Hi guys (and any gals out there) ~
I have been an on again off again member of this community for several years now. Outside of facebook and my online classes, this is the only other place in cyberspace that I socialize.
Yesterday afternoon, my son partially amputated his right pinkie finger with a pocket knife. He is six, and we are simply not sure how he got his hands on this knife. We recently bought my wife's grandfather's house, and a lot of his stuff is still floating around, and this one slipped through the cracks.
He is ok. He went through two surgeries to repair extensive damage to the bone (cleaved cleanly in two), tendons and nerves. He completely severed one of the two blood vessels in the pinkie and that is beyond repair.
Needless to say, my wife and I have been quite the mess of emotions over the past two days.
I covet your prayers and good thoughts during the next few weeks of recovery.
And, to explain my subject line, tonight I am going to use TNM as therapy. I have four weeks of BACW results ready to go. So I am finally going to get around to expanding on that story. I am glad that some of you have taken the time to read and I am grateful that you find it entertaining. I have plenty of story to lay out over the next several posts, and I am hoping that for a night at least, I can focus on something other than the pain my son is in.
Thank you all for including me in this community.

We're glad to have you here, bud. Sorry to hear about your son. That doesn't sound like it would be much fun at all. But as a guy who is missing a ton of fingers, he'll be fine. It's rough now, but he's going to have a baller story later on in life. Sending good vibes your way.

I'm really sorry about your son. I don't have much to add as I don't know what it's like to have a son or to lose a finger, but I have a feeling that the pain your son has been through is far worse than the actual loss of the finger.
I've used TNM a lot for my own therapy. Some personal issues creep up now and again, and TNM is always there to help take my mind off of things. I know that without it I would have had some painful times the past few years. They've still been painful, but the distraction is nice.
Oh, and I'll most definitely be praying for him.

I can relate with this. I'm on sabbatical from school, am facing a surgery that will limit my activities for a good 3-4 weeks, and dealing with one of our family cats having lymphoma. He's going through chemotherapy and even then we'll be lucky if we buy him an extra year. I know, it sounds a bit silly, but both our cats are like family members and this one is especially attached to me. All that means I'm going to be around the house quite a bit with some time to partake in my hobbies. I formally started planning my next circuit and will be posting it on here. It's basically the same idea as the last circuit I ever posted (which can be found here if you're curious: www.tnm7.de/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.cgi?board=tnmcircs;action=display;num=1229800645.) I've got my roster set and have a general idea with what I want to do with my initial cards. I just need to come up with some names for stables I've got planned and then I'll be getting to it. I've been wanting to get another circuit going so in a way I am fortunate to have a little downtime to finally get around to it. I'm not a prayer guy, but I certainly hope your son is able to recover as best as can be expected. I mean, the Yakuza cut off pinkies all the time so he is in the company of some major bad asses.

Ouch. Best wishes for your son's recovery.
Like many forms of art, TNM can be a good way to get away.
