I think aside from tag teams one of my biggest problems is females... Now I hope none of the ladies on the board think I have problems with them.. I don't... What I mean by females is booking females and that sort of thing... I try to do the generic thing and have females do what males do.
I know there's one or two wrestling promotions out there that have females doing ladder matches, cage matches and that sort of thing...
Lets hear the stories of some of the great females that have been in your promotions
I've actually had the thought of getting rid of the females or giving them there own promotion.

I have an all-female promotion going on in the Circuit forums. Been going for 2,5 years now - real time.
I started out with the TNA Knockout's division breaking loose from TNA and creating their own fed. I also brought in some Indy women and WWE Divas. I've had Cage Matches, War Games, Ultimate X-matches, I Quit Matches, Streetfights, etc.
I must admit I'm more interested in women's wrestling than your average wrestling fan, but American Joshi is really catching on in the US. Texas-based Anarchy Championship Wrestling holds an annual female tournament, and that DVD is always the best-seller. Each year.
Shimmer delivers top-notch shows two times a year (8 DVDs). WSU holds more shows than any other female promotion (albeit, the quality isn't as good). Canada-based NCW:FF has quickly become the top female promotion in Canada, PRO Wrestling EVE in the UK has had iPPVs, PWWA in Australia has some great wrestlers, thanks to Madison Eagle training them (Eagles was ranked #1 at the PWI Top 50 Female wrestlers last year) and as always, there is a ton of kick-ass talent in Japan.
Women's wrestling is so much more than the Divas and the Knockouts, and I would have loved to see a TV product where the females are treated more seriously (unlike in TNA and especially the WWE).

Well I don't know where your from, but I know that I have seen one or two episodes of WOW (Women Of Wrestling) up here in Canada, but it hasn't been for a while as they shut down for a bunch but from what I hear they're back up and running, more info can be found here: www.wowe.com/I think the reason for why no all female promotion haven't been on TV is a all womens wrestling promotion is a newer concept to most people and alot of the networks frown upon the all women wrestling promotion for one thing... I know this sounds dumb as **** but it's the reason "Violence Against Women" yes I know it's women vs women but it brings up the whole crap-tacular argument with every "group" out there that it's "violence against women" and how it shouldn't be shown on TV cause they're just pushing the fact that violence towards women are OK and they stand for that... I know that sounds stupid specially with some of the stupid stuff that is coming to TV that I don't see lasting such as the LFL (Lingerie Football League)... It's basically women in lingerie playing football.. Which brings up more arguments of that vs womens wrestling.. In closing arguments that have nothing to do with womens wrestling I know this is a family board and we try and keep things clean so if for some reason I offended anyone for censoring my own 4 letter word or using the term: crap-tacular I apologize...

Eh. I wouldn't worry about the curse words. It's nice to avoid them in regular discussion, but I'm sure they are flowing in some of the actual circuits though. I've never done much with women's wrestling. To me it was always a distraction. When I was reading cards I didn't really care much about the women's matches since there was no way for them have that much character development since there were normally 4-6 women's wrestlers on a roster. That all changed when I read Rey's TNAW. He kills it with his women's circuit, but that's not just because of his writing. It's also due to the fact that his entire circuit is based around women and he's built them up so well. Since I started reading TNAW it has made me want to include a women's division in some of my circuits, but I realize I would do a piss-poor job of it compared to Rey. So I've left that up to him. In other words, nope, never done anything with women's wrestling. Because it normally bores me. The only time it hasn't was with the Stratus/James feud and Rey's TNAW.

I can totally understand why it would bore you, now not to take things too much off topic but any video game player (for me its the 360) but have you played: WWE's game from 2007 to 2011 (I can't say 2012 for reason stated shortly) If you've played one of those games or own one I can't help but shake my head at the women, if you don't know what I mean, go turn on your game system... toss in a WWE game and put two women in a match... its more of a bitch slap match if anything, they always do this stupid multiple back slap ordeal that annoys the hell outta me.
But that's one reason why I wanted to include women in my promotion, I do have a womans division... not much of one I think 7 females in total. At times they wrestle alot at times none at all, but I'm the guy who doesn't do storylines and doesn't book winners or losers. I let the game decide... I have thought about ending the womans division on a few occasions to be honest since nothing really has came of it, and I just recently did my first specialty match with women... involving all 7 inside a elimination chamber.. I would say go read but I'm currently in the midst of redoing the site... Hoping to give me more userability for what I control such as images, I knew of a site that did up free posers, sites no longer and I'm some what running low...

I know I'm late to this discussion, but I've always had a women's division in the circuits I've run (from my incarnations of WWE to HWL, currently). From m own experience, I can say that it is definitely difficult to begin/develop/renew character ideas with women, and because of that I don't really give them a whole lot of air time. I'm trying to change that, but I always find myself using the "usual suspects" when it comes to choosing women to add to my roster. So, I don't know if that's just a lack of ability to develop a character, now knowing enough about the other women out there, or a mix of both. But, it's something that I am trying to work on.

The only time I've actually used a woman that played a pivotal role was when I brought Booker T in with the 'm' key and Sharmell showed up with him. I wrote her out of the company in a matter of 3-4 cards.
Simply put, the women's wrestling that we've been exposed to on a national level has always been viewed as an attraction, like midget wrestling. It's the visual aspect of it that matters which is why booking women within your male dominated TNM wrestling circuit is difficult to get into.
Booking an ALL women's wrestling circuit would be much easier since they're no longer just an attraction. You can actually have dedicated storylines, character progression, championships that mean something, etc... just as you would with any other wrestling company.

Women's wrestling has simply never been treated seriously for any length of time by major US promotions. Even when you had someone like Madusa the Women's division tended to be rather erratic, being forgotten about at times when they seemed to run out of ideas for awhile. Starting with at least the Attitude era there was a frequent T&A-centric treatment of women and their matches, moreso than the past.
In the last decade, WWE and TNA have really buried women's wrestling by who they've used as wrestlers. There have been some women who could actually wrestle decent matches like Trish. But most of their wrestlers were picked for their looks and given training rather than taking a wrestler and trying to make a character for them. In WWE especially they get 1-2 minute matches and most of them probably couldn't put on a decent 5 minute match.
So most wrestling fans have been trained to look at women's wrestling as boring garbage.

It's a shame too...TNA has some promising talent but they are soooooo misused. Only thing WWE ever had that could wrestle was Mickie, Trish and Beth. Throw in Harvey Whippleman and we have the 4 best women's champions ever! 5 if you even count Santina!

Yeah, Bull Nakano (who in my opinion was the best female wrestler of all time) and Madusa were bad champions. Trish Stratus was highly overrated. She only had good matches with women who could CARRY her ass
