If by "running slow" you mean that it takes too long between lines of commentary, go to Options -> Match Speed -> Change Delay.
A sensible value is around 150 to 300, depending on the speed of your CPU.
If you imported an old TNM, there may be a much higher legacy value in there.

600 is going to be really slow. Can you try 150?
Is the program just slow during matches or all the time?
If it's the latter, it's indeed the CPU.

It's only during the simming of the matches that I see a slowness.. I bumped it to 50.. it's not as fast as I'm used to... Prob takes 20 sec for each match ..just results... Is that bad?

20 seconds for each match sounds a bit on the high side. Are you keeping the play-by-play or do you possibly have the logfile on?
If you're just simming and not watching, the delay isn't going to make a difference.
If you want to be sure, give TNM Tournament Edition a try and see how long the matches take there. They should run about five times faster than the ones in DOSBOX.
Emulation costs some performance, unfortunately. But 20 seconds for a match is way too long.
