What the hell is up with Chris Jericho's return on RAW? Dramatic entrance, spends 8 minutes working the crowd, leaves without really saying anything more than a few "Yeah baby!"'s. Weird.

I think it's great. It actually has me interested. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure it's the start of him being a heel.

Obviously the followup will be important, but I thought it was borderline brilliant. He turned the crowd on him without saying a word. They all wanted him to pander and he refused with an over-the-top cheesy mocking of them.

Speaking of returns, when was the last time a guy returned from a decently long hiatus and was immediately booed by the crowd? I'm not talking about a guy coming out to cheers, beating up a face, and then being booed. Anymore returns are always cheered even if the guy left as the most over heel in the company.
Only one that keeps popping into my head is Yokozuna's return at WMXI to team with Owen Hart against the Smoking Gunns. I know there has to be a ton more, but I'm drawing a blank.

I don't remember the return specifically, so might need a refresher, but I remember The Rock was the heel in his match with Goldberg. I don't remember though if he was cheered and then turned or was booed off the bat. I'd imagine the former.

The Rock had already returned two months earlier, though. And he was initially cheered, before he delved into heel territory by blasting the also-recently-returned Hulk Hogan.
The most recent example I can think of is John Bradshaw Layfield, and that was just last year. Yeah, he kind of had an unfair advantage as he was being introduced as Michael Cole's handpicked referee for his Wrestlemania match with Jerry Lawler, but there wasn't even a momentary "welcome back" pop for JBL; he started getting booed as soon as his music hit. He didn't even attack anyone before getting the Stone Cold Stunner.
Crush in 1996 qualifies, I think, though it's possible the fans just didn't recognize him because his appearance had changed significantly since he was last seen. Mark Henry in 2006 probably qualifies, too; he did show up to attack a babyface (Batista), but he took his sweet-ass time doing it and he was definitely getting booed from the moment he showed up.

Then again, not many people like JBL as a wrestler to begin with. I think the same will happen when/if Khali returns.

Funny idea I heard for Jericho: he's the 30th entrant into the Rumble tomorrow, but he spends so long showboating and working the crowd that by the time he gets to the ring everyone else has already been eliminated (last 2 guys go out together), allowing Jericho to win without doing anything.

That'd be funny, but man, I hope not. Not when I'm going to be there live.

Something is going on with Jericho. I'm not sure what'll happen, but it has to be pretty big.
I predict he does or doesn't win.

I never saw the Rumble, but I read a report. So I want to know, did Khali get boo'd, a pop or dead silence?
EDIT: Found a clip. He got a small pop.. But not like the usual one for a returning superstar.

Yeah, it was pretty small. Truthfully, I kind of had forgotten he was on the shelf for the past few months. I have a soft spot for giants in wrestling, but Khali is terrible.

Yeah, wasn't a massive pop. Pretty forgettable next to the pops that Road Dogg, Duggan, and Kharma got. Hell, Ricardo got a great reaction and even a "RICARDO!" chant in the arena.

Yeah, we heard that on TV. Ricardo is so over. Too bad that there aren't very many guys with that much charisma with a decent body. I swear, if he was built like Alberto Del Rio I bet he'd be pushed to the moon.

Yeah, Khali is like the modern day El Gigante to me. He did have an OK run in Japan and is a little better than what the WWE books him as, but he's still pretty awful.
