SOTBW is a lucha fantasy wrestler indy circuit set in the same wrestling universe as my PXW.
I try to book this as a traditional lucha libre organization: stronger emphasis on faces (tecnicos) vs heels (rudos), nearly all matches are 2-out-of-3 falls, and there are a large number of team matches (usually 3-on-3). Also, most guys are masked and have goofy gimmicks.
I've previously posted some of this on the mothership and on my homepage, but I'm going to start reposting them here getting up to date and as I continue to run cards.
When I picked this circuit up again this month I realized some of my booking gets schizophrenic about a half dozen cards in, but I've managed to plow through that and get back on focus.
Titles are the Campeon de Campeons Title (Champion of Champions), Tag Titles, and Trios Titles which will all be awarded over the first few months of the circuit. One weekly house show and no TV contract yet.

SOTBW #1 April 3, 1999 Tijuana, Mexico
An unnamed ring announcer welcomes us to the debut show of South Of The Border Wrestling. It is announced that participants for tonights matches have been selected based off brackets for the upcoming tag tourney.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Mach 3, Gravity Racer and Hijo de X-51 beat Los Pentiums (Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium III) 2 falls to 1: x Pentium III beat Mach 3 via the Gigabyte Bomb in 0:10:58 x Mach 3 beat Pentium I via disqualification in 0:13:54 x G-Racer beat Pentium III via disqualification in 0:21:02 Rating: ** 1/2
Gravity Racer is a cliff diver, Hijo de X-51 is doing a sci-fi gimmick, and Los Pentiums are what you get when you cross Los Villanos with a Wierd Al Yankovic song. The flyers vs brawlers thing works well for Los Pentiums but they get DQed for not releasing a choke. Pentium III later tries to pull off Mach 3's mask, prompting referee Baby Antonio to pull off Pentium III and get KOed for trying to enforce the rules. Pedro Guapo runs in shortly thereafter to try to keep things going, but Antonio revives and DQs the Pentiums. Crowd was pretty into it.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Balisticos (American Psycho and Crazy Ivan) and Caos beat Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) and Tinebla Guerrera 2 falls to 0: x Ivan beat Tinebla via a moonsault in 0:02:49 x Caos beat Lozano via a powerslam in 0:11:56 Rating: *** 1/2
Rosas and Lozano are a couple of young guys from Mexicali who used to bus tables by day and wrestle by night when they did indy gigs in Tijuana. Tinebla Guerrera is doing the lucha version of Shadow Maxx. The rudos are generic crazy guys. Rudos get lots of heat because this is in Tijuana and Los Maniacos are major babyfaces, but sweep the match although Lozano got a big pop for kicking out of a Chaos Theory.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Canadians (Rob Bihari and Colin MacKinnon) and Rob Vincent beat Los Ratoncitos (Poderoso Raton and Speedy Gonzalez) and Pikachu 2 falls to 0: x Bihari beat Speedy via spinning headscissors in 0:12:34 x Bihari beat Pika via a springboard moonsault in 0:17:02 Rating: *** 3/4
Yeah, three rats. Well, we know who the local comedy wrestlers are. A couple of Canadian unknowns without masks come out and the crowd is unsure of how to react until they introduce their surprise third member...Rob Vincent! Okay, so they were still unsure of how to react at that point but then tres gringos start mocking the crowd and their opponents stupid gimmicks and that settles that. Great part of the match sees Vincent put Poderoso Raton in the Swankinator for what seems like forever but and he keeps briefly blanking out but keeps coherent enough not to submit. Crowd gets behind him and he finally powers out and starts destroying Vincent but then the the rudos start cheating like crazy to kill the comeback. And referee Hernan Guerrero conviently keeps missing the cheating. Interesting occurance after the match as while the rudos walk to the back to boos, somebody ambushes them from the shadows. Bihari gets a guitar broken over his head and the mysterious attacker runs off before anyone can get a good look at him.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Super Kings (Super King I, Super King II and Super King III) beat Team Ultra (Ultra MEGA and Ultra MAX) and El Bombastico 2 falls to 1: x MAX beat SK II via a nerve hold in 0:05:48 x SK I beat MAX via the Super King Rana in 0:12:39 x SK I beat Bombastico via the Super King Rana in 0:16:33 Rating: ** 3/4
Super Kings are a bunch of generic faces who have trademark orange mist for when they get in a serious jam. Rudos are generic egomaniacs, with Ultra MEGA a gimmick successor to Mega and Super Mega. Contrary to some rumors, El Bombastico is NOT Bob Holly under a mask. Crowd was into it. Rudos tried and failed to make saves on both pinfalls they lost.
Tag Tournament brackets are announced: Onix y Snorlax vs Phantasmo y Sexorcisto Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club vs Los Balisticos Los Ratoncitos vs Los Canadians Materia y ContraMateria vs Los Conquistadors Koffing y Lickitung vs The Takahashi Brothers Hijo de X-51 y Mach 3 vs vs Pentium I y II Super King I y II vs Ultra MEGA y Ultra MAX Machoke y Pinsir vs The Electric Head
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: El Culto de Zombi Blanco (Astro Creep 2000, El Phantasmo, Electric Head 1, Electric Head 2 and La Sexorcisto) beat Los Pokemon (Gengar, Machoke, Onix, Pinsir and Snorlax) 2 falls to 0: x Phantasmo beat Machoke via pinfall in 0:13:43 x AC 2000 beat Onix via the DeHumanizer in 0:15:05 Rating: ** 1/2
Yes, your main event is 5 guys dressed like Pokemon against 5 guys who worship Rob Zombie. More questionable refing by Hernan Guerrero, especially a possible fast count on the first pinfall after a kick. The freaks got HUGE heel heat.

SOTBW #2 April 10, 1999 Tijuana, Mexico
"Electric Head, Part 1 (The Agony)" by White Zombie plays and the arena goes dark. Astro Creep 2000, Electric Head 1 y 2, La Sexorcisto, and El Phantasmo come out to the ring slowly. They do wierd chanting and Phantasmo does some sort of wierd ritual involving a chicken (hopefully just a really realistic rubber chicken filled with fake blood) that has parents covering the eyes of their children in the crowd. Los Pokemon get a big pop when they come out to get things underway.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: The Electric Head (Electric Head 1 and Electric Head 2) beat Los Pokemon (Machoke and Pinsir) 2 falls to 0: x EH 2 beat Machoke via disqualification in 0:21:26 x EH 1 beat Machoke via disqualification in 0:23:47 Rating: *** 1/2
Odd match as the rudos sneakily caused Machoke to run into referee Baby Antonio and draw a DQ. Then they got another DQ on a chokehold by Machoke.
[Lightning Match]: Federale defeated Speedy Gonzalez by disqualification in 0:02:22. Rating: ** 1/4
Federale is doing an Mexican cop gimmick. Referee Hiplito Rodriguez is looking the wrong way at the wrong time and a missed move caused Gonzalez to collide with Rodriguez accidently. Rodriguez DQs the rat and helps Federale dispense some Mexican justice: handcuffed to the ropes, Gonzalez gets the stuffing beat out of him by Federale's nightstick.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) beat Los Balisticos (American Psycho and Crazy Ivan) 2 falls to 0: x Lozano beat Ivan after the Maniac Splash in 0:16:57 x Rosas beat A. Psycho via the Bus Boy Bomb in 0:29:37 Rating: **** 1/4
Balistcos do lots of damage to the young technicos, but they make the hot comebacks for a clean sweep including Lozano kicking out of a Ballstic Missile.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Super Kings (Super King I and Super King II) beat Team Ultra (Ultra MEGA and Ultra MAX) 2 falls to 1: x SK I beat Ultra MEGA via an Asai moonsault bodyblock in 0:05:07 x Ultra MEGA beat SK II via disqualification in 0:10:20 x SK II beat MAX via the Super King Spike in 0:15:25 Rating: *** 1/4
Dominated by the technicos, with the DQ coming after Super King II ended a Ultra comeback with a face-full of orange mist which drew a DQ from referee Hernan Guerrero.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Conquistadores (Conquistador #1 and Conquistador #2) beat Materia y ContraMateria (Matter and Anti-Matter) 2 falls to 0: x Conquistador #1 beat Matter via a shooting star legdrop in 0:08:23 x Conquistador #2 beat Anti-Matter via the Tornado Kick in 0:11:18 Rating: **** 1/4
The odd Matter/Anti-Matter team (odd because Matter acts like a technico and Anti-Matter acts like a rudo) gets dominated. Matter kicked out of one shooting star legdrop but couldn't survive another. Conquistadors continue to clean house and dispose of Anti-Matter as well.
Colin MacKinnon comes out alone, claiming the Mexican government revoked Rob Bihari's work visa because they were jealous of last week's domination by Los Canadians over the pathetic Mexican competition. He also challenges the mysterious attacker from last week to reveal himself but no one comes forward. Four members of Los Pokemon come out for the scheduled match, which was supposed to be an 8-man tag. The Takahasi Brothers (the other rudo duo scheduled for the match) ambush Los Pokemon before they get to the ring and we get underway.
Handicap-Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Pokemon (Beedrill, Charizard, Gengar and Hitmonlee) beat The Takahashi Brothers (Sengoku Takahashi and Kawajiri Takahashi) and Colin MacKinnon 2 falls to 0: x Charizard beat Colin via a dragon suplex in 0:07:55 x Charizard beat Kawajiri via a dragon suplex in 0:12:37 Rating: ***
Rudos countered numbers by cheating like...well...rudos. Takahasi Brothers reel off highspots like crazy for awhile then tag Colin for the finale. But Charizard counters a DVD and hits a dragon suplex out of nowhere for a shocker pin. Colin snaps and while the Takahasi's keep the ref busy, he takes a chair to Charizard culminating in a Tombstone on said chair. And then he hits the Omega Bomb, just to be a prick. Charizard is probably legally dead after a highly illegal piledriver on a chair and Colin's finisher, but Hitmonlee saves by nearly kicking Colin's head off at the count of 2 3/4. HUGE brawl ensues and the match just completely goes out of control. A couple referees come out to check on Charizard but after a few minutes he pops up, screams "CHARMANDER!" (to a big pop), fireballs the nearest person (Kawajiri), and pins him with a dragon suplex. And then promptly collapses on the spot again. Rudos go for a post match beatdown in revenge, the lights go out! A moment later, they're back on and a mysterious man in sitting in a chair at ringside. The crowd recognizes him as the mystery man from last week, but because of the lighting again you cannot see his face. After a moment of suspense, he bolts from his chair and slides into the ring. The rudos attack but he takes them, lariating each of them over the top. The rudos retreat and the mystery man hurries off through the crowd.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules: Los Pentiums (Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium III) beat Gravity Racer, Mach 3 and Hijo de X-51 3 falls to 1: x G-Racer beat Pentium I via the Flying Frankensteiner in 0:06:42 x Pentium II beat Mach 3 via a small package in 0:13:15 x Pentium II beat G-Racer via a powerslam in 0:13:55 Rating: ** 3/4
Good solid main event and Los Pentiums are very over as rudos. This was a rematch from last week after the Pentiums did some choking and mask-pulling that understandably didn't sit well with the tecnicos.

[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Pokemon (Onix and Snorlax) beat El Culto de Zombi Blanco (El Phantasmo and La Sexorcisto) 2 falls to 1: x Onix beat Sexorcisto via disqualification in 0:06:44 x Sexorcisto beat Onix via an Ace Crusher in 0:07:19 x Snorlax beat Phantasmo via the Giagantic Splash in 0:11:54 Rating: *** 1/2
Colin MacKinnon announces his new partner: Mike Dale.
[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Ratoncitos (Poderoso Raton and Speedy Gonzalez) beat Los Nuevos Canadians (Colin MacKinnon and Mike Dale) 2 falls to 0: x Poderoso Raton beat Colin via the Mighty Mouse Splash in 0:11:36 x Poderoso Raton beat Dale via disqualification in 0:14:54 Rating: * 3/4
Dale gets DQed after pulling referee Baby Antonio in front of a Poderoso Raton corner charge. The rudos deciede to beat up Baby Antonio after the match. Los Ratoncitos try to stop them, but this brings out Federale who cleans house with hits nightstick. The crowd boos loudly as the rudos demolish the technicos. But then "Bulletproof" by Los Lobos hits and the lights go out. When they come back on, the mysterious man from the last two weeks is standing in the middle of the ring with a guitar in hand. Mike Dale is KOed by the guitar and Colin and Federale bail out of the ring. The mystery man gets a mic and announces he is El Mariachi and is here to defend the honor and pride of Mexico. Big crowd pop.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules El Cheapo, Caos and Pentium III beat Charizard, Gravity Racer and Tinebla Guerrera 2 falls to 1: x Pentium III beat Tinebla via the Gigabyte Bomb in 0:04:54 x Charizard beat Caos via the Fire Spin in 0:10:11 x Cheapo beat G-Racer via the Tombstone Piledriver in 0:16:42 Rating: ** 3/4

Sengoku was pushing Baby Antonio around for most of the match and finally got DQed for it.
[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Pentiums (Pentium I and Pentium II) beat Hijo de X-51 and Mach 3 2 falls to 0: x Pentium I beat Hijo de X-51 via the Kilobyte Bomb in 0:09:45 x Pentium II beat Mach 3 via the Megabyte Bomb in 0:14:22 Rating: *** 1/2

SOTBW #4 April 24, 1999 Tijuana, Mexico
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Balisticos (American Psycho and Crazy Ivan) beat The Los Punos Americanos (Puno Salvaje and Puno Supremo) 2 falls to 0: x A. Psycho beat Salvaje after the Ballistic Missile in 0:09:38 x A. Psycho beat Supremo after the Ballistic Missile in 0:14:40 Rating: *** 1/4
Basicly a squash for Los Balisticos against a visiting American tag team under masks.
[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) beat Los Conquistadores (Conquistador #1 and Conquistador #2) 2 falls to 0: x Lozano beat Conquistador #2 via a moonsault in 0:25:25 x Rosas beat Conquistador #2 via disqualification in 0:33:02 Rating: **** 1/4
Excellent match with lots of near-falls and a mix of brawling (including some nasty fights on the floor), tag teaming, and high flying action. Los Maniacos were over big with the crowd as usual, including Lozano playing Ricky Morton. Lozano eventually mounts a big babyface comeback, hitting several moves to finish with a spinning backbreaker and a moonsault for the first fall. Conquistador #2 made the mistake of getting physical with referee Baby Antonio and got DQed for it.
[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Pokemon (Koffing and Lickitung) beat Los Pentiums (Pentium I and Pentium II) 2 falls to 0: x Lickitung beat Pentium II via a powerslam in 0:04:53 x Lickitung beat Pentium I via a spinebuster slam in 0:08:55 Rating: ***
Alot of comedy wrestling as the Pentiums kept clobbering Lickitung and he kept licking their mask for the brief moments when he'd get the upper hand. Lickitung hits a powerslam out of nowhere for the first fall. Second fall turns a bit more serious and Koffing gets tagged for a bit, hiting a bunch of big moves. Hot tag Lickitung who threatens a lick, but Pentium I begs off. So Lickitung spinebusters him instead.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules: Los Pokemon (Gengar, Machoke and Pinsir) beat Caos and Team Ultra (Ultra MEGA and Ultra MAX) 2 falls to 1: x Gengar beat Ultra MEGA via the Dream Eater in 0:12:47 x Caos beat Pinsir via a flying elbowdrop in 0:16:38 x Machoke beat MAX via a sleeperhold in 0:21:12 Rating: *** 1/2
Gengar shocks nearly everyone in the building by kicking out of a Kiss of Death from MAX. Gengar hits a flying legdrop to set up a submission via the Dream Eater. Second fall sees the rudos use a chair that Baby Antonio misses. Pinsir shockingly kicks out from the Chaos Theory, but a subsequent flying elbowdrop evens the score. Third falls sees MAX fight to the ropes to break from the Dream Eater, but Machoke gets tagged in and a sleeper in the middle of the ring gets a submission win for Los Pokemon.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules: Tinebla Guerrera, Super King III and Matter beat El Cheapo, Pentium III and El Bombastico 2 falls to 1: x Bombastico beat Matter via the Bombastic Splash in 0:00:48 x Tinebla beat Cheapo via the Dark Bomb in 0:14:14 Rating: *** 1/4
Wierd quick opening fall as Matter gets demolished by Bombastico. Second fall takes a good while longer. Good series between SK3 and P3. El Cheapo is comes in and the crowd just boos him out of the building before he does anything. He starts hitting moves like crazy on Super King but King ends that with a flying forearm. Later, a flying cross body press sets up the Dark Bomb for the second fall.
[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Los Super Kings (Super King I and Super King II) beat Los Pokemon (Onix and Snorlax) 2 falls to 1: x SK I beat Onix via the Super King Rana in 0:10:50 x Snorlax beat SK I via the Gigantic Splash in 0:16:19 x SK II beat Onix via the Michinoku Driver in 0:21:51 Rating: *** 1/4
Technicos vs technicos, refereed by a rudo. Crowd is behind Los Pokemon, but not really against Los Super Kings. So Hernan Guerrero does whatever any self respecting rudo ref would do: he screws over the more popular team, ignoring that Onix had actually gotten a rope break on what he counted as the third fall. Super Kings didn't see it.
[Tag Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: The Electric Head (Electric Head 1 and Electric Head 2) beat Los Ratoncitos (Poderoso Raton and Speedy Gonzalez) 2 falls to 0: x EH 2 beat Poderoso Raton via a slingshot bodyblock in 0:18:50 x EH 1 beat Speedy via the Agony in 0:26:20 Rating: ****
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules: Los Pokemon (Beedrill, Charizard and Pikachu) beat El Culto de Zombi Blanco (Astro Creep 2000, El Phantasmo and La Sexorcisto) 2 falls to 1: x Beedrill beat Sexorcisto via the Pin Missile in 0:02:01 x Phantasmo beat Beedrill via the Chicken Run Blast-o-Rama in 0:04:07 x Pika beat Phantasmo via the Electric Drop in 0:10:23 Rating: *** 3/4
A special Cinco De Mayo show is announced. It will feature a 16-man tournament for the SOTBW Campeon de Campeons Title as well as the finals of the SOTBW Tag Titles tournament.
[Main Event]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match With Captain's Rules: Federale, The Takahashi Brothers (Sengoku Takahashi and Kawajiri Takahashi), Los Nuevos Canadians (Colin MacKinnon and Mike Dale) beat El Mariachi, Mach 3, Gravity Racer, Hijo de X-51 and Hitmonlee 2 falls to 0: x Kawajiri beat Mariachi after the Takahashi Torment in 0:07:52 Rating: *** 1/4
Big 5-on-5 technicos vs rudos main event. The match is pretty much chaos. Los Nuevos Canadians managed to sneak in a spiked Tombstone on El Mariachi, which the ref missed. This brings out Los Ratonicitos but the other refs come out to prevent them from interfering. Kawajiri has his eyes on the prize however and gets the win with Mariachi out cold in the Takahashi Torment.

Los Nuevos Canadians came out to mess with one half of Los Ratoncitos. Mike Dale put Pirana's foot on the ropes during a Mighty Mouse Splash pinfall attempt, which helped Pirana shortly thereafter take the first fall. They hung around till the third fall when Colin tossed Pirana a Halto! sign which he used to KO Poderoso Raton for the winning pin. The rudos beat on Raton after the match. Speedy Gonzalez runs out to save his partner, but gets beaten down. Then the lights go out for a moment and when they come back on Tinebla Guerrera is standing in the ring. Odd tournament finish sees rudo vs rudo and the crowd just pretty much hates both guys. Pirana taunts the crowd with the belt, but Bombastico is clearly not pleased with losing.

El Phat Ass is a fat guy pretending to be Rikishi, La Roca is doing a Rock gimmick, and Piedra Frio has a shaved head and acts like a badass.
Los Maniacos come out for their rematch with The Electric Head from the Cinco de Mayo show. But Psychosis and Parka interrupt, insisting they want the title shot they won at the show right now. Big brawl breaks out and the ref just goes ahead and starts the match.
Triangle Match Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) defeated La Parka 2000 and Psychosis 2000 and The Electric Head (Electric Head 1 and Electric Head 2) when Rosas pinned EH 2 after a Frankensteiner from the top rope in 0:03:22. El Mariachi returns, but sporting a neck brace from the Spiked Tombstone Piledriver he suffered two weeks ago. Bombastico grabs a mic and says he has proven he deserves a rematch with Pirana for the Campeon de Campeons Title. Bombastico and Pirana argue. El Mariachi gets a pair of guitars from under the ring and holds them up to reveal "Rudos suck" on the back of the guitars in black masking tape. Bombastico and Pirana are too busy arguing to notice and get KO'd by an double El Kabong.

SOTBW #7 May 15, 1999 Tijuana, Mexico
El Culto de Zombi Blanco are out and do some strange ritual requesting empowerment from El Zombi Blanco. El Bombastico interrupts and wants a shot at Pirana. Pirana suggests he get in line behind Tinebla Guerrera when it comes to title shots. Tinebla Guerrera suggests they settle things in a three-way match. The Electric Head chime in and they want another match with Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club. La Parka 2000 and Psychosis 2000 join the mess and suggest if anyone is getting a match with Los Maniacos it should be them because they weren't pinned in the match last week. Head Referee Hernan Guerrero finally puts an end to all of this and informs them all that nobody can have the matches they want because they're all already scheduled in matches tonight to finish the opening round of the Trios Titles Tournament.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Pokemon (Beedrill, Charizard, Koffing, Onix and Pikachu) beat El Culto de Zombi Blanco (Astro Creep 2000, El Phantasmo, Electric Head 1, Electric Head 2 and La Sexorcisto) 2 falls to 0: x Onix beat Sexorcisto via the Rock Drop in 0:13:12 x Beedrill beat Phantasmo via the Pin Missile in 0:31:13 Rating: *** 1/2

Snorlax took a snooze right on top of Azumi and he was too heavy to get out from under.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Super Kings (Super King I, Super King II and Super King III) beat Los Pentiums (Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium IV) 2 falls to 1: x SK III beat Pentium I via a flying forearm in 0:01:15 x Pentium II beat SK I via a snap suplex in 0:06:45 x SK II beat Pentium IV via the Super King Spike in 0:12:40 Rating: *** 1/2

[Trios Titles Tournament]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) and El Mariachi beat Team Ultra (Ultra MEGA and Ultra MAX) and El Bombastico 2 falls to 1: x Ultra MEGA beat Rosas via a flying cross body press in 0:33:50 x Lozano beat Ultra MEGA via a rana in 0:36:01 x Rosas beat Ultra MEGA via a flying spinning leg lariat in 0:37:26 Rating: **** [Pirana interfered against El Bombastico.] [Electric Head 1 interfered against Cesar Lozano.] [Electric Head 1 interfered against Miguel Rosas.] [Pirana interfered against El Mariachi.]
Match is crazy as Pirana comes to ringside with the belt to taunt Mariachi and Bombastico and randomly tosses objects into the ring when the ref isn't looking. The crowd is eating this match up. The ref gets knocked out by a errant flying clothesine so when El Mariachi hits a big Desperado Lariato there's nobody to count. The Electric Head run in again and Pirana starts being less covert with his interference as the match progresses. MAX gets a Kiss of Death on Mariachi and might have gotten a pinfall but the ref wasn't back with it fast enough to count right away. Rosas gets a foot on the ropes but it gets knocked off before the ref sees it to have the first pin count. The match breaks down completely at this point as the ref is just desperate to count pinfall attempts. Tinebla Guerrera and Poderoso Raton come out and fight with The Electric Head (Speedy Gonzalez is still hurting from his attack). Somewhere in there some pinfalls get counted to finish the match. The rest of El Culto come out to help The Electric Head, but that draws out Los Ultimates which brings out Los Nuevos Canadians. The entire ring area is total chaos. Security finally comes out and breaks everything up to end the show.

El Mariachi comes out before the next match to have word with the crowd. He talks about Pirana's ill deeds thus far in SOTBW including his interference last week. SOTBW and Mexico deserve a better champion!
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match El Mariachi, Rey Mysterio 2000 and Pikachu beat Pirana, Federale and Astro Creep 2000 2 falls to 1: x Mysterio 2000 beat Federale via a backslide in 0:12:38 x Federale beat Mysterio 2000 via a nerve hold in 0:14:12 x Pika beat Pirana via spinning headscissors into a cradle in 0:19:18 Rating: *** 1/2
Pirana is PISSED at getting pinned and immediately starts pummeling Pikachu. Mariachi stops him and they fight. Mysterio 2000 tries to help but gets caught and choked out by Federale with his nightstick. Referees have to break it up so we can get on to our main event.
Four Corners Match Los Balisticos (American Psycho and Crazy Ivan) drew Los Nuevos Canadians (Colin MacKinnon and Mike Dale), Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) and Los Ultimates (La Parka 2000 and Psychosis 2000): x Ivan beat Lozano via the Soviet Suplex in 0:26:00 x time limit expired (A. Psycho and Dale) in 0:30:00 Rating: *** (Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club retained the SOTBW Tag Titles.)
After the pinfall, Los Balisticos think they have won the titles and start celebrating but the referee informs them the match is elimination not first fall! Rudos are pissed. The time limit expires without any additional eliminations so Los Maniacos retain their titles. This match seems to have resolved nothing.

This was a rematch from SOTBW #6, where El Culto used a foreign object to win. They win again, this time cleanly.
[Trios Titles Tournament - Semifinals]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Pentiums (Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium IV) beat Los Japones (Kash Azumi, Kawajiri Takahashi and Saito Makahasi) 2 falls to 0: x Pentium IV beat Azumi via the Terrabyte Bomb in 0:14:19 x Pentium IV beat Azumi via the Terrabyte Bomb in 0:24:37 Rating: ***

Our first Trios champions will be crowned next week!
Ultra MAX cuts a promo. He says El Mariachi has been dodging him for the last two weeks. He had Mariachi pinned but the ref missed it. El Mariachi comes out to say MAX is all full of talk and accept his challenge. But for next week, because they have a team match tonight.
No-Time-Limit Number-One-Contenders Four Corners Match Los Balisticos (American Psycho and Crazy Ivan) defeated The Electric Head (Electric Head 1 and Electric Head 2), Los Ultimates (La Parka 2000 and Psychosis 2000) and Los Nuevos Canadians (Colin MacKinnon and Mike Dale): x EH 1 beat Psychosis 2000 via a Tombstone in 0:06:55 x Colin beat EH 1 via a moonsault bodyblock in 0:09:52 x A. Psycho beat Dale after the Ballistic Missile in 0:13:47 Rating: ***
After last week's Four Corners match went to a time limit draw despite Los Balistocos eliminating Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club, a new match was set up to get clear number one contenders. And those contenders are indeed Los Balisticos.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano), El Mariachi and Rey Mysterio 2000 beat Team Ultra (Ultra MEGA and Ultra MAX), El Bombastico and Federale 2 falls to 1: x Lozano beat Bombastico via a springboard DDT in 0:19:14 x Federale beat Rosas via the Hard Time in 0:25:15 x Lozano beat Ultra MEGA after the Transmaniacon in 0:32:38 Rating: *** 1/2
Alot of bad blood in this match. Federale laid a beating on Mysterio last week with his nightstick. Team Ultra are chasing the Bus Boys' titles, MAX thinks he's better than Mariachi, and Mariachi has laid out Bombastico with a guitar in his fights with the rudos.
[Main Event]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Pirana beat Pikachu 2 falls to 0: x Pirana beat Pika via a swinging fisherman suplex in 0:11:20 x Pirana beat Pika via countout in 0:13:03 Rating: ** 1/2 (Pirana retained the SOTBW Campeon de Campeones Title.)
Pirana was pissed at Pikachu after being pinned by him last week. The fan-favorite in the Pokemon mask was literally beaten from pillar to post as Pirana hammered him repeatedly into the ringpost and guardrail while outside the ring and left him sprawled unconcious on the floor for the countout.
Pirana couldn't celebrate his win very long though as El Bombastico made his way out and got into a war of words. Pirana won the title by beating Bombastico in the finals of the Cinco de Mayo tournament and still owes a rematch.

Los Nuevos Canadians open the show by coming out with Canadian flags and demanding the Candian National Anthem be played. As soon as it finishes, the Mexican National Anthem starts and out comes El Mariachi. He gets a mic and reminds the Candians he hasn't forgotten that spiked piledriver that put him out of action for several weeks. He wants to face the Canadians later tonight. The Canadians offer a handicap match but then the lights go out. When they come back on, the Canadians don't realize Tinebla Guerrera is sitting on a turnbuckle behind them with a mic so he spooks them when he starts to speak. He says he hasn't forgot the Canadians interference on the Cinco De Mayo show so El Mariachi doesn't need to search for a tag partner! The rudos agree to the match and beat a hasty retreat.
Los Pentiums come out with their newly won Trios Titles. Gravity Racer, El Hijo de X-51, and Mach 3 come out and ask for a match, since they had a few matches back in April. Los Pentiums agree, but this one is non-title.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Pentiums (Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium IV) beat Hijo de X-51, Gravity Racer and Mach 3 2 falls to 1: x Pentium II beat G-Racer via a backslide in 0:03:17 x G-Racer beat Pentium II via a springboard somersault bodyblock in 0:11:32 x Pentium IV beat G-Racer via the Terrabyte Bomb in 0:14:01 Rating: * 3/4
First fall has some good tag action but the rudos take it with a backslide countering an armdrag. Second fall sees one of the Pentiums get powerbombed on a chair. Mix of brawling and some highspots to finish it. Third fall sees the rudos keep Gravity Racer trapped in the ring. They repeatedly prevent him from tagging out and just wear him down till they can finish him off. Crowd was not particularly excited.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Conquistadores (Conquistador #1 and Conquistador #2) and El Cheapo beat Los Pokemon (Hitmonlee, Machoke and Pinsir) 2 falls to 0: x Cheapo beat Pinsir via disqualification in 0:09:18 x Conquistador #2 beat Pinsir via the Tornado Dropkick in 0:20:46 Rating: ** 1/2
El Cheapo is drawing some serious heel heat. If you ever want to see entirely too much choking have Pinsir and Machoke fight Cheapo. One of those chokes finally draws a DQ. Cheapo finally tags out to a Conquistador and Hitmonlee finally gets into the match. He proceeds to kick the crap out of the Conquistadors but Cheapo sneaks in a low blow that the ref misses and that sets up a few submission attempts and finally the Tornado Dropkick to finish.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Japones (Kash Azumi, Kawajiri Takahashi and Saito Makahasi) beat Los Pokemon (Beedrill, Gengar and Koffing) 2 falls to 0: x Kawajiri beat Beedrill via a top-rope Frankensteiner in 0:01:47 x Makahasi beat Koffing via disqualification in 0:10:41 Rating: * 3/4
The match has barely begun when Takahashi tries to rip Beedrill's mask off. That puts Beedrill off his game and he gets worked over and finally hit with with a rana off the top. Beedrill managed to grab the ropes but the ref ignored it. Between the somewhat bogus pinfall and the mask ripping, the crowd gets really pissed at Takahashi. Second fall ends with Koffing take a beating from Makahashi but he kicks out of the Super Dragon Suplex. Koffing uses his special gas to knock out Makahashi but that draws a DQ. Referee Hernan Guerrero is not popular with the fans right now.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Ratoncitos (Poderoso Raton and Speedy Gonzalez) and Pikachu beat The Electric Head (Electric Head 1 and Electric Head 2) and Federale 2 falls to 0: x Pika beat Federale via a ropeflip moonsault in 0:09:28 x Pika beat EH 1 via a ropeflip moonsault in 0:12:51 Rating: ** 3/4
On the first fall when Speedy ducks a double clothesline from the Electric Head and comes back with a double clothesline of his own. This happens twice. Electric Head give up and give Federale a try and he pounds away but gets dropped with an Asai leg lariat. Pikachu hits the Electric Drop, but the Electric Head save. The Ratoncitos come in and keep them at bay so Pikachu can hit a moonsault and finally take the first fall. Second fall sees the rats work over the Electric Head with Pikachu finishing with a spinning backbreaker and another moonsault. Pikachu is over with the crowd and clearly moreso than the rest of the Pokemon.
Los Maniacos Bus Boys club wanted a rematch with Los Balisticos for the Tag Titles, but the rudos declared since they were so delayed in finally getting their shot that they would make Los Maniacos wait as well. However, they will agree to a trios match tonight. Balisticos get another crazy guy to be their third man while the Bus Boys get...a guy who acts like The Rock.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Balisticos (American Psycho and Crazy Ivan) and Caos beat Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club (Miguel Rosas and Cesar Lozano) and La Roca 2 falls to 1: x Lozano beat A. Psycho via the Granizo Cesar in 0:06:07 x Ivan beat Lozano via an airplane spin in 0:08:44 x Ivan beat Lozano via a backslide in 0:11:47 Rating: *** 1/2
Rosas gets pummelled by American Psycho but manages to kick out of the Ameriplex and tag out to La Roca. La Roca is surprisingly over with the crowd. He works over the rudos - mostly American Psycho - before tagging in Lozano who finishes the first fall. Second fall sees Crazy Ivan put Lozano in an airplane spin till he passes out. Ivan keeps hitting moves on Lozano and the rudos hit their finisher to take the match, but the tecnicos protest it was a fast count and amazingly Hernan Guerrero lets the match continue! But it doesn't really matter because Lozano is effectively dead at this point and despite efforts of his teammates he gets pinned anyway.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match El Mariachi and Tinebla Guerrera beat Los Nuevos Canadians (Colin MacKinnon and Mike Dale) 2 falls to 0: x Mariachi beat Dale via the Desperado Lariato in 0:08:11 x Mariachi beat Dale via disqualification in 0:12:30 Rating: **
Big brawl for most of the first fall, spilling out of the ring more than once. Second fall sees a ref bump. Mariachi gets powerbombed on a chair and the rudos pummel him but the ref wakes up and DQs the rudos. Mariachi is over big with the crowd.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Super Kings (Super King I, Super King II and Super King III) and El Bombastico beat Team Ultra (Ultra MEGA and Ultra MAX), Pirana and Astro Creep 2000 2 falls to 0: x SK III beat Ultra MEGA via a flying forearm in 0:11:50 x SK I beat Pirana via the Super King Rana in 0:19:04 Rating: ** 1/2
First fall sees no action for Bombastico or Pirana. Pirana gets in on the second fall but misses a frog splash and gets hit with a top rope rana. Pirana gets pissed and tries to fight with the Super Kings. Bombastico grabs Pirana's title belt and clocks him with it then hits the Bombastic Splash. Bombastico taunts Pirana's prone body - there's going to be no taking the high road for him.
Announced matches for the Tijuana Especial on July 3rd (more to come)... Title Match: Pirana vs El Bombastico Tag Titles Match: Los Balisticos vs Los Maniacos Bus Boys Club Trios Titles Match: Los Pentiums vs TBA

SOTBW #12 June 19, 1999 Tijuana, Mexico
El Culto de Zombi Blanco come to the ring to start things off. Astro Creep announces they have recieved a blessing from El Zombi Blanco. "Superbeast" by Rob Zombie fires up and out comes another strange luchadore. He announces himself as El Superbeasto. He brings word that it is time for El Culto de Zombi Blanco to put an end to Los Pokemon. He challenges them to a War Games match at the upcoming Tijuana Especial supercard.
All of Los Pokemon except Pikachu come out. They accept the rudos' challenge. And since they're all out at the ring anyway lets have a match!

Onix hit Sexorcisto with a rock.
[Random Lightning Match]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Kawajiri Takahashi pinned Mach 3 with the Kawajairisault in 0:08:38 Rating: ***
Return of the Random Lightning Match. The rules are simple: a random tecnico and rudo face off in a 10 minute 1 fall match.

This was a rematch after a trios match featured a whole lot of choking between Cheapo and Machoke. The problem is that by going no-DQ to allow chokes Cheapo's Tombstone finisher becames legal as well. Machoke may not be able to make that War Games match...
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match Los Pentiums (Pentium I, Pentium II and Pentium IV) and Pirana beat Los Super Kings (Super King I, Super King II and Super King III) and El Bombastico 2 falls to 0: x Pentium I beat Bombastico via disqualification in 0:07:14 x Pentium II beat Bombastico via disqualification in 0:07:41 Rating: * 1/2
Pentium I tossed the referee and Los Pentiums went to town on El Bombastico, savagely beating him 3-on-1. Baby Antonio DQ'd the rudos for tossing him and tried to resore order for the second fall, but Los Pentiums promptly tossed him right back out of the ring to draw a second DQ. Pirana joins in the beating, but Los Super Kings try to stop the rudos and we've got a big brawl in the ring.

what is the difference between the Campeon De Campeones Title & Mexican National Title? There isn't one - it's sloppy continuity on my part. Campeon De Campeons (Champion Of Champions) is the correct name for it.
