike Freedom when Duggan pinned Collins with the Three Point Stance in 0:03:31. Rating: * ½ Team USA continued their run of recent success here tonight with another victory. They celebrated with the US flag afterwards as the crowd cheered them on. Mr. Perfect said he was growing very tired of Team USA using the flag to get the fans to cheer for them. McMahon seemed aghast that Perfect would say something like that, saying that Team USA was just showing their patriotism. Perfect wondered why they are allowed to do it, but when upstanding citizens of Japan like Mr. Fuji do it, they are considered to be evil human beings. Monsoon said he has no problems with Mr. Fuji waving the Japanese flag, but it was his actions inside and out of the ring that make him despicable. Heenan disagreed since he had claimed to have never seen Fuji do anything unethical. McMahon broke in to say that Mr. Fuji had sent in a video clip while he is still over in Japan. A pre-recorded promo aired of Mr. Fuji. Fuji, in some broken English, said he was disgusted by Team USA continuing to wave their flag around. He said he had searched far and wide to find the man that will show Team USA that Japan is the number one country in the world, and he has found that man. Fuji said it would soon be time to destroy everything the USA holds dear including their mascots, Jim Duggan and Sgt. Slaughter. Bret Hart made Ted DiBiase submit to the Sharpshooter in 0:10:52. Rating: **** ¼ Ted DiBiase has been desperately looking to get his career back on track. It looked like he was doing so by aligning himself with the Barbarian. The only problem has been that “Sensational” Sherri has also aligned herself with the Barbarian, although in a somewhat different way. These problems arose again when, after a referee bump, “Sensation” Sherri went to nail Bret Hart with her shoe, but Bret was able duck out of the way. DiBiase was not so lucky as he got the full brunt of the high heeled shoe. Bret Hart looked like he was going to go after Sherri, but the Barbarian was right there to cut him off. Instead, Bret hooked DiBiase in the Sharpshooter as the Barbarian helped Sherri to the outside. The referee regained his composure long enough to hear DiBiase screaming that he quit and call for the bell to be rung. Bret Hart left the ring with another victory heading into WrestleMania. Ted DiBiase, on the other hand, was not a happy camper. DiBiase, as has so often been the case of late, verbally assaulted the Barbarian and “Sensational” Sherri after the match, blaming them for his loss. Back in the WWF studios, Vince McMahon said that DiBiase stayed in the ring with the Barbarian and “Sensational” Sherri for a little too long as the next match was supposed to get underway. He then wanted to show the viewing audience what had happened. Apparently, “the British Bulldog” was going to be in action next as he came down the aisle. Once he entered the ring, he motioned that DiBiase, the Barbarian, and “Sensational” Sherri should leave the ring. DiBiase blew him off and continued to yell at his entourage. Davey Boy eventually had enough as he grabbed a microphone from ringside. He told DiBiase that maybe if he learned to win some matches without help, he wouldn’t be stuck in these situations so often. Davey Boy then demanded DiBiase to get out of the ring. That was more than enough to get DiBiase’s ire. DiBiase charged DBS but was backdropped over the top rope for his troubles. The Barbarian and Sherri Martel did not seem too eager to come to DiBiase’s aid. Instead, the Barbarian held the ropes open for Sherri and the two joined “the Million Dollar Man” on the outside. DiBiase threw a fit at ringside as DBS got quite the laugh out of it in the ring. Vince McMahon said that after their confrontation, DiBiase had demanded that President Tunney fine Davey Boy Smith for attacking him after his match. Apparently, however, Tunney thought that DiBiase was the one that instigated the event and no fines were given. Heenan said it was just another case of favoritism shown towards certain members of the roster. Monsoon thought next time DiBiase should keep his hands to himself and get out of the ring after his match. The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) defeated Ian Weston and Lee Armstrong when Sags pinned Weston with the Flying Elbowdrop in 0:03:21. Rating: * ½ The Nasty Boys soundly defeated their opponents here tonight. They will be watching the Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania very closely. Jimmy Hart might have his hands full if the Nasty Boys start demanding a tag title shot anytime soon since his other team, the Natural Disasters, currently hold the titles. A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired. Okerlund showed a clip of last week’s Prime Time Wrestling, where Kerry Von Erich wrestled a match with Papa Shango and Luna Vachon accompanying him to ringside. Von Erich had new attire, including black trunks and face paint that matched Shango’s. Okerlund said he had been in contact with the Von Erich family, a strong family that grew up in wrestling, and they were in utter shock by the current developments. He talked mostly to Kevin Von Erich, who said his father, Fritz, was all torn up at what was going on. Kevin said he could not allow his younger brother to go down this path, and he would be at Superstars! this weekend and on the Barber Shop with Brutus Beefcake to try and talk some sense into his brother, Kerry. Kerry Von Erich defeated George Anderson when Anderson passed out in the Iron Claw in 0:02:27. Rating: * Kerry Von Erich was once again accompanied to the ring by Papa Shango and Luna Vachon. Kerry Von Erich was able to hook on the Iron Claw pretty quickly into his match to get the victory. After the match, Shango and Vachon chanted around Von Erich and his opponent, George Anderson. Within seconds, an odd green goo started to seep out of Anderson’s forehead where Kerry had the Iron Claw applied. Things continued to get weirder as the lights started to flicker on and off. Eventually, Shango, Von Erich, and Vachon left ringside, but they are quickly becoming a threat to every member of the WWF roster. Bobby Heenan refused to talk about Papa Shango, thinking that saying his name too many times might bring him into the WWF studios. Monsoon hoped Kevin Von Erich would be able to figure out just what was going on with his brother, but Vince was worried for Kevin. He hoped that Kevin would not try to confront Papa Shango and Luna Vachon on his own on the Barber Shop this coming Saturday. Discussion moved to last week’s match between Greg Valentine and Warlord. Vince McMahon thought Big Boss Man coming to the aid of Valentine was great to see, but Perfect continued to believe that Big Boss Man sticking his nose in other people’s business was going to cost him in the long run. Monsoon was annoyed that the little pipsqueak, Harvey Wippleman, had turned Warlord into a monster, but Heenan said nobody cared about Warlord until Harvey Wippleman got a hold of him. Now, Warlord was one of the most dangerous men on the roster. McMahon did have to give Wippleman credit for helping Warlord climb the ladder in the WWF. Vince wondered how his managerial talents would work with a tag team since Warlord was going to be teaming with Hercules in the feature bout. Heenan said if Hercules was smart, he’d listen very closely to what Harvey has to say. Big Boss Man and Greg Valentine fought Hercules and Warlord to a double disqualification in 0:08:56. Rating: * Things ended badly for the Big Boss Man tonight. He definitely will regret coming to the aid of Greg Valentine last week. Big Boss Man was cornered by Hercules and Warlord early on in the match, and they were able to hold him off from making the tag for quite some time. Boss Man eventually was able to nail both men with a double clothesline and dived to his corner to make the hot tag. Valentine entered into the ring with what looked like adrenaline pumping through his bones. It was all a ruse, however, as Valentine chop blocked Big Boss Man. Harvey Wippleman entered the ring as Warlord and Hercules got to their feet to shake hands with Valentine. The crowd erupted in boos as the referee threw the match out. It was all a setup by Harvey Wippleman. He somehow got in the ear of Greg Valentine and convinced him to join his side. Valentine hooked Big Boss Man in the Figure Four Leglock while Warlord held him down. Hercules bounced off the ropes and delivered several splashes onto the former corrections officer. Wippleman kept directing traffic until several officials and referees stormed the ring to break things up. The damage had already been done, however, as the Boss Man had to be helped to the back. Wippleman took turns hugging each man in the ring, apparently having formed a new alliance with both Hercules and Greg Valentine. Gorilla Monsoon could not believe what he had just seen. He commented that Greg Valentine should be ashamed of himself. Bobby Heenan thought it was great that Valentine was willing to take a chance with a brand new manager. Perfect said with Hercules, Warlord, and Valentine by his side, Wippleman just became a huge player in the WWF. McMahon said it was hard to disagree with Perfect, but they disgusted him by their actions. McMahon wondered just what type of human being would accept Big Boss Man’s help one week and then turn on him the next. Monsoon agreed with McMahon, hoping that Big Boss Man was going to be okay, and able to smack Harvey around a bit when he had recuperated. McMahon hoped he would get word from the Big Boss Man soon, but he knew he would be in a foul mood. McMahon said goodnight for everyone as the other three men continued to discuss Wippleman’s new group. WWF Notes: This week on Superstars!, Kevin Von Erich, the brother of Kerry Von Erich, will make a special guest appearance on the Barber Shop! He is not happy with what has happened to his brother, and he will be looking for answers. The Legion of Doom will go at it with the Beverly Brothers! The Undertaker and Paul Bearer have given word they will have a special challenge for the Ultimate Warrior. And in the feature bout, Tatanka has had enough of IRS’ antics. He has demanded and been granted a one on one match with IRS! All of this and much more in this week’s jam-packed edition of Superstars! Next Monday on Prime Time Wrestling, Marty Jannetty will face off against the former Intercontinental Champion, the Mountie! Shawn Michaels has told Jannetty that, if he can defeat the Mountie, he will sign on the dotted line for a match at WrestleMania VIII. And in the main event of the evening, Roddy Piper continues to showcase his fighting champion ways when he defends his Intercontinental Title against Rick “The Model” Martel! That match is sure to be explosive, and one you do not want to miss. The Road to WrestleMania is getting shorter and shorter! WrestleMania VIII (4/5/92):
World Heavyweight Title: Ric Flair© (w/Mr. Perfect) vs. Hulk Hogan
Intercontinental Title: Roddy Piper© vs. Bret Hart
Tag Team Titles: The Natural Disasters© (w/Jimmy Hart) vs. The New Foundation
Tag Team Grudge Match: Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior vs. The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) and Jake Roberts

- Cool way to start off, the commentators already in a heated debate! - The New Foundation are not exactly CSI: Calgary, Perfect's mind games worked.. well.. perfectly! - The faces interfere causing a heel champion to win by cheating? That's radical, but it did save Flair's life and Earthquake's push. Good job by Flair, carrying Earthquake around for 15 minutes though - Good segment with Janetty and Michaels. Mountie is perfect for doing the job to Jannetty next Prime Time. He most certainly is not a JTTS, but can probably handle a loss to Jannetty. - What happened with Davey Boy's match? He backdropped DiBiase and then left? - I thought most of the von Erich's would be dead by now.. or what do I know? There's a like a gazillion von Erich's. - Hah! Love Heenan's superstitiousness. Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango, Papa Shango... hmm.. nobody turned up - Swerve! Boss Man in trouble. Six-man tag match coming up? But who will come to the Boss Man's aid?

I initially wondered about what happened with Davey Boy Smith, too. But if I remember correctly, the WWF at this time did huge cards with multiple TV tapings, with matches not necessarily in sequential order. So it's likely that Davey Boy had the next match, but that match wasn't chosen to be aired on this edition of Prime Time.
I'm interested to see how things turn out with Papa Shango now that he's getting more of a slow burn, with Kerry Von Erich actually doing the in-ring work to maneuver around Papa Shango's in-ring limitations. His push started and ended in the blink of an eye in real life, and I wonder how high he might have climbed on the ladder had it not been for some of the booking problems inherent there.
So Mr. Fuji has found a man -- singular -- who can help him bring down the duo of Sgt. Slaughter and Hacksaw Jim Duggan? An early debut for Yokozuna, maybe? His real-life WWF debut was at Survivor Series of that year, so it wouldn't be a stretch at all.

Yokozuna was the first person that came to my mind when I read Fuji's promo. He fits the bill pretty well.
Von Erich and Shango is an odd pairing, but I think it works. He's just on the opposite side of the spectrum enough that it shows how strong shango's "powers" are.
Good build up for the Foundation/Disasters match. Pardon the pun, but that was a perfect way to end the main event and everyone still maintain their heat.

Mr. Perfect's antics were great. I love how he keeps managing to save his job as Flair's adviser every week, but every time he does so, he makes a new set of enemies. A lot of fun.
Kevin Von Erich on Superstars is a nice touch. I assume Shango and Kerry attack him.
Really liked the Valentine turn at the end of the show. Boss Man needs to find some partners in a hurry. That he can actually trust.
Mania setting up nicely. Excited to see what the rest of the card is. HBK/Jannetty for sure... maybe DiBiase/Davey Boy?

Rey: I booked Earthquake and Flair to go around 13 minutes. I figured Earthquake is a pretty good big guy, and he could work Flair's style for a decently long match. TNM seemed to agree with me somewhat. Garth has it right. It was basically a match that I didn't book in TNM, but I was using what the WWF use to do in booking a ton of matches, some of them making TV and others not. I didn't do a great job of explaining that though. Probably should avoid that issue in the future. Kerry doesn't die until early 1993. Still haven't decided how I will handle that. I might keep him around or I might not. Kevin is still alive and well in real life. He was on Raw a couple of years ago, I believe. Shango has that "Candyman" vibe going on in my eyes. Garth: Thanks for explaining DBS's match. You did it far better than I could have. But that's pretty much exactly what I was going for. I agree about Shango. He really was a lacklustre performer in the ring. I'm using Shango and Kerry together to help one another get over. Luckily, I don't have to deal with actually watching Shango's matches in real life, so I can use him in the ring without worry about fans sitting on their hands. Fuji definitely only has one man in mind. We'll see where it leads. asover7s: Yeah, Von Erich was such a by the numbers face that I thought he'd fit in well with Shango. Not to mention the fact that I had nothing for Von Erich at the time. Ryan: Perfect keeps getting himself in trouble, but he is able to dig himself out. He should be in the clear now up until WrestleMania. Boss Man will definitely be looking for some help in his feud with Wippleman's group. I think I know of a couple of guys that he can trust. Pretty good guesses on both predictions. The rest of the lineup should be announced pretty soon. Thanks for all of the comments, guys!

Superstars! Tampa, FL | March 21 1992 Commentators: Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect[/b] Vince McMahon opened the show by congratulating Mr. Perfect on Ric Flair being able to retain his World Heavyweight Title on Prime Time Wrestling. Perfect said that all the credit should go to Flair, but McMahon wanted him to be honest. McMahon claimed that if it were not for Perfect, Earthquake would more than likely be the WWF Champion right now. Perfect seemed to take it as a compliment as he thanked McMahon for his kind words. Greg Valentine made Scott Sommers submit to the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:03:40. Rating: * ½ Harvey Wippleman cut an insert promo during Valentine’s match. He said that he had long term plans for Warlord, Hercules, and Greg Valentine, and they didn’t involve some wannabe law enforcement officer running around preventing him from doing what needs to be done. Greg Valentine was accompanied to the ring by Harvey Wippleman, clarifying that Valentine had not just turned on the Big Boss Man but has come under Harvey’s tutelage. Valentine looked impressive in picking up the victory today with the Figure-Four Leglock. Pre-recorded comments aired from the Big Boss Man. Boss Man said he should have known better than to help someone like Valentine. He stated that once a criminal, always a criminal is a saying that fits Valentine’s character. Now that he had seen just what Harvey Wippleman and his men were capable of, he knew that they needed some law and order. He promised to find a couple of trustworthy allies to teach Wippleman just what happens to criminals in the WWF. The Bushwhackers (Bushwhacker Luke and Bushwhacker Butch) defeated The Avery Brothers (Bob Avery and Mark Avery) when Luke pinned M. Avery with the Battering Ram in 0:04:35. Rating: * ½ The Bushwhackers celebrated after the match by licking ring announcer Howard Finkel’s head. They continued to march around the ring when the Natural Disasters with Jimmy Hart came from out of nowhere and ambushed them. Typhoon tossed Luke into the corner and nailed him with an avalanche while Earthquake dropped his full weight onto Butch’s chest with the Earthquake Splash. Typhoon tossed Luke over the top rope and to the floor, but Earthquake wasn’t done as he dropped several consecutive elbows onto Butch. Jimmy Hart grabbed the microphone from ringside and told the New Foundation that this was what they had to look forward to at WrestleMania. Earthquake bellowed that they stole the World Title away from him, and so he was going to steal their careers from them. While the Bushwhackers were being helped from ringside, McMahon expressed concern for the well-being of the New Foundation. Mr. Perfect, on the other hand, said they shouldn’t have attacked Earthquake on Prime Time if they couldn’t handle the consequences. McMahon scolded Perfect since he thought that Perfect was responsible for all of this. A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired. On this edition, Okerlund spoke about the current feud between Jake Roberts and the Undertaker against the Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage. Okerlund was told that the Undertaker had a challenge for the Warrior which would air in the upcoming video. Paul Bearer stood beside the Undertaker in what appeared to be a graveyard at night. Bearer told the Warrior that he was a lot like the Undertaker. Warrior put Randy Savage’s career to rest once, and now it was the Undertaker’s responsibility to bury Savage once and for all. Bearer said there was only one thing better than one funeral and that was two funerals. The Undertaker challenged the Warrior to meet him in two week’s time, the Saturday before WrestleMania Sunday. He said there was no need to wait until WrestleMania because there was a burial plot available with his exact specifications. The Undertaker promised to lay Warrior to rest with all the respect that a Warrior deserves. Okerlund said he would try and get word from the Ultimate Warrior before the end of the show about this challenge. Also, he has been told that Jake Roberts wanted to show a video to Randy Savage on Prime Time Wrestling. Okerlund had no idea what Roberts could be referring to, but Savage was going to be with the discussion panel this coming Monday. Okerlund sent it to the ring where Roberts would be in action. Jake Roberts pinned Dale Wolfe with the DDT in 0:02:27. Rating: ** After the match, Jake Roberts blew a kiss into the camera and whispered into it that he’d be seeing Elizabeth soon. McMahon said that earlier in the day there was a ruckus in the arena parking lot. He had heard it involved IRS and Tatanka, the two men in the feature bout of today’s show, and he had finally been cleared to show it despite the gruesome nature of the clip. The clip shows Tatanka pulling up to the arena in a jeep. He exits the vehicle when a briefcase comes from out of nowhere and smacks him upside the head. Tatanka falls to the pavement, clutching his head. Blood starts to seep out of Tatanka’s fingers while the camera pans up to reveal IRS at the end of the briefcase. IRS started to berate Tatanka about how he probably hadn’t paid the proper taxes for his vehicle. He said he was going to have it impounded as WWF officials stormed the area. McMahon said he had heard from the medical staff, and Tatanka was suffering from a mild concussion after that cowardly attack by IRS. Perfect wondered why it was cowardly when all he was doing was his job. McMahon ignored Perfect, saying that because of the injury to Tatanka, he would not be allowed to wrestle. Not only that, but IRS said he would have a few words for the audience later on in the show. McMahon sarcastically said how much he was looking forward to that, but Perfect did not pick up on the sarcasm and agreed wholeheartedly. The Legion of Doom (Hawk and Animal) defeated The Beverly Brothers (Beau Beverly and Blake Beverly) when Hawk pinned Beau with the Doomsday Device in 0:12:32. Rating: *** ¼ This match ended up being a really good tag team affair that showed off just how competitive both teams are. The Legion of Doom were barely able to squeak out the victory with the Doomsday Device. Hawk got the pinfall while Animal held Blake off. After the match, the Genius tried to get some revenge for his team when he went to nail Animal with the scroll, but all that happened was he caught a left hook from Animal. Repo Man made Jim Powers submit to the Crowbar in 0:06:10. Rating: *** Jim Powers put up a little more fight than Repo Man had expected. Repo eventually had to rely on his golden hook from the tow rope to knock Powers down. The referee, of course, was looking the other way when this occurred. The Crowbar was then applied, and once Powers came to, he had no choice but to submit. Vince McMahon announced that he had heard back from the Ultimate Warrior, and he had accepted the challenge for two weeks from today. McMahon questioned if Warrior should be getting involved in a match with the Undertaker just a day before WrestleMania, but Perfect thought it was a great decision on the Warrior’s part. McMahon questioned why Perfect thought this, which Perfect responded by saying that Warrior could hope to get injured and get out of the beating he was going to suffer at the hands of the Undertaker and Jake Roberts at WrestleMania VIII. McMahon doubted Warrior had anything like that on his mind. Sean Mooney interviewed Bret Hart backstage. Hart said he should be focusing on other things, like his Intercontinental Title match at WrestleMania, but he saw what happened to the Bushwhackers earlier on in the show. He knew Owen Hart wanted to win his first championship, but the Natural Disasters were promising to injure his brother, and that was something he could not stand for. He told Jim Neidhart that he better not be getting himself in too deep because he was holding him personally responsible for Owen’s welfare. The Mountie defeated Bill Wood when Wood passed out in the Carotid Control Technique in 0:02:07. Rating: ** The Mountie cut an insert promo with Jimmy Hart. The Mountie claimed that Shawn Michaels revealed Marty Jannetty’s dastardly ways, and it made Jannetty climb high up on the list of men that needed the strong arm of the law. And as we all know, the Mountie always gets his man. The Carotid Control Technique resulted in the Mountie’s opponent unconscious on the mat. The cattle prod came into play after the match which sent Bill Wood off on a stretcher. The Barber Shop was set up by the entrance way for the next segment. Brutus Beefcake introduced Kevin Von Erich as a wrestling legend from Texas. Kevin thanked the crowd for the ovation, but the reason he was here was for his brother Kerry. Kevin acknowledged that his family’s history has been marred with tragedy. He refused to let go of another one of his family members. He knew that Papa Shango had some sort of curse on his brother because Kerry would never act this way. He demanded that Kerry come out on talk to him, brother to brother. Kevin Von Erich waited for a few seconds when the lights began to flicker. Kerry Von Erich emerged from the entrance, but he was not alone, as Papa Shango and Luna Vachon were by his side. Kevin paid no attention to them as he pleaded with Kerry to talk to him. Kerry did not listen as he slowly came face to face with Kevin. Kevin finally had enough and said he would knock some sense into him. Kevin nailed Kerry with a Tornado Punch, much like the maneuver Kerry had been using, but Kerry only dropped to one knee. Kevin yelled at Kerry to wake up, but he was unable to say much more before Shango leveled him from behind with his voodoo cane. Kevin Von Erich fell to his knees and was eye to eye with his brother, Kerry. Kerry Von Erich showed no regret as he applied the Iron Claw on Kevin! Kevin screamed in pain as Kerry tightened his grip, and Papa Shango and Luna Vachon started to chant. Within seconds, a green goo started to leak from Kevin’s forehead. Brutus Beefcake had seen enough and called for some officials to help break it up, but the damage had already been done. Shango and Vachon walked away laughing as Kerry Von Erich followed closely thereafter with a blank look on his face. Beefcake checked on Kevin Von Erich, but he looked pretty woozy as he got to his feet. The Heavenly Bodies (Jimmy Del Ray and Tom Prichard) defeated Jimmy Snuka and Koko B. Ware when J. Del Ray pinned Koko with the Moonsault in 0:07:38. Rating: ** ¾ Jim Cornette joined the commentary team of Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect for this match. After Perfect and Cornette exchanged pleasantries, Cornette went on a tirade about how undeserving the New Foundation are to be given the World Tag Team Title shot at WrestleMania VIII. Cornette boasted the Heavenly Bodies were more agile, stronger, and smarter than the New Foundation, not to mention the Heavenly Bodies would bring the ladies to any show that they are on, while the New Foundation sends them running and screaming in droves. Cornette promised that if the two teams ever met in the ring, the Heavenly Bodies would prove just who the new up and coming tag team is in the WWF. The match itself was a nice back and forth encounter with neither team getting the advantage for very long. “The Doctor of Desire” was eventually able to slam Koko B. Ware into the mat with a Doctor Bomb which kept him in place for the Moonsault by “Gigolo” Jimmy Del Ray. Jimmy Snuka tried to make the save, but Tom Prichard was there to hold him back. A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired where he ran down the upcoming World Title match between Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. He admitted that not since Hogan met Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III has the media been in such an uproar for a single match. The world is waiting to see just who the best wrestler in the world is. Okerlund said Hogan had these words to say after watching Prime Time Wrestling this week. A pre-recorded promo from Hulk Hogan was shown. Hogan said he watched Flair’s title defense against Earthquake very closely. He wanted Flair to know that his golden horseshoe wouldn’t work on him. He knew Perfect and Heenan would be in his ear before the match, giving him a master game plan, but Hogan had been through it all before. He applauded their efforts in defeating Earthquake, but what was he going to do against the Hulkster with the millions of Hogan fans cheering him on all around the globe? He wanted Flair to ask “the Weasel” how many times he was able to lead a guy to defeating the Hulkster? Hogan said the answer was zero. Hogan wanted Flair to ask Perfect how many times he was able to pin Hogan’s shoulders to the mat? Hogan said the answer was zero. Hogan told Flair that he might think he has it all in the bag with Perfect and Heenan by his side, but he has played their game before and has never lost. He didn’t plan on that changing at WrestleMania VIII. Perfect told Hogan he never had to deal with somebody like Flair, and he was sorely mistaken if he thought he was going to be able to walk out of WrestleMania as the champion. McMahon disagreed as Hogan has always come out on top when the odds looked insurmountable. IRS came down to the ring with a microphone in hand. He announced that since Tatanka was too chicken to get into the ring with him, he would use this time to remind everyone that the day to file your income taxes was coming up, April 15th. He thought he needed to remind everyone in the arena since he saw a few known tax cheats here today. IRS continued for a few more seconds when Tito Santana made his way down to the ring. Tito told IRS to shut this mouth because he was sick of hearing him talk about something he knew nothing about. Santana saw what happened to Tatanka earlier on in the show, and IRS had proven once and for all what a despicable human being he was. Tito said he knew that Tatanka was an upstanding US citizen, but he had his doubts about IRS. He said that if IRS felt so strongly about a person’s tax records then he should show his own! IRS did not look happy as he told Santana that he would not be mocked by an illegal immigrant, who evade taxes and make the wealthy, like himself, pay it for them. Santana did not let IRS get another word in before he blasted him with a right hand. A flurry of punches later and IRS was sent sailing from the ring. Tito demanded IRS get back in the ring, but IRS did not seem willing. A referee came down the aisle and talked to Howard Finkel. It was announced that since IRS had been scheduled to be in the feature bout this evening, and it was his fault there was no match, that he would be forced to compete with Tito Santana right now! IRS threw a fit on the outside, but there was nothing he could say to change things. IRS would be going one on one with Tito Santana – next! IRS pinned Tito Santana with the Write-Off in 0:09:53. Rating: ** 1/2 (Tatanka no-showed.) Tito Santana looked like had this match well in hand, but he missed the El Paso Del Muerte. In doing so, he clotheslined himself on the top rope. IRS quickly capitalized and a few seconds later was able to hit the Write-Off lariat to get the three count. IRS readjusted his tie before grabbing his briefcase and leaving the ring area. Vince McMahon hoped Tatanka would be back in action soon because Vince knew that Tatanka wanted to get his hands on IRS. Perfect seriously doubted Tatanka would want anything to do with IRS after he witnessed what just happened to Tito Santana. Vince McMahon made sure everyone knew to tune in to Prime Time Wrestling as we get closer and closer to WrestleMania VIII. WWF Notes: This coming Monday on Prime Time Wrestling, Marty Jannetty will face off against the former Intercontinental Champion, the Mountie! Shawn Michaels has told Jannetty that, if he can defeat the Mountie, he will sign on the dotted line for a match at WrestleMania VIII. Jake Roberts has a video he would like to show Randy Savage on Prime Time. And in the main event of the evening, Roddy Piper will continue to showcase that he is a fighting champion when he defends his Intercontinental Title against Rick “The Model” Martel! That match is sure to be explosive, and one you do not want to miss. And the Road to WrestleMania is getting shorter and shorter! Next week on Superstars!, the New Foundation will take on the Heavenly Bodies! Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart apparently took exception to Jim Cornette’s statement and wants to prove they deserve that World Tag Team Title shot. And in the feature bout, the Big Boss Man has challenged Greg Valentine to meet him in one on one action. Valentine has accepted, and Boss Man will get his chance at some revenge. Be sure to tune in next Saturday! And in two weeks on Superstars!, the Undertaker faces off against the Ultimate Warrior. It will definitely be a match for the ages, especially with them meeting in the ring at WrestleMania just one day later. WrestleMania VIII (4/5/92):
World Heavyweight Title: Ric Flair© (w/Mr. Perfect) vs. Hulk Hogan
Intercontinental Title: Roddy Piper© vs. Bret Hart
Tag Team Titles: The Natural Disasters© (w/Jimmy Hart) vs. The New Foundation
Tag Team Grudge Match: Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior vs. The Undertaker (w/Paul Bearer) and Jake Roberts

I enjoyed the touch of realism that was the "this footage was so graphic we had to get clearance before we could show it" segment. Before WWE's recent jump to PG, a guy getting whacked with a foreign object and bleeding was an everyday occurrence, but back in 1992, they made a huge screamin' deal out of it. I also thought "bellowed" was a very apt way to describe something said by an angry Earthquake.
I'm interested to see where you go with the Undertaker leading up to and immediately following Wrestlemania. If I'm getting my history correct, the fans were hot to cheer for 'Taker as early as the beginning of 1992, and while the real-life WWF turned him face shortly thereafter thanks to the reshuffling of the 'Mania card that occurred when the Ric Flair-Hulk Hogan match was scrapped, you've still got him as a heel necessary to counteract Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior. My immediate thought was that Jake "The Snake" Roberts will draw 'Taker's ire after they lose to Savage and Warrior at 'Mania, thus motivating 'Taker to turn face, but another intriguing possibility is that 'Taker remains heel by ramping up the heelishness so the fans will stop trying to cheer him.

I'm still amazed at how much fun you make commentators to read. Hell, the commentators push so much of the angles. They're such a huge part, and it makes this a fun and unique read.
Great way to write around the Tatanka no-show. Not only that, but it lets what has been an interesting feud continue on. IRS/Tatanka at Mania?
Warrior/Taker day before Mania? Nice... and I wonder what Roberts' video will be. I'm guessing it's creepy hidden footage of Liz, but we shall see.
I like the layers with the IC Title match at Mania. Is Bret going to be distracted by worrying too much about Owen's well-being, and how is Owen going to respond to Bret babying him?

Garth: I don't think blading was outright banned at this point, just rarely used. I kind of liked it at this point where blading could happen, but it was rare. I don't need somebody bleeding in every match, but I do like the possibility of it unlike the current WWE. I was going to use "shouted" or "yelled" but I just thought "bellowed" sounded more like 'quake. Glad you agreed. The Undertaker is a tricky guy for me. There isn't a spot for him in the World Title scene just yet, but he was massively over at this point. You're right, he will have to either become far more evil or turn face. It's kind of like taking over the WWF in March of '97. You have Austin, who is a heel, but the fans really want to cheer him. And I know the WWF kept him busy by giving him some bizarre feuds, but I don't really know if that's the way I want to go. Ryan: I'm surprised you mentioned the commentators for this show, as I usually try to utilize them more on Prime Time. McMahon and Perfect are a fun duo to write, however, with the back and forth. I'm surprised I've kept up with the commentators since I normally hate writing anything but the matches and angles. But they have come in handy to get angles over and make sure that I clear up any confusion with them. If I ever write a paragraph and realize that if I didn't have my booking notes that it might not make sense, I am sure to throw in a few words from Vince, Perfect, Heenan, or Monsoon. I had another plan to extend the IRS/Tatanka feud, but I had to roll with the no-show. Kind of disappointing, but it did the trick. I love giving guys multiple angles to run with. Bret, so far, has been fun to write since he has so much going on. Same with Perfect. Dale: Thanks, I hope WrestleMania doesn't disappoint. It's always tricky with the headline PPV of the year since you are ending so many feuds and having to continue others. Thanks for all of the comments, guys!

Really good show, it is as others mention, really intricately set up with several small feuds, cross-angles and of course brilliantly written commentators. I also loved the way you "wrote out" Tatanka earlier in the show by going back and changing your notes. Usually, the no-show comes as a surprise and has to be explained right before the match.

Thanks, Rey. The Tatanka no-show was a little bit of a letdown as I preferred the original way I had booked it. The feud was going to continue regardless, but I just liked my original booking. Glad to see the impromptu booking worked though.

Prime Time Wrestling Stamford, CT |March 23 1992 Host: Vince McMahon Discussion Panel: Gorilla Monsoon, Bobby Heenan, Mr. Perfect Commentators for Matches: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan, Vince McMahon and Mr. Perfect, Sean Mooney and Lord Alfred HayesVince McMahon welcomed all of the viewers to Prime Time Wrestling. McMahon talked about what a great night of action was lined up, including Roddy Piper defending his Intercontinental Title against “The Model” Rick Martel and Marty Jannetty facing off against the Mountie for the chance to wrestle Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania VIII. Bobby Heenan thought the odds were that this was the first match Jannetty hoped he would come out as the loser. Gorilla Monsoon thought the idea was preposterous, but Heenan told Monsoon that there was no way that Jannetty wanted to get into the ring with Shawn Michaels. McMahon disagreed, wondering why Jannetty would challenge Michaels if he did not want to wrestle him at WrestleMania? Mr. Perfect laughed and claimed Jannetty was just that stupid. McMahon also said he had heard Ric Flair was complaining to President Jack Tunney about his recent schedule. McMahon said Flair wanted to know why he was wrestling on Prime Time and Superstars! nearly every week while Hulk Hogan was not. Monsoon said it was ridiculous for Flair to claim that, especially since it was Mr. Perfect’s fault that he had to wrestle Earthquake last week. Perfect took exception to what Monsoon was saying, but McMahon cut him off by saying President Tunney had agreed with Flair. Monsoon was flabbergasted at Tunney’s ruling, but he became even more irate when McMahon announced that Flair would be allowed to choose the person that would face Hulk Hogan next week on Prime Time Wrestling. Perfect and Heenan laughed hysterically while Monsoon complained about what a horrible decision this was from Jack Tunney. McMahon warned him that he better watch his words or he may see a fine head his way. McMahon said we would hear later on in the show about who Flair had decided to wrestle Hogan. McMahon went to ask Perfect a question, but Perfect was already on the phone that sits at their table, apparently talking to Ric Flair. Warlord and Hercules defeated Bill Wood and Scott Sommers when Hercules made Wood submit to the Backbreaker in 0:04:03. Rating: * ¼ Warlord and Hercules showed pretty good team work this week as they slowly dismantled their opponents. Every chance Harvey Wippleman had, he was in their ears talking strategy. After the match, Wippleman told the camera that Big Boss Man better be worried because they were coming after him. McMahon pondered Boss Man’s future in the WWF with Warlord, Hercules, and Greg Valentine all having their sights on him. Perfect complimented Wippleman on being able to combine all three men’s talents and forming a group that he hadn’t seen since the days of the Heenan Family. Heenan agreed with Perfect, saying the Boss Man should take the smart way out and get out of the WWF while he can. Monsoon looked forward to seeing Boss Man wrestle Greg Valentine on Superstars! this weekend, and he hoped that the Boss Man had lined up a couple of friends to watch his back. The Berzerker defeated Pete Sanchez by countout in 0:03:36. Rating: * ¼ The Berzerker, once again, had his opponent beat in the ring, but instead of going for the pinfall, he tossed him over the top rope and to the floor for the countout victory. After the match, the Berzerker ran rampant around ringside, tossing around anything and everything he could get his hands on. He even chased Howard Finkel around the ring once or twice. Officials stormed the area to try and subdue the crazed man, but surprisingly enough, it was Slick who was finally able to calm him down. The Berzerker left the ring area with Slick by his side. Who only knows what Slick was able to say to get the Berzerker’s attention? A WWF Update! with “Mean” Gene Okerlund aired. Okerlund focused in on the altercation that occurred between Davey Boy Smith and Ted DiBiase last week. A video clip aired of Davey Boy backdropping DiBiase over the top rope while the Barbarian and “Sensational” Sherri did not intervene. Okerlund said DiBiase was furious backstage, and he had fallen back on his favorite henchman for hire, the Repo Man, to get his revenge. “The British Bulldog” is never one to back down from a fight, so he accepted the challenge rather quickly. Okerlund sent it to the ring where these two men would collide in the ring. Davey Boy Smith defeated Repo Man by disqualification in 0:07:02. Rating: * ½ Davey Boy Smith had his hands full with Repo Man, a guy who will use every cheap shot in the book to get the advantage in a match. Still, DBS was able to drop Repo with a delayed vertical suplex. This looked like it was going to lead to the Running Powerslam, but Repo Man had other ideas as he grabbed his golden tow rope and nailed DBS in the throat with the hook. DBS fell to the mat, clutching at his throat and gasping for air. The referee had no choice but to call for the disqualification. After the match was over, Ted DiBiase, the Barbarian, and “Sensational” Sherri came down to ringside. Barbarian held Davey Boy in place as Repo Man teed off on “the Bulldog.” DiBiase kept shouting at DBS if this was funny now? “The Million Dollar Man” and his entourage left Davey Boy lying in the ring, trying to use the ropes to get back to his feet. Back in the WWF studios, McMahon was not happy with what he had seen. He said it was just another example of the dirty tactics that DiBiase will use to get ahead. Perfect, on the other hand, said it was appropriate considering the way Davey Boy treated DiBiase last week. Monsoon told Perfect to try and be a sport’s journalist and stop showing favoritism, but Heenan cut him off since he thought Monsoon always showed favoritism towards guys like Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior. McMahon said Davey Boy Smith was revealed to be okay after he was checked out by the medical staff, but he had had it with “the Million Dollar Man” and his stable of lackeys. He was demanding the chance to get his hands on Ted DiBiase, and President Tunney had agreed to face them off at WrestleMania VIII! Skinner pinned Robbie Sampson with the Gatorbreaker in 0:02:35. Rating: ** Skinner, whom we haven’t seen in two weeks due to Kerry Von Erich, looked rather paranoid during his match tonight. He kept looking towards the entranceway, apparently afraid that Papa Shango might make an appearance at any time. Skinner finished his opponent off with the Gatorbreaker before hauling his butt out of the ring and to the back. Vince McMahon reminded everyone about what happened two weeks ago when Kerry Von Erich applied the Iron Claw onto Skinner and black goo started to leak from Skinner’s forehead. We then went to a clip from Superstars! last Saturday where Kerry, Papa Shango, and Luna Vachon brutally attacked Kevin Von Erich at the Barber Shop. Monsoon said he had contacted the Von Erich family as he is a close family friend, and Kevin Von Erich had not returned home after Superstars! Instead, he has decided to show up this week, once again, on Superstars! and will have something to say. Heenan hoped Kevin was going to announce he was leaving wrestling and taking that freak, Kerry Von Erich, with him. McMahon told Heenan to watch his mouth in case Papa Shango was listening which freaked out Heenan. Heenan kept looking over his shoulder to make sure Shango did not make a surprise appearance. A video package aired featuring a new tag team, QuickFire, debuting soon in the WWF. The team consists of Shane Douglas and Tom Zenk, both former WWF stars, but their history was not mentioned. The video showed them working out in the gym and several clips of them dominating some tag team matches with a various combination of dropkicks, armdrags, and other aerial maneuvers. The package ended with the viewing audience being told to look for them soon. Roddy Piper pinned Rick Martel after a small package in 0:09:37. Rating: *** 1/2 (Roddy Piper retained the WWF Intercontinental Title.) After a referee bump, Rick Martel grabbed a chair and looked like he was going to smash it over Roddy Piper’s head. Luckily for Piper, Bret Hart ran down the aisle and got in the way. He wrestled the chair from Martel’s grasp and threw it to the outside. Piper turned Hart around to explain that he had everything in control, but this gave Martel the opening to grab his perfume gun filled with Arrogance cologne. Martel went to spray it into Piper’s eyes, but Piper was able to grab a hold of Hart and pull him into the blast! Bret Hart got an eyeful of whatever is in that bottle, and he quickly fell to the mat, hollering out in pain. Hart clawed at his eyes as Martel went to spray Piper. Piper was ready for it, however, as he ducked under and dropkicked the perfume gun out of Martel’s hand. As Martel went over to grab it, Piper rolled him up in a small package just as the referee came to and slapped a quick three count on the mat. Piper grabbed his Intercontinental Title, quickly checked on Bret Hart, and left the ring with the title on his shoulder. Martel continued to argue with the referee about a fast count while several medical staff ran down to give Bret Hart some water to wash out his eyes. In the WWF studios, McMahon said he had Ric Flair on the line, and he was going to announce who Hulk Hogan’s opponent would be next week on Prime Time Wrestling. Both Perfect and Heenan had huge grins on their faces, apparently already knowing who Flair had chosen. Ric Flair came over the speakerphone saying how great it felt to be the Man in the WWF. He had proven time and again that he was the best thing going today, and Hogan was just a wannabe. He reiterated that while he was wrestling all around the globe, Hogan was sitting on his butt, making movies, and living the life of the rich and famous. Flair admitted he lived that life as well, but the difference was he would give it all up in a second for his wrestling career. Monsoon cut in, asking why Flair was nowhere to be seen when Hogan was out visiting sick children in the hospitals and touring with the Armed Forces overseas? Monsoon told Flair that Hogan had done more for this business, the fans, and the WWF than Flair could ever do in a multiple amount of lifetimes. Flair told McMahon that the fat boy better shut up or he was hanging up the phone. McMahon calmed Monsoon down as Flair said he was given the right to choose an opponent for Hogan next week on Prime Time. Flair said since he had to face Earthquake last week, it was only fair that Hogan faced an equally tough challenge. Flair said he had chosen the Warlord! Flair wanted to see Hogan squeal in pain in the Full Nelson just days before he’d be forced to do the same in the Figure-Four Leglock. Flair called it an appetizer. Flair hoped Hogan wouldn’t be too broken down come WrestleMania because he was looking forward to being the one to put Hogan out of wrestling for good. McMahon was shocked that Flair chose the Warlord. Monsoon feared for Hogan’s safety since Warlord would also have Harvey Wippleman at his side, and he knows that Wippleman is out to prove himself as a real threat in the WWF. Perfect laughed as he said that Flair always makes the right decisions. Heenan told the panel that the Warlord had been on an amazing run of victories as of late, and it is mostly because of the Full Nelson. Heenan practically salivated at the idea of Warlord hooking the Full Nelson onto Hulk Hogan since he knew that no one can break that hold. A pre-recorded segment aired with the New Foundation in their locker room. Owen Hart told Bret Hart, a little more sternly this time, he appreciated the concern, but he is not a rookie anymore, and he can handle himself. Jim Neidhart knew that Bret Hart had put his trust in him, and he was not going to let his former partner down. Neidhart thought his team with Owen, as hard as it is to believe, was better than the Hart Foundation ever was, so Bret had nothing to worry about. Owen claimed that Bret Hart sounded a lot like another guy in the WWF, Jim Cornette. Neither of them have any belief in just what the New Foundation can do. He was going to prove it on Superstars! to Jim Cornette when they defeat the Heavenly Bodies, and he would hopefully be able to show what he is capable of to Bret Hart when they win the Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. Owen said he fully believed that Typhoon, Earthquake, and Jimmy Hart were responsible for attacking Neidhart last week on Prime Time, and they knew it was because they were scared of having to face the New Foundation in a straight up tag team match. Owen told the Natural Disasters they are big and strong, but the New Foundation have the will and desire, and they would be walking out of WrestleMania as tag team champions. The New Foundation (Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart) defeated Bob Morgan and Dale Wolfe when O. Hart defeated Wolfe with the Rocket Launcher in 0:04:45. Rating: ** Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies cut an insert promo during the match. Cornette did all the talking, promising the WWF would see who the real up and coming tag team is on Superstars! He said the New Foundation had no chance against the best tag team he had ever seen, Tom Prichard and Jimmy Del Ray. The New Foundation had a tag team match to showcase their talents here tonight. They looked as crisp as ever, winning the match with the Rocket Launcher. Back in the WWF studios, Randy Savage joined the discussion panel. Heenan and Perfect tried to say something to Savage, but he immediately told them to be quiet. He demanded McMahon show him the video that Jake Roberts had said he would show on tonight’s show. McMahon said he had not seen the video yet, but he would tell the production team to show it now. Jake Roberts is seen in front of a house with several windows. It is dark outside, but there was light coming through one of the downstairs windows. Roberts said he wished it hadn’t come to this, but he could resist his urges no longer. He said he could feel the need, the want, the desire radiate out of Elizabeth after he laid his hands on her at Tuesday in Texas. And tonight, he was going to take the next step in their relationship. The camera zoomed in on the window which saw Elizabeth in a nightgown, sitting on a couch, reading a book. Roberts promised he wouldn’t keep her up past her bedtime. Savage lost it when the camera went back to the discussion panel. Savage burst out of his chair and turned the large table over on its side. He grabbed Perfect by his jacket and tossed him to the ground. He then grabbed Heenan and demanded if he knew anything about this. Heenan shook his head in fear, pleading for his life. Savage stormed off the set as McMahon walked over to help Perfect up. McMahon sent it to commercial as viewers could hear Savage tossing things off camera and screaming that he was going to kill Jake Roberts. When we came back from commercials, McMahon said Elizabeth had been contacted and she was okay. In fact, she revealed that it had been raining at their house the last few days, so the video had been taped earlier this week. Savage had already left the building to catch a flight home. Monsoon wanted to know just what could be going through Roberts’ mind. McMahon said this video just proved Roberts was the most evil and vile person on the planet. Heenan complained about his neck being sore from Savage grabbing him while Perfect was grinning from ear to ear. Perfect said Savage proved he would be incapable of defeating the Undertaker and Jake Roberts at WrestleMania because his anger would get the best of him. McMahon reiterated that Miss Elizabeth was okay as he sent it to the ring where Jake Roberts’ partner, the Undertaker, would be in action. The Undertaker pinned Ian Weston with the Tombstone in 0:01:11. Rating: ** Paul Bearer pushed down a casket that had the Ultimate Warrior’s name printed on it before the match could begin. After the Undertaker won his match, he Gorilla Pressed his opponent into the open casket. The Undertaker and Paul Bearer were obviously sending a signal for the Warrior, but the Ultimate Warrior has never shown fear for anyone. Marty Jannetty pinned The Mountie after a flying sunset flip in 0:12:33. Rating: **** ¼ Shawn Michaels, along with Jimmy Hart, accompanied the Mountie to the ring for this match. If Marty Jannetty could defeat the Mountie, Michaels would be forced to wrestle Jannetty at WrestleMania VIII. A great back and forth encounter led up to Shawn Michaels trying to get involved. Jannetty nailed him with a superkick while he was on the apron, however, taking him out of the match altogether. Later, it looked like the Mountie was going to finish Jannetty off with a superplex, but Jannetty was able to push him off the top rope. When the Mountie was back to his feet, Jannetty came sailing off with a sunset flip that surprised the Mountie long enough to get the three count. After the match, Shawn Michaels threw a temper tantrum back up the aisle as Jannetty grabbed a ringside microphone. He told Michaels to keep on walking until he got to WrestleMania because that’s where they were headed. Michaels seemed to be in disbelief while Jannetty clapped hands with the fans at ringside. Vince McMahon was ecstatic that Jannetty would be facing Michaels at WrestleMania VIII. Heenan thought it was a disgrace since Michaels should be doing far better things with his time. Perfect said it was just a small speed bump on what was going to be a long, illustrious career. Monsoon thought Jannetty would have so much momentum on his side that Michaels would need to get lucky to get past his former partner. Heenan, Monsoon, and Perfect continued to argue over which former Rocker would come out of WrestleMania as the victor while McMahon said his goodbyes to the viewing audience. WWF Notes: This Saturday on Superstars!, the New Foundation will take on the Heavenly Bodies! Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart apparently took exception to Jim Cornette’s words on Superstars! last week and wants to prove they deserve that World Tag Team Title shot. Kevin Von Erich is back on Superstars! this weekend, but nobody is quite sure as to why. Apparently, he will have an interview segment with Sean Mooney. Papa Shango, Kerry Von Erich, and Luna Vachon will be in the arena, and one has to worry for Kevin’s well-being. And in the feature bout, the Big Boss Man has challenged Greg Valentine to meet him in one on one action. Valentine has accepted, and Boss Man will get his chance at some revenge. Be sure to tune in this Saturday! Next week on Prime Time Wrestling, we will be in the week of WrestleMania VIII! Ric Flair argued that it was unfair that he had to defend his World Heavyweight Championship last week while Hulk Hogan has been able to take it easy. President Tunney agreed with Flair and has signed a match for Hogan next week where he will face the Warlord. Warlord has been on a very impressive run as of late, and with Harvey Wippleman by his side, he might be able to pull off quite the upset. Also, in action will be Shawn Michaels as he goes one on one with Sgt. Slaughter. This has to be one of the biggest matches Michaels has had since he turned his back on Marty Jannetty. Bret Hart will wrestle Jake “the Snake” Roberts! Everyone will be looking to gain some momentum as it will be just six days until WrestleMania! And the Road to WrestleMania grows closer.
Marty Jannetty vs. Shawn Michaels
Ted DiBiase (w/The Barbarian and “Sensational” Sherri) vs. Davey Boy Smith

Mania continues to look like a great card. HBK/Jannetty should be a great match and hopefully be just the beginning of a lengthy feud.
I also really like the Bulldog/DiBiase match. A good, simple setup for the feud is sometimes a good thing. One guy thinks another guy wronged him or embarrassed him, so we have a match. Perfect. Maybe some mention of Bulldog making the Million Dollar Man the first wrestler eliminated from the 1992 Rumble?
Flair getting to pick the opponent for Hogan was a nice touch, as was choosing Warlord. Warlord has been built up well, and he's someone that can put a beating on Hogan, still lose, and not really hurt his stock in the company, but adding a nice element of intrigue to the main event at Mania.
Good tv coming up as well. Hooray for this!

Ryan:
Yeah, sometimes I like doing a simple feud instead of having to brainstorm an angle. DBS and DiBiase are a couple of guys that can carry an angle on their own without the need for a lot of extras.
Thanks for the comments, Ryan.
