Gotta throw Joey Styles in there somehow (He DOES run the WWE.com stuff, last I checked)

But how much longer for Joey at WWE.com... I ask this because his "official" Twitter account is no longer a WWE "authorized" account. He is just "JoeyStyles" on twitter now. You can find me on twitter too.. RGinKC

Well, one of Styles' comments was apparently
Three-way Dance in a Cage between announcers?
Or maybe a tag match: Stryker + Cole vs Mathews + Styles...
Where's JimiC when you need him???

I just watched the first NXT on hulu.
I was sort of under the impression it was going to be more "behind-the-scenes of wrestling" shooty and not just like... one giant angle.
I didn't find it terribly impressive either way.
EDIT: Also? Cole needs to lay off the WWE kool-aid a little bit if the exchange was legit like Joey Styles said. Christ.

Yeah, I'm a bit dissapointed there aren't segments showing training, or showing the pros actually giving the rookies pointers ("When you're in the ring, addressing the crowd, do this and this, but not that" kinda stuff)
Absolutely LOVE the NXT-specific cameras, though.

NXT's my favorite wrestling show AND the only one I watch from start to finish without fast forwarding (except commercials, of course).

LOL at Matt Striker being the human future endeavor machine for Michael Tarver and Bryan Danielson tonight ...
heard (read, whatever) a rumor that Tarver may be heading to Raw to be Ted Jr's Virgil ... I think he could do well in a role like that ...

I think he could do well in a role like that ... I never thought of that, but that would actually be pretty sweet. Especially after Tarver's promo tonight about sleeping in cars and not being able to feed his kids. Would make perfect sense that he would take the job.

IMHO, I would like to see all of them except Otunga and maybe Slater get a job out of this. Sheffield as a crazy heel with Regal as his manager, Tarver with DiBiase, Justin Gabriel either teaming with Evan Bourne or playing the Bourne role on the opposite brand, Slater with a heel turn (just to see if it would save him), Danielson vs The Miz and, well, I have been pulling for Barrett almost since the beginning.

The thing that makes me so sad about Otunga is really, he has a great look and a great gimmick, but he is ATROCIOUS in the ring. Not your standard atrocious but can be passable with the right opponent bad. But like, doesn't run the ropes right bad.
Some of the other guys I'm hit or miss with. I think Barrett's going to be a stud. Danielson will get his opportunity. They seem high on Slater so he'll get a shot. Gabriel will get a chance because of his 450. I like him, but he's looked sloppy at times and is a horrible promo so far. Sheffield has the look for sure, and has gotten better each week, which is good, and they seem high on Darren Young.

Otunga's not just atrocious in the ring, he's dangerous in the ring. I would be scared to death about working with that guy.
Sheffield can move in the ring...put Regal on the mic for him and he's fine. Gabriel doesn't have to talk...just sell and hit the 450.
I did leave out Darren Young. I would keep Young, just because, so far, he's a better "sports entertainer" than anyone else on the NXT roster. I would totally give him a new finisher though. I hate that thing.

So... Extreme Championship Wrestling brand was replaced with ECW brand, due to the Hardcore style not fitting in with the Family Friendly image the WWE was going for...
ECW brand was replaced by NXT because the PG version had gotten "stale"
And yet, tonight, we have an I Quit match that included: Table spots, blood, fight in the crowd, chair shots, a drop from a stairwell into the crowd below, a *CAR* shot attempt, and an FU from the roof of a car THROUGH the stage.
Yeah, that's PG...
On a side note, I think by having all this on a *PPV* while being very PG on the normal TV shows *MAKES SENSE*
TNA
Pay attention

I liked Sheffield when he was in Tough Enough but for me NXT in general is a DUD. I mean letting Danielson get eliminated at the first elimination was the wrong choice. Although I do believe he'll go haunt RAW for a while due to the latest development. I guess I'm the only one thinking of the connection, but if you look at the face, doesn't Darren Young look like a black John Cena?

You're not the only one. Darren Young has been dubbed "The Black Cena" since the show debuted.

I'm enjoying NXT more than I did the last few months of the ECW show. In some ways, it may have been a better idea to have just established NXT a few years ago instead of ECW. That way, the WWE wouldn't have had to worry about measuring up to the original ECW.
