I'm noticing that any match that isn't just a singles match seems to be way too random in terms of the result. I've mostly done tag teams, 6 man tags, and Battle Royales, but I've definitely noticed this with all 3.
What I mean is, if I do a singles match, the result is usually accurate/predictable, with the occasional upset thrown in with the appropriate likelihood. But in tag teams, it seems to be a complete tossup. For example, I just had a tag team of total jobbers (20 and 25 push) beat a semi-reputable team (50 and 55 push) with ease. My current and longest running tag team champs are a pair with push 25 and 70. The tag team I was trying to push as champs both have a push of 70 and were doing ok but lost the titles back in their first rematch.
I've had total jobbers win battle royales, and I've yet to see a battle royale won by one of my high push guys (I've done maybe 5 of them.)
My 6 man tag champs are undefeated, with pushes of 30, 60, and 65. I would say they are overall the weakest of my 6 man tags, as all of the other teams have at least one wrestler with a push of 80.
See what I'm getting at? One of the things that could help is if tag teams have their own push rating, as a lot of tag teams are great together but their individual push ratings wouldn't be too high.
Thoughts?

From a programming standpoint, when you have matches with variable amounts of participants it becomes harder to deal with pulling information from the arrays that store it, especially when those participants are arranged into teams. With a fixed amount, there's not much of an excuse...but with battle royals I totally understand.
I added tag team pushes to AWE for the exact reason that you're mentioning. Some teams have a good team push, but their solo work wouldn't be all that high.
You do realize that TNM is pretty much dead as far as updating features and things. It's never been officially stated, but at this point, it really doesn't need to be.

Ahh, I'm a brand new user, so no, I didn't realize the game hasn't been updated in awhile. In fact, today is the last day of my free trial...so what you're saying is, I probably shouldn't bother to pay for the full version?

Well, I've played TNM longer than any other game I've ever purchased. Going on something like 18 years. And since its last update, which was around 10 years ago, I think, I still have played it for another decade. So, in my mind, it is definitely worth the purchase. No game has surpassed it.
On the other hand, Carlzilla is trying to produce a program (and doing a great job of it) that kind of replicates a lot of TNM's features and adds some of its own. It is a very fun program and still in its beta form. You can find some links for it on these boards. Recommended donation of $10 to Carlzilla and we'll see what he wants to charge when he comes up with his final product.
So, basically it is up to you. I'd buy TNM every year if I needed to. I use it that much. Even without updates. And AWE (Carl's sim) is going to probably fall into that same boat when he is finished.

well that makes a bit of sense then, I saw Carlzilla's thread and thought it a bit strange...but if TNM hasn't had an update in TEN YEARS, then yeah I get it...this is a dead game with a community that's still going. Always too bad when that happens, I've been playing a hockey sim (APBA) for at least 15 years, and the last update for that game was when I first started playing it. I initially bought that game for $15 and it's the best $15 I ever spent...so I can see where you're coming from.
Having said that, I'm not at all a big wrestling fan...I was as a kid at about 8-12 years old. But I like sports sims and was intrigued to check this out and try it out with some of my favorite wrestlers from when I was a kid.
It looks like I'll have to take a closer look at Carlzilla's sim

Yeah, don't get me wrong, I've played TNM since 1995 or so, so that's coming up on 19 years. I can only think of a single game in the history of video games that has given me that sort of longevity, and it's another wrestling game, Fire Pro Wrestling. Fire Pro has seen 6 BIG updates in that time though, TNM has seen 2 (I started with 6.13 I think, so 6.2plus and 7).
It's definitely worth your money, but it's not changing. It is what it is, and has been for about a decade.

Bradu, do you have Strict Pushes turned on? Otherwise you'll have lots of folks win despite a much lower push because of their moveset and other stats.
BTW a true jobber (i.e. never wins a match) should have a push of 0.

yup, strict pushes on...I actually brought that up in a previous post about a month ago and that's when I learned about strict pushes, and that seemed to certainly help the singles matches, even though there are still some big upsets.
