You need to import the converted.axf. I don't have the old plug-in, so I can't tell you how to do that, but you don't rename it to arena.dat. There should be an option someplace to import arenas.

I'll take a look here using the old plug-in in a second.
EDIT: Apparently you needed the separate editor program to import and export.
So I updated my UnUpdater. See the next post.

Hahaha. I'm looking at why it goes into gibberish mode. Apparently if you don't like SCREAMING the country, the program has a shit fit and throws a gibberish temper tantrum. So all my nicely capitalized use of Canada and United States were too polite for such a BITCHIN' PLUGIN! I adjusted the "UnUpdater" to export the countries in ALL CAPS FOR MAXIMUM AWESOMEOSITY and it worked just fine with no gibberish. I also changed the UnUpdater to just export to an arena.dat file. You have two choices with this file: 1) You don't mind losing all the arenas in the old file, simply move the new file to the Plugins/Arena/ folder and tell it to overwrite. 2) You want to keep all the old arenas as well, copy everything starting from the second line using notepad from the new arena.dat and paste it into the old arena.dat also using notepad. Here's the link: www.mediafire.com/?pzedfzn6rghhdivI've included an already converted (and tested) arena.dat. that only has my WWF 90s Arenas in it. You can either replace or append the original arena.dat file depending on which you'd rather do. One more thing worth nothing: DO NOT RUN THIS FROM YOUR /Plugins/Arena/ FOLDER! It's set up to delete the "arena.dat" file from whatever folder it's run from to avoid a runtime error. Yep, that is SUPER LAZY PROGRAMMING, and there's much better ways to do it, but this is a quick bandaid for those of you still using the older arena plugin who want to make use of whatever arena lists I might release for the new plug-in.

Thanks again for all of the time you've invested at my request.
I'll admit the thought of CAPS LOCKing everything HAS crossed my mind, yet seemed too wild in order to work.
Which brings me to this: the converter changes the file alright, yet isn't causing the CAPS LOCK effect via the export. Any possible solution to this one?

All the conversion does is reducing the gaps between lines to no gaps at all.

The arena names and city locations don't need to be caps locked, so they aren't.
the COUNTRY needs to be caps locked in order for the plugin to correctly identify it.
Thanks to the strange decisions of the original author, you get to look at horribly formatted lines like this:
Glens Falls Civic Center Glens Falls, New York, UNITED STATES
I'll throw a toggle on the UnUpdater that will export EVERYTHING in caps just for the sake of uniformity.

All the conversion does is reducing the gaps between lines to no gaps at all. It does more than that. My entries look like this: Arena Name Capacity Location
Next Arena ... Ryan's look like this: Arena Name Location Size Country [space]Capacity Next Arena ... So the steps that my program takes to to convert the data is: 1) It takes the capacity and figures out (based the sizes:capacity ratio found in the original data) if the arena is Big or Small. 2) Then it truncates the country on the end of my location lines if it exists, and turns it into a separate country line, which it capitalizes the crap out of. 3) If the country does not exist on the end of the location line it goes into more in depth ways of figuring out which country the arena is located, once found it assaults correct grammar, leaving it all swollen and capitalized. If it still can't figure it out, it'll default to United...er UNITED STATES. 4) After that non-sense it adds the completely baffling space before the capacity. It repeats this process until all arenas have been processed.

I should've been more specific then: the names of the countries wouldn't change within the file.
Furthermore, after using the converter on the Japan file, a "United States" inscription appeared all over this specific file.

And the usual description: once attempting to use the USA/Japan/Mexico version following the unupdater procedure - it's back to numbers & fonts.

So here is yet another new link. www.mediafire.com/?pzedfzn6rghhdivBecause you had mentioned the 90s file specifically, that's what I focused on. I added support for other stuff afterwards. Sorry for that, I probably should have mentioned it.

And now you can totally hate me... Here's YET ANOTHER version that includes the all caps switch: www.mediafire.com/?pzedfzn6rghhdivYeah, it's the same URL, I know, I just replaced the file.

And the usual description: once attempting to use the USA/Japan/Mexico version following the unupdater procedure - it's back to numbers & fonts. All of them worked for me in the latest version. There was probably something off in the old versions because it was mostly meant to work on the 90s WWF file exclusively. The new versions seem to do whatever you throw at them without much trouble.

Right now everything seems to work in order. Can't thank you enough for your patience.
Since I've unified all of the files at the same list. A good FUTURE project would be to make sure that no arenas would appear twice (MSG for instance) because now I'll have to include the original arena.dat file as well if I'm interested at having the Australian arenas.

A good FUTURE project would be to make sure that no arenas would appear twice (MSG for instance) because now I'll have to include the original arena.dat file as well if I'm interested at having the Australian arenas. This would be easy enough to do, the problem arises when the two entries have different capacity information, which should be used? There's no way for the program to check to see which is accurate, though I'd be inclined to use my numbers, as they were sourced from Wikipedia. A lot of time i feel like the data from the original plugin was just an unsourced crap shoot, but some people might want those instead. I really don't want to deal with letting people make choices, as it involves more code on my end. I'd just like for everything to be automated after the button was clicked. In the meantime, you could simply cut and paste the Australian arenas out of one version of the arena.dat into one without any of the original Japanese, Mexican, Canadian, or American arenas. Basically, take the converted files for the 90s WWF, Japan, and Mexico mash them into one file, then before copying it to the Plugin directory, pick out the Australian arenas by hand. Boom, no duplicates, and you keep all the Australian arenas.

Can't tell about others, but as for myself: I used this plugin just because it was the only one around providing such information and just for the sake of as much reality added as possible.
Naturally, a more accurate of an info on this one would be very pleasant to have.

I still recommend moving away from DOSBox an into the VMWare Player application. VMWare is free, it'll run all the windows based plugins, and in my opinion, it is easier to set up and works faster/better than DOSBox.

Actually tried it today, seemed too complicated & detailed for me. Being a slight technophobe, I stick with whichever programs I get to know the best, as they also tend to be the more simple ones.
Anyhow, should you decide to go for the "reunions of arenas" matter - drop a line here. I know I won't be able to have a retro circuit for too long before reaching present day and being in need of current up-to-date arenas.

Naturally, a more accurate of an info on this one would be very pleasant to have. Well, in that case, I just set my files to have priority, and created an import check box. Check that box, select the data you want to convert, then the arena.dat file you want to import it into, and you're good to go. The program will remove any obvious doubles. UPDATED VERSION LINK: www.mediafire.com/?pzedfzn6rghhdiv(I've removed the data file from this version, you'll have to make it yourself.)

I still use the old version (not for the logo and music though, but because there are Canadian arenas, and I'm currently going to do a all women's promotion that's going to be based out of Calgary and owned and operated by Lance Storm)

I have a Canadian arena file for the new version. I need to post it. Also, the data files are interchangeable. Meaning that any arena data that worked on the old version, will work on this one.
