Just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on this topic. Not trying to solicit opinions as I've already made my decision, but want to see what others would do.
Anyone that's doing a circuit based on a timeframe undoubtedly has come across the times where the real world gave us what the IWC has affectionately termed "WrestleCrap." Those infamous moments that we're so bad they live forever.
For instance, in my WCW circut, in my sim I recently got to the point of the infamous Shockmaster debut. To a lesser extend, in my old TNA circuit, I was getting near the point where Hogan and Bischoff were coming in. These moments were so bad they can be easily changed, but they also have become such a part of wrestling lore it would be hard to imagine a world without them.
So how would you handle these kinda moments? Anyone who's done an Attitude Era WWF, does Mae Young still give birth to a hand?
Your thoughts?

If I was running a timebased circuit and the wrestlecrap happened.. I think it would depend on what happened.. The WWF Mae Young thing I would skip since it ultimately plays no major part. TNA and the Bishoff / Hogan I would leave in since that was something that truly defined TNA.
Anything that would truly define or build to something major I would leave in, anything completely stupid. I would leave out.

Bischoff and Hogan coming into TNA doesn't have to be wrestlecrap. At the same time, if you start a TNA circuit years earlier though the timeline may have deviated enough that they don't come in.
I have a great twist on the Shockmaster incident for my WCW93 circuit, whenever I find the time to resume it.
Peter's WWF circuit handled a lot of wrestlecrap pretty well. Some was just there because hey it's a random midcarder what does it matter if he does a dumb gimmick? Some got extra life, like a funny angle with Friar Ferguson helping Berzerker recover from an injury.
But to some extent rebooking a real world circuit is in part to book it better than it was in real life so I don't think it's bad to cut out wrestlecrap. For example, the Mae Young stuff and many of the other dumb angles involving Mark Henry were reportedly Vince trolling him out of buyer's remorse. What if you do a WWF Attitude Era circuit where Mark Henry comes in and is pushed immediately as a monster who destroys everything in his path? It's that far more interesting that what we actually got in real life? And in that case Mae Young never has any reason to give birth to a hand...unless as a twist you have some other wrestler end up in that angle. Which is a standard alternate history trope: sometimes things end up surprisingly similiar even though other things ended up very different.
See also WCW in 1999. You could bring in Mike Awesome and have him be The Fat Chick Thriller 70s Guy...or you could have him powerbomb everything that moves as you build him toward a big match with Goldberg. Really, which is more interesting?
