Anthem Sports announced today the launching of a new professional wrestling company, National Wrestling Federation. Their first event is scheduled for May 25th in Las Vegas Nevada and will feature a double main event.
First, international sensation Kenny Omega will challenge former World Titan Federation superstar Chris Jericho. These two have exchanged words over social media for years, but no promoter could put them on the same card, until now.
The second match announced pits two old rivals against one another, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shinsuke Nakamura. Both rising stars in the Japanese Wrestling Association, their rivalry was cut short when Nakamura left for the upstart Universal Fighting-Arts Organization. Now these two will face each other again, this time on American soil.

Match observations:
May 25th, 2019. From the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Christopher Daniels almost pulled off the upset against Jacob Fatu, cradling the big man for what should have been a three count had Josef Samael not distracted the referee. That turned out to be The Fallen Angel's last hurrah, as he fell to a Doctor Bomb seconds later.
Although all the press was centered around our double main event, general consensus is that the Rey Mysterio/El Desperado match stole the show. Despy used every dirty tactic he knew to get the upper hand, but Mysterio wrestled his style of match, using fast paced offence and frequent pinfalls to keep El Desperado off balance, culminating with the frog splash in homage of the late great Eddie Guerrero for the win.
Tanahashi extended the olive branch to his opponent, saying that he respected Nakamura and would like to partner up and show the American fan base how strong Japanese wrestling is. Nakamura wasn't having any of it, and he slapped the Ace's hand away, to a mixed reaction from the crowd.
We concluded the evening with an announcement from Anthem Sports, Omega and Tanahashi have earned a spot in our upcoming tournament to crown the first NWF Heavyweight Champion. More to be announced at our event next month, Beach Blast, tickets on sale now.

Match observations:
June 29th, 2019. From the Ocean Center in Daytona, Beach Florida.
Christopher Daniels and Jay Lethal started with a handshake, but it didn't remain friendly long. Lethal was absolutely shocked that he lost so quickly, so when CD offered a post match handshake, possibly a insincere gesture, Lethal snapped and attacked him!
Tanahashi and Omega worked well for two people that may have to face each other for a championship in the near future. Speaking of that championship, John Moxley secured the third spot in the title tournament with his win over Jacob Fatu.
Pre sale tickets were so high, NWF officials announced a follow up event, Beach Blast: After Party next month in Jacksonville. Headlining the event will be two old rivals, Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio, but this match is for more than pride, the winner will get the last spot in our Heavyweight Championship tournament.

Match observations:
July 13th 2019, Daily's Place, Jacksonville Florida
We open our third event with representatives from Anthem Sports thanking everyone for coming. Then they showed the seeds for the one night title tournament to take place next month in Chicago. Jon Moxley will face off against Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kenny Omega faces the winner of tonight's main event.
Shinsuke Nakamura was in the stands watching the event. Alex Marvez attempted to ask him when his next match was, but Nakamura simply responded, "Sorry, no speak English." What is up with the King of Strong style?
It's interesting that while Christopher Daniels brought in a former partner of his, Jay Lethal brought in the man he beat in our debut event. Is there something more between him and KENTA, or was this a marriage of convenience.
Has anyone ever been pinned before with a Bronco Buster? Jericho did not take well to a such a humiliating defeat and attacked Rey Mysterio from behind as he was getting his hand raised. Jericho did not stop there, and was about to take his mask until Kenny Omega made the save. The two future opponents then stared each other down to close out the show.

Match observations:
August 31st, 2019, Sears Center Arena, Hoffman Estates, Illinois
Jay Lethal took the mic after his win, blaming his quick loss to Daniels at Beach Blast as the reason he was not in the title tournament. He promised more trouble for CD in the future, but now he was setting his sights on the Heavyweight Championship. Lethal will need to get in line, as the championship committee has announced 3 and 0 Zicky Dice as the first challenger.
Jon Moxley proved he is more the just a brawler tonight. Despite being rocked by a knee strike, he still had the presence of mind to catch Kenny Omega's exposed arm and turn his lariat attempt into a submission victory. Congratulations to our first champion.
Speaking of championships, a 4 team tournament has been announced for the Tag Team Championship. Colt Cabana and Dalton Castle will receive the first seed based on their tag record, we will have qualifier matches for the remaining three spots.

Match observations:
Capital One Arena Washington DC.
We had a controversial finish to our second Tag Title qualifier. Anjelico was frustrated with Andrew Thomas's count so he threw him into the turnbuckle . The match turned into a wild brawl until James Beard took over officiating duties. Angelico had Christopher Daniels trapped in the Navarro Death Roll when the bell rang. The Hybrid2 thought they had won, but it turned out to Andrew Thomas had recovered and disqualified them. They protested, but they did place their hands on an official, so you would have to say it was the correct call.
Josef Samuel was a constant source of interference in Jacob Fatu's match , yet even discounting that, it seem liked there was nothing Fred Rosser could do to put away the Samoan Werewolf. Eventually the official had to throw out the match when Samuel blatantly attacked Rosser in the middle of the ring.
KENTA mauled Eddie Kingston with multiple DDT's some on the outside. Kingston tired to fight back, but is was clear the blows to the head took their toll. It was just a matter of time until KENTA hit the Go 2 Sleep.
Wow, another arm submission win, and this time in only three minutes. We are seeing a whole new dimension to Jon Moxley.

Match observations:
The Liacouras Center, Philadelphia Pennsylvania
Tanahashi came up to Kenny Omega while he was giving his post match interview. He offered to team with team with Omega to take on 2 Guys 1 Tag, given that both of their matches were inconclusive. Kenny accepted and laid out the challenge to Young and Woods at Autumn Attack.
Matt Sydal had heat with the way Dalton Castle beat him. Sydal already hurt himself missing a dive to the outside, but Castle smashed him to the concrete with the Bang A Rang instead of beating him in the ring, still a win is a win. Unfortunately Cabana and Castle could not get the job done in the finals, so Gates of Agony are our first Tag Team Champions.
Jay Lethal picks a confidence boosting win ahead of his title challenge against Jon Moxley at Autumn Attack.

Match observations:
October 9th, Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore Maryland.
Jericho came out to taunt Rey Mysterio after his loss to Zicky Dice, telling him he was washed up and and to go back to Mexico. That came back to bite him in the rear later in the evening. After security pulled Jericho and Colt Cabana apart Rey Mysterio took the opportunity to jump Jericho on the entry ramp, necessitating security to pull that apart as well!
Kenny Omega took the mic after his match and addressed Hiroshi Tanahashi. He reminded The Ace that he wanted a partner to show the American audience how strong Japanese wrestling was, but his countryman Nakamura said no. Omega stated while he might not be Japanese, he respected Strong Style and the two of them made a pretty good team so why not challenge for the Tag Team titles. That got a big pop from the crowd, and then an even bigger pop when Tanahashi accepted.

Card rating: ** 1/4
Match observations:
Music City Mayhem Municipal Auditorium, Nashville Tennessee
It looks like 2 Guys 1 Tag might be done as a team, Silas Young and Josh Woods got into a shoving match after their loss. They seemed to blame each other for their losing streak.
Both El Desperado and Chris Jericho got DQ'd for using the referee as a shield. Mysterio and Vikingo got together at the press conference after their matches and challenged Despy and Jericho to face them in a tag team match.
Nakamura completely disrespected Eddie Kingston after the match, calling him a bum and saying that Kingston didn't deserve to be in the ring with him. Naturally the Mad King didn't take to kindly to this and attacked Nakamura until security pulled them apart.
Jon Moxley might have took this rematch with Zicky Dice lightly, considering the ease he defeated him in their previous encounter. The Outlandish One brought the fight to the champ and even escaped the Death Rider, albeit by being close to the ropes. When Moxley injured himself with a missed tope, Dice opted to take the count out win. Knowing Moxley, however, it wouldn't be too hard for NWF officials to get him to sign for a rematch.

The crowd was firmly behind Eddie Kingston this time around, but the result was still the same. Nakamura did not take the mic this time, simply pantomiming washing his hands, signaling he is done with Kingston.
Rey Mysterio picks up the win for his team, but not by pinning Chris Jericho. To settle their issues they will face each other on one, in NWF's first steel cage match.
Wow, who would have thought the super team of Kenny Omega and Tanahashi would drop the straps in their first defense? Tanahashi protested that the count was fast, but Omega just seemed to be disappointed in his partner.

Match observations:
H-E-B Center At Cedar Park, Texas
You would have to call The Young Bucks' quick loss to the Hybrid2 an upset, Nick Jackson didn't even get a chance to tag in!
Nakamura and Tanahashi have been trading barbs over social media for months now, all stemming from Nakamura rebuffing Tanahashi's offer to team up after our debut event. It got even more heated after the Ace claimed he didn't need Nakamura after wining the tag titles with Kenny Omega, and then escalated after Nakamura mocked Tanahashi for losing the titles in his first defense. This all led to their rematch being exceptionally violent. Tanahashi tried to make peace after his win and extended his hand to Nakamura, but The King of Strong Style just slapped it away.
Speaking of the Tag Titles, they are quite the hot potato, no team can seem to hold on to them. Will Castle and Cabana be any different?
