After reading some of the circuits on this forum, I have come to the conclusion that there is no right or wrong way to do a circuit. Some like to go back and replay what happened in years past, trying to be a correct as possible. Some like to just free hand it and use wrestlers living and dead and through the years, which is me.
And, while some like to comment after every match, I like to give the results and then go over the major happenings that happened on the card. It's what I call "magazine" or "newsy" style. But I wonder if anybody else thinks there is no set right or wrong way of doing things here as well?

I think the general consensus here is to write for yourself and hope others might enjoy it. We all have our preferences for how to do things, but if you enjoy what you're doing, it really doesn't matter too much what I think of it. My circuit has almost reached 5 real time and over 20 years of TNM time. Not everyone was into the time frame, starting in 1963, but I stuck with it and really love doing it. I think it's grown into one of, if not the longest fully written out circuit.
So, everyone should just write what they feel like writing and go from there. It's nice we've seen a little resurgence recently. Not a lot, but anyone posting is good. I wish everyone would feedback everyone more (I'm not excluded - there are circuits I still don't feedback that I probably should), because whether you write for yourself or not, it's always nice to see that someone else was reading too.

There is no right way to write your circuit. I like some detail but not too much. I'm big on a good format, some interesting angles and wrestlers, and something that is easy to read with good grammar and spelling.
It's also important that a few cards are posted quickly and then regularly from then on. It's hard to remember what exactly is going on if a card isn't posted at least once a week.
I do agree with Ryan that this board needs to up the feedback (myself included). I know that we all say we write for our own enjoyment which is mostly true, but it always feels good to see someone respond to your circuit even if the feedback is negative. I need to do a better job of it as do most people.
I think a good rule of thumb is to try and at least give feedback to the people that try their best to feedback your stuff. It can't always happen, a simple "Nice card." doesn't do a whole lot, but if you're enjoying something, it's nice to let someone know.
Most of us are guilty of this though. It is partly why this board isn't more lively.

I know i am definitely guilty of not giving feedback. I'm with the consensus here that, in order to liven the place up, we should all "try" to do better with that. It might give people the encouragement to post more regularly...

I too have been guilty of not giving feedback, even when I did not post any cards. I will give more feedback as well.

Feedback is important. I am on board as well to up my game in that department. I do read a lot of circuits and don't respond. I always like getting feedback on my fed, and sometimes don't do it in return. This can be my new years resolution!

Plus, I don't try to make it a hard-fast rule, but I'm much more apt to feedback someone who gives me feedback. I know it's petty, but it's hard not to think, "Well, he never feedbacks ME, so..."

Haha. Oh most definitely. Why do you think I'm a comic?

The circuits I have had most success for have either been in a MP where you have to do a card a certain time or circuits where you are just writing for yourself. I do like big match writeups for big time matches when I do cards.
As far as feedback...I am terrible for it. I do read pretty much all the circuits and comment infrequently. However I think if I posted a circuit here I would comment more people everyone likes comments lol

Haha. Oh most definitely. Why do you think I'm a comic? I thought you became a comic because no one commented on your circuits. *shrugs*

A good, clean writing style and presentation has always been so important for me. For new circuits, or circuits I'm just starting to read, I like to scan before I really delve into it. If your write-ups are really hard to scan, they'll be even harder to actually read. That could just be me.
I'm as guilty as everyone else for not leaving feedback. I'll be reading, and I'll start with some feedback only to find out I don't really have a lot to say. So I'll just not post anything. I really should at least post to let them know I'm reading and what I like about the circuit. It's always encouraging getting feedback of any kind.

First let me state, your 100% correct there is no wrong way to run your own circuit.. I myself like fictional characters (sometimes tossing in real guys which kinda gives sort of a indy feel to things) but I like to keep things basic, just stick with the wrestling, not into storylines... I think they take away from wrestling and at times storylines get kinda dull boring and take away from things... No offense guys I'm not complaining about yours I'm just saying stuff like WWE I have read some rather good storylines from some of the fellow members here.. I tend not to post my cards up here but on my site kwoaoa.vze.comYes I'm back to running on a regular site not a blog.. Can do more with a site.. I know I haven't been around much or updated the site much but it'll get there shortly.. The end of the year is always a sad/busy time for myself and to start off 2013 with my computer crashing and having to buy a new one isn't the way i chose to start things.. But the computer I have now is better than I did have so I'm hoping to get things up and running again.. Hopefully..
