Here we are in the last match before Superclash and Blackjack Lanza started off with a big win over Dick Brower!
Spiros Arion and Jay Strongbow, the former tag team champions, did battle with The Gladiators and the winners would get a title shot at Superclash. They battled to a draw but Arion's injury he suffered meant that the Gladiators would face Wahoo McDaniel and Ray Stevens at Superclash.
Speaking of Wahoo McDaniel he beat Pedro Morales after Fritz Von Erich tossed him a frying pan and nailed Morales with it.
In the main event, Funk and Gagne beat Crusher and Bruiser.

Match observations:
Superclash is here in what the MCW hopes will be an annual event.
The opener took on two of the toughest tag teams in the MCW. The Fury took on Baron Mikel and Butcher Vachon. This match was not pretty and anyone who wanted to watch some technical wrestling this was not the place for you. All four men got into a brawl in the ring the MCW official had seen enough and threw the match out!
Gene Kiniski and Johnny Weaver got two victories. Dominic DeNucci was scheduled to face Bob Ellis, but DeNucci apparently had issues getting to the arena due to the snow in the Minnesota area. Baron Mikel took his place, apparently did not get enough action in the opener, and beat Ellis via countout when he tossed Ellis into the ringpost.
The Gladiators of Larry Hennig and Stan Stasiak are the NEW MCW World Champions! With Spiros Arion injured, he and Strongbow could not compete and two of arguably the toughest men in the MCW beat the champions when Stan Stasiak hit Stevens with the Heart Punch.
What does Pedro Morales have to do to have a fair fight with anyone of the Von Erichs? Morales was winning the fight and Von Erich hit a low blow and the referee ended the match via DQ. The Von Erich's scurried away and this is far from over.
In what might be the most anticipated match of the Superclash, MCW Mid-West Champion Nick Bockwinkel, fresh off his "injury", took on Blackjack Lanza. I thought the roof was going to explode when Lanza ran to the ring and slide in to start the match with the champion before the announcer could introduce both men. In what was a masterful performance, Bockwinkel use his techniques and submission moves to wear down Lanza and Lanza countered with brute strength. Bockwinkel had Lanza setup for his patented Piledriver, but he could not get Lanza up and Lanza countered with a backdrop and then rang off the ropes and hit a diving shoulderblock to the champion. Lanza hooked both legs and Bockwinkel kicked out just after the referre's hand hit the mat for the three count! The Crowd EXPLODED as Blackjack Lanza finally was able to wrestle the title away from Bockwinkel! Bockwinkel protested the decision but Blackjack Lanza is the NEW MCW MID-WEST CHAMPION!
Pat Patterson and Dory Funk Jr. had a tough act to follow as they did battle in the match after the Mid-West Championship. Pat Patterson got the win.
In a match that was a year in the making. The first MCW event Verne Gagne beat Dick the Bruiser for the World Title after Bruiser broke his leg. Since then The Crusher and Dick the Bruiser had questioned Gagne's regin. Well no longer as Gagne was able to beat Dick the Bruiser in a fantastic match. Gagne counted a backdrop and flipped over and grabbed Bruiser in the Gagne Sleeper in the centre of the ring. With nowhere to go The Bruiser submitted and Gagne retained his coveted World Title.

Bockwinkel says he deserves a rematch at the champion. The crowd booes as no one likes Bockwinkel. Lanza, being the honourable man, says that if Bockwinkel wins tonight against Pedro Morales and later in the month in St. Paul against Dory Funk Jr., he will give him another shot!

Card rating: ** 3/4
Match observations:
Crusher and Bruiser began 1964 with there sights focused on the Tag Team Titles. Rumours swirled in the arena that they wanted the first crack at The Gladiators. To prove there worth they easily dispatched the team of Ellis and Woods.
The Great Kabuki took on Johnny Weaver in his first match and quickly dispatched him.
Blackjack Lanza came to the ring for his first Mid-West Championship defense against Baron Mikel. Lanza looked good and beat him with a Piledriver, maybe a dig at Nick Bockwinkel?
The Gladiators made there first MCW World Tag Team Championship defense against former champion Jay Strongbow and his new partner Dominic DeNucci. It was noted that Spiros Arion has left the MCW and Strongbow found a new partner. However they were not successful in there first match as the Gladiators retained the titles.
Nick Bockwinkel came to the ring for his match with Pedro Morales. Morales has had his problems with the Von Erichs and Bockwinkel was the beneficiary of Fritz's distraction that led him to hitting the Piledriver. After the match Morales said in St. Paul he is going to bring someone in to help him take down the Von Erichs.
Main event time as Verne Gagne took Ray Stevens with the MCW World Heavyweight Title on the line. Wahoo McDaniel accompanyied his partner to the ring. Wahoo tried to assist Stevens by tossing him some brass knucks, but Gagne intercepted them and used them to finish off Stevens!
