Yep, reading the schedule wrong. Good thing you brought that to my attention or you might have been waiting a long time for my next card.

Feedbackery~! Stream of conscious thoughts off of the top of my head as I read per always.
Awesome sounding tag team match to really get the show. Randy Savage is on track to be a super duper star really quickly and I for one approve.
Sold win for Garvin to keep him relevant.
Seems like Mr. Saito is going to do okay for himself but we'll see in the coming months.
Oh no, someone went back on their word...IN PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! Damn you Akbar. Surely such tomfoolery will be punished. And obviously as with any trophy, it is only inevitable that it will be destroyed. And something tells be Akbar will be back up as well and if Blackwell gets his hands around his neck...oh boy.
New champions and a great duo at that. Ventura and Adonis should be strapped in for the long haul.
A win for the Superstar, but that is merely the battle, as the war continues and the save is made. And that tag team match next month will be red hot.
Greg Gagne really tends to descend to a new level destroying his own father in such a matter. A man like this will be hated and obviously his momentum will translate into huge things for him.
The Hammer wins a quickie match, nothing more to say.
Match was rather short but damn was it heated. And that disqualification and the aftermath makes me want even more.
Main event and a pretty good one, with the King triumphing. In the end, the Piledriver is the one that seals the deal, as the King reigns atop of NWF for another show.
Rather good card ovehaul.

Results of NWF - Dallas, TX - 9/12/81:
INTERVIEW:
The show began tonight with Crusher Blackwell making his way to the ring. Noticeably absent was the Valentine’s Day Trophy that Skandor Akbar crushed with a sledgehammer back in August. Blackwell started by saying that Akbar was a lot like his father. He was taught by his father to never disappoint him, and he felt like he had disappointed Skandor. He asked for Akbar to come to the ring which Akbar did. Akbar was puffing away on his cigar as he entered the ring while the crowd let him have it. He shouldn’t even be in an NWF ring due to being on the losing side of a stipulation where he was banned from the National Wrestling Federation, yet here he was in the ring once more. Blackwell wanted to apologize to Akbar, but Akbar would have none of it as he called Crusher a fat slob who cost him his career all over some piece of trash trophy. Akbar said he should have known that Crusher didn’t have what it takes to be a star and should have put his focus on someone who actually had a lick of talent. Crusher allowed himself to be berated for a while before letting Akbar know, once again, that he is exactly like his father. Crusher said that the thing was that he didn’t much care for his father. With that Crusher lifted Akbar up off the ground and slammed him into the mat! The cigar flew out of Akbar’s mouth as Crusher bounced off the ropes and dropped nearly 500 pounds on to Akbar’s chest! Blackwell got back to his feet to a huge ovation from the crowd. He shouted that this one was for his trophy as he went up in the air again to deliver another Big Splash to Akbar’s ribs. Akbar was squashed in the center of the ring as Blackwell enjoyed the cheers from the crowd.
Akbar was scraped off the mat and helped to the back. The last word from him before he was thrown out of the building was that this was far from over, and he would be getting retribution even if he wasn’t the one to carry it out.
David Von Erich pinned Randy Savage after a back suplex in 0:10:22. Rating: *** ¼
The Von Erich Brothers were not too pleased with Randy Savage and Tommy Rich after last month’s match where Rich cheated to get the victory over them. David issued the challenge which was quickly accepted by the Macho Man. Savage has impressed a lot of people with his ability to match skills with whoever steps into the ring with him, and he was able to do that same thing against David Von Erich. He did get ahead of himself, though, towards the end of the match as he tried for the Flying Elbowdrop too early. David was able to avoid the move, drop Savage with a back suplex, and get the three count. David Von Erich offered his hand after the match to show Savage that there would be no more hard feelings. Savage looked like he was going to shake David’s hand, but instead pulled him into a lariat! David fell to the mat as Savage put the boots to him. Kevin Von Erich made the save for his brother before too much damage could be done. Savage’s intensity is off the charts, but if he keeps up with stuff like this, he is going to get himself in more trouble than he and Rich can handle.
Jim Brunzell pinned Jerry Estrada with the Brain Buster in 0:06:08. Rating: ** ½
“Jumping” Jim Brunzell was once again in singles action since Greg Gagne was suspended from competing in tonight’s show. Gagne has said he will speak to the crowd later on, but Brunzell couldn’t worry about that as he was going to have his hands full with Jerry Estrada. Estrada put up as much of a fight as can be expected, but Brunzell was able to get the win with the Brain Buster in short order. Brunzell was on the receiving end of an ovation of boos from the crowd which took him by surprise. Just his relationship to Gagne has led to him being one of the most hated men on the roster.
Roddy Piper defeated Buzz Sawyer when Buzz Sawyer passed out in the Sleeper in 0:06:48. Rating: ***
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper talks a big game, but people were beginning to doubt him after he avoided hooking up with Harley Race last month, instead deciding to knock Race silly with a steel chair. It became clear that Piper is not just a loudmouth, however, when he took “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer to school. Sawyer is as tough as they come, but Piper used his unique skillset to keep Sawyer off his game. He not only outbrawled Sawyer, but even threw in a few wrestling holds to keep Buzz guessing. Once Piper locked Sawyer in the Sleeper, there was no doubt that Piper was walking out of the arena tonight a winner.
The New Wave (Bobby Eaton and Sweet Brown Sugar) defeated Dirty Cowboys (Bob Orton Jr. and Dick Slater) when Eaton pinned Orton after a swinging neckbreaker in 0:11:58. Rating: *** ¾
With new World Tag Team Champions being crowned last month, every team is going to try and be the first ones to challenge for those titles. That was seen here by the competitiveness of this match. The New Wave and the Dirty Cowboys both knew whoever came out of this match victorious would be one step closer to getting a shot at the titles. Despite Bob Orton Jr. and Dick Slater controlling a majority of the match due to their cheating ways, Bobby Eaton was able to pull out a swinging neckbreaker from out of nowhere on Orton. Slater tried his best to break up the count, but Sweet Brown Sugar floored him with a dropkick, and it would be the New Wave getting their hands raised tonight. With this impressive victory behind them, they are now going to be at the front of the line for the next Tag Team Titles shot.
Greg Valentine pinned Mr. Saito after a double underhook suplex in 0:10:28. Rating: ** 1/4
Both of these men are known for being some of the hardest hitters there are in the NWF. Valentine even has been called The Hammer from his fellow wrestlers in the back. With both men trying to prove that they were the tougher man out there, we got a brawl like we hardly ever see. Neither man would give in to the other. Valentine was completely thrown off his game since no one has ever been able to withstand the shots he was sending Saito’s way. Luckily for Valentine, he is well trained in the technical side of wrestling, and so each time Saito would go for the Saito Suplex Valentine was able to counter it. The Hammer finally thought he was going to be able to put Saito away when he drilled him with the loaded kneepad off of a kneelift. Saito went down hard, but miraculously, within seconds he got back up to one knee. Saito was refusing to say down. Valentine was stunned, but did not let that get the better of him as he grabbed Saito with a double underhook before suplexing him to the mat. Valentine hooked both legs and Saito kicked out just a millisecond too late. Valentine was able to walk away with the victory here, but he had to have grown a new respect for Saito in the process.
East-West Connection (Adrian Adonis and Jesse Ventura) defeated Canadian Air (Lanny Poffo and Raymond Rougeau) when Adonis pinned L. Poffo after a Samoan Drop in 0:14:57. Rating: **** 1/4 (East-West Connection retained the NWF World Tag Team Titles.)
Canadian Air knew how long it took them to be crowned World Tag Team Champions the first time, and so they were not going to let this rematch against the East-West Connection just slide by. They came into the ring with a focus that guaranteed Jesse Ventura and Adrian Adonis were going to be in for a fight. The Tag Titles also put a new spark into Ventura and Adonis, it would seem, as they stuck in there against Rougeau and Poffo with quick tags and using their muscular advantage to try and keep Canadian Air grounded. This is a match that might be taken a close look at when the Championship Committee is determining the Match of the Year. With all of this non-stop action, it was only a matter of time before one of the teams made a mistake, and it was Lanny Poffo going for the Crucifix. The move usually works due to the surprise element, but Adonis was ready for him and planted him with a Samoan Drop. Adonis got the three count before Rougeau could even think about breaking up the pinfall. The East-West Connection are still champions and proved here that they are going to be hard to beat when those titles are on the line.
INTERVIEW:
Greg Gagne made his way to the ring. He is currently serving a suspension for his post-match attack on his father on our last show. He told the crowd that he was supposed to come out here and apologize to them, to his father, and to the NWF for his actions. He said he apologized for making them all bear witness to Verne Gagne’s pitiful attempt at trying to humiliate his son. Greg said that his father could not stand that he had accomplished more in his time in the NWF than Verne did in his whole career. Greg wanted to know from Verne how it felt to sacrifice Greg’s childhood just so he could be a failure as a father, a failure in wrestling, and a failure in life. He said he wanted to know, but he couldn’t ask since Verne was in a coma in some old folk’s home. Greg wanted everyone to know that from now on he is the only Gagne that matters. He is the best Gagne. And from now on he will be known as “The Great” Gagne! Gagne left the ring to a chorus of boos.
NWF officials wanted to suspend Gagne for another show after his lack of remorse for his actions against his father, but Canadian Air were able to convince the officials to instead sign a match between Canadian Air and the High Flyers for Austin, TX. You’ll remember that it was Verne Gagne that led Canadian Air to the Tag Team Titles, and they want to get some revenge for Verne on our next show.
Ron Garvin pinned Tommy Rich with the Hands of Stone Punch in 0:09:48. Rating: *
Our next match was a rather slow and plodding affair between “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and Ron Garvin. Rich did not want to go toe to toe with Garvin and instead decided to stall as much as possible. This annoyed the crowd quite a bit, but it did send the fans into an uproar when Garvin was finally able to get his hands on Rich. Rich realized he was in for a beating and things only got worse when he was locked in a full nelson. Rich decided it was time to try something different as he brought his leg back in an attempt at a low blow. Garvin released the full nelson, but he did not look hurt. Apparently Rich did not connect fully. Rich thought he had succeeded in outsmarting Garvin as he pointed to his brain. Rich turned around and walked right into the Hands of Stone Punch. Garvin got the three count as Rich laid there unconscious. Once Rich woke up he demanded a rematch with Garvin due to the unsportsmanlike conduct by Garvin, but due to what happened earlier tonight, there is going to be a six man tag in Austin featuring the Von Erich Brothers teaming with Ron Garvin against Tommy Rich, Randy Savage, and Mr. Saito.
Billy Graham and Paul Orndorff defeated Jack Brisco and Harley Race when Orndorff pinned Jack Brisco after a short clothesline in 0:13:15. Rating: ***
Both Billy Graham and Jack Brisco were allowed to choose their mystery partners here tonight. There was some slight confusion when Graham announced Paul Orndorff as his partner because Jesse Ventura and Adrian Adonis were already making their way down the aisle. They argued extensively with Graham about his choice, but Graham was not going to change his mind. Orndorff seemed a little out of his element, but reluctantly agreed to the team. But all of that was nothing compared to when Jack Brisco announced his partner, Harley Race! The crowd was shocked, but no one was more surprised than Race. Brisco said he had very few friends these days, but he wanted someone on his side with fewer than that. Race was the man he decided on because Race is only out for himself, and he knew that Race would not accept a loss on his record. Whatever his reason, it sure didn’t make Race any happier. In fact, during the match the only person that seemed pleased by what was going on was Billy Graham. Still, when you have four men like these in the ring at the same time, you are guaranteed something special. Graham and Race spent a majority of the match in the ring together, but Brisco and Orndorff got their shots in at one another as well. The crowd loved it when Orndorff and Race had an extended sequence in the ring together as well. The match was totally up in the air when RODDY PIPER made his way to the ring. Piper’s mere appearance was enough to have Race jump off the apron and chase him to the back. He was not going to let Piper screw up this match. The only problem was that it left Brisco alone in the ring with Orndorff and Graham. Brisco was just about to make a tag to Race when he realized that Race wasn’t there. Brisco turned around only to be met with the same clothesline that lost him the US Title. Orndorff made the cover and we had our winners.
After the match, Graham and Orndorff shook hands while Race raced back to the ring. With Graham and Orndorff leaving the ring, this left Race alone with Brisco. Brisco got back to his feet and berated Race for leaving him alone in the ring, but Race only took this for so long before knocking Brisco to the mat with a hard right hand. Race left the ring to cheers while Brisco tried to shake the cobwebs loose. Brisco was furious backstage that Race had embarrassed him like that and has demanded a match against Race.
Jerry Lawler pinned Ole Anderson after a flying fistdrop in 0:20:23. Rating: *** 1/2 (Jerry Lawler retained the NWF World Title.)
Ole Anderson put up such a great fight against Jerry Lawler on our last show that he was granted a rematch for the World Title. Ole knew that this might be his last shot for some time if he didn’t get the job done tonight, and so he pulled out all the stops to try and defeat Lawler. Lawler is extremely resilient, however, and he continues to show that it is going to be hard to take the title away from him. Nowhere was this more obvious than when Lawler was nearly driven through the mat courtesy of the Spinebuster Slam by Ole. Ole made the cover, but made the mistake of not hooking the leg. That one little error cost him as Lawler was able to put his foot on the bottom rope to stop the count. The match continued on, but it looked like that failed pinfall attempt took all the wind out of Ole’s sails. Minutes later Lawler was able to climb to the middle turnbuckle and smash Ole between the eyes with a fistdrop. Ole had nothing left and Lawler was able to walk out of the arena tonight still champion. Lawler has said he’s tired of beating Ole Anderson, and he’s going to issue an open challenge at our next show! That isn’t always the brightest idea as you never know just who is going to accept.

The image of the cigar flying out of Akbar's mouth while Crusher squashed him is hilarious. I wonder who Akbar is going to send after Crusher now.
Oooh, the ol' poor loser handshake-to-lariat bit. Classic. I like a feud with the Von Erichs to really elevate Savage. Even if the Von Erichs come out on top, it'll only make Macho look better.
You have to think that Brunzell won't deal with all of this collateral hate due to Greg Gagne being a crazy person.
PIPER! He needed to get a win, so nothing wrong with this. Plus, with the Race angle you did later in the show, their feud could take a backseat for tonight.
The New Wave would be a good first team to take on the East-West Connection given that they nearly became #1 contenders against Ventura/Adonis. But boy, the Dirty Cowboys are sure in a rut.
Gagne is going to incite a riot. He's molten right now.
If you're going to try to low blow someone, Rich, make sure you make full contact. Liked that as a finish, even if I'm not big on Garvin winning.
Great angle for the mystery partners. Orndorff being Graham's partner was predictable (though the swerve with the tag champs coming down was nice), but the reasoning for Brisco picking Race was good booking. He didn't want to be there, but he sure didn't want to lose either. Piper gets involved too and Race cuts him off, but leaves Brisco to be pinned. Race vs. Brisco should be a great old school wrestling match.
Another good showing for Ole, but it's not his time. Lawler gets some good title defenses under his belt to build momentum, but an open challenge is not a wise move.
Good show!

Dug the opening segment.
Brunzell needs to distance himself from Gagne somehow. Unless he doesn't mind the contact hate.
Always good to see Roddy Piper getting a victory.
REALLY looking forward to the Canadian Air vs. High Flyers match

Good to see Crusher get some payback on Skandor! Can't wait to see what you do with face Crusher.
Couple of tag wrestlers picking up singles wins - shows they have more than one career path. Piper trouncing Sawyer was also inevitable
Tag title scene is fierce in both GCW and NWF. I have no idea who should be the top contenders. At any given day, anyone can beat anyone, I think. I am not so sure that is a good thing though, but it works for now.
If the kneepad is known to be loaded, why doesn't the ref check it beforehand?
Great tag team match, hope you give the East-West Connection a nice run.
This Vegne family feud is really turning Greg into a star. I don't know your plans, but he could very well have a successful singles career from this point on.
I knew Graham would ask Orndorrf to be his partner, but am surprised to see Race as Brisco's. This probably means Race'll be busy with Brisco for a while. An EW Connection vs Graham/Orndorrf feud could be great, but the tag champs haven't been very heelish as of late either.
Oh. Open challenge. Something tells me you have someone coming in. Andre?
Hope this is the right feedback to the right promotion..

Results of NWF - Austin, TX - 10/3/81:
Buzz Sawyer pinned Jerry Estrada with the Powerslam in 0:06:29. Rating: ** ¾
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen either of these men were in the winner’s circle, but that isn’t to say that both of these men aren’t capable wrestlers. “Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer seemed especially determined here to pick up this match and poor Jerry Estrada couldn’t find his footing. The Powerslam would be the move that put a notch in Sawyer’s win column. After the match, Sawyer started to gnaw on Estrada’s leg but referee Isaac Madilla put a stop to that rather quickly.
Tommy Rich, Randy Savage and Mr. Saito defeated The Von Erich Brothers (David Von Erich and Kevin Von Erich) and Ron Garvin when Rich pinned R. Garvin after a front-layout suplex in 0:12:47. Rating: *** ½
You might think that Tommy Rich, Randy Savage, and Mr. Saito would be an odd pairing and you’d be correct. Rich and Savage needed a third to face off against a few men that they have upset over the past couple of months and Saito is the man they went to. The Von Erich Brothers have had some past wars with Saito so they were able to neutralize him somewhat. In fact, a lot of the match consisted of Kevin and David frustrating Saito and Savage with some amateur style wrestling. Rich had to work his best to keep them from going off the deep end. It was too much for one man to handle and a brawl soon erupted that led to Kevin and David exchanging fisticuffs with Saito and Savage on the outside. This left Rich alone with Garvin, something I’m sure he was not too happy about. Garvin proceeded to beat Rich into a corner, but was pulled off before he could do too much damage by referee Barney Sullivan. As Sullivan admonished Garvin, Rich quickly undid the top turnbuckle and removed the padding to expose the steel. Garvin had enough of Sullivan and pushed him out of the way, but Rich used a drop toe hold that sent Garvin’s face right into the steel buckle. Garvin was out on his feet, and Rich wasted no time in dropping him with a front-layout suplex to get the win. Rich got out of Dodge while Kevin and David continued to brawl with Savage and Saito. Apparently he knew he shouldn’t be there when Garvin woke up.
Garvin was furious when he awoke and demanded a match with Rich. Rich agreed to face off against Garvin again IF he could beat Randy Savage in San Antonio. Garvin signed off on the match, but he said he would have the Von Erich Brothers there to watch his back.
Crusher Blackwell pinned Ole Anderson with the Big Splash in 0:08:48. Rating: * ¼
Ole Anderson is coming off two straight World Title shots against Jerry Lawler, and you could tell he was exhausted. He tried his best against Crusher Blackwell, who was almost on a high after ridding himself of Skandor Akbar last month, but Ole just couldn’t handle the much larger man. The one saving grace for Ole was that Crusher has apparently turned his back on the dirty tactics he used to use nearly every match. He fought Ole fair and square, and this time it was Crusher coming out on top with the Big Splash.
After the match, Crusher Blackwell was getting his hand raised when a man with a megaphone entered the ring. This man called himself Jimmy Hart and claimed he was the nephew of Skandor Akbar. He said he was sent here to get revenge for Blackwell costing him his career. Blackwell grabbed a hold of Hart and told him that he was going to have a difficult time doing anything from the hospital. Hart told Blackwell that he was just as big of an idiot as Akbar said he was if he thought that he was going to be the one to do the actual deed. With that, two very large men entered the ring and clobbered Blackwell from behind. It took a second, but the fans soon realized that one of the men was BRUISER BRODY! The other was a very muscular black man, a man we were later told is “HACKSAW” BUTCH REED! Brody and Reed proceeded to lay a vicious beating onto Blackwell while Hart gave them orders via the megaphone. Things began to look bleak for Crusher when Brody drilled him with a boot to the face. Reed looked like he was going to try and do even more damage to Blackwell when Ole Anderson, who had been recuperating on the outside, reentered the ring with a chair! Ole swung the chair wildly, but it was enough to get Brody, Reed, and Hart to evacuate the ring. Ole even checked up on Crusher after he was sure that Hart had left ringside. Ole has distaste for injustice and it looks like he wasn’t going to let Crusher get injured while he was there. Despite facing each other tonight, these two men will team up against Jimmy Hart’s duo, a team he’s calling the Terrible Tandem, next month!
East-West Connection (Adrian Adonis and Jesse Ventura) defeated The New Wave (Bobby Eaton and Sweet Brown Sugar) when Adonis pinned Eaton after a flying axhandle in 0:17:39. Rating: *** 1/2 (East-West Connection retained the NWF World Tag Team Titles.)
The East-West Connection were able to hold onto their Tag Titles in the rematch with former champs Canadian Air last month, but there would be no rest for them as they had to prepare themselves for a defense against The New Wave. The New Wave have been very impressive since debuting in the NWF late last year, but this would be their biggest opportunity to date. They have been campaigning for a title match ever since they defeated the High Flyers way back in December of 1981, but this would be their first shot. And they looked like they were ready to take the tag titles the way they wrestled Jesse Ventura and Adrian Adonis. Adonis and Ventura have had their ways with the New Wave, but I don’t think they have ever seen them this focused. Sweet Brown Sugar almost put Adonis away with the Headbutt Trio, but Ventura was there to break it up. A minute or so later and Eaton connected with a swinging neckbreaker followed by the Alabama Jam onto Ventura, but Adonis was able to get into the ring and break that pinfall attempt up. Adonis and Ventura kept looking to the back for help, but no one came out to their rescue. It looked like they would be losing their titles when Eaton locked Adonis in a sleeper hold, but referee Alfred Neely got into some sort of argument with Sugar. This allowed Ventura to come off the top rope with a flying axhandle to the neck of Eaton. Adonis fell on top of Eaton and referee Neely never questioned how the momentum had changed. The East-West Connection were successful in their title defense, but it was just by the skin of their teeth. Ventura and Adonis were surprisingly irate as they grabbed their titles and exited the ring.
Dirty Cowboys (Bob Orton Jr. and Dick Slater) defeated Paul Orndorff and Billy Graham when Slater pinned Orndorff with the Piledriver in 0:09:51. Rating: ** ½
“Superstar” Billy Graham was so happy with Paul Orndorff and his victory against Harley Race and Jack Brisco last month that he petitioned for another tag match here in Austin. Orndorff, the US Champion, has been reluctant to accept Graham’s friendship, but he was once again paired up with him here. Dirty Cowboys have been on a bit of a slide as of late, but they did have the experience as a team to try and overcome the overwhelming abilities of Orndorff and Graham. That’s pretty much what we got here as Orndorff and Graham did a great job one on one with their opponents, but Bob Orton Jr. and Dick Slater took control when they were able to use teamwork. Things continued back and forth like this until the East-West Connection stormed down the aisle. Orndorff was in the ring so he did not appear to see them, but Billy Graham sure did. Graham hopped off the ring apron and started to argue with Ventura and Adonis. Apparently it was about Graham’s appearance or lack thereof in the Tag Titles match earlier. Orndorff noticed he didn’t have a partner on the apron around this time, and this led to an opening for the Cowboys. Orton and Slater double teamed Orndorff before Slater hit the Piledriver to get the three count. Graham saw what was happening, but Ventura and Adonis stood in his way to prevent the save. Graham was furious with Ventura and Adonis after the match, but they did not seem to care. Slater, meanwhile, has been granted a US Title match due to his pinfall over Orndorff even though it was a tag team contest.
Before our next match, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Jack Brisco came to the ring. Many people questioned why they were out there together, but it only took Piper a few seconds on the microphone to reveal their reasoning. Piper said that just like himself, Brisco knew what it was like to be abandoned by his partner. Piper reminded everyone that Race left Piper all alone to get beaten to a pulp by all the enemies Race had made, much like last month when Race left Brisco all alone against Billy Graham and Paul Orndorff. Piper knew that Brisco didn’t want any friends here in the NWF and neither did he. That’s why they were going to be colleagues in the total destruction of the fraud known as Harley Race. Race came out for his match with Brisco, but he looked a little preoccupied by the fact that Piper stuck around ringside for the match.
Harley Race pinned Jack Brisco with the Piledriver in 0:15:11. Rating: ** ¾
Harley Race’s attention wasn’t completely on Jack Brisco and that is something you just can’t do against a veteran like Brisco. Whenever Race would get the upper hand he would exchange words with Piper leading to Brisco taking back control of the match. Brisco kept taking Race to the mat and working over his leg to set it up for the Figure-Four Leglock. This would seem to work as Brisco got him locked in the hold in the center of the ring. Race fought as hard as he could to get to the ropes, but once he had and reached for the ropes, Piper was there to pull the bottom rope away from his grasp. This happened several times before referee Isaac Madilla spotted it and made Brisco release the hold. Brisco and Piper argued vehemently with the ref, but this allowed Race to regroup. Race came back a house of fire against Brisco before planting him in the center of the ring with the Piledriver to get the three count. As soon as he got back to his feet, he was nailed in the head with a steel chair by Piper. Race fell to the mat as Piper stood over him. Piper spat on Race to add insult to injury. Brisco came to and left the ring with Piper as Race lay motionless in the ring.
Canadian Air (Lanny Poffo and Raymond Rougeau) and The High Flyers (Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne) battled to a double countout in 0:04:23. Rating: ** ½
There are few men more hated in the industry right now than Greg Gagne or “The Great” Greg Gagne as he wants to be known as now. Gagne put his father, Verne Gagne, on the shelf permanently after dropping him with a Brain Buster on the concrete. The fans themselves wanted to get their hands on Gagne tonight, but Canadian Air would get that right. Verne took Canadian Air under his wing and led them to the Tag Team Titles, and they wanted Greg’s blood on their hands. It became clear pretty quickly that the ring was not going to hold these four men as they brawled around ringside. Referee Isaac Madilla could not control the match, and it only took a few minutes before he counted both teams out and ruled the match a draw. That did not stop these four men and soon all four were bleeding from open wounds. Greg Gagne and Raymond Rougeau both were swinging chairs at one another but simply crashing them together while Poffo tossed Brunzell into the guardrail. Numerous officials had to come down to the ring to break them up, but it was clear that this was not over. The NWF Championship Committee is hoping to put an end to this feud once and for all as they have signed a match for San Antonio between the two teams. But to try and control things and keep the match in the ring, it will be held inside the confines of a steel cage! And the only way to win will be to be the first team to escape the cage!
And we still had Jerry Lawler’s open challenge! Lawler came out and said he was sick and tired of beating up Ole Anderson and Harley Race, and that he wanted someone new to challenge for his World Title. Lawler did not get very far before Greg “The Hammer” Valentine walked down the aisle to a huge ovation! Lawler backtracked immediately, saying that he wanted someone new to challenge him, not some guy he spent the better part of a year beating to a pulp a couple of years ago. Valentine told Lawler that next time he better be a little more clear on his open challenges because he just got himself in a whole lot of trouble. Lawler finally accepted the match but somehow convinced referee Barney Sullivan that this would not be for the World Title since he did not have an appropriate amount of time to prepare. Uhh, it’s an open challenge, Jerry.
Non-Title Match: Greg Valentine pinned Jerry Lawler with the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:14:44. Jerry Lawler suffered a back injury. He will be out for approximately 2 months. Rating: ** ½
In case anyone had any doubts that Greg Valentine may not be able to stand toe to toe with a World Champion, this match showed that they were wrong. Valentine bounced Lawler from one side of the ring to the other with crushing elbows and chops to the chest. Lawler continually begged off, but Valentine would have none of it. It looked like Lawler would be utterly humiliated in this match until he saw an opening and poked Valentine in the eye. Lawler went to work from there, raking Valentine’s forehead against the ropes, clawing at Valentine’s back, and trying to choke the life out of The Hammer. For some reason Lawler decided to go completely out of his usual bag of tricks and climbed to the top rope. Valentine caught him before he could sail off, however, and threw Lawler off with a big slam. Lawler appeared to have tweaked something in his back as he was very slow to get back to his feet. This opened him up to a high knee from Valentine that knocked Lawler to the mat. Valentine locked Lawler in the Figure-Four Leglock which made the crowd go crazy. Lawler held on for as long as he could before suffering so much pain that he had a mental lapse and let his shoulders drop to the mat just long enough for a three count!
Valentine was ecstatic as he got his hand raised. Referee Sullivan went to hand Lawler his title, but Valentine ripped it out of his hands and raised it above his head to a huge cheer from the crowd. Valentine continued to celebrate with the title like he had won it, but Lawler’s last second decision to make it a non-title match saved him. That’s not going to work next month though, as he is going to have to defend it against Valentine!

Woo! One of us finally got finished! Is that a Buzz Sawyer win? Well I'll be damned. He finally won another match - he deserved to chew on Estrada's leg. Good to see Rich's cheating spotlighted again. It was part of what made him such a fun US champion. A singles feud with Garvin could be just what Garvin needs to interest me. He seems like such a serious dude - a good foil to Rich's shenanigans. I see what you were doing with the nephew stuff you PM'ed me about. I'm completely okay with this. Brody & Reed sounds like a bad ass team too. I also like "Terrible Tandem. It's such a cheesy 80s name that it works perfectly. We need a little cheese in this universe. That being said, I'm surprisingly okay with Crusher going face for awhile. Looking forward to this. Glad EW-Connection went over, and I like the budding tension with Graham. I'm still not 100% convinced one way or the other if Graham is going face or heel, but I like this ambiguity. Graham sure is working hard to earn Orndorff's trust... makes me think something is up. I predict... um... Orndorff's going to get double crossed. I like the Piper/Brisco partnership a lot. The reasoning is solid, and with the focus on friendship in Piper's interviews, specifying that they are strictly business colleagues is a great touch. Race wins, but once again gets knocked the f out, steel chair style. Dude's going to have a concussion problem. That tag match fell apart in a hurry. This is a great blood feud. Also, LOVE "The Great" Greg Gagne. Triple G! The cage match is going to be awesome. Greg Valentine! I had my thoughts that it might be him, and I'm glad I was correct. He's a great as the next big challenger. The first one I can see maybe winning the title. The injury to Lawler isn't ideal, but it's short enough that he could probably work through it. I have one more match to write... we'll see.

An Akbart/Hart relationship is something that could turn out to be useful later or forgotten if needed.
It was between Terrible Tandem and Terrible Twosome. I liked Tandem better. Twosome sounded too cutesy.
I figure Race is the type of guy that would have a lot of concussions throughout his career.
Lawler will be out for two cards, but I didn't figure that was enough to strip him of the title.
Thanks for the comments, Ryan. Hopefully I can stay up late enough to see your card posted.

Haha, he gnawed on his leg.
exchanging fisticuffs. not enough people use the word fisticuffs.
Jimmy Hart! Woo! Bruiser Brody! Love seeing him. Net month's tag match should be interesting.
Always good to see a victory from Adonis & Ventura, even if it was as close as it was. A win is a win is a win.
Race reaps what he sows.
A steel cage is just what Canadian Air and the High Flyers need. It should make for a great match and a definite winner.
Tough break with Lawler. He managed to save himself from losing the title, but wonder how the injury is going to play out in the title match at the next card.
Great stuff, sir

Bruiser Brody is back! Well, back in this universe - I think we last saw him a few years ago with a brief stint in GCW? In a tag team with Butch Reed and managed by Jimmy Hart is a combination I would not have guessed.
Lawler hurts his back, but still has to defend against Valentine? Ouch. I could see Valentine taking the title here, even if only temporarily. He's been built up pretty well in this universe as a serious contender, with or without a loaded kneepad.

Results of NWF - San Antonio, TX - 10/28/81:
Mr. Saito pinned Jerry Estrada with the Saito Suplex in 0:05:37. Rating: *** ½
Tonight marked the first show from the National Wrestling Federation in San Antonio, Texas. It kicked off with a bang as Mr. Saito suplexed Jerry Estrada from one side of the ring to the other before finishing him off with the Saito Suplex. Saito looked rather pleased with himself for a job well done. Saito met up with “Wildfire” Tommy Rich and “Macho Man” Randy Savage on the way back up the aisle. Rich tried to convince Saito to join him at ringside for the next match, but Saito pointed at Savage and twirled his finger around his head as if to say Savage was a little bit too cuckoo for his tastes. Apparently their partnership from last show was a one-time deal.
Ron Garvin pinned Randy Savage after a side suplex in 0:07:34. Rating: ** ¾
Mr. Saito may have been right about his opinion of Randy Savage, but that doesn’t make him any less capable of a wrestler. Savage has been able to funnel that intensity, what some people would call craziness, into the ring and his matches. Ron Garvin had his hands full from the minute the bell rang, but he knew he had to get past Savage to get his hands on Tommy Rich next month. Garvin also knew that Rich would be a problem at ringside so he brought the Von Erich Brothers down to ringside with him, and it turned out that it saved him the match. Rich distracted the referee numerous times which allowed Savage to cheap shot Garvin here and there. You could tell that this was frustrating not just Garvin but also Kevin and David Von Erich. Garvin had just pushed Savage into the corner when Rich got up on the ring apron to once again distract the ref. Savage poked Garvin in the eye and climbed up to the top turnbuckle to deliver a flying axhandle. Savage perched himself up there, but Kevin had different plans as he pushed Savage off! Savage crashed to the mat just as Rich hopped off the apron. Garvin pointed at Rich before dropping Savage with a big side suplex. It turned out that it was just enough to get the three count. After the match, both Von Erich Brothers joined Garvin in the ring. They motioned for Rich to join them in the ring, but Rich hightailed it out of there. That left Savage alone. David lifted Savage up and hurled him over the top rope and to the outside. The Von Erich’s celebrated with Garvin for him earning another one on one match with “Wildfire” Tommy Rich.
East-West Connection (Adrian Adonis and Jesse Ventura) defeated The New Wave (Bobby Eaton and Sweet Brown Sugar) when Ventura pinned Sugar after a lariat in 0:16:53. Rating: *** 3/4 (East-West Connection retained the NWF World Tag Team Titles.)
Last month the New Wave came close to winning the World Tag Team Titles from the East-West Connection. If it wasn’t for Jesse Ventura capitalizing on a distraction to the referee, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton and Sweet Brown Sugar might be tag champions today. Because of how close the match ended up being, the New Wave were granted a rematch. These two teams have met multiple times throughout this year, and every time the match is close. This would be no different as it went back and forth with Ventura and Adonis trying to slow the match down, but Eaton and Sugar picked up the pace whenever they could. This time Adonis and Ventura were not looking to the back for help from Billy Graham and it almost seemed to help them since they know that they only could rely on one another. The match would come down to Adonis and Sugar crisscrossing in the ring. Adonis made a tag to Ventura on one rebound from the ropes that Sugar never saw. Ventura blindsided Sugar with a vicious lariat as he and Adonis continued to run against the ropes. The move caught Sugar so off guard that he was unable to kickout before the count of three. Ventura and Adonis celebrated with their titles while Eaton and Sugar are going to have to regroup. Unfortunately, this would not be the last we saw of the East-West Connection tonight.
Roddy Piper defeated Harley Race when Race passed out in the Sleeper in 0:15:29. Rating: ** ½
The time for running was over as “Rowdy” Roddy Piper was finally going to stand in the ring against Harley Race. Piper made sure he was going to use anything he could to turn this match to his favor as he was accompanied to the ring by Jack Brisco. Brisco was not a happy man when Race abandoned him in a tag team match to chase after Piper. Ever since then Piper and Brisco have formed some sort of bond over their hatred for Race. But Piper would be alone in this match and he was going to have his hands full. Race didn’t even let the bell ring before he attacked Piper. Piper is one of the best brawlers in the sport today, but Race caught him right out of the gates and wouldn’t allow him to fight back. Piper tried his best, but Race was just all over him. This wasn’t the technical wrestling that we are used to seeing out of Race. Instead we saw a side of him that wanted to take a pound of flesh from Piper’s hide. That isn’t to say that Piper didn’t have his moments as he tackled Race to the mat and pounded away at him several times. It just didn’t seem to do much good however as Race would find that inner flame again and fire right back at him. As the match wore on it looked like Race would eventually be walking out of the arena victorious. That is until Race pushed Piper into the corner. Unfortunately for referee Alfred Neely, that is exactly where he was standing. Neely went down hard as Race pounded on Piper in the corner. This was the moment that Brisco was looking for as he entered the ring. Race saw it coming however, and he blasted Brisco with several European Uppercuts! One last shot sent Brisco flying over the top rope and to the floor, but this allowed Piper to grab him from behind and lock in the Sleeper. Despite Race’s best efforts to break the hold, he was unable to do so and soon fell unconscious. Referee Neely woke up at this opportune time and called for the bell to signal the end of the match. Piper was ecstatic with his victory, but this is far from over between Race and him.
Paul Orndorff pinned Dick Slater with the Piledriver in 0:06:28. Rating: *** 1/4 (Paul Orndorff retained the NWF United States Title.)
“Dirty” Dick Slater was able to use a distraction from the East-West Connection earlier this month to get a pinfall over the US Champion in tag team action. Due to that, the Championship Committee granted Slater’s request for a title shot here in San Antonio. Even if they hadn’t, Orndorff probably would have demanded the match himself as he does not take losses lightly. Slater was not accompanied to the ring by “Cowboy” Bob Orton Jr. which seemed odd at the time, but we later found out the reasoning behind it. Regardless, the match kicked off at a fast pace as Slater jumped Orndorff before the bell. Slater tried his best to maintain that advantage, but Orndorff was able to show that he can absorb quite a bit of damage and still come back to win a match, this time with the Piledriver.
Paul Orndorff was handed his US Title after the match, but as he was getting his hand raised, the East-West Connection ambushed him from behind! The World Tag Team Champions put the boots to Orndorff as he tried to cover up to no avail. This went on for some time until “Superstar” Billy Graham sprinted down to the ring. Graham tore both men off of Orndorff, but the damage had already been done. Adonis told Graham that maybe now he could put his attention back on his true friends. Ventura and Adonis left as Graham checked on the fallen US Champion. Orndorff was furious when he finally awoke, pushing Graham away, and demanding a match with the East-West Connection. He will get it in Houston next month as he’ll defend his title against Jesse Ventura.
INTERVIEW:
Our next match was scheduled to be our World Title defense with Jerry “The King” Lawler facing Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, but when Lawler came to the ring he was wearing a back brace. Lawler said that due to Valentine’s thuggish ways he was injured in their match last month. He also claimed it was due to him being such a fighting champion that he hasn’t taken the necessary time off to heal from all of his nagging injuries. He provided a doctor’s note that said he would be unable to compete. Referee Isaac Madilla checked it and nodded his approval that it was legit. Lawler said he hated to do this to all of his fans in Texas, but he had found a suitable replacement. Greg Valentine made his way down to the ring at this time, and he looked like he was about to rip Lawler to shreds. Valentine grabbed the doctor’s note from Madilla’s hands and tore it into pieces, apparently not believing it for one second. It looked like Valentine was going to go after Lawler next when Bob Orton Jr. slid into the ring and attacked him. We apparently had our replacement.
Greg Valentine pinned Bob Orton Jr. after a kneelift in 0:08:32. Rating: *** ½
The crowd was not happy with Orton replacing Lawler in this match and neither was Valentine. Once Valentine was able to shake the cobwebs loose from Orton’s attack, he took control of the match with his powerful chops and elbows. Orton tried his best to fight back, but Valentine had prepared himself for a World Title match tonight, and Orton was not quite up to meet the challenge. Valentine would finish him off with the dreaded kneelift that puts to use the loaded kneepad. As soon as the bell rang, Lawler was in the ring and clobbering Valentine. Lawler dropped Valentine with the Piledriver to put him fully out of commission. It became pretty clear that he wasn’t THAT injured. Lawler wasn’t done. He removed the kneepad from Valentine’s body and headed to the back. Whatever he wanted with that was unclear, but he said that it would help show why Valentine will never get a World Title shot. He will reveal all in Houston next month.
Terrible Tandem (Bruiser Brody and Butch Reed) defeated Crusher Blackwell and Ole Anderson when B. Reed pinned O. Anderson with the Full Impact in 0:10:23. Rating: * ½
Ole Anderson and Crusher Blackwell make for an odd pairing, but Anderson was not going to just stand by and let Jimmy Hart and his Terrible Tandem put Blackwell out of wrestling on last month’s show. Anderson saved Blackwell from the beating, and in doing so, put him right in the crossfire of this feud. This was Bruiser Brody’s and Butch Reed’s first match here in the NWF, but they were not out to impress anyone. They were simply out here to try and put Blackwell on the shelf. It showed in the match as it wasn’t overly pretty, but you could have predicted that you wouldn’t get much technical wrestling in a match like this. Jimmy Hart was on the outside shouting his orders through his megaphone, and he came close several times to getting into a fight with some fans at ringside due to his obnoxious shouting. And just because Brody and Reed hadn’t teamed together in the NWF didn’t mean they weren’t a little bit more comfortable together. In fact, Ole and Crusher just never seemed to gel and it led to Ole Anderson getting drilled with the Full Impact, a tag team maneuver that was extremely impressive. Brody lifted Ole onto his shoulders so Reed could sail off the top rope with a diving shoulderblock. The crowd was in shock at just how devastating a move that is. Needless to say, Ole wasn’t kicking out of that.
After the match, Brody and Reed continued to attack Ole Anderson at the orders of Hart. Crusher Blackwell was not going to let this stand as he sent Brody and Reed flying with rights and lefts. Brody and Reed kept trying to attack Blackwell, but he stood his ground. Jimmy Hart appeared to have lost his mind when even he tried to get involved. This only led to Blackwell grabbing Hart by the jacket. It looked like Blackwell was going to nail him with a right hand when a GIANT of a man stepped over the top rope and nailed Blackwell. Blackwell collapsed to the mat, but this huge man was not done as he pulled Blackwell to his feet before lifting him up and bodyslamming him back down to the mat! There are only two men in wrestling that could accomplish such a feat as that and the man in the ring isn’t Andre the Giant – it’s BIG JOHN STUDD! Studd picked Hart up and left alongside the Terrible Tandem as Blackwell and Ole lay motionless.
Cage Match: Canadian Air (Lanny Poffo and Raymond Rougeau) defeated The High Flyers (Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne) by escaping the cage in 0:31:29. Rating: **** ½
Everyone expected this cage match to be brutal, and it sure didn’t disappoint. Canadian Air and the High Flyers are two teams that are never going to like one another. In fact, they’d probably face each other every night if allowed to. And things have only gotten worse between them since “The Great” Greg Gagne put his father, Verne, in the hospital. Tonight was the night that they would hopefully settle the score, and there is no way better to do than to face off in a fifteen foot high steel cage match. The only way for a team to win would be for both members of the team to escape. It only took a few minutes of action before it became a donnybrook with all four men battling it out. There would be no tags here. The cage came into player pretty quickly as all four men took turns tasting the steel. It wasn’t long before both Brunzell and Poffo were busted wide open. None of the men were backing down from one another, and it was really hard to tell just who was getting the better of it. Several times during the match all four men would be on their hands and knees trying to get the energy to get back to their feet. It finally looked like Canadian Air was on their way to victory as Raymond Rougeau climbed over the top of the cage and down to the floor. The only problem was that it left Lanny Poffo all alone in the ring with Jim Brunzell and Greg Gagne. Gagne and Brunzell tore Poffo apart as Rougeau tried to cheer him on. Poffo was having no luck, however, as whenever he would knock one of the High Flyers to the mat, the other would quickly put an end to his momentum. It became clear to Rougeau what he had to do and he pulled off the highlight of the match as well. Rougeau climbed back to the top of the cage before flying off with the Rougeau Bomb, nailing Brunzell directly in the jaw!
Both Rougeau and Brunzell were done for at this point, lying in the center of the ring with Brunzell bleeding all over. Poffo was also a crimson mask and it didn’t make matters any better when Gagne tossed him into the cage once again. This time it was Gagne that decided to climb up and over the cage. Gagne hit the floor and raised his arms in victory. Too bad Brunzell was still in the ring. Poffo and Rougeau recuperated and went back to working over Brunzell as Gagne watched on. It became pretty clear that Brunzell was not going to be able to break free from Canadian Air to escape and win the match. Gagne looked like he was about to climb back up the cage when instead he threw his hands up in the air like he was done with this match. Gagne headed to the back just as Brunzell was thrown into the cage once more. Poffo and Rougeau had done enough damage that they both climbed up and out of the cage. When both men’s feet hit the floor they were announced as the winners! What a hard fought victory for Canadian Air! Jim Brunzell was sure to have some questions for Gagne, but tonight belonged to Canadian Air!

10/28/81 = I've now been born in the GCW universe! No Andre, but Big John Studd is a good 80s name to bring in. Big win for Piper to beat Race, even with the interference. Looks like the High Flyers are done. Greg's ego wasn't going to let him stay in a tag team for much longer anyway.

Glad to see Saito keep getting wins. Now let's see if we can't get him in a feud. Don't like Garvin beating Savage, but given the context of the feuds, I guess it makes sense. Doesn't mean I have to be happy about it though. It was still a good match, but I'm happy to see the EW-Connection get a decisive tag title defense. Eaton/Sugar will be here again, but right now is not their time. Ventura & Adonis getting the title reign they should have gotten 2 years ago. Piper absolutely had to get that win for this feud to go anywhere, so I'm glad to see it go down as it did. The interference is acceptable as it fits Piper and Brisco, but the win is huge. I still miss Piper. The plot thickens with Orndorff and Graham. I'm still torn on what side Graham is going to take, but the tag champs have made it clear where they stand. Good way to work around Lawler's injury. I would have been pissed to be in the live crowd, but it sets up the title match that is coming nicely. I could see Valentine walking away with the gold at the end of this feud. Terrible Tandem had to win as they have to be established right away. Couldn't expect much more from Crusher and Ole as a team than we got. And now, Big John Studd? That's a formidable group to say the least. Great main event, and fitting that those two teams closed out the show. It's crazy to think of where the Flyers & Canadian Air were when you first debuted those teams and where they are now. Not to stroke your ego too much, but I think your greatest accomplishment in this universe so far is turning these two teams into arguably the top 2 teams in the universe. It's bittersweet that it looks like this is the start of the High Flyers, but Gagne should have a great singles career.

Liller:
Now that you're born, Liller, I might have to hire you as a valet at some point.
Andre was already brought in at the tail-end of last year. It's Studd's turn to get some air time.
Ryan:
Savage hasn't quite made the move from low mid-card to upper mid-card. Garvin needs some wins, and I was hoping Savage would give him at least a decent match.
Piper is my favorite addition of this year.
I figured I'd put on Lawler/Valentine/Orton earlier in the card so as not to cause a riot.
Brody, Reed, and Studd are not a trio I'd want to meet in a dark alley.
Thanks for the compliments on Canadian Air and the High Flyers. The Flyers were a bland team that I planned on being the jobbers of the tag division, and Canadian Air were supposed to be a plucky team that would win a few matches here and there, but were mostly foil for the heel teams to beat on. I love it when things don't go exactly as planned because you see something else in them as you're booking.
Thanks for the comments, guys.

Austin, Tx Glad to see Rich pick up a win. I feel that my PWI predictions about Rich haven't quite panned out Akbar didn't waste a lot of time bringing in both a new manager and some cronies. Brody was in GCW, right? Tag team ranks look even hotter now than ever. East-West looks like they'll be hanging on to the tag team belts for a while, but it was a good showing by the New Wave. I guess this tilts the EW Connection into the "heel" column, but I don't think they're the most heelish team in tag team history. Easy to turn them, then. Oh... I guess they're separating from Graham too. Really starting to love the Race/Piper feud. Piper's such a menace on the mic. I predict Gagne to go solo after the cage bout (which they'll lose). He has too much momentum to be "trapped" in a tag team (no offense Brunzell), and you definitely have enough tag teams without the High Flyers as well. What a weasel Lawler is. Wait, he got injured? Then he'll probably weasel his way out of next month's title defense too. San Antonio, Tx (Quick feedback here as I'm rushing to an appointment) That's probably the last shot New Wave gets in a while. Hope they don't fall completely out of the top ranks. Being left to fend for himself in a tag match is perhaps not the strongest reason for a blood feud, but you have built Brisco up as a bitter old veteran, so I think it's ok. Don't expect him to be too violent against Race though. Big win for Piper anyway, I think he'll be a major player here very soon (and the PWI for this year might just well reflect that). Slater may have deserved that US Title shot, but he sure didn't last that long. Maybe he should stick to the tag ranks. I like the slowly built tension between the EW Connection, Graham and Orndorrf. It has been going on for quite some time, but it has been nicely built. Yup, Lawlers "weasels" his way out of the title match - but it's legit though. Maybe you could show Valentine your TNM log? Haha, he stole his kneepad Big John Studd!! Incredible. I smell a bodyslam challenge with Andre coming up before soon. Hart has really a terrible squad assemble already. It surely is bad tactics leaving the cage without your partner - and tonight showed why. Still, it builds further on the fact that Gagne needs to be a singles competitor.

Mr. Saito with the win. Always have a soft spot in my heart for Japanese wrestlers. Again, good to see the East-West Connection continue to win. Me likey Nice win for Piper. Brisco gets the assist, but it's Piper dude. Piper. An expected result in the United States title match, but it was a good one. That defense against Ventura will be a toughie. That dastardly Lawler. Can't wait to see what he says in Houston. Woo! Big John Studd! He was one of m favorites in the little old school circuit I was running a couple months ago. Glad to see him here. Excellent main event, sir. Studd/Blackwell should be entertaining at the next show. Who behemoths dukin' it out. Great stuff.

Thank you for the comments, guys.
Surprised that it wasn't known the EW Connection were heels this whole time. I don't think they have been portrayed as faces ever in the NWF. Guess I'm not doing my job.
I like Brisco as the bitter, old veteran. Don't know if it's getting over or not, but I like writing him.
I hope that Studd gets over in his run here. Plus, he is easier to use than Andre.
Great to see Piper getting over.
Thanks, Mamushi and Rey.
