On the subject of Survivor Series, McMahon went on to announce the Thanksgiving Day spectacular would this year feature 4 special 5 on 5 matches (including a 5 team vs 5 team tag match) involving almost the entire WWF roster. Each team will have co-captains and will line up as follows:

Saturday Night's Main Event - September Bringing in Dr. Death, and putting him with Fuji - and "The Million Dollar Man" - seems like an intriguing combination. It's be interesting to see how DiBiase utilizes Willimas's skills.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens between Dusty and Savage over the coming months.
Mr. Perfect picking up a clean victory over Rude definitely puts him in a good position to challenge for the title, sooner rather than later.
FALL BRAWL The British Bulldog with two huges wins in one night! Very impressive victory to pick up the TV Title. I see a long reign in his future.
Another huge victory for Mr. Perfect tonight, even though he had some help from the outside. He's definitely making a name for himself in the Heavyweight Title picture. And, I don't think "The Hulkster" is going to let Jake "the Snake" get away with his interference.
The Survivor Series is shaping up to be a very entertaining show. Good job!

Rumours are circulating from the office of the WWF President Vince McMahon that he is considering turning Starcade 1990 into a Lethal Lottery / Battlebowl event, but at the moment he is undecided as he is not sure having 3 speciality pay per views in a row (Survivor Series, Starcade and Royal Rumble) is a good idea....watch this space.
One thing for sure is there will be some "Slammy Awards" given out at the end of the year in the following categories:
Wrestler of the Year Tag Team of the Year Feud of the Year Manager of the Year Match of the Year Pay Per View of the Year Top 30 of the Year (similar to PWI's top 500 list)
There will also be a full review of the year after Starcade.

Saturday Nights Main Event – October 1990
The Nasty Boys beat The Bushwhackers (7:22)
Nikita Koloff beat “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka (10:06)
Demolition beat Earthquake & Dino Bravo (15:58)
WWF Television Title Match

WWF World Tag Team Titles (2/3 falls)
The Road Warriors beat BrainBusters 2 falls to 0 (23:54)
WWF United States Title Match
The Ultimate Warrior beat “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase (17:27)
Notes:
Another fine night of action saw the crowning of new WWF World Tag Team Champions! Just a short time after entering the WWF, The Road Warriors have won the titles, besting the BrainBusters, winning the first two falls cleanly in a best of 3 falls match. Heenan and his men were stunned at the complete dominance of their opponents and were left to lick their wounds and Hawk and Animal celebrated in the ring.
The United States Champion, The Ultimate Warrior seems to have finally seen off the challenge of the Million Dollar Man as he got the victory after a fine match between the two.
The British Bulldog successfully defended the Television Title against former champion Bad News Brown, but it came at a price as he was attacked post match by The Mountie. The Canadian lawman clearly feels he is next in line for a shot at the title and he made his point emphatically tonight.
Rick Martel gained a massive win tonight as he managed to defeat the “Macho King” Randy Savage in an upset. This win will propel Martel up the WWF rankings and he will be looking to build on this success.
Demolition looked impressive after a brief hiatus, defeating the team of Earthquake and Dino Bravo, and Greg Valentine continued to excel as a face, defeated the luckless Haku.
The Warlord made short work of a demoralised Tito Santana in his first singles outing and equally impressive were Nikita Koloff and The Nasty Boys in their in ring debuts in the WWF.
The next big pay per view event is Halloween Havoc 1990 and it will be headlined by a WWF World Heavyweight Title Match between “Ravishing” Rick Rude and Mr Perfect as well as a return match for the BrainBusters, this time within the confines of a steel cage!!!

Halloween Havoc 1990
Demolition beat Orient Express (14:45)
Texas Tornado beat Haku (8:03)
WWF Television Title Match
British Bulldog beat Dino Bravo (13:00)
“Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase beat Big Boss Man (13:00)
WWF World Tag Team Titles Match (Cage Match)
BrainBusters beat The Road Warriors (12:57)
Nikita Koloff beat Brutus “Barber” Beefcake (13:15)
Jake “Snake” Roberts beat Hulk Hogan (11:15)
Greg “Hammer” Valentine beat Honky Tonk Man (16:43)
WWF United States Title Match
The Ultimate Warrior beat Earthquake (11:52)
Hart Foundation beat Power ‘n’ Glory (15:31)
WWF World Heavyweight Title Match
Mr Perfect beat “Ravishing” Rick Rude (27:35)
Notes:
The WWF has a new World Heavyweight Champion!!! Much to his delight (and even more so, the delight of his manager Bobby Heenan, Mr Perfect got a clean pinfall victory over the current champion, Rick Rude, to lift the World Title! The match was an absolute classic and WWF fans (and WWF President Vince McMahon) will surely be looking for more of the same in the very near future.
Another surprise was also a title change as, after just two weeks with the tag titles around their waists, The Road Warriors surprisingly lost in their first defence against the former champions the BrainBusters, completing a fantastic night for Bobby Heenan.
A clearly distracted Hulk Hogan suffered a rare clean pinfall defeat to his arch nemesis Jake “Snake” Roberts. Hogan appeared worried by Roberts’ previous comments about a nasty surprise waiting for him at Survivor Series and it cost him the match.
After a tough title defence against the massive Earthquake, the Ultimate Warrior was in no condition to defend himself from a vicious attack by “Dr Death” Steve Williams, who was clearly making a statement and putting himself firmly in line for a title shot against the United States champion!
Other victims of a surprise attack were Ax and Smash from Demolition. The Nasty Boys, Knobbs and Sags have clearly targeted Demolition as a way of making a statement in the WWF but the new arrivals may have bitten off much more than they can chew with the former WWF tag team champions.
Ted DiBiase, Greg Valentine and The Hart Foundation may all be looking for new challenges after fine victories tonight. Meanwhile Nikita Koloff continues to look menacing and the Texas Tornado may have turned a corner in his WWF career with a solid victory tonight.

Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior and Dusty Rhodes beat Mr Perfect, Jake “Snake” Roberts and “Macho King” Randy Savage (10:07)
Notes:
This edition of Saturday Nights Main Event was like a Survivor Series warm up as all matches featured opposing team members in the upcoming Thanksgiving Day extravaganza! The only title defence of the night saw The British Bulldog hold off the strong challenge from The Warlord to retain his title. Later in the night The Rockers gave the BrainBusters all they could handle and more as they took them to a time limit draw. Although it was a non-title match, Michaels and Janetty showed they could challenge the champions and will be looking for a chance at the titles very soon.
The main event saw a relatively easy win for the faces and the “Macho King’s” slump continued as he was pinned by the Warrior.
In their first meeting it was The Nasty Boys who came out on top against the former champions, Ax and Smash of Demolition in a minor upset. Meanwhile “Dr Death” Steve Williams looked very impressive as he defeated the Big Boss Man in a slugfest.
All attention will now turn to the next pay per view and the four huge 5 on 5 matches that will be taking place. No doubt there will be some surprises but stay tuned for a full report coming very soon……

Survivors: Mr Perfect, Honky Tonk Man, Haku and The Barbarian.
Notes:
An exhausting night, both for the wrestlers and the fans, saw some incredible action including some huge shocks and some very bizarre happenings!
In the tag team elimination match that opened the pay per view, there were some surprises as both The Bolsheviks and The Bushwhackers lasted much longer than anyone might have anticipated, but in the end it was the tag team champions, the BrainBusters who were the “sole” survivors in a terrific opening encounter.
“From Death Valley, The Undertaker!” With those 5 words, Jake “Snake” Roberts may have forever changed the future of the WWF. It was not only Hulk Hogan that got a massive shock as the mystery partner on Roberts’ and Koloff’s team was introduced (and it certainly was a nasty surprise for the Hulkster) but the whole of the WWF roster will be looking over their shoulder for ever more as The “Deadman” seemed impervious to any pain in his WWF debut. It didn’t matter that both his team captains were eliminated early as he, and a rejuvenated Earthquake, outlasted all others to win the match.
The following match started very impressively for the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase as he managed to eliminate both of his opposing co-captains (Bad News Brown was eliminated in between) in the first 3 falls of the match. However, the match turned from there as Rick Martel, Tito Santana and the InterContinental champion British Bulldog dominated the remainder of the match eliminating the remaining 4 members of the opposing team to win the match and all survive.
The final match of the night was perhaps the most perplexing. A surprising start saw the “Macho King” Randy Savage eliminated first, but after that Mr Perfect (and his team) completely took over the match. WWF Champion Mr Perfect eliminated 4 members of the opposition all on his own, before softening up former champion “Ravishing” Rick Rude, enabling fellow Heenan Family member Haku to gain the decisive pinfall. Perfect had every reason to celebrate after his very impressive performance for his team tonight.
As the dust settled on a gruelling night of action, it was clear that some wrestlers have advanced their WWF careers and others are left with plenty to think about. The most worried will probably be Hulk Hogan though, as he tries to think of a way to overcome the WWF’s latest acquisition, and possibly it’s most menacing in a long time, The Undertaker!!
WWF President Vince McMahon has announced that the next Saturday Nights Main Event in December will feature an 8 man 1 night tournament to determine the new InterContinental Champion, after Mr Perfect was forced to vacate the title when he became the WWF World Champion.

Notes:
Former Tag Team and Television Champion Rick Martel is the new WWF InterContinental Champion!! Martel fought off 7 other WWF wrestlers to win the one night tournament to determine the new champion, impressively defeating the “Macho King” in the final, having previously seen off Honky Tonk Man and Bad News Brown in style earlier in the night.
Meanwhile the British Bulldog successfully defended his Television title tonight, this time against The Barbarian in a tough defence for the man from the U.K. The challenges continue for the Bulldog as he is already scheduled to defend his title at Starcade against the No.1 contender, The Mountie.
The Undertaker made his singles debut in the WWF and looked very, very impressive as he saw off the veteran “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka in short order with the Pacific Islanders barely able to mount any offence. The Undertaker was led to the ring by his manager, a strange looking man by the name of Paul Bearer, who was also carrying what appeared to be an urn.
The BrainBusters just about managed to see off the challenge of The Rockers again tonight, this time with the titles on the line. Despite some close calls, Anderson and Blanchard managed to get the 1-2-3 and hold onto their titles again.
Finally, The Hart Foundation gained some revenge over Volkoff and Zhukov after The Bolsheviks surprisingly eliminated them from last month’s Survivor Series match.
WWF President Vince McMahon has announced the main event for the next pay-per-view, Starcade 90. The match will feature WWF Champion Mr Perfect defending his title against the United States Champion The Ultimate Warrior!!!! The winner of the match will face former champion “Ravishing” Rick Rude for the title at the Royal Rumble in January!!!!
Also at Starcade, Hulk Hogan will team up with Sgt Slaughter and Hacksaw Duggan to take on Jake Roberts, The Undertaker and Nikita Koloff in a massive 3 on 3 matchup!!!

Wouldn't have picked Martel to win the tournament, but it'll be interesting to see whats next for the new champ.

Notes:
The main event tonight featured a match of contrasting styles between two champions as Mr Perfect defended his title against the United States champion, The Ultimate Warrior. Just as the Warrior appeared to be ready to win the title for the first time, “Dr Death” Steve Williams disrupted the match, costing the Warrior the victory, much to the relief of Perfect and especially his manager, Bobby Heenan.
The previous match was a titanic 6 man battle but it was undoubtedly dominated by The Undertaker, who took it in turns to completely overpower each of his opponents in turn, leaving them helpless and out of ideas of how to deal with him. In the end victory for his team was a formality and Hulk Hogan left the ring, looking like a crushed and defeated man.
There were fine title defences for Rick Martel and The British Bulldog, who seems to have seen off all challengers at the current time and both men will be full of confidence going into the new year.
“Dr Death” made an impact in the first match of the night as he emerged triumphant from a tough 20 man Battle Royal to continue his very impressive start in the WWF. The Ultimate Warrior may be facing his toughest challenge yet, since he himself burst on the scene under 3 years ago.
Finally, in a rare “face” v “face” match, The Road Warriors once again claimed the title of No.1 contenders for the tag team titles, defeating Bret Hart and Jim Niedhart in a fine, fair match.

1990 – Year in Review
Following WWF owner Vince McMahon’s decision to purchase a number of the NWA’s titles and pay per view events at the end of 1989, proclaim himself as the new WWF President and subsequent decision to vacate all existing titles, 1990 was a busy and momentous year for all of the WWF’s deep roster as well as its massive fan base. The year started with four title tournaments to determine new champions for the WWF United States, WWF InterContinental, WWF Television and WWF World Tag Team champions, all leading up to the first big pay per view of the new WWF era, the Royal Rumble, where the main event was the Royal Rumble match itself, with the added bonus that the winner would become the new WWF World Heavyweight Champion. What followed was a historic and unforgettable year of action, surprises and most important of all, high quality wrestling!!
WWF World Heavyweight Title
The “Macho King” Randy Savage outlasted 29 opponents to win the WWF World Heavyweight Title for 2nd time at the 1990 Royal Rumble. His first challenger was former champion Hulk Hogan and their meeting was set as the main event of Wrestlemania! To the surprise of many, it was Savage who managed to hold on to his title, although he did have some additional help from Jake “Snake” Roberts in gaining the win. No sooner than that match was over than another challenger emerged from the pack. “Ravishing” Rick Rude, having recently fired his manager Bobby Heenan, and now hearing the cheers of the WWF fans for the first time, took on the “Macho King” throughout the summer of 1990. Rude managed to defeat Savage at The Great American Bash in June, and then held off Savage in a mandatory rematch at WrestleWar followed by a gruelling victory in a cage match at SummerSlam. Rude’s title reign lasted for 4 months. The man who ended it was his former Heenan Family stable mate, and WWF InterContinental Champion Mr Perfect, the main cause for the friction that led to Rude firing Heenan back in April. Their match at Halloween Havoc was a true wrestling classic, which ended in a surprisingly clean victory for the Perfect One, to begin his first ever WWF World Heavyweight Title reign. The final title match of the year saw a successful first defence for Mr Perfect at Starcade 90, against the United States champion, The Ultimate Warrior. Many times during the match it looked like a new champion would be crowned and the WWF would have its third 1st time World Champion of the year, but in the end it was the interference of the No.1 contender for the United States title, “Dr Death” Steve Williams that cost the Warrior the match and allowed Mr Perfect to hold onto the title heading into 1991. The first challenge for the champion in the New Year will once again come from former champion “Ravishing” Rick Rude, and the two will face off again at Royal Rumble 1991.
WWF United States Title
Former WWF InterContinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior began the year as United States champion. Following a squash victory over “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase’s valet Virgil, he faced off against the man himself at Wrestlemania. Unfortunately for the Warrior, a new champion was crowned and DiBiase won his first title in the WWF, much to his amusement. After seeing off “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and then King of the Ring winner “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes at Great American Bash, DiBiase faced up to the prospect of facing the Warrior again for the title, this at SummerSlam. It was the Warrior’s turn to emerge victorious on this occasion as he regained the title with surprising ease at the first time of asking. The Warrior defeated DiBiase in a mandatory rematch before seeing off the mighty Earthquake at Halloween Havoc in the final United States title match of 1990. As the year ends, The Ultimate Warrior has his hands full with the latest No.1 contender to the title, “Dr Death” Steve Williams, who has targeted the Warrior (first in collusion with the Million Dollar Man and then for his own purposes), ever since he arrived in the WWF.
WWF InterContinental Title
The InterContinental Title scene was dominated for most of the year by Mr Perfect. Having won the tournament at the start of the year to become champion, followed by taking on Bobby Heenan as manager, Mr Perfect held off all challenges until the Great American Bash in June when he lost the title to newcomer the Texas Tornado. However, this loss was quickly avenged at the first opportunity as Perfect reclaimed the title just one month later at WrestleWar. He held on to the strap for another 4 months until he was forced to vacate the title when he became WWF World Champion at Halloween Havoc. A one night, 8 man tournament was held at December’s Saturday Nights Main Event and it was Rick Martel who emerged victorious, defeating “Macho King” Randy Savage in the final. A successful title defence (once again against Savage) followed at Starcade, leaving Martel possibly looking for new challenges heading into 1991.
WWF Television Title
This title saw the most action during 1990 with no fewer than 16 title matches throughout the course of the year and 4 different champions – and they couldn’t be more different from each other! Rick Martel won the tournament in January to become the first WWF Television Champion. Following a face turn at Wrestlemania (to save his former tag team partner Tito Santana from the Twin Towers), Martel continued to look strong as champion, holding off both members of the Twin Towers in successive title defences. It came as a big shock when he did lose the title at Great American Bash to the Honky Tonk Man no less! This loss was quickly avenged a month later but Martel was to lose the title again at the next time of asking, this time against Bad News Brown. The loner from Harlem held off Martel in a rematch but was not so fortunate at Fall Brawl as he was defeated by British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, even though the Bulldog had had to get past The Mountie earlier in the night. The Bulldog remained champion for the rest of the year as he was successful in 5 successive pay per view matches (a run broken only by the Survivor Series pay per view), defeating Brown, Dino Bravo, The Barbarian, The Warlord and The Mountie. The Bulldog is looking very strong as champion at the end of the year, especially as it is not obvious who his next challenger will be.
WWF World Tag Team Titles
A highly exciting, volatile area, the tag team division saw no shortage of drama throughout the year as some established pairings gave it everything to reach the summit and hold onto the belts during 1990. The Colossal Connection regained the titles they had been forced to vacate in the January tournament. Then there followed an elimination tournament to find the No.1 contenders to meet Andre and Haku at Wrestlemania. Ax and Smash of Demolition won the tournament and then dethroned the champions in an emotional match to win their 3rd titles. The climax of the match also saw the breakup of the Colossal Connection as Andre turned his back on Haku and manager Bobby Heenan and back to the fans in what was to be his penultimate appearance in a WWF ring. Unfortunately for Demolition their reign was shortlived as they lost to The British Bulldogs in their first defence at Wrestlefest. The Bulldogs held on as champions until WrestleWar in July when a very unfortunate situation saw the champions lose the titles to the BrainBusters. The loss was compounded by the news that the Dynamite Kid had suffered a career ending injury meaning he had to retire with immediate effect, causing the WWF to lose one its best loved tag teams of all time. Bobby Heenan’s men had no time to rest on their laurels however, as at the following Saturday Nights Main Event, a special Tag Team Battle Royal to determine the No.1 contenders saw the legendary Road Warriors storm their WWF debut to become the team next in line for a shot at the champions. After one time limit draw Hawk and Animal were successful at the 2nd time of asking beating Anderson and Blanchard in straight falls in a rare 2 out of 3 falls title match at October’s Saturday Nights Main Event. However, the BrainBusters regained the titles two weeks later at Halloween Havoc and remained champions through to the end of the year, despite getting quite a scare against The Rockers at Starcade. Once again they will next be challenged by The Road Warriors, as they defeated The Hart Foundation in an excellent No.1 contenders match at Starcade.
Other News
1990 was an unforgettable year for former WWF champion Hulk Hogan, and not for good reasons. The Hulkster saw two of his staunchest allies – Jake “Snake” Roberts and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper go back to their rulebreaking pasts as they teamed up with the sole intention of ending Hulkamania once and for all. They have not quite been successful, indeed Piper lost a “loser leaves WWF” match to Hogan at SummerSlam, but they (with the help of The Powers of Pain and Mr Fuji) have certainly pushed Hogan further than he has ever been pushed before. As the year ends though, Hulk may be facing his biggest challenge yet in the shape of the fearsome newcomer The Undertaker, who appears unbeatable and is charting a course straight at Hogan as we enter 1991.
The King of the Ring tournament in May was won in impressive style by “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, but it turned out to be one of very few highlights during the year for Rhodes as he struggled to achieve any consistency in 1990, leaving his future unclear.
Five tag teams split during the course of the year, all for differing reasons. The demise of the British Bulldogs has been mentioned but the year also saw the end of The Fabulous Rougeaus, as Raymond Rougeau was fired for a no show leaving Jacques to reinvent himself as The Mountie. The Powers of Pain amicably decided to go their separate ways and try their hands at singles wrestling, both with new managers. The Twin Towers were forced to split as Akeem was the loser of the fall in a “loser leaves WWF” match against Rick Martel and Tito Santana, leaving the Big Boss Man in the singles ranks, ultimately leading to a face turn for the former corrections officer. Finally, the split of Rhythm ‘n’ Blues was not so amicable as Honky Tonk Man and manager Jimmy Hart turned on Greg “Hammer” Valentine, with Valentine hearing the cheers of the fans for the first time in a very, very long time. One new team was formed in 1990 as Hercules decided to turn his back on the fans once again, forming a new partnership with Paul Roma called Power ‘n’ Glory under the leadership of Slick.
As well as Roddy Piper, the Dynamite Kid, Akeem and Raymond Rougeau, other departures during the year included Andre the Giant, who decided the time had come to retire from wrestling. Also leaving were the Blue Blazer, “Rugged” Ronnie Garvin, the Red Rooster and Hillbilly Jim. Arriving in the WWF were Sgt Slaughter, Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich, Paul Roma, Nikita Koloff, “Dr Death” Steve Williams, The Undertaker, The Road Warriors, The Nasty Boys and The Orient Express. All of the newcomers made an impact on the WWF during the year, including the Road Warriors and Texas Tornado winning titles (which they subsequently lost).
As the year comes to a close WWF fans will be looking forward to another year of tremendous matches and all kinds of thrills and spills in 1991.

27. Big Boss Man – Lost his partner then embraced the fans, but needs to regain momentum and focus.

9. “Texas Tornado” Kerry Von Erich – Burst onto the scene with a short InterContinental title reign but struggled of late.
8. Jake “Snake” Roberts – Turned on the Hulkster and the fans, looked impressive in new role and by introducing The Undertaker continues to strike fear into the hearts of many.
7. “Macho King” Randy Savage – Another WWF World title reign thanks to impressive win at the Rumble, but lost his direction since losing the belt.
6. “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase – Challenging in the upper echelons of the WWF all year, topped off with a stint as United States champion but needs to re-focus in 1991.
5. “British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith – Made the transition from tag teams to singles ranks seamlessly, topped off with the Television Title and seeing off all challengers.
