Lance Russell talks about the developments in the X-Division after Christmas Chaos.
(Still photos show Alex Shelley getting involved in the X-Division match between Prince Devitt and La Mascara at Christmas Chaos.)
Lance talks about how Shelley attempted to help Prince Devitt by throwing him an foreign object to use on La Mascara during the title match. La Mascara was able to intercept the weapon and use it to his advantage on his so called "friend" Prince Devitt. Devitt eventually retained the title. Devitt was frustrated that La Mascara used the weapon and tried to explain that he didn't ask Shelley for any help.
La Mascara thinks that Devitt was willing to do whatever it takes to keep the X-Division title around his waist.
Russell takes us to comments from La Mascara.
Backstage@ Mid-South Coliseum post Christmas Chaos La Mascara accuses Devitt of conspiring with Alex Shelley.
(In the locker room an exhausted La Mascara comments to the camera)
La Mascara talks about how he had respect for Devitt when he asked him to be his tag partner, and he held up his side of the bargain retaining the title at A Night to Remember.
Now that it was time for himself to get the title shot, it seems that he needed an edge in Alex Shelley to come down and distract him. La Mascara said he isn't sorry for using the steel chair on Prince Devitt, because if he didn't, Devitt would have. La Mascara pleads to his fans that he is an honorable wrestler and wouldn't bend the rules, but he was pushed to make a split second decision.
La Mascara thinks he should get a rematch with stipulations in place to make sure outside interference isn't a problem. La Mascara suggests a steel cage match and tells Devitt that it's up to him to accept the challenge.
Island Boys talk about leading Block A
(In the Locker room @ the Grady Cole Center)
OG Ekmo and Kimo talk about how they are in a great place on top of the leader board of the A-Block with no more matches to go, but they will be keeping their eye on the Can-Am Express who could tie up the Block A standings in Johnson City, TN.

2003 Year End Awards Best Angle Winner: Steve Corino introduces the Corino Family - 2/8/03 Long Beach, CAIn February of 2003, former USWA tag team champion Steve Corino announced that he would be offering up his services as not only a manager to new talent, but an agent who could get his men big money matches, and title opportunities. Bobby Fish was one of the first men on board and was able to win the X-Division title. He also brought in Bad Intentions Karl Anderson and Giant Bernard who would go on to win the tag team titles. The one title that Corino was never able to get in his possession was the Triple Crown championship. With the signing of Christopher Daniels, 2004 might be the year for that to happen! Rookie of the Year Winner: Prince Devitt In a year with an outstanding rookie class, Prince Devitt is a man who has turned some heads in the X-Division in his rookie year. Devitt made his USWA debut on April second in Detroit Michigan. Devitt would take the victory over Cyclope and would continue to pull off impressive victories. A win over Ryusuke Taguchi from NJPW and Matt Sydal in late May put people on notice. In June, Devitt earned a spot in the 4 corners match for the X-Divsion title, but came up short when Bobby Fish won the match. Devitt continued to impress with a series of 30 minute time limit draws against Low-Ki, but the momentum came to an end in August, when Alex Shelley attacked Devitt’s leg and put him out of action. In the fall, Devitt would face off in a series of matches with Shelley, culminating with an Ultimate X match at A Night to Remember to capture the X-Division title. He has already had two successful title defenses and heads into 2004 as the X-Division champion. Best surprise of 2003 Winner: Can Am Express return. Win Real World Tag League 2003Can-Am Express returned to the USWA on the Mid South Coliseum show - A countdown to remember. They came back with a plan to prove they are the best team to ever set foot in the USWA. They defeated Americas Most Wanted in a “dream tag team match” at A Night to Remember, and then were one of the first teams to claim entrance into the Real World Tag League. They had an excellent showing and defeated Jun Akiyama and Kawada in the finals of the tournament. The Can Am Express now sit as the winners of the RWTL and are guaranteed a title shot against Tequila Effect in the first quarter of 2004. Best Major Show 2003 Winner: Louisville Gardens 11.27.2003 After a long period away from Lousivlle, the USWA came back with a show which featured two 5 star matches back to back. Prince Devitt defeated Juventud Guerrera as he prepared for his X-Division match with Alex Shelley at a Night to Remember. That was followed up by a six man tag match, which featured Perry Saturn, Vampiro and Brian Christopher taking on The Corino Family of Punk, Anderson and Daniels. The show was to prepare for A Night to Remember, but the return to Lousivlle, and the action inside the ring made it a can’t miss event! Feud of the Year Winner: Jun Akiyama vs Ahmed JohnsonAkiyama and Johnson went back and forth for the Global title and number one contender chances multiple times this year. Akiyama was the first ever G1 Climax tournament winner and was the first to pin Ahmed Johnson in the USWA. Johnson defeated Akiyama in Puerto Rico to become the first ever Unified Heavyweight Champion, and retained the title in the steel cage rematch at A Night to Remember. Match of the Year Winner: Ahmed Johnson vs Jun Akiyama for Triple crown in Cayey, PRThe biggest match in historical sense of 2003 would be the Triple Crown unification bout. The match lived up to all expectations when Ahmed Johnson fought past multiple blue thunder bomb finishers of Akyama and multiple submission holds to capture the crown. Tag Team of the Year Winner: The Island BoysA first year team came out and took on all comers in 2003. OG Ekmo and Kimo made their USWA Debut on February 24th in Dallas with a victory over Brickhouse Brown and Reggie B. Fine. They spent the spring racking up victories and winning their first feud with The New Bolsheviks. They went on to defeat Americas Most Wanted in a cage match in Chicago to earn a tag team title shot in August at the Global Warfare PPV. The Island Boys took that opportunity to win their first ever USWA Tag Team Titles. They would also defeat The Can-Am Express in their first match back in the USWA to retain the tag titles at the Mid South Coliseum. A loss to Raven and Konnan at A Night to Remember, and a misstep in the Real World Tag League with a loss to Lover and Bucanero ended an unimpressive fourth quarter of 2003, but the future looks bright in 2004 for The Island Boys! Wrestler of the Year Winner: Ahmed Johnson It’s safe to say Ahmed Johnson made a name for himself and legitimized his comeback to the sport of professional wrestling in 2003. He started the year off in the middle of a winning streak. The winning streak made people take notice of Johnson and offered up an opportunity at the Global title. At Superbrawl Showdown, Jun Akiyama pinned Ahmed becoming the first man in the company to accomplish that task. A rematch was signed in April to name a number one contender to the Global Title and Ahmed took the victory. He would go on to win the Global title from Chris Benoit in Atlanta to earn his first title in the USWA. Ahmed Johnsons title reign was cut short when he suffered an injury at the hands of Konnan back in May. Taz was assigned as the special guest referee, and Johnson says his “lack luster officiating” was to blame for the injury. Around the summer Ahmed would accuse Taz of dodging him to put together a unification match. Johnson also told Bill Dundee that he felt he had an agenda against him for not putting together the match. In June Johnson would defeat Chad Collyer, a Taz protege, and earn the #1 contender spot to the Heavyweight title. The match between Taz and Johnson was finally signed to be the MAIN EVENT of the Global Warfare PPV. Taz would get the victory by DQ, but would be seriously injured in the match. Taz blames his injury on Ahmed Johnson and was forced to be stripped of the Heavyweight title. We now had two men who were never pinned for their titles. Johnson continued to rack up victories in the fall and would win his second Global title defeating Jun Akiyama at the Mid South Coliseum. With Taz out of action, Bill Dundee scheduled the title unification match to take place on the final night of the fall Puerto Rican Invasion tour. Johnson would go on to defeat Jun Akiyama and be the first ever Triple Crown Champion. In November Johnson defended the title several times over Perry Saturn, who returned to the USWA to defend the honor of his best friend Taz. Johnson also defeated his rival Jun Akiyama in a steel cage at A Night to Remember to retain the title, which also marked the return of Taz to the USWA. At Christmas Chaos, Johnson finished up 2003 with his first ever victory over Taz in a no countout no DQ matchup. Johnson now looks toward 2004 and a new challenger has risen to the top of the USWA in Christopher Daniels. Will Daniels be the man to bring the USWA title

USWA Championship TV January 3rd, 2004 Host: Lance Russell
Bill Dundee names #1 contender to the Unified Title.
(The camera shows the office of USWA President Bill Dundee. Dundee is at his desk and prepares to read a statement.)
Dundee thanks the fans for tuning into USWA Championship Wrestling, and wishes them a happy new year.
Dundee says that as we head into a new year, we close the book on 2003. The past is in the past. The epic battles of Jun Akiyama and Ahmed Johnson, and Taz are in the past, and we look forward to new battles that will form the USWA in 2004.
After much consideration, Dundee says he has made the decision on the next contender to the USWA title, and it will be given to Christopher Daniels of The Corino Family. Dundee says that Daniels has the resume behind him to earn that title shot, and the fans of the USWA will be excited to see a fresh face attempt to win that USWA title.
Dundee says he spoke to Ahmed Johnson after Christmas Chaos and it was apparent that he wanted to face Daniels. If he had to put the title on the line to get him in the ring, he was willing to do just that.
Dundee says that match will headline our first Mid South Coliseum show of 2004 titled "Angels Wings" next weekend, January 10th along with plenty of other great matchups that will be announced later on in the show.
Dundee says that he hopes to see all the USWA fans at the Mid South Coliseum next weekend!
Backstage Comments Taz comments on Christmas Chaos and Sabu.
(Taz talks into the camera from the locker room area.)
With a smirk on his face and a sarcastic laugh, Taz says he finds it humorous that Bill Dundee thinks he can just "turn the page" on all of the history that has taken place in the past year.
The injuries, the in ring wars with the titles on the line, the blood, the sweat, and the tears. "Just turn the page because it's 2004!" ha..
Taz wishes Christopher Daniels good luck next week on capturing that USWA title, but as god is his witness, Taz will get another shot at the gold very soon.
Taz then shifts over to Sabu. Former tag team partner, former bitter rival. Taz says if we are "turning the page on 2003, we need to flip back a few chapters" in order to review the history he has with Sabu.
Taz says that he came to the USWA to prove he was one of the best wrestlers in the world, and Sabu was here for a short time, but in the end, Sabu hit the road. He went back to Japan, took a few high paying one off gigs, and even tried to make it back in the WWE, hows that going for ya Sabu?
Now Sabu is back, trying to ignite a spark on his career, and he feels that getting in my business once again is going to do it? Although it pains Taz to admit that Sabu got under his skin, the truth is he did. He came back here, did everything in his power to keep Taz away from the Unified title, and that's where we are today.
Taz says that Dundee wants to put this match on PPV. So at New Years Revolution 2004, it will be Taz and Sabu one on one, just like old times. Until then, it sounds like both men will be under the same roof next weekend at the Mid South Coliseum, so their is no telling what will happen!
Backstage Comments Christopher Daniels and Corino talk about the title shot.
(Dave Brown talks with Corino and Daniels about Bill Dundees decision.)
Dave Brown tells Corino that he has to be excited to get another opportunity to bring home the Unified Title to the Corino Family, next weekend at the Mid South Coliseum!
Corino says that with the family being guided by The Fallen Angel, 2004 is going to be a big year for anyone who puts pen to paper and joins the Corino Family!
Christopher Daniels says that it's only appropriate that this show is being billed as "Angels Wings" because the Fallen Angel is going to soar higher than any of the guys that joined the Corino Family last year! Sure the X-Division title was a great "get" for the family, but nothing says champion like having the Unified titles around your waist. 2004 is the year that Christopher Daniels takes the next step in the professional wrestling industry, this is the year that Bill Dundee stops praying to the wrestling gods that his old men like Ahmed Johnson and Taz don't get injured, and he starts looking at the next face in professional wrestling!
On January 10th at the Mid South Coliseum, Christopher Daniels will become the next Unified Heavyweight champion!
Lance Russell opens the show.
Lance Russell welcomes the USWA fans to another weekend of USWA action and wishes everyone a happy new year.
The fallout of Christmas Chaos is still having an effect all over the territory, and as you heard at the top of the hour, Christopher Daniels will receive the next shot at Ahmed Johnson's Unified Title! That match and more will take place next weekend at the Mid South Coliseum. All the action will be documented and we will have it for you on USWA Championship TV in the coming weeks.
January is going to be a huge month for the USWA. Not only will we present "Angels Wings" the first of our monthly Mid South Coliseum shows, but we will be back to celebrate our 3 year X-Division anniversary, with a 1 night 16 man tournament. The winner will receive the X-Division title shot at the New Years Revolution PPV. X-Division champion Prince Devitt has announced he will participate in the tournament under the same rules as Tequila Effect did in the Real World Tag League. If he wins the tournament, he can choose his own opponent on the PPV. Last year we had a vacated title, and the tournament served to crown a new champion. Steve Bradley came away with the victory over Sean Waltman and continued the momentum of that win into the early months of 2003.
Today on the program we will continue to recap the Real World Tag League, we have all the important matches that took place in Johnson City, TN. Along with our MAIN EVENT, which will be the Block A decision match that took place in Nashville, TN.
Right now lets take you to those highlights of the tournament from Johnson City!

USWA Presents.... Angels Wings January 10th, 2004 Mid South Coliseum
The Corino Family makes their way to the ring.
Steve Corino leads his entire stable of wrestlers to the middle of the ring to a chorus of boos. Christopher Daniels, Bobby Fish, Karl Anderson, CM Punk, and Brian Lee all head to the ring.
Corino takes the mic and tells the fans of the Coliseum HAPPY NEW YEAR! Steve says that 2003 was the birth of a great thing when he decided to create the family, but in 2004, the most efficient group of professional wrestlers will be taking over every championship that is available!
Daniels takes the mic and says that tonight, the first step in the process takes place when they grab the biggest piece of hardware in the promotion. Daniels calls himself the saving grace of the family, and that he is the only man that could win the gold for Corino.
Daniels said that the tag titles and the X-Division title were a great start, but Corino knew he needed to invest in top tier talent if he wanted to bring home the grand daddy of em all, the USWA Unified Title. Daniels says tonight, he will do what Karl and Bobby and CM Punk couldn't do, he's going to win the gold!
Corino calls out Bobby Fish and tells him since Frank Morell is no longer a valid excuse for losing, he will be put in action against Taz, and nothing short of a win will be acceptable! If Bobby Fish loses tonight, their will be consequences!
Corino says that tonight starts a new era in the Corino Family, and the group walk back to the locker room.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match Dean Malenko and Bull Buchanan defeated Rey Bucanero and Latin Lover when Bull Buchanan pinned L. Lover with the Top-Rope Legdrop in 0:32:14. Rating: ***** [Joey Matthews interfered against Bull Buchanan.] [LA Smooth interfered against Latin Lover.] (D'Lo Brown no-showed.)
D'Lo Brown didn't make it to the arena tonight. Knowing Buchanan needed a partner, Dean Malenko stepped in and asked to join him, because he wouldn't mind getting his hands on Rey Bucanero once again. The match was a wild one, with The Bad Street Boys getting involved and interfering against Buchanan and Malenko. Also, an unidentified big man made his way down and just beat the living crap out of The Latin Lover at ringside. Lover was in no condition to continue as the man threw him back to the ring and Buchanan hit the top rope leg drop for the victory. An amazing show stealing opening match to start off tonight.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match Taz made Bobby Fish submit to the Tazmission in 0:17:36. Rating: ****
Bobby Fish falls victim to the Tazmission, and that can't be good for his future with the Corino Family. After the match out came a blast from the past in Bill Alfonzo! Alfonzo went to shake Taz hand, but Taz was hesitant. Sabu then came running from the back and attacked Taz! Vampiro ran out to fend off Sabu, which led right into our next match.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match Sabu pinned Vampiro with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:13:28. Rating: **** 1/4
Sabu picked up another victory tonight, defeating Vampiro with the Triple Jump Moonsault. After the match Bill Alfonzo took the mic and said that he is here in the USWA because he is the only man that can control Sabu! Alfonzo told Taz he should watch his back at all times, because their paths are on a collision course at New Years Revolution.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match Petey Williams pinned La Mascara with the Canadian Destroyer in 0:10:21. Rating: ** 3/4
Petey Williams takes a victory over La Mascara, keeping him in the mix for an X-Division title match. Williams and La Mascara will both participate in the X-Division tournament next week here at the coliseum.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match The Samoan Gangsta Party (Ekmo Fatu and Kimo) defeated Toshiaki Kawada and Jun Akiyama when Kimo pinned Kawada after a moonsault in 0:17:56. Rating: ***** [LA Smooth interfered against Jun Akiyama.]
A high profile tag match between the two runners up from the Real World Tag League saw a new side of "The Island Boys". The big man that interfered in the earlier tag match between Malenko/Buchanan vs Bucanero/Lover made his way to the ring in this match and stood ringside with Ekmo and Kimo. The man threw multiple foreign objects into the ring for Kimo and Ekmo to use, but Akiyama was able to intercept them. The finsh came when Kimo, who interfered in the Main Event last night in Jonesboro with a moonsault onto Kawada, hit the same maneuver tonight, giving The Island Boys a huge victory to start off 2004.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match The Tequila Effect (Raven and Konnan) defeated The Can-Am Express (Dan Kroffat and Doug Furnas) when Konnan made Furnas submit to an abdominal stretch in 0:09:27. Rating: *** 3/4 (The Tequila Effect retained the Tag Team Title.)
The Real World Tag League Champions cashed in their title shot tonight against Raven and Konnan and were unable to finish the job. It was a wild match, but Konnan was able to make Furnas tap out for their title defense. After the match Furnas said that it might be the last time the Can Am Express step into the ring, but knowing how far they had come in the past few months, if Tequila Effect would give them one more shot, they think they could win those belts. At that point The Island Boys came out and talked about their big victory tonight and that they should be the next to receive a title shot.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match Ahmed Johnson pinned Christopher Daniels with the Pearl River Plunge in 0:21:47. Rating: **** 1/2 (Ahmed Johnson retained the Heavyweight Title.) (Ahmed Johnson retained the Global Title.) (Ahmed Johnson retained the Southern Title.) [Steve Corino interfered against Ahmed Johnson.]
Corino did anything he could in a desperate attempt to get the title around Daniels waist, but in the end, the power of Ahmed Johnson was too much for the challenger. Daniels tied Johnson up in a plethora of submission maneuvers, but Johnson wouldn't quit. After the match Brian Lee ran to the ring to help a fallen Daniels, but found himself in a brief stare down with the champion to end the show.
Backstage Notes:
The first big event of the 2004 season kicked off with Ahmed Johnson's 4th defense of the Unified Title. It was a success with a victory over Christopher Daniels, the new "face" of the Corino Family. With a victory over Daniels, speculation is running wild on who might be the next in line for the title shot.
Two new faces showed up at the Mid South Coliseum tonight, a big man of samoan decent, who seems to have a connection with the former tag champions, the Island Boys, and former referee and manager Bill Alfonzo showed up in the face of Taz, and stated he was hear to be the voice of the silent assassin Sabu!
The Island Boys, who showed a much more violent style to their tag team game tonight, took a HUGE victory over Akiyama and Kawada, with help from this newcomer and even got in the face of the champions demanding to be the next in line for the tag titles.
We saw some friction in our opening match between Bull Buchanan and The Bad Street Boys. We hope to get to the bottom of that in the coming weeks.

Looking for a little feedback on the circuit. I'm going to post a few shows I've ran and haven't posted later tonight. Kinda want to get a vibe of what you guys think of the current direction since the beginning of 2004.

I'm a bit backed up (on a lot of circuits actually) but I like your write-ups. Your circuit has an early 90's All Japan/ECW vibe to it. With the tournaments, wrestlers have more than just titles to fight for.
I'd also like to know what the secret is of getting such highly rated matches from the likes of Konnan, Vampiro, and Ahmed Johnson among others. Raven has always gotten high ratings for me so I'm assuming that's where Konnan gets it from, but everyone else?

Well if you book finishes and titles are on the line, I think that makes a big difference. A lot of my matches are no dq no countout so I think that also helps.
The Triple crown unification match between Akiyama and Johnson was obviously carried by Akiyama who has a stellar work rate. I also booked them both to kick out of each others finishers multiple times, and had 3 titles on the line.
That's the only other 5 star match I can say I knew would probably happen when I booked it. Other than that most of my 5 stars come from guys that are technical wrestlers, lots of dives and are workers.
Akiyama, Devitt, Alex Shelley, Daniels....these guys are always having amazing matches.

The Corino Family Interview from Angels Wings.
Steve says that 2003 was the birth of a great thing when he decided to create the family, but in 2004, the most efficient group of professional wrestlers will be taking over ever championship that is available!
Daniels takes the mic and says that tonight, the first step in the process takes place when they grab the biggest piece of hardware in the promotion. Daneils calls himself the saving grace of the family, and that he is the only man that could win the gold for Corino.
Johnson/Daniels Still Photos: Lance Russell goes through the big match.
Lance Russell shows the fans still photos of the main event from Angels Wings. Ahmed Johnson retained his title after refusing to submit from Daniels multiple submission maneuvers. A brief stare down with Brian Lee was also shown in the recap.
MATCH 1:Dean Malenko and Bull Buchanan defeated Rey Bucanero and Latin Lover when Bull Buchanan pinned L. Lover with the Top-Rope Legdrop in 0:32:14. Rating: ***** [Joey Matthews interfered against Bull Buchanan.] [LA Smooth interfered against Latin Lover.] (D'Lo Brown no-showed.)
LA Smooth and The Island Boys interview.
The newest USWA superstar, L.A. Smooth runs into his "friends" The Island Boys backstage. Smooth calls them "cousins" and it's revealed to the fans that this guy is the cousin of OG Ekmo and Kimo, the Island Boys.
Smooth tells his cousins that he came to the USWA to help his family remember where they came from. He calls out Ekmo for not using his real name Ekmo Fatu, and then asks if they saw the beat down he gave to Latin Lover at the Arena. Smooth says he had it coming after him and Bucanero costs them the Real World Tag League.
Kimo tells Smooth that they did win fair and square, but Smooth wasn't hearing that. He firmly tells his cousins that they are Samoan Gangstas, and it's about time they started acting that way.
Smooth leaves his cousins as Ekmo and Kimo just stare at each other in disbelief.
Promo from Daniels and Brian Lee
Christopher Daniels asks Brian Lee if he saw the look on the face of Ahmed when he stepped in the way? Lee confirms, arrogantly stating that the champion looked like he was going to sh*t his pants.
Daniels says that he has to give Ahmed a little credit. He pulled out submission maneuvers from Japan, from Mexico, he broke out moves he has only seen on you tube in order to get the champion to tap out, but he wouldn't do it. Daniels admits he got caught with the pearl river plunge, but this fight is far from over!
Daniels takes out a picture of a HELL IN A CELL match. Daniels asks Johnson if he has ever been in a Hell in the Cell Match in his life? Daniels says "neither have I", but this is a match that Bill Dundee has been trying to put in front of the USWA fans for a year now. Bill said it would be a championship match, but he needed to find a challenger willing to put themselves through HELL in order to win the title. I told Dundee to sign me up for a rematch, and I would be the one who puts the Hell in a Cell match on the MAP for this promotion!
Daniels said that Corino has already negotiated the rematch with Johnson as the MAIN EVENT of New Years Revolution! Daniels said that the first time around, Johnson didn't take him seriously, but Daniels reiterated that it's a new year, and Johnson is going to realize just how serious the Corino Family can get!
Brian Lee tells Ahmed Johnson to prepare for the pain!

Ahmed Johnson just heard the announcement of the Hell in a Cell match at New Years Revolution. Johnson has the news confirmed by USWA Officials and then says that he will be ready.
Johnson said that the answer is no, no he has never been in a Hell in a Cell match, but he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty one more time with Daniels.
Ahmed tells the fans that as long as he has these three titles draped around him, he will take on anyone that feels they can take these titles away from him.
Match 2: The Tequila Effect (Raven and Konnan) defeated The Can-Am Express (Dan Kroffat and Doug Furnas) when Konnan made Furnas submit to an abdominal stretch in 0:09:27. Rating: *** 3/4 (The Tequila Effect retained the Tag Team Title.)
Promo: Can Am Express throw down a challenge.
Dan Kroffat and Doug Furnas sit backstage depressed about losing the USWA title match with Raven and Konnan. Doug Furnas talks about the sacrafices that both he and Kroffat have made. The comeback they have attempted in order to fight for one last moment in the sun in the USWA. Doug said that he hasn't told anyone yet, but he is close to calling it a career in the sport of professional wrestling, but winning back those USWA titles has burned deep inside of him ever since they returned.
Furnas said that Bill Dundee has not only asked the Unified title to be put on the line in a Hell in a Cell match, but the only way the Can Am Express would be able to get another shot at the gold from Tequila Effect would be to face Raven and Konnan in a Hell in a Cell match at New Years Revolution. This time, it's titles vs career!

X-Division 3 Year Anniversary Recap:
An amazing night was capped off at the Mid South Coliseum as CM Punk won the one night 16 man tournament defeating current USWA X-Division champion Prince Devitt. CM Punk will now go into next weekends New Years Revolution PPV as the challenger for Prince Devitts X-Division title.
Bill Dundee took applications from wrestlers all over the world to head to Memphis, TN and take part in this one night tournament. The third annual event has really started to make a name for itself in the wrestling community. Dundee spoke with different TV and sports magazine reporters to explain that some talent on the show would be young freelance wrestlers from across the country, mixed with a few names from Mexico that were recommended from Konnan to participate in the action.
* X-Division Champion Devitt made it past the first round with a victory over the youngster Kid Romeo. Devitt looked impressive as always in grabbing the first round victory.
* Alex Kozlov continues to improve in the division. A win over Matt Cross in round 1 drove the point home to our fans in attendance.
* Chavo Guerrero Jr. made his USWA debut and the fans erupted at the mention of his name. Guerrero was able to pick up a first round victory over Rey Bucanero to advance.
* Averno, a top talent in Lucha Libre promotions picked up a victory over La Mascara in round 1. According to Konnan and Latin Lover, these two luchadores have been bitter rivals down south.
* The Canadian Destroyer kept himself in the mix with a victory over Donovan Morgan. Morgan flew in from a Japan tour and really impressed some USWA officials with his gritty performance.
* CM Punk was paired up with a name from his past, B.J. Whitmer. Whitmer and Punk have a past that comes from the early days of their career. CM Punk applauded Dundee for finding Whitmer for his first round opponent, but claimed nobody was going to beat him tonight!
* Alex Shelley matched up with young blood Jay Lethal and made it to the round of 8. Lethal was another name that captured the interest of USWA officials.
* Bryan Danielson, known as The American Dragon, made his first round match one to remember. A victory over former USWA wrestler and luchadore Damian 666.
In the elite 8 matches *Devitt would beat Alex Kozlov, ending his night premature. *Chavo Guerrero continued the winning streak with a win over Averno. *CM Punk defeated Petey Williams in what some are calling the match of the tournament. Williams continues to prove he is an X-Division contender to take seriously. * Bryan Danielson with the upset of the night over Alex Shelley. Danielson caught Shelley with the Half Boston and he was unable to escape the move.
Semi Finals Round: * Devitt defeated Chavo Guerrero to advance to the finals of the tournament. If Devitt wins the entire tournament, he would be able to choose who he defends the title against at New Years Revolution.
*CM Punk defeated Bryan Danielson in another amazing matchup. Fans gave Danielson a standing ovation after the match and chanted "please come back" as he walked back to the locker room.
Finals: In the finals, CM Punk defeated Prince Devitt with his Anaconda Vice finisher! It was a shocking result, as everyone in the arena thought Devitt has the tournament on. It was interference from Corino that continued to slow Devitts momentum in the match. In the end Punk hit a vicious double underhook backbreaker to set up the Anaconda Vice for the submission victory.
Punk said that tonight was his night to get noticed, but next week at the PPV, he will once again hold that X-Division title!

USWA Championship TV January 24th, 2004 Host: Corey MaclinCorey Maclin opens the show with words from Taz and Bobby Fish.Corey Maclin opens todays show talking about our big main event! Taz will step in the ring with Bobby Fish. Bobby is on his last leg with the Corino family, and has been told by Steve Corino that tonights match is a must win! Corey says that Dave Brown had a chance to get comments from both men before tonights big showdown! (footage of Dave Brown talking to Taz.) Dave asks Taz about his thoughts going into tonight's big match up with Fish. Taz says that Bobby has made his name here in the USWA and his X-Division run was impressive, but he is about to step in the ring with a one man crime spree. Taz says that Bobby Fish and the group of thugs in the Corino family are the ones that put his friend and wrestling student Chad Collyer on the shelf a few months ago, and for those sins, the entire family will pay a heavy price. Tonight Bobby Fish is first in line. We then transition to Dave Browns comments with Bobby Fish. Bobby tells Dave Brown that his goal is to get that USWA Unified title shot in 2004, but in order to do that he needs to get back to his winning ways. With Frank Morell out of the picture, Fish has no excuses. He says that stepping in the ring with former Heavyweight Champion is a big test for him, he knows deep down, this is a match he can win. Fish tells Taz he is a broken down man with a bad neck. Every match he has from here until the end of his career is going to be full of aches and pains. It's only a matter of time until the path of rage comes to an end. Corey recaps the X-Division 3 year anniversary from last weekend.Maclin tells the fans that if they didn't make it out to the Mid South Coliseum last weekend, they missed a huge night of action, and some major developments in the USWA. CM Punk defeated the current X-Division champion Prince Devitt in the finals to earn an X-Division title match tomorrow night at New Years Revolution. It was a big victory for CM Punk and the Corino family. We take you to comments from both Devitt and CM Punk following last Saturdays tournament. (Video of Prince Devitt in the locker room.) Devitt has the title around his shoulder as he talks about the importance of retaining the title at New Years Revolution. Devitt says that CM Punk gave him his strongest competition since becoming champion, and that the loss in the tournament proved that the USWA is home to the best Jr. Heavyweights in the United States. Devitt says that the tournament was full of wrestlers from all around the world. Ireland, Japan, Mexico and the United States, and it came down to Devitt and Punk. The best two that the division has to offer. Devitt says he would be lying if he said he wasn't a bit concerned about putting the gold on the line at New Years Revolution, but a fighting champion never backs down from a challenge. Devitt tells Punk he earned the title shot, and he will see him in the ring at New Years Revolution. (Cut to comments from CM Punk post tournament.) CM Punk says that tonight was the night that he rejuvenated his USWA career. For the past several years he has been walking the company line, doing whatever was asked of him, as management fired his best friend. As management never gave him the opportunity to challenge for a title that he never lost in the ring. Punk says that he's now aligned with Steve Corino and all that has changed. Punk says that his victory in the tournament has him on the doorstep to realizing his dream of one day winning back that X-Division title. He hopes to be back in the USWA in the future, and tells Prince Devitt to be prepared for CM Punk, because he is one of the best in the world. Konnan is in the office of Bill Dundee asking about Tito Santana.
We walk in on Konnan talking to Bill Dundee about this Tito Santana rumor. Bill doesn't seem to have much information and explains that he is coming as a guest of Jerry Lawler. Dundee explains to Konnan how Lawler is the majority owner in the promotion and can do whatever he wants. Konnan tells Dundee he has been hearing things about Tito Santana looking for a full time job, and wants to confirm that the USWA isn't going to be the company that gives him a shot. Dundee is puzzled by the questioning of Konnan, and tells Konnan that he doesn't know anything about why Tito is going to be at New Years Revolution, and if he was Konnan he would focus on his tag team title match vs Can Am Express inside the HELL IN A CELL! The Can Am Express talk about their final chance to win the tag team titles. The stakes are high as they had to accept a match inside Hell in a Cell. Doug Furnas says that Konnan and Raven will be leaving the cell without the titles! Bill Alfonzo is with Sabu and tells Sabu that tomorrow night the end of a career will take place. Sabu is going to do everything he can to break the neck of Taz for the 4th time, and the end of their storied rivaly will happen at New Years Revolution! Raven and Konnan talk about their next title defense inside the Hell in a Cell. Raven says that he is used to pain, Raven reminds Can Am Express that Konnan and Raven were contenders for the heavyweight title at this time last year. They waited almost an entire year to finally put gold around their waist. Although it's a sad ending to an accomplished career. The Can Am Express won't leave the cell with the tag titles tomorrow night. Konnan tells Doug and Phil he has been in more cage matches than he cares to remember. When he sees the blood, the pain, and the violence of the cell, it only motivates Tequila Effect to take the punishment to the next level. That is exactly what is going to happen on PPV! Christopher Daniels says that tomorrow night, Ahmed Johnson is going to step into Hell in a Cell with the most motivated challenger he has ever seen. Daniels said that in their first match he learned a lot of lessons on how to defeat a muscle head with a lack of wrestling talent. Daniels reminds Johnson that he is the fallen angel, led to the Corino family by fate, with the responsibility to be the savior of the group. Tomorrow night, he does exactly what he's paid to do, win the Unified Title and bring it home to the Corino family! and finally.... Ahmed Johnson has words for Christopher Daniels. Johnson says that his reign as champion won't be cut short from a kid who thinks he can play with the big boys. Johnson says he has put everything he has into his return to the top of professional wrestling. His match inside the cell is going to end violently, but will have the same outcome as their first meeting. A win for Johnson, and another title defense in the record books. Johnson says that Daniels can put him in any submission move he can think of. He can flip around the ring like a circus act, but in the end, he's going to get caught with a pearl river plunge, and that will be the end of his title opportunities.

USWA Presents New Years Revolution 2004 PPV Township Auditorium Columbia, South Carolina January 25th, 2004
New Years Revolution PPV introduction.
The indoor pyro goes off as fans inside the Township Auditorium are going nuts!
The camera pans to the announcers table in the back of the auditorium where Lance Russell, Dave Brown, and Corey Maclin welcome all the fans to USWA's New Years Revolution 2004!
Lance tells the fans they we will have X-Division action, tag team action, six man tag action, and as he points to the top of the roof of the auditorium where the hell in a cell is located, Lance warns the viewers that a night of violence and carnage looms ahead.
Dave Brown says it will be the first time in the history of the USWA that we hold matches inside a Hell in a Cell, and both the Tag Team titles, and the Unified Heavyweight Championship will be on the line!
Corey Maclin says that the USWA is so glad the fans could join us tonight so sit back and strap in for what could be the biggest night in the history of the USWA!
Lance shows footage of Tito Santana and Jerry Lawler heading into the Township Auditorium earlier today. He says that we will hear from Tito Santana later tonight on what exactly he is doing with Jerry Lawler and what are his plans here in the USWA?
Corey says that the USWA has had many wrestling legends on PPV's in the past. Terry Funk and Ted DiBiase just to name a few, but the mysterious arrival of Tito Santana has everyone in the USWA wondering what's going on. Hopefully we will know more tonight!
Lance Russell says that we don't want to waist anymore time, lets get to the ring and kick things off with the X-Division title on the line!
No-Countout-No-DQ-Match: CM Punk pinned Prince Devitt after the Shining Wizard in 0:11:06. Rating: *** (CM Punk won the X-Division Title.) [Steve Corino interfered against Prince Devitt.]
A new champion crowned, and a title back in the hands of the Corino Family. CM Punk wasn't able to slip on his Anaconda Vice finisher, but did end up nearly decapitating the former champion with back to back shining wizard kicks to the head. Punk gets the victory and becomes a two time X-Division champion.
Video Recap of Taz vs Sabu.
A video highlights Taz and his rise to fame in the USWA as the longest reigning heavyweight champion, along with his injury at the hands of Ahmed Johnson at Global Warfare 2003. After months on the shelf with a broken neck, Taz returned for a title shot at Christmas Chaos. The night was ruined when Sabu made his return to the USWA on a mission to eliminate the Human Suplex Machine.
It was just a few weeks ago at the Mid South Coliseum after Taz defeated Bobby Fish, that Bill Alfonzo showed up to attempt to shake the hand of Taz. It was all a setup as Alfonzo eventually revealed his purpose to be the manager of Sabu, and help make sure that Taz wrestling career will soon come to an end.
Tonight, for the first time in over three years, Sabu and Taz meet one on one in the ring!
Taz pinned Sabu after a vertical suplex into a reverse neckbreaker in 0:13:55. Rating: *** 1/2
Taz picks up the victory over Sabu, continuing to prove he is still in the mix for another Unified Title match, but it was the post match attack by Sabu that left Taz leaving the arena with help from the back. After Taz picked up the victory over Sabu, Bill Alfonzo looked like he was going to be put into the Tazmission in the middle of the ring, but Sabu came to and attacked Taz from behind with a chair. Sabu eventually laid Taz out on a table and executed a suicide dive, sending Taz through the table at ringside. Sabu attempted to put the camel clutch on a fallen Taz, but USWA officials ran to the ringside to break it up before and major damage could be done to Taz.
Backstage Can Am Express interview.
Lance Wright is with the two men who will challenge for the USWA Tag Team Titles Doug Furnas and Dan Kroffat. Lance asks the guys if they think this might be their last match in the USWA?
Doug Furnas says that until he and Dan stepped into the Auditorium and saw the construction of the cell, he didn't think either realized exactly what type of match they had gotten themselves into. Furnas says that tonight has the possibility of being a career defining match for the Can AM Express.
Dan Kroffat says that for over 15 years he has been teaming with Doug Furnas, and he can't remember a match that they were as anxious, maybe a little nervous about stepping into the ring to wrestle in. Lafon says that the term wrestling can be thrown out the window tonight. The match is going to be a game of survival, and only the biggest dogs in the yard will walk out of Columbia South Carolina with the USWA Tag Team Titles!
Lance Wright throws it to the ring for tag team action!
Brown And Buchanan (D'Lo Brown and Bull Buchanan) defeated The Bad Street Boys (Christian York and Joey Matthews) when D'Lo made J. Matthews submit to an abdominal stretch in 0:07:18. Rating: ** 3/4 [Daizee Haze interfered against D'Lo Brown.] [Daizee Haze interfered against Bull Buchanan.]
Brown and Buchanan have been on a roll in their last few matches in the USWA. Tonight's victory over The Bad Street Boys puts them in the title picture. D-Lo and Buchanan didn't have much time to celebrate as Americas Most Wanted made their way to the entrance ramp throwing out a challenge to D-Lo and Buchanan to a future match.
Promo for Canadian Stampede Tour.
The USWA hits the road and heads north of the border as we start the Canadian Stampede Tour!
Friday night 2.20.04 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada Saturday Night 2.21.04 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sunday Night 2.22.04 Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Three big nights of action with all the USWA superstars on hand! You won't want to miss it live! Tickets go on sale tomorrow afternoon!
CM Punk talks about being the new X-Division champion.
Lance Wright is backstage with new X-Division champion CM Punk and manager Steve Corino.
Corino is ready to pop the campaign, but CM Punk says that the family business isn't over just yet. Christopher Daniels still has some work to do.
CM Punk says that tonight's victory was over a year and a half in the making. July of 2001 he was forced to vacate the title because of rules that don't even exist anymore. He was never given a real opportunity to win back the title, and the two chances that the USWA did give him were pathetic last minute replacement, "throw the kid a bone" matches.
Those days are gone. You're now looking at a two time USWA X-Division champion, a belt held by a guy who has been here from day one. A guy who has payed more dues than anyone in this locker room. You're looking at a guy who's going to go down in history as the best champion the division has ever seen! Punk says he knows that Devitt will get the automatic rematch, but tonight, tonight is a night for the Corino Family to celebrate the return of the X-Division title.
Lance throws it back to the ring for six man tag action!
The Samoan Gangsta Party (Ekmo Fatu, Kimo and LA Smooth) defeated Latin Lover, Rey Bucanero and Damian 666 when Smooth pinned Bucanero with the Samoan Drop in 0:09:12. Rating: ***
Damian 666 returns to the USWA as the mystery partner for Lover and Bucanero, but even with Damien in their corner and Lucha Libre rules, it was the Samoan Gangsta Party walking out of the Township Auditorium with the victory. L.A. Smooth looked impressive in his in ring debut. Smooth picked up the pinfall victory over Rey Bucanero with the Samoan Drop. Ekmo came to the ring and announced that from now on he will be known as his real name, Ekmo Fatu! Ekmo and Kimo have definitely gone back to their Samoan roots since the arrival of L.A. Smooth.
Ahmed Johnson makes his way to the arena.
Video shows Ahmed Johnson making his way to the arena as the crowd goes nuts for the USWA Unified Champion. Lance Russell voices over the footage hyping up tonight's main event!
The Tequila Effect defeated The Can-Am Express in a Hell In A Cell when Raven made Kroffat submit to a single-leg Boston Crab in 0:32:05. Rating: ** Konnan suffered a dislocated left shoulder. He will be out for approximately 1 card. Dan Kroffat tore his left bicep. He will be out for approximately 6 cards. (The Tequila Effect (Raven/Konnan) retained the Tag Team Title.)
A bloody battle ends with the demise of the Can Am Express. Furnas and Kroffat were unable to win the USWA Tag Team Titles, and as the contract states, they must leave the USWA. Dan Kroffat may not be wrestling for quite some time anyway, as we learned of a torn left bicep during the match. Konnan also suffered a dislocated shoulder as the battle scars were visible all over the ring. Konnan showed an side to him which we haven't seen in the USWA. He was very aggressive to the point that even Raven had to pull him off of Doug Furnas during the match. The Tequila Effect defend the titles inside the Hell in a Cell!
Prematch comments from Christopher Daniels.
Lance Wright is with Christopher Daniels and shares with him his concern for anyone else stepping into the Hell in a Cell tonight. Wright tells Daniels about Konnans dislocated shoulder, and Kroffats torn bicep.
Daniels says that it's a little too late to go back now! Daniels says that he is ready to do whatever it takes to become the Triple Crown Champion of the USWA. The winning streak continues tonight for the Corino Family!
Daniels tells Ahmed Johnson he hopes that he watched the tag title match, because the damage done in that match is just a small sample of what he is in for tonight! Daniels says that it's time for the next generation of wrestlers to step up to the plate and put their names in the record books. Tonight is the night that Christopher Daniels becomes a household name!
Lance kicks it back to the ringside area where Dave Brown is about to introduce Tito Santana!
Tito Santana is introduced to the USWA crowd.
Dave Brown introduces the two time WWF Intercontinental champion and Two Time WWF Tag Team Champion, The El Matador Tito Santana!
Tito comes out from the curtain to a loud ovation from the crowd! Behind him is the owner of the USWA, Jerry Lawler.
Brown welcomes Tito to the USWA, as Santana tells Dave and the fans he is happy to be in the USWA. He says that he has been following the popularity of the company, and says that he couldn't be happier to be a part of an organization that respects pro wrestling as a sport and doesn't treat it as a joke.
Dave then asks Tito Santana, and Lawler to shed some light on what he is doing here in the USWA. Jerry Lawler says that Tito Santana has decided to come out of semi retirement and start a full time schedule back in professional wrestling. Lawler said that with his credentials, he couldn't pass up the opportunity to offer him a contract to come back to wrestling right here in the mid south. Lawler says that Ahmed Johnson has revived his career right here in the USWA, and he thinks Tito Santana could challenge for the USWA Unified Title soon enough!
Tito tells Jerry not to get ahead of himself! Tito tells Dave that he is excited to step back in the ring, but he is quite a few years older than Ahmed Johnson! Tito talks about how much he misses professional wrestling since his unofficial retirement back in 1996. He says that he has something to prove, and that the USWA was the first organization to believe in him.
Dave Brown says that he is excited to see what the old man has left in the tank, as the USWA has some such a diverse mix of young, old, and even guys in the prime of their careers.
(Bobby Fish music hits as he heads to the ring.)
Fish tells Tito he is happy to see him back in the USWA, but figured he would probably be best suited as the spanish announce team during Konnan's matches!
Fish tells Tito he respects the things he has done in professional wrestling, but he is just another old man trying to hold on to a dream that has passed him by. Fish talks about how Christopher Daniels has started a real NEW YEARS REVOLUTION as the man that will lead the next generation of pro wrestlers to the top tier of the professional wrestling industry. Tito is just a man getting in the way of that revolution.
Tito Santana tells Fish with all due respect that the professional wrestling business has plenty of room for wrestlers of all ages, and he is more than happy to prove himself in the ring.
Fish tells Santana that he hopes Jerry got him good seats for tonight's Main Event, because he can't wait for Santana to witness first hand, the new generation taking over this company!
Promo Video for Main Event
A video shows Ahmed Johnson and his victory over Akiyama to become the first ever Unified Triple Crown champion along with his successful defenses of the title until this point. Now their is a new face of the challenge. The young, the quick, the hybrid american strong style professional wrestler in Christopher Daniels.
The Video goes on to show some of the highlights of Daniels career and states that with the backing of Steve Corino, Daniels has another opportunity to prove that a younger generation of stars is up for the challenge of being the face of the USWA!
Can Ahmed Johnson fend of the challenge of Christopher Daniels one more time? This time within the confines of the Hell in a Cell? Or will Christopher Daniels be the face of a new generation hoping to defeat the "old guard" of professional wrestling?
We will find out tonight!
Christopher Daniels defeated Ahmed Johnson in a Hell In A Cell by pinfall with a springboard moonsault in 0:29:41. Rating: *** (Christopher Daniels won the Heavyweight Title.) (Christopher Daniels won the Global Title.) (Christopher Daniels won the Southern Title.) [Brian Lee interfered against Ahmed Johnson.] [Bobby Fish interfered against Ahmed Johnson.]
Daniels pulled off what most felt was the impossible by defeating Ahmed Johnson inside the Hell in a Cell. It took help from the Corino Family, as Brian Lee choke slammed Ahmed through a stack of two tables, circa ECW 1996. Also Bobby Fish came in to help finish off Johnson, giving Christopher the opportunity to hit a springboard moonsault from the top of the cage for a pinfall victory. Daniels held up the gold as the rest of the Corino Family joined him in the ring in celebration!
As Ahmed was laid out in the ringside area, Tito Santana came ran in to check on his condition. Backstage medics came to ringside to check on Johnson. Unlike our tag team match, both men walked out of the Cell without major injuries. We now look into the future of the USWA with Christopher Daniels as our new Unified Champion, and the gold back in the camp of Steve Corino!
Backstage Notes:
- Rey Bucanero finished up the remainder of his USWA contract with this show. He will be leaving the promotion and heading back to CMLL. We wish him the best of luck in the future.
- Tito Santana has officially signed a two year contract with the USWA.

USWA Championship TV January 31st, 2004 Host: Lance Russell
Show Opening
Lance Russell is back in the announce booth this week and thanks the fans for joining him on another edition of USWA Championship TV. Lance says we have a lot to discuss coming out of the New Years Revolution PPV, with the biggest news being a NEW Unified Champion in Christopher Daniels.
Still photos are shown of the match as Lance discusses how interference from Bobby Fish and Brian Lee led to the demise of Ahmed Johnson's title reign.
Lance then takes us to comments from Christopher Daniels.
(Daniels Promo)
Steve Corino is in the back holding all the titles, as Christopher Daniels tells the world "I told ya so". Daniels said he learned a thing or two in his first match with Johnson back at the Mid South Coliseum. He learned that after you get past the big muscles, and the lunatic anger management issues, Ahmed is just as soft as a kitty cat in that ring.
Daniels says that it took him one month to do what nobody in the Corino family could do in an entire year! That's to win the Unified Titles, and there is no looking back from here! Daniels says that the rise to superstar dome starts for the Fallen Angel in 2004!
Backstage Interview: Corino and Bobby Fish
Lance Russell tells the fans that Dave Brown caught up with Bobby Fish and Steve Corino earlier this week and discussed topics regarding his status in the Corino family. It was just last week on this television program that Fish was on his last leg with the group.
(Dave Brown asks Bobby Fish if the rumors of his exit from the family are true.)
Bobby Fish said that last week Taz caught him in the Tazmission, and thats all their was to it. This week...THIS WEEK is a different story.
Steve Corino jumps in and says that he might have been a little harsh on Bobby last week when he demanded that victory over Taz, but the fact of the matter is, Bobby showed his loyalty to the Corino family when he did what had to be done in order for Daniels to bring home the gold! Fish is still in the family, and because of his good deeds, he might even be in the mix for that Television Title that Bill Dundee has been talking about!
Recap: Prince Devitt vs CM Punk for X-Division Title.
Photos are shown of the X-Division title match at New Years Revolution between champion Prince Devitt and challenger C.M. Punk. C.M. Punk won the X Division title to become a two time champion, and bring more hardware home to the Corino Family. Devitt was able to escape multiple attempts from Punk to lock in the Anaconda Vice, but it was the repeated kicks to the head via the shining wizard that put him down to the mat for good.
Comments from Prince Devitt
Prince Devitt gives credit where it is due to C.M. Punk. Devitt says that Punk has been in the game for quite some time and knows how to step up to a challenge

Recap: Can Am Express vs Tequila Effect Hell in a Cell.
Photos are shown of the battle for the Tag Team Titles that took place at New Years Revolution 2004. Hell in a Cell between the champions Konnan and Raven vs Can Am Express. Titles vs Careers on the line. Konnan and Raven took the victory when Raven was able to make Dan Kroffat submit in the middle of the ring. Kroffat left the ring with a torn bicep, and Konnan will be out of action for a few weeks with a dislocated shoulder. The Tequila Effect leave Columbia with the tag titles still around their waist!
Promo: Konnan talks about his injury.
Konnan sits on a hospital bed with his shoulder heavily bandaged, but still holding his half of the Tag Titles. Konnan says that him and Raven took it to the extreme to open up the 2004 year. Konnan says that he knows that to be a champion you need to defend the titles every opportunity you get. Konnan promises that Tequila Effect will put these titles on the line in Canada, and will continue to have a long title reign.
Recap: Taz vs Sabu
Photos between Sabu and Taz are shown from New Years Revolution. Taz took the pinfall and wins the epic encounter, but it was Bill Alfonzo who distracted Taz and gave Sabu the opportunity to attack Taz from behind. It took multiple USWA referees and officials to get Sabu off of Taz. We have not seen the last of these two in the ring!
Taz talks about Sabu's attack
Taz says it's clear to him that Sabu hasn't learned a lesson getting his ass kicked at New Years Revolution. Taz admits that he isn't finished with him or Bill Alfonzo either. Taz says that he isn't afraid to take their feud to the next level if that's what Sabu and Alfozo want. Taz then challenges Sabu to find a partner and to meet him in a dream partner match next week!

That was about as interesting as a recap show could be. I say that as a compliment. The added interviews and comments from the wrestlers helped to make it interesting and move things forward.
I also really like the segment about the upcoming tour and the home video release. Nice touch. That's something I look forward to doing when the time comes, "releasing" GCW dvds. I think it will be a lot of fun to go back and put together compilations like that.
Tito!
Should be a fun tour coming up.

Strong words from Daniels about Johnson. I'm going to assume Ahmed won't take them lightly.
You tell'em, Malenko. Always been a huge fan of his.
Interesting to see Tito make a return to the ring. He didn't have much left in the tank at this point, but that doesn't mean he can't be involved in some good stuff.
I agree with Ryan, great recap show. Helped remind me of some stuff since it's been awhile since we've seen a card. Hopefully you continue to post often.

Tito Santana is my version of the 1994/95 ECW Terry Funk. The old respected babyface veteran helping to establish the promotion and prove to himself he still has what it takes. I actually was looking for someone that would fit the description of what Funk was at that time period. So Tito in 2004 is the 51 year old veteran coming in that people feel should call it a career.
I am going to try to increase the posting because I really am inspired by you guys and the amount of time you have established in your Universe, but still have quality cards. I put out 9 shows in January alone. That is part of my problem.

Do what you can, but over-do yourself. You will definitely get burnt out that way! Keep up the good work, though. I like Tito as the "never-say-die" old man.

USWA Championship TV February 7th, 2004 Host: Lance Russell
Show Open with Lance Russell
Lance Russell welcomes the fans to another edition of USWA Championship TV. A big lineup for today's show includes our first look at Tito Santana in action, along with a huge main event of Sabu vs Taz in a dream partner matchup.
Lance Russell talks about what a great crowd we had out in Lousiville at the Gardens. A lot of surprises as we get closer to our big Canadian Stampede Tour. Russell promises we will be highlighting a lot of the action that took place from Louisville, including a big announcement from Bill Dundee when we get back from a commercial break.
Press Conference: Bill Dundee announces plans to activate the USWA Television Title.
Bill Dundee welcomed everyone in attendance for coming out for his very historical announcement. Dundee explained how the title has been activated and deactivated multiple times throughout the history of the promotion. The most recent appearance of the title was in November of 2000 when AJ Styles defeated Paul London for the title.
AJ lost to Jesse James Armstrong 12/16/2000 Jesse James lost to Phil Lafon 1/13/2001 Title retired with Phil Lafon as the champion.
Dundee explained that during this era of the title, he wasn't around, but the promotion was carrying four different singles titles, which was over saturating the champions.
In 2004 we have the Unified Title for heavyweights and the X-Division title, which now carries a strict 225 pound limit. With only these two options for wrestlers, a third singles title with no weight restrictions is needed now more than ever. Enter the Television Title.
Bill Dundee announces that he wants to reintroduce the TV title in a match that has not been done in the USWA. Dundee announces for the first time, a 9 on 9 Torneo Cibernetico. This was a match that was suggested by Vampiro. The match will put two teams of 9 wrestlers in an elimination style match. The sole survivor will then be crowned USWA Television champion. If multiple members of one team are the survivors, they will then compete in an elimination style tornado match until we have a winner.
This first ever torneo cibernetico will take place on our Torono Canada tour stop on February 22nd. Both teams of 9 will have captains. Those captains will form their teams in the coming weeks. The only restriction to this tournament is that any participants in the match must not have held any part of the Unified Titles. Southern, Heavyweight, or Global.
Captain of Team 1 has been announced as Vampiro. The second team captain will be Bobby Fish. We will learn from both men the rest of the cibernetico participants in the upcoming week.
Backstage:Vampiro confronts Bobby Fish after hearing they will be captains of the torneo cibernetico.
Vampiro tells Bobby Fish that he is going to make it his number one priority to keep the TV title out of the hands of the Corino Family. From behind walk Karl Anderson and Brian Lee. Bobby Fish tells Vampiro he doesn't have to wait until Toronto to kick his ass. Fish tells Vampiro to find a few partners and meet them in the ring!
The Corino Family (Bobby Fish, Brian Lee and Karl Anderson) defeated Perry Saturn, Brian Christopher and Vampiro when Lee pinned Vampiro with the Prime Time Slam in 0:07:43. Rating: *** 3/4
After being named a Cibernetico captain, Vampiro asked Christopher and Saturn to help him tonight face off against Bobby Fish and his Corino Family members. In return for their services, Saturn and Christopher were named to Vampiros cibernetico team. Brian Lee finished off Vampiro with the prime time slam. This gave fish and his team a victory. After the match Fish told Lee and Anderson that they would be on his cibernetico team with the opportunity to win the Television title in Toronto.
Tito Santana pinned Damian 666 with the Flying Forearm in 0:07:15. Rating: *
The highly anticipated debut of Tito Santana ended with a victory for the 50 year old legend. Santana fended off Damian 666, a luchador who actually shook Santana's hand before the match. Santana picked up his first USWA victory with his famous flying forearm. Fans chanted "you still got it" at Santana, who took a bow for the appreciative crowd.
Backstage Tito gives his thoughts on being back in the ring.
Corey Maclin caught up with an exhausted Tito Santana who said it felt great to be back in the ring in front of the fans. Santana says that he still has a little gas in the tank, and he wants to show the world that age is just a number!
As Tito was about to give out his famous "arriba" calling, Konnan came in, extended his hand to congratulate Tito for his victory tonight.
In Ring Promo: Too Cold Scorpio returns to introduce a newcomer.
The loud speakers blast "Whoomp there it is" by Tag Team through the Louisville Gardens. USWA fans were in disbelief as Too Cold Scorpio made his way to the ring. Fans chanted "welcome back" to the former three time X-Division champion. Scorpio went on about how great it was to be back in the USWA, but had to burst the bubble of the fans by letting them know he is not returning to active competition. Scorpio talked about how he has opened up his own training school and wanted to bring out his first graduate. Out comes a man by the name of Shelton Benjamin. Scorpio gives some background on Benjamins amateur career in Minnesota, and says that he believes that Benjamin has the opportunity to have as successful of a career as he has.
Benjamin was ready for his first ever USWA match tonight, so Daizee Haze came out and offered up a match against Joey Matthews. Mickey Jay ran down to call for the bell, and our first match of the night was underway.
Shelton Benjamin made Joey Matthews submit to a wristlock in 0:13:54. Rating: *** 1/2 [Daizee Haze interfered against Shelton Benjamin.]
In his debut match, Shelton Benjamin pulls off the win over Matthews. [Dream Partner Match]: Sabu and CM Punk defeated Taz and Prince Devitt when Sabu pinned Devitt with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:08:58. Rating: **** [Bill Alfonso interfered against Prince Devitt.]
Sabu and Taz agreed to meet again coming off the New Years Revolution PPV. Both men were expected to pick their dream partners. It was no surprise that Sabu and Alfonso would make a deal with Steve Corino for the services of X Division champion, CM Punk. To counter that move, Taz picked former X-Division champion Prince Devitt. With the X-Division on display, this match had it all from high flying, to some of the best mat wrestling in the world. While Taz was cut off trying to break up multiple pin attempts on his partner, Sabu was able to hit the triple jump moonsault and the victory for his dream team. After the match, Taz was the one who cleared the ring of both Punk and Sabu and then turned his attention to Bill Alfonzo, who he finally was able to choke out with the Tazmission in the middle of the ring! Officials had to help carry Alfonzo out on a stretcher as the crowd went wild.

Alfonzo made his way to the ring in a neck brace, which Taz easily slapped on the Tazmission, until Alfonzo was a non factor. Taz continues to get the best of his old foe!
Alex Koslov and D'Lo Brown defeated The Bad Street Boys (Christian York and Joey Matthews) when A. Koslov made York submit to a guillotine choke in 0:33:19. Rating: **** (Bull Buchanan no-showed.)
Alex Koslov stepped in for an injured Bull Buchanan in this Tag Team match. Another loss by York and Matthews, and the first sign of animosity between the Bad Street Boys was revealed when Matthews blamed York for tapping out. Daizee Haze seperated her men, but their is definitely issues inside the camp of the Bad Street Boys.
Brian Lee pinned Tito Santana with the Prime Time Slam in 0:10:51. Rating: ** 3/4
After Tito helped out our tag team champions Tequila Effect in the six man tag from Montreal last night, Steve Corino told Santana he would be facing the Bulldozer of the Corino Family in Brian Lee. Lee, who is a ring veteran, and still a force to be reckon with, out powered the legend. Lee continued the beating after the bell, until Bobby Fish came down and told Santana that this was just a preview of the beating he is going to take in the Cibernetico match tomorrow night!
Steel Cage Match: Prince Devitt defeated La Mascara by escaping the cage in 0:23:17. Rating: *** 3/4
The rage in the cage between two X-Division contenders took place in our semi main event. Prince Devitt, coming off a loss in his X-Division title rematch with CM Punk, got back to his winning ways tonight. Devitt was able to finally put an end to the nonsense between him and former friend La Mascara by giving La Mascara the opportunity he wanted. La Mascara was unable to earn the victory, and Devitt is put right back into the X-Division title picture. After Devitt left the ring in victory, Latin Lover made his way to the ring and helped La Mascara to his feet. The two men seem to make for an odd combination, considering Lover was a former foe of La Mascara when he first came to the USWA.
No-Countout-No-DQ-Falls-Count-Anywhere Match: Christopher Daniels pinned Ahmed Johnson with the Last Rites in 0:17:35. Rating: *** (Christopher Daniels retained the Heavyweight Title.) (Christopher Daniels retained the Global Title.) (Christopher Daniels retained the Southern Title.)
Falls Count Anywhere, Christopher Daniels defended the Unified Title over Ahmed Johnson in the Main Event. Just like the stretcher match, this one went all over the arena. Fighting under Johnsons rules, it took a clever champion in Daniels to come up with a gameplan for victory. As the match went around the arena, members of the Corino Family were around every turn in order to help Daniels get the upper hand. At the top of the enterance, Brian Lee joined in the fight to give Johnson a primetime slam. When the match went to the backstage, Karl Anderson helped Daniels with a 2-1. When the match made its way into the concourse, it was Bobby Fish who kept Johnson occupied in order to give the champion an opportunity to rest. By the time the match made it's way back to the ring, Daniels hit the last rights finisher and was able to get the 1-2-3, but not until after facing the wrath of the Corino Family. Johnson will be given another opportunity to win the title, under Daniels rules, a ladder match in Toronto!
Match observations:
USWA On the Road Report:
The Canadian Stampede tour continued on to Ottawa Canada and matches from tonight will be aired on USWA TV tomorrow night!
Christopher Daniels, with help of the rest of the Corino Family, sucessfully defended the Unified title in a no countout/no DQ, falls count anywhere match. No matter where the match ended up in the arena, a member of the family was there to weaken the challenger. Daniels defended the title under Johnsons prefered stipulation. Tomorrow night, Daniels gets to enforce his Ladder Match stipulation as Johnson gets another opportunity at the title.
Alex Shelley told Tito Santana he would take care of Damien 666 for him tonight, and thats exactly what he did. Shelley has been showing a "softer" side as of late, and today he earned the respect of Tito by taking care of Damian, who got involved in his match last night on Montreal.
Shelton Benjamin brought Too Cold Scorpio to the ring with him tonight and earned a victory over the previously undefeated L.A. Smooth. Big win for Shelton, but this could also put him on the radar of the Samoan Gangsta Party.
Petey Williams talked about how important his X-division title match will be tomorrow night after getting a quick victory over Matt Cross. Williams will take on CM Punk for the title after winning a three way dance last week on TV.
Taz defeated Sabu tonight in a stretcher match. He has now taken out both Alfonzo and Sabu on stretchers. Sabu has never defeated Taz in singles competition. It seems as the obstical of Sabu is out of the way of Taz, who could be prepared to receive another Unified Title opportunity against Christopher Daniels.
Tension among the Bad Street Boys came to a head tonight after a loss to D-Lo Brown and Alex Koslov, who have never teamed before. These two will both be part of Bobby Fish's Cibernetico Team in Toronto. Hopefully they can keep their calm as they attempt to earn a shot at the TV title.
Prince Devitt defeated La Mascara in cage match that was offered to him by La Mascara several weeks ago. Devitt returned to his winning ways after losing his rematch at the X-Division title last night. Devitt and Shelley both seem to be waiting in the wins of another title shot, but they will have to wait and see what the outcome of the Williams/CM Punk match tomorrow night.
