NAWA Glory 02/17/12.
Stills are shown from Blinded by Fury last Sunday, as we fade to the next time the New Age Wrestling Alliance will be on Pay Per View with Reality Check. The NAWA World Championship will be on the line, when the champion Teddy Hart defends his belt against the 2007 Luck of the Draw Winner.
“Blaze of Glory” by Bon Jovi kicks up and out comes the NAWA World Champion Teddy Hart for the opening promo. Hart talks about how last Sunday was an interesting night, but once again he’s the NAWA World Champion. He’s going on his ninth month as champion, breaking the record set by Ron Waterman in 2004. He only has to hold onto the belt for three more weeks. Of course, his next big challenger is Harry Harris on March 25th 2004 at Reality Check.
“Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins plays, and out comes the number one contender Harry Harris. The two time former NAWA World Champion is out and he has a pair of pink and black sunglasses. Harris says this might seem an odd time to be sentimental, but just like all people in the ring, he was a fan once. He was a huge fan of a certain wrestler, a man by the name of Bret “The Hitman” Hart, the uncle of the current NAWA World Champion. Harris says he got
these sunglasses at ringside one night, and they are a momentum.
Harris switches gears to Teddy Hart. He’s heard a lot of what people have said about Teddy Hart in the past. He’s been called a flake, a headcase, a screw up, but Harris doesn’t care about all that. He sees Teddy Hart as the man to beat, the man holding the NAWA World Championship. At another time, Harry Harris was that man, but circumstances cut both of his reigns short. Teddy Hart has broken an impressive milestone, and in the past nine months, he’s turned back all contenders.
But, Harris states, even the best things have to come to an end. Hart can add another six weeks onto that title reign, because come March 25th 2007, Harry Harris will become the NAWA World Champion for a third time. He reminds us how his second title reign got cut short, and he shows footage from two weeks ago, where CM Punk injured him. Harris remarks he doesn’t know what happened to that guy, he likely faded into obscurity or something.
Harris adds that between now and Reality Check, he will watch Teddy Hart’s back. He wants a Teddy Hart at the top of his game, and at one hundred and ten percent. When Harris wins the NAWA World Championship, there will be no excuses. He will be the man without a shadow of a doubt. Hart replies that he appreciates the confidence, but at Reality Check, he will be walking out with the belt. The NAWA World Champion states he wants the man who beat nearly every single other former World Champion who walked through this company.
Both champion and challenger stare each other down, as the crowd is buzzing. Hart holds up the NAWA World Title Belt, and Harris stares at the belt that used be his two other times. The NAWA Owner Larry Sweeney interrupts to huge heel heat.
Sweeney says this is a nice moment, a feel good moment, the calm before the hurricane that’s going to hit when these two men lock up. Harris demands to know what Sweeney wants, and Sweeney plays innocent. He says he’s just checking in on the top competitors in the main event of one of the biggest shows of the year. He suggests they shake hands now, because on March 25th, they might not be inclined to. They pause, and shake hands, even trying to psyche the other out with a stronger grip.
Sweeney discusses the Hart Family, how they have had a lot of turmoil. How they seem to be at each other’s throats and always trying to undercut each other. He laughs, saying if they are willing to do that with family, what are they going to do to a potential opponent? The NAWA Owner muses that he’ll see how well this truce holds up when Teddy Hart and Harry Harris are in action against these two men.
The NAWA World Tag Team Champions Low-Ki and Homicide, the Rottweilers are out. Homicide taunts, saying that these two boys will be going to their little blockbuster match with some bumps and bruises. Low-Ki states that he doesn’t know what’s going through their heads right now, but later tonight, his feet will be. Just like last Summer, as we see footage of Low-Ki defeating Harry Harris with a huge knockout kick. Low-Ki remarks he is one of the few competitors to pin Harry Harris over the past five years in the center of the ring, cleanly without a reasonable doubt.
Harris just chuckles. He almost forgot about that, because of the concussion. However, he remembers now, and how he never got his return match. Tonight he’s going to have to rectify that in the ring. Sweeney loves it, saying that he’s also going to put the NAWA World Tag Team Titles on the line. Homicide says they’re game, they are the best tag team in wrestling today, and
no makeshift team can beat them.
The announcers hype tonight’s NAWA World Tag Team Title Match with the Rottweilers against Teddy Hart and Harry Harris.

Killings says that something is rotten in “the city of Denmark” and it’s like if a skunk ate a bunch of stinky cheese. He suggests Harry Harris paid off the referee. He wants another match with Harris, but Sweeney says Harris is already booked. Killings asks Sweeney to give him a match with that no good chump Shawn Stasiak. Angle wants the winner of the NAWA World Championship match between Teddy Hart and Harry Harris after Reality Check. Angle says his goal entering the company was to win the NAWA World Championship. Angle has laid down the gauntlet. There are wrestlers lining up for the NAWA World Title, but there can only be one champion. Competition is going to heat up for sure within the coming weeks and months.

Backstage:
Bob Backlund is backstage, and he is walking to the ring. We understand that Bob Backlund has purchased some promo time, and he’ll have some words for the NAWA fans next on Glory!
[COMMERCIAL]
Bob Backlund stands in the ring dressed in a suit, with a bow tie and reading glasses, as he has a large scroll in the ring. He recites his grand proclamation about how he has searched far and wide for someone to carry on the legacy of him, the former World Wide Wrestling Federation Champion, who held the belt for decades. He yells that back in his day, men were men, and not little boys in the back rambling about their cell phones and their social media. Backlund says that he has perfected the most deadly hold in Professional Wrestling, the Cross-Faced Chickenwing. It makes grown men wet their pants.
Backlund states that all of the plebians in the back don’t know who the current President is, much less recite them all. They know nothing about culture, they would rather work on their tans then their ring work. Therefore, Backlund has discovered someone who has no frills, who is a cut above the rest. He calls out the man who he will be the new executive advisor to…The NAWA International Champion Jerry Lynn!
Out comes Jerry Lynn, who gets boos. Lynn says five years in this company and he’s always been number two. Time after time, he’s been passed over for NAWA World Title shots because he didn’t play ball with the right people. He’s been in this business for twenty years, and he will become the NAWA World Champion. If he doesn’t hold the championship belt within the next three hundred and sixty days, Lynn vows to retire and never come back.
The shrieks of Candace Sweet yelling for Lynn to “Shut Up!” brings the assistant to the NAWA Television Champion Sederick Skyhawk out. Last Sunday, a grave injustice occurred, because the top star of the company was robbed of his title. Sure enough, Sederick Skyhawk, Tomko, and Shawn Stasiak follow her out. She says she doesn’t care about the two old fossils in the ring, and if they step into her spotlight, she’ll have Tomko dismantle them and send them back to the Smithsonian.
She informs us that she has an Internet petition that will correct the injustice. It will be sent to Larry Sweeney, and will get Sederick Skyhawk his rightful NAWA World Championship Match. She is confident the belt will be in Skyhawk’s hands by Reality Check.
Backlund interrupts, saying that young ladies like her are best seen and not heard. The crazed old man calls the NAWA World Title match last Sunday a travesty. Tomko nods behind the backs of Sweet and Skyhawk. Backlund says if Jerry Lynn was in there, things would have gone differently. Jerry Lynn would be the NAWA World Champion right now.
Skyhawk looks on the verge of a meltdown, and yells that Hart got lucky. He had Hart; he had the belt in the palm of his hands. Backlund retorts that Skyhawk doesn’t know anything, he doesn’t even know all of the United States President. In fact, he bets none of them in the ring know them. Without missing a beat, Tomko recites all of the Presidents. Backlund sputters angrily, and SWINGS THE SCROLL, BONKING SHAWN STASIAK IN THE HEAD!
Shawn Stasiak has been knocked out, and we have a scuffle between both sides. Security escorts them out of the ring, as Shawn Stasiak is left forgotten in the ring.

We have a huge word next week on Glory, two big matches are announced. Samoa Joe will take on the Gambler, and Sederick Skyhawk puts the NAWA Television Championship on the line against Jerry Lynn. This is straight from the office of Larry Sweeney.
Sederick Skyhawk is out, to join the announcers for the next match. He begins to rant, saying that after last Sunday, he got railroaded out of the NAWA World Championship. Come hell or high water, he will get another title shot. He says that next week, he will beat “Geriatric” Lynn and keep the NAWA Television Championship. Also tonight, Tomko will correct the mistake that Shawn Stasiak failed to eliminate, as he will solve the problem of AJ Styles. Skyhawk is going to watch this match closely.
AJ Styles vs. Tomko(w/Candace Sweet)
Both men have a cat and mouse game of big man against little man. The announcers hype up Styles as the single best wrestler never to hold a single championship in this company’s history. Tomko beats on Styles, but Pele Kick connects. Styles goes for a springboard forearm smash, but Tomko avoids that. Yakuza Kick nearly destroys Styles for a nearfall. Tomko has Styles up, and dumps him over the top rope. Styles skins the cat and forearm, sets up a springboard cross body block which holds down Tomko for the pin!
AJ Styles pinned Tomko after a springboard cross body press in 0:08:27.
Rating: ** ¾.
AJ Styles raises his hand, as the announcers remark the Phenomenal One might be closing in fast on the NAWA Television Title and Sederick Skyhawk. He beat Stasiak on Sunday and Tomko tonight! Skyhawk yells this is the closest Styles will ever come to holding the championship. Styles strikes a pose, and points at the belt. Skyhawk pitches a fit, yelling that he’s surrounded by “incompetents!” and walks off. Candace tries to calm her meal ticket down. Next week’s match between Jerry Lynn and Sederick Skyhawk is hyped, and Skyhawk is not in the best frame of mind.
We have a scene backstage, and we got to get a camera back there.
Harry Harris is down face first in the backstage area. Kurt Angle shows up on the scene immediately, asking for paramedics. Laughter is heard, as Ron Killings remarks that karma finally caught up to Harry Harris. Angle accuses Killings, but Killings says he’s just passing by. He suggests Teddy Hart was the man who attacked Harris.
The NAWA World Champion is here, and Hart says that he didn’t attack Harris. Killings and Hart nearly get into a scuffle, but Angle breaks it up. Angle tells Hart to start going to the ring, he’ll sort this out. Hart leaves, but his partner for tonight and opponent for Reality Check is down!
[COMMERCIAL]
Teddy Hart is out, as Homicide taunts him about his partner taking a dive before the match. Rottweilers vow to lay a beating on Hart, and leave him broken. Out comes Kurt Angle, who offers to take Harris’s place despite being in his street shoes. Larry Sweeney okays the match, but it will no longer be for the NAWA World Tag Team Titles.
Teddy Hart and Kurt Angle vs. Low-Ki and Homicide, the Rottweilers(w/Larry Sweeney)
Angle and Hart work well together. Hart hits some slick offense, but the tandem effort of the Rottweilers isolated him in the ring. The Rottweilers prove why they are the NAWA Tag Team Champions, beating Hart in the corner. Hart is beaten down for about seven or eight minutes, but Hart fights out. HOT TAG MADE TO ANGLE! Angle is a house of fire, and it’s clotheslines and overhead belly to belly suplexes for all. Low-Ki tries to hit Angle with a kick, but Angle ducks and Homicide gets kicked. Angle hits a German Suplex on Low-Ki. Angle Slam delivered to Homicide, and Angle preps for the Ankle Lock. As he is bent over, Ron Killings enters the ring and nails Angle with the axe kick!
