Notes:
Another amazing night of UCW action saw The Ministry of Evil maintain their tight grip on the UCW titles!
In the main event, a dastardly plan conceived and executed by their ringleader, UCW Champion Jake Roberts, saw his men somehow get hold of the keys to the cage and exert total control of his match, brutally punishing the “Nature Boy” while the other Horsemen looked on from the outside, helpless. Eventually, Roberts tired of his fun and after 3 consecutive DDT’s, he covered Flair with one finger, retaining his title!
The King of the Ring tournament produced some intense action as Sting fell at the final hurdle to the new “King”, “Ravishing” Rick Rude!! Sting had already fought two long, tough matches and despite his best efforts, had very little left against a well rested Rude! Rude had received a bye in the semi finals of the tourney, thanks to the double elimination of “Macho Man” Randy Savage and The Undertaker in the first round. It seemed as though The Undertaker was solely intent on ensuring Savage did not win the tournament, leaving Rude to take advantage. However, the Ministry of Evil’s plan seemed to backfire as the “Ravishing” One announced he was not bothered who came out on top in the World Title match later in the night, he was now the No.1 contender and it was his intention to take the title, whoever is the champion!!
The Great Muta managed to hold off the determined challenge from Tully Blanchard tonight, ultimately using the ropes for leverage to gain the pinfall.
Another big talking point was the fallout from the World Tag Team Titles Match. Ax and Smash of Demolition kept a firm hold of their titles, due in part to the dissention within their opponents, The British Bulldogs. That dissention erupted after the match was over as a clearly frustrated Dynamite Kid took his frustrations out on his tag team partner, brutally attacking him with a chair and anything else he could get hold of, leaving Davey Boy lying in the ring, a bloody mess!!!
Finally, Barry Windham managed to win a Battle Royal involving the rest of the current UCW roster – his victory helped by the fact that two of the favourites, the Big Boss Man and “Dr Death” Steve Williams – were only interested in fighting each other, ultimately ending their chances of victory by eliminating each other. This left Windham alone with Jerry Lawler and he quickly despatched of him to gain the victory.
As the dust settled on this massive pay-per-view, UCW Commissioner Harley Race announced that the Great American Bash at the end of July would be headlined by WarGames!!!!!
