USWA Challenge Dallas, Texas Taped 2.25.03/Aired 3.8.03 Hosts Dave Brown and Scott Hudson The Memphis Legends (Brickhouse Brown and Reggie B. Fine) and Tommy Rich defeated The Texas Hangmen (Killer and Psycho) and Kevin Northcutt when Rich pinned K. Northcutt with the Piledriver in 0:08:24. Tommy Rich injured his right knee. He will be out for approximately 3 cards. Rating: * 1/4Tommy Rich joined The Memphis Legends in six man action today on Challenge. Rich hit his piledriver finisher to get the victory for his team and joined Scott Hudson after the match. Tommy Rich and Memphis Legends post match interview[Scott Hudson tells Rich that was an impressive win in the ring!] Tommy Rich told Hudson that him and the Memphis Legends go way back, and that what they did in that ring is something they've been doing around the country for years, and thats beating people up! Reggie B. Fine says that him and Brickhouse Brown's loss to the Island Boys last week on Velocity was a fluke, but tonight with Tommy Rich in their corner, they were re-focused and are ready to take on any competition that the USWA wants to put in their way! Brickhouse Brown says that he is the only Powerhouse that the USWA has on the roster. Not Mike Awesome, not Bobby Duncum Jr, and not Ahmed Johnson! Brickhouse says that today Ahmed Johnson might be in the main event, but if he wants to prove that he's the powerhouse of the USWA he needs to step into the ring with him! Psicosis pinned Cyclope with the Flying Legdrop in 0:11:21. Rating: ** 3/4X-Division action sees Psicosis get the victory today on challenge. Psicosis told the ringside camera that he will never forgive Latin Lover for turning his back in their team and he's waiting for the opportunity to step into the ring with him! Mikey Whipwreck pinned Alex Shelley after a top-rope Frankensteiner in 0:09:04. Rating: ** 1/2Another big X-Division match up with Mikey Whipwreck defeating Alex Shelley. Mikey has been making his way up the ladder in the division and will soon be mentioned in the same sentence as the champion Bobby Fish! The Spanish Announce Team (Joel Maximo and Jose Maximo) defeated The Southern Posse (Rick Thames and Sonny Trout) when Joel Maximo pinned Sonny Trout with the Maximo Explosion in 0:04:05. Rating: -1/2*The returning S.A.T.'s get a victory tonight over The Southern Posse. We haven't seen Jose and Joel in quite sometime, but with the competition in the tag team division constantly changing, these two superstars feel they might be able to make a run at the tag team titles. A victory today on Challenge is the first step in that process. Bill Dundee addresses X-Division Title situation.[Scott Hudson brings out President Bill Dundee and talks about the X-Division] Bill Dundee says that the X-Division is heating up as Bobby Fish wins his first USWA title in the company. We got some big names that have moved to the division in AJ Styles and CM Punk as of late, and of course former champion Steve Bradley is looking for a rematch. On top of that Mikey Whipwreck has made a name for himself in the standings in the last few weeks, so it's been complicated to get everything straight! Hudson says that he was told that Steve Corino set up a meeting with Dundee last week to put together a contract for Bobby Fishes first title defense. Dundee said that it was a three hour meeting, and in the end we came to a conclusion which I would like to announce today on Challenge. Dundee says he had to give up a little to get a little, but he felt that CM Punk was a stronger contender to the title than AJ Styles at this present time. Corino would not take that as an acceptable answer, but in the end we determined that NEXT WEEK's main event here on Challenge will pit Steve Bradley taking on CM Punk #1 contender label is on the line, now by removing AJ Styles from the match, we had to give up a little and that includes Steve Corino will be the special guest referee. [The crowd boos the decision and Bradley comes out from the back] Bradley confronts Bill Dundee and asks him how in the hell he came to that decision? Dundee tries to defend himself by saying that it was either that or Punk vs AJ Styles and Bradley wouldn't even have an opportunity at his rematch. Bradley says that he is being disrespected because he was the first ever champion, and deserves an automatic rematch, not the opportunity to get a rematch! Dundee told Bradley that the deal is already done, and he better get ready for next week! [Commercial] Vladimir Kozlov pinned Colt Cabana with the Russian Rack in 0:06:11. Rating: *** 1/2 (Mike Awesome no-showed.)After the news that Mike Awesome was going to take on Colt Cabana this week, we got word that Mike Awesome was not in the building, so while Cabana felt that a competitor from the X-Division would be in his best interest, Bill Dundee scheduled him to face Vladimir Kozlov of The New Bolsheviks. The powerful Kozlov was too much for Cabana and after the match he claimed he was the strongest man in the USWA! This caught the attention of Brickhouse Brown who earlier in the program claimed he was the biggest and the baddest that the USWA has to offer! Vampiro interview about tonight's Main Event[Dave Brown introduces Vampiro and asks him about tonight's match] Dave tells Vampiro that tonight he has a big task in front of him, but on the other hand Ahmed has some real competition in the ring tonight against Vampiro! Vampiro says that Ahmed Johnson has been playing politics behind closed doors in an effort to get a title shot, but what he doesn't realize is that he hasn't put in the time, and he hasn't faced the best of the best in the USWA. Tonight when he suffers his first loss in singles competition, he will come back down to earth and realize that his place in this company will always be mid card status. Nigel McGuinness pinned Julio Sanchez with the Guvnor's Crumpet in 0:03:32. Rating: ***We had a chance to see Nigel in action on Velocity last week, this week on Challenge we saw him get a win over Julio Sanchez. McGuinness continues his winning ways here in 2003. SuperBrawl Control Center[Lance Wright is in the SuperBrawl control center] Lance Wright tells the fans that on Sunday March 30th in Philadelphia, PA the first ever USWA SuperBrawl will take place! It will be our first Pay Per View offering of the new year and it's expected to be a big one! We found out the Main Event for the show will pit Taz finally going one on one with his nemesis Raven. USWA Velocity Dallas, TX Taped Feb 25th, 2003 Airs March 8th, 2003 Hosts: Lance Russell and Corey Maclin
Taz and Harry Smith confrontation
[Taz is in the ring to kick off Velocity]
Everyone complained that I was never on TV, now I'm out here every week because someone in this company pisses me off. This week it so happends to be Harry F'n Smith. Harry get your ass out here!
[Out comes Harry Smith along with his tag partner Doug Williams.]
Taz tells Williams that he doesn't have a beef with him, but wanted to know from Smith what exactly the hell went wrong last week? They were headed to the ring and then he's gone, then he's knocked out and I got Scorpio to take your spot.
Smith tells Taz that someone jumped him from behind to take him out of the match, but he wanted to be in it. When he came to and officials were hovered over him, the only thought he had in his head was to get to the ring. Smith apologized for causing the DQ and costing the team the match, but he wants Taz to know he had all intentions of going out there last week and giving the Bolsheviks the beating of their lives!
[The Bolsheviks and Raven come out to join the conversation.]
Raven says that last week he got the victory over Taz, and that's just a sign of things to come. Soon enough Raven will once again be the Heavyweight Champion, but tonight, tonight Taz needs another test. Raven tells Taz that tonight he is going to take on one of the most powerful men to come to the USWA in years! Tonight Taz goes one on one with Vladimir Kozlov!
(Kozlov gets right in the face of Taz)
Raven says that Kozlov doesn't fear Taz, he isn't intimidated by Taz's smug look, and he isn't worried about the words Taz spews, because he can't understand a word you say. All Kozlov understands is pain, and injuring his opponent. Tonight Taz will feel that pain, and soon enough Williams and Smith will be next when the Bolsheviks become the USWA Tag Team Champions.
Of course, Smith you've already felt that pain, when Kozlov laid you out last week!
(Smith tries to lunge at Raven, but Taz and Williams hold him back.)
Williams tells the Bolsheviks that they need 3 wins to get a title shot, but if they can't get the three points before SuperBrawl, they will fight them in a falls count anywhere Philadelphia Street Fight at the PPV! It's not about the titles anymore, it's personal!
Raven tells Williams that the Bolsheviks will get those three points before the PPV, but for now Taz better get ready for tonight's Main Event, because when Kozlov is done with him, their won't be much left for Raven at SuperBrawl.
AJ Styles defeated Steve Bradley by countout in 0:09:23. Rating: *** 1/2
AJ Styles gets a victory over Bradley by Countout. AJ Styles was shunned of his shot at the X-title when an agreement was made for Punk and Bradley to face off next week on Challenge. During tonights match Styles threw a tired Bradley to the floor and Corino attacked Bradley on the floor leading to him being unable to answer the 10 count. AJ Styles picks up a win over Bradley, and gives Bradley less of a chance for a rematch. If Bradley doesn't get the victory over Punk next week on Challenge, he may need to start working his way back up the X-Division ladder.
Low-Ki looks for Daniels
[Backstage Low-Ki is looking for Christopher Daniels who is rumored to be in the building.]
Low-Ki flips over the catering area, and throws people out of his way as he is looking all over the arena screaming for Daniels. As he turns the corner he finds Trinity layed out in the hallway!
Ki grabs official Micky Jay and tells him to get help for her as he grabs a pipe and continues his quest to find Daniels.
Jun Akiyama and Samoa Joe backstage.
[Akiyama tries to comfort Samoa Joe who is bummed about his loss to Lynn last week on Challenge.]
Akiyama tells Joe that Jerry Lynn is one of the top contenders in the USWA and it's okay to have that loss.
Samoa Joe beins to wonder where the fire and passion is that Akiyama and Joe had before they went to Japan earlier last year.
Samoa Joe tells Akiyama that everyone in this locker room thinks he has gone soft, he isn't the Japanese assassin that he made himself out to be during his title reign, that weakness is starting to rub off on me!
Akiyama tells Joe that he still has the fire inside him and will one day win back that world title back!
Joe tells Akiyama that tonight he has a chance to prove it, because he is going to take on Jerry Lynn in the ring! It's time to show the fire, it's time to go back to being the assassins and locker room leaders that they advertised themselves to be starting tonight's!
The Bulldogs (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) defeated Delirious and Universo 2000 when Harry pinned Universo 2000 with the Stampede Powerslam in 0:08:50. Rating: ** 1/4
Before the bell the Bolsheviks again attempt an attack on Harry Smith, Doug Williams helped fight back this time, but we didn't know what the tag champs would look like in the ring. Harry Smith was able to look past the pain and hit 2000 with a devastating Stampede Powerslam to give the tag champs a victory!
Universo 2000 and Delirious regroup after the match
[Delirious is checking on Universo 2000 who's back is in pain after the match.]
Delirious tells Universo he is going to get a doctor to check on him. As Delirious leaves the locker room, The Latin Lover runs in and attacks 2000 who is in no condition to fight back.
Lover continues to rip at Universo 2000's mask and dismantle it from his face until Delirious hears the commotion and runs back in and fends off Lover.
Delirious tries to ask Lover what the hell is wrong with him, but all he gets as a response is a sadistic laugh as Lover walks down the hallway with a piece of Universo 2000's mask in his hand!
Jerry Lynn pinned Jun Akiyama with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:10:04. Rating: *** 3/4
Jerry Lynn gets the clean pinfall on Akiyama after the match. Lynn made his way to the back and Joe just shook his head in disgust with another loss from his friend Akiyama. Joe helps him to his feet as they make their way to the locker room.
Konnan calls out Latin Lover
[and angry Konnan speaks for the first time about Latin Lover]
Konnan tells Latin Lover that he is sick of sitting back watching him go on with these attacks. Konnan said that Lover cost him his chance to win the title infront of his hometown crowd. Now he seems to be attacking Universo 2000 every chance he gets for an opportunity to unmask him?
Konnan says in a matter of weeks Lover has become one of the most hated men in this company, and Konnan feels he is to blame since he got him a job here in the first place.
Konnan asks Lover to come out and face him man to man.
[Lover surprisingly makes his way to the ring.]
Lover tells Konnan that he has become a superstar with more popularity than Konnan, more popularity than Ultimo Guerrero and more popularity than Vampiro. Yet by playing the politics for months here in the USWA he gets stuck in a dead end tag team with dead weight like Psicosis! Lover says that HE should of been the one getting the title shot against Taz in San Diego, but he has been in the background of the Luchadors here in the USWA, because Vampiro and Konnan are the only two that are allowed to get ahead in this company!
Konnan says that Lover is out of his mind and it's never been like that. If Lover wanted to have singles career all he had to do was file the paperwork and join the X-Division or join the heavyweights to compete for titles, he didn't need to do it the way he did in San Diego.
Latin Lover tells Konnan he is so sick of listening to him try to tell him and the other luchadores how they should act while in the United States, and Lover now considers himself the ANTI-Establishment of the Latinos in the USWA.
Konnan tells Lover that one day their time will come to step in the ring, but it won't be tonight, because he has agreed to step aside and let someone else get his hands on him!
[The music hits and out comes Psicosis. Lover's former Tag Team Partner!]
Latin Lover made Psicosis submit to a Gory Special in 0:07:22. Rating: *** 1/4
Psicosis started this match like a bat out of hell, attacking Lover in the ring with everything he had, but in the end he got caught and Lover submitted his former partner with the Gory Special. After the match Lover took the mic and told Universo 2000 he is coming for his mask, and after he gets that mask and reveals to the world his ugly face, he will then go after Konnan, and take him out of the USWA for good!
Corino/Bradley backstage
[Steve Corino meets up with Steve Bradley backstage.]
Corino asks Bradley if he remembers when he turned his back on Jerry Lynn last year? If he remembers teaming up with Too Cold Scorpio and Sean Waltman to attempt to end the X-Division career of Lynn on Bradleys own terms?
Corino says he sees through Bradleys crap, and plans to make his life in the X-Division a living hell as long as the champion is in his corner, and AJ Styles is competing.
Bradley tells Corino that he should step in the ring himself if he has such a problem with him, and Corino replies that next week he will be in that ring with him, as the REFEREE, and if he lays one finger on him, he will be DQed so fast it will make his head spin.
Corino wishes Bradley good luck next week and walks away with a smirk on his face.
The Island Boys (OG Ekmo and Kimo) defeated The Southern Posse (Rick Thames and Sonny Trout) when Ekmo pinned Sonny Trout with the Ekmo Drop in 0:07:30. Rating: -* 1/4
Another big victory for the Island Boys tonight on TV. The USWA officials have been attempting to get the division back on track, and with the re-debut of the S.A.T.'s some feel that the Island Boys vs the S.A.T.'s is an obvious choice for a match to figure out which team has the most potential.
Daniels attacks Low-KI
[Backstage Low-Ki continues his search for Daniels]
We see a picture of Low-Ki and out of nowhere a man comes from behind and starts choking out Ki with a bullrope! It's Christopher Daniels in street clothes.
As Daniels attempts to strangle the life out of Low-Ki, Ki grabs Daniels throat and starts to weaken him, when out of nowhere he gets hit in the back of the head with a frying pan by TRISH STRATUS!
Trish and Daniels continued to put a beating on Low-Ki until officials ran in and pulled Daniels away.
Ultimo Guerrero pinned Steve Madison with the Ultimo Guerrero-Plex in 0:03:32. Rating: ***
Ultimo Guerrero gets a quick victory over Steve Madison. Guerrero took the mic after the match and told Lover that he was a disgrace to all the luchadors that have come to this country in an attempt to make a better life for themselves and their family.
Taz pinned Vladimir Kozlov after a tiger suplex in 0:10:21. Rating: ** 1/4 [harry smith interfered against Vladimir Kozlov.]
In our Main Event of the evening Taz gets the victory over Kozlov, after Smith takes matters into his own hands and gets a little revenge on Kozlov helping Taz set him up for a loss in the ring. Harry Smith and Taz shook hands after the match and buried the proverbial hatchet from what occurred last week in the main event. Raven looked on from the entrance way in disgust as Taz raised the heavyweight title high above his head to close the show.
Backstage Notes:
Night two in Dallas was the debut of Trish Stratus, and the return of Christopher Daniels. Stratus and the WWE could not come to an agreement on a contract. She has signed a short term deal with the USWA and appears to be the one that will even the odds for Daniels with Trinity around.
Latin Lover's victory over his former tag team partner Psicosis has Konnan wondering what the future will hold for all the luchadores here in the USWA. With Lover going off the deep end, it looks like it will be up to Konnan to attempt to bring him back down to earth after his wild attacks on Universo 2000.
The USWA has announced that they will be hosting a special show from Boston Massachusets on March 28th. This event will be a single Velocity TV Taping, along with a LIVE "SuperBrawl Showdown" event the night before our Pay Per View. Scheduled to be on the card is Taz, CM Punk, Lover, Chris Benoit, and the Island Boys.
The schedule for the USWA has been announced on the website. The dates are until May of 2003. It has been discussed that the 6th show at the Mid South Coliseum in June will be the third annual King of the Death Match Tournament. With the USWA having more national publicity, this tournament has been demoted to the smaller venues.
The USWA has also announced that this summer will be the return of the Global Honor Tournament. The last time this 16 man tournament took place was in 2001 won by Don Frye to become the first ever Global Champion. This year the rules are 16 men will qualify over the summer for a 2 night 16 man tournament The winner of the tournament will be given the GHC (Global Honor Crown) and be the automatic #1 contender to the USWA Heavyweight title. They will get the title match at our August PPV Hardcore Heaven. All competitors for the tournament must be in the heavyweight division and if they win, they can't put the title shot up for grabs in any type of match leading up to the event. The USWA will be bringing in competitors from all over the world to compete in this tournament, which is scheduled to take place in late June/early July.
This winter the tag team division will get it's own tournament. A Round Robin tournament to crown to real world tag league champions. Winners of that tournament will receive a tag title shot going into the 2004 season.
These tournaments along with our one night 8 man x-division tournament will be permanent fixtures in the company.
The USWA now travels to Long Island, NY for two more nights of TV tapings.

In March of last year on the way to L.A. from the Japan tour when he lost the strap to New Jack, he stayed at a travel lodge and had to split a room with the Pitbulls.
No more comped meals, no more luxury automobiles, and no more heavyweight title.

USWA Challenge Long Island, NY Taped: March 11th, 2003 Aired: March 22nd, 2003 Hosts: Dave Brown and Scott Hudson
Konnan made Ultimo Guerrero submit to the Tequila Sunrise in 0:11:22. Rating: **** 1/4
A hot opener for Challenge, as Konnan defeated Ultimo Guerrero to open the show. Konnan was on his game as he heads into SuperBrawl to take on Latin Lover.
Konnan talks about his plans for Latin Lover
[Corey Maclin joins Konnan in the ring.]
Corey comments on the impressive victory today over Guerrero and tells him that Latin Lover is the next guy on his way.
Konnan says that he is so sick of Lover and his new attitude, attacking Psicosis last week backstage, attempting to rip the mask off of Universo 2000, at SuperBrawl it's time to stop trying to talk sense into that man, its time to take him to the woodshed and beat his ass!
Corey mentions that this week on Velocity he will be in the main event against Raven, a man he has a history with, and a man who is also on the path to the heavyweight title.
Konnan says that Raven is another one who he is sick of hearing from. All he does is complain about why he doesn't have this, why he doesn't have that. Where I grew up we didn't have anything! He should be happy for a roof over his head, food on the table, and the money he has in his pocket. Christopher Daniels is in the ring with Trish Stratus at his side. Daniels says that a big change has taken place in the USWA, A new Global champion. Chris Benoit defeated Low-Ki last week, and the title match Christopher Daniels had set up has no title on the line. Daniels tells the fans that the title won't change the beating that he has in store for Low-Ki at SuperBrawl. Daniels says that this match wasn't put together because he wants to win back that title, this math was put together to get revenge. Revenge for putting him on the shelf for a month, revenge on the man who thought he can win that belt and run around this company like he was the owner himself! At Superbrawl, revenge is going to be extracted on Low-Ki, and if Trinity thinks she's going to get involve in the match, he has a little blonde bombshell that will make sure she thinks twice! Steve Madison pinned Julio Sanchez with the Brainbuster in 0:05:05. Rating: **** 1/4 Ahmed Johnson talks about Global Title(Ahmed Johnson joins Lance Russell for an interview.) Russell says that Ahmed has been enjoying the week after his big win over Jerry Lynn right here last week. Last week, as Daniels said at the beginning of the show, the landscape has changed here in the USWA. Low-KI is out as champion and Chris Benoit is our new champ. Tonight, Ahmed Johnson wants to state his claim at the USWA Global championship and he wants Chris Benoit to give him the title match! Lance says that it would be an incredible match and hopes it can get done, because the fans would love to see those two in the ring. Tomorrow night Taz says he will defend the title successfully for the seventh time. The excuses that he isn't a fighting champion, the excuses that he dodges the real competition will be put to rest when he takes Raven and chokes him out in the middle of the ring in front of thousands of crazy Philadelphia fans. Raven will be the one with all the excuses when he gets choked out in the middle of the ring! SuperBrawl Hype Central(Lance Wright welcomes the fans to Hype Central) Lance tells the fans that it all comes to ahead this weekend on Pay-Per-View as the USWA presents its second Pay Per View of the year, SuperBrawl. Konnan vs Latin Lover -In this heavyweight division match, Konnan will go into the ring to defend the honor of Psicosis, Universo 2000 and all the luchadores that Latin Lover has disrespected since his sudden attitude change. Will Konnan be able to step into the ring and teach Lover a lesson? Or will Latin Lover's singles career continue to turn heads? Konnan will be the best competition that Latin Lover has faced since he's joined the heavyweight division. Tag Team Title Match (C) The Bulldogs vs The New Bolsheviks All month long the Bolsheviks have ran past their opponents in an effort to accumulate three points and challenge the Bulldogs for a rematch to the tag team titles. They were sucessful in their efforts. The Bulldogs looked unstoppable in action tonight on Velocity. These two teams meet for the title for the second time this Sunday. Can the Bolsheviks win the titles and claim their first tag team titles? X-Division Title Match (c) Bobby Fish vs CM Punk CM Punk defeated Steve Bradley to earn the status of top contender. Punk has made it clear that the history of the X-Division title should have an asterik next to it because he was never defeated in 2001 for the title. Can CM Punk reclaim the title? Or can Corino's prodigy Bobby Fish make his first sucessful title defense? Bullrope Match Christopher Daniels w/ Trish Stratus vs Low-Ki w/ Trinity -In January of this year Low-Ki and Trinity devised a plan to put Daniels out of action and knock him out of the running for another title shot at his Global title. After weeks of pleading, Trinity portrayed herself as an abused girlfriend who was looking to Daniels for help with her abusive boyfriend Low-Ki. Daniels never did fall for the trap, until late January when Ki attacked Daniels from behind, destroying our television set, and literally attempting to hang Daniels by the ringpost via a bullrope, Daniels was out of action for about a month. Daniels made a surprise appearance and layed a beating on Low-KI and challenging him to this match. The Global title is no longer in Ki's posession, and this match is being advertised as a brawl with pride and revenge on the line. Will we see a side of Daniels that we have never seen in the USWA before? What will Stratus and Trinity bring to this hot feud? We will get our answers on Sunday night! Jerry Lynn and Chris Benoit vs Jun Akiyama and Coming off New Years Revolution this match was designed to be the final confrontation between these the four men, until Samoa Joe suffered an injury during a USWA event. Joe has been day to day and nobody has been signed to fill in for him. We do not know if Jun will bring a mystery man to the PPV or of Joe will be healthy enough to take part in this match. Again we will find out the answers on Sunday. Heavyweight Title Match (c) Taz vs Raven -Since the beginning of the year Raven has made it his own personal mission to make sure Taz is putting the title on the line against the best competition in 2003. So far Taz has defeated former champion New Jack on our last PPV along with a big victory over Konnan in February. This time Raven gets the chance to step into the ring himself and try to make history becoming the first ever two time USWA Heavyweight champion. A few weeks ago, Raven explained what it was like being the heavyweight champion, it is a feeling he wants back badly. Taz is trying to fulfill his destiny by becoming the greatest USWA champion in the history of the company. Can Taz make Raven his seventh successful title defense? or will Raven become the two time champion that he craves so badly? We will find out the answers as USWA Presents SuperBrawl only on Pay Per View this Sunday night! Jun Akiyama pinned Ahmed Johnson with the Exploder in 0:06:18.Rating: ** 1/2
Jun Akiyama defeated Ahmed Johnson and is the first person to pin Ahmed Johnson in singles competition since he debuted in the USWA! WOW, We don't know exactly what this does for Ahmed's future Global title shot, but Jun Akiyama has sent shockwaves through the USWA with this victory today in our Main Event! Backstage Notes:Sean Morely no showed the six man match that was the start of a program that the company was putting together with the Island boys. Dundee was spotted on the phone in a shouting match with who we can only assume was Morely. Dundee told some other members of the management team that Morley had been fired and to not book him on any upcoming shows. The USWA has made it clear they are attempting to cut down the roster, even with the contract to present the 12 Mid-South shows. Look for a lot of changes in the roster as Dundee continues to trim the fat as programs finish up the first quarter of 2003. Any no shows or unexcused absences from shows may result in an immediate dismissal from the company. Tomorrow night the USWA will present SuperBrawl and finish up our shows for March. We will have a crew at the Mid South Coliseum for a show on Monday night and then head to Detroit two days of TV tapings to kick off the second quarter of the year.

AJ Styles pinned Steve Bradley with the Styles Clash in 0:09:10. Rating: **** [Steve Corino interfered against Steve Bradley.]
Steve Corino did whatever he could to assure his man AJ Styles came out of this opening match a victor, and Steve Bradley moves down the ranks of the X-Division. Corino got involved in the match by distracting the referee as giving AJ Styles the opportunity to grab a chair and smash it over the back of Bradley. A Styles clash finisher sealed the fate of Bradley, who now must start at the bottom of the barrel in the X-Division.
The Bulldogs (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) defeated The New Bolsheviks (Vladimir Kozlov and Alex Koslov) when Harry pinned V. Kozlov after a tiger suplex in 0:15:12. Rating: *** 1/4 (The Bulldogs retained the Tag Team Title.)
The Bulldogs successfully defended the Tag Team titles in our second match of the night. Smith hit Kozlov with the tiger suplex for the victory and proved why the Bulldogs team still has the power to compete with teams like the Bolsheviks and The Island Boys.
Konnan defeated Latin Lover when Latin Lover passed out in the Tequila Sunrise in 0:08:11. Rating: **** [Universo 2000 interfered against Latin Lover.]
Konnan gets the victory, but only after a heated Universo 2000 approached the ringside area and took the timekeepers bell. When Latin Lover snuck outside the ring, Universo 2000 clocked Lover over the head with the bell and then threw him back into the ring. Konnan locked on the Tequilla Sunrise and the ref called for the bell as Lover wasn't responding. Medics had to come to the ring to help Latin Lover to the back. Universo 2000 took the mic and dared Lover to show up in Detroit for TV, because he will finish the job and send him back to Mexico.
Bobby Fish defeated CM Punk via pinfall in 0:09:57. Rating: **** (Bobby Fish retained the X-Division Title.) [Steve Corino interfered against CM Punk.]

Bullrope Match Christopher Daniels pinned Low-Ki with the Last Rites in 0:08:00. Rating: *** 3/4 [Trinity interfered against Christopher Daniels] [Trish Stratus interfered against Low-Ki]
Daniels showed us a whole new side of violence tonight against Low-Ki in this match. The two took this thing to the arena halls and into the mens bathroom, outside the arena and back to the ring during different points of the match. Trinity tried to break up a pin when Stratus made her presence known by tackling Trinity and having a fight of their own. Stratus got the upper hand and then even hit Low-Ki with a low blow during the match. The finish came when Daniels performed his last rites finishing maneuver on a bruised and battered Low-Ki.
Samoa Joe and Jun Akiyama defeated Jerry Lynn and Chris Benoit when Joe made Lynn submit to a Texas Cloverleaf in 0:16:15. Rating: ***
It was a shock, but Samoa Joe was cleared to wrestle and Joe and Akiyama looked like a completely different team tonight. A victory over Benoit and Jerry Lynn has revitalized these two. Jun Akiyama dished out punishment to the new Global champion Chris Benoit, and in a stare down he pointed to his waist to claim that he wants that Global title himself! Samoa Joe made Lynn tap in the Texas Cloverleaf giving his team the victory at SuperBrawl.
Taz pinned Raven after a bridging back suplex in 0:16:03. Rating: *** 3/4 (Taz retained the Heavyweight Title.)
In a match that was closer than most people expected, Taz did defend the heavyweight title over Raven, but he wasn't able to make Raven tap out. After the match Raven took the mic and even proclaimed Taz as a lier to his fans, because he didn't make good on his promise to choke out Raven. Raven told Taz he might have gotten a victory tonight, but he is weak, and he can tell that his reign is coming to an end.
Backstage Notes:
A hot Pay Per View for the fans tonight and a wild one as we head into the second half of the season.
Raven is still in the head of Taz. Raven didn't win the title tonight, and lost when Taz executed a picture perfect bridging back suplex getting the pinfall on Raven, but in the end Raven continued to patronize the heavyweight champion because he wasn't able to finish him off the way he claimed he would.
Raven will not get the next titile shot, but it doesn't look like he's going away anytime soon either.

Raven says that in 2002 the San Francisco Giants took the Angels to seven games. They were one game away from becoming the World Series champions in 2002. Now in 2003 the Giants will have another shot to win the title.
At SuperBrawl I came so close to defeating Taz, but it just wasn't my time. As much as I want that title back around my shoulder, as much as I want back in those first class seats, it didn't happen.
But the spring of 2003 has started, and with a new season, comes new opportunity. In a six man tag two weeks ago, I hit the champion with the evenflow DDT to score the pinfall. When was the last time Taz was pinned? It's been a long time.
I don't care if I have to fight Taz every night all around this circuit, soon enough I will get the best of him, and I will become the heavyweight champion once again.
Number-One-Contenders-Match AJ Styles pinned CM Punk with the Styles Clash in 0:05:37. Rating: **** 1/4

Corino butts in and says that CM Punk, Alex Shelley, and even this newcomer Prince Devitt are all on the radar. Bobby Fish is a fighting champion, and a winner! If you think you can handle Fish, step up to the plate!
Bad Intentions (Giant Bernard and Karl Anderson) and Low-Ki and King Fale battled to a draw in 0:15:00. Rating: *** 1/2 [Steve Corino interfered against Low-Ki.] [Steve Corino interfered against King Fale.]
This tag team brawl went to draw due to television time. This was the first time that Low-Ki has teamed with the newcomer King Fale. The two have formed an alliance with Trinity at their side. Low-Ki hung strong against Anderson and Bernard, and fended off Steve Corino as well. Very impressive for these two.
Raven pinned Jerry Lynn after a swinging neckbreaker in 0:06:10. Rating: *** 3/4

Ahmed Johnson pinned Chris Benoit with the Pearl River Plunge in 0:07:06. Rating: *** 1/2 (Ahmed Johnson won the Global Title.)
The destiny of Ahmed Johnson has been complete. He has won his first ever USWA Title. He is the new Global champion. At the end of this match Chris Benoit stood up and presented the belt to Ahmed Johnson.
Backstage Notes:
With a trimmed down roster, the USWA has finished night one of the TV tapings from Atlanta. A wild turn of events as Ahmed Johnson wins his first ever USWA championship.
Low-Ki and King Fale look to be a decent unit, and I could only assume we will see more of them in the near future.
The Tag Team Division is at a peak right now, with Bad Intentions, The Island Boys, The Bulldogs, and The New Bolsheviks all competing for the title. Rumor has it that Bill Dundee has made phone calls to several former USWA tag teams about maybe making a return to the company.
The April and May schedule will continue to have Challenge and Velocity TV programs, and will finish up on a hardcore non PPV event titled, Extreme Dreams. The show will be focused around two barbed wire matches, in honor of our former tournament the King of the Death Match.

Latin Lover told Konnan that the USWA isn't big enough for the both of them, and eventually someone is going to have to go!
X Division members discuss tonights main event.
(a video plays highlights of both Bobby Fish and AJ Styles. As the video plays we have cut ins from different USWA X-division stars.)
CM punk says that he has seen enough of Bobby Fish and AJ Styles to know that AJ is going to be the next champion.
Alex Shelley says that nobody has been able to climb the X-Division ladder faster than Bobby Fish. Shelley also says that Fish will retain the title.
Prince Devitt says that he has only been in the USWA for a short while, but he knows AJ Styles from Japan. He put his money on AJ Styes to walk away the new champion.
Bobby Fish pinned AJ Styles with the Falcon Arrow in 0:13:04. Rating: *** 3/4 (Bobby Fish retained the X-Division Title.)
Bobby Fish defeats his stable mate AJ Styles in a wild match for the title. Steve Corino joined Lance Russell and Corey Maclin at ringside the the match. Cornio said he was staying out of this and would let his men solve their own problems. Bobby Fish caught AJ in the Falcon Arrow and retained his USWA title. After the match the two of them shook hands. AJ Styles took the mic and told Fish he appreciated the shot at the title, but right now, Corino family business is the only thing on his mind! Steve Corino hit the ring and raised the hands of both of his clients. Out came Bad Intentions as Steve Corino claimed that the fans were looking at the future of this company!
Backstage Notes:
A major house show is in the works for Richmond, Virginia as Konnan will get another shot at Taz heavyweight title. The Bulldogs will also defend the titles against The Island Boys, due to their win in the battle royal a few weeks ago.
We have another set of tapings for Louisville, KY set to tape tomorrow night. Taz, Raven, Lover and Vampiro, Ahmed Johnson, The Bulldogs and others will all be on hand for another big night of action.

USWA Challenge Louisville, KY Taped: April 29th, 2003 Airs: May 10th, 2003 Hosts: Scott Hudson and Dave Brown
Dave Brown and Scott Hudson run down the show.
(Camera zooms in on the announcers at ringside as Dave Brown welcomes the fans.)
Dave Brown tells the fans that they are going to be in for a wild hour of pro wrestling today on Challenge. CM Punk will be taking on Steve Bradley in singles action. The winner will challenge Bobby Fish for the X-Title at a future show.
Dave also reminds the fans that tonight Trinity will be taking on Trish Stratus in a one on one match. This is the match to settle the score between these two women. All managers have been banned from ringside, and we will have a positive finish.
Scott Hudson then reminds Dave not to forget about tonights huge main event as Chad Collyer will be in a handicap match against two guys that have been known to do some of Ravens dirty work, the New Bolsheviks. Dave Brown chimes in telling Scott that if Collyer wins that match, he will be getting a rematch with Raven in the near future.
Dave tells the fans not to go anywhere, because USWA Challenge is on the air, and they will be back after a commercial break.
Chad Collyer asks for a rematch with Raven.
(Scott Hudson brings out Chad Collyer.)
Scott tells Chad that we all know about tonights main event against the New Bolsheviks and just wondered what makes him think he will be able to come up with a victory in this handicap match?
Chad tells Hudson that last week he wanted to make a name for himself in the heavyweight division. Collyer says that sometimes guys get lost in the shuffle here in the USWA, and he doesn't want to be one of those guys. Collyer says that when he lost to Raven he knew that his career here might be in jeopardy.
Hudson tells Chad thats nonsense, and he has a bright future here in the USWA.
Chad says that after that match he got on the phone with a mentor of his and asked him for advice. That advice was if you want to make it to the top, you have to die trying. That mentor was Dean Malenko, who is here today to watch my back in my match later on.
(Out comes Dean Malenko to a wild ovation.)
Scott Hudson is shocked by the appearance of Dean Malenko, and gives Dean the mic.
Dean says that Collyer is a good kid who deserves an opportunity. Malenko says that he trained Chad for three years on how to get things done in the ring, but it's that killer instinct outside of the ring that only he can teach himself.
Chad says that tonight if he goes on to beat Alex and Vladimir, he will get another shot at Raven, and this time it will be Ravens rules!
Scott Hudson wishes Chad the best of luck and asks the fans to give it up one more time for the man of 1,000 holds, Dean Malenko!
Steve Bradley and CM Punk battled to a double pin in 0:07:58. Rating: **** 1/4
A wild X-division match with two of our top contenders ended in a double pin due to a cradle roll. After the match both Bradley and Punk wanted to know what this meant for their next opportunity at the X-Division title.
Out comes USWA President Bill Dundee who tells both men that they will NOT be getting a title shot, and that a three way dance in Richmond will take place between Matt Sydal, Alex Shelley and Prince Devitt will determine who faces Bobby Fish later on in the show.
Both Bradley and CM Punk look at each other in disgust, blaming one another for the outcome of the match.
Steve Corino claims to have a big announcement.
(Dave Brown tells the fans that he will be joined by Steve Corino in just a few minutes, but first he runs down some of the USWA upcoming shows.)
Steve Cornio makes his way to the announce position and greets Brown and Hudson.
Dave Brown tells Corino that last week on Velocity his two men AJ Styles and Bobby Fish took the X-Division to a whole new level in their title match.
Corino arrogantly agrees with Dave, but tells him that the business between two of the best x-division competitors is now over, and it's on to new business for the Corino family. Steve tells Dave and the fans that they will want to tune into Velocity tonight, because he has FINALLY signed his first heavyweight division talent to a Corino family contract!
Dave Brown says that sounds like big news, and asks for a hint as to who this new client might be?
Cornio says that it's a man who has seemed lost in recent months, a man that has proved his worth to the company many times, and a man that, with a little guidance might just become the next USWA Heavyweight Champion!
Brown says that this is big news, and that the Corino Family just keeps growing!
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match with Managers Banned From Ringside Trinity pinned Trish Stratus with the Moonsault in 0:08:06. Rating: ** 1/2
A wild match to finally end the feud between Stratus and Trinity. These two women have been going at it ever since Christopher Daniels introduced Trish to the world in an effort to even the odds against Low-KI.
The match started off in Trish Stratus favor when she executed multiple kicks to Trinity's head, but over time Trinity was able to work over Trish and hit her moonsault finisher to gain the clean pin victory. Trinity celebrated in the ring like she's never won a match in her life! She jumped on the mic and said that she beat the self proclaimed worlds greatest womens professional wrestler!
Trinity continued to mock Trish and tell her that she is the first lady of the USWA and that nobody has ever beaten her in this company!
No-Countout-No-DQ-Handicap-Match Chad Collyer defeated The New Bolsheviks (Vladimir Kozlov and Alex Koslov) when C. Collyer made A. Koslov submit to the Texas Cloverleaf in 0:09:45. Rating: *** 1/2 [Raven interfered against Chad Collyer.] [Kimo interfered against Vladimir Kozlov.]
A WILD main event tonight as Chad Collyer asked the ref to make this a no DQ matchup. The Bolsheviks agreed and all hell broke loose in this one. Collyer started the match in control over Alex, but once the double team power moves were put into play, Collyer was stopped in his tracks.
Chad continued to get the upper hand on Alex, until Raven made his way down to the ring. Raven at one point threw a stop sign to Alex, but it was intercepted by Chad, who used to to get Vladimir off his feet!
As the match continued, Out comes the tag team #1 contenders the Island Boys, who wanted to make sure The New Bolsheviks saw them at ringside. As the match continued, Vladimir pounded away on a smaller Chad Collyer. At one point in the match Kozlov hit Collyer with his Red Scare finisher, but Collyer got his shoulder up!
As the momentum started to change in Chads favor, Dean Malenko jumped up on the ring apron distracting Senior official Downtown Bruno, giving Kimo time to throw the ringside bell to Chad, who then used it on Vladimir to knock him out cold! Chad went for a Russian legsweep into the Texas Cloverleaf finisher on Alex, who tapped as Collyer pointed at Dean Malenko at ringside dedicating the victory to his mentor!

USWA Velocity TV Louisville, KY Taped: April 29th, 2003 Aired: May 10th, 2003 Announcers: Lance Russell and Corey Maclin
Steve Corino introduces a new member to the Corino Family.
(Steve Corino hits the ring with X-Division champ Bobby Fish and Bad Intentions, and AJ Styles.)
With a grin on his face, Steve Corino tells the fans that he can't wait any longer. Corino explains that he received a phone call from a man that will remain nameless. This man asked Corino for some help. He said that a certain someone on the USWA roster has been causing some MAJOR distractions for him in a very important time in his life.
Cornio pauses and looks around giving a smile to all of his Cornio Family clients. Steve continues and says that once the check cleared, he was given a mission, that mission was to "eliminate" a certain someone from the USWA, and by god thats what he plans to do.
Corino then asks the fans to allow him to introduce the newest client to the family.....
(Everyone looks toward the dressing room as the music hits, the fans are in disbelief...as JUN Akiyama makes his way to the ring!)
Corino high fives X-Division champion Bobby Fish and tells the fans that he now has control over one of the greatest Heavyweight champions in the history of the USWA! Jun Akiyama!
Jun walks into the ring and shakes hands with Cornio, Giant Bernard, Karl Anderson and AJ Styles.
Corino says that Jun Akiyama is still the greatest champion in the history of the company, and that with his direction he is going to guide Akiyama back on the path that he needs to be on to get that shot, BUT FIRST a little tune up. With a large bonus, Jun Akiyama is on a new mission. That mission is to completely destroy The Latin Lover!
Corino says that the Latin Lover hasn't done a thing to the Corino family, but money talks.
The camera zooms in on the face of Jun Akiyama as Corino tells Lover that he is looking at his worst nightmare!
(Steve Corino's music hits as everyone leaves the ring.)
Backstage Taz has words for Ahmed Johnson
(A camera crew meets up with Taz who is in the locker room.)
Taz said that last week in the tag team match, nothing has been resolved between him and Ahmed Johnson. Taz says the he knows that Johnson thinks he has been dodging him as of late, but thats not the case. Taz says that the thing that pisses him off, is that Dundee has made the decision that Ahmed Johnson would be the special guest referee during the Konnan match.
Taz continues that Dundee gave him a bullshit excuse that he needed some muscle in as the ref in case Vampiro and Latin Lover decide to get involved, but in the end, Taz says he doesn't trust Johnson one bit. He knows that Ahmed has been eying that Heavyweight title from the second he stepped foot in this company. He knows that his old buddy New Jack, who tapped out and lost the title is the one who brought Ahmed to the table, and a victory over Taz is just what Johnson has been waiting for.
Taz tells Johnson that all those questions are going out the door tonight. Because tonight, no titles on the line, one on one, The Heavyweight champion is going to step in the ring with the Global champion Ahmed Johnson! Taz is going to take Johnson down in the ring, and give him an example of what he can look forward to if he decided to pull and crap during his heavyweight title match.
Backstage Latin Lover promo.
(Latin Lover is in his dressing room throwing anything he can get his hands on.)
Lover looks into the camera and tells Konnan that he knows he is the one who put the bounty on his head. Lover just laughs it off and tells Konnan that he will pay for what he's done! Lover says that he will stop at nothing to make sure that the USWA title NEVER gets around his waist.
Match with Managers Banned From Ringside Raven pinned Jerry Lynn after a swinging neckbreaker in 0:05:06. Rating: ****
Raven went one on one with the USWA legend Jerry Lynn and in the process he separated Lynns shoulder. As Jerry rolled around the ring in pain while the medical team attended to him, Raven told Chad Collyer that this was a little preview of what happens when you play by Ravens Rules!
Backstage Vampiro has good news for Latin Lover.
(Still in Latin Lovers dressing room Vampiro enters.)
Lover tells Vampiro that he doesn't want to talk to anyone and that he should leave, but Vampiro tells Lover that he should be so upset. Vampiro tells Lover that he hates Konnan as much as anyone, and that in their years in Mexico, for as many fans that praise Konnans name, their are plenty of people who can't stand him.
Vampiro tells Lover to trust him, because before Konnan got here to the USWA, it was Vampiro that was bringing in all the talent from south of the border.
Interview The Bulldogs cut a promo on the Island Boys.
(The tag team champions hit the ringside area.)
Lance Russell comments to Harry Smith that they have been on a roll defending those tag team championships.
Harry Smith says that it's been a wild month with the USWA. Tag teams are winning title shots, teams are getting knocked out backstage, and some teams are losing handicap matches on Challenge!
Lance tells the fans that he is referring to the New Bolsheviks loss to Chad Collyer.
Doug Williams tells Russell that this upcoming weekend they will give the Island Boys the tag title shot that they earned last month in Detroit, but they are not happy with the way they have been going about handling business as of late.
Williams tells Kimo and Ekmo that they have been on both sides of the train tracks. They have cheated their way to victory, and they've also done it the right way. Williams warns the Island Boys that the Bulldogs are still more than willing to go back to those days if thats what it takes to keep the gold.
Harry Smith tells Richmond Virginia that they are about to see the best of the best in the tag team division!
Lance wishes the Bulldogs luck in their title defense!
Karl Anderson defeated King Fale by countout in 0:03:37. Rating: ** [Steve Corino, and Christopher Daniels interfered against King Fale.]
Anderson gets a victory for the Corino family while King Fale had distractions coming from all sides. Steve Corino continued to distract the referee, and eventually Christopher Daniels came down to give Fale a hard time. Fale walked out on the match claiming that the referee didn't have control of the match because of all the distractions at ringside!
Taz made Ahmed Johnson submit to an armbar submission in 0:13:01. Rating: * 1/2
Taz, the heavyweight champion makes Ahmed Johnson, the GLOBAL champion submit in the middle of the ring! A battle of the big men, as champion vs champion took place to a positive finish. Taz got on the mic and told Ahmed that if he even thinks about putting his title reign in jeopardy, he better think again!
Backstage Notes:
-King Fale and Karl Anderson has been rescheduled for next week's Challenge. Bill Dundee is not happy with the outcome of that match.
-Jun Akiyama has joined the Corino family and it looks like his career might be back on track. It's been said behind closed doors that his partnership with Samoa Joe just didn't work out. Samoa Joe has left the promotion, which will give Akiyama a new opportunity to get back in the big picture of the company.
-After the show a shocking announcement was made that Jerry Lynn has given notice. Jerry Lynn has been with the USWA since it's early beginnings, but it has been known that he felt that his time was running out. He wasn't given a title shot, which really upset him. The USWA is going to dedicate next weeks Velocity to Jerry Lynn and he will be in the main event, given a dream match!
The USWA house show that will take place this upcoming weekend looks to be a big one. The fans of Richmond are in for a great night of professional wrestling. Check out the lineup below.
-Jerry Lynn will take on a mystery opponent
-Matt Sydal vs Alex Shelley vs Prince Devitt-Winner vs Fish for the X-title later on in the show.
-Raven vs Chad Collyer (Ravens Rules.)
-Low Ki vs Chris Daniels (Cage Match)
-Jun Akiyama vs Latin Lover
-The Bulldogs vs The Island Boys
-Main event- Taz vs Konnan for the heavyweight title. Ahmed Johnson as guest ref.
The main event has so many sub plots. Ahmed Johnson will be the special guest referee, it is known that he is not a big fan of Taz, because he feels he has dodged him in the past.
Bill Dundee has asked Ahmed to be the referee to keep Latin Lover and Vampiro away from the ringside, who have their eyes on Konnan. Konnan has apparently paid the Corino Family to "eliminate" Latin Lover from the USWA and keep him away from the ring as he goes on to win his first ever USWA Heavyweight title.
NOBODY knows how this is going to end up, but there is a very good chance that we will leave Richmond, VA with a new Heavyweight Champion!

You have the TV format down with so few matches and a lot of interviews.
Didn't ever picture Akiyama joining up with Corino. I guess maybe the deal took place back when Akiyama no-showed his match with Ahmed a few weeks earlier.
Taz versus Konnan should be an interesting match, especially with Ahmed as the special referee. Looking forward to seeing where that goes.
Good stuff.

Thanks for the feedback. I was beginning to wonder if anyone read the fed anymore. I took the roster down to 30 guys. Akiyama is still one of my personal favorites in the fed, and I just couldn't get things to click with Samoa Joe. Him and Joe were "friends" dating back to an angle from almost a year ago. This I think will get me where I need to go for November, and shakes things up a bit. I am thinking one of the reasons my federation was getting so complicated was because I just have too many people. The smaller TV shows help focus on just a few angles, which I think going forward will make it a lot easier for people to read . I'm going to attempt to post the Richmond results tonight.

USWA Live Event Richmond, VA 5.11.2003
Number-One-Contenders-Triangle Match Alex Shelley and Matt Sydal and Prince Devitt battled to a triple countout in 0:13:57. Rating: ** 3/4
The opening match between these three X-division stars was put together in order to name a contender to Bobby Fish's X-Division title, but in the end the action was too much for old Frank Morell who called for the TRIPLE countout! when the action hit the floor.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Jerry Lynn beat Dean Malenko 2 falls to 1: x D. Malenko beat Lynn via the Texas Cloverleaf in 0:08:12 x Lynn beat D. Malenko via a flying legdrop in 0:15:46 x Lynn beat D. Malenko via a top-rope Frankensteiner in 0:17:11 Rating: **** 1/4
As Jerry Lynn's music hit, it was apparent that word has leaked to the internet about his eventual departure from the USWA. The fans gave him a 2 minute standing ovation when they announced his name. Fans in the crowd also chanted "please don't go."
Lynn's mystery opponent ended up being "The Shooter" Dean Malenko, who would be making his first every appearance in a USWA ring. Lynn asked to make it a 2/3 falls match and Downtown Bruno made the call to fulfill his request. The match went back and forth with the crowd clearly on the side of Jerry Lynn. Lynn got caught in the Texas Cloverleaf after Malenko hit an excellent belly to back suplex, into the spinning toe hold. Once he had done the damage to Lynn's knee, Malenko put him in the Texas Cloverleaf and got the first fall.
In the second fall Lynn scored the pin after dodging a front face lock attempt by Malenko. He then nailed Malenko with a springboard dropkick and followed it up with a springboard leg drop. The pin came out of nowhere, and Malenko seemed to be annoyed that we were even at two falls apiece.
The third and final fall went to Jerry Lynn as the crowd once again erupted. Malenko tried to wear down Lynn with a northern lights suplex and once again went for the Texas Cloverleaf, but Lynn was able to kick off Malenko, and with an injured knee, placed Malenko on the top rope and hit him with an amazing top rope frankensteiner to get the win. Once again the crowd went crazy for Lynn and broke out into a "please don't go" chant.
[Ravens rules]: No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match Raven pinned Chad Collyer after a power bomb in 0:20:43. Rating: **** 3/4
Ravens rules were made clear to the fans that it would be a no countout, no DQ, falls count anywhere in the arena, and anything goes! Chad came to the ring in jeans and taped fists. He knew what his night was going to be in for, and it didn't take long for this one to get wild.
The match went into the audience right from the beginning. Collyer dodged a hot shot and hit Raven with a lariat on the concrete that made everyone cringe. Raven was busted open early in the match and was a bloody mess. Collyer was given a baseball bat from a fan in the crowd and had no hesitations using it on the former heavyweight champion.
Raven would eventually get his hands on the ringside bell and a staple gun, but wouldn't be able to get a pin on Collyer. Raven let out his frustrations by shoving the official Mickey Jay, but Jay wouldn't stand for it and shoved Raven right back. The time limit would go onto expire, but with the crowd enjoying this brawl, Mickey granted them five more minutes.
It looked like the end of Raven when Collyer hit him with a spinebuster to the concrete, and then smashed him with the ringside bell, but out of nowhere Raven was able to get his composure and nail Chad with a powerbomb to the floor. This knocked Chad out cold and Raven got the victory.
A dazed and confused Raven held out his arms and smiled as he wore a crimson mask. The victory went to Raven, but the "he's hardcore" chants were saved for Chad Collyer as he made his way back to the locker room a beaten man.
The Bulldogs (Doug Williams and Harry Smith) defeated The Island Boys (OG Ekmo and Kimo) when Williams pinned Ekmo after a springboard moonsault in 0:11:08. Rating: *** 1/4 (The Bulldogs retained the Tag Team Title.)
The tag team champions successfully retained their titles tonight. Doug Williams hit back to back springboard moonsaults on OG Ekmo while Harry Smith cut off Kimo from breaking up the ref's three count.
Cage Match Christopher Daniels defeated Low-Ki by escaping the cage in 0:16:25. Rating: *** 1/4
The final showdown between Daniels and Low-Ki ends when Christopher Daniels successfully escapes the cage, defeating former Global champion Low-Ki. Now that Daniels has this chapter in his life past him, some are hinting at the fact he might want to put his name back in the X-Division.
Jun Akiyama pinned Latin Lover with the Exploder in 0:09:39. Rating: *** 1/2 [Karl Anderson interfered against Latin Lover.] [Vampiro interfered against Jun Akiyama.]
A wild match as The Cornio Family attempts to earn their money by eliminating Latin Lover from the equation of tonights Main Event. Jun did exactly what most of the experts thought he would he, that was match Latin Lovers speed, with pure forearm smashing power. For ever asi moonsault that was attempted by The Latin Lover, it was met with a running forearm smash or a death valley driver, or fisherman buster.
After about six minutes of pure power combinations looked to have ended Latin Lovers night, his com rad Vampiro ran down to the ring to attempt to distract Vampiro, but Corino unleashed the family on Vampiro as Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard successfully eliminated Vampiro from getting involved.
Akiyama hit his exploder finisher and got the victory over Latin Lover. After the match Corino gave Akiyama the "thumbs down" sign from the entrance ramp, signifying for Akiyama to make sure The Lover wouldn't be a problem tonight.
Jun Akiyama pushed the ref out of the ring, and hit his new signature move. A spin-out powerbomb maneuver which caused The Latin Lover to be taken to the back on a stretcher. We have seen a whole new Jun Akiyama, as he looks more like the man who dominated the USWA while defending the heavyweight title over thirteen times just two years ago.
Bobby Fish won via default.
Bobby Fish came to the ring to taunt the fans. Fish said that it looks like tonight would be another day off for the X-Division champion because the USWA were unable to get a clear winner in the opening match tonight.
Fish told the crowd that they didn't deserve to see him in action because he doesn't perform in second rate cities.
As Bobby Fish continued to incite a riot in Richmond, CM Punk came out to the ring and claimed that he would take on Bobby Fish any day of the week. Fish told CM Punk to move to the back of the line because he wasn't about to defend the title in this hell hole. Punk warned Fish that he couldn't dodge everyone in the X-Division, and eventually he's going to meet his match.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match with Special Referee Ahmed Johnson Taz pinned Konnan after hitting him with the ringside bell in 0:09:02. Rating: **** 1/4 (Taz retained the Heavyweight Title.) [Vampiro interfered against Konnan.] [Brian Christopher interfered against Taz.] [Raven interfered against Taz]
Our main event was as interesting as we all thought it would be. Ahmed Johnson was introduced as the head referee in the match and he quickly grabbed the mic and notified the crowd that Latin Lover was NOT in the building, as he was headed to a nearby hospital to get checked out after Jun Akiyama "eliminated" him.
Konnan was introduced first and the crowd went CRAZY. It was obvious that the fans in attendance were expecting to see a new heavyweight champion crowned, and they have accepted Konnan to be the man to do it!
As the Heavyweight Champion was introduced, a part of the crowd also went wild for him, but it seems the tide was turning. The fans were mostly behind Konnan and wanted to see him win his first heavyweight title.
After the first lockup, out from the back comes what some felt was a ghost! But a former major player in the USWA, Brian Christopher walked down to ringside as the fans looked confused as to why he was there. Ahmed Johnson gave him the stare down immediately. As the match went back and forth, out came VAMPIRO to the ringside area. At this time Ahmed took to the outside and warned both Christopher and Vampiro that any interference would get them sent to the back.
The first one to get involved was Vampiro who attacked Konnan when he was sent to the outside. Vampiro found a baseball bat under the ring and threw it into Taz, but Taz refused to use it at first. He would later go on to beat the living hell out of Konnan with it.
The big surprise of the night was when Taz locked Konnan in the Tazmission after a failed dropkick from the second rope. Christopher ran in the ring and broke up the submission. Ahmed got physical and hit Christopher with the Pearl River Plunge as the fans went wild! What Ahmed failed to see was a still bloody Raven running down to the ring and tossing a folding chair to Konnan. Konnan attempted to wrap it around Taz's head, but a duck down move, kick to the mid section and then successfully grabbing the chair and using it himself earned Taz the victory and another title defense.
After the match Taz asked for them to cut his music. He told everyone in the audience he didn't care if the fans cheered him or booed him, he was still the USWA Heavyweight champion. He said that he doesn't care who is put in front of him, he's willing to step in the ring and beat the living hell out of anyone that thinks they've got the guts to take this title away from him!
Backstage Notes:
A wild show from Richmond, VA. We saw Taz somehow leave the building STILL the USWA Heavyweight Champion. Vampiro, Raven, and the RETURN of Brian Christopher? We don't know what Christopher was doing in the building tonight, but I'm sure we will find out when we get to Velocity.
Konnan had another failed attempt at the title, and I'd assume it is safe to say that he won't be getting another shot at the title this year. Although Latin Lover wasn't a factor in the match, Vampiro, one of Konnans historic rivals was still at ringside doing anything he could to keep Konnan from realizing him dream.
Jun Akiyama turned a lot of heads tonight. It might have just been the perfect storm to have him in the ring against an aerial specialist like Latin Lover, but he looked more powerful than ever. His new move looked vicious and we are hoping to get more information on some of the moves he has added to his arsenal and put on display tonight.
Bobby Fish somehow escaped the night without defending his x-division title. Frank Morell has had a history of odd decisions as a referee, and tonights "triple countout" is just another one in the long line of questionable calls. Then to decide not to have Fish defend the title, when he is obligated to do so has a lot of people in the front office wondering what is going on.
Not only did Raven get a pin on Chad Collyer in a brutal hardcore match at the beginning of the night, he caused controversy as he threw the chair in the ring to Konnan in an attempt to get the title off of Taz. Raven has been a thorn in the side of Taz all year, and with his victory tonight, one can only assume he is going to make a claim as the new number one contender. Even after his loss to Taz at SuperBrawl, Raven refuses to go away.
The USWA travels to Hartford, CT this week as we will have two weeks of Challenge and Velocity TV. We do know that this will be Jerry Lynn's final show and a lot of things have been planned to send him off in style. Lynn, who had an amazing match tonight, will get to pick his DREAM MATCH as next weeks Velocity main event.
We will also try to get to the bottom of the return of Brian Christopher, and all the ramifications from tonights big show in Richmond Virginia.

USWA Challenge Hartford, CT May 12th, 2003 Airs: May 17th, 2003 Announcers: DAVE Brown and Scott Hudson
Hudson and Brown run down the show.
(As the camera zooms into the announce table, Hudson and Brown are all smiles.)
Dave Brown shuffles through tonight's lineup card and tells that fans that we have reached the Spring time here in he USWA, and things are getting hot in a hurry!
Hudson says that Richmond Virginia probably hasn't seen action like the USWA gave them over the weekend since Matt Kenseth's victory at the speedway last September!
Dave Brown laughs and says that in the end TAZ is still the USWA heavyweight champion, but the return of Brian Christopher has everyone in the USWA buzzing!
Hudson says that Brian Christopher hasn't been seen in the USWA for over a year, and while pictures on the screen showed some of the action from the heavyweight title match, his tossing the ringbell in for Konnan ended up backfiring and giving a weapon for Taz to use, and led to him getting the pin on Konnan.
Dave Brown tells the fans that today on Challenge we have a huge main event. Chad Collyer teams with the Island Boys to take on Raven and The New Bolsheviks.
Hudson details the "RAVENS RULES" match that occurred in Richmond and how Chad Collyer earned a lot of respect from some of the guys in the locker room for his willingness to take the fight to Raven.
Brown says we will talk to the X-Division champion Bobby Fish, and Christopher Daniels and get word on all the fallout from Richmond.
Hudson also says that a big singles match with Low-Ki and Dean Malenko has been signed for today, which he is looking forward to.
Brown throws it to break but tells the fans not to go away because a Velocity rematch between King Fale and Karl Anderson will be coming up shortly!
Raven and The New Bolsheviks comment on last weeks results
(Scott Hudson tells the fans that he will be joined in a minute by Raven, but not to miss USWA action coming up at the Mid-South coliseum on Sunday night, May 25th. All the USWA superstars plan on being in attendance, with a huge lineup that will be announced shortly.)
Raven makes his way to the announcers area with Alex and Vladimir. Scott Hudson opens things up congratulating him on his victory over the weekend against Chad Collyer.
Raven tells Hudson to take a good look at his black eye, and his stitched up lip. Raven pulls up his shirt and shows Hudson a bandage around his ribs. Raven explains that those wounds will take months to heal, but to become a champion, a man must continue on that path of destiny. With a victory over a young up and comer like Chad Collyer, that patch continues for himself.
Scott then mentions last week on Challenge, the Bolsheviks loss in the 2-1 match against Chad.
Raven stares at Alex Kozlov and explains that he doesn't think Alex is grasping the winning concept that he demands. Kozlov fell victim to a submission maneuver, and he tapped. That's unacceptable. Tonight the odds will be even because Raven is stepping into the main event to make this a six man tag match, and he won't accept anything less than a victory.
Vladimir grabs the mic from Hudson and in broken english taunts the Island Boys for not winning the championship titles. Vlad says he will prove tonight why they should be the number one contenders.
Karl Anderson pinned King Fale with the Stun Gun in 0:09:55. Rating: *** [Trinity interfered against Karl Anderson.]
In a rematch from this past weekends Velocity, Anderson and Fale went at it once again. Tonight we got a pinfall for Anderson when a missed flying forearm from Fale turned into a Stun Gun finisher by Anderson. Karl hit his finisher earlier in the match, but Trinity was able to put Fale's foot on the rope. Steve Corino chased Trinity back to the locker room, and with nobody helping from the outside Anderson gets the win.
Cornio & Bobby Fish talk about Steve Bradley and CM Punk.
(Dave Brown recaps the fluke triple countout in the x-division match in Richmond and then introduces X-Division champion Bobby Fish.)
Dave mentions that he must be well rested after getting the night off over the weekend. Brown suggest that he is dodging opponents.
Corino butts in before Fish could say a word and defends his client, saying that the thought that Fish is dodging any competition is ridiculous!
Fish tells Corino to calm down. Bobby then says that he had nothing to do with the ruling of the referee. If he knew he wasn't going to wrestle that night, he wouldn't even of shown up in Richmond!
Brown tells him that referee Frank Morell is once again under suspension, and that he has a history of "interesting" calls, just ask Christopher Daniels!
Corino says that Frank Morell is one of the most senior officials in the company, and that his license is in good standing in the state of Virginia!
Steve Corino says that he has a great idea. CM Punk and Steve Bradley have been begging for a title shot, and he has a great tag team in Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard who haven't been able to get REAL competition since they got here! Corino suggest a tag match. CM Punk and Bradley vs Bad Intentions. If Punk and Bradleys team get the victory, whoever scores the pinfall can get a title shot against Fish on Sunday night May 25th at the Mid South Coliseum!
Dave Brown immediately suspicious of the intentions of Cornio asks what is in it for him?
Corino suggest that if Anderson/Bernard get the victory, they will go on to face the tag team champions!
Dave Brown actually thinks that would be a great match and says that they will wait to hear word from President Dundee to see if they can get that match signed.
Low-Ki pinned Dean Malenko with the Ki Crusher in 0:10:52. Rating: *** [Trinity interfered against Dean Malenko.]
An excellent match between Low-Ki and Malenko who have very similar hard hitting and submission style wrestling maneuvers. Low-Ki got the victory after hitting the Ki-Crusher on the jr. heavyweight legend. The real story after the match was when Chad Collyer came down to the ring to help Malenko up and Low-Ki gave a hard stare to Collyer. Collyer avoided a confrontation tonight, but it was a surreal moment as the former Global Champion attempted to strike a little fear in Chad Collyer.
Christopher Daniels announces a move to the X-Division.
(Scott Hudson comments on Christopher Daniels victory over Low-Ki in the cage in Richmond, and that tonight we are going to learn about his future.)
Hudson brings out Christopher Daniels to a nice ovation from the crowd. Hudson tells Daniels that 2003 didn't start off well for him. A loss of the Global title, and then the injury from Trinity and Ki that put him on the shelf for a bit, but redemption over Low-Ki is now over and it's back to real competition.
Daniels says that Scott is exactly correct, Daniels again thanks Trish Stratus for her help in the feud with Ki and Trinity, but that his focus now is to get his name back in the mix for championship titles. Daniels says that everybody comes to the USWA with goal to win a title, make the money that comes with being the champion, and have their name go down in the history books.
Daniels said that his run as the Global champion was something that nobody can take away from him, but now he sees the X-Division becoming the focus of the promotion. AJ Styles, Steve Bradley, CM Punk, Bobby Fish... some of the best talent on this roster compete in that division, and now that the proper paperwork has been submitted, Daniels will be putting his name in the hat to compete!
Scott Hudson says that watching him compete in the X-Division is going to be a treat for him and all the fans of the USWA!
The Island Boys (OG Ekmo and Kimo) and Chad Collyer defeated The New Bolsheviks (Vladimir Kozlov and Alex Koslov) and Raven when Kimo pinned A. Koslov with the Kimo-Therapy in 0:10:14. Rating: *** 3/4
Koslov once again is pinned in the ring on Challenge, this time by Kimo of the Island Boys. As Collyer and the Boys celebrated their victory, Raven attacked Alex Koslov in the ring. Vladamir stepped in and pushed Raven away from his tag partner. It looks like the alliance between the Bolsheviks and Raven ended tonight on challenge, but that seems to be par for the course when it comes to Raven making friends.
Television Notes:
Velocity this week will have a main event of Jerry Lynn taking on an opponent of his choosing for his final match in the USWA. Velocity will be dedicated to one of the most respected men in the company this week.
The 5th USWA Mid South Coliseum show is being promoted on tv as a large show. We should have an idea of the main event after Velocity this week. Although a lot of folks are looking forward to the Mid-South show, June 8th is another big date on the calendar as our first major show since the Super Brawl PPV will be held.
During the Velocity tapings Brian Christopher had his first match back against AJ Styles. The match went 30 minutes and obviously was too long for TV. Highlights of the match will be shown on Velocity, and you won't believe the actions of AJ Styles.
All the big names of the USWA will be on hand for Velocity this week. Konnan, Ahmed Johnson, the Heavyweight champion Taz and Jun Akiyama will be in action as well!

I really enjoyed the event in Richmond. Really good stuff, and I was pretty surprised Taz was still able to walk out of there with the title.
This kind of has a mid '90 ECW feel to it which I am really into.
I'm hoping Dean Malenko isn't turning into a job boy. I'd love to see some sort of push for him.
Story lines continue to grow, and the stuff with Raven definitely has my attention. Keep up the good work, I'll be reading.
