Randomly came across this on Wikipedia:
"In 1999, Shannon Moore was hired by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) by Chris Kanyon, who had been granted the authority to employ twenty-one young cruiserweights for the Atlanta-based promotion."
Does anyone know if this is true? And if so, who were Kanyon's other WCW recruits? I'd assume Gregory Shane Helms...

I was not and am not a fan of Moore so I wouldn't go so far as to say "great" talent. Helms was probably one though if this is real. Maybe guys like AJ Styles and Air Paris?

Maybe guys like AJ Styles and Air Paris? Would've been pretty bad if WCW hadn't noticed Styles and Paris: before they came to WCW (near its end) they were both wrestling in NWA Wildside...in Georgia.

I wouldn't have been surprised. I doubt Russo or Bischoff were attending NWA shows at that point.

At that the end of WCW there were reports of WCW guys, especially guys like the Power Plant boys, going to indy shows and asking to work free because it was they didn't know what it was like to work in front of crowds that hot, or that big(!).
But yeah, Shannon Moore is awful and I have no idea how he's managed to stay as employed as he has...but there you go.

Didn't realize there was so much hate for Moore; I thought that was mostly just the guy writing the Impact recaps I read.

There has never been anything remotely special about Moore. He was the worst member of Three Count (at least Evan Karagias had a good look to him).

I've always had an odd soft spot for Moore. I'm not sure what it was. Though I don't fault anyone for hating him. At all.
I thought he was fun, or at least aided the Matt Hardy Version 1.0 character by being an MF'er.

I never once saw any of the Matt Hardy V1.0 stuff, but from what I ready it was pretty good. That has to be the only good thing Moore was ever a part of.
