*Yes, this circuit is called ACES (Associated Collective Entertainment Syndicate)* *Much thanks to Snabbit, and any others who might not have known they have contributed. This is in no way a competition, but a way for me to get associated with an era of pro wrestling I was never too fond of* An Ace Up The Sleeve December 31, 1974 In a very unorthodox move in the world of professional wrestling, a sport seen by many as phony and uncouth, actually earns airtime on one of the world's most watched programs about sports, ABC's “WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS.” Why? For what reason? That would become clear when Howard Cosell himself, a self-confessed fan of wrestling announces that the biggest territorial wrestling company in the world has been bought out; the “National Wrestling Alliance” (NWA) has been bought by a company known as “SBI HOLDINGS.” The two majority owners, Hunter A. Smith, and Benjamin E. Baron, have expressed that they would make some changes, but not so many that would drive away fans. They want the fundamentals to stay the same, and want to create something that can expand beyond what the NWA has created. During this interview with Cosell, they revealed the changing name to the “Associative Collective Entertainment Syndicate” (ACES) Smith and Baron plan to retain a 13 man Board of Directors, whom will each have an option to open up a territory/promotion with their financial backing at some point in the near future The duo revealed a one-night 16-man single elimination tournament to crown the first ACES World Heavyweight Champion. The two refused to announce the participants due to wanting to build suspense. This event would take place from Westbury, Long Island at the famed Roosevelt Raceway. The duo then revealed that their events will be showcased on ABC and revealed their commentating team of Rich Landrum and "Big" Bill Ward (who wore a nice Stetson hat), and the man at the center of the ring, making his voice resonate with the tone of the Gods, Bill Merriman. This would be the last details they would reveal as contracts are still being sorted out. All the extra details will be sorted out when the event takes place on January 3, 1975 to celebrate the new year. They closed the conference by reminding everyone that there is always ACES up their sleeves.[/center]

A Sudden Update! 1/1/75 During the highlight show for the Rose Bowl, we're informed that on Friday, ACES will air an one-hour preview show before the tournament, and that is when the bracketing will be revealed! This means each of the 16 will have even less time to study their opponents. Is this tournament going to get any more hotter? The ACES ARE GOING WILD!!

Interesting results. I like Zbyszko, though my only objection is that he wasn't the Living Legend at this point. He's actually quite the rookie.

Zbyszko as a rookie champion is an interesting choice. Will wait to see where you go with it.

I kind of went a bit unbooked with this. The idea of Zbyszko himself calling himself the Living Legend was something I had toyed with; it wasn't just something I thought of doing. Let's just say that Zbyszko could be leading a 1975 version of Nexus or New World Order.

January 12, 1975 New York City, NY ACES Event # 2
Rich Landrum and “Big” Bill Ward welcomes us to this event. They talk about how we will determine who will be crowned the first pair of ACES World Tag Team Champions.
Each team gives a statement from their locker rooms, telling the audience why they believe they will be the first pair of tag team champions..
Back to Landrum and Ward who talk about Larry Zsbyszko dubbing himself a living legend after being a rookie who won the World Heavyweight Championship. They cut to a promo where Larry tells the world and the entire ACES locker room that he has his eye on a number of ACES superstars and very soon, the “LIVING LEGENDS” will take over ACES.
To start the evening, we start with a first round match in the ACES World Tag Team Championship Tournament
[First Round – ACES World Tag Team Championship Tournament] Dominic DeNucci and Victor Rivera defeated The Texas Outlaws (Dusty Rhodes and Dick Murdoch) when DeNucci defeated Murdoch via pinfall in 0:06:49. Rating: 3/4*
Murdoch and Rhodes had many communication issues; Rhodes wanted to play to the fans, and Murdoch wanted to keep it focused on the action. Murdoch was distracted by Rhodes who was dancing at ringside with some young fans, which allowed DeNucci to school-boy Murdoch.
After the match, Murdoch went to confront Rhodes, who wanted to keep on dancing. Murdoch nailed Rhodes from behind, and continued to attack Rhodes in the corner. Murdoch went and got his bullrope and nailed Rhodes square in the face with it, causing Rhodes to be cut open. This prompted JIMMY SNUKA of all people to make the save. Snuka issued a challenge to Dick Murdoch for the next event on February 2 in Atlantic City. Rhodes was helped to the back by Snuka and security. Meanwhile, DeNucci & Rivera go to the next round.
[First Round – ACES World Tag Team Championship Tournament] The Brisco Brothers (Jerry Brisco and Jack Brisco) and The Funk Brothers (Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr.) battled to a draw in 0:15:00. Rating: **
The Brisco Brothers and The Funk Brothers went to the full distance when neither team could pin the other. After the bell rang indicating the draw, the NYC crowd was not happy, which lead to the Briscos and The Funks brawling all the way up the aisle and into the hallways of Madison Square Garden, and then they found their way out on to the freezing streets of 8th Avenue. NYC’s finest helped in separating the two teams. Next month, these two teams will face off in a Grudge Match on February 2. This means the winners of the Blackjacks/Valiants will get a BYE into the finals. Harley Race pinned Tony Altimore with the Piledriver in 0:05:03. Rating: ** ¼
The self-proclaimed King, Harley Race made his debut here, and showcased a powerful Piledriver. A certain wrestler may not like Race using that move, but what can he do when he isn’t here?
[First Round – ACES World Tag Team Championship Tournament] Billy Graham and Luke Graham defeated Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas when L. Graham pinned R. Johnson with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:07:40. Rating: ** ¼
The Graham Brothers showed no signs of tension as they took down the enthusiastic team of Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas. The Graham Brothers, however, showed a terrible attitude as they slapped around their opponents after the match. They almost got themselves disqualified and had the decision reversed, but the act was stopped.
[First Round – ACES World Tag Team Championship Tournament] The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) defeated The Valiant Brothers (Jimmy Valiant and Johnny Valiant) when Lanza made Jimmy Valiant submit to the Blackjack Claw in 0:06:27. Rating: ** 1/4
If there was any team to deserve the belts tonight, it would be the Blackjacks, who showed so much unity that it would be a crime if they didn’t walk away with the titles. They get the BYE thanks to the Briscos and Funks time limit draw.
[ACES Tag Title Tournament - Semi-Final]: Billy Graham and Luke Graham defeated Dominic DeNucci and Victor Rivera when B. Graham defeated DeNucci when DeNucci passed out in the Bearhug in 0:12:38. Rating: ** ¼
The Graham Brothers advance to the final to face The Blackjacks.
[ACES Tag Title Tournament - Semi-Final]: The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza/Blackjack Mulligan) won via default.
Not much to see here. We’re moving on.
Ray Stevens pinned Lee Wong with the Bombs Away Kneedrop in 0:03:12. Rating: ** ¾
The Crippler made his ACES debut and puts away Wong the old fashioned-way; with his patented Kneedrop.
Don Muraco pinned Pedro Morales with the Tombstone in 0:13:20. Rating: 1/2*
Consider this the real first feud of ACES; Morales came down off the second rope with a cross-body but Muraco turned it around into a Tombstone piledriver, which put Morales down for the count. Muraco continued to attack Morales after the match ended; a rematch is made for February 2 in Atlantic City, and it will be ACES’ first STREET FIGHT!
[For the vacant ACES World Tag Team Championship] The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) defeated Billy Graham and Luke Graham when Lanza made B. Graham submit to the Blackjack Claw in 0:05:59. Rating: * 3/4 (The Blackjacks won the ACES World Tag Team Championship.)
With that, The Blackjacks are the new ACES World Tag Team Champions! The team celebrates their win with the crowd. The team passes Bobby Duncum on their way back to the dressing room; they wish him good luck..
Larry Zbyszko pinned Bobby Duncum with the Crunch Time in 0:18:31. Rating: *** 3/4 (Larry Zbyszko retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)
As the match drew to a close with Zbyszko being dominated by the much bigger Duncum; the newly crowned tag team champions THE BLACKJACKS hit the ring when the referee went down. It looked like Zbyszko was going to fight off 3 on 1 until he told The Blackjacks to attack Duncum. A savage beating to Duncum and 3 seconds later, it was clear that this was Zbyszko’s idea of “LIVING LEGENDS.” Zbyszko had two jackets brought out for them. The three celebrated as Zbyszko indicated this was not the end.
The event on February 2 from the Boardwalk Civic Center in Atlantic City is set to feature the following:
The Blackjacks © Vs The Grahams (ACES World Tag Team Championship) The Briscos Vs The Funk Brothers Pedro Morales Vs Don Muraco (STREET FIGHT) Dick Murdoch Vs Jimmy Snuka 20-Man Groundhog Day Battle Royal

February 2, 1975 ACES @ Boardwalk Hall Atlantic City, New Jersey Harley Race pinned Frank Monte with the Piledriver in 0:02:23. Rating: ** ¼Harley Race once again used the Piledriver to put away the unknown Monte, but this time, after declaring himself the true king of wrestling and being carried to the ring on his throne (and I know he didn't become "king" until his WWF tenure), but after the match, he cut a promo on how a certain man named Jerry has been calling himself the true king, and if he has any guts, then JERRY LAWLER will show up at our next show at the Philadelphia Spectrum on Valentine’s Day for a 1 on 1 match. This was weird considering Lawler isn’t with ACES. Jimmy Snuka pinned Dick Murdoch with the Superfly Splash in 0:07:32. Rating: DUDSnuka was getting a measure of revenge for Dusty Rhodes, who we hear is going to be in Philadelphia on the 14th to return to ACES. This was not the greatest of matches, but the end came when DUSTY RHODES himself showed up and allowed Snuka to dropkick Murdoch and then hit the Superfly Splash for the victory. Rhodes issued a challenge to Murdoch to find a tag team partner for Philadelphia to take on him and Snuka. [20-Man Battle Royal for the vacant ACES Jackpot Championship:] Carlos Colon won a 20-man Battle Royal: x I. Koloff threw out R. Johnson after an elbowdrop in 0:01:40 x Monsoon threw out DeNucci in 0:04:30 x Kowalski threw out Atlas in 0:07:19 x R. Stevens threw out I. Koloff in 0:09:38 x Hansen threw out Johnny Valiant after an abdominal stretch in 0:18:36 x Rivera threw out Ernie Ladd in 0:21:11 x R. Stevens threw out Andre in 0:27:41 x Patterson threw out Strongbow after a fireman's carry in 0:30:18 x Patterson threw out G. Steele in 0:34:46 x Arion threw out Kowalski in 0:34:58 x Superstar threw out Patterson after a bodyslam in 0:37:02 x Rivera threw out Hansen in 0:37:25 x Monsoon threw out Rivera after a forearm smash in 0:39:43 x R. Stevens threw out Superstar in 0:42:24 x Arion threw out R. Stevens after an earringer in 0:47:43 x Arion threw out Monsoon after a punch in 0:52:03 x C. Colon threw out Jimmy Valiant in 0:53:07 x Robinson threw out Arion after a clothesline in 1:02:03 x C. Colon threw out Robinson after a Thesz press in 1:03:22 Rating: *** 1/4 (Carlos Colon won the ACES Jackpot Championship.)Carlos Colon is the first ACES Jackpot Champion. The end came down to Jimmy Valiant, Colon, Billy Robinson and Spiros Arion.. Colon got rid of Valiant, and Robinson got rid of Arion. Robinson thought he had the match won, but Colon landed on the apron. Robinson charged into Colon who back body dropped Robinson out of the ring to win the match and the title. This match also saw the first in-ring appearances of Ivan Koloff, Andre The Giant (who was very agile here), Killer Kowalski, Jay Strongbow, George Steele, Pat Patterson, Stan Hansen, and Billy Robinson. Robinson said he's going to bring in someone he's been training to help him climb to the top.The Funk Brothers (Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr.) defeated The Brisco Brothers (Jerry Brisco and Jack Brisco) when D. Funk Jr. defeated Jerry Brisco when Jerry Brisco passed out in the Texas Cloverleaf in 0:21:32. Rating: ** ¾These two family-oriented teams made sure that they were going to take each other to the limit. Eventually the two teams broke out into a four-way brawl and the referee Crick Watson lost control. Terry Funk and Jack Brisco were separated from Dory and Jerry, when Jerry got back into the ring. When the ref was tied up with Jack trying to get him back to his corner, Terry nailed Jerry with his cowbell, allowing Dory to wrap him in the Cloverleaf and the submission victory. Jerry challenged Terry to a 1 on 1 match on February 14 th, and he will get it. [Street Fight] Don Muraco pinned Pedro Morales with the Tombstone in 0:24:19. Rating: 3/4*At least this match got a little better from their last encounter, and the match barely stayed in the ring as it ended up going all over the arena. A few popcorn carts were knocked over, and eventually it returned to the ring as Morales went for a cross-body again, and the momentum carried the two over and back to a standing position as Muraco wasted no time hitting the Piledriver again for the 3 count. Due to this victory, Muraco will get the first shot at the Jackpot Championship against Carlos Colon in Philadelphia on the 14th.Luke Graham and Billy Graham and The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) battled to a time limit draw in 0:20:00. Rating: 1/2* (The Blackjacks retained the ACES World Tag Team Championship.)The Blackjacks came to the ring decked out in their “Living Legends” jackets. As it looked like Billy Graham was going to secure the victory and the tag titles; the bell rang and the time limit had expired. The fans were outraged, but the ACES World Heavyweight Champion Larry Zbyszko came to the ring and as an act of faith, he asked the match to be restarted. Word came down from the Board of Directors that the match continue. Luke Graham and Billy Graham and The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) battled to a double countout in 0:06:39. Rating: 1/2* (The Blackjacks retained the ACES World Tag Team Championship.) Again, The Grahams came close, but the urge to fight sometimes is just too much when you want something so badly. Either way, The Blackjacks retained the titles, and there would not be an extension. “An Indecent Proposal?” Zbyszko called all four men back in the ring, and proposed that the Grahams join the Living Legends. Luke and Billy shook their heads in disapproval. Larry promised them the best perks, and traveling in style. All they have to do is join them. As Luke grabbed a microphone and proceeded to tell him off, Billy Graham attacked Luke with a clothesline and locked him in the Bearhug. As Luke cried out in pain, the rest of the Living Legends looked on. After finally letting go, Billy put his jacket on as the Legends celebrated. What an event! Another member of the Living Legends is revealed, and what is going to become of Luke Graham. Who will Dick Murdoch get to be his partner? So many questions to be answered on Valentine’s Day. The card for February 14, 1975 is shaping up to be great: 2/14/1975 ACES @ The Spectrum Philadelphia, PA

ACES @ The Spectrum February 14, 1975 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
“A King With No Crown” Harley Race starts the show, and demands that Rich Landrum crown him as the official ACES King Of The Ring. He makes Landrum get on his knees and present him with the crown. He then made Landrum leave the ring, and then the fun started.
Race began to rip on Memphis and how for the last few years, some punk named Jerry Lawler is claiming to be the true king of the ring. Race has a chair set up and asked Lawler to come to the ring. He gave him till the count of 10. Otherwise, he'd declare himself the victor and the true king.
1.......2........3......4........a noise started brewing in the crowd………5………6………..7………..the noise got louder…………someone was coming in through the crowd…………….8………..9………..IT'S JERRY LAWLER…………10. Race doesn't realize that Lawler is behind him, and talks some more trash.
Race turns around and sees Lawler and starts to beg for his life. Lawler looks to the crowd who roar in approval. As Lawler is about to strike, someone attacks him from behind, dressed in a butler's outfit. Race and the butler (who we learned is named Davenport) start attacking Lawler.
It doesn't stay that way for long as Lawler powers out; Race shoves Davenport to Lawler as he takes the coward's way out. Lawler looks to the crowd and wants to piledrive Davenport, but security is telling him not to.
It is going to be a punishment for Lawler if he does it.
HE DOES IT!
Lawler gets escorted out and medics are in the ring just as fast. What is going to be the repercussions of these actions? Harley Race better watch his back as Jerry Lawler is now a part of ACES. Race tells the camera that isn’t going to be easy for Lawler to take the crown.
Jerry Brisco defeated Terry Funk via pinfall in 0:04:10. Rating: * ¾
Jerry Brisco gets a measure of revenge for the last encounter between the Funks and Briscos. Jack made sure Dory wasn’t getting involved and chased Dory to the back, allowing Jerry to nail Terry and score the pin. It is announced that the Briscos and Funks will battle it out in a # 1 Contender’s Match for the ACES Tag Team Championship at our next event on March 1st in Baltimore, Maryland
“Nobody Expects An International Acquisition”[/u] The Japanese stars HIRO MATSUDA and KINTARO OHKI are lead to the ring by their new mouthpiece and manager, THE GRAND WIZARD. The trio gets into the ring and Wiz does all the talking, telling the audience what connections he had to make and what favors he used up to bring two of the greatest superstars in Japan to ACES so they better deliver great opponents. Out comes the not-so-familiar team of PEZ WHATLEY and HANS SCHRODER
Hiro Matsuda and Kintaro Ohki defeated Pez Whatley and Hans Schroder when Matsuda defeated Schroder when Schroder passed out in the Japanese Sleeper in 0:04:29. Rating: ***
While The Wiz was excited over the victory, he made a promise that his “ORIENTAL AGRESSORS” will tear through the entire roster until they have those belts around their waists.
“A Man and his Dream [Team]” Jimmy Hart steps into the ring and tells the crowd that he has discovered the next greatest team in wrestling history.
He calls them "The Dream Team" and introduces Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Dino Bravo (yes, I do know Beefcake was the original member. Consider this somewhat of an alternate reality).
Hart does most of the talking as Valentine doesn't talk much and Bravo apparently can't speak English well.
Hart tells the world that these two are the next ACES Tag Team Champions, and they have an unmatched skill in technical wrestling that hasn't been seen since the days of Frank Gotch.
Hart concludes by telling the crowd that this team is what dreams are made of and they will have the World Tag Team Championship soon enough. Jimmy Hart then issues a challenge to any team in the back. Out comes Dominic DeNucci and Victor Rivera.
The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) defeated Dominic DeNucci and Victor Rivera when Valentine made DeNucci submit to the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:11:36. Rating: ** 1/4
With that, the Dream Team move up in the rankings for a shot at the ACES Tag Team Championships. Valentine worked the knee of DeNucci the entire match separating him from Rivera. Valentine and Bravo showed some great teamwork skills. Valentine put his own “spin” on his finishing move. He twisted the leg two times instead of once to put a more secure grip on the move. DeNucci could go nowhere and gave up.
Billy Robinson pinned Lee Wong with the Double-Arm Suplex in 0:03:12. Rating: ***
Robinson finally gets a one on one match, but unfortunately, it is against the not so competitive Lee Wong. After the match, in a ringside interview with Bill Ward, he promised to bring his protégé to the next show on March 1st in Baltimore.
Dusty Rhodes and Jimmy Snuka and Dick Murdoch and Killer Kowalski battled to a draw in 0:15:00. Rating: *
Who does Dick Murdoch get for his partner? A Killer. Killer Kowalski to be exact. Rhodes and Kowalski started the match, as it looked like Murdoch was staying away from his former partner. Rhodes & Snuka kept showing promise, but once Snuka got into the ring, he was isolated from Rhodes, and that’s when Murdoch got into the ring and worked over Snuka. Towards the end of the match, Snuka was left with Kowalski whom he nailed with a rebounding dropkick. Kowalski tags Murdoch, and Snuka makes the hot tag to Rhodes who finally has some time with Murdoch, but from the timekeeper’s point of view, it wasn’t much, around 45 seconds. Rhodes whipped Murdoch into the ropes and nailed him with an ear ringer. Rhodes took a few too many seconds as he waited for Murdoch to get up. Dusty set up for the Bionic Elbow, but the bell rang (due to no title on the line; therefore 15 minute time limit) before he could hit it and Murdoch took the low road and immediately left the ring and regrouped with Kowalski. Rhodes and Snuka played to the crowd for 5 more minutes, but it wasn’t happening. Rhodes and Snuka didn’t see someone sneak up into the ring. It was GORILLA MONSOON. He nails Rhodes & Snuka with a double clothesline. Murdoch and Kowalski came back to the ring to make it 3 on 2, but no one expected what happened next to happen. ANDRE THE GIANT came to the ring and made it even (or perhaps uneven), nailing the heels with shots to the head. Andre issues a challenge for a 6-Man Tag on March 1st in Baltimore. It looks like it is going to happen.
Larry Zbyszko pinned Bobby Duncum with the Crunch Time in 0:17:28. Rating: *** 1/4 (Larry Zbyszko retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)
The leader of the Living Legends and defending champion Zbyszko brought his A-game tonight, but so did Duncum. Duncum’s size advantage would be his downfall here. Duncum had him in the Full Nelson when Larry low-blowed Duncum with the boot while distracting the referee. He then hit the Crunch Time for the 3 and retained the title. Zbyszko was told after the match that he will defend the title on March 1st in Baltimore, but his opponent hasn’t been named yet. This angered Zbyszko but he held up his hands in victory any way, displaying four fingers on each hand, but then all five. Could this mean a new member of the Living Legends?
The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) and Billy Graham defeated Rocky Johnson, Tony Atlas and Luke Graham when B. Graham defeated L. Graham when L. Graham passed out in a full nelson in 0:15:57. Rating: *
What does the world come to when a brother has no problem hurting his own flesh and blood? That’s what happened here. However, the more interesting development occurred between the team Luke picked for his teammates, Rocky Johnson, and Tony Atlas. It seemed as if the entire match was Atlas and Luke. It might as well have been a handicap match, but then Rocky got the hot tag and just when it looked like he was going to go on a streak of moves, HE NAILS HIS OWN PARTNER, TONY ATLAS. At this point, Larry Zbyszko came out with another jacket for their newest member Rocky Johnson. Atlas was knocked out on the outside, and Luke was beyond confused. This confusion allowed Superstar to lock in a full nelson submission on Luke who could do nothing but give up. This brought the Living Legends to 5, but Zbyszko said that when ACES rolls into Baltimore, they are going to reveal the brains behind it all.
Don Muraco defeated Carlos Colon by disqualification in 0:19:55. Rating: ** 1/2 (Carlos Colon retained the ACES Jackpot Championship.) [Pedro interfered against Don Muraco.]
Our main event tonight was for the Jackpot Championship. Muraco, who had a number of victories over Pedro Morales, was given this shot as a reward. Colon, who had rarely held a title outside of his native Puerto Rico, was anxious to hold on to this belt. Both men fought valiantly, as time was winding down to the 20 minute time limit. Colon was going for the Figure-Four when Muraco kicked him into the turnbuckle. Pedro Morales came running down to the ring and grabbed the title. Muraco had Colon in position for the Tombstone when Pedro decked Muraco in the back of the head with 5 seconds left to the time limit. Muraco came close, but Pedro stole it. No one has seen Pedro exhibit this kind of behavior. Pedro got on the microphone and challenged Muraco to a Baltimore Harbor Brawl, where the object is to throw your opponent into the Baltimore Harbor. A first time match concept that is sure to entertain. Muraco accepted the challenge to end the show.
The March 1st Event is shaping up to be a good one. Matches listed so far:
Pedro Morales Vs Don Muraco (Baltimore Harbor Brawl) Larry Zbyszko © Vs Pat Patterson (ACES World Heavyweight Championship) Dusty Rhodes/Jimmy Snuka/Andre The Giant Vs Dick Murdoch/Killer Kowalski/Gorilla Monsoon The Funk Brothers Vs The Briscos (# 1 Contender’s Match) Jerry Lawler Vs Bill Eadie The Dream Team Vs Bobby Duncum/Hillbilly Jim Billy Robinson’s New Protégé Vs Victor Rivera Rocky Johnson Vs Spiros Arion Hiro Matsuda Vs Ivan Koloff

ACES @ Baltimore Civic Center March 1st, 1975 Baltimore, MarylandNumber-One-Contenders-Match: The Funk Brothers (Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr.) and The Brisco Brothers (Jerry Brisco and Jack Brisco) battled to a draw in 0:15:00. Rating: * ¾It seems that the 15 minute time limit just wasn’t enough to see who would face The Blackjacks for the ACES World Tag Team Championship. This situation required the Board of Directors. They decided that both teams would receive title shots. The Funk Brothers would get their shot on March 17th, and The Brisco Brothers will get their shot on March 31st. “What beats Scissors?”The newest member of the Living Legends, the former Rocky Johnson, is now insisting the world refer to him as ROCK JOHNSON. Rock Johnson defeated Spiros Arion by countout in 0:03:14. Rating: **Rock sent Arion to the outside and nailed him with the Johnson Shuffle just to prove he could knock someone out if he had to. This new fire under Rock Johnson could take him far if he can manage to stay away from Tony Atlas who wants his head on a platter. The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) defeated Bobby Duncum and Hillbilly Jim when Bravo defeated Duncum when Duncum passed out in an airplane spin in 0:17:42. Rating: * ¼The Dream Team continues to win, but this time, it was thanks to Jimmy Hart. Bravo wanted to prove he was truly a Canadian strongman and put Duncum in a backbreaker. Hart got up on the apron. Hillbilly Jim tried to stop him, but referee Stoney Cross forced Jim back allowing Hart to nail Duncum over the head with his megaphone. Cross lifted Duncum’s arm, showing he was out cold while Bravo spun him around and called for the bell. “Billy Robinson’s Protégé debuts”Robinson, not dressed for action, came to the ring and told the audience that he heard “nature calling.” Robinson introduced "NATURE BOY" RIC FLAIR. Robinson then told the Living Legends that he would not let them take over ACES. Flair’s debut opponent was VICTOR RIVERA.”Ric Flair defeated Victor Rivera when Victor Rivera passed out in the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:06:53. Rating: ****Flair just might have the best-looking Figure-Four in ACES. It looks like Robinson might be putting together a squad of his own to prevent the Living Legends from domination. On March 17th, Robinson and Flair will team to face Rock Johnson and Billy Graham. “All the King’s Men”The self-proclaimed King of ACES, HARLEY RACE revealed that he had a special championship belt made to represent his title which was brought out by Race’s court which now consisted of servant Davenport, and head of Race’s security BILL EADIE. Race then told the crowd that if Lawler wants to dethrone him, he’ll have to get through Bill Eadie first. Race left Davenport at ringside to give Eadie an edge. Jerry Lawler defeated Bill Eadie via submission in 10:44. Rating: * ¾Lawler was sending a message to Race through his dominance of Eadie, who instead of using the famed Pile Driver, applied a modified Cobra Twist, which Lawler referred to as “The LawLock.” This happened after Davenport tried to interfere, but it backfired when Lawler dropkicked Eadie into Davenport, followed by the finishing submission “Oriental Aggression Rises”The Grand Wizard asked for some decent singles competition, and out comes “THE RUSSIAN BEAR” IVAN KOLOFF. An international incident might break out tonight. Ivan Koloff defeated Hiro Matsuda by disqualification in 0:10:34. Rating: * ¾When it looked like Koloff was going to put Matsuda away with the Russian Sickle, Kintaro Ohki hit the ring and caused the disqualification. When it looked like Koloff could not overcome the handicap, TIM WOODS made a surprise save. Woods extended his hand to Koloff after clearing the ring. It looks like we have a new American/Russian alliance in ACES. Larry Zbyszko pinned Pat Patterson with the Crunch Time in 0:19:41. Rating: *** (Larry Zbyszko retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)The final member of the Living Legends was revealed, and when Zbyszko meant brains, he meant BOBBY “THE BRAIN” HEENAN. As Patterson had the champion in a sleeper hold, Heenan got up on the apron, and Zbyszko used the momentum to knock Patterson into Heenan. Zbyszko then hit the Crunch Time, and Patterson wasn’t walking out with the title tonight. The Brain explained that the Living Legends were a plan of his from day 1, and with his intelligence and the strength of the men he has recruited, ACES is in his back pocket. Brain then tells Billy Robinson and Ric Flair that he is so confident that Rock and Graham will not lose that if they win, Robinson can have a shot at the ACES World Heavyweight Championship. Dusty Rhodes, Jimmy Snuka and Andre the Giant defeated Dick Murdoch, Killer Kowalski and Gorilla Monsoon when Dusty Rhodes pinned Kowalski with the Bionic Elbowdrop in 0:15:28. Rating: *Tonight, it’s Team Dusty that comes out with the victory. Andre’s ability was so profound that no one wanted to face up to him, which lead to the dissention of the Killer Outlaws, which lead to Rhodes hitting Kowalski with the Bionic Elbowdrop for the victory. Andre The Giant Vs Gorilla Monsoon is announced for March 17th. Before the main event, the rules of the Baltimore Harbor Brawl are reviewed; there is only one rule; to dump your opponent in the freezing Baltimore Harbor water. After tonight, we might see the end of one career. Baltimore Harbor Brawl Match: Pedro Morales defeated Don Muraco in 0:14:11. Rating: 3/4*Muraco and Morales found themselves on a yacht parked on the harbor. Muraco nailed Morales with a DDT on the cold, hard floor and then tossed Morales overboard. Muraco thought he had won, but he wasn’t being told that. Muraco looked over the side of the yacht when Morales reached up, and grabbed Muraco by the arm and pulled him over the side and down when Muraco 15 feet into the freezing water. Morales climbed back on to the yacht and celebrated his victory while on the yacht. A Coast Guard boat was dispatched to get Muraco who they had trouble finding. Either way, Morales now will have another opportunity to challenge Carlos Colon for the ACES Jackpot Championship on March 17th. The March 17th card emanating from the Capitol Arena in Washington D.C. is shaping up to be very good:
- The Blackjacks © Vs The Funk Brothers (ACES World Tag Team Championship)
- Pedro Morales Vs Carlos Colon © (ACES Jackpot Championship – 2/3 Falls Match)
- Billy Robinson/Ric Flair Vs Rock Johnson/Billy Graham
- Tim Woods Vs Kintaro Ohki
- Gorilla Monsoon Vs Andre The Giant
- Jerry Lawler Vs Davenport/Bill Eadie (Handicap Match – If Lawler wins, he will face Harley Race for the King of the Ring Title)
- Dusty Rhodes Vs Dick Murdoch
- Bobo Brazil Vs Pez Whatley
- The Dream Team Vs Porkchop Cash/George Steele

ACES @ The Capitol Arena March 17, 1975 Washington, D.C.
The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) defeated Porkchop Cash and George Steele when Bravo pinned G. Steele with the Side Suplex in 0:03:26. Rating: * ½
The Dream Team continues their winning streak as they make short work of the thrown together team of Porkchop Cash and George Steele. Jimmy Hart continued to blab into the blow horn that his men will have tag team gold around their waists before the rest of ACES even know what hit them.
“The King’s Court = Guilty Verdict” “The King” Harley Race accompanies the team of Davenport and Bill Eadie to the ring and joins Landrum and Ward on commentary. The upcoming match might be the final step before Jerry Lawler can take the crown from Race.
Handicap-Match: Jerry Lawler defeated Davenport and Bill Eadie when Lawler made Eadie submit to the LawLock in 0:11:54. Rating: ** ¼
Lawler had finally done it. He overcame the two on one advantage early on and then made sure to keep the two apart. Davenport couldn’t fight for a damn so much, so he was useless. As soon as the bell rang out in victory, Lawler got out of the ring and chased Race to the back.
Backstage, we see that Race has dropped his crown, and Lawler has picked it up. He puts it on and asks ACES backstage interviewer Mack Lancaster if it looks good on him. Lancaster says yes. Lawler looks dead at the camera and says “It’s good to be the king.”
Bobo Brazil pinned Pez Whatley with the Coco Butt in 0:03:03. Rating: * ¾
The ACES debut of Bobo Brazil was nothing short of impressive has he put Whatley away in 3 minutes. It’s going to be very interesting to see what Brazil is going to accomplish during his tenure here in ACES. Brazil is just over 50 years in age, and it is still unclear how far he can go.
Tim Woods made Kintaro Ohki via submission in 0:11:08. Rating: **** ¼
Woods evened up the score this week as Hiro Matsuda is nowhere to be seen this week along with The Grand Wizard, but Ivan Koloff was there, and it seemed that Woods was trying to impress Koloff, and Koloff had this look as if he was going to try and top the impressive arsenal of Woods.
Two-out-of-three-Falls Match: Pedro Morales beat Carlos Colon 2 falls to 1: x C. Colon beat Morales via a Boston crab in 0:06:18 x Morales beat C. Colon via the Boston Crab in 0:16:09 x Morales beat C. Colon via the Boston Crab in 0:22:44 Rating: *** (Pedro Morales won the ACES Jackpot Championship.)
Just 16 days after nearly being thrown into the frozen waters of the Baltimore Harbor, Morales was fired up and ready to take the title he cost Muraco two shows back. The first fall came to an end a little over 6 minutes in when Morales decided to quickly give up to a Boston Crab. Morales wasn’t near the ropes so he decided to give up so he could be fresh for the next fall. Around 10 minutes later, Morales had the same hold and Colon gave in this time. The match was even going into the final fall. Each man was brutally tired, and these last few minutes were Morales and Colon slugging it out. The end drew near when Colon threw a clothesline and Morales ducked, hitting Colon with a back suplex with a knee up, then proceeded to lock Colon in the Boston Crab one more time. Colon was making it toward the ropes, but Morales was drawing energy from the crowd, and as Colon was about to reach the rope, Morales pulled him back to the center of the ring. Colon had nowhere to go, and gave in. We have a NEW JACKPOT CHAMPION!
Colon grabbed the belt out of the referee Alan Parker’s hand and gave it to Morales himself, followed by the two men exchanging hugs out of respect for the great match they just gave us. No one knows if this is going to be the last time these two meet for a long time, but if it happens, you know that each man will have to up their game plans.
Dick Murdoch pinned Dusty Rhodes with the Gourdbuster in 0:13:26. Rating: ** ½
Two former partners finally get to go one on one today. As one could have predicted, Murdoch’s running-mate, Killer Kowalski made his way to the ring. Rhodes hit Murdoch with the Bionic Elbowdrop and went for the pin. Referee Kevin Bacchus didn’t see Kowalski slip brass knuckles into the hand of Murdoch on the kickout. Murdoch was going to be the victim of a Bionic Elbow to the head, but Murdoch nailed Rhodes in the midsection with the knuckles while Kowalski had Bacchus distracted. Murdoch hit the Gourdbuster for the victory. Jimmy Snuka rushed to the ring to even up the score, and insisted that another tag match be signed for the next show on March 31st from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The Board of Directors plan on making it a big event, so this tag team match is going to be a Brass Knux On A Pole Match.
Andre the Giant pinned Gorilla Monsoon with the Elbowdrop in 0:06:09. Rating: 3/4*
Nothing compares to the size of Andre The Giant, the most agile big-man in the business today. Monsoon wasn’t afraid to take it to Andre. Monsoon focused his attack on the legs, but only managed to bring Andre down to one knee, after which Andre delivered a clothesline with tremendous force, followed by his patented Elbowdrop for the victory. The question now is who steps up to try and make a name for himself by taking down the giant? That question is going to be answered by Bobo Brazil, who when asked about the match, told Mack Lancaster that taking down the biggest man in ACES seems like a great exclamation point on an incredible career.
The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) defeated The Funk Brothers (Terry Funk and Dory Funk Jr.) when Lanza defeated T. Funk when T. Funk passed out in the Blackjack Claw in 0:10:21. Rating: *** 1/2 (The Blackjacks retained the ACES World Tag Team Championship.)
If you could say something nice about the Blackjacks, you could say that their focus on retaining those titles was in high gear. Lanza and Mulligan kept working over Terry the entire match, and when Dory got the hot tag, Heenan was quick to contest on the apron, distracting referee Dean Ross from seeing it, and forcing Dory out of the ring, and Lanza put Terry in the Claw, and Funk’s arm fell three times.
The next opponents of the Blackjacks, the Brisco Brothers watched from the entrance, and stood up, applauded and left. The Briscos meet The Blackjacks for the tag team titles in Richmond.
Billy Robinson and Ric Flair defeated Rock Johnson and Billy Graham when Robinson pinned B. Graham with the Double-Arm Suplex in 0:32:20. Rating: *** ½
Bobby “The Brain” Heenan’s mouth wrote a check his butt can’t cash. Robinson countered the Bearhug with the Double-Arm Suplex after it looked like Robinson couldn’t take it anymore. He used the momentum to lock legs and put Graham in a pinning situation for a three count.
As Heenan, Johnson, and Graham tried to make a quick exit, they found it was blocked by LUKE GRAHAM and TONY ATLAS, who found themselves attacked by The Blackjacks and Larry Zbyszko, the rest of the Living Legends as it became 5 on 4, until BRUNO SAMMARTINO came out to even up the sides, which lead to the faces taking control and forcing The Living Legends out of the ring. It looks like Bruno is going to wrestle in Richmond on March 31.
Our next event is going to be huge; it’s epic; it’s extravagant; it’s 2 weeks from tonight:
Richmond Coliseum March 31, 1975 Richmond, VA
• Larry Zbyszko © Vs Billy Robinson (ACES World Heavyweight Championship) • Rock Johnson Vs Tony Atlas • Billy Graham Vs Luke Graham • Blackjack Lanza Vs Ric Flair • Blackjack Mulligan Vs Bruno Sammartino • Bobo Brazil VS Andre The Giant • Dusty Rhodes/Jimmy Snuka Vs Dick Murdock/Killer Kowalski (Brass Knux On A Pole Match) • Harley Race © Vs Jerry Lawler (ACES King of the Ring Title) • Tim Woods/Ivan Koloff Vs Hiro Matsuda/Kintaro Ohki • The Dream Team Vs The Brisco Brothers • Ray Stevens Vs Hillbilly Jim

ACES @ The Richmond Coliseum March 31, 1975 Richmond, Virginia
The Peacemakers (Tim Woods and Ivan Koloff) defeated The Oriental Aggressors (Kintaro Ohki and Hiro Matsuda) when I. Koloff pinned Ohki with the Russian Sickle in 0:01:50. Rating: **
As this feud continues, these two teams finally get a chance to go at it. No one thought that the Grand Wizard’s team would go down so easily. The strategy of the Aggressors backfired as they could not out-do the strength of Woods and Koloff. They had their fun, but eventually, they had to Rock/Paper/Scissor to see who would finish, and Koloff won cutting Woods’ paper, and then Koloff nailed Ohki with the Sickle for the victory.
Ric Flair pinned Blackjack Lanza after a crucifix in 0:18:13. Rating: ** 3/4
The first of five matches against the Living Legends , and it involves Ric Flair, a fairly new talent up against one half of the tag team champions. While Lanza might have had the size advantage, Flair had the quick to his advantage. Lanza went for the Lariat, but Flair held on and countered with a crucifix for a three which seemed to shock both men. If this was a best of 5, Team Robinson would be ahead 1 to 0.
Hillbilly Jim def. Ray Stevens by disqualification in 0:5:33. Rating: *
Stevens is starting to develop an aggressive attitude. Jim was bigger than him and Stevens started nailing him with some dropkicks and flying shoulderblocks, but then Stevens had sort of a seizure-like happening and got more vicious with his shots, including a modified camel clutch submission hold, and Jim gave up, by Stevens would not relent, eventually forcing the referee to reverse the decision. It took a number of security to remove Stevens who left with a devious smile on his face.
Bruno Sammartino and Blackjack Mulligan battled to a draw in 0:15:00. Rating: ** 1/4 [Billy Graham interfered against Bruno Sammartino.)
The other half of the tag team champions tonight did not seem like he has happy facing the best wrestler of the 1970’s. As Bruno and Mulligan continued to brawl, they lost track of the time, and eventually Billy Graham came to the ring to make it 2 on 1, but Bruno had this new fire beneath him and was able to take both men out of the ring. The crowd cheered loudly for Bruno.
The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) defeated The Brisco Brothers (Jerry Brisco and Jack Brisco) when Bravo pinned Jack Brisco with the Side Suplex in 0:08:21. Rating: * ½
The team that was supposed to challenge for the ACES World Tag Team Championship tonight ended up challenging the undefeated team of Jimmy Hart, The Dream Team. The Briscos were not happy, even though their shot was moved to the next show on April 10. The end came when it seemed the undefeated team was going to face their first loss when Brisco had Bravo in a suplex. Referee Jacob Jones was busy getting the illegal men out of the ring when Jimmy Hart got up on the apron and nailed Jack with the megaphone, after which Bravo hit the Side Suplex for the three count. The Dream Team remains victorious, and the Briscos are on a terrible roll going into their match for the tag titles on April 10th in Raleigh.
Jerry Lawler defeated Harley Race by disqualification in 0:01:45. Rating: 1/2* (Harley Race retained the ACES King Of The Ring Title.)
The match that everyone wanted to see ended up being nothing but a cheap way for Race to retain the crown and get the hell out of the arena. As Davenport kept getting in the way of Lawler, Lawler decked Davenport, and referee Kevin Bacchus threw him out and forced Race to get back in the ring, otherwise he would lose the crown. Race got in the ring and it looked like it finally happen. Race and Lawler came face to face and then Race kicked him below the belt, causing an immediate disqualification. Race took his crown and left, leaving Lawler in the ring and very puzzled.
Tony Atlas defeated Rock Johnson when Rock Johnson passed out in the Bearhug in 0:14:08. Rating: * ¼
Tony Atlas finally gets a measure of revenge for the partner who thought he was beneath him. Both men had each other in the Bear Hug but it was Atlas who held it together. Rock Johnson didn’t seem to be phased by the loss, as he thinks bigger and better things are ahead for him.
[Brass Knux On A Pole No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-Match:] The Killer Outlaws (Killer Kowalski and Dick Murdoch) defeated Superfly Dreams (Jimmy Snuka and Dusty Rhodes) when Kowalski defeated Snuka via pinfall in 0:17:40. Rating: *
As if brass knuckles on four poles hanging above the turnbuckles wasn’t enough, you had two of the roughest and toughest in all of ACES, and on the other side, we had Murdoch and Kowalski. Just a little joke, but the match became a full-on brawl, with Rhodes and Murdoch and Kowalski and Snuka paired off respectively. Eventually each man ended up with a pair of brass knuckles and then Rhodes & Snuka started to get their shine; Rhodes nailed Kowalski and knocked him out of the ring. Rhodes went to keep Kowalski at bay, but Kowalski had hidden his own pair of brass knuckles to knock out Rhodes. As Snuka was going to hit Murdoch with the Superfly Splash, Kowalski got on the apron and nailed him with the knux, and Snuka tumbled down like a sack of bricks following it up with his own splash for the victory. Snuka was angry at Rhodes, because Rhodes, even though they lost, still wanted to dance. Rhodes suggested that he shows Raleigh that he has a better splash hands down and bar none. Snuka likes that idea. On April 10th, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Snuka & Kowalski will fight to determine who has a better splash.
Bobo Brazil made Andre the Giant submit to a sleeperhold in 0:08:05. Rating: 3/4*
The 51-year-old and the largest icon in the world clashed here. Brazil was so tall that he actually looked like he could be a legit threat to Andre. They started off face to face, which could be an iconic picture if someone gets a snapshot of it. Brazil started to come off each set of ropes with shoulderblocks and clotheslines. On the fifth try, Brazil leaped into the air and nails Andre with a much stronger clothesline, which rocked Andre, but the Giant came back and just blocked Brazil with all his girth. Andre then nailed Brazil with multiple head-butts followed by picking up Brazil and nailing him with a huge more-powerful headbutt. Brazil rolled out of the ring to regain his bearings as the match could have ended right there. Bobo went to apron, and lured Andre in, hangman dropping him across the top rope, but Andre still didn’t go down. Bobo jumped on Andre’s back and put on a sleeperhold, and Andre backs into a corner, forcing Brazil to let go. Andre charged in but Brazil nailed him with a boot. Brazil ascended the second rope and nailed Andre with a flying Coco-Butt, dropping Andre to his knees. Brazil went right back to the sleeperhold, but Andre’s size was his downfall as he couldn’t get up under his own power this time. Referee Willie Webber lifts Andre’s hand three times and calls for the bell. The Giant had fallen, and Brazil is more shocked than anyone else in the arena.
Luke Graham pinned Billy Graham with the Thumb to the Throat in 0:09:18. Rating: ** ½
The crowd was happy to see Luke Graham back in singles competition, and against the man who turned his back on him. Billy was the dominant force in this match, as he taunted Luke continuously, and it seemed as if Luke was going to start losing his mind any minute. Everyone thought the end was coming when Superstar went to the second rope and nailed Luke with an elbow drop, but the 3 count was overturned when Bruno Sammartino convinced the referee that Luke’s foot was on the ropes. The referee restarted the match and Billy went after Bruno, but as soon as Billy turned around, Luke nailed him with the Thumb and cradled Graham for the upset. Superstar can’t believe it. Bruno and Luke laughed it up in the aisle, but Superstar got a microphone and issued a challenge to Sammartino for a match in Raleigh on April 10th. Sammartino accepts.
Larry Zbyszko pinned Billy Robinson with the Crunch Time in 0:10:13. Rating: *** 3/4 (Larry Zbyszko retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)
While Team Robinson was defeating the Living Legends one after the other, Robinson came up short. Tommy Young, the referee for the match, was knocked out when Robinson went to nail Larry in the corner. Robinson hit the Double-Arm Suplex when Vice Referee Jacob Jones came in and made the 3 count. The arena went nuts when Robinson won the championship, but Tommy Young, the Senior Referee came to, and declared the decision invalid as it was not made by the official referee, and ordered the match restarted. While the commotion was settling down, Larry poked Robinson in the eyes, and then took advantage and hit the Crunch Time for the three count and Zbyszko retains the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.
The April 10th show in Raleigh, North Carolina from the Dorton Arena is shaping up to be a heck of a night of action:
• Larry Zybszko © Vs Bobo Brazil (ACES World Heavyweight Championship) • Pedro Morales © Vs Luke Graham (ACES Jackpot Championship • “The King” Harley Race © Vs Jerry Lawler (ACES King Of The Ring Championship) • The Blackjacks © Vs The Brisco Brothers (ACES World Tag Team Championship) • Jimmy Snuka Vs Killer Kowalski • Bruno Sammartino Vs “Superstar” Billy Graham • Billy Robinson/Ric Flair Vs Hiro Matsuda/Kintaro Ohki • The Dream Team Vs The Valiant Brothers • Maybe a few more….

April 10, 1975 Raleigh, NC The Dorton Arena Jerry Lawler defeated Harley Race by countout in 0:06:49. Rating: ** (Harley Race retained the ACES King Of The Ring Title.)For the second time Race finds a way to escape with his crown, with his servant Davenport, and bodyguard Bill Eadie nowhere to be seen. The action spilled to the outside, and it looked like Lawler knocked Race out on the outside, and Race went down for the 10 count. However, once the count ended and the match ended, Race jumped right back up with a smile on his face. Lawler challenged Race to one more match; a 2 out of 3 Falls Match. The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) defeated Jimmy Valiant and Johnny Valiant when Bravo pinned Johnny Valiant after a gutwrench suplex in 0:10:14. Rating: ***The Dream Team continues their winning ways, and are getting anxious about getting their shot at the ACES Tag Team Championship. Jimmy Hart is in the middle of negotiations to have the Dream Team face the champions at the next show in Cleveland at the Cleveland Arena on April 30th Jimmy Snuka and Killer Kowalski battled to a double countout in 0:04:39. Rating: * 1/4Snuka went at it with Kowalski, but what was most surprising was RAY STEVENS attacking Snuka with a chicken-wing submission. After he let go, Kowalski thought Stevens was on his side, but then Stevens puts Kowalski in the same chicken-wing submission. Ray Stevens made it clear he was on no side but his own and anyone who gets in the way is going to face the wrath of the Crippler. The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) defeated The Brisco Brothers (Jerry Brisco and Jack Brisco) when Mulligan made Jerry Brisco submit to the Blackjack Claw in 0:12:20. Rating: *** 1/4 (The Blackjacks retained the ACES World Tag Team Championship.)The Blackjacks are on a hot streak with those belts. What is going to happen when they meet the undefeated Dream Team? Both Brisco brothers looked at each other and wondered if they still had the ability to be the greatest tag team. Bruno Sammartino and Billy Graham battled to a draw in 0:15:00. Rating: * ½A time limit draw for two of the best in ACES. A decision was made that a rematch would take place at the next event and it would have a 20 minute time limit. Which one will claim victory? Pedro Morales defeated Luke Graham when Luke Graham passed out in the Boston Crab in 0:09:02. Rating: ** 1/4 (Pedro Morales retained the ACES Jackpot Championship.)Luke Graham gave it his best in trying to become the Jackpot Champion, but Pedro Morales was able to put Luke in the Boston Crab for the victory to retain the title. Pedro’s opponent is unknown for the show on April 30th in Cleveland. Billy Robinson and Ric Flair defeated The Oriental Agressors (Kintaro Ohki and Hiro Matsuda) when R. Flair defeated Matsuda when Matsuda passed out in the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:09:39. Rating: *** ¼Ric Flair continues to get better with every match thanks to the teaching of Billy Robinson, and Matsuda and Ohki found that out first hand. Ric Flair is going to have a singles match against Hiro Matsuda on April 30th. Bobo Brazil defeated Larry Zbyszko by disqualification in 0:18:31. Rating: *** (Larry Zbyszko retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)Bobo Brazil came so close to becoming the new ACES World Heavyweight Champion until Bobby Heenan threw the title belt into the ring. Zbyszko had the title belt as Bobo was going for a leaping Coco Butt and nailed Brazil with it. It was a good effort, but Brazil came up just a little too short. Our next event in Cleveland on April 30th looks to be a great night of action:
April 30, 1975 Cleveland, OH The Cleveland Arena
• Larry Zbyszko © Vs Dusty Rhodes (ACES World Heavyweight Championship) • The Blackjacks © Vs The Dream Team (ACES World Tag Team Championship) • Ric Flair Vs Hiro Matsuda • Harley Race © Vs Jerry Lawler (ACES King of the Ring Championship – No Count Out, No Disqualification) • Andre The Giant Vs Rock Johnson • Bruno Sammartino Vs Billy Graham (20 Minute Time Limit) • The Peacemakers Vs The Killer Outlaws • Ray Stevens Vs Jimmy Snuka

April 30, 1975 Cleveland, OH The Cleveland Arena Rock Johnson defeated Andre the Giant by countout in 0:04:39. Rating: -1/4*What a way to start a show! With a huge change, Bobby Heenan fires Rock Johnson from the Living Legends and asks Andre to consider becoming a member of the Living Legends. Andre walked off, following Heenan, giving consideration to Heenan’s offer, but no answer. Will we find out his answer at our next show on Memorial Day, May 26 in Pittsburgh? The Peacemakers (Tim Woods and Ivan Koloff) defeated Killer Outlaws (Killer Kowalski and Dick Murdoch) when T. Woods made Murdoch submit to the Sleeper Hold in 0:08:24. Rating: ** ¼The Peacemakers continue to climb the tag team ranks, and it looks like they are in line for a shot at the ACES Tag Team Championship next month. Woods is becoming an ace with that sleeper, and it is going to take him very far. Kowalski and Murdoch continue to flounder in the tag team ranks. Ray Stevens made Jimmy Snuka submit to the Chicken-Wing in 0:06:44. Rating: ** ½The newly-chaotic Stevens made short work of Snuka, the man he attacked at the last show. Stevens almost lost the match by reverse decision, but he finally let the hold go. Stevens stared at his hands after the match. Billy Graham and Bruno Sammartino battled to a draw in 0:20:00. Rating: ***We have a second time limit draw. First, 15 minutes wasn’t enough. Now, 20 minutes wasn’t enough either. What is it going to take to make sure a winner is going to come out of this match? Rumor has it that the Board of Directors is working on something special for the next show on Memorial Day involving 30 minutes. Jerry Lawler pinned Harley Race with the Piledriver in 0:09:05. Rating: ** 1/2 (Jerry Lawler won the ACES King Of The Ring Title.)LAWLER FINALLY DID IT! It took a long time, but Lawler is finally the king of professional wrestling. Davenport was ejected from ringside, and Bill Eadie mistimed his interference allowing Lawler to capitalize and hit the Piledriver on Race for the 3 count and the crown. Davenport rushed back to the ring , but Race berated and smacked him around before finally leaving. Ric Flair pinned Hiro Matsuda after a reverse neckbreaker in 0:09:02. Rating: * ½Ric Flair continues to show the world that he is a man not to be taken lightly. It looks like Ric Flair is going to face the Jackpot Champion Pedro Morales at next month’s Memorial Day Supershow. The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) defeated The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) when Lanza defeated Valentine when Valentine passed out in the Blackjack Claw in 0:08:07. Rating: ** 1/2 (The Blackjacks retained the ACES World Tag Team Championship.)The Dream Team suffers their first loss at the hands of the champions. Bobby Heenan is proud that he has half of the champions in his stable. The Blackjacks have torn through the tag division. It looks like The Peacemakers are next in line for a shot next month. Dusty Rhodes defeated Larry Zbyszko by count-out in 0:14:40. Rating: ** 1/2 (Larry Zbyszko retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)The champion does it again. For the second show in a row, Zbyszko retains the belt through nefarious means. The end came when Rhodes & the champ were fighting on the outside. Rhodes reversed an irish whip and threw the champ into the post, which seemingly knocked him out, but as soon as the bell rang for the 10 count, Zbyszko got up and grabbed his belt, and started smiling evilly. Dusty was angry, but this is not the last time for these two as they will meet at the Memorial Day Supershow in ACES’ first ever STEEL CAGE MATCH for the ACES World Heavyweight Championship. This is going to be ACES’ first Super Show, and it looks like it could be a night of history for ACES

Awesome picture of the Cleveland Arena.
Rocky Johnson going over Andre is huge, even if it is via countout. Sure, he's already lost to Bobo, but any victory over Andre in this time period is big news.
I guess Lawler/Race in a 2/3 falls was changed to a normal match, but I like using this as the way to introduce Lawler as the true King of professional wrestling.
I think Rhodes is taking the strap from Zbyszko on the next show. Larry had a far better reign than I could have expected, but it's about to come to an end.

What is an Endurance Match?Starting off with the “Endurance Match,” Rich Landrum and Bill Ward explain the rules. Superstar Billy Graham and Bruno Sammartino will have 30 minutes to score as many falls as possible. The man with the most falls is declared the winner. Rumor has it, a special prize is to be awarded to the victor.[Endurance Match] Billy Graham beat Bruno Sammartino 1 falls to 0: x B. Graham beat B. Sammartino via the Bearhug in 0:21:29 x time limit expired (B. Graham and B. Sammartino) in 0:30:00 Rating: *** 1/4With that, we finally have a winner after three grueling matches where no one came out on top. It is announced that the winner, “Superstar” Billy Graham will face whoever the World Heavyweight Champion is next month on June 21st. This does not sit well with Bobby Heenan, worried that his stable of studs might be broken up from within. The Dream Team (Dino Bravo and Greg Valentine) defeated Bobby Duncum and Hillbilly Jim when Bravo defeated Hillbilly Jim via pinfall in 0:08:14. Rating: 1/2*The Dream Team go back to their winning ways by defeating country boys Duncum and Jim. Jimmy Hart pleaded through his megaphone for another shot at the Tag Team Championship. Next month’s challengers haven’t been declared yet. Andre’s AnswerBobby Heenan asks Andre what his answer is. Andre shocks the world when he says he is now a member of the Living Legends. This prompts Rocky (who put the Y back) Johnson and Tony Atlas (who quickly forgave his friend) to challenge Andre to a Handicap Match next month in Uniondale at Nassau Coliseum on June 21, at a show ACES is calling “SummerShock” Heenan says that Andre will destroy anything in his path. ACES turned him into a joke, but he’ll turn him into a monster! Don Muraco pinned Bill Eadie with the Tombstone in 0:07:59. Rating: * ¼The returning Muraco was able to put Eadie away with his patented Tombstone, but he had a much happier demeanor about him. Maybe this is a new Don Muraco we are seeing, but then again, maybe it’s just a clever ruse. Jerry Lawler pinned Terry Funk after a small package in 0:05:44. Rating: ** 1/4 (Jerry Lawler retained the ACES King Of The Ring Crown.)A very clever victory for the newly crowned King. Lawler came to the ring with a new title, calling it the crown instead of wearing an actual crown. The end came when Funk was gloating over Lawler’s body, picking him up for a body slam, and then Lawler comes out of nowhere with a small package for the surprise victory. Stan Hansen pinned Victor Rivera with the Lariat in 0:03:09. Rating: ** ¼Hansen’s Lariat just might be the strongest in this business, as Rivera learned tonight, as Hansen made short work of Rivera. Hansen told the audience that he is going straight to the top and everyone will know how much power lies behind the most deadliest finisher in ACES. Ray Stevens made Luke Graham submit the Chicken-Wing in 0:07:06. Rating: ***If anyone else was close to crazy as Ray Stevens had become, it was Luke Graham, but Stevens made sure that he was the only crazy one on the roster. Stevens eventually locked in the Chicken-Wing, and it was a matter of time before Luke gave in. Stevens looked at his hands again, and started screaming about becoming champion soon. Ernie Ladd pinned George Steele with the Boot to the Face in 0:02:09. Rating: *In an added bonus match, Ladd put away Steele with much ease. Nothing much more to be said here. The Blackjacks (Blackjack Lanza and Blackjack Mulligan) defeated The Peacemakers (Tim Woods and Ivan Koloff) when Mulligan defeated T. Woods by disqualification in 0:14:46. Rating: * 1/4 (The Blackjacks retained the ACES World Tag Team Championship.)The Dream Team sought to make sure no team made it out of the ring tonight, so they attacked The Blackjacks first, then the Peacemakers. The referee gave the decision to the Blackjacks, which puts the reign of The Blackjacks at almost half a year now. What is the Board of Directors going to decide about the state of the tag team division after this? Ric Flair defeated Pedro Morales via submission in 0:13:23. Rating: * 3/4 (Ric Flair won the ACES Jackpot Championship.)We have a new Jackpot champion! Ric Flair made Morales submit to the Figure-Four Leglock, and that was all she wrote. Flair’s mentor, Billy Robinson came to the ring to congratulate his student, [size=2 ]and that is when Flair nailed Robinson with the belt.[/size] Flair, now with gold, tells Robinson he doesn’t have to be in his shadow anymore. Ric Flair struts around with his gold, and finally leaves to a number of boos. Steel Cage Match Dusty Rhodes pinned Larry Zbyszko via pinfall in 0:20:31. Rating: *** (Dusty Rhodes won the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)RHODES IS THE NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!! THE AMERICAN DREAM HAS COME TRUE!!!! Bobby Heenan is furious. Billy Graham rushes to the ring and starts attacking Rhodes, but soon Bruno Sammartino comes out to make it even. Eventually, Rhodes and Bruno remove the Living Legends from the ring. The crowd went nuts as Rhodes celebrates winning the ACES World Heavyweight Championship to close the show and send fans even happier. ACES plans on putting on a show on June 21 in Uniondale, Long Island, at the Nassau Coliseum. The lineup looks like this:
• Dusty Rhodes © Vs Billy Graham (ACES World Heavyweight Championship) • Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas Vs Andre The Giant (Handicap Match) • Jerry Lawler © Vs Dory Funk Jr. (ACES King of the Ring Crown) • Ric Flair © Vs Billy Robinson (ACES Jackpot Championship) • Blackjack Mulligan Vs Greg Valentine • Tim Woods Vs Dino Bravo • Ray Stevens Vs Spiros Arion • Bobby Duncum/Hillbilly Jim Vs The Brisco Brothers • Stan Hansen Vs Dominic Denucci • Don Muraco Vs Kintaro Ohki

June 21, 1975 Uniondale, NY Nassau ColiseumDino Bravo pinned Tim Woods after a kneelift in 0:08:09. Rating: * ¼Bravo scores a victory over the impressing Woods, and hopefully, this singles match would make the Board of Directors notice that he is a strong part of a team worthy of another shot at the ACES Tag Titles. Don Muraco defeated Kintaro Ohki by disqualification in 0:05:04. Rating: * ¾Muraco has only been back for a short time, but is the victim of a brutal case of Oriental Aggression when Hiro Matsuda attacked Muraco causing the DQ. Muraco challenged the pair to a tag team match, and Muraco said he would have a partner that the entire world won’t believe. The Brisco Brothers (Jerry Brisco and Jack Brisco) defeated Bobby Duncum and Hillbilly Jim when Jerry Brisco pinned Hillbilly Jim after a forearm smash in 0:07:11. Rating: * The Briscoes prove that they are still a great team, stealing a victory from the now-named Good Ol' Boys. Jerry and Jack were interviewed by Mack Macallister and it seems that the two are going to try singles competition as their main focus. Maybe one day, one of these men will be World Champion some day. Ray Stevens defeated Spiros Arion when Spiros Arion passed out in the Chicken-Wing Leg Lock in 0:04:50. Spiros Arion injured his left knee. He will be out for approximately 2 months. Rating: ***Stevens gets crazier each event, and this one was no exception. Tonight, Stevens decided to unleash a modified submission of the Chicken –Wing, but he used Arion’s leg to inflict more pain. Arion’s knee apparently snapped, because he was loaded into an ambulance immediately after the match. Arion is looking at 2 months of recovery. A Special Announcement about an announcement.Rich Landrum and Bill Ward inform the crowd that the two majority owners of ACES (Baron and Smith) are going to make an announcement at the next show on July 18, and it promises to shake the foundations of ACES and professional wrestling in general.Handicap-Match Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas defeated Andre the Giant when R. Johnson defeated Andre by countout in 0:07:27. Rating: -1/4*No one expected Andre to go down to a count out. Andre thought taking care of two men would be a walk in the park. Heenan was furious, and Rocky Johnson had an idea; he wanted to have a tag team match. Johnson went on to say that he wanted the opponents to be Andre and…..HEENAN HIMSELF! Rocky says if Heenan can pin him, then he’ll leave ACES. Heenan finds the offer tempting, and agrees. Jerry Lawler pinned Dory Funk Jr. with the Piledriver in 0:09:01. Rating: ** 3/4 (Jerry Lawler retained the ACES King Of The Ring Crown.)Last show, Lawler defeated Terry Funk. Now it was time for him take on the other Funk brother, Dory. Dory seemed to have more stamina than Terry, and tried to out-wrestle the King, and Dory came close with a few near falls. It wasn’t enough to keep Lawler down, and eventually Lawler hits the Piledriver for the victory and retains the Crown. Greg Valentine made Blackjack Mulligan submit to the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:08:36. Rating: * ¾Valentine worked the knee the entire match, softening Mulligan up for the Figure Four. Mulligan came back a few times, but Valentine actually out-wrestled him and went back to the knee. Valentine even got a little creative with the leg moves, but Mulligan could just not stay with it. Both members of the Dream Team won their matches tonight. Surprisingly, Blackjack Lanza and Ivan Koloff were absent due to family emergencies. Stan Hansen pinned Dominic DeNucci with the Lariat in 0:03:18. Rating: ** ¼Hansen once again demonstrated the monstrosity that is the Lariat. Hansen took the microphone and asked for a real challenge. This drew out ERNIE LADD who told Hansen he’d shut him up, and said he’d fight him anywhere, any time, and any place. Hansen told him that at next month’s show, he’s going to put “The Big Cat” to sleep. Ric Flair and Billy Robinson battled to a double countout in 0:03:09. Rating: ** 1/2 (Ric Flair retained the ACES Jackpot Championship.)This was a classic case of teacher against student. Robinson couldn’t wait and attacked Flair in the aisle. They managed to enter the ring for the bell, but then it spilled back to the outside, with Robinson throwing Flair to the ringsteps, and a bodyslam on the concrete floor. He lifted up Flair, who hit Robinson with a low blow. Flair worked Robinson’s leg on the remaining ring step. Both lost track of the count and were counted out. Flair was happy, but beaten up. Robinson was angry. He demanded a rematch. Next month, July 18th, the rematch will happen, and it will be contested under FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE rules.Dusty Rhodes pinned Billy Graham with the Bionic Elbowdrop in 0:13:00. Rating: ** 1/2 (Dusty Rhodes retained the ACES World Heavyweight Championship.)Dusty retains, thanks to Larry Zbyszko mistiming throwing the title belt into the ring, and into the hands of Dusty Rhodes, who nailed Graham with it, and then picked him up just for the Bionic Elbowdrop. One has to wonder if Zbyszko’s actions were intentional or not. Would he really be okay if Graham had won the title? We’ll never know, but we know that Zbyszko is getting his rematch on July 18th in Boston. The roof is going to explode off the Boston Garden when ACES rolls into it with a huge card packed with action:
July 18, 1975 Boston, MA The Boston Garden
1. Dusty Rhodes © Vs Larry Zbyszko (ACES World Heavyweight Championship 2/3 Falls) 2. Ric Flair © Vs Billy Robinson (ACES Jackpot Championship – Falls Count Anywhere) 3. Jimmy Snuka Vs Blackjack Lanza 4. Don Muraco/ Vs The Oriental Agressors 5. Ray Stevens Vs Jack Brisco 6. Jerry Lawler © Vs Bill Eadie (ACES King of the Ring Crown) 7. The Dream Team Vs The Peacemakers (# 1 Contender’s Match – ACES World Tag Team Championship) 8. The Good Ol’ Boys Vs The Valiant Brothers 9. Ernie Ladd Vs Stan Hansen 10. Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas Vs Bobby Heenan/Andre The Giant (If Heenan pins Johnson, Johnson will leave ACES)

Like Dusty Rhodes being World champion. He's kind of a bowl of awesome, so good to see him get some love here. I like what you're doing overall, but I still have some trouble wrapping my head around some of the wrestlers being in gimmicks a decade earlier. Not a huge issue, but it's enough that I'll have to work through it some more.
