[glow=red,2,300]Special Press Meeting[/glow]J.R.-"I wish to thank the members of the press to this special announcment. I wish to announce the newest wrestling promotion to come up. The name of the promotion is the National Wrestling League, and it is going to be a little different than your tradtional wrestling promotion" Reporter #1-"What is so different about this league?" J.R.-"What is different about the National Wrestling League is that it will be a seasonal promotion, and not a year around promotion. Simpily put, the NWL will be closely based on the NFL model, in that there are two conferences, with four divisions in each conference. And, at the end of the season, there will be a playoff, or, if you will, a Wrestle-off format, with the NWL World Championship to be at Madison Square Garden in New York City." Reporter #2-"How will the season progress?" J.R.-"The season this first year will consist of a 16 week schedule, with 3 Wrestle-off rounds and the NWL World Championship!" Reporter #3-"Will the champion defend his title through the rest of the year?" J.R.-"No, this will be different as well, as the winner of the NWL World Championship will have the chance to defend his title, if he so chooses. With the number of wrestlers out there, we contracted the wrestlers for 21 weeks. The champion, if he so desires, can re-sign, or he can choose not to, in which case, we will have a different champion! Now I have to go and get ready for Sunday's pay per view under our umbrella, however, you can find more information on the official web site located here! Thank you and good night!" However, they did replace the no-shows and won the matches. The WCP Board of Directors will have to figure out how this will affect the standings. Sting still cannot win for some reason. Match observations:
This was a interesting night for the NWL. The first match out, and both wrestlers No-Showed the event. They will be given DRAWs for the match. Both Mr. Wrestling II and Daniels stepped up and gave a 4 star match, even though it was just a added attraction. In the real match, Daniels scored the pinfall over Mr. Wrestling II.
Sting has lost his first 4 matches in this season, and is in danger of missing the Wrestle-offs all together. it leads some to wonder if there is a naging injury bothering him.
Match of the Night Daniels vs Mr. Wrestling II to start the show.

Five weeks into the season and Sting has not won a match yet. And this week, he gets himself disqualified against Masked Superstar. Sting is almost always the best of the best no matter where he is, but it seems he is not on his game here. We are only in week 5, so there is still a lot of wrestling left. However, I doubt that Sting can dig himself out of the hole he has fallen into. The World Class Board of Directors is going to have to look into the situatiion involving Referee Danny Davis. It seems that he has made another oversite in a match, again involving Mick Foley. This time, the verdict went against Foley. Danny Davis has been on Double Secret Probation since the first infraction at the begining of the season. Also, the Board has to look into the rash of No-Shows going on in the NWL. This week, it was Raven. Something must be done soon. Wrestler of the Week: La Parka Jr Match of the Week Dr.Wagner Jr vs La Parka Jr Upset of the Week Chris Sabin defeats Dos Caras Jr Attachments:

The Standings for week 6 is located here: magiccitydawg.tripod.com/NWL%20Standings/NWL6.pdfNWL Notes; With 10 weeks left in the regular season, the AWC West is still up for grabs. All four wrestlers are within 1 match of each other. Anybody's ballgame here. Chris Sabin and D'Angelo Dinero have an interesting battle going on in the AWC North division. Both are tied for the lead, with Chris Sabin holding a win over Dinero at this point. Rob Van Dam is starting to pull away in the NWC North. He holds a 2 match lead in the division. Still, a lot of wrestling left, so anything can happen. Sting, one of the bigger names in the league, still has not won a match. There is still an outside chance that he could claim a wild card spot, but he needs to win now. His remaining schedule is as follows: Daniels Dr. Wagner Jr La Parka Jr Mike Knox John Cena Alex Shelley Tommy Dreamer Mick Foley Abismo Negro Robert Roode Week 8, we will start to see more about the Wrestle-off picture and have a special look back at the first 8 weeks.

Rating: ****Card rating: ** 3/4 Match observations: NWL Week In Review Week seven is in the books, and we have had a number of four star matches. But let's get right to the big news. ****STING WINS! STING WINS! STING WINS!****Yes folks, Sting finally wins his first match here in the NWL. Although it was a DQ win against Daniels, thanks to Cibernetico, Sting still earns his first victory. Maybe now he will ralley and capture a Wild Card spot in the Wrestle-Offs coming up at the end of the regular season. The No-Shows are becoming a weekly standard for the season as this week it's La Parka Jr's turn. Rey Mysterio replaced La Parka Jr, and actually defeated D'Angelo Dinero. However, since he had already lost in his match against Tommy Dreamer, he could not keep the win to his standings. But, all of that may change after week 8. Rob Van Dam continues his hold in the NWC North as he defeats Randy Orton this week. RVD seems to be the odds on favorite right now to winn it all, but we still have a lot of wrestling left. Next weeks event will take place in Oakland, CA, with a special half way look back with a very special guest on Tuesday. Now, Sting can only get to .500 at this point, and maybe have a shot at the wild card round. Two division leaders went at it tonight as Rob Van Dam went in and defeated Mike Knox, who had been on a 6 match win streak. This could be a sign of things to come, since these two may meet in the Wrestle-Offs. This could be a preview for the NWC Conference title match. We are half way through the inaugural season of the National Wrestling League, and wow has it been great so far. Today, I want to take a look back through the season, and look ahead at what promises to be a great second half. But first, I want to introduce to you a very special guest for today. You know and love this little green guy as much as I do. So give it up for Yoda! Welcome to this look at the season so far.
Yoda-"My pleasure to be here J.R, it is. Been watching the season and I like what I see I have. Herh herh herh."
J.R.-"Well Yoda, let's start off in the NWC North, where Rob Van Dam has a three match lead over Tommy Dreamer. What are your thoughts on this division Yoda?"
Yoda-"Well, to take the division without any problems it looks like Rob Van Dam means. Yes, hmmm.
J.R.-"You're so right Yoda. Not only that, he wants to take top seed in the conference as well. But, to do that, he will have to defeat the leader in the NWC East, Mike Knox."
Yoda-"The surprise of the season to this point, Mike Knox is. Did he have the longest win streak not, hmm?"
J.R.-"Why yes he did Yoda. He actually lost his first match to start the season. However, he won six straight afterwards. He did lose last week, but he is still up in the division."
Yoda-"He wants the division that shows that, and to be the NWL champion at the end of the season he wants. Hmmmmmm."
J.R.-"Yoda, I couldn't have said it better myself! In the NWC South, Sabu is in the lead, but The Sandman and Randy Orton are both hot on his trail. Do you think that Sabu will win the division? Or do you think that Sandman or Randy Orton will chase him down?"
Yoda-" Leading the NWC South, Sabu is, however, my eye on Randy Orton to catch him and take the division, I have."
J.R.-"Mark it down, Yoda says that Randy Orton will take the NWC South. Now let's look at the NWC West, where The Undertaker has a slight lead over Booker T. Yoda, in week 3, Booker T defeated the Undertaker, even though it was by disqualification. Do you think that Booker T can do it again?"
Yoda-"If defeat The Undertaker again, Booker T can, he may win the division. But The Undertaker going down that easy I see not. Hmmmmmm."
J.R.-"I agree with you Yoda. The Undertaker is just too tough right now, but anything can and will happen here in the NWL. Now, let's look at the AWC North, where D'Angelo Dinero is leading, but Chris Sabin is close behind. What are your thoughts Yoda?'
Yoda-"Fine wrestler indeed, Dinero is. But, better be careful, had he, or the division champion will Sabin be."
J.R.-"Right you are Yoda. Now, here is a tight race in the AWC South, as Abismo Negro and Mick Foley have traded the lead back and forth, and now they are tied for the lead."
Yoda-"Mick Foley I like! Great wrestler, Abismo Negro is, but take the division, Foley will. Still have Mr. Socko does he , hmm?"
J.R.-"I believe he does sir. Now, Before we leave this division, I have to say that the biggest disapointment has to be Sting. He has only won one match this entire season. What could be his problem?"
Yoda-"Nagging injury, Sting could have. Or, lost a step or two, maybe he has. I know not why he would go this long without winning. Yes, hmmm."
J.R.-It is a puzzle. Now, let's go over to the AWC East, where La Parka Jr has a two match lead over Dos Caras Jr. Here is another wrestler who had a great run, but is starting to fade."
Yoda-"Leading at one point, Dos Caras Jr was, but what it takes to get the job done, La Parka Jr has shown that he has."
J.R.-"Right you are Yoda. Now we come to the AWC West, and the Masked Superstar has come from the bottom to take the lead by one match over Ric Flair. Yoda, how does a wrestler like Flair come back and win the division?"
Yoda-"Win out and take a win over Masked Superstar as well, what Ric Flair must do is. The only wrestler as old as I, he is."
J.R.-"That's a good one Yoda. Now, let's get your opinion on who you think will win the championship."
Yoda-"Rob Van Dam I like, and Mike Knox too I like. But going to say that D'Angelo Dinero will have the best chance to win the NWL championship, I am! Herh herh herh."
J.R.-"Well, there you have it. Join us Saturday, when week 9 starts out. Yoda, before we go, do you have any parting words for our fans out there?"
Yoda-" Why yes I do! I wish all on Earth a happy life, and use the Force! Herh herh herh."

Perfect time to break out the John Denver Greatest Hits CD. Mike Knox got back on his winning way by defeating Goldust. It was strange to see The Undertaker get involved in that match. Speaking of the Undertaker, he defeated Rob Van Dam to stay within striking distance of Booker T. Sting is now almost mathematicaly out of the Wrestle-Offs. He must win all of his matches, and hope that those ahead of him loses all of their matchs. More to come when we present the standings and more news on Tuesday. Attachments:
