The United States Wrestling Association was created on September 1st 1990. When World Class Championship Wrestling severed ties with the Mid South office, the birth of this circuit took place under the leadership of Eddie Marlin. The early years of the USWA can be seen weekdays on ESPN Classic. Shows are updated on the USWA website. In 1997 the company shut its doors after a 7 year run in the Mid South, low attendance and losing a television deal left the ownership group with no choice. On November 4th, 2000 under a new 100% majority owner Randy Hales, the USWA once again reemerged. Randy had a vision to bring back the company that was so popular in the 90's. With ECW and WCW ready to fall, Randy saw an opportunity to bring the company into the spotlight. With an aggressive plan to run TV, international tours, PPV and signing high profile free agent talent to exclusive deals, the USWA was back. You can read up on the history of this promotion from November 2000-2002Below we start with the biggest show of 2002, A Night to Remember and continue on.

USWA "A Night to Remember" 2002 Live on PPV from The Scott Trade Arena New Europe (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) defeated PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) when Smith made J.C. Ice submit to a rear naked choke in 0:07:33. Rating: *** The PPV started out with a hot tag match. PG-13, who just can't seem to be stopped on TV, suffer a loss when J.C. Ice had to tap to a nasty Rear Naked Choke AKA The Tazmission. Harry Smith used Taz finisher to teach PG-13 a lesson during their run in at Halloween Havoc. Ahmed Johnson pinned Mike Awesome with the Pearl River Plunge in 0:07:19. Rating: * 1/2 Two big powerhouses in the USWA Ahmed Johnson and Mike Awesome came to blows in our second match on the show. Johnson was in some trouble, he rolled out of the ring and made a phonecall on his cell phone. After he regrouped he got back into the ring and hit Awesome with the Pearl River Plunge to get the victory. Bobby Fish pinned Delirious with the Falcon Arrow in 0:07:16. Rating: *** 1/2 Bobby Fish continues his winning ways with a big singles victory over Delirious, finishing him off with his Falcon Arrow submission. MatchLoser-Leaves-Town Match Chris Harris pinned Trevor Murdoch with the Catatonic in 0:14:19. Rating: *** With the Sandman at ringside, Bobby Duncam Jr took one attempt to interfere in the match when Murdoch had the momentum, but the Sandman made his presence felt when he caned the living hell out of BDJ until he ran to the back. The brawl outside the ring became a distraction to Murdoch and Harrris was able to take advantage of that when he hit the Catatonic. Trevor Murdoch now joins James Storm on the unemployment line. After the match Sandman jumped in the ring and started brawling with Chris Harris. Harris and Sandman brawled to the back of the arena. Triangle Match Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel McGuinness defeated South of the Border (Universo 2000 and Super Crazy) and Latin Lover and Psicosis : x U. Guerrero beat Psicosis via the Ultimo Guerrero-Plex in 0:14:50 x U. Guerrero beat Universo 2000 via a waistlock suplex in 0:18:37 Rating: *** 3/4 (Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel McGuinness retained the Tag Team Titles.) [Mexicos Most Wanted interfered against South of the Border] The Triangle match for the Tag Titles ended in another victory for Guerrero and McGuinness. Say what you want about how these two were formed, they have gotten into a groove and have defended the titles against all comers the last few months. The biggest news out of this match was the return/debut of Mexico's Most Wanted, Damian 666 and Halloween who took to the ring and attacked Super Crazy and Universo 2000. These guys have had a feud in Mexico for the past year, and now it looks like Mexico's Most Wanted have made their way to the USWA. Too Cold Scorpio pinned Colt Cabana after a Frankensteiner in 0:10:36. Rating: *** 3/4 (Too Cold Scorpio retained the X Division Title.) Too Cold Scorpio had an impressive victory over Colt Cabana in the X-Division Title match. Scorpio continues to dominate the X-Division, even after Cabana proved to be the best contender with his 3 way dance victories all month long. Cage Match Steve Corino and Jerry Lynn defeated Steve Bradley and Sean Waltman by escaping the cage in 0:13:38. Rating: *** 1/2 Lynn and Corino extracted a little revenge by escaping the cage and getting the victory over turncoat Steve Bradley, and bitter rival Sean Waltman. Bradley left the ring a bloody mess, as Corino took it to him with everything he had. Jerry Lynn can hold his head high as this is the first major victory he's had over his rivals since they made their way to the USWA. Ultimate X match 7 of 7 in the Best of 7 Series Low-Ki defeated CM Punk in 0:18:12. Rating: *** 1/4 [Trinity interfered against CM Punk.] In what can only be thought of as a SHOCKER to the USWA, Low-Ki's former manager/girlfriend returns to the USWA and hits Punk with a devistating AXE kick to the head, allowing her boyfriend Low-Ki to make his way to the center of the X and grab the Global Title contract. We haven't seen Trinity in the USWA since after The Sandman feud back in April! After the match Trinity and Low-Ki made out in the middle of the ring and continued to lay a beating on CM Punk until Colt Cabana and Delirious ran to the ring and ran Low-Ki and Trinity to the back. Christopher Daniels pinned AJ Styles with the Spicy Drop in 0:07:42. Rating: *** 3/4 (Christopher Daniels retained the Global Title.) Another huge victory over a major player in the USWA, Daniels continues to add major names to his victory list. Styles gave it his all, but Daniels has been amazing. How will Daniels deal with Low-Ki and Trinity on his next title defense? Casket Match Vampiro defeated Jerry Lawler in 0:10:44. Rating: *** Jerry Lawlers mind games were not good enough to beat Vampiro at his own game. Vampiro was able to get the victory over Lawler by stuffing him in the casket. Lawler was never able to get a victory over Vampiro, and now he's lost his job as president. Cage Match Raven defeated Samoa Joe by escaping the cage in 0:14:58. Rating: **** 1/4 [Jun Akiyama attacks Raven after the match] The biggest news of the Pay-Per-View, Jun Akiyama shows up in St. Louis and attacks Raven after his victory on Samoa Joe. The fans are going absolutley nuts at the fact that Jun is back in the USWA, if only for 1 night! After Akiyama beat Raven to a pulp he looks at Samoa Joe and the two embrace in the middle of the ring! Raven won the battle, but something tells us the war has just begun, and the most popular heavyweight champion in the history of the USWA is back! 3-way Dance Taz won a 3-man Battle Royal: x Taz defeated Morley after the Tazmission in 0:10:18 x Taz defeated Hermann after the Tazmission in 0:22:18 Rating: ***** (Taz retained the Heavyweight Title.) It was a main event that we only found out about last night, it was a main event we will be discussing for the rest of our lives. The Human Suplex Machine TAZ defeats both Ulf Herman, with St. Louis Legend Harley Race by his side, and Sean Morley, in the middle of the ring, making both men TAP to the Tazmission! Taz defends his title once again on Pay Per View, and is going into the last month of the year as a strong candidate for wrestler of the year! Backstage Notes: Overall the show went off well. Our Main Event will go down as match of the year in most peoples eyes. We have had other 5 star matches, but with the Heavyweight Title on the line, with Harley Race at ringside, on our first PPV, this match was the most meaningful 5 star match in company history. USWA officials felt that the PPV came on so quick we didn't have enough time to properly hype up the show, but it was a sucess none the less. We will return to PPV in January with New Years Resolution 2003, our second annual event. Jun Akiyama is finally back with the company. He quit in July and the USWA continued to negotiate his comeback asap. He is just too valuable to the USWA to quit, but it took multiple sessions of negotiations until he returned. He is on a 30+ show contract. The USWA now has 6 out of the 7 Heavyweight champions working for the company, and rumor is they will all be involved in an angle to start off the 2003 season. Next month the USWA will present Christmas Chaos. We know that Low-Ki will take on Christopher Daniels for the Global title. A Main Event has not yet been announced, but it will be at the next TV taping. Rumor has it, we are looking at a 5 on 5 WAR GAMES match to end the year.

Yea Mike has had a rough first two matches in the USWA, but I do plan on using him in a different way. Ahmed is going to be a Main Event guy by next year so I need to keep him strong.
Konnan and Doug Williams put on some amazing matches not to long ago, and had 5 stars, this was my first ever MAIN EVENT 5 star match. I don't know whats up with this Ulf Hermann export I'm using but the dude puts on quite a show, that or he is way over in my fed.

Jerry Lawler pinned The Christmas Creature after a Thesz press in 0:13:40. Rating: 1/2*
Local Promoter Bert Prentice came out to the announcers area to tell the fans that he heard Jerry Lawler is back as a fulltime wrestler, and with the holiday season quickly upon us, he had the perfect opponent for him! Out comes The mysterious Christmas Creature! Lawler made his way out for the first time since his devistating loss at A Night to Remember. Interview Exclusive footage of CM Punk after his loss at AN2R 2002
::Backstage::
CM Punk is frustrated about his loss to Ki and is saying that it's all over for him. Colt Cabana comes in and tells Punk to calm down, but Punk won't listen. Cabana tells him that maybe their plans didn't workout the way they wanted, but that doesn't mean their careers are totally over! Punk says he's going to take care of Trinity, and that Low-Ki can't get away with his cheap victory. Cabana tells him he needs to just let it go and move on. Cabana says battles with Low-Ki all year have taken a mental and physical toll on him and he needs to just let it be for now.
Punk agrees and ends the conversation whispering under his breath "for now".
Mike Awesome pinned Universo 2000 with the Awesome Bomb in 0:05:00. Rating: *** 1/2
Mike Awesome gets his first USWA victory over Universo 2000 tonight on Challenge. Awesome started his USWA career out slow with losses to wrestlers like Ulf Hermann and Ahmed Johnson, but his devistating Awesome Bomb proves that he is going to be a wrestler to keep your eye on as we head into 2003.
Interview Low-Ki and Trinity discuss their actions at A Night to Remember
::Low Ki and Trinity make their way to the ring::
Low Ki tells the fans to give Trinity the respect she deserves. Ki says that he has missed having Trinity by his side, but after the attack by the Sandman on her last year, he wasn't sure if she should ever be at ringside, until CM Punk and the Best of 7 match came along. Low Ki said he knew going into A Night to Remember it was make or break for someone in the USWA, and he is sorry that it had to be CM Punk, but a Global Title shot was on the line, a lot of money was on the line, and basically the future of this company was on the line in that match last week.
Low Ki tells the fans that he will not take another match with CM Punk because he is 100% focused on a new opponent in Christopher Daniels, and at Christmas Chaos he plans on ending Daniels winning streak and taking the Global Title to a new level in 2003!
Jerry Lynn pinned Sean Waltman with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:07:11. Rating: ** 1/2
In our Main Event, Jerry Lynn steps into the ring with his long time rival Sean Waltman, and gets a victory with his Cradle Piledriver finisher. Lynn gets revenge on Waltman, and continues to chop down the competition in the X-Division.

USWA Velocity TV November 23rd, 2002 Memphis, TN
Taz hits the ring!
::Taz has the Heavyweight Title on his shoulder and enters the ring::
Fans are going crazy as Taz grabs the microphone to address the crowd. Taz says that once again two more victims go down to the Tazmission, Taz proclaims that he is going to defend this title every chance he gets and become the greatest champion in USWA history. Taz goes on to talk about how he strived to become champion for over a year, and now that he's on top hes in the prime of his career, and NOBODY can stop the path of rage.
::Out come New Europe members Doug Williams, Harry Smith, Alex Shelley, and Ulf::
Taz stops them before they even get a chance to say a word, Taz says that he had a chance to watch the tag match at A Night to Remember and was impressed with the rear naked choke that Smith applied in JC Ice, then Taz tells Smith that this is how its done! With that Taz puts the Tazmission on Harry Smith as the New Europe members are in a state of shock. After a few seconds they start a beat down of the heavyweight champion.
::Williams and Shelly tie Taz up in the ropes as Ulf gets a steel chair and smashes it over Taz skull::
As Taz is helpless in the ring Doug Williams takes the mic and says he is so sick of Taz and that heavyweight title! He is sick of watching New Europes name get dragged in the mudd everytime Hermann loses a title shot. Williams says he is going to finish this thing once and for all at Christmas Chaos New Europe is going 5 ON 5 vs Taz and 4 of his own hand picked team.
::New Europe continued the attack until PG-13 and Sean Morley ran down to the ring to clean house::
Jerry Lawler heads into Jeff Jarretts office.
::Backstage in Jarretts office Lawler comes in and takes a seat::
Lawler wants to know if he can have his job as President back, but Jarrett tells Lawler that he gave up that position when he decided to step back into the squared circle. Lawler tells Jarrett he doesn't know if he still has anything left in the tank and has been out of the business for almost 2 years.
Jarrett tells Lawler that when he decided to go after Vampiro, that was the time to make that decision. From here on out if Jerry wants to be employed he will be a fulltime wrestler, and he'll be starting at the bottom of the list.
::Lawler walks out of the room a litttle concerned::
Steve Corino made Steve Bradley submit to an abdominal stretch in 0:02:39. Rating: ***
Steve Corino picks up a victory over Bradley in X-Division action. With Jerry Lynns victory over Waltman on Challenge, it looks as if the tide may be turning for the former tag team champions.
Taped Interview Raven has words for Jun Akiyama
::Raven is laying down in a bathroom somewhere in a backstage arena::
Raven says that the victory over Samoa Joe was the best healing he could get from the pain he was feeling. The attack from Akiyama was physically painful, but mentally it was satisfying. Raven says he now knows that Jun Akiyama is back in the USWA, all the begging, all the screaming, all the pleading for him to come home have finally been answered. Raven says it was almost a year ago that he won the title from him and again defeated him at Christmas Chaos 2001, this year Raven wants Samoa Joe and Akiyama to take on him and Vampiro in a tag team war at this years Christmas Chaos show.
Damien 666 and Halloween defeated Colt Cabana and Delirious when Damien 666 pinned Cabana with the Martinette in 0:12:00. Rating: **** 1/4
Making their return to the USWA, Damien 666 and Halloween get a victory over Cabana and Delirious and continue their focus on a match with Super Crazy and Universo 2000. Damien and Halloween looked great in the ring tonight showing no signs of ring rust since their last run in with the company in the 90's.
Ulf Hermann pinned Konnan with the Slingshot in 0:14:09. Rating: ****
Ulf Hermann gets a shot at former Global champion and comes away with a big victory. After the match Ulf continued to attack Konnan until he had to be stretchered out of the ring. Ulf Hermann has gone completely nuts since losing to Taz on two seperate occasions. He seems to want to destroy anyone thats in his way, accept the man he cant seem to beat, the Heavyweight Champion!
PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated Seasons Beatings (Xanta Klaus and The Christmas Creature) when J.C. Ice pinned Klaus after a short lariat in 0:07:00. Rating: * 1/2
Local Memphis wrestling promoter Bert Prentice has brought in two men known as Xanta Klaus and The Christmas Creature in an attempt to ruin the holidays of those wrestlers in the USWA. Lets just say that wasn't the case tonight as PG-13 made short work out of Berts latest tag team.
Interview Christopher Daniels talks about Low-Ki and a returning Trinity
Christopher Daniels comes out and tells everyone that AJ Styles is one of the best wrestlers he has ever faced and gave him a great challenge at A Night To Remember. Daniels says he has been watching the best of 7 series between Low-Ki and CM Punk for the last couple months. Although he had lots of respect for both men, he lost a lot of it at A Night to Remember when he saw Low-Ki stoop to an all time low letting Trinity become the deciding factor in an epic battle.
Daniels says that he will give Low-Ki a shot at the title, but if he thinks he is going to let Trinity determine the outcome of the match, he is dead wrong. Daniels says he has done everything he can to build up the reputation of the Global Title, and he won't let Low-Ki dispect him, or the list of men that have been challenging for the title during his reign. At Christmas Chaos Daniels says he will have a backup plan incase Low-Ki decides to bring Trinity to ringside.
The Sandman pinned Bobby Duncum Jr. with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:10:23. Rating: ** 3/4
After the attack on Harris and Duncum at A Night to Remember, Sandman was booked in a singles match against BDJ. Bobby is undefeated in singles action since his arrival in the USWA, until tonight. The Sandman gets the victory and becomes the first man in the USWA to beat Bobby Duncum Jr.
AJ Styles pinned Alex Shelley with the Styles Clash in 0:08:21. Rating: *** 1/4
In another X-Division matchup AJ Styles gets the pin on New Europe member Alex Shelley! Shelley looked good in singles action, but AJ was just too much for him!
Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel McGuinness and Latin Lover and Psicosis battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: **** (Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel McGuinness retained the Tag Team Titles.)
In our main event, Psicosis and Lover get a rematch for the tag titles, this time in a 2 on 2 match. They took the champions to the limits, but once again this one ends in a time limit draw! A solid main event, but once again we have yet to get a clear winner when these four men meet in the ring.
Backstage Notes:
The night started off hot with Taz being jumped and challenged to a 5 on 5 war games match to finish off the 2002 season here in the USWA. Its almost a given we will see Ulf, Harry Smith, Alex Shelley, and Doug Williams but who will be the 5th member? Now more than ever Nigel needs to come back to his roots with his fellow New Europe members.
On the other hand you have Taz who has no friends on this planet. Sean Morley will probably join the fight, and some are saying PG-13, but Taz and his 5 man team is really up in the air. Who is willing to bring the fight to New Europe?
Latin Lover and Psicosis once again take the Tag Team champions to the limit. A wild main event with the question still being asked, who is the better team? Lover and Psicosis or our Tag Team Champions?
The Sandmans victory over BDJ marks Bobbys first USWA loss in singles competition. It will be interesting to see how he bounces back.
We have several big names that have expiring contracts after our next Velocity TV taping. Konnan, Vampiro, Chris Harris and Super Crazy will all be involved in negotiations. We will have more on that story as it develops.

USWA Velocity TV Philadelphia, PA November 30th, 2002
Sean Morley finds Taz Backstage
::Backstage::
Morley catches up with Taz and tells him that it's about time a group of guys ends the run of New Europe. Sean says the faction is already in chaos because Nigel McGuinness won't even help them in a time of need. Morely tells Taz that he is willing to go to war with him in the War Games match. Taz says he knows everything comes with a price so whats the price for his services? Is this an attempt to stab him in the back so he can get a title shot or what?
Sean gives Taz his word he is willing to head into the war games match as his partner...no title shot needed. He wants to do it as a friend. Taz says hes on the team, but he doesn't need any friends...
South of the Border (Universo 2000 and Super Crazy) defeated Seasons Beatings (Xanta Klaus and The Christmas Creature) when Crazy defeated The Christmas Creature via pinfall in 0:07:52. Rating: ***
Velocity starts off with a nice tag match with South of the Border beating Seasons Beatings. Super Crazy and Universo 2000 are looking for a shot at Mexico's Most Wanted after the attack at A Night to Remember.
Ultimo Guerrero asks Nigel McGuinness to come to the ring and let him know what he is thinking of doing for Christmas Chaos.
Nigel comes in and Ultimo says the fans have a right to know what is on his mind. For the past few months Nigel has done exactly what Guerrero has asked. He has put his faction on the back burner and has dedicated himself 100% to defending the tag titles. Every month Doug Williams and New Europe are asking Nigel to come back to the group and lead them to the promise land. Now at Christmas Chaos Guerrero and Nigel have a chance to once again defend these titles and really start to make a name for themselves as one of the best tag teams to ever compete in the USWA.
Nigel tells Guerrero that he is the man that brought New Europe to the promise land. He can't help but watch the matches that take place, and every month watch Ulf Hermann squander away another shot at the gold, but he made a promise to Ulitmo Guerrero that he would focus 100% on the tag team titles and until someone can take these titles off his waist, the tag team titles are the only thing on his mind!
::Out comes Doug Williams::
Doug says he is getting really sick of Nigel constantly sitting on the side lines as the stable he created gets an ass kicking every month! Doug tells Nigel that he has come to see the true Nigel. You care about one thing, and one thing only...the gold. You want to be champion. Global, Heavyweight, X, Tag it doesn't matter! You care about nobody but yourself, and if thats the case, then he has just the deal for him, Doug Williams calls out Bill Dundee.
: Dundee enters the ring::
Bill greets everyone in the ring and tells the fans that he has seen this situation brewing for the last few months and it's about time someone makes Nigel make a decision on either leaving his stable, or becoming a full time tag team wrestler, Bill Dundee says that December 21st episode of Velocity will have a main event with the TAG TEAM TITLES ON THE LINE! This will keep Guerrero and Nigel in good standing by defending the title within 30 days.
At Christmas Chaos Ultimo Guerrero will be put in a special 6 man tag match to open the show, leaving Nigel an opportunity to compete on the show with New Europe if he chooses, and to sweeten the pot, If Nigel does compete in the War Games Main Event with his New Europe stable mates, and if he scores the deciding pin in the match winning War Games for his team, he will automatically be given a Heavyweight Title match against Taz to MAIN EVENT Our next PPV event New Years Revolution 2003 in Chicago!
::Nigel is shocked at this news::
Nigel wants to know why teaming with New Europe means to much to the USWA, so much to Doug Williams and everyone else in this company? Nigel says that a few months ago he was getting heat because he wouldn't defend the titles with Guerrero, now they are on a roll and everyone wants him to go back to singles competition. Nigel says he doesn't owe anyone an explination....
::Nigel walks out of the ring without agreeing to the deal::
Sean Waltman pinned Steve Madison with his special move in 0:11:34. Rating: *** 3/4
Waltman gains a victory in X-Division action over Madison. Waltman is looking to get a singles match on the Chaos card against some of the big names in the USWA X-Division, a victory tonight gives him the momentum he needs.
New Europe discuss a plan B for War Games
Doug Williams gets the troops together and Alex Shelley asks what they will do if Nigel refuses to be apart of War Games. Doug says that he knows a certain individual that would love to get a chance at an opportunity to lead New Europe into this battle. Either way New Europe is going into War Games as a strong team.
Jerry Lawler pinned Reggie B. Fine with the Piledriver in 0:11:46. Rating: ** 1/2
Lawler starting his career at the bottom of card gets a victory over former USWA legend Reggie B. Fine. Reggie pulled out all his old classic maneuvers trying to complain about hair pulling and pulling the tights to the ref, but it wasn't good enough as Jerry Lawler gets the victory over Reggie.
Low-Ki made Chad Collyer submit to a Fujiwara armbar in 0:15:25. Rating: **** 1/4
Low-Ki with Trinity at his side gets a victory over Chad Collyer. Low Ki is riding a huge wave of momentum into the Chaos card where he will compete against Christopher Daniels for the Global Title.
Ahmed Johnson pinned Brickhouse Brown with the Pearl River Plunge in 0:06:42. Rating: * 1/4
In a battle of the powerhouses Ahmed Johnson gets the victory over Brickhouse Brown. Brickhouse is another one of the Memphis Legends that have made their way back to the USWA, but the hot streak of Ahmed Johnson continues.
Jerry Lynn challenges Scorpio to a Final Battle
::Jerry Lynn makes his way to the ring::
Jerry Lynn says that this year has been a real wake up call for him. He's been at war with Too Cold Scorpio for most of the year, he's had to compete against his bitter rival Sean Waltman, and he's seen the return of his tag team parter Steve Corino, but in the end he doesn't have the USWA X-Title on his waist, and it still gets to him, so he is out here tonight, to put an end to the feud with Too Cold Scorpio. Lynn has asked Too Cold Scorpio to face him in a FINAL BATTLE. X-Title on the line, NOBODY at ringside, 30 minute time limit match to a positive finish at Christmas Chaos. No matter the outcome, the loser of the match will not be able to get another X-Division title shot until after the winner of the matches title reign is complete.
The Sandman pinned Chris Harris with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:10:59. Rating: *** 1/2
The Sandman, not only did he beat Bobby Duncum to end his winning streak last week, but tonight he defeated Chris Harris one on one, getting another form of revenge for Trevor Murdoch and James Storm.
Jun Akiyama pinned Vampiro after a German suplex in 0:09:57. Rating: ***
In our main event we we got a peak at Jun Akiyama returning to action and getting a major victory over Vampiro in singles competition. After the match Samoa Joe came into the ring to show appreciation to Akiyama for his first victory back with the company.
Backstage Notes:
We are pleased to announce that Vampiro and Konnan have resigned long term contracts with the USWA and will continue a healthy relationship with our Mexican wrestlers.
Chris Harris and Super Crazy have given notice to the company and will not be renewing their contracts.
This kicks off a season of contract negotiations where Raven has about a month left on his before he must go into meetings to discuss his departure, or an extension.
The War Games match is heating up already. Taz and Sean Morley will be representing one team, while Williams, Smith, Shelley, Hermann, and MAYBE Nigel will complete Team New Europe.
With the resigning of Vampiro it is safe to announce that a tag match between Vampiro and Raven vs Akiyama and Samoa Joe WILL take place at Chaos.
More matches will be announced in the coming weeks.

I feel for ya on the negotiations front. Good luck with that. Always a pain when people are involved in angles and contracts run out. Of course, that can always be "fixed".

Yea, I was kind of bummed about James Storm and Harris both eventually leaving. I thought a Storm/Harris feud would of been good, then Harris teamed with BDJ I was willing to eventually give them the tag titles, but in the end the entire James Storm, Sandman, Murdoch vs BDJ and Harris turned into a loser leaves town fest. I think I could of gotten Harris into some singles title pictures in 2003, but never the less he is going to be out of here and I need to go in a different direction with Bobby D.
As far as Super Crazy, him and Universo 2000 were going to be a nice mid card tag team, and I JUST Brought in Mexicos Most Wanted to feud with them in the middle of the card as I give Lover and Psicosis/ PG-13 room to go for the tag titles. My next show will be a quick blowoff what could of been a nice feud, then I'm going to have to think of something for Universo 2000. I have a soft spot for Universo 2000 he has been a Global Champion, he was in Vampiros "MexiCANS" group, and always puts on good matches.
As far as Konnan is concerned I've had him taking time off but he will be back in the main event scene sooner than you think, and Vampiro and Raven vs Akiyama Samoa Joe I've been building for awhile. Vamp has no reason to ever leave, he has been a main guy for almost 2 years, he has held titles, and he is all over the place!
*****SPOILER ALERT*********
With Universo 2000, I might just have him turn on Crazy and join MMW as a mid card trio's team, but then that would be the 2nd time I've had to turn a partner and have no feud to pay it off with because they were leaving the company. (James Storm/Chris Harris)

USWA Velocity TV December 7th, 2002 Pittsburgh, PA
Christopher Daniels pinned Bobby Fish with the Spicy Drop in 0:10:04. Rating: **** 1/4
Christopher Daniels gets a big win over Bobby Fish to open Velocity. Fish really took it to Daniels in this non title match, but Daniels was able to get the upper hand and the victory. Low-Ki and Trinity joined Dave Brown and Lance Russell at the announcers table for the match up.
Backstage Raven discusses the return of Jun Akiyama.
::Raven is sitting on the floor in the locker room::
Raven says it's been 5 long months since the savior of the USWA has been seen in the company. Lots of things have changed around here since July, but one thing is still the same, Vampiro and Raven are calling the shots around here. Raven says it's probably a good thing that Joe and Akiyama are getting a chance to compete on Velocity, because at Christmas Chaos its going to be another tag team war, but The Dead pool will finally get the victory over Akiyama and Joe they've been waiting for all year.
PG-13 ask Taz to be on his team
::Backstage Wolfie D and J.C. Ice head into Taz locker room::
Wolfie says he knows that they have a rocky relationship, but they are not fans of New Europe, and they would love the chance to join Taz and Morley on his team at War Games.
::Taz looks reluctant to agree::
J.C. Ice says he knows that PG-13 and Taz haven't always scene eye to eye in the past, but they are just as interested in getting rid of New Europe as anyone in the USWA.
Taz tells PG-13 that he appreciates the offer for War Games, and he appreciates the help from Halloween Havoc, but this match is a little out of their league, and if he needs a team they need to be some crazy tough sons of bitches, not 150 pound skinny punks.
::Taz walks off and PG-13 are in disbelief::
Chad Collyer defeated Steve Bradley by disqualification in 0:14:23. Rating: *** 1/2
Chad Collyer was moments away from getting a clean pin on Steve Bradley, until Bradley decked our head ref Downtown Bruno and tossed him out of the ring, getting disqualified! Some in the company are saying it was a cheap move by Bradley which ended with Chad Collyer getting the victory, and a lot of respect in the locker room.
[Loser Leaves Town Dream Partner Tag Match] The Sandman and Mike Awesome defeated Chris Harris and Bobby Duncum Jr. when Awesome pinned C. Harris after a legdrop in 0:10:17. Rating: ***
Chris Harris came out and told Sandman that he wanted to end his USWA career the same way he did with James Storm and Trevor Murdoch, TONIGHT Harris wanted a loser leaves town dream partner match. Sandman came out and agreed to it. Bobby Duncum came out as Harris partner, and as a shocker to everyone MIKE AWESOME came out at Sandman's side! Mike Awesome took it to both men and in the end Harris took a nasty legdrop from Awesome, and Harris is now OUT of the USWA! The Sandman and his USWA legacy lives on.
Nigel mulls his decision to compete in War Games
::Backstage::
Nigel says that he has often thought about the direction of New Europe if he ever lost those tag titles with Ultimo Guerrero, but as of now he is apart of the hottest tag team to step foot into the USWA. Nigel says that losing to Christopher Daniels in his native country was a real wake up call, that maybe just maybe he wasn't ready to lead a stable to championships and big money matches, but he has found success in tag team competition. Doug Williams seems to be getting really sick of the way Nigel's career is going and Nigel said he thinks everyday that maybe he should blow up the group that he assembled, or maybe he should rejoin his men and complete the task he set out to accomplish earlier this year. Nigel says he still has a lot of thinking to do.
Mexico's Most Wanted (Damien 666 and Halloween) defeated South of the Border (Universo 2000 and Super Crazy) when Halloween made Universo 2000 submit to the La Calabaza in 0:13:10. Rating: ***
Mexicos Most Wanted took on South of the Border and showed they are back in the USWA and they mean business. Not only did they make Universo tap to the La Calabaza, but after the match they took a beating on Super Crazy and broke his ARM right in the middle of the ring! Paramedics had to make their way to the ring and Super Crazy was taken to the hospital. I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing Crazy in the USWA anytime soon.
Doug Williams announces he's going to plan B!
::Doug Williams is sitting around with New Europe Members::
Doug says he is sick of listening to Nigel go back and forth. Doug says we are three weeks away from Chaos in the biggest war games match in the history of the promotion and Nigel can't make up his mind? Jerry Lawler pinned Brickhouse Brown with the Piledriver in 0:16:02. Rating: *** 1/4
Lawler continues his mini winning streak with a victory over Brickhouse Brown. Ever since Jarrett told Lawler he had to start over from the bottom of the roster, Lawler has had some convincing victories over some of the new talent in the USWA.
Samoa Joe and Jun Akiyama defeated AJ Styles and CM Punk when J. Akiyama pinned Punk with the Exploder in 0:15:30. Rating: *** 1/4
Bill Dundee scheduled a fantastic main event with Samoa Joe and Akiyama facing an odd pairing of Punk and AJ Styles. Akiyamas exploder pinned CM Punk and after the match AJ and Punk got into a little shoving contest. Apparently these two were not on the same page during the main event match.
Backstage Notes:
Big news coming out of the Velocity show this week is that Doug Williams says he will have David Taylor back here next week and offer him Nigels spot on the New Europe roster. Taylor and Johnny Smith were former New Europe members and Tag Team Champions here in the USWA, we might be in for an explosive confrontation next week in Columbus!
Dream Partner tag match The Sandman has ended the career of Chris Harris as he pulls out Mike Awesome as his tag partner to beat Harris and Bobby Duncum.
Super Crazy is out of the USWA, MMW broke the arm of Crazy and has put him on the shelf in story lines. Crazy leaves the USWA on good terms and a door is always open for his return to the company.
CM Punk and AJ Styles look to be having some problems after a dispute in tonights Main Event. They will face each other in the main event of next weeks Velocity show.
Next weeks Velocity TV will be a huge taping as we will also tape an episode of USWA Challenge. The Main Event for Challenge has been announced as Universo 2000 will take on Damian 666 to try to avenge the beating Mexicos Most Wanted gave to Super Crazy.

USWA Challenge taped December 14th, 2002 Columbus, Ohio
AJ Styles and CM Punk argue backstage
Backstage: CM Punk tells AJ that the loss last week on Velocity to Samoa Joe and Akiyama was his fault because he didn't take the match seriously. Punk goes on to say that every match is important to him so he can get back on track here in the USWA.
AJ Styles told Punk the only reason they lost that match is because he was forced to tag with a loser like Punk, and if he has a problem with it maybe they should settle it in the ring!
Brickhouse Brown defeated Steve Madison by disqualification in 0:15:45. Rating: **
Brickhouse Brown gets his first victory in the USWA by DQ when Madison accidentally hit the ref! Brickhouse looked like the powerhouse that most people think he will bring to the promotion.
Sean Waltman calls out Steve Bradley.
Ringside:
Sean Waltman heads to the interview area where he goes on to call out Steve Bradley. Waltman said that his loss to Chad Collyer last week was a disgrace. Waltman continues to run down his former friend and asking to check the record books to make sure Bradley really was the X-Division champ at some point.
Bradley tells Waltman that he hasn't exactly done anything but to lose to Jerry Lynn since his debut in the USWA. If he wants to make a splash in this company he needs to get victories over some of the best talent that is here today, and maybe if he would get off Bradleys back and hit the gym he'd have something to complain about.
Waltman is kind of shocked that Bradley turned this argument around on him, and Waltman says that he wouldn't have a problem kicking Chad Collyers ass! Then Bradley tells him to shut his mouth and prove it as Bradley leaves the ringside area.
Doug Williams pinned Steve Corino with the Northern Lights Suplex in 0:14:37. Rating: **** 1/4

PG-13 use the hubcap to get the victory over Delirious and Cabana. A nice tag match that gives PG-13 the victory. Delirious tried to explain to the ref after the match that PG-13 used the hubcap to get the victory, but the ref wouldn't listen to the complaint.
Universo 2000 pinned Damien 666 after a spinebuster slam in 0:06:08. Rating: *** 1/4
In our Main Event Universo 2000 gets the victory over Mexicos Most Wanted member Damien 666. After the match Halloween, Damiens tag partner came to the ring and tried to convince Universo 2000 to join their group. Universo 2000 pushed Halloween out of the way and left the ring.

Taz grabs the mic and says that their are not a lot of people he gives a rats ass about here in the USWA, and as long as he's got the belt thats all that matters to him, but one man here in the USWA called him over the weekend and begged to be on his team, not because he wants to be friends, not because he wants the belt, he just wants to kick the living crap out of New Europe in the cage. I knew right away thats who I wanted as my partner. Welcome the third member of Team Taz, KONNAN! ::Out comes Konnan to a huge reaction:: Konnan says that he has had some wars with Doug Williams, and to get a chance to jump in the cage and end New Europe once and for all is something he can't sit on the sidelines for. Lawler asks if he is at least going to tell him who it is? Dundee says that would ruin all the fun! and tells Jerry to leave because he has other business to attend to. Low-Ki pinned Steve Corino with the Ki Crusher in 0:10:17. Rating: ****Low-Ki with Trinity at ringside continues to look strong with a victory over Steve Corino. Low-Ki says he will have a few words for Christopher Daniels before Chaos. Raven and Vampiro will soon face off against Akiyama and Samoa Joe for the first time, and nobody really knows what to expect out of these two teams. Bill Dundee announces Akiyama and Joe to receive tag title shotRingside: Dundee joined Dave Brown ringside announcing that he has made a decision on who will receive that tag team title shot next week in Nashville. As you know Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel must defend the titles this month and they have specifically been left off defending those belts at Chaos. Styles gets the victory but after the match Punk continued to get in the face of AJ Styles. [Dark Match Main Event] Too Cold Scorpio, Steve Bradley, Nigel McGuinness and Ultimo Guerrero defeated Samoa Joe, Jun Akiyama, Jerry Lynn and Christopher Daniels when U. Guerrero pinned Daniels after a flying bodypress in 0:05:49. Rating: *** 1/2In what we can expect to continue, Bill Dundee gave the audience a nice 4 man tag dark match main event. He pitted Scorpio, Bradley and tag team champs Nigel McGuinness and Ultimo Guerrero against Joe and Akiyama, Jerry Lynn, and Chris Daniels. The tag champs and the tag team challengers really went at it and it looks like we should be in for a great match next week. Guerrero gets the pin on our Global Champion and the victory for his team. David Tayor and Johnny Smith will NOT be coming back to the USWA, and breaking David Taylors leg last week was a way to guarantee that.
Nigel says his tag team partner Ultimo Guerrero has been first class in all of this, and now he has made a decision for tomorrows shows.

::Raven and Vampiro hit the ring entrance::
Raven tells Joe that he sure is talking a big game for a man who's never done a god damn thing here in the USWA. Raven says he is sick of Samoa Joe, and the worst thing he ever did was lure Jun Akiyama back to the USWA, because Chaos will be the beginning of the end of his career. Vampiro tells Jun Akiyama he has his sites set on him and that at Chaos he shouldn't expect a wrestling match because this tag match is going to be an all our brawl, survival of the fittest.
Akiyama tells Vampiro that he has traveled back to the USWA in order to end the war Raven has started with him and Joe. Akiyama says he hasn't traveled all this way to lose in their first match. After the match when Mikey came to, he did a dive onto fish from the outside and attacked him.
Bill Dundee makes an announcement about the Tag Titles.
::Bill Dundee makes his way to the announcers table::
Dundee comes out to the ring and tells Dave Brown that last weeks tag match was a thing of beauty with Akiyama and Joe making a name for themselves among the tag teams here in the company. Dundee says that with Raven and Vampiro interfering in the match they kind of got a raw deal, but we have plenty of teams here in the USWA that are lining up and making a name for themselves when it comes to getting a tag team title shot.
Two of those teams are Psicosis and Latin Lover who have taken the tag champs to the limits on several occasions, and PG-13 who have been racking up victories on Velocity for two months now. Dundee says those two teams will go at it one on one at Chaos, with the winner being named the contenders to the tag titles at NEW YEARS REVOLUTION on PPV in January!

USWA Christmas Chaos 2002
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules AJ Styles, The Sandman and Ultimo Guerrero beat CM Punk, Colt Cabana and Bobby Fish 2 falls to 0: x Sandman beat Cabana via disqualification in 0:05:28 x Styles beat Fish via disqualification in 0:10:59 Rating: ***
Our six man tag opener was a hot one to start off one of the most anticipated shows in the USWA. Team Styles got the victory with two decisions when the ref DQed both Bobby Fish and Cabana for illegal tactics. CM Punk wasn't happy with the loss and gave Styles a stare down as AJ was walking back up the ramp.
Jerry Lawler pinned Tommy Rich with the Piledriver in 0:14:02. Rating: ** 1/4
Tommy Rich was the surprise opponent for Jerry Lawler and it was a bitter brawl between two legends from the mid south. Lawler earned the victory with his piledriver finish and continues a winning streak.
Chad Collyer defeated Sean Waltman when Sean Waltman passed out in the Chaddo Clutch in 0:12:08. Rating: **** 1/4
A great X-division matchup with Chad Collyer getting the victory over Waltman. Steve Bradley came down and ridiculed Waltman after the match. Chad Collyer is in line for an X-Division title shot with this win.
PG-13 (J.C. Ice and Wolfie D) defeated Latin Lover and Psicosis when Wolfie D pinned L. Lover after the Hubcap in 0:17:41. Rating: **** 1/2
In our #1 contenders match for the tag titles PG-13 got the victory over Lover and Psicosis and will go on to face the tag champs at our next PPV New Years Revolution. Wolfie and J.C. have been traveling down a long road on their way to a championship match. Tonight they have secured the match.
Jerry Lynn pinned Too Cold Scorpio with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:22:35. Rating: ***** (Jerry Lynn won the X Division Title.)
The X-Division title was on the line tonight in the "Final Battle" between Lynn and Scorpio. 1 on 1 to a positive finish, no interference. With everyone glued to the match Jerry Lynn defeated Scorpio and became a four time X-Division champion. After the match both men received a standing ovation and Too Cold Scorpio took the mic.
Too Cold and Jerry Lynn post match interview
::The crowd is giving both men a standing ovation, Scorpio takes the mic::
Scorpio tells Lynn that he is by far one of the best wrestlers he has ever faced in his entire career. Scorpio says that not only have they elevated that title to a new level, but they have elevated their careers to a new level.
Jerry tells Scorpio that he is one of the best x-division champions in the history of this promotion and nobody will ever be able to take that away from him.
Jerry says that he has always felt that the battle with Scorpio was more about the competition than the actual belt, and that with the second anniversary of the X-division coming up, it's time to let a new class of talent get a shot at the gold. Lynn says that he is vacating the title tonight and the winner of the second anniversary X-Division tournament on January 17th will be crowned the NEW champion!
Mexico's Most Wanted (Damien 666 and Halloween) defeated Universo 2000 and Delirious when Halloween defeated Universo 2000 when Universo 2000 passed out in the La Calabaza in 0:07:23. Rating: *** 1/2
Universo 2000 got help from Delirious tonight to tag with him against Mexicos Most Wanted. It didn't get the job done as Halloween put Universo in the La Calabaza and attempted to seriously injure him, putting him on the shelf with his tag partner Super Crazy. Halloween and Damien 666 are a very brutal team here in the USWA.
Jun Akiyama and Samoa Joe defeated Raven and Vampiro when J. Akiyama pinned Vampiro with the Exploder in 0:13:53. Rating: *** 1/4Jun Akiyama and Samoa Joe defeated Raven and Vampiro when J. Akiyama pinned Vampiro with the Exploder in 0:13:53. Rating: *** 1/4
Akiyama and Joe came out to brawl and thats exactly what this match was. A brawl between four men that just don't like each other. Akiyama continues to rack up victories since he returned last month, Vampiro and Raven were left laying in the ring after Akiyama hit Vampiro with the exploder.
Low-Ki pinned Christopher Daniels with the Ki Crusher in 0:09:06. Rating: *** 3/4 (Low-Ki won the Global Title.)
Christopher Daniels title run is over, and we will head into 2003 with a NEW Global champion in Low-Ki. The best of 7 feud paid off as Ki finally captures the belt he's been waiting for his entire career. Daniels held the Global title longer than anyone in the company, but Ki gets the victory. Low-Ki now has his girl and the gold on his side and looks to be a big player going into 2003.
War Games No-Countout-No-DQ-Match Taz, Konnan, New Jack, Ahmed Johnson and Sean Morley defeated New Europe (Alex S helley, Doug Williams, Harry Smith and Nigel McGuinness) and Ulf Hermann when Konnan made A. Shelley submit to the Tequila Sunrise in 0:39:39. Rating: ****
It's official, New Europe is no more. After Team Taz got the victory, Doug Williams flipped out. Williams and Smith attacked Nigel in the middle of the ring, they then continued a beating on an injured Ulf Hermann and choked out Alex Shelley. Doug took the mic saying that he is sick of being a part of a group of men who can't win and his New Years Resolution is to climb the ladder of sucess in 2003, and it won't be happening with Nigel, Ulf, or Alex Shelley!
Backstage Notes
Two new champs tonight in Jerry Lynn and Low-Ki. We know now that the X-title will not be defended by Lynn and it will be put into an 8 man tournament on the X-Division anniversary show January 17th. We should know the brackets for that tournament soon.
Tommy Rich has signed on with the USWA and will mostly be used on our upcoming monthly Mid South Coliseum shows.
Universo 2000 has 1 show left on contract, along with the Sandman. The company would like to keep both, but neither will be used in story lines until we hear from them on their future.
With Team Taz getting the victory in WAR GAMES, Nigel will NOT get the title shot at New Years Revolution. So the question is, who will be the number one contender for the title at the PPV?
Chad Collyer gets a big X-Division win tonight and the office has decided he is going to have a bigger roll in the X-Division going into the new year.
The Jerry Lynn/Too Cold "Final Battle" might have just beat out the 3 way match for the heavyweight title that Val Venis, Taz, and Ulf Hermann had on A Night to Remember. Amazing match that ended a very long feud between two of the bigger names in the company, and a title change!
The next USWA show will take place on the 4th and will be a huge TV taping. We will be taping two weeks worth of Velocity TV, and USWA Challenge. This opens up an extra night for the January 17th X-Division tournament.

2002 Year End Awards It has been a wild year in the USWA circa 2002. We have had the X-Division title change hands more than anytime in it's recent past. We had two Heavyweight Champions crowned this year, and a few long title reigns to go with those belts. We ran a tour of Japan in early February, along with our debut in England in September. Champions have returned to the company, long time names have left the USWA for greener pastures, but one thing is for certain in 2002, the USWA has expanded past the small Memphis based promotion and is on it's way to a new level of success. With 2002 behind us we wanted to take a moment to look at the past year and focus on some awards. We have eight categories and have determined the winners. 1. Best Angle in 2002Winner: Nigel McGuinness abandons New Europe to defend the tag team titles with Ultimo Guerrero. It was the talk of the company back in May when we were in Fairfield, CT for a Velocity TV taping; The MexiCANS stable was a mess. Vampiro walked out on Victor Quinnonez, who at the time had a contract with Ultimo Guerrero to be his manager. Later in the year Vic would be banned from the USWA, but on that night when Guerrero needed a tag partner to defend the titles he won with Vampiro, it was Nigel who took the spot and defeated his own stable mates Johnny Smith and David Taylor. This would eventually lead to both Taylor and Smith leaving the company and being replaced with the current New Europe stable. Nigel and Guerrero went on to defend the titles against Americas Most Wanted through the summer, but took a hiatus in the Fall when it was announced that Nigel would attempt to become the Global champion as New Europe went into the September England tour with that title match waiting for them. As we all know now Nigel was unsuccessful in winning the global title, the same way he was unsuccessful in winning the Heavyweight title, and he was eventually unsuccessful at WAR GAMES against Team Taz. The only victory he was able to get this year was the huge win at Lord of the Ring, and again when he filled in for Vampiro and won the tag titles. After the loss to Daniel's, Ultimo Guerrero had a talk with Nigel and told him they needed to focus on defending those tag titles. Nigel woke up and listened to his partner. Nigel left the dealings of New Europe, who went on to cause problems with Taz, and he joined Guerrero in defending those titles in the fall. The tag champs took victories over South of the Border, and had some amazing matches with Psicosis and Latin Lover, until December when Doug Williams and Harry Smith and the rest of New Europe pleaded for Nigel to return to the group and help them beat Taz. Nigel did agree, but in the end they were unable to defeat Team Taz at Christmas Chaos, and all hell broke loose as New Europe is completely disbanded. Nigel continues to defend the tag team gold with Ultimo Guerrero. 2.Rookie of the YearWinner: Chad CollyerAlthough this is not just an award for those that have had their first year in the business, it is an award that goes out to someone who has never competed in the USWA, but has made an impact in their first year. Chad Collyer made his USWA debut back in October, but has since risen to number one contender to the X-Division title. His most impressive win was the victory at Chaos over Sean Waltman. Chad didn't get the easiest introduction to the USWA either. He had some brutal matches against Low-Ki, and him and Bobby Fish went at it a few times as we started the year. Chad is going to eventually get that X-title shot, but a lot of people in the USWA are excited to bring him into the "Regional" shows that will be taking place at the Mid South Coliseum to open up 2003. Chad has the fans behind him and I think big plans are in his future. 3. Best Surprise of 2002 Winner: Jun Akiyama makes his return to the USWA at our first PPV.This is more of an insiders view of things, but Jun Akiyama is by far the best story the USWA has. He was a foreigner that came to the company, had a huge impact when he won the title from AJ Styles in June of 2001, and went on to defend the title thirteen times! Still a company record. He was the most over guy on the roster, and opened the door to our fans accepting new talent from all around the globe. He is a guy that the company values on the roster and when he left the company in July and never had a chance to come back and run his angle with Samoa Joe a lot of us were shocked. Negotiations opened up again in the fall and Jun agreed to return. Jun is finishing up an angle with Joe and Raven now, but we know that 2003 will see Akiyama back in the big picture and with Taz as the hottest champion this company has had in awhile, to beat Akiyamas title defense record, we know that TAZ will have to go through Akiyama to do it! 4. Best major show of 2002Winner: A Night to Remember 2002Always a hard category to pick a clear winner, but A Night to Remember 2002 gets the nod as the best show of the year. It was a show where all the feuds came together, along with it being the first ever Live Pay Per View event we had a five star match for the heavyweight title in the main event. That was also followed up nicely by Raven and Samoa Joe's cage match that was raved about. The big surprise on the show again, Jun Akiyama returns in the cage match to continue to cause problems for Raven. 5. Best feud of the year Winner: CM Punk vs Low-KiMany people think that the best of 7 series is what this feud was all about, but if you go back far enough that was the culmination of what was a feud that lasted for six months! Unheard of in these fast moving times in pro wrestling. If you go back to the Lord of the Ring show in May, Low-Ki and Punk were brought together as a team. Things didn't go well and they didn't make it out of the first round of the competition. Both blamed each other for losing a chance at the title, but it didn't end there. In Massachusetts in early June, CM Punk no showed a singles match with Ki which led to him having to face Taz. In revenge the next week Low-Ki cost CM Punk his match for the #1 contender to the x-division title, which continued the hard feelings. (side note: This also began the Too Cold/Lynn feud.) At the King of the Death Match, Low-Ki defeated Punk ruining his run at another finals appearance in the annual tournament. Apparently that wasn't enough for these two, as Low-Ki came out and stalked CM Punks match at Heatwave against Shocker. August 17th in Memphis, TN is when we found out about the idea of this best of 7 series. It would go the distance. These two met in texas death matches, cage matches, ladder matches, ultimate x matches. It ended with Low-Ki stealing the win again when his former valet/girlfriend Trinity came back and cost CM Punk the match. Low-Ki went on to defeat Christopher Daniel's for the Global title and had a very strong 2002. Some are saying he could be "the one" that will unify the Global and Heavyweight titles giving this company it's first ever world heavyweight champion. That is yet to be determined, but we do know that Low-Ki's feud with Punk has made him a stronger man than he was before. 6. Match of the Year:Winner: Jerry Lynn vs Too Cold Scorpio (Christmas Chaos 2002 *****)Another feud that was up for Feud of the year, but in the end these two put on a clinic in December that opened the eyes of the young X-Division competitors like Chad Collyer, Bobby Fish and the others that will be leading the way in X-Division matches in 2003. These guys went at it in X-Division competition in a summer series, but it lasted well into the fall, and finally ended in December when Jerry Lynn became the 4 time USWA X-Division champion. A new record for anyone to hold any belt that many times. After the match the two shook hands and have vacated the title, leading to the winner of the second anniversary ultimate X tournament becoming the new X-Division champion. 7. Tag Team of the Year:Winners: Ultimo Guerrero and Nigel McGuinnessWe had four different people hold the tag titles this year, but nobody held it for a long period of time. Some might say that Nigels commitment to the tag titles in early fall makes them not worthy champions, but by the end of the fall and into the winter these guys defended against anyone that Bill Dundee put in front of them. Guerrero and Nigel have held the belts longer than any other team in the history of the company. They have gone to time limit draws with teams on several occasions and continue to give them rematches instead of dodging the competition. I wouldn't be surprised if these two hold the titles all year in 2003 and repeat as team of the year in 2003. 8. Wrestler of the Year:Winner: TazIts been asked in many promos throughout the year, it has been made fun of by some; it's safe to say that everyone is asking the same question as we head into January of 2003. Who can stop the path of rage? It's the same Taz we knew from his ECW days, just a little bit more miserable. Dating back to cards that are not even posted in the revival of the USWA, Taz has been a man that was always known as the guy who couldn't win the "big one" That big one came for him in 2002 at Locked Up when he went on to defeat New Jack and become the USWA Heavyweight champion. 4 title defenses and 122 days and counting as champion. That puts Taz in second place overall as the longest champion in the history of the company. Four title defenses ties him with Shane Douglas, Raven and New Jack and one more defense will tie him with AJ Styles. 6 title defenses and we all start the countdown to see if he can beat Jun Akiyama's streak of 13. 13 title defenses to the USWA is the Home Run record to baseball. It's the most coveted record in the company, and it's the be all end all elite champion, and it just so happens to be Taz lucky number. Can he make it to 13 in 2003? It hasn't been brought up in storylines yet, but everyone in the locker room knows that if Taz can continue his path of rage in 2003, Jun Akiyama will be waiting for him. 9 defenses could put a huge match on the card in late 2003 (A Night to Remember 2003 maybe?) or Akiyama might want to squash this streak before it ever gets to that level. Never the less in 2002 Taz was the guy to beat and still is as we head into a new year in the USWA!

The Lynn thing kind of didn't go as planned. I wanted 2 cold to retain and he was going to go after a bigger title, but yes the basic idea is that I want to put younger guys in the X-division and 2 Cold is going to contend for the heavyweight title, Lynn will also go for the Global title or Heavyweight. These guys are both signed "long term" so it should be fun to see what they do in 2003.

Mikey Whipwreck made Super Calo submit to the Texas Cloverleaf in 0:08:06. Rating: **
Mikey gets a victory in singles action over Super Calo. Calo was here in the USWA during it's 1997 debut, but this is his first return since the 2000 revival. Some think his longtime friend Lizmark Jr. might be on future bookings, but Mikey looked good and gets the win tonight which qualified him for a spot in the X-Division anniversary tournament.
Ulf Hermann, Bobby Duncum Jr. and Mike Awesome defeated Memphis Legends (Brickhouse Brown and Reggie B. Fine) and Colt Cabana when Awesome pinned Reggie B. Fine after a torture rack into a DDT in 0:09:10. Rating: *** 1/2
New Europe is officially dead, and it looks like Ulf Hermann has become friends with two of the biggest men in the USWA. Mike Awesome and Bobby Duncum Jr teamed up with Ulf to take on The Memphis Legends and Colt Cabana. Awesome hit an AMAZING Torture rack DDT on Reggie to get a dominant victory in six man tag competition.
Tommy Rich pinned Mike Sharpe with the Piledriver in 0:10:09. Rating: DUD
Our main event wasn't anything to write home about, but Tommy Rich gets a victory over Mike Sharpe. Tommy Rich is going to be challenging Lawler in a REMATCH from his Christmas Chaos appearance on our first Mid South Coliseum show on January 20th. That show will be an exclusive show to the USWA website!
