The Big Event-Nashville, Tennessee-1/27/13
Charlie Platt and "Bullet" Bob Armstrong welcome all the viewers to The Big Event from Nashville, Tennessee. Since we are in Nashville, the night started with "Little" Jimmy Dickens with his rendition of the National Anthem. And he didn't even lipsync. A fan was seen holding a sign saying "Country Singers Sing It Real!". Charlie Platt started hyping the main event coming up featuring Dusty Rhodes getting his shot at the MWF title against "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. But the night will start out with JYD taking on Jeff Jarrett.
Jeff Jarrett pinned Junk Yard Dog with the Forward Russian Legsweep in 0:13:22.
Rating: * 1/4
[Debra McMichael interfered against Junk Yard Dog.]Good match to start out the night, but the crowd wasn't really into it. Debra McMichael almost cost Jeff a win, but he did defeat JYD which will boost him in the rankings.
Pam Oliver once again joins the MWF as a backstage announcer and has with her Sgt. Slaughter and Corporal Kirchner, known as The Marines. She ask them their plans for the MWF. The Sarge yell attention, which causes even Pam to snap to it! He says that tonight, those commie Russians are going to see that The Marines are for real, and that they are goiong for the gold on down the road! Sarge tells the Russians to get ready for an All-American beat down! And thats...AN ORDER!
Charlie Platt and Bob Armstrong then sends it to the ring for the next match:
The Young Guns (Adam Pierce and AJ Styles) defeated
Abdullah The Butcher and Baron Von Raschke when A. Pierce pinned Baron after
a back elbow in 0:19:49.
Rating: *** 1/4AJ Styles and Adam Pierce, now calling themselves The Young Guns, showed the New Age Management that they would not lay down and let them walk over them. Baron tried to end it early with an armbar subnmission on Pierce, but no chance on that one. Of course it wouldn't be an Abdullah the Butcher match with out blood, and AJ Styles was wearing the crimson mask for the match. The Young Guns's speed took over late in the match, and one back elbow later, Gary Hart's team went down in defeat.
Pam Oliver is once again backstage. This time she has with her "The Living Legend" Bruno Sammartino, and she ask him about his upcoming match against "Superstar" Billy Graham. Bruno says that it is a pleasure to be associated with the MWF, and that he is thankful for the chance to become the #1 contender for the World Championship. He tells Pam that he and Billy Graham have been around a few times, and that he is ready and will win the match. Pam thanks Bruno and sends it back to Charlie and Bob.
Bob Armstrong hypes The Young Guns and says that they deserve a chance at the belts. Charlie Platt agrees with Armstrong's statement, but now it is time for another chapter in the new Cold War as The Marines take on The Russians:
The Marines (Corporal Kirchner and Sgt. Slaughter) defeated
The Russians (Ivan Koloff and Vladimir Koloff) when Slaughter defeated I. Koloff
when I. Koloff passed out in the Cobra Clutch Sleeperhold in 0:06:00.
Rating: * 3/4The crowd rallied behind The Marines all through the match (of course). The Russians stepped up their game a bit because they knew that they were in for a huge fight tonight, and The Marines delivered on that one. The match ended with The Cobra Clutch putting Ivan Koloff to sleep. Some fans started singing God Bless the USA as The Russians ran back to the dressing rooms holding their ears.
Pam Oliver is backstage again as she now has Hulk Hogan and Sting. She welcomes Hulk to the MWF, and ask what his goals are in the MWF. After Hulk calls Pam "Precious" Pam, Hulk says that his main goal is to become the MWF World Champion. He places a direct challenge to the winner of tonight's match between Anderson and Dusty Rhodes. But tonight, he and The Stinger are going to show Flair and Windham that the Horsemen are not the top dogs in the MWF. Pam turns to Sting, who shouts "IT'S SHOWTIME!". Pam says indeed it is as she sends it to the ring for the next match.
[MWF World Title #1 Contender Match]: Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Bruno Sammartino defeated Billy Graham when Billy Graham passed out in
a Canadian backbreaker in 0:07:54.
Rating: ***Bruno Sammartino and Billy Graham renew an age old war from the WWWF days. The last time the met, the WWWF belt was on the line, which "Superstar" snatched from Bruno. This time, the winner moves on to a World title shot at the end of February. Tonight, Bruno was on a mission to erase that loss and to gain traction here. At the 7:53 mark, Bruno caught Graham in his famous Canadian backbreaker. Sixteen seconds later, it was all over. Bruno moves on to take on the champion.
Pam Oliver now has all members of The Horsemen with her. Before she can ask anything, Ric Flair yells "Whoooo!" and tells Pam that she missed out the last time they were in the same city, but tonight, he has a special seat for her on the Lear Jet. Pam seems unimpressed. Flair then ask did he just hear Hogan and Sting say that it was showtime? He says that it is "HORSEMEN TIME!", because Hogan and Sting have never teamed, and that they will go down in defeat. Now it's Arn Anderson's turn.
Arn tells Dusty Rhodes that tonight is a huge time for wrestling. Dusty called him the de facto leadeer of The Horsemen, he doesn't know about that. But Arn says that what he is sure of is that he is holding the MWF World title, and that will not change tonight! Arn congratulates Bruno Sammartino on a job well done in becoming the new #1 contender, but that is the easy part. Now he has to step in the ring with "The Enforcer" and adds that it would be an honor to defend the belt against "The Living Legend"! He then addresses Hulk Hogan. he tells Hulk that he didn't think that he would have the gall to challenge for the belt and only been here for a total of two matches. He tells Hogan that unless he is ranked #1, or wins a #1 contenders match like Bruno did, then he doesn't get a shot! Arn tells Dusty Rhodes to get ready, because their match comes up soon.
[MWF TV Title #1 Contender Match]: Number-One-Contenders-Match:
Magnum T.A. pinned Jason Gory after a powerslam in 0:00:35.

If you blinked, you missed this one. While Pam gets set for another interview, Charlie Platt tells fans that those in attendance tonight, the tickets tonight is also good for Monday night, where the MWF will put on a special card for the Nashville fans. He also pushes the idea that the MWF will start going on the road in the month of February for their Monday night shows. He now sends it to Pam Oliver, who now has The Masked Superstar and The Blue Blazer, known as The Masked Avengers.
Masked Superstar tells The Assassins to be ready because this is a Falls Count Anywhere match, which means anything goes, and that a pin can happen anywhere in the arena! Blue Blazer keeps it short and sweet by saying that he came to the MWF after finishing up a run in Georgia, and that the Assassins had better watch it, because he intends to make a name for himself here in the MWF. Next match is ready.
[MWF Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Match]: Number-One-Contenders-Match:
The New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn and Jesse James) defeated
The Dead Wrestling Society: Krimson & Kirst (Kirst and Krimson) when B. Gunn
defeated Krimson by countout in 0:13:27.
Rating: * 1/4The New Age Outlaws came out to the ring, and Roaddog started the festivities for the match:
James-"What's up Nashville! (cheep pop) We gonna kick this thing Country Doggie Style! (another cheep pop) Lllllllladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Children of all ages! The MWF proudly presents to you it's soon to be...TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WORRRRLD! The Roaddog Jesse James...Baddass Billy Gun! THE NEW AGE OUTLAWS!" (even bigger cheep pop)
Gunn holding a guitar-"Now, if you're not down with that...WE GOT TWO WORDS FOR YA! STRUM IT!" (glad he toned it down for the Nashville fans)
The DWS can't seem to get any traction or respect in the MWF, and tonight was no exception as they at least could have challenged for the belts if they had won. But Billy Gun hit The One And Only on Krimson on the outside, knocking him out, and gaining a countout victory.
Bob Armstrong tells Charlie Platt that he believes that the DWS may be a little more of a handful than the Outlaws would care to admit, because he points out that no pinfall occured. Platt agrees to a point with Armstrong.
Pam is now with one half of the former Rock and Roll Express, Ricky Morton, along with Paul E. Dangerously. Paul E points out that even though Magnum T.A. has a FUTURE MWF TV title shot, that tomorrow night, Morton has his shot at the title. Ricky agrees with Paul E. and says that whoever wins tonight, they had better be ready, because tomorrow night, he will be the new TV champion. Then he turns his attention to tonight's match. He tells Robert that tonight is a Falls Count Anywhere match, and that it will be very brutal! He says that he knows what Gibson will do to win a match, but that he has learned a few new tricks, so be ready! Pam says that the next match is ready.
Dick Murdoch pinned The Destroyer with the Gourdbuster in 0:14:06.
Rating: ***The best match Dick Murdoch has had here in the MWF thus far. And being in the ring with a legend like The Destroyer was a huge plus. He has set himself up for a future TV title shot at least.
Pam now has Gary Hart with all of his members of New Age Management. He first says that he is highly dissapointed with Abdullah and Baron for losing a match that, on paper, they should have won, and he brates them for that. But now his undivided attention is on the Loser Leaves MWF match Stomper has against Andre the Giant! He tells Andre that he had better have his bags packed already, because Stomper will give him a one way flight back to France! And he warns Bobby Heenan to stay out of it because he will not hesitate to slap the blond out of his hair! Pam sends it back to the ring.
.
The Horsemen: Flair & Windham (Barry Windham and Ric Flair) and
Hulk Hogan and Sting battled to a draw in 0:20:00.
Rating: **
[Harley Race interfered against Hulk Hogan.]Not as good of a match as fans had thought, eventhough neither team could get their way. Even with Harley adding his two cents, the match turned out to be a draw. Pam is backstage with Andre the Giant and his manager, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Heenen tells Pam that he heard what gary Hart said earlier. Bobby tells Hart that he wants to, quote, slap the blond out of my hair? Well think again pal! He warns Hart that if he sticks his nose in the match, he'll come over and slap hair on that bald head! He tells Hart that Andre doesn't have his bags packed, that he is quite settled in, thank you! Andre adds that Stomper is out of here tonight! We are now ready for the first of two Falls Count Anywhere matches.
[Special Grudge Match]: Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
The Masked Avengers (The Masked Superstar and The Blue Blazer) defeated
The Assassins (Assassin #1 and Assassin #2) when Superstar pinned Assassin #2
after hitting him with brass knuckles in 0:15:08.
Rating: ****
[The Destroyer interfered against The Masked Superstar.]One of the two best matches of the night! Where do we begin? Blue Blazer started the fun off by using a 2x4 on Assassin #1, and then sending him flying over a row of chairs where the fans are. The Masked Superstar had a personal vendetta against Assassin #2 and whipped him "Like A Government Mule" with a satellite dish, which gave great reception, a ladder, a television camera, a pair of tongs, and, a rarity in wrestling, a set of brass knuckles! As the beatings progressed, The Destroyer came down to the ring. Don't know why, but he did! Assassin #2 tried to gain a little measure of revenge as he loaded his mask and gave Masked Superstar a huge loaded mask headbutt! Didn't do any good though. Destroyer even gave Assassin #2 another pair of knuckles, but Masked Superstar wrestled them away and hit Assassin #2, then pinned him for the three count! But what is the connection between The Assassins and The Destroyer as he and Assassin #1 had to help poor Assassin #2 back to the dressing room.
Pam Oliver is now with The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. Animal tells Pam that tonight will be the Warriors night and that the MWF Tag Team titles will be with them! Hawk says that tonight will be no time limit! That means more beatings and more gore for The Midnights! The Warriors can end it anytime they want! Paul sums it up by saying that The Midnight Express only has a few minutes to enjoy being the tag team champions, because it all comes to an end tonight! Pam send it back to Charlie Platt. He and Bob Armstrong hypes the match before and says that the MWF has not heard the last of that war! Now on to the next match.
[Special Grudge Match]: Falls-Count-Anywhere Match:
Ricky Morton pinned Robert Gibson after a bodyslam in 0:11:46.
Rating: ****
[Paul E. Dangerously and Stan Lane interfered against Robert Gibson.]The second best match of the night! A lot more wrestling in this one, but objects did come into play. Ricky Morton got a hardhat from somewhere and tried to use it on Robert. But Robert snatched it and used it on Morton to go for an early pin attempt. After some great wrestling, Paul E threw Ricky his telephone, which was traded back and forth with both guys using it! Ricky then found a noose from under the ring (what is a noose doing under the ring?) and so he and Robert had some fun with that for a while! The match ended with a bodyslam outside on the cold concrete floor followed up with a three count!
Pam Oliver is now with Austin Idol. Idol says that he has turned back challenger after challenger since he became the TV champion. He tells Tully Blanchard that he respects him and his reputation. But in the end, he will still be holding the TV belt. Pam sends it to Charlie Platt and Bob Armstrong who start hyping up the MWF Tag Title match coming up. Armstrong believes that this may be the Road Warriors last chance. We are ready for the next match, which is the Loser Leaves MWF match.

Rating: -*** 1/2
[Bobby Heenan interfered against Mongolian Stomper.]The reports from the concession stands is that the highest hotdog sales came from this match. The fans who actually wanted to watch this snoozer of a match started a "boring" chant. Stomper somehow took two falls against Andre using the Cobra Clutch. The match ended when Bobby Heenan cost his man the match by jumping in the ring and hitting Stomper with a steel chair. Andre is now gone from the MWF, and almost nobody knew about it!
Pam Oliver is now with the Midnight Express and Paul E.Dangerously. Paul tells Pam that the Midnights are tired of defending the belts against the Road Warriors! And that this match will be their last chance at the titles, because there are more worthy teams out there who deserve shots at the belts. Tonight, after this match, the Midnight Express moves on to other teams! Charlie Platt wakes up a loudly snoring Bob Armstrong and tells him that the next match is in the ring.
Austin Idol defeated Tully Blanchard by disqualification in 0:03:46.
Rating: * 1/2
(Austin Idol retained the MWF World Television Title.)
[Harley Race interfered against Austin Idol.]This match was a very good match. The only problem was that the majority of the fans were coming from the concession stands, the restrooms, and waking up from a sound sleep from the last match. The powers that be told them to wrap it up fast, so Harley Race interfered and cost Blanchard his chance at the title!
Pam Oliver is now with "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes. Dusty tells Pam that this is a huge match for a plumber's son from Austin, Texas! Tonight, he gets his shot at the most highly sought after title in professional wrestling today! The Road Warriors just can't seem to defeat the Midnight Express! This may be their last title match for a while...unless Paul Ellering can come up with a plan.
